Hey, if you want to email the show, wake up classy97 at gmail.com. You can uh reach out anytime you want.
Yeah, come on, email us.
Come on, email us. Send us an email.
Wake up classy97 at gmail.com. Uh there is a woman who discovered that her boyfriend had been secretly keeping a spreadsheet that rated every dinner she ever cooked for him. And how do you feel about that?
I one did not think that that's what you were gonna say. Uh-huh. I didn't think that was the information the spreadsheet contained. Nah. Uh secondly, um. I actually don't think I would mind that.
Most of the meals scored a six or higher. Okay.
But out of ten? I I would assume. Okay.
Uh, this story blew up on Reddit. A bunch of people. I mean, we're talking thousands of people have weighed in. Some people thinking it's weird and insensitive. Others are defending the boyfriend, saying that he might just be a data-loving spreadsheet nerd who likes to track everything. Yeah. Um, a few commenters even said they keep similar notes on recipes and family favorites. Now, we have like an at-home food delivery thing, like uh like a meal service that we get meals from. Uh-huh. And every time we have one, you have the whole family rate the meal. Yeah. Uh, and we're rating those out of five, and the kids hate that. They go, why out of five?
Well, if you rate them on the app, then it
like gives you recipes more in tune to what you like.
Yeah, so we rate them out of five, and then we do an average. There's four of us, so if you get a couple of threes and a five and a one, then you can add them all up, divide by four, and that's the star rating you give it in the app. Correct. Right? Yeah. Makes sense. Yeah. So we rate meals anyway, but not necessarily based on whether I it was my recipe or if if I cooked it well, but it's just based on what the meal ended up being, right? Yeah.
Yeah. So anyway, I don't think rating the meals is the issue. I think she's offended more so that uh she feels judged by him because he was secretly rating her performance without her knowing.
But was he secretly doing it, or if was he just like more like embarrassed? Like I like spreadsheets and I like to rate things, so I'm just gonna do this, but she doesn't necessarily need to know about this because this is kind of nerdy behavior.
Well, here's the story. According to the Reddit post that I'm looking at right now, uh, she said my boyfriend has a spreadsheet rating dinners that I've made him. Um she found it and said, What is this? And he immediately ran over and got flustered. This was just before he left for work. She said, I'm speechless, not in a good way.
He's always thankful and a good partner, but this is making me feel very weird and judged. And so she's not totally into it, but let's see what kind of stuff she made. So, spaghetti and meatballs. Um, I don't know what data he's got here, or maybe this is number of times she's made it. I don't know what this is. Um then a rating of 7.7. Oh, but but apparently 282 times she's made this. Okay. Because he's this is a lot of they've been together a long time. Uh-huh.
And she's made spaghetti and meatballs 282 times. He gave it a 7.7. Its average rating is a 7.5. It's trending up. He's got trending data. He's keeping track of every meal every day. On the 27th, she made spaghetti meatballs. This was the 282nd time she's made this meal. This time it got a 7.7.
The average rating for this meal over 282 times is seven and a half. It is trending up. What's trending down, you might ask? Chicken stir-fry. A hundred and five times she's made that meal. This time it got a six. Its average is a six point five. It's on the downward trend.
He's been keeping the Keeping a spreadsheet for a long time.
He's been keeping this for a link to the show.
I'm trying to put myself in her shoes as like a how would I feel if I discovered a spreadsheet that you kept of me. I don't think I'd be offended by what you were writing. I think I'd be more offended that you kept it as secret. Just that you didn't want to share it with me. Okay. That's all. Yeah.
Uh taco salad trending down big time. It's been made 90 times. Got a six this time. Average rating of 7.4. That's not good. No. That was not a good taco salad night. Not good.
Also a big downward trend. Uh, we talked about chicken stir-fry multiple times when chicken stir-fry was made. Bad. She's not good at chicken stir fry, she's not good at taco salad.
Taco salad is like one of these.
Lentil soup and bread also trending down. Oh, funny. All right. Well. Oh, funny indeed. Yeah.
Okay, let's start the show. Oh, okay. Okay.
Am Boy, am I just tired today? I don't know. How are you feeling? Refreshed.
Like a daisy.
I uh why don't I believe you?
And try into manifest it. Oh. If you believe it, it'll happen. Right? Uh, yeah. I feel refreshed. Completely uh. I don't know what I'm trying to say. It's too early.
That's the issue. You're you're exactly right. And listen, I know there's other folks up. I pass them on the way to work. I know there's other people. Yeah.
Some people wake up way earlier than this, even. Good for you. This is not my jam. Why did I agree to this? I don't know.
Uh every every time. Like I've been doing morning shows for years and years and years. And I just don't think you ever fully adjust to uh trying to get enough sleep and then waking up and then getting right to work. When I worked construction, I had to be on the on the job at six. Like you had to be at the shop at six, loaded up.
Sometimes you have to be there a little bit earlier because you've got a six o'clock appointment for whatever you're doing. Yeah. Those were hard days. And I was working until six, seven, eight, nine, whatever time in the night. Construction's a tough one, especially during the summer. Yeah. Uh, because you're also outside in the heat. It's tough work.
That was hard. I was very pregnant. Yeah. During those days. I didn't see you all day. And then you'd come home and go immediately to sleep. Oh, yeah. So tuckered out. I know, Abby. Be like, hey. Good night.
Yeah. No kidding. So this is better than that. Yeah. It is. You know? There is that. They say good to see you. Yeah. And then we get to hang out, you know, every morning, which is nice. I like that.
Somebody asked me yesterday. You still on the radio with your husband? Said, yeah. Is that still fun? Yeah, it's really, really fun. Is that still fun? You still like that? Yeah, I'm having a good time. Well, that's good. We just give each other, you know, we just tease each other and then we get paid for it. I know. It's pretty cool.
crazy Somebody was like, you know what'd be fun is if you did the morning show. And then they were like, you know what else would be fun? If you uh did that also with your wife every day.
