Right on Rangers LIVE!

Dallas had to win this one twice.

The Cowboys erased a 23-13 deficit, watched Houston retake the lead with 2:26 left, then got the final answer from Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb in a 34-30 road win. Austin breaks down CeeDee’s career-high 17 catches, Javonte Williams’ three-touchdown day, and why Dak’s second half mattered far more than his one passing touchdown suggests.

The show also digs into the explosive-play problem that still hangs over the defense, Joey Porter Jr.’s early impact, the Micah Parsons debate, Houston’s penalty mess and the quick turnaround to Tampa Bay on Thursday night.

What is Right on Rangers LIVE!?

Right on Rangers is where Rangers fans ride the season in real time.

The LIVE shows are the heartbeat. Big wins, ugly losses, bullpen chaos, breakout heaters, trade rumors, roster debates, and the takes that come with actually caring about this team.

Sometimes those takes get hot. That’s part of watching 162 with people who are invested. But the reaction still has receipts. We use stats, film, history, roster context, and what’s happening on the field to figure out what the game actually revealed.

Between LIVE shows, we go deeper on the players, decisions, stories, and moments shaping Texas baseball.

Rangers first, always. When the calendar turns, the Cowboys, Longhorns, Mavericks, and the biggest Texas sports stories get their run too.

If you want sterile box-score recaps, this probably isn’t your show. If you want passionate Rangers talk with actual baseball underneath it, welcome in.

Hi and welcome to another edition of Right

on Rangers Live coming at you in the

fourth quarter.

Cowboys Texans.

Cowboys with a slim four-point margin 27

-23.

Javonte Williams.

Feed Javonte.

He has put in three touchdowns here in

the second half and big reason why the

Cowboys are at least in a position to

win this football game.

Although we will see if this defense can

bend not break once again.

They have honestly done a very nice job

today overall.

One for nine for the Houston Texans on

third down.

Let's see if they can get this one.

They will not be able to on this

one.

Two for nine now.

Great throwing catch there.

Nico Collins again.

Said it last week on the show if

they got Nico back it was going to

be a problem.

They absolutely are a much different offense.

Much more dynamic offense with him running around

out there causing havoc in the secondary.

Feel like the front has done a better

job creating pressure.

That was something that I posted about this

morning.

If you could just find a way to

put a little more pressure on Stroud.

Go a long way in shutting down the

pass attack.

Nico Collins especially and giving a little bit

of help to this secondary which has a

lot of question marks around it right now

especially.

Look Houston moving the ball pretty quickly here.

The way it's looking you do have the

Texans down deep in Cowboys territory here just

north of the 20.

But at this point you're going to have

the Cowboys getting the ball back.

I mean that that is going to be

a must here with how quickly they are

moving this football.

Not that you really want to do it

any other way.

I mean if you're Texans you got to

score.

But three and a half minutes here.

Ball at the 22-23 yard line.

They're going to run the football here.

See if they can kill a little clock.

Missed tackle.

And that ends up being a nine yard

gain.

What could have been a two yard loss.

That is painful.

Let's see what the flag is for.

Holding.

Penalties have killed the Texans man.

They have been penalized so much.

A lot on first down.

You look at the team penalties and the

penalty battle between each team.

Cowboys have four penalties today.

Four penalties for 37 yards.

The Texans I believe have 14 for 100

now with this 10-yard penalty.

That is the difference in this ball game

at this point.

And it will be a disappointing loss if

you're the Cowboys.

You were the much more disciplined team today.

You were given almost or if not 100

yards on the dot in penalties.

And you weren't able to get it done.

Big tackle at the line of scrimmage.

Downs.

Caleb Downs making his presence known.

Love to see that.

And it is going to be second and

20 here.

Appreciate all you guys hanging out.

Thank you so much here right on Rangers.

We cover everything Texas sports but we put

a huge emphasis on the Cowboys during the

NFL season.

And we thank you right on Rangers for

all your Cowboys content.

We're here pretty much every Sunday or whatever

day the Cowboys play.

We'll always go live right around the fourth

quarter.

Beginning to middle of the fourth quarter.

And of course we lock in for a

post game show immediately afterwards.

Stroud little play action.

And that might be a catch man.

I really thought Bland was going to come

over and intercept that one.

Don't know if we got two feet down.

Doesn't look like we did.

So third and 19 here.

Almost an incredible catch there by Houston.

I thought DaRon Bland had a beat on

that.

Thought he was about to come ball hawk

that.

Just got a little bit in front of

it.

Just over the hand.

Yep.

Just couldn't keep the feet in.

That'll work.

Third and 19.

Here we go.

Cowboys two and two for 10.

In terms of fourth down here, they're going

to get off sides.

And it's going to be a little bit

shorter.

Texans are two for 10 on third down.

Cowboys have been really good getting off the

field.

We'll knock on wood just in case.

I don't want any accusations one way or

the other.

We'll hopefully get off the field one more

time here.

Hope all y'all are having a good

weekend so far.

No longhorns this weekend.

We're just chilling right now.

Only football for us here on the channel

is this Cowboys game and we're hopeful it'll

end well.

Here we go.

Stroud and the shotgun.

