What is Chapter + Verse?

A faith-forward podcast for people who love Jesus but also love being honest about how weird and wonderful life can be. Hosts Kerrye and Jill tell stories about the Bible, talk about their faith, and dig into what it looks like to follow God through the ordinary chaos of everyday, imperfect life. Real conversations. Real stories. No pretending to have it all together. Pull up a chair, turn the page, and let's go.

Welcome to Chapter and Verse, where people
tell real stories about faith, failure,

redemption, and those "Lord, I'm gonna
need you to explain this one" moments.

Some stories are inspiring, some
are messy, some are miraculous,

and some probably should have
come with a warning label.

But through every chapter of
every story, God has a plan.

And he's never been
afraid of a little chaos.

We're Jill.

And Kerrye.

Let's turn the page

Okay.

So welcome back, and we are here
with our good friend, Doris Nounamo

That's correct.

Okay.

I was hoping I would say that right.

But, um, we're so happy you're here.

Yay.

And, yeah.

You've been one of our, like we,
we had you down on the list, like

we've got to get her to come.

Yeah.

But, um, what would you
like to share with us today?

First of all, I wanna thank, um,
Kerrye and Jill for this opportunity.

And, um, this is my first time doing
a podcast, and I just wanna pray

that God should help me to, um…

Before I say what I wanna talk about,
I just wanna invite the Holy Spirit

and ask the Holy Spirit to help me
so that my message can, the seed can

be planted in our hearts, and that
hopefully will encourage a lot of women.

And so basically, I'll be talking
about storms, um, how to stand firm

on the word of God during storms.

That's good.

Okay, good.

Yeah.

We're ready.

Okay.

So if, if, if everybody is,
uh, agree with me- Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm … I'll start with a short prayer.

Sure.

Okay.

Yeah.

And, uh, I'm just gonna invite God
to just be my mouth, my mind, my

thoughts, my heart, and everything.

Okay.

Father God, I just wanna thank
you for this opportunity.

I wanna thank you for your
Spirit that lives within me, and

I know it's that Spirit that's
gonna speak over my l- over me.

Like, I pray that you take
total control of my lips, my

mouth, my thoughts, my heart.

Um, I pray against any influence
that may affect this message.

I rebuke it in the name of Jesus,
and I just pray, Lord, that you

will use my mouth to encourage
the hearts that are receptive.

In Jesus' name I've prayed.

Amen.

Amen.

Amen all right.

So, um, what I'm gonna share
is based on this Bible verse.

It's, uh, 2 Corinthians 10,
and it starts from verse 3.

And I will read it before I, I,
I go into how to trust God during

storms, and I'm just gonna go…

I'm just gonna talk about
my personal experience.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, that's basically it, and hopefully
it's gonna encourage, um, a lot of people.

Sounds good.

Yep.

Says that, "For though we walk
in the flesh, we are not waging

war according to the flesh.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of
the flesh," that's very important, "but

have divine power to destroy strongholds."

Strongholds is pretty much
your mind, your mindset.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

It destroys your mindset.

Like, the Word of God, the power,
divine power of God is set to

destroy that mindset and to
replace it with the mind of Christ.

It says, "We destroy arguments and
every lofty opinion raised against

the knowledge of God, and take every
thought captive to obey Christ."

My God.

"Being ready to punish every disobedience
when your obedience is complete."

So

obedience is how you truly
walk out your faith in Christ.

And in order to be obedient to Christ,
you have to surrender your mindset,

everything about what you grew
up, your culture, your traditions.

I'm not saying it's a bad
thing, but it should not

influence your walk with Christ.

It is the word of Christ that
has to influence your walk.

So I'm gonna focus on storms, and I'm
gonna be as brief as pos- as possible

'cause I- there's so much I've been
through, but one of the main things I

feel like sharing was during a season of
my life, I had to take care of several

sick people and including having toddlers.

I had my dad that had cancer.

I had other people I, I was
taking care of full time.

I had to work two jobs, and I
had to take care of my two little

girls, and they were still toddlers.

Mm-hmm.

It was very heavy.

It was not easy.

It was really not easy.