And then we both gave you both money to do that. Great. Love it.
Smart. Best idea they've ever made. I I agree. Good decision and best idea.
Best idea they ever made. That's what I said. No, I know. Oh. Best idea they ever made.
Good morning. I am never uh ever going to understand how animals travel so far. This is a 10-year-old border collie named Rio, who made the most of his summer by embarking on a cross-country adventure that ended with a happy reunion with his family.
So that's good. Back in July, Rio went missing from his home in Oklahoma, leaving his worried owner to search everywhere. And it was especially scary to the dog's owner because Rio is an elaborate escape artist who tends to bolt when he gets scared.
Oh. Well, somehow Rio made it all the way from Oklahoma to Greensboro, North Carolina, where he was taken in by a local animal shelter. And staff at the shelter scanned his micro trip chip and discovered his identity, called the owner who immediately got on the next flight to North Carolina.
It was over a thousand miles. Rio. How? Yeah. In how many days?
Well, this was back in July, so in about a month or so. But by the way, the little microchip is how he was able to be reunited to microchip your pets. Microchip your pets. That's a PSA for you. For sure. But Rio is now back at home in Oklahoma playing with his nine-month-old puppy sister, which is hopefully enough to keep him in the gate.
It's crazy. That is crazy. Stay put. Dago.
I mean, just out there running, I guess. Go where the wind takes you. You know? Unbelievable. A thousand mile cross-country trip from Oklahoma to North Carolina. How do they do it? I mean, they just aren't sticking out their thumb on the side of the road. I know that much.
They just got legs.
And they got a gun. go. They got that dewclaw hanging out.
They're duke law. Gross.
I'm trying to figure out how they get there. Dude. Dewclaws are gross. It's a thousand miles. Unbelievable.
I know, dude. I don't.
I walked 50 in six days. Yeah, but animals will, it's just their nature. To just run. Yeah. Run free. Yeah.
They used to be wolves, remember?
Sure. Tell that to our dog. That's some good news.
We were out um school shopping over the weekend, and Emory said, I said, look at that shirt. It's so cute. You should get that shirt. And she said, nah, if I wear that, I'm gonna be a LARP. And I went. Uh I know LARP to be an acronym for live action role play. That's right. Which is like a like a renaissance fair.
Yeah, or like anyone who does like medieval sword battles, yeah. Uh and those kinds of things. Yeah, or they will do it with like foam swords or that certainly is a term that I learned decades ago. Same. Yeah, we're going LARPing.
So I was confused by her wording on that. And I said, What exactly does that mean? And she said, It means when somebody wears something that's not typical of what they normally wear. And I said, Oh, like a poser. Yeah, and she goes, Poser what? Yep. I go, a poser. Yeah.
So here's the shift. The term comes from live action role playing where gamers dress up as and act out as fantasy characters, which you know, technically is turned into like cosplay as well. Online now, youth use it as a modern way to call someone a poser, a try hard, or a faker. Uh and people LARP to fit in, to look wealthy, to gain aura uh by faking and in in interest or a lifestyle. You want to know some common example?
Sure. Gym photos. What do you mean? Going to a trendy workout class just to post a selfie without actually caring about fitness.
Uh-huh. Claiming you love a sports team or a music artist only after they became popular. All the Seahawk fans. Because they won the Super Bowl. Yeah.
Or all of the Chiefs fans because they love Taylor. Uh the aesthetic of like dressing like a skateboarder or wearing outdoor gear when you don't skate or hike or camp or any of those kinds of things. Poser. Yeah, it's it's poser or try-hard or faker. Uh, but now it's just LARPing
or that's
not what LARPing is being a larger is different. Not anymore.
Well, she had never heard the word poser. And so she looked at me when I said that word and she was like, I don't even know what that means. I'm like, no, you don't know what it means. Yeah. Look at that poser. I've been here long before you.
This is true. Math says that is correct.
Stop trying to act like you know everything. Yeah, teenager girl. Is that what you call her? Hey, teenager girl.
Stop acting like you know everything.
It's a poser, not a LARP. Let's get facts.
I mean straight. If you're into the speak and you want to sound cool, which I know you do. Me? Yeah. Then you gotta start using
That's not I'll
never just LARP your way into it.
I won't posing is better. A poser is a better, cooler term than a LARP.
It is the old person in the room. You gotta keep up, or you're gonna get left behind. That's the way it goes. No, I'll never keep up. Posers forever. And all of the young people are like, yeah, she'll never be.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for everything. Okay. Now you're just handing out advice. Yes. I tried on some clothes when I was dress shopping or school shopping with Emery, and I said, Oh, I don't like this one. And she goes, Why not? It's cute. I go, Well, I look dumb. And she said, talk to me when you've changed your mind. Wow.
And then she walked away. I like the attitude.
I liked it too. I like it.
I say stuff like this all the time, but I've never said you can talk to me when you change your mind. I'll be over here not listening to that.
I know. It was really good, actually. And uh good job, Emery.
Thanks for that's good solid advice. Call me out on it. Yeah. Quit talking mean about yourself. I'm gonna talk to you when you've changed your mind. I know. It was good. Did you change your mind? Did you relook at the outfit?
Uh no, because it did, in fact, look dumb. Oh. But not because of me. I just decided it was much too young of an outfit for a 45-year-old woman.
Do I know what this outfit was?
Yeah, it was that jean dress. Oh. It was a good cool dress. Yeah, it was.
But you you felt like it was too young.
Well, it was too short for one. So there's no way I would have been able to do that.
No, it was barely above the knee.
Scandalous. I just liked I like the attitude our daughter had. No, I do too. Yeah.