Drops back.

Good pressure by the Cowboys.

He gets it off.

Little hook and ladder is going to work

like a charm.

Beautiful play call by the Texans.

That was a beautiful thing.

You saw that one unfolding right before your

eyes.

Out of bounds so the clock will stop.

Man, that was beautiful.

Jeez, what a play call.

What a play call, man.

What can you say about that?

It's just impressive.

Montgomery right there to clean that up.

Can't do it any better.

All right.

It's going to be first and goal at

about the seven yard line.

So if you're the Cowboys, goal line stand

and you're going to get the ball back

barring a really bad penalty, but the Texans

are going to take it in and it

is going to be a 29-27 ball

game.

Two minutes and 23 left on the clock.

You got plenty of time.

Unfortunately though, you got to go up against

a Texans defense that has definitely broken at

times today, but still not an easy task.

Good news is you got Brandon Aubrey and

you shouldn't have to go very far to

get into his range.

Although you have had a couple of special

teams miscues today.

A Will Anderson blocked 62 yard attempt.

Brandon Aubrey missed, I believe a 65 yard

attempt.

Extra point is good by the way.

So it is a 30-27 ball game.

I appreciate the follow C Jack.

Thank you so much.

All y'all who are hanging out, it

is 30-27 Texans, two minutes and 23

seconds left on the clock.

Cowboys have two timeouts and the two minute

warning.

So let me look, you have one of

the highest paid offenses in the league for

a reason.

And this is the reason right here.

It doesn't mean that it's going to work

out perfectly, but this is why you have

all of the skills players very highly and

well paid on the Dallas staff.

You hope they can come through in a

big moment here.

Cowboys have definitely struggled at times to move

the football.

They've gotten a lot of good rhythm here

in the second half.

You can only hope that that continues.

Eric, what's good by the way.

Thanks for hanging out.

I will be checking the comments periodically here

as the fourth quarter winds down.

Definitely will be a little bit more in

tune with those during the post game show.

Hopefully we'll be talking about a Dallas Cowboys

win.

Sure could use it.

That hook and ladder play, they keep showing

it.

What a phenomenal play call.

Can't even be mad at that one.

Like just out of nowhere, a great execution.

Cowboys defense have been doing so well.

They had really, I felt like stifled Houston

here in the second half, just a bad

time for the Texans to pick up a

rhythm.

Turpin back to receive here.

It will be in the field of play.

Turpin to the 20.

Makes a man miss.

He's going to get to about the 26

yard line.

So that is where Dak begins.

You figure you got to get to maybe

the 50, the 45 just to feel like

you've got a shot.

I'd prefer get to the 45 of Houston.

That would make it a 62 yarder.

You know that Aubrey can definitely get in

the mix.

It definitely is not a foregone conclusion.

He can hit from 65 or more, but

it's not something I feel super comfortable with.

The way Will Anderson has been getting through

that line on these field goal attempts.

Dak going to start it with Javonte at

his side.

Plano in motion.

Dak going to go deep here.

And that was nearly intercepted.

Just didn't have enough juice on it, man.

Not probably a great pass without really seeing

the coverage, but not a great choice.

I should say it wasn't a great pass

either.

I have no clue how that was not

picked off.

I mean, it would have been a great

catch, but there's not enough juice on it,

man.

I mean, if you're going to throw that,

that has got to be your best fastball.

Bad choice by Dak there.

Adam, what's good?

Thanks for hanging out.

Second and 10, 10 ticks before the two

-minute warning.

Brandon, what's good, brother?

Yeah, I'm hoping that that does not come

true here, but we know how it goes

with Cowboys football.

Lanham stretches for what might be a first

down.

It might be third and one.

It may be first and 10.

Looks like they are going to stop him

short of the sticks, and the two-minute

warning is upon us.

It'll be third and one.

Obviously, four down territory, and you've got two

timeouts in tow.

All right, let's figure out how we got

here.

For anybody that didn't get a chance to

watch a lot of the game or is

just coming in a little bit cold in

this one, Dallas was down 23 to 13

in the third quarter, down 10 points, and

swung it all the way to a 27

-23 lead, went on a 14-0 run.

Cowboys are now losing 30 to 27.

They do have the football back, and the

feel of the game really in the second

half has shifted pretty significantly.

You really felt like the Cowboys looked pretty

anemic in the first half, especially offensively.

Will Anderson and company, Jadeveon Clowney, really asserting

their dominance.

That is a scary front, and we talked

about that pregame.

They had the ability.

They have the opportunity to really control the

game in the first half.

The Texans front absolutely did that.

Second half has been much better, but it's

always something you've got in the back of

your mind, and we're going to see how

that comes into play here in what should

be Dallas' hopefully final drive, walk-off drive.

That's the idea.

That's the preference here.

Javonte Williams.

Let's talk Javonte.

He has had a very, very solid game.

It has been tough sledding at times.

He has had to get a lot of

tough yards today, but as we go to

the box score, Javonte 62 yards, 19 carries,

3.3 yards a carry.

That number has dropped a little bit here

in the second half, really in the fourth

quarter.

