So we have different clinics.

We have Intro to Paddle for first
timers, we have beginner clinics.

And then you go from high
beginner intermediate clinics.

And then we actually got a new one.

It's the advanced one.

And then apart from that, we
have open place, we bring pizza.

It's like kind of like
a social thing we do

here.

Hey everyone.

Welcome to another exciting
episode of Paddle's Match Academy.

We're doing another beautiful club review
and we're here in beautiful Palm Beach.

We're all beautiful pa people.

Beautiful paddle.

And we're here at, uh, paddle Club, right
with Flo Ron and DJ Amor, the two leading

figures in this beautiful, beautiful club.

Small, cozy, but truly spectacular.

Welcome to the channels.

Thank you for having us here.

I mean, we, we, we are so excited.

Flo, you are the general manager, correct?

Yeah.

Okay.

Tell us a little bit about,
we walked in here, it's like.

Paradise, paddle Paradise.

Tell us a little bit about your journey.

How did you ended up here?

What were you doing before?

And a little bit of all the
juicy details about this club.

Um, yeah.

Well, I started working
here in March this year.

Eh, I was involving Paddle since 2020 21.

I, I used to work at Kenyas
when they opened their first

facility of PAL in Miami.

Eh, and now, yeah, I'm here in West Palm.

Different market, different
people, but I really like it.

Um, now, Flo, did you always
play paddle or did you play

another record sports prior?

I always play tennis.

I play college, eh, and
now I, yes, in the us Okay.

Yes.

And now, um, I'm a paddle player.

Paddle player?

No tennis.

So did you, uh, were you
introduced to paddle here or.

Anywhere else?

No.

Here, here.

When it started actually in Paddle
Life, that was my first past experience.

That was the first club
I think in Florida.

My own, yes, yes.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

So when it started to come up here
in 2020 pandemic, I started to play

and yeah, I really fell in love with
So what, what got you over here?

Uh, well this new, this new
journey of paddle of being

a general manager in a club.

Um.

Yeah, I got in contact with, with
Russell, one of the owners, and

that's, that's how I got here.

Well, let, let me, let
me tell you a story.

I mean, this is exciting.

I met Flo, I played A-U-S-D-A
tournament, you know, at, at New

York Club, and I was feeling great.

I walked into the court,
I was killing the ball.

Well, and I play against her.

Did you kick his As And
she tweaked my butt.

That was, I still remember
that it was yesterday.

That kicking my butt.

A ca court floor.

You were a spectacular, but I just
wanna say, share that as a story.

But anyway.

That was in Paddle or that was IMP Paddle?

Yes.

Oh, okay.

Wow.

Yes.

She, she was, she was spectacular.

Yeah, she was brutal.

So, let's go back to the club.

So tell us a little bit, uh, tell
owners when the club opened, uh, what

programs they offer, and also first GI.

You are the, uh, right hand, left
foot, uh, what, what do you do here?

What is your position?

Right hand?

Yeah.

I'm more of, um, operations manager,
like administration and I help floor

with everything that she needs.

Okay.

So it's only the two of you running
the whole operation here And

we have one, yeah, we have two.

Simone and Sophia as well.

Okay.

And you guys step on the
court to teach battle or not?

Uh, sometimes.

Sometimes we do.

Yeah.

When it needed Soja, how did
you get involved in battle?

Well, I'm Spanish.

I'm from Barcelona.

So are you from this area
here, or Spanish from Spain?

No, no.

I mean in Palm here.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I live in West Palm downtown.

I went two years in Virginia for soccer,
and then I transferred to PBA Palm Beach

Atlantic University, and I played soccer
here, but I've always been playing

paddle since I was 13 with my friends.

So it's like a hobby in Spain.

And so, yeah, like I started business
manager and I'm doing something related

to sports and management that I like.

So yeah.

And then they just say, Hey, you
gotta come over here and work here.

Right?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Exactly.

That's great.

So let, let's talk about who wants
the club, the owners and all that.

Okay.