Talk to me when you've changed your mind, because you're being ridiculous.
As a mom who is constantly trying to lead by example and show our daughter how to talk positively to herself. Yeah. How's that going? I don't always succeed.
But she recognized it. So that's good. She said, This is this is unhealthy. You go ahead and work on that and talk to me when you change it.
And she walked away. She didn't even leave me a chance to respond. Nope.
That's good. Good for her. I know. We're doing something, right? Well, and she taught you a little lesson.
She sure did. I could use a few more of those lessons.
We used to uh regularly pay for that for you to learn some lessons.
I know. I know. Okay. And my therapist?
So you're talking about. That's what I'm talking about. Yeah.
I used to go there. Right. And then I graduated. That's right. Because I learned so many lessons.
That's correct.
I was good. I said, I don't I don't need therapy anymore. Yeah. I've learned all I need to learn. Okay. There are days when I go, oh man. I could really use a therapist right now. You don't say.
There are days when I'm like, you could use a therapist right now. Me.
There are days when I say that about you. Oh, yeah? Yeah. Yeah.
I haven't had one.
I should.
You absolutely. I know. I absolutely agree.
You've got some, you've got some unresolved stuff to work on. I do. You gotta get it out. Yeah. It's festering deep inside of you. Yeah, it is.
I didn't realize I had festering unresolved emotion.
Go talk to someone. That'll be the first thing they say.
You have festering unresolved emotion. That's what they'll say.
Yeah. You'll walk in and they'll be like, whoa, whoa, whoa. I can read you. Yeah. I can feel the energy.
You have unresolved trauma. Fest talk about it. Festering. Okay. Look, I I am all for it. I think therapy's great. I think more people should go. I think it's fantastic. Yeah. But it's a service available to people. Yep. I just have not made the time or found a therapist to go to. Those are the things I need to do. Yeah. Yeah. And you can.
Most insurances cover them. Is that right? Yeah. Here's your PSA for therapy today. It's great. It's good stuff. Good stuff.
And sometimes you can graduate from it. Yeah.
And then you'll have to go back for another lesson or two. She's on standby. Is that right? My therapist. Yeah. When I graduated, I said, do you think that like I could come back if I needed you? She said, Oh yeah, I'll always be here. Oh. That's so nice. I know. What if I try to call her up and she's moved? Yeah, she's like, I'm not hearing it. You lied. Yeah.
She said, talk to me when you change your mind.
We watched Hook over the weekend. Yes. You know, hook with Robin Williams and Rufio. There you are, Peter. Yeah. Now I played my school, my high school did a production of Peter Pan. That's right. In 1999.
Okay. And so you were a senior? I was a senior in high school.
Okay. And I was in theater for years and years and years, but this was my big stage role. What did you do? Prior? Yeah. I was like some background characters. Or I helped with prop. Yeah. Or I helped with props or I helped with like set design and different things.
Okay, but this was one of your first like bigger stage roles playing. Old Wendy. Oh boy. Go ahead.
And then you asked if there was video. I said, yeah, there is video.
There is. I feel like I've seen some of it.
You have. Because my mom recorded when she wasn't supposed to.
You weren't supposed to record. She brought the VHS recorder. How did she not get spotted with that? It isn't small.
But I told you, I said, I don't want you to see it because I was so bad. I was not good. I was the only one who had to be mic'd because I couldn't project. Yeah. And every time we had a rehearsal, my director was like, project. And I was like, I am. Right.
And then there are times when I go, what'd you say? And you go, you need to have your hearing checked. And I go, you need to be mic'd up in real life. I hear you just fine all day on the show. Okay.
So I said, I don't want you to see that video because I was so bad. And I don't want you to think that I'm a nerd. Well, you are a nerd. And you said, Oh, we're long past those days. Right. I've seen you. I know who you are. Let me see you as old Wendy. No, it's so bad. It's very, very bad.
Is it on the same tape as your drill team video? Also a winner. You were in the big parade. Was it Fourth of July? It must have been. It was the fourth of the book. And you were getting ready to do the Fourth of July parade and uh in the video, this old home video. And you were the best marcher on the drill team. I'm not kidding.
No one marches like you do. And you are not a nerd. I was like eight years old. Yeah, you had big Stephanie Tanner energy.
I did for sure. Blonde ponytail, shirt tied to the side. Bangs. What looked like cut off stirrup pants. No, they're just what they look like. They looked like you had a pair of stirrup pants, but then they got cut off.
Yeah, that's actually a problem.
He had on some sneakers and you were drilling. Marching.
Yeah, I was marching. Right.
What else did the drill team do besides the march and the parade? We had a dance. You did.
Yeah, we would stop and do a dance. Can I see it? If I remember it. I'm ready. I don't remember it. Three, two, one, go. I don't know it. I was eight years old.
Well, maybe muscle memory's in there.
I do remember my scene from Peter Pan. Yeah. Because it's old Wendy and Peter Pan comes to visit. And old Wendy has her daughter Moira. Right. Sleeping. And she goes to close the window.
Okay. And Peter Pan comes in. And I cannot remember what my lines were. I think it's Peter, you scared me. Oh. Oh, Peter. I was frightened. You sound like a BG. Yeah. I was fat. Barry Gibbs. Yeah.
That's right. That's that would be how I would play old Wendy, is as Barry G Barry, yeah. Peter Pan. Never grow. It'd be great. It'd be so funny. Barry Gibb was old Wendy.
Barry Gibb is anybody would be hilarious. Right. Who else could he play? Just old Wendy. I just like old Wendy. It'd be pretty funny. Or Captain Hook. Yeah.
Well, that's hey that's that here. It's great. It's great.
Ah, fun. Well, let's find that tape.
I don't know where it is.
And I'll be right back. We can post it on the internet forever.
