A legal battle in New Jersey is intensifying after the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that First Choice Women’s Resource Centers can challenge a state subpoena seeking private donor information. But Attorney General Jennifer Davenport is now urging a state judge to keep enforcement moving, arguing the high court did not “decide the merits of First Choice’s challenge to the Subpoena” and that there is “no basis” to pause state proceedings. Writing for the 9-0 court, Justice Neil Gorsuch said the subpoena “injures the group’s First Amendment associational rights,” adding, “An official demand for private donor information is enough to discourage reasonable individuals from associating with a group.” Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Erin Hawley blasted Davenport for “doubling down” on what she called a “hostile crusade” against the pro-life ministry and said the Supreme Court made clear First Choice is “entitled to its day in federal court.”

The U.S. Supreme Court has temporarily stepped into the fight over abortion pills, with Justice Samuel Alito issuing an order pausing a lower court ruling that would have blocked the delivery of mifepristone by mail. The stay keeps the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision on hold until May 11 at 5 p.m. Eastern, as litigation continues in a case brought by Louisiana against the Food and Drug Administration’s 2023 rollback of in-person dispensing rules. The 5th Circuit had said the FDA “essentially acknowledged APA procedural deficits with respect to mifepristone,” and found Louisiana had suffered an injury because the policy allowed the drug to be mailed into the state. But manufacturer Danco Laboratories argued Louisiana lacked standing, saying, “Nothing in FDA’s 2023 REMS requires Louisiana to prescribe or use mifepristone.”

Israel’s Foreign Ministry says it plans to bring about 8,000 young leaders and influencers to Israel by the end of 2026, most of them from the global Christian community, in a major outreach effort reported by Israel HaYom and All Israel News. Officials say the goal is to “remove young people from the influence of social media discourse” and let them encounter Israel “not through a feed or a headline, but through a personal encounter, territory and people.” Participants will spend eight days in the country, touring historic sites, mixed Jewish-Arab cities, and areas damaged by war, followed by briefings on daily life and security. The ministry calls it “a long-term strategic process” to build “a global network of influential young people” who can serve as ambassadors for what it describes as Israel’s “complex reality.”

Self-styled prophet Brian Carn Jr., founder of Kingdom City Church in Charlotte, has been sentenced to nine months in federal prison after pleading guilty to obstructing IRS efforts to collect more than $600,000 in unpaid taxes. Prosecutors said Carn underreported $1.4 million in 2015 income and, even after his plea, “again drastically underreported his income” on his 2024 tax return, claiming just $17,425 while reportedly telling a lender he made $250,000 to finance a $213,264 Mercedes-Benz. Court filings also said Carn told officials he had no children, yet made $14,600 in child support payments last year. Back in January, Carn had dismissed prison fears, saying, “Well, I won’t be. … I know how to handle that stuff in the spirit.” But Judge Timothy Corrigan told him, “When you get done, you’ll have the rest of your life in front of you to do good.”

Contemporary Christian music star Natalie Grant is asking fans for prayer after what she called a “serious” fall led to internal injuries and emergency surgery. The 54-year-old Grammy-nominated singer said she was helping move her daughter Bella home from college when she tripped on a sidewalk and “took a hard fall,” later writing, “Basically I wiped out.” What first seemed like a fractured rib turned into, in her words, “a serious internal situation,” including a bleeding kidney and a blood clot in her bladder that required surgery. Grant called the ordeal “pretty scary,” adding, “What in the world?! Who trips and falls on a sidewalk and injures a couple organs?!” She says the procedure was successful: “Thank you Jesus, it went well today, I’m on the mend and will make a full recovery.” Support poured in from Michael W. Smith, CeCe Winans, TobyMac and Brooke Ligertwood.

An Alabama megachurch is facing a sudden leadership change after Rev. George Wright announced he is stepping down as senior pastor of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Vestavia Hills, a congregation of about 7,800 members. In a social media video, Wright said, “Over the past couple of weeks, it has become clear to us that our time here at Shades is coming to an end,” calling the decision “heartbreaking” for his family and urging members to “please pray like crazy.” Wright, who has led the church since August 2021, did not give a reason for leaving, but insisted, “nothing in my life disqualifies me from ministry.” He added, “I am more passionate and committed right now” to God’s calling “than I’ve ever been.” Church leaders said they trust “the Lord is guiding us,” while Wright asked for prayers “that revival would continue to break out.”

Netflix has set a major rollout for Greta Gerwig’s “Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew,” announcing the film will debut in IMAX and theaters worldwide on Feb. 12, 2027, with exclusive IMAX previews starting Feb. 10, before landing on Netflix on April 2. The adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ 1955 novel, the origin story of Narnia, stars newcomers David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell, alongside Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep. Gerwig called the project “the honor of a lifetime,” saying Lewis made her believe “in magic and hidden worlds and adventure,” and that she first fell in love with “the gorgeously improbable but completely brilliant concept of a cosmic lion singing the world of Narnia to life.” The C.S. Lewis Estate praised her vision for bringing “joy, heart and genuine love for the story.”