Is, uh, Russell, Anders, and Alex.

So we have three owners.

Three owners, yeah.

And other involving Paddle or
how they came up with that.

I, the ideas to open up Part,
the club, the three Play Paddle,

they really enjoyed the game.

They always come and play, so, yeah.

So do you know if they bootstrapped this?

They, or did they raise funds or
how do they, how do they come up

with the money to, to build a club?

Well, that I, I don't know that.

Okay.

Yeah.

I, I don't know that
that's a question for them.

Okay.

But.

They're really in love with, with paddle.

They really love, like they always say is
this is a passion profit project for them.

Mm-hmm.

Of course they do their own
business too, but yeah, they, they

are involved in Paddle as well.

So when did this open here?

In November.

Last year.

Oh, last year?

Yeah.

And you guys have how many courts outside?

We have three outdoor
courts and one in the court.

And how tall are the ceilings?

It's uh, 31 feet.

Oh, it's a good guy, right?

Yeah, it's, it is.

And what type of courts are they?

Um, what brand?

From Spain.

From Spain, right.

But brand, I think it's
the same as Reserve.

Reserve.

Paddle Tech.

Paddle Tech, yeah.

Right.

Yeah.

Okay.

Yeah.

I wasn't here when they open.

Okay.

Okay.

But I think, yeah.

'cause he's the same, the
same guy from from Reserve.

Yeah.

Alright, beautiful.

So why don't we talk a
little bit about what, what.

What do you offer?

What programs you, you,
you have also paid to play.

You come, you pay and you play.

Mm-hmm.

What platform do you guys use?

Uh, play by point.

Play by point.

Yeah.

And what is the cost of to play here?

Uh, so the in court is
$50 per hour and a half.

In individual person?

Yeah, per player.

So it's $200 per hour and a half?

Yeah.

Right.

On the outdoor court, the peak
time is 35 and the low time is 30.

For player.

Now, is there any memberships here,
uh, to reduce that cost or, yes.

Okay.

We have an annual membership.

It is 10,000 a year.

Okay.

And then we have a monthly membership
that we're launching actually this week.

Okay.

Eh, it is 2 75 and you have 50% off.

The court time.

Oh, that's, that's, and a 13.

That's really good.

13 day booking window.

Good.

Yeah.

And the $10,000 gives you access to
what, what, what are the, the perks?

Unlimited court time.

Oh, unlimited.

You just pay 10,000 and
you play all you can Yes.

Have the cost of the, the courts.

Right.

That's pretty good.

Yes.

Yes.

And you have some more bread and
face like discounts on merchandise,

premium rackets for rental for free.

Um, and so how many members
do you have right now?

We annual membership, we have around
25 annual E. And what's the goal?

Where do you guys wanna, how many
members do you want to get to?

Well, right now we, we are still
going with the annual membership.

Mm-hmm.

That's only for, you know, few people.

Right.

And our goal is to get to
40, 45 regular members.

That's great.

And then we have people
that just come and play.

Play.

Yes.

'cause this is a, a city where
people travels a lot, so they come.

And they travel all the time to when I
get involved, like in the membership.

Also, when they're traveling, they,
they, they're exposed to battle.

So when they come, they're like, where?

Is there a paddle club?

Yes.

Yes.

So there are many people that
are traveling all the time.

From New York, from everywhere.

So let's talk about coaches.

Who is your main coach and
how many of you have here?

Uh, we have Juan, Juan Martin.

He's from Argentina.

He's one of our main
coaches as Danny Diaz too.

Uh, Daniel Diaz for sure.

You, you know him.

He's a, I think he's
top five in the nation.

Yep.

Um, and then we have Ola who's
on call right now and Dominic.

Dominic, yeah.

That's great.

So how much does it cost to
take a class with one of them?

One hour with one of the
headquarters is 1 75.

1 75, okay.

Yes.

How about clinics?

Do you guys have clinics here?

Yes, we do have clinics.

$40 an hour, 55 for an hour and a half.