No.
What? Why? Come on.
You like Charlie Brown. And you always have. Yes. And you found a Charlie Brown mug. Yeah, it's a great mug.
It was on clearance. And so I went, I can I can afford an $8 mug, I think.
And it's super cute.
And it's like uh three-dimensional uh the shirt pattern, and I like it. It's a nice mug.
It is a nice mug. You had a coworker noticed it on Friday, and he said, that's a cool Charlie Brown mug. And I said, Josh loves Charlie Brown.
He's walked in a couple of times and said, that's an excellent mug.
Yes. And then he said, Well, if Josh loves Charlie Brown, does that mean that you're Lucy? And I said, No, I'm Peppermint Patty. And he said, Why Peppermint Patty? I said, Because Lucy didn't love Charlie Brown, but Peppermint Patty did.
Okay. And he said, No, you're more of a Lucy. And I said, What's that mean? And he said, You're the type of girl who holds the football. And then let's go at the last minute. And I went, how dare you?
I mean, uh, here's the thing. Like Peppermint Patty. But do you know her full name?
Peppermint Patty? Yeah. I do not. Patricia.
Uh, her last name, because of course she has a last name, it's Charlie Brown. Okay. Her last name is Richard. Patricia Reichard. But she's the one that always goes, Oh, hey, Chuck. Yeah. Hey, Chuck. Yeah. Yeah.
Because Peppermint Patty loves Charlie Brown. Right.
But Charlie Brown likes the girl with red hair.
Oh. She doesn't, he doesn't like Lucy. I thought he was in love with Lucy. No. Oh, okay. I don't think so.
The little red-haired girl is who he's infatuated with. Oh, I don't have red hair. Okay. I'm not Charlie Brown. Just because I'm a round headed bald guy with a goofy disposition who's kind of the red-haired girl's name is Heather.
Oh.
I don't know that I've ever known that, but that's Charlie Brown's lifelong secret crush, is the girl with a little red haired girl.
Yeah, he's too shy to talk to her for most of the series. That is correct. Look at us doing some deep diving on Charlie Brown.
I've known that. I did not know her name was Heather, though. Huh. Heather Wolf. Yeah. Wold.
Okay. This is why I'm Peppermint Patty. She has a clear crush on Charlie Brown. Yeah. Though he often misses the hints. No kidding. Opinions are mixed on whether they make a good romantic couple or work better as close friends. Yeah. Just want to be close friends.
She's also super athletic. She's a fierce natural athlete. She excels at sports like baseball ice skating and often manages her own baseball team. I don't know if you're a peppermint patty there, sports gay. That's rude. How dare you? That's so mean. I'm just messing with you. Hey, Chuck.
I guess I can't be peppermint patty either.
And then her friend Marcy, who follows her around calling her sir, is pretty fun. Okay, sir. Where are we going, sir? Yeah. Anyway, it's a good it's a good mug.
Do you think that I'm a closer to a Lucy where I will move my finger from the football when it goes to kick it? I said, Yeah, I kind of would do that. Yeah. Just as a just as a goof.
Well, that's what she's doing it for. For giggles. It makes her happy. I know. Yeah, she's doing it because she's like, oh, I forgot I was doing this. She does it because she's mean.
Yeah, I'm kind of more of a Lucy. He's right. I'll never be Peppermint Patty.
Yes, you will. Come on, Chuck. You Uh, you brought home the cereal. This delicious cereal called Honeyos. Honey O's, because there's uh an exclamation. So good. And I was reading the box, because we were having some last night.
Yeah. And on the box it said, like, you could have regular cereal, or you could have ooze. And I went, that's interesting marketing. But the they've got uh what they call the good stuff in the middle. They do have the good stuff in the middle. Yeah. Yeah. What is it?
I don't know. The good stuff. It's just the good stuff.
That's all they say on the box is the good stuff in the middle. And I went, what is it? Did you look it up? No. Oh. Look it up. Well, I I couldn't be bothered. But here's here's the real thing about it. It tore up my mouth. Really bad.
We didn't get a comment from somebody who said that stuff is good, but it rips up the inside of my mouth.
My mouth is torn up.
You were quiet lying in bed last night. And I said, What are you thinking about? And you go, my mouth hurts from eating that cereal.
It's all torn up. The roof of my mouth is all ripped up. I don't I feel like my gums are all like inflamed from it.
A delicate mouth. My gum feels actually now that you say that though, this morning my gum felt a little bit more. On the side where you chew. Huh? Yeah. Yeah.
That stuff is like razors in my gums in my roof of my mouth. I'm all messed up because of that cereal. What is in it? The good stuff is razor blades, I think. No, it's so good. I like the flavor a lot. And I didn't have an issue eating it dry. But for some reason, when I ate it with the milk. Weird. It hurts. It is captain crunched my mouth. It is.
Okay, hold on. The good stuff in the middle. The good stuff in the middle is a denser, crunchy core baked into the center of some of the O shapes. Yeah. Uh older versions.
When the cereal was made by Quaker, they featured a distinct rice, honey, and gram mixture. Uh-huh. But now they don't do that anymore. Uh they have become I don't know what it is. It doesn't really say what it is.
That's right. And that's on purpose. And that's why they just say the good stuff in the middle.
They don't say what it is. But I'm telling you, something cuts up your mouth when you eat that cereal with milk.
A blend crunchy bits of corn, oat, and rice trapped inside the center ring.
No, because that's what they said the big O's are made out of. Because on the box it says we start with and then we put the good stuff in the middle. Yeah, I don't know what the good stuff is.
Nobody does. It's just science. It's just made up.