And I got to the point where I asked
God that because it was hard, without

getting into the details, there was a lot
going on that gave me a reason to give up

But then I had to remember that
I have to destroy that stronghold

that gave me a reason to give up.

So I remember I went before
God, and I asked him if this

is what he wanted me to do.

Does, this is, is this, do you
want me to be a caregiver to this

person, to this person, even though
I do not receive love in return?

I did not receive- Okay … love
in return to those caregivers.

You have to understand that.

Yeah.

It was one of the hardest thing I've
ever done for my life, 'cause I had

to learn how to love unconditionally.

Right.

I receive hate, but I had
to take care of, you know.

Mm-hmm.

So the Lord, in my heart when I was
praying, he's told me that, that he

wa- that is what he wanted me to do.

That is love.

Love does not feel comfortable.

Love is an action.

It's a verb.

It's not when it feels right.

No.

That is obeying God is actually
when it doesn't feel right.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And so he gave me one word,
and I can never forget.

He told me, "I will bless you
with health to be a caregiver.

I will give that to you."

Mm-hmm.

And I said, "So you will give
me health and the strength?"

He said, "Yes.

You will be a caregiver, but
you will never be the recipient.

That I give it to you in
this season of your life."

Good.

So I wasn't sure that it was from him,
but I knew it was, because one way to

really know that, because God speaks
in my heart when I read his word,

when I pray, is the peace I received.

I received so much peace.

I was crying, and I wiped my tears,
and it felt like all my problems was

resolved, but I was still in the storm
So dur- while I was in the storm, I

remembered, uh, when I was taking care
of somebody that was not good to me,

and I was in the hospital, I received
an excruciating pain on my shoulder.

It was so painful that I
felt like I was gonna scream.

It was, it was hurting,
and I couldn't breathe.

And, and I was like, "Oh my
God, what is happening to me?

I'm also getting sick."

But then I remembered what God told me.

Mm-hmm.

Which is, which is, i- if you read
what I, I, I, I shared here, it says

here that we wage against, you know, we
don't re- wage against flesh, we wage

against, you know, the principalities
and, you know, the power, and all of that.

So I remember v- I remember that.

And doubt wanted to come in my
mind, but I told God, I said, "I

remember the word you told me.

You told me you would give me health.

You told me you would give me
what I needed to be a caregiver.

I don't have nobody to take care of
me if I wa- if I were to get sick."

I didn't have anyone.

Mm-hmm.

Right.

So I put my hand on my shoulder
with the faith that I had, because

I, I, maybe one day I'll get into
the, to that, how I got that faith.

But I put my hand on my shoulder,
and I said, "What are you doing here?

You have no, no role in this.

I know my season.

I know what God told me.

I know the instructions He told me,
so I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.

You do not have any right over my body.

That I know."

Within two minutes, it completely
disappeared, and I went arou-

and I went doing what I do
best, taking care and all that.

Never came back.

It was never an issue.

Mm-hmm.

The second time that the enemy tempted
me again- Was in the middle of the

night, something happened on…

I could sense something
happened to me in my body.

I woke up and I had severe back pain,
so much that I couldn't bend over.

And at work, and I would have
tears coming down my, rolling

down my ch- I had tears to cry.

I couldn't take care of my toddlers.

I didn't know what was going.

I felt, at that point, I felt helpless.

I said, "What am I gonna do?

I can't bend down to tie my, my shoe."

You know, I had to bend down to tie
the, the, uh, the lace on my shoes.

I couldn't do much.

I, I was in so much pain.

I called the doctor and
made an appointments.

They said I had to see a spine surgeon
and, you know, all, all of that.

And I, I took ibuprofen and naproxen.

It still didn't help.

I was in a lot of pain.

It was really bad on my back.

I did one prayer.

I sat down and I said, "God You
know my body, you know my life.

I don't control anything.

But one thing that I know about you
is that you will never give up on me.

Your word says that in the midst
of trouble, you're with us.

So I told Him one thing.

I said, "If this is what you want
for me this season," because believe

it or not, trouble is a promise.

We are not promised a
trou- a trouble-less life.

Right.

But I want it to be God's will.

Mm-hmm.

You know, s- there are certain troubles
that we go through that wasn't God's will.