He was at about four yards a carry

for most of the game, got stuffed a

couple of times, and that has brought that

average down just a little bit, but three

touchdowns today.

Very good from Javonte.

Dave just continued to give him the rock

over and over in big moments, and he

has come through.

I would like to see this continue to

be the strategy, honestly.

Javonte has been such a godsend.

Look, I know Jerry and Steven get a

lot of crap for their moves as GM

and making trades, making free agent signings maybe

that are a bit questionable to the masses,

but it's hard to argue the Javonte Williams

deal has to be one of the best

deals they have made, finding him, giving him

the contract.

Clearly, Javonte showed promise when he was in

Denver.

I don't think anybody's denying that.

It's not like they found this guy undrafted.

I don't think we're pumping this up to

be anything of that, but at the same

time, you took a chance on him, you

signed him, you gave him a contract, and

he has paid dividends so far.

All right, here's third and one.

Third and one, two minutes left to go,

30 to 27.

Little quick pass here to Lamb, and he

has stopped behind the line of scrimmage, snuffed

out by the Texans.

We're going to have a big fourth down

play here.

It's going to be about fourth and four.

This is tough.

If you're Schotty, you can think about calling

a timeout here to just make sure you

dial up your best fourth down play possible.

You don't want to waste too much time.

This is the game.

I just don't know.

They're going to snap it.

Dak drops back, and he is going to

complete it to Ferguson.

That's about a seven or eight yard gain,

124 and ticking.

Great toss, great catch by Fergie.

Now we're going fast.

Dak drops back, pressure, and he is going

to throw it at the feet of Javonte.

Yeah, that's not a fumble.

The Texans defense thought maybe they had a

gift there.

Buck 12 to 10, four down territory here.

Defense definitely is not crushing it today.

I don't want to get it twisted.

I do think this is one of their

better performances.

That to me, I know sounds weird with

a 30 point score on the board.

Two for 10 on third down today.

They have gotten help by a lot of

penalties.

I think that needs to be said out

loud too.

I know without looking at the numbers, just

eye test, it feels like a better performance

from the defense.

I know we can say 30 points.

It feels like a better performance.

I'm not saying that that means everything.

Clearly that's not rocket science or any kind

of deep cutting analysis, but that's how I

walk away from this one.

It wasn't perfect.

It wasn't great, but it feels like one

of their better performances of the season.

By the way, great pass, dropping one over

the top of a defender and Cowboys are

moving on down the field here.

Timeout from Houston and the Cowboys are at

their own 39.

Excuse me.

With that, they are across midfield.

Into field goal range.

Good stuff by Dak, man.

First and 10 at the Houston 46.

Two timeouts for the Cowboys.

Appreciate all y'all hanging out.

Yeah.

Hopefully my guys win versus the other Texas

teams this weekend.

Big game for you all as well.

Eric, yes sir.

Jacob, what's good, man?

Christian Parker today.

I think you are absolutely going to continue

to see criticism regarding what he brought to

the table today.

Still, I'm curious to see what happens with

Joey Porter getting a little more acclimated to

the defense.

You know, I think it's actually a really

fortunate thing for Parker.

You just have a little bit of a

reset here with the opportunity to incorporate a

really high-level cornerback.

I just think whether you like it or

not, it is a bit of a reset

for Christian.

Gives him an opportunity to maybe play a

little bit more of the style that he

wants to play, which at the beginning of

the season, he talked about, hey, if I

have guys who can play man, I want

to play man.

So we'll see if that happens.

I do think if you're not a Christian

Parker fan, you're not necessarily going to like

this, but the mood to get Joey Porter

Jr. is absolutely buying him a little more

time.

And you know how it goes.

If there's struggles, well, he's still getting acclimated.

And I actually do think in week one

with Joey Porter, with Joey Porter Jr., that

is a legitimate excuse here.

You're not going to get Joey Porter Jr.

learning the whole defense in one shot.

That being said, if you are playing man,

there's not a lot that's complicated about that.

There's not a lot that is confusing about

manning up and running down Nico Collins all

over the field.

Second and six, Dak takes the snap.

Quick pass out to the flat area and

Lamb has got it for a first down.

Inbounds, 51 seconds.

Yeah, I was about to say, you might

want to stop the clock here if they're

not going to give out of bounds.

First time out, or second time out for

the Cowboys.

Yeah, that one's tough for Lamb.

Not really a big opportunity for him to

get out of bounds there.

Texans were quick to hit him inbounds and

then got the momentum kind of going backwards

a little bit here.

CeeDee has just had a monster game.

What a game from him.

CeeDee on the game, if you're just tuning

in.

He is at this point almost at 200

yards, 16 receptions.

Very impressive from the Cowboys top wide out.

On the other side, Pickens.

Very, very quiet game, minus that 53 yard

reception.

That is Pickens' only catch today.

So yeah, they're taking away George a little

bit in the passing game, perhaps.

Feed CeeDee.

Here's Dak.

He's got Pickens again.

And Pickens, he finally shows up.

He's got a catch.

Pickens has been doing his thing.

He's definitely played a role in this game.

But man, finally you get that catch from

Pickens.

Great move, faking to the inside, going back

out.