It's made of it's it's science. There's science in the middle. Yeah. Yeah. It's made up food. I know. And it tears your mouth up. It didn't mind. That didn't bother me. The flavor's nice. And I like eating it dry, and I'll probably just do that with it. Because I did not have a problem carrying around a handful of it and chewing on it. But when it was in a bowl with milk, it really changes and it's bad. And like that's why I can't eat Cap and Crunch. Same thing happens. I get a torn-up mouth. Sorry, buddy. I just wanted you to know. I just here's the other part. I'm saying honey. Oh no.
I well eat them all then. They're all I told you, I'll eat them dry. I'm just not having a bowl. Okay. I really think there's something to be said about having cold cereal at 9 o'clock at night. It's not a bad way to live. I was sitting at the table, it was nine o'clock, and I was eating a bowl of those, and I went, This is actually pretty great. Okay.
You're having a regression, is what you were having. Slip back. Yeah, but in time.
It wasn't even for breakfast. I was just eating it as like a snack. Yeah. I was like, cold cereal is a snack, it's delicious. Delicious. Well, anyway, be careful with them.
They are sharp. So we got married 21 years ago. Uh-huh.
And we were young 20 year olds. Yeah, what? 2005? 23? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
And we were not so rich. Well, no. No. And I got a ring. You bought me a ring. I love this ring. I helped pick that pick out this ring. I love it. I've had it since we got married 21 years ago. Yeah.
A woman I was talking to yesterday goes. Oh, I love your ring. It's so little. Oh. And I went. Thank you. Did I did I mess up? No. No. You just don't mess up, but I went, thanks. I don't know. That's a nice thing to tell somebody.
And then and then you say, yeah, well. Radio.
No, I said, yeah, I don't like big gaudy jewelry. Okay. And she said, it's so little. It's cute. That's like this cozy home.
Yeah. Oh. So I went, feeling good. I listen, I love this ring. I love it. I don't think. Are you sure? Yes. I just don't think it's the nice thing to tell somebody that they're that their diamond ring is little. I don't think that's a good thing.
Yeah, we're on a we're on budget. Like, It made me feel like.
My wedding band, I think I paid maybe $50 for. Spent $50 on it. Yeah.
And I know a lot of people will upgrade, and once they get into a better financial standing, they'll buy better jewelry. I that's not who I am. I'm not a person who buys a lot of jewelry. Right. Or diamonds.
I know a guy who is a custom jeweler. Yeah, can say, hey, can you make this bigger?
I don't want it to be bigger, though. I like it. I just what I'm saying is I don't think it's a nice way to tell somebody.
I get that their diamond is little. Yeah.
No, I know, but then I feel bad. Like you should have a I love this ring.
This is my bigger one. No, this is the ring that we got married with. I don't want a bigger one. Okay. It has sentimentality.
Sentimentality. I don't think that's sentimental value. Sentimentality. It's got sentimentality.
Okay. Anyway, I'm just I don't tell somebody their jewelry is little. Yeah.
No, I know, but I feel bad. Like maybe you have a bigger one. Nope. If you're gonna be running around with elites, you need to have jewelry of elites. Time out.
Am I running around with elites? I don't know. I don't want to be.
I just I feel like it's probably uh a wealthier person who said that. Is that fair? Fair. Yeah. Yes. They wouldn't settle for this m measly peasant diamonds.
But that's okay because I'm not asking her to wear it. Okay, that's fair.
I'm just trying to figure out if you should have like a bigger one so the next time you see that person, they go, whoa. I'll get a big one from Walmart.
You know how they have those ones? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Get a huge one. Like, how about now? Check out this honker. That's what you're gonna say. She wouldn't even notice, I bet you I would be waving it around and she'd be like.
So like a flash hits her in the eyes. Whoa.
How's this for a little when I punch her in the nose? Wow. Right? Assault. Hanging out with elites. Yeah. That's not who I am. You don't know who I am.
Well, I'm sorry. You have a small ring.
No, no, no, no. Don't I don't want you to feel bad. I don't want you to apologize. This is my ring. This is the ring I helped pick out. This is the ring you picked out for me.
I love this ring. Okay. The point I'm trying to make is I I don't think that's a nice thing to say to somebody. It's not. That's that's all.
That's the whole point I'm trying to make. Okay. Is maybe come up with something else to say. It's so little. Oh, I love your ring. It's so little. Thank you. They say that if you work out, you should do something that you enjoy doing because if you enjoyed it. likely
to make a habit out of it. Absolutely. Yeah.
Um, so I decided that I was gonna go a swimmin. A swimming? Because I like to swim. That's true. So I said I'm gonna go. You committed. You went to the gym yesterday and ran on the treadmill.
I did. I did uh two miles on the treadmill, and I did uh 30 flights of stairs on the stepper. Good job, Josh. And I was sweating on the stair stepper. That thing is a beast.
Why'd you try to do why did you decide to do those? What am I doing Saturday? Oh, you're going on a hike.
I'm going on a very, very vertical hike. Very, very vertical. Incredibly vertical. Okay.
Uh good job doing that. Um, I do not want to do that, but I want to go swimming because I like swimming. Now, I don't enjoy being um I don't enjoy like having wet hair. So after I get done.
You don't enjoy having wet hair. No.
You don't have hair, so you don't get it. But if you have wet hair, especially if it's pool hair, okay, then it's filled with chlorine and it's gross, and then you have to blow dry, and then that takes time. I see.
I don't enjoy it. Plus also I don't usually wash my hair every day. But if I go swimming every day, then I'm gonna have to wash my hair every day because of the chlorine.
So I said, how do I solve this conundrum? Because what I really want to do is go to the gym and swim laps. Okay. That's what I want to do. All right. So I bought a swim cap. Nice. A really nice swim cap.
Okay, what makes it so nice? I don't know. It got good reviews. Oh. I looked. So peer review said nice swim cap.