It's due to our disobedience, the
l- the choices we made in life,

the consequences, and all of that.

Right.

Right.

But I told God that, "If this
is your will for me, I know

you will move angels for me.

That is not gonna stop you.

But if this is not your will for my life
right now, I demand that you remove it."

And so I received the peace of God,
and I said, "Regardless of what you

have decided for me while I am in
pain, Lord, your will shall be done."

And I forgot I was in pain.

I just let it go.

That night, I slept, and I remember
the Lord visited me, and He said, "No,

it's not for you," and He healed me.

Wow.

That's amazing.

And I got up healed.

Wow.

And I got chills.

Yes, me too.

I got up healed, and I was like, "What?

Thank you, Lord."

He gave me a word.

Now, the word of God is powerful,
more powerful than a diagnosis, than a

treatment that you see people healed from.

The word of God, He did not
say He will remove the storm.

Mm-hmm.

I had to take care of sick people.

It was overwhelming.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

But He, He h- He drew a line.

He w- He gave me the strength to do it.

Yeah.

So whenever a, something…

You know, He didn't remove the storm.

He calmed the storm.

Mm-hmm.

But He didn't remove it.

And another time that during, in the
midst of that season of my life, because

I'm no longer in that season, that
season lasted for 11 years in my life.

Wow.

I was a caregiver for 11 years.

Wow.

But during- Long time.

Yes, very long time.

During that season of, He also
used that to prune me, so.

Mm-hmm.

And I'm grateful for that season, 'cause
it, it's because of that, seasons like

that, that I am passionate for Christ.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

So during that season, um, I know it was
when COVID hit, it was towards the end of

that season, but when COVID hit, He, God
asked me that I had to start exercising.

Um, no, I'm not attacking
anybody or anything like that.

He said I had to start exercising,
I guess because He could see that

my health was kind of declining and,
you know, He knew I had to exercise.

Mm-hmm.

Let me just stop there.

So when I started exercising and jogging,
specifically jogging, He told me jogging.

He was pretty specific.

He said, "Through that I am gonna
give you the strength you need."

Mm-hmm.

So I, when I started to exercise and
jog at the beginning, first, uh, week

or two into that, or few months, I can't
remember exactly, I started having asthma.

Now, asthma does not exist.

I've never had asthma.

I had trouble breathing,
and I had to stop.

I couldn't breathe.

And I'm like, "God, I can't breathe.

Even walking, I can't breathe."

And you specifically, He asked
me that I had to go out and jog.

Mm-hmm.

And I said, "In the name of
Jesus, I am going to breathe."

I told God, "If you do not rescue me
right now, I'll just die right there.

That will be on you and not on me."

So I said, "I will
breathe in Jesus' name."

And then I, and then my lungs just
opened, and I started breathing again.

And he never came back.

That's, that's great.

That is great.

So that, tho- that specific tells me
those were attacks from the enemy.

Oh, for sure.

Yeah.

It was not.

Yeah.

And the last, even though I'm
out of that season of being a

caregiver, God has still told me
that He has blessed me with health.

Mm-hmm.

So this is, this one is more recent.

I, God had called me to do
something specifically during the

summer for Him, and it required a
lot of physical, um, engagement.

Okay?

Uh, it, it required a lot of
physical engagement to get it done.

And, um, I started having a severe
earache, but I didn't have time

for the earache because I was busy.

I was busy, not busy for myself, but
busy to accomplish what God had called

me to do- Mm-hmm … during the summer.

So I ignored the earache,
and I said, "Earache, I don't

have your time right now."

My mom, she's my opposite.

She's like, "Please see a doctor."

I said, "Okay, I'm not a, I'm not
that mu- " You know, I told my mom,

"I'm gonna see a doctor," you know,
and I kept pushing it and pushing it.

I wasn't thinking about my ear.

It got so bad I could not eat on
my, on my right side of my ear.

Mm.

And so finally I said, "Okay."

I couldn't eat on my right side.

It was hurting so bad.

And, you know, I told my coworkers,
it's like, "Maybe you have TMJ.

Maybe you're- Mm-hmm … because the
bone, you know, just- Yeah … the

articulation was hurting and stuff.

She said, "Didn't you Google it?"