Pickens is close to 100 yards at two

catches, man.

And you get out of bounds.

Stop the clock.

47 ticks.

Well within Brandon Aubrey's range.

You're at the 12 yard line.

Come on, Schotty.

Dial it up, baby.

Dak, he's pressured.

He is going to throw it away there,

smartly.

Come on, man.

We have got to give Dak a little

time.

We got to do better than that.

That was zero time.

That was just beaten off the edge, man.

Looked like maybe even a little confusion there.

Come on.

That is just a little confusion.

How do you let Will Anderson come off

the edge unblocked?

That has to be just a miscommunication with

the tackle and the guard there.

That's ridiculous.

Biggest play of the game.

Biggest series of the game here.

You got Will Anderson coming unblocked.

Dak to the end zone.

He's got CeeDee.

CeeDee Lamb scores for the Cowboys.

Dak threads the needle right down the seam.

And the Cowboys reclaim the lead.

It is 33 to 30.

Brandon Aubrey, PAT can make it a four

point game.

Dak leads yet another comeback drive.

CeeDee Lamb from the slot.

Great inside move.

Gets the separation.

What a day from CeeDee.

Dak Prescott right on the money.

The Cowboys with 40 ticks left on the

clock may walk out of Houston with a

victory.

Dak, 335 yards.

CeeDee Lamb, he is close to 200.

189 yards on the day.

17 receptions for the Cowboys.

Number one option.

Brandon Aubrey makes it a four point game.

The Texans have no timeouts.

I mean, look, we all remember what happened

in Rio last week.

I do not think we need to start

celebrating quite yet.

Let's let this one play out here.

But the odds are stacked a little bit

against the Texans at this point.

40 ticks, no timeouts, excuse me.

Going to take a miracle.

But you know what, with this defense, I

am not holding my breath.

I am not celebrating quite yet.

No disrespect.

No disrespect.

But what a play.

What a series.

What a drive from the Cowboys.

Ah, they should.

Man, they should have won last week.

They might get another win this week.

You know, you cannot go back and feel

sorry about the losses.

You really cannot.

But this Cowboys team, man, they should right

now after a win this week, knock on

wood, they could be three in one.

Hey, we'll definitely take two and two.

Got to get this stop here.

Can't get ahead of ourselves.

Downs is going to lock you.

You hope so.

Too much time on the clock.

There may be.

There may be.

Fishing, I'm not saying that there is a

100% victory in the bag at this

point, but no timeouts, man.

If you can just keep them in bounds,

you're going to have a high chance of

success here.

Nate, what's good, man?

Just reading the comment.

Good to see you, brother, as always.

Yes, sir.

Great touchdown.

Great pitch and catch by Dak and CeeDee.

Stroud flushed out, and that is going to

be an eight-yard gain out of bounds.

We'll take that.

That's about seven or eight seconds off the

clock, eight yards.

We will take that all day long.

That one's interesting.

Just look, I definitely am not a football

rule savant, but you're going backwards there out

of bounds.

I wonder what the exact rule is on

that one.

Second and two, Stroud drops back under pressure,

middle of the field, and that's a big

stop.

Tick, tick, tick.

You're going to have a Hail Mary play

here.

Got to clock it.

16 ticks left.

You're definitely going to have something going into

the end zone eventually.

Maybe not on this very next play.

Hey, Christina, what's good?

Really not that calm inside.

A little nervy right now.

A little nervy about what happened last week

in Rio.

I definitely do not want to see anything

like that.

Look, at this point, if that happened on

this particular play, they might be able to

snap the ball and get one more play

off, but you'll take anything in the field

to play.

Dallas is going to take a timeout here

and think about it.

They're going to think about it a little

bit here.

Text backs.

That's so well said.

Comment from TikTok here.

He's calm because he's a Cowboys fan.

We've literally seen it all.

That is so true.

That's so true.

We just know how this goes.

And I've said it like for any other

team, you score for a four point lead

with 40 seconds left.

And you're pretty much thinking it's in the

bag.

There's no way the other team with no

timeouts in 40 seconds is going to drive

the length of the field.

I mean, is it impossible?

No.

Is it very improbable?

Yes.

But when it comes to the Cowboys, not

so much.

Oh, my goodness.

Porter in the game.

Porter Jr. on the field.

We'll see if he is going to be

shadowing Collins.

He does appear to be lined up on

that side.

Stroud running back in the backfield.

He's going to go deep on this one.

This might be an interception.

Bland over his head, not able to get

to it.

Nine seconds left.

There is a flag on the play.

What is this?

Off sides.

Now, I mean, that's not the worst thing

in the world.

Not the worst thing in the world.

I mean, you gave him a little bit

of an advantage with the yardage, but you

wasted seven seconds.

Not bad.

Cowboys got to stay disciplined here, man.

This is not the time to be messing

with the penalties.

Come on.

That's the one thing you can't have right

now at the end of the ballgame.

Pickens looking on.

Stroud running back in the backfield.

Nobody rushing.

And now he's going to let it loose.

What happened?

Okay.

I couldn't quite see the ball.

We can breathe.

We can breathe.

The Cowboys are going to win this one.

Thirty four to thirty.