Yeah. Well, I I looked first. Everybody recommended the Speedo brand, and so I was looking for the Speedo brand swim cap. It said this one is actually the best. It had the best reviews for keeping water out. Okay. But then it said it doesn't work great for people with a lot of hair. And so I had to get a specialized lot of hair.
So is this the T Y R long hair silicone swim cap? Yeah, it is. An asymmetric contour design with extra room to tuck in ponytails, braids, or thick hair without painful head compression. Yes. Whoa. It looks like a swim cap. I know. But you feel good about it.
I well, yes, so I'm waiting for it to come, and then guess what? What? I'm gonna go swimming.
Okay, uh, I'm looking at like normally when I put on a swim cap, which isn't really ever, because I'm bald, so I just have a natural aerodynamic quick dry head. Um I usually would like get it wet and then put it on. You're not gonna do that because then you would get your hair wet.
So you're gonna put it on dry. I'm just curious about that. I've never I didn't think about that. Because normally you just get it wet and put it on. Yeah, but that defeats the purpose, doesn't it?
Defeat the purpose. So you're gonna find the cap swim midline, and then you're going to put your hands in a semi-circular shape inside of it to hold it open. Okay, so you're gonna put two hands in there and pull it open. Okay, right. And then you're going to uh w put the top on your head, and then you're gonna pull the hat over your ears, and then you'll adjust your forehead in the back. Okay. So you'll be able to do it dry.
Oh, yeah. I'm gonna I'm gonna have lots of practice. Every day. It's coming today. Is it? Yeah. Nice. I know, and now I gotta figure out what I'm gonna go.
Initially, I was like, you know what? The best time to go is gonna be in the morning. Yeah. Now I looked up pool times. Okay. So that's important. At the gym.
Yeah. Oh, look at you didn't see the hairbrella. No. You should look up the hairbrella. It is satin lined, waterproof, adjustable swim cap. Uh yeah. It looks easier to put on dry.
But how watertight is it? Oh, it's very.
But it also is adjustable, so once you put your ponytail in it, then you uh pull that tight around the bottom of your you know, the crown your head back.
Yeah, I don't know. No? I don't think that looks very watertight. It is. I know you say that it is.
Well, why would they make something as a swim cap that wasn't? Because it looks sleek. Uh disagree. 100% waterproof and leak proof. 100%.
Who Who's who wrote that review? Hairbrella. Airbrella wrote their own review.
No, I'm reading their marketing tools. Okay. They've been in the press on Forbes and Good Morning America and Cosmo and USA Today.
I bought a swim cap. So if the swim cap doesn't work, then maybe I'll look into the hairbrella.
But you can get it in uh a shiny silver chrome. Then you can really cruise. They have a pearl that's kind of nice too.
These are fun colors. I see the colors.
They have to be. are pretty. Look at the limited edition bright neon green. Oh. Yeah. Okay. Well, fun for you.
I know I'm gonna go to swim some laps.
Why do you laugh like you're not going to?
No, I am going to. I really am committed. Uh by the way, the drums are still going good. I think people think maybe I start stuff and then I don't finish. And by people, I mean me.
I think that I start things that I don't finish. Drums are still going good. Who are you talking to? Who are Who are you? I'm going swimming, is the point. Okay. I'm going to go do some laps. I was looking up like you can get real fit from swimming. Oh, yeah? That's cool.
Okay. So in our bedroom is a jar, and in that jar is items. And all of those items have been collected for years and years and years from different dates and experiences that we have had and gone on. What about it?
Uh it hasn't been added to in a really long time. Oh. It's our date night jar. Yeah. I was just looking at it the other day because I was like, oh, I was cleaning and I was like, right.
Yeah. Deep cleaning the room, yeah.
And I picked it up and I went, oh. We haven't added to this in a really long time. Well, and we just And it's not that we haven't gone on a date.
I know. Well, even on our anniversary, we went and did the skydiving thing. Yeah. We went to the Jimmy World concert. Like, we didn't get like a print ticket or anything to put in the jar. That's kind of a frustrating thing about digital ticketing now, isn't it? You don't have souvenirs. A souvenir ticket to say I was at the show.
You can some places you can get one that some places will still print you one, but it's few and far between.
Yeah, but then you have to go up to somebody and go, hi, can I get a souvenir ticket? For my scrap button. Right. For my date jar. For my date scrapbook.
Right. And it's a nice big mason jar and it's and it's pretty full of different stuff. Like there's all kinds of fun little things in there.
Aren't there little dinosaurs in there and stuff? We went on a on a date and we sat at an arcade and conquered a Jurassic Park game. For hours. We played it for a long time. We had a good time. And then we took our ticket redemption at the end of the night, and uh we got little tiny dinosaurs, and uh that was that was awesome. So I think they're in the jar. I think so too.
Um I didn't dump out the jar. I don't know what's in there, but that's our date jar that I know, but it hasn't been added to in a long time. And it's not that we haven't gone on dates.
I just haven't thought haven't put stuff in there.
And we have gotten stuff. I just haven't put them in there. Do you have stuff? I think I've got a couple of things because I've got to. Well, you were junk journaling. Yeah, I was putting some stuff in an actual like junky scrapbook journal type thing. Right. So I just didn't add them to the jar.
Well, if you have some stuff, put it in the jar. Likewise, buddy. I don't have any stuff.
Why don't you have any stuff? You don't keep stuff from our dates. I do in the jar. No, no. I mean, you could put receipts in there. You could put whatever you want. You can. You can. I was trying to even think, even when we went the did the indoor skydiving thing. We didn't have a memento from it.
No, but we took a picture. We could print the picture and put that in. We could.
We could do that. That would be fun.
Right. Again, digital stuff. Like we have a video of the experience, and we have a photo that we took in front of the like logo. The video is awesome. Yeah, it was fun. It's just silent. It's just a silent film of us flying around in a little tube.