I said, "No, I'm not Googling anything."

She said, "Why?"

I couldn't tell her why, because
I, my mind, I'm like, "I'm gonna,

I'm not gonna add anxiety on me."

Right.

God already knows what I have.

Okay.

Yeah.

He already has a solution,
so I'm gonna go see a doctor.

I'm gonna do what I gotta do.

Yeah.

Not even, I can honestly say
it never kept me up at night.

Yeah.

It was not my problem.

It was God's problem.

Yeah.

But I was in a lot of pain, though.

Yeah.

So when I went to see the doctor,
she looked through my ear canal.

She said my tympanic
membrane must have busted.

She said, "Maybe you had
a severe infection, and it

was so inflamed it busted.

Do you?"

I said, "I don't know, honestly."

She said, "It looks okay to me.

I don't see any problems.

But I'm just gonna give you
antibiotics, you know, j- just in case."

I was like, "Okay."

So I took the antibiotics,
and I still had that pain.

It was getting worse, and I said,
"I'm gonna see, I make an appointment

for the ENT doctor September 17th."

But then I remember what God told me.

I said, "God, you gave me this to
do during this season of my life,

and I don't have time to get sick."

And I told God that, "I will use the
word that you gave me over my ear.

So I will put my hand on my ear,
and I will say, 'In the name of

Jesus, I rebuke you,' because
of the word that God gave me.

He said he gave me health,
and I don't have time for you.

And I will tell God, 'I surrender
my earache into your hands.'"

Now, I, I booked my appointment
with the ENT doctor, because

she heard me very well.

But I told God and I said, "I
know I heard you well, because the

enemy started putting ideas in my
mind and said, 'Did you really?"

Oh.

"Do you really think-
Hmm … that applies to you?"

And I, and I made, um…

And I told God that, "Okay, if this
is truly you, if I really heard your

voice, Lord, heal my ear before the ENT
appointment, and I will know it's you.

And even wa- as- and then I will know for
sure it's you, and I will never doubt."

Yeah.

So, you know, every morning I would
put my hand and say, "I'm healed in

Jesus' name," even though it hurt.

It hurt really, it was…

I could not eat.

I had a hard time chewing, so I had to…

I had a lot of smoothies, soft stuff.

Mm-hmm.

I could not eat meat.

I love meat.

I was in pain.

But it never kept me up at night,
'cause I was busy with other things.

Yeah.

I did not- Yeah … have time
for that, 'cause I had that peace

that God had a solution for me.

I was not afraid that if I went to a
ENT doc and they found something, I

knew, I knew, I told God, "Whatever
they find, you have a solution."

Yeah.

"I cannot carry that burden right now.

You said that we should give you our
yo- take your yoke and give you our

burden, 'cause your yoke is light.

And so your yoke, I carry it.

I'm gonna do what I have to do.

I'm gonna go to the doctor, but
I'm not gonna worry about it."

I did not Google it, not even one time.

I did not look into that.

I did not add any anxiety to me, on me.

Yeah.

I mean- That'll preach right there.

Yeah.

But I can stand here today and testify.

One day, I didn't even realize
that I started eating on my right

side, and, and the, the pain had
subsided, and it's almost gone.

It's not completely gone, but
I can eat on my right side.

Yeah.

That's great.

That is great.

And, and every single day it's
better than the previous day.

So pretty much God is healing me,
and I don't need to see a ENT doctor.

Yay.

Yeah.

And so all what I wanted to
say is that God is faithful

Have a relationship with
God, like intimacy with God.

In every trouble and every storm, he
always tells us that he's with us.

If he's with us, with us,
it means he will talk to us.

Mm-hmm.

Yep.

And he will give us instructions,
and he will give us his word that

you will need during trouble.

Mm-hmm.

That was my word from God during trouble.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And he stayed faithful to the end.

He always is.

Yeah.

Always.

So in order for me to be able to do
that, I had to completely redefine

my identity, which is in Christ.

I had to give up what society says
about me, what doctor have to say

about me, what the world has to say
about me, and the only way I could do

that is to have an intimacy with God.

Mm-hmm.

Pray, be in his presence, read his word,
and have a one-on-one intimacy with him.