Oh, my goodness.

Anybody else heart temporarily stop while you figured

out what happened to that football?

I don't know why my eyes couldn't track

it, but the Cowboys get a big win.

What happened here?

Yeah, it went.

That's right.

It went through the hands and the Texans

player was right there.

That's exactly what happened.

That's why.

That's why the heart went in the throat,

man.

Ball went right through the hands and the

Texans player was right behind him.

Oh, my goodness.

Who was that?

It went right through the dude's hands.

Couldn't get it down.

Oh, that was Hooker.

Went right through Hooker's hands.

My goodness.

Game quickly going to switch over to Rams

Eagles here.

Oh, can we get an Eagles loss to?

We're about to get treated to an Eagles

L.

Is that is that what's going on here?

My Sunday Ticket flipped over to Eagles Rams

Eagles in a similar situation as the Texans.

They are down four with the football.

No timeouts here.

Are we about to get an Eagles loss

in a Cowboys win within a five minute

period?

Let's go, baby.

Come on.

Oh, now I'm fired up.

What a win from the boys on the

road.

Just not easy to do it.

Look, Texans obviously are not the elite of

the elite in the NFL.

They are oh, and four for a reason,

but still great defense.

You're on the road.

Hurts fumbles.

Oh, oh, they got it back.

They got it back.

But time is ticking down.

Oh, I thought game over there.

They they're they have no shot here.

Ball at their own 12 yard line, man.

They got 88 yards to go.

18 seconds, 17, 16.

Come on now.

Hurts nowhere to go with the football.

Let's rip.

And not an interception.

Four seconds left.

Oh, they are giving him the interception.

Yay.

Nay.

What are we doing here?

Hey, look, either way, the Rams are going

to knock off the Eagles within a five

minute period.

We get treated to a Cowboys win and

an Eagles L.

Let's go.

Next deck.

Appreciate you.

Thank you so much.

Not needed.

Very much appreciated.

Oh, the variety, too.

The variety.

I love it.

Next deck.

Appreciate.

Thank you so much.

Seriously.

Birds lose.

That is what we're doing right now.

Yes, sir.

Tex Max.

The fighting Sean McVay's get it done in

Philly as Nick Sirianni looks on.

Rams going to kneel it down for the

dub.

Oh, that feels good.

Oh, that feels good.

Next deck.

Appreciate you.

Thank you for the gifts.

All the gifts is getting that getting that

gift case locked and loaded.

I love it.

Hey, good stuff today.

Cowboys get a win.

Eagles get a loss.

Hard to top days like this.

It really is.

Hey, let's let's talk about this game, though,

for the Cowboys.

Dallas like they actually answered today, man.

It's always interesting to see when the Cowboys

get down double digits.

What are you going to get?

What kind of response are you getting?

Are we going to get the game where

there's just a total implosion and it gets

embarrassing?

Or are you going to get something like

what we just saw today where the Cowboys

score 14 unanswered points to take a four

point lead late?

The defense surrenders a touchdown to make it

30 to 27.

And then Dak Prescott leads the Cowboys down

along with CeeDee Lamb on a game

winning drive.

Dak gets a lot of criticism.

I brought this up.

I brought it up multiple times this year.

Dak gets a lot of criticism.

True, people were blaming Dak for the Ravens

loss last week.

No clue how you get to that conclusion.

Dak is the reason we lost the Ravens

game.

Zero clue how you get there.

Understood.

He wasn't able to punch it in along

with the offense late in Rio against the

Ravens.

But can we get real?

Dak's the reason we lost the Ravens game.

Did you see the last series?

Did you see what the defense was giving

us in that ballgame?

Dak today making every bit of the 60

plus million that he's getting paid every bit

of it today.

Dak Prescott, final line for him.

335 yards, 32 for 45, 99.8 rating.

Dak added seven yards on the ground.

CeeDee Lamb, 17 receptions, 189 yards, 21

targets.

CeeDee with a ridiculous game today.

Ridiculous game today.

Hey, a Stars win would make it even

sweeter.

And DFW fans are going to die and

go to heaven with a day like today.

Cowboys get a win, 34-30.

They approved a 2-2 on the season.

We have got a little bit of everything

for you today, but more than that, we

want to hear from you guys.

So drop a comment, drop a question.

Would love to see what your hottest take

is from this game.

What do you walk away with as the

number one thing in your mind standing out

after a ballgame like this?

Let it go in the chat.

I've got a lot to say, but I

want to hear from you guys too.

Tristan, what's good?

Calment from Facebook here.

Cowboys win, Eagles lose.

Go Cowboys.

Yes, sir.

Les, what's good?

Close game.

Comment from TikTok there.

Yep, definitely a close game.

Look, road games, it doesn't matter who the

opponent is, especially when you've got a front

like what Houston has.

I know there's going to be some people

downplaying.

Hey, it's a winless Texans team.

Okay, but let's not pretend like they're terrible.

I know that they haven't won a football

game.

Let's not pretend like they don't have any

weapons on that team.

You've got Jadeveon Clowney who we watched

last year.

Well, you know what he brings to the

table?

And Will freaking Anderson, dude is a monster.