And me trying to catch the wall. Yeah. So that I could get out of it. Yeah.
So I don't know how you'd put that in there. I mean, we could we could get like a USB drive and put pictures and videos and stuff on it. And that could just live in the jar.
Yeah. It's kind of like a time capsule thing. And then who's ever gonna look at it? Like great great great grandkids are gonna look at these two. They're gonna pull that thumb drive out and go, what is this?
And they're not gonna care.
Is this what they had before they put a chip in our brains to memorize everything? You have to subscribe to your brain. That's coming. I know it is everything's a subscription service. As soon as we have to subscribe to store memories. Ridiculous.
That needs to come to an end. Anyway. I just gave a billionaire an idea. Yeah, you did. Uh add some stuff to the to the date night jar. I'm not just gonna add random stuff.
No, no, it's gonna be date night stuff. Well, I think you're up. Uh for planning a date.
Don't look at me like that. You said that it was your turn.
All right. Don't do it.
Don't look at me like I'm making stuff up.
You did plan a good web. We were supposed to when we did go out on our anniversary. I had the idea that you planned a date and I planned a date, and I didn't plan a date. I know. I'm sorry. I noticed.
We had a whole conversation about it, and then I did plan an experience. You did. And then you didn't.
I didn't. Uh I had an idea. Okay. And I never followed through.
I have another idea, but I'm not gonna do that until it's my turn again. And we'll have to travel and stuff. But it'll be really fun. Okay.
I'll plan a day. What you know what else I found in our room? There's a little um box we got that has like cute little date ideas. Oh, I know.
Yeah, little scratch. Scratch them off. Yeah.
We've used it once, but I found it and I said, hey, remember we have this.
No, because it's been put away in a drawer somewhere. Okay. I'm in charge. Don't you fret. Okay. It's gonna be a good one. All right. I had the best idea ever.
I disagree. I think it was an interesting idea, but I don't think it's the best idea.
Oh, I think you're just mad because you didn't think of it. I'm not. You want uh Lego to make furniture kits. Yeah. And at first I thought,
well, I guess like if for your little Lego house, you could have like a Lego couch or whatever, but you mean full size for your home, uh, a kit that you would buy that is Lego pieces you would build a couch or a coffee table or whatever. Yeah, yeah. Do you know how many how many pieces that is?
And okay, but maybe they could make bigger Lego pieces. You never said that. Like a duplo. That's no. No one likes that. Okay, maybe not that big, but bigger than
I think they're gonna have to be massive. They're gonna have to be way bigger than Duplo.
I just think listen to me. When I tell you that, like when I went to college, they had all this inflatable furniture. Right. This is brilliant for dorms. Lego furniture. Think of how easy it would be to move. Terrible. No, you tear them down, tear down the pieces.
Yeah, then you have a whole giant bucket of pieces.
For from your furniture. And then you get together with your roommates, and you spend a night building your furniture.
Brilliant. To which our kids said, isn't IKEA just Lego furniture anyway? Isn't build your furniture out of a box already just Lego furniture? You can't buy a bookcase? Guess what? Pieces. It's pieces, and you have those little uh cam bolts that you have to tighten and uh make the arrow lineup, and then you know what I mean?
Yeah, the instructions are just cartoon bodies. What? Have you seen the instructions for IKEA furniture? Yeah. It's just like cartoon bodies that are putting the pieces together. Have you seen them? I guess I haven't.
Oh, they're like, I just like anything that I've built was just the pieces. It doesn't show people.
Oh, I've seen people. And they're like they're bubble people. Okay, look it up. Just look up Ikea instructions, and it's bubble people. Oh yeah. How about it? Okay, brilliant. So if you have Lego furniture, then you can follow the instructions or you can make up your own design. Yeah. And then you buy cushions for it. So it's not a good
thing. Yeah, well, so that was the other thing that I was thinking about is uh how uncomfortable is. No, you get a cushion. You get some nice padding.
You got bada bing bada boom. I'm also gonna say too expensive. That's the hangup.
No, there's a lot more than just the price that's the hang up. Because Lego is expensive. Right. And before you had this idea of giant pieces. Yeah. When you were talking about it, and you were like, no, like you could just buy a box and then you build it and then you have a couch. You know how big that box would be? And how expensive that would be? Like Lego per piece, what is it?
Okay, so then how about just for funsies to start? You just do like a lounge chair, a Lego lounge chair.
Average price of a Lego is 10 cents to 14 cents per piece. Okay. Per brick. Okay. So we'll we'll meet in the middle on that and go 12. 12 cents per brick, and you are going to need uh how many bricks? Uh 10. No.
I think it's a I think it's the smartest idea I've ever had. And now, guess what? If you start to see Lego furniture in the stores, it's your idea. That was my idea.
So if you wanted to build a full-size lounge chair, you could estimate that it would take around almost 5,000 bricks. Okay. So 5,000 times 12 cents. Okay. What is That's $600. That's not bad.
With no cushion. And that's no markup. That's just base cost.
So you're gonna you're gonna have to pay 900 to $1,000 because whoever's selling it is gonna mark it up at least 50%. On one lounge chair. On one lounge care kit. So you're in, you're in it to a thousand dollars for a lounge chair that might not come with cushions. Brilliant. Not brilliant.
For the every college dorm.
Yeah, oh, I can't wait to build a 5,000 piece Lego lounge chair. No. The sofa is gonna be three times that. It's gonna be 15,000 pieces to build a sofa with no cushions. Okay, how much is it for Duplo? Duplo? Would you rather this or that?
Would you rather have your favorite teacher for every class or your best friend in every class? Oh, best friend in every class. Oh, yeah, for sure.