I don't know the crowd that's…

I, I assume that adults will listen to
me, but, you know, intimacy means when you

have intimacy with your spouse, because
I know marriage is, was designed by

God, you don't do it in front of people.

Right.

Right.

You do it when no one sees it.

Mm-hmm.

Right.

That's the intimacy I'm talking about.

Mm-hmm.

An intimacy of prayer and being
with him that no one else sees.

Mm-hmm.

That you don't want anybody to see.

Yeah.

Because you need that
loneliness to connect with him.

That's the intimacy I'm talking about.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And that's the intimacy that I want
for my life, and I am amazed at

what God has done in my life so far.

I think

Knowing Christ has been the best thing
that has ever happened in my life.

Me too.

Same.

Yeah.

And, and I w- I don't wanna be
a Christian that walks blindly.

I want a Christian that will
have access to the full blessing.

Like David said, "I wanna live your
promises during my time of the living."

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

So make…

The table is full.

Like I said yesterday, I said the table
of the Lord is full It's your choice to,

to have access to that or to just rely
on crumbles that falls on the ground.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

What do you- That's a good
way to look at it Table.

Yeah.

Yeah.

What do you choose?

I want the table.

Yeah.

You want the table?

I think you want the table.

Yeah.

And table comes with sacrifices,
spending time in His presence

and making it a priority.

Yeah.

And just- It's such a
good sacrifice, though.

Yeah.

Like, the payoff is so good.

Yeah.

It's worth anything.

That's good.

That is very good.

And I just wanna know how, how
young were you when you realized

your authority that you have?

Like, 'cause I've always looked
at you as you walk in authority

over, you know, the enemy.

How young were you when that
started, and how did it start?

Do you remember?

Um, 'Cause I know you,
you didn't grow up here.

You grew up- No, I, I didn't grow up here.

When I, I gave my life to
Christ when I was 14 years old.

Um, I did not really fully unders-
I did not really understand the

authority I had in Christ back then.

I think that I started, uh, um, really
getting the authority that I had when

I was going through hard time, times.

In order for a se- you know,
there's a season in life.

The Bible talks about season, season
of grief- Mm-hmm … season of rest.

I'm doing my season of rest.

And season of rest is not a
season when you just play.

Season of rest is when you
actually take time to build

yourself for the next season.

Mm-hmm.

Yes.

That's an important distinction.

Absolutely.

Yeah.

When, when, when people go to the war,
when they come back, they don't rest.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-mm.

They, They prepare.

They train.

Yes.

That's true.

Exactly.

So I'm doing my period of training,
but I started, I needed it to get

out of my season- Mm-hmm … or
else I would've been stuck there.

There's no way I was gonna
stay 40 years in the desert.

I refuse to be the Israelites.

I don't want to be the Israelites.

I don't either.

I love it so much.

No.

No.

Yeah.

So I, I, I asked God that,
"What do you want from me?"

Like, "What do you want me to do?

What do you want from me?"

And I had to, I had to give up
my mi- I said, "God," I always

tell Him that, I say, "It's not
about me, but it's about you.

And if at the end of the day I
lose everything, Lord, give me the

faith to still give you the glory."

And one prayer that I always make
every single day is I ask God to

detach me from the things of the world.

Now, it doesn't mean I
don't like good things.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

But they d- they do not dominate me.

Yeah.

Yeah.

They do not define me.

They do not, they do not…

You know, I always pray that
prayer every single day.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Good.

So I, I understood the f- I had to
understand authority of Christ when

I went through, um, very difficult
times, and I saw God's work in my life.

He just spoke to me.

I don't know.

I, I think when I was a
child, I was oppressed.

I'm not gonna get into the details, but
I was oppressed not by people, but I was

oppressed a lot by the, the, the, um-
Enemy … like oppression by the enemy.

Yeah.

I used to hear voices, and I knew
it wasn't from, it wasn't normal.

Mm-hmm.

And, and then that's when I
seek God more 'cause I knew it

wasn't, it was out of the norm.

You know, when you have the Spirit of
God, you know when it's out of the norm.

Mm-hmm.

He just gives you that, that,
uh, um, the Spirit of Go-

Discernment … discernment, yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, spirit of discernment.

