Thanks to funding from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, thousands of residents are to benefit from the chance to upskill and retrain for future roles.
Investment worth £11.2 million is being committed to ensuring that 2,500 people can retrain in new areas such as construction, digital, engineering, manufacturing, HGV drivers, and rail.
This will be done through free Skills Bootcamps, with Mayor Steve Rotheram saying that he wants residents to be in the best possible position to fulfil their potential.
A revolutionary early years educational programme is being celebrated by Glasgow City Council, supporting the social and emotional development wellbeing of children.
More than 390,000 children across 30 countries have been reached by the Think Equal programme and Glasgow’s initial rollout will ensure that half of all the nursery schools across the region will benefit.
Greater Manchester also adopted the programme, with it being rolled out to 965 reception classes and 659 nurseries across the region and 42,000 children benefitting.
Westmorland and Furness Council is encouraging the area’s young people to get involved with politics and democracy.
This is being pushed through the UK Youth Parliament, which is approaching the date by which applications must be submitted to stand in the elections.
The Youth Parliament works to ensure that young people have the ability to be a voice for their generation, with those standing needing to be between the ages of 11 and 18.