Was terrorizing the offensive line all game long.

I don't know.

I just don't walk away from this game.

Well, you know, it's the 0-4 Texans.

Come on, man.

Were you actually watching?

And the Texans have definitely lost all their

games this year.

You cannot take that away.

They've lost some close games.

Let's be clear about that.

It is not been Texans getting skunked every

single time they've gone out there.

You lost a close game to the Bills.

You lost a close game to the Colts.

You lost a close game to the Cowboys.

The Bengals did beat them by a couple

of scores.

But even in that Bengals game, you know,

it was what seven to three at halftime.

I mean, these are all close games, man.

They absolutely are a team with talent that

I think is going to get a couple

of wins before the season's done.

And when I say that, I think they'll

end up making a little run here.

The team feels like they've got too many

weapons to be a team at the bottom

of the barrel for too long.

Tex-Max, I'm with you on this.

Collins almost roasted us.

Comment from TikTok, we made just enough adjustments

on third down to shut them down.

To that point, to that point, if we

look at the team stats here, Texans on

third down were three for 10.

They did not attempt anything on fourth down.

You'll take that from this Cowboys defense, man.

You will take that.

Absolutely.

Look, we keep rolling.

Bunch of y'all I know have commented.

I'm going to make sure I try and

roll back as much as I can.

Lord Tubbington, what's good?

I'm sorry, my friend.

Hey, look, I actually, I'm not just saying

this.

I actually really like what the Texans have.

You've got Montgomery, you've got Collins.

Stroud, I know has been a little bit

uneven the last couple of years, but you've

got some weapons on this team on offense

and on defense.

Defensively, I know they gave up 34 today.

Cowboys had it tough at multiple junctions in

this game.

I don't know.

I don't walk away watching this Texans team

feeling like they're the worst team in the

NFL by far if you just totally took

away the records.

Feels like they're definitely not too far behind

some of the teams that many of us

would consider above average.

Lonnie, what's good?

Comment from you too.

Wow.

Great game.

Go Cowboys.

Absolutely.

Lonnie.

Thanks for hanging out.

Austin says a Facebook comment here.

Williams, Lamb, and Nico Collins in fantasy.

How many fantasy points does CeeDee get for

that?

Let's see.

Is it depends on if you're in the

half point PPR or the full point, but

if you're in full point PPR, you got

17 alone on the receptions.

Then you got another 18 to 19 for

the yardage plus the touchdown.

41 PPR full.

Hey, Bryce, appreciate you, man.

That is ridiculous from CeeDee.

And then even Pickens found a way at

the end to make it interesting with his

stat line.

You got what?

Did you get double digits?

Almost got double digits out of Pickens.

You got two and then 75 Javonte Williams,

man.

He had the monster game as well.

I mean, look, he's easily got what, 25

for you.

Good stuff.

Very, very good stuff.

We did it.

Hey, Rangers 1572.

Appreciate you, man.

We did it.

Cowboys get a win on the road in

Houston.

Never easy on the road in the NFL.

This isn't good stuff.

Love to see the Cowboys get down and

then respond.

Not totally is wither away like you've seen

them do a number of different points over

the last multiple decades, man.

I mean, this feels like you're all, you're

watching always the same version of Cowboys football,

just different players getting in the mix.

I mean, that's how I feel sometimes you're,

you're doing the ground hogs day thing sometimes

with this franchise, aren't you?

Different faces, different names, but this game was

going to go one of two directions.

You were either going to get skunked or

you were going to make it competitive.

And fortunately the latter ended up happening.

I am with this comment, tick-tock comment

here.

Joey Porter Jr.

Really changes this team.

I do think Christian Parker, because of the

Porter Jr.

Trade gets a little bit of a reset

here.

He gets a little bit of a mulligan.

I know some people are going to continue

to go in on him.

I'm not saying that, that I personally see

it that way, but I just think in

the sport itself within the franchise, a lot

of people are going to be saying to

themselves, let's see what he does.

Now that Joey Porter Jr.

Is in the mix and week one, you

can have Porter Jr.

Do the man thing.

He did man coverage multiple times today against

Nico Collins, couple of plays definitely was blanket

in him, locking him up pretty well.

Nico still had a great game today.

Seven receptions, 118 yards.

Let's not pretend like the secondary shut him

down.

They didn't, but I do think you're going

to get a couple of weeks here.

Porter Jr.

Getting acclimated to the defense, clearly playing man

coverage doesn't take a lot of acclimation, but

you're not going to have Porter Jr.

Manning up every single time.

You're not.

And so it's going to take a second.

I think it'll take a week or two,

but hopefully after a couple of weeks has

passed by, you're able to a little bit

more accurately grade the trade grade.

What Christian Parker is doing.

I think you got to give him some

flowers for what he was able to accomplish

on third down with this team.

Three for 10 on third down is a

big improvement.

Yes.

The Texans score 30.

Nobody is pretending like they didn't, but I

just feel like you take the numbers out

of this one.

It felt like a better performance from the

defense.

It feels like a better performance.

I'm not saying that it is.

I'm just giving you my gut reaction.

And let's be clear.

It wasn't like there was a very high

bar set by the first three weeks of

the season.