So my authority, the more you grow in the
Lord, the more you know your authority.

Mm-hmm.

So growth pushed me to know my authority.

Yeah.

Yeah, so- You remind me of Nehemiah.

Like, I wrote down Nehemiah- … um,
6:3 when you were talking about, like,

you didn't have time for the ear.

You had stuff to do.

Mm-hmm.

And, uh, it just reminded me of when
he was like, "No, I can't come down.

I can't come talk to you."

Like, "I'm working here."

Mm-hmm.

And I'm just like, oh, I love it.

I love it so much.

Yeah, that is good.

Yeah.

My authority is just, even when
I jog outside and there was a

bulldog that was about to bite me.

Uh, this, this another
testimony, you know.

I wear, I wear earphones.

I was in the Spirit glorifying God, and
I heard something to- told me, "Stop.

Turn around.

There's a dog that, that's
about to attack you."

And I said, "Did I hear this
right or I heard this wrong?"

So I, I stop and I pause and I turn.

Literally, there was a
dog about to bite me.

So I turn and I rebuke the dog.

The dog looked at me.

And, you know, it's funny because
the Lord guided me on how I should

defend myself against the dog.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Anyway, the dog ended up running away
from me, but it was- … it was quite,

'cause I used to have PTSD from dogs,
but God set me free from that, too.

Yeah.

So I am not scared of dogs.

Yeah.

So.

That's great.

That is great.

Anyway.

Wow.

Well, and so h- just a norm- if,
you know, we're talking mostly,

I'm sure, to Christians- Yeah, yeah

So you said become intimate with God.

I mean, I think you've kind
of demonstrated get into

the word too, you know.

Um, is there any other advice
you would give to people who

are going through a storm?

Like- Everything, you gotta pray about it.

Every single thing From when you're,
if you're going on a trip, you

gotta ask God if it's His will.

Go to work, I take authority
and I ask God to give me the

love to show to my coworkers.

Yeah.

It's a daily walk.

Yeah.

Completely da- Because I can tell
you during my storm, I cannot

remember spending two minutes without
thinking about God or talking to Him.

He was my constant.

Yeah.

There is no way I would have made
it without being that fanatic.

I say fanatic 'cause it's-
Yeah … it's l- l- Well, yeah.

That's it … to that extent.

Yeah.

You know?

We're in the time that you have to.

Right, right.

Yeah.

Right.

And when you understand the
powers out there, you understand

that they don't sleep.

Yeah.

We, at least we can sleep.

You know?

Yeah.

We have that peace, and God
sometimes gives us rest, you know?

Mm-hmm.

But He, He was, He, it's,
it's, it's, it's intentional.

You have to be intentional.

Mm-hmm.

It's not convenient.

No.

It is, has to be intentional.

And if you don't have
that drive, ask for it.

Mm-hmm.

I do ask- Yeah … for it.

I say, "F- God, I want that fire for you."

Mm-hmm.

"I want you…"

All God needs is your will.

I said, "I want you to
use my will and expand it.

I want to be, I want that fire for you.

I want you, not me."

You know?

The me has to die.

Yeah.

And so, in, the more, then you have
the desire to pray just comes in.

And- Mm-hmm … one thing I
love about David is his heart.

Mm-hmm.

Um, one thing that God has taught
me with my walk, He's like, "What

attracts Me more than anything, it's
not the demonstrations, it's not the

miracles, it's your h- it's the heart.

I want the heart."

Because out of the heart comes
the fruits, and the Bible talks

about the fruits of the Spirit.

And that's how you know that you're
actually influenced by the Holy Spirit,

is by having the fruits of the Spirit.

Yeah.

You know, gentleness,
kindness, compassion.

You know, um, I've seen, n- I'm
not pointing fingers, but I've seen

Christians before that are very
nice, very kind in saying words,

but they don't have the fruits.

I'm sorry.

Right.

They, they don't have,
like, any compassion.

They curse.

They talk bad about other people.

That is a reflection of,
of your heart, actually.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

So one thing that I always, that
intimacy with God, is asking God

every single morning to mend my heart.

Yeah.

You know?

Yeah.

So.

That's a good way to start the day.

