IN NATIONAL NEWS,
Earlier today, Judge Timothy J. Kelly of U.S. District Court in Washington declined to rule on a case brought by CNN, MS NOW, and Politico against the White House. The case focuses on the banning of the three above outlets for their coverage of the Presidency. On Friday, through Truth Social, President Trump announced the ban and by Saturday journalists from the 3 outlets were barred from entering the White House grounds. In protest, the 5 major Press Pool outlets have all refused to provide Audio/Visual coverage of the President this week, this includes ABC News, CBS News, Fox News, and NBC News. Judge Kelly previously has ruled on a similar case where Trump expelled CNN journalist Jim Acosta from the White House and revoked his press credentials. In that case, Judge Kelly ruled to restore Acosta’s press access and will likely make a final ruling in this case later this week. In defense of the ban, the administration is arguing that the three outlets knowingly published classified information while the news outlets are arguing a first amendment violation based on the President disliking their coverage.
IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS,
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warns that Russian war could spread to other countries. Zelenskyy described the war as ridiculous and never-ending, but did so with a goal in mind. He wants the European Union to increase pressure on Russia to end the war with economics. He also appealed for support in military form, but clarified that Ukrainians did not choose this war. He argued that the countries at risk of the war migrating would be Poland, Moldova or other countries in the region. He also said that Russia has had almost 250,000 casualties over the last eight months which were confirmed by video surveillance. Ukraine has widespread support in the UN, but many countries wish for the war to end with the increased strain on energy and economy. This came among many other speeches at the UN general assembly.

ALSO IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS,
Iran’s president Masoud Pezeshkian said his people have been “victims of terrorism” by the U.S. on Wednesday at the U.S. General Assembly. This comes a day after President Trump claimed he may “annihilate” the Islamic Republic if a deal is not reached to end the nearly seven month war. During his speech, he held up large photos of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the more than 150 Iranian school children who were killed when war began. He called out Trump by name, saying quote “It must be understood by Mr. Trump and those who seek to bully us that we are ready for dialogue and diplomacy and negotiations without accepting the language of force,” end quote.
IN ENVIRONMENTAL NEWS,
Climate Forward event brings lots of speakers, with many different focuses. Erin Brokovich and Justin Pearson were at the beginning of the day, trying to persuade communities to act against data centers. Another celebrity, Jane Fonda attacked both US political parties on Climate Change. Republicans often face higher criticism for climate inaction, but Fonda clarified both are at fault for the state of the world. “We can’t get the legislation because so many of the Democrats and Republicans take money from the fossil fuel industry, and so they don’t legislate for people,” she said. Other speakers turned to energy, with multiple energy company CEO’s speaking. A CEO for a geothermal start up encouraged his technology, and the CEO of a company hoping to commercially mine the ocean floor talked about the climate impacts of this. Other politicians attended, notably Energy Secretary Chris Wright saying that a ban of Diesel Exports is not on the horizon. Many have speculated because of record Diesel prices this could be a solution, but he confirmed this to not be true.