Because I can get through anything if I got my best book. Yeah, agreed. Yeah. It was your best friend in high school. Uh I didn't really have a best friend in high school. I had a group of friends that I hung out with, but we would get into some shenanigans.
But uh I like I'm gonna go back to like an elementary school. My buddy Sean would have been awesome to have in like every class. That would have been great. Uh I got in a lot of trouble with my buddy Lee. Uh he and I. We we got up to some shenanigans, uh, water gun fights and stuff like that was was a good time. Uh and uh and so yeah, that was fun. Uh, some of the guys that I did in line with, but uh, my whole group of like paintball buddies, like that was a good group. If we would have all been in the same class, we would have never gotten anything done. So it's probably good that we didn't, but that would have been fun.
My school was a little bit smaller. Um, and my two besties were Rhiannon and Allison. Yeah. And uh I had them in quite a few classes, actually. We kind of scheduled our courses last week. Oh, did you? Yeah. Did you?
We were at uh back to school night. Uh what, last night? That was just last night. That was just last night. I think that's what was going on in the counselor's office. I think a couple of guys were like, we're gonna switch up our classes and get in the same classes.
I think they were working on that. And they felt like they pulled one over on the counselor when they're like, I need to move this class in this class, and then the other guy was gonna go, I'm gonna go move this class in this class, and so then they could have more classes together. I think that's what they were up to. Because they were kind of high fiving at the end of it. They were like, Yeah, we're gonna get in the same class
the most important class that I had to have my friend Rihanna and we were in theater together, so we had to be. you have to have that. We had to have our theater class together because that was the class that we would skip and go get our get our...
Oh, really? Yeah.
teacher didn't care.
Oh really? Yeah. See, Lee and I were in uh uh a marketing class, uh-huh, and uh and we were in charge of uh leaving class early to go pick up the fried rice from the Chinese food restaurant that we would then sell at lunch. Well, we didn't sell it, the other people in class sold it, but we were like, we'll go get it because he had a nice truck and we got to like play the offspring really loud while we went and got it, and then we would cool meander around.
Yeah, that's oh, they didn't have it ready, it took a little while longer. And then we would take it back to the school and uh and then it would get sold, and it was a fundraiser for uh the DECA group and the BPA. It was that kind of a class. That was fun.
Yeah, we would just be like, Yeah, you want to go get a John Soda? Yeah, let's go get a John Soda. If she drove, she was a little bit of a crazy driver. So it was like, oh, okay, strap in. So yeah, I'm taking that. Me too.
Yeah, I'm not uh like having a the good teacher would be fun would be fun. That'd be great. But I'd rather have my friends because we'll get through anything for sure. Yep. Okay, so here's a little football news for you. Okay, because the big story over the NFL weekend this last weekend, uh Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. Oh, yeah, he got booed.
Yeah. Big time during a uh preseason home game, and he fired back against fans saying your booing is disrespectful. Which is, you know, let's start a fight with the fans.
That's a good idea. And so yesterday he apologized for the comments, and the Cleveland Browns named him their starting quarterback. Whoa. Which is all happening at once. So that's kind of crazy, uh, at least for the start of the season, um, which is pretty wild.
But there is some logic to it all. The first two games the Browns play are away games, so he likely wouldn't get booed as bad uh for the first couple of games, but
I know about him is he's not so great of a guy. Yeah. Uh I know that a lot of people don't necessarily like him because he's not a nice dude off the field, but also he's also he's had some poor on field performance, and so they're everyone's like, you're you're not a good player, but you're also not a good dude. Okay. So I think the Browns are not happy to have him around. That's what I know. Okay.
So uh they lost their first season to the or first preseason game to the Bears 34 to 10. Okay. They lost their second preseason game, 31 to 7 to the Bills. Okay. These aren't good scores. No, they're not. 34 to 10 and 31 to 7. They will play the Patriots this weekend. Um They're going to lose. at home.
Do who's their backup quarterback?
I don't know who they have. Um, but they do have Deshaun Watson starting. Oh, Shador Sanders is who they have. Who would they were talking about trading to Minnesota?
Yeah, I heard that too. Get out of here. They want to trade JJ McCarthy for Shader Sanders.
And a round one pick because they think the Cleveland Browns are going to have a terrible season. So they're likely to get like a higher pick. Um, which that this is supposed to be a QB heavy draft this year, according to our son, um, who follows that stuff. And if that is, if it's a QB heavy NFL draft, then that would mean that the Vikings would be shopping for another quarterback again.
Might I recommend a quarterback.
Which one? Kirk Cousins?
I know. He's a little bit old. Wow. He is. I understand. Yeah. Uh but I they just they had something.
And they had something with Sam too, but they didn't want to develop Sam Darnold. Now he's a Super Bowl champion. Doesn't matter. I'm just saying I'm just telling you. Sam just Darnold. Alan, yeah.
We could get, I'll tell you who we could get. We could we could shop around for Josh Allen. I like it. Yeah, right. Yeah, right. He fits he would fit in so well at Minnesota. Come on, Josh. Leave Buffalo. Come to Minnesota. I don't think that's gonna happen.
Um, Deshaun Watson has a five-year fully guaranteed 230 million dollar contract with the Cleveland Browns. It's insane. It's an insane amount of play. Yeah, it is. There are only 10 players in NFL history who have made more money in salary than him. That's crazy. Yeah.
How does he get in so much? And he he performs so terribly.
And this is why he gets booed. Um, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with Cleveland this year. Josh Allen. This is you're not gonna get Josh Allen. You don't want Mahomes? Never. Never. What if you rolled up in a purple jersey? What would you do?
Ew, I'd have to move to a different team. I'd have to move to a different team. I couldn't. I couldn't support the Vikes anymore. Okay. Couldn't. Who what other quarterback do I like? I like Stafford. We could get Stafford. He's not going anywhere. Let's wrap up the show. All right.