Again, nobody should be getting this twisted.

The bar was pretty low.

This feels like one of the better performances

from the defense.

I understand it's still not great.

I understand it's not elite, but if I'm

thinking about the first three ball games that

this defense played, and then I'm thinking about

today's performance, it felt much better.

And I know maybe that's sad to say

when you see 30 on the scoreboard, but

that's my gut feeling.

Appreciate all y'all hanging out, John.

What's good brother.

Comment from YouTube here.

Good day for Dallas.

Last drive was almost a backbreaker.

It was, it was, you needed a stop

there and Texans pretty much marched it right

down the field.

No excuses, but if I had to guess,

that's a little bit of tired legs there

at the end.

That's a little bit of, hey, we've kind

of bent all game long and you finally

got a break there.

And you had Prescott, fortunately, and CeeDee Lamb

bailing out the defense with that incredible drive

there.

Lonnie says, Ed, too tall.

Used to come to the old country store,

get a free meal with a size 22

shoes.

My good size 22.

That is ridiculous.

Size 22 shoe shoe.

Jay man, cry Eagles cry.

Indeed.

Indeed.

I definitely was just thrilled by that sequence.

He had Cowboys win Fox or Sunday Ticket.

I got Sunday Ticket.

It immediately flips to the Eagles and they

lose within like two or three minutes.

Incredible.

Oh gosh.

Kachow.

What's good.

Comment from YouTube.

We need to have a conversation about Bland

Bland after getting paid.

And after the pick six record setting season,

I must say, you don't feel like you're

getting anywhere close to the same level of

play.

He definitely feels a little bit like background

noise right now.

And that's unfortunate for a guy who's making

a pretty penny on the defensive side of

the football.

But DaRon Bland, definitely at this point,

you'd like to see more from him.

I don't know if there's any better way

to put it.

It's not rocket science here for what he's

getting paid.

Bland has to play better.

Has to today had three tackles, no past

deflections.

You did have Hooker with a couple of

pass deflections.

Nice to get Hooker back.

He scared me there at the end.

Hooker had the ball go pretty much right

through his hands.

Texans player was right there behind him or

kind of stopped there for a second on

that deep ball on that hail Mary by

Stroud into the end zone.

But Hooker did have a couple of past

deflections today.

So good stuff from him and the rest

of the defense.

I do think getting Overshown back eventually is

going to help.

I'm not sure that it makes the defense

elite or above average, but I do feel

like at full health, this defense can be

average.

I don't think at full health they can

be elite or above average, but I think

this defense can be at least average when

they are fully healthy.

You got Overshown out there.

Obviously you get Hooker back here.

You have some emerging players.

Clearly, you know, we talked about Barham who

was a little quiet today, right?

Barham only one tackle today, but you feel

like Barham has shown you at least something

here with the opportunity that he has received.

Caleb Downs.

You feel like he's going to keep getting

better.

I hope that the Joey Porter Jr.

Move.

A lot of you guys were talking about

this.

My hope is that the Joey Porter Jr.

Move allows Caleb Downs to play a little

bit more traditional safety.

You know, they were kind of doing the

hybrid thing, moving them around a little bit,

which I mean, I get you're trying to

get creative with the injuries, but I do

think a little bit, maybe not talked about

as much.

If Joey Porter Jr.

Is obviously a great player, one of the

elite corners in the game, in my opinion,

but think about the impact that that's going

to have on Downs.

I do think that that is a little

bit of an underlying story here that might

need a little bit more coverage.

Edge rusher, edge rushers are just young ratatouille.

Appreciate the comments.

Same for the linebackers.

It is.

It definitely is, man.

I saw, I want to talk about this.

I saw some of the big accounts out

there.

Uh, some of the big talking heads I'm

one of the small talking head accounts at

this point.

We'll see how that can change over the

next couple of years.

Knock on wood.

Thanks to all y'all.

That's slowly, slowly, but surely becoming bigger and

bigger.

This is right on Rangers here.

So I want to thank you all for

the support by the way, by having said

that enough already today, but I absolutely think

Micah Parsons, every time this Cowboys team struggles

defensively is going to get brought up.

And I saw some of the talking heads,

you know, I know some of y'all,

uh, watch some of the, the shows each

morning.

Like, uh, I, for a long time, not

that I always think his takes are gold,

but for a long time, like I've, I've

watched the herd, uh, Jason call in.

I like hearing them go back and forth

again.

Don't always love the takes.

Don't always think they're great.

Uh, and Jason came out with the tweet

today, basically like, man, the Cowboys really miss

Micah Parsons.

And I mean, look in a vacuum where

you don't have to pay Micah Parsons, crazy

money.

Sure.

They miss Micah Parsons.

Let's just be real.

If you take money out of it and

you take some of the sideline drama and

off the field drama out of it, of

course they miss Micah Parsons.

Dude drew a ton of attention defensively and

yeah, he absolutely could get to the quarterback.

Now the pushback I've always had with Micah

is you were going to have to pay

him a ton of money, which was not

going to allow you to pay some of

the big offensive weapons, which in an offensive

driven league, you would much rather have.