Mm-hmm.

It is.

And it also speaks to
the pray without ceasing.

I never understood that as a child.

Me neither.

How can you pray without ceasing?

Me too.

I never did.

But when you're in tune, you know,
your spirit is always in tune.

Mm-hmm.

You know, I tell the kids in children's
church, I was like, "You ever

wake up singing a Christian song?"

Because your spirit doesn't sleep.

Mm-hmm.

And it still can be
worshiping- Yeah … with God.

Yeah.

And even when you're asleep sometimes,
you s- you can sense your spirit- Yeah.

Mm-hmm … praising God, you know?

Yeah.

Yeah.

And your dreams becomes dreams of victory.

Yeah.

Yes.

It's true.

Yeah, they do.

Yeah.

And it becomes very clear
when the dream is not of God.

Mm-hmm.

Yes.

And you can evaluate, is this warning?

Is this something, like, I
need to look at and evaluate?

Or is this just straight
up I'm rebuking this?

Like, is this not coming, is
this just to mess with me?

Yeah.

And at that point, get outta here.

away.

Yeah.

But that's so good.

Yes.

That is so good.

I like it.

Yeah.

Is there anything else
that was on your heart?

'Cause we're, we have a
question that we ask everybody.

Sure.

Um, no, I mean, uh, that's
what I had to share today.

Um- That's powerful … I just wanted
to encourage to, you know, God, one

thing also that helped me to change
my lifestyle is God does the work

when it comes to trying to live
a life that he wants us to live.

It's not a work that we do,
it's, it's God that changes us.

Mm.

Uh, I thought I had to do the
work, but it's not mine to do.

It's God's to do, and all he wants you is
just to have the will, and he will change,

change, completely change you and set you
free from certain bondage, strongholds,

or certain struggles, you know?

Yeah.

So that's good.

It makes it easy if
you- It- … can let go.

It does.

It, it makes it, it's like
you said, it's his problem.

Mm-hmm.

Like, you're willing to do it, but
you also have to be willing to do it.

Yeah.

Absolutely.

And listen and be obedient.

Yeah, absolutely.

Man.

So good.

So good.

Yeah.

Okay.

We ask everybody, um, if you go back
in time to a Bible, you know, story,

um, and witness it in real time- Mm-hmm

besides the crucifixion and the
resurrection, what would you

want to witness in real time?

I would love to meet Jesus in person.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Like when he was- When
he was a human being.

Yeah.

It's, it's definitely when he told his
disciples that they had a privilege that

a lot of people, a lot of Christians would
have wanted to witness that, you know?

Mm-hmm.

I would have loved to
meet Jesus, you know?

Yeah.

Yeah.

And I know I will meet him one day.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know, when, you know, uh, you…

One thing that I always say is, you
know, when I leave my life, I leave

my life as I want to be raptured away.

I don't wanna stay.

That's like, I don't know about you all.

Right?

You know, I said, you, you know,
you wanna do things your way, I do

things, I wanna do things God way.

I want my lamp, like the, the, like-
Yeah … when a pastor was preaching,

it's something that I always told
myself before, and I say exactly

confirms what I've always told myself.

I don't read the Bible past,
this is me personally- Mm-hmm

what's gonna happen after the Rapture,
'cause I'm gonna be raptured out.

Mm-hmm.

The rest is none of my business.

I honestly don't.

Yeah, yeah.

I am so focused, and may God
help me stay that way- Mm-hmm.

Yeah … into making sure
that I'm raptured out.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

And I tell my daughter, I told her,
I said, "Look, you gotta understand

that Chris- a Christian walk
is, it's, it's a personal thing.

If you choose a different way,
I will be rejoicing with Christ.

I'm probably not gonna remember you."

Wow, yeah.

Yeah.

I told her, I said, "Do not
accept Christ because of me.

Accept Christ of, because of who He is."

Mm-hmm.

Right.

You know, I said, "You gotta
know Him for yourself."

Yeah, yeah.

You see me like this, and I talk about
the things that has happened to me

and the kind of parent I am and what I
don't do that other people do, you know.

And I said, "It's because I
fear the Lord, and I want a

relationship, but that's for me."

Yeah, yeah.