Then we have different, like
promise, like match lesson with a

pro, which is feminine per player.

Uh, we have open plate, open plate.

I see here you guys have a great bar for
smoothies, beautiful coffee and all that.

I mean, that's, that's great.

Yeah.

Yes.

What's your favorite smoothie there?

Oh, the, the peanut butter smash.

That's the best seller here.

Let me ask one thing.

You know, when we walked in here.

You may own delicious coffee.

So you are a multitasking first.

Do you guys do a little bit of everything?

Mm-hmm.

Yes.

So do you guys also run the,
the, the bar restaurant or Yes.

Well, we have, we have
a girl, she's a Sophia.

She's like the food and
beverage ma bar barista.

Yeah.

I'm barista.

I'm not a barista, but I make good coffee.

Right.

It was really good.

Um, but yeah, if she's
not here, we, we do it.

So we do.

A little bit of everything
here we operate.

So is there any, uh, future, uh, other
clubs gonna happen from, uh, from

here or, I mean, is that the goal or?

Yes.

The goal is to expand.

Uh, you have you seen a lot here?

There is.

Right here.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So yeah, the goal is to, to get that.

Oh two x second.

Yes.

More indoor new for in courts as well.

Oh wow.

So second club there then Not
moving or just a second floor.

So an expansion, not expansion.

Yes, an expansion.

It will be connected
through a hallway, I think.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So you have more port doors.

Yes, that's planning
in the future, but yes.

When is that gonna happen, you think?

Um, I don't know.

I don't know.

I don't know much, but I know
they're trying to to, to get it

as you create demand and have
more memberships than you know.

Yeah, yeah, of course.

And in the court is, is really important.

So gi tell us a little bit about the
programs that you offer here at the club.

So we have different clinics.

We have Intro to Paddle for first
timers, we have beginner clinics.

And then you go from high beginner.

And then intermediate clinics.

And then we actually got a new one.

It's the advanced one.

It's the rating goes from four too high.

'cause we have actually a lot of players
with like advanced level that they can do

that advanced clinic and they ask for it.

So yeah.

And then apart from that, we
have open place, we bring pizza.

It's like, kind of like
a social thing we do.

Right.

So yeah, we have a college night as well.

And what, what is, is the
level pretty good here?

Yeah.

The level of playing, I mean, do
you get a lot of advanced players or

Everybody thinks they're advanced,
but they're not really advanced.

They're more likely.

Yeah.

Well, that happens in fire, right?

All the time.

Million, big example.

That's something we deal every day.

Levels the, yes, thank my writing.

I'm a 3.0, 3.5.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Down there we get like four
or five point ohs, you know,

saying like, yes, okay buddy.

But it's, it's a new, it's a
new community, so it's like.

We have good players,
but there are only a few.

'cause yeah, we don't, we don't have
many people coming from other cities.

So it's only, it's building it.

This, this is new to the community.

So you get tennis players, I assume,
and, and Yeah, from the college.

The pixel player, squash player as well.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

So you're building that
community of, of cla.

Mm-hmm.

Exactly.

So tell us bit of what are the,
you know, Palm Beach is completely

different to Miami on, on in other city.

What are the challenges
that you guys have here?

Well.

One thing is the sense of community
that I, that was one of the main things

that I wanted to start building here.

So like the pizza, the stay
after, get a beer, get a pizza,

get like that sense of community
friends, stay after playing palate.

That's something challenging that
we are, we are trying to build that

thing, you know, make people stay.

Hey, stay for a beer or sit for a pizza.

Let's have it.

I feel like that's very Latin in Miami.

We used to have it.

Yeah.

Why do you think that is?

Well, I think it's something
with like a culture thing.

Mm. But, but we are, we are,
we're, we're going towards that.

I feel like we're.

People are staying after palette.

We, you have the coffee
and you have the beers.

Yeah.

Right.

This is all you need right out afterwards.

Do you guys sell beers still here?

Yep.

So you have a a, a beer and wine license?

Yes.

Beer, wine.