You know?

And I can give you the best of
what I received, which is Christ.

Yeah.

But it has to be for you.

Right, I want that for you- Yeah
… but you have to want it for you.

Have to make the choice.

Yeah.

Yeah.

We said, I told her- Christ
doesn't force anybody Mm-mm.

You gotta want it.

Mm-hmm.

But I said that this is
the consequences, though.

If you don't choose Him, this is the
consequences, is do you wanna live

your li- eternity without Christ?

There will be no second chance.

Mm-hmm.

Right.

So I, in other words, I'm
gonna be raptured away.

Yeah.

Me too.

Me too.

I wanna be raptured away.

Yep.

I hope for it every single day.

So, hey- Exactly … every single day.

Sometimes we talk to God about
could, is there something we

could do to make it happen?

Just for us.

Like Kerrye's- Yes … Kerrye's
got something that she's willing

to do, and when God says the thing-
Like I'm gonna- … she'll do it.

But, uh- But she's not doing
it until God says the thing

I've, I've asked Him if He
could just go ahead and take me.

I, I'm, don't have a- No … I
don't want to make that happen.

I, I, yeah.

No.

I understand exactly what you- Yeah
… because I had a dream that someone shot

me and I was dying, and I went to heaven.

I said, "Oh, my problems are over."

Yeah.

You know, all of it is.

And I went up, and I, I c-
actually sensed my spirit leaving

my body, believe it or not.

And I went up, and I was going
up, and I heard a voice tell me,

"Where do you think you're going?"

I said, "I'm going to heaven."

He said, "No, you're not done."

Ugh.

He said, "I still have a lot of
work for you-" Mm-hmm "… so go

right back where you came from."

And I went right back in
my body, and I woke up.

And from that day, the
fear of death left me.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yep.

Yes.

So that's funny.

When you, when you catch a glimpse
of the other side, you're just like,

"This place is-" Yeah "… no good."

No.

Mm-mm.

It's, it won't compare.

No.

And I try to…

I remember as a kid, I was like, "I
don't wanna go until I've gotten married,

had kids," and you know, that's great.

I mean, I love- Mm-hmm … I love
my family, but it doesn't compare-

Mm-mm … to what we're gonna have.

Exactly.

So.

Absolutely.

And who, what presence of God that
we're gonna be in all the time.

Yeah.

Absolutely.

So, yeah.

Absolutely.

Feel the same way.

I mean, I'm not trying
to help God out with it.

No.

But anytime He's ready-

He can take me on out.

Absolutely.

Yep.

Absolutely.

Yeah.

Well, this was so good.

So, so good.

So powerful.

Yeah.

So I really thank you, and I
w- I hope that you will come

back- Yeah … and share more.

For sure.

I hope so, too.

You're a great speaker.

And God willing.

So- Mm-hmm … um, yeah.

And, and sharing this just
encourages me as well.

I'm not worthy of any of this.

I'm not any special than anybody.

It's everybody has full access to that.

Yeah.

And the Word of God says that
you should know the truth,

and it should set you free.

The truth of God is what sets you free.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I think people, it's, like you said,
it's accessible to all the believers.

We just have such a hard time grasping
hold of the fact that it's there.

Mm-hmm.

Absolutely.

Take it.

And I think we're gonna see that
one day when we get to heaven, like,

"I could have had this and this."

Yeah.

All the stuff we left on the table.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Like, I could have walked in this too.

Mm-hmm.

And that, I feel like sometimes
that might be the, what do they

say, the 30 minutes in the Bible,
the thir- the time of weeping.

Oh, yeah.

Like, I missed out on some things
I should have taken advantage of.

Yeah.

You know?

But- Like the way God wants us to-
Yeah … like the things He has

planned for us, and we just were too
timid- Yeah … to- To take advantage.

Yeah.

Absolutely.

Like, it's there for us.

Yep.

But we really appreciate you coming.

Thank you so much.

It's so good.

You guys, I, I really appreciate.

I thank you.

Yeah.

Well, we're, we're happy
to have you back too.

Okay.

Excellent.

All right.

Okay.

Until next time.

Yeah.

Until next time.

Thank you.

Bye.

Bye.