And do you do it, do you
have a full menu bar?

I mean, do you, do you sell food or
just snacks and things like that?

Just snacks as eyeballs.

We're having a new menu for
the new season that we're gonna

have sandwiches and all that.

So you were saying that
Pam is very seasonal.

Yeah.

So that's all the, the other challenge.

So how do you adapt to that?

You know, the, the, the summertime.

I know and, and I know a lot of
people, Palm Beach gets super busy

in the wintertime, then everybody
flies away in the summertime.

Yes.

So how do you adapt, you
know, uh, summer to winter?

Well, that was a really, really
challenging for me in summer.

It's like you have to innovate
and create like new things and

try and see if it works or not.

That's, that's what happened
to me in this summer.

So we work more with the people from
West Palm and not with the people

from Palm Beach, because of course all
the people from Palm Beach were gone.

So we have to of course, change the
pricing, create things that people,

I don't know, different times.

So the pick time was at 7:00
PM with the open place and

not like early in the morning.

So yeah, we have to be creative and.

Do like innovation things.

Mm-hmm.

But that's great.

You guys made a pivot and
changes to, you know, yeah.

That, that summer.

Yes.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

What, what are the challenges?

I mean, do you guys run tournaments?

US, USPA tournaments?

Are you guys trying to promote that?

Because you, you're a small club.

Are you trying to promote these open
tournaments from everywhere, everyone

else to come into to the club?

Yes.

I'm actually trying to get like
the USPA tournaments coming here.

Oh.

So I'm in contact with one
of the, the USPA people.

And you think you're gonna
have USPA tournaments here?

Yes.

Hopefully next year we, we can.

We can host them, I think.

Yeah.

You know, I must say something that
every club has their own personality,

and this is all about the details.

You know what I mean?

The smell, the look
and feel, and you guys.

Thought about every single one of
the little things, you know, the

books here and, and, and I, I truly
admire you and congratulate the owners

for having such a beautiful vision.

You walk in here and you feel like you're
in, in your home, you know, even the

bathroom, the bathrooms are beautiful.

The smell in the bathroom is like.

Wow.

Is it?

Holy crap.

And it is beautiful.

I was gonna say that very, like,
feels comfortable, like welcoming.

Yeah.

You, you just wanna stay here.

You don't wanna run away
Uhhuh in between us.

I very, you know, I mean, you just
wanna play and run away from that, from

certain clubs, you know what I mean?

But here is I, you just wanna stay here.

Yeah.

I mean, I really love that.

I mean, congratulations.

Hospitals is Yeah.

Yeah.

Well, that, that was the goal, right?

Also, not to come just to play paddle,
if not like stay, stay for a coffee.

Yeah.

They have TVs always.

Playing ka.

So that was also one of the main
goals to get people to stay.

You wanna, do you wanna go over
anything else or ask us, you

know, you wanna add anything else?

Anything exciting, something
exciting coming up?

Well, we're doing the, the
reset, the wellness events.

Oh yeah.

Every month, eh?

Yeah, Sunday.

On Sunday.

Sunday.

Are you gonna do Halloween,
uh, party or something?

Yeah.

Yes.

Yeah, we're gonna
decorate the club as well.

How we do like a Halloween tournament.

Great.

That's, yeah.

So yeah, we're starting the season
right now, so it's really exciting.

We're, has many things coming up.

So when does the season start?

Usually?

Well, it start or, so what is it?

Uh, what is it?

Labor Day.

Labor Day.

Labor Day, yeah.

After labor.

Labor Day, everybody comes down.

Yeah.

My school is back as well,
so everybody's moving.

We're in season right now.

I would say.

Yeah.

Good.

Yeah.

Okay.

For ju could, Julian wants his revenge.

So we're gonna go have to go out and play.

Yeah.

Okay.

You guys ready?

We can play.

We can play now.

Perfect.

10 minutes.

Congratulations, Louis.

There you go.

Thank you so much.

Great club here.

Thank you Gracia.

Thank you very much.

Azi.