In my opinion, I'm not saying defense doesn't

matter.

Don't want anybody to get that twisted, but

I think we all understand this is a

league that favors the offense.

So I do think spending money on defense

is important, but I also think at the

end of the day, you got to make

sure your offense is competent.

I don't think the Cowboys made a mistake

at all trading away Micah.

In fact, I think it's actually the other,

the other way around.

I think Micah blew his opportunity.

I don't think Micah Parsons is loving it

in Green Bay right now when he had

an opportunity to play his entire career with

the Dallas Cowboys, had been a little less

dramatic.

And that is what it was at the

end.

It was the podcast.

It was the, the agent, the back and

forths in the media.

It was a lot of petty stuff.

And at the end of the day, it's

just like, all right, we'll, we'll go ahead

and we'll just reset this thing.

Go get Kenny Clark, turn it into Ken

and Willie Quinn and Williams as well.

I think the Cowboys look at the trade.

And of course they'd like to be better

on the edge.

Who wouldn't, but giving Micah Parsons top dollar

would not have allowed you to do some

of the things they've done with the offense

re-signing Javonte.

Don't know if you can do that.

If you've got Micah Parsons getting paid a

bag, talk about Pickens, paying him what they

are this year on the one-year deal

on the franchise tag, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb.

All these guys are getting paid big bucks.

You give a bag to Micah Parsons and

you're probably not going to be able to

do some of those deals.

Now, a couple of other points to there.

I think it goes without saying Micah definitely

disappeared in some big games for the Cowboys.

You think about some of his playoff performances.

You think about some of the big regular

season games.

Micah for me, routinely disappeared in big moments

too much.

And so I don't ever sit around and

think, man, I wish we had Micah.

I'm actually good with what the Cowboys did

there.

And I think it was the wisest move.

Do they need to get better on the

edge?

Yes.

Was it a mistake not to pay top

dollar for an edge rusher that has disappeared

in big games, especially in playoff games?

No, it wasn't a mistake.

Was not a mistake.

Micah's always going to get brought up when

the Cowboys struggled defensively and people were starting

to bring his name up today.

I guarantee you it's the other way around.

The Cowboys are not longing for Micah Parsons.

If you had to pick one or the

other, Micah Parsons is probably longing to be

back on the Dallas Cowboys.

And it's not because the Cowboys are, you

know, an elite, always Superbowl contending team.

I know Cowboys fans get that rap.

It's always our year.

Superbowl, here we come.

Hey, look, if you followed me long enough,

you know, that's not my take at the

start of every season, but the only time

I feel like Micah Parsons is getting talked

about these days is when the Cowboys are

playing.

And that should tell you just about all

you need to know about the situation.

We keep rolling.

Appreciate you guys.

I know a lot of you guys are

talking about the refs.

Look, we could go back and forth all

day about refereeing.

It's never going to be perfect.

Definitely felt like some of the calls today,

some of the calls on the Texans, a

little ticky-tack.

Do I feel like or walk away from

this game like, man, the Texans deserve to

win?

I don't know if even a Texans fan

would walk away thinking that.

Like, on that last drive, Dak and company

just kind of ate the Texans' defense lunch.

I mean, that was not a penalty-aided

drive.

Some of the other ones down there deep

in the red zone, I know they did

have a couple of penalties.

Absolutely matters.

I don't want to sweep it under the

rug, but I don't feel like you walk

away from this game thinking Texans should have

won.

Texans really offensively, they had their moments.

You didn't run the ball very well at

all.

10 carries for 24 yards for David Montgomery.

I mean, they definitely had a plan to

come in and pass the football today.

10 carries for 24 yards, Quinnen Williams, Kenny

Clark.

They definitely were shutting down that running game.

In the air, a little bit of a

different story.

They beat a winless team.

I mean, yeah, that's something that somebody that

didn't watch the game would say.

I mean, that's how I feel.

You're just going to go to the standings,

to the wins and losses.

You didn't watch the game.

I think most people that actually watch the

game come away saying the Texans have some

talent, man.

They've got some great players.

How do you not look at Will Anderson?

How do you not look at what they

have on defense and say, yeah, that's above

average?

How do you not look at what they

have on offense and say, yeah, that's not

a terrible offense.

You can definitely cherry pick the win loss

all you want, but if you actually watch

the football game, I think your takeaway is

on the road against a formidable opponent.

Owen for sure, but we already went through

the Texans results.

They've lost a lot of close games this

year.

They could easily have a couple of wins.

They don't.

I think it's a lazy, very lazy take

just to sit there and say it's an

Owen 14.

Like you're not watching the game.

If that's your biggest takeaway here, we keep

rolling.

John says, dude, we got lucky on that

dropped interception on that last drive.

Glad that one wasn't picked.

Yeah, Dak, that one just didn't even have

enough mustard and it was ill-advised and

that would have been an incredible interception to

pick that one up off the ground.

Ill-advised though from Dak.

I will agree with that.

I'll absolutely agree with that.

All right.

I got some things to roll through as

we wind this thing down today.

Man, CeeDee Lamb, Dak leading the Cowboys on

a winning drive, a fourth quarter comeback.

Wonder how many that is for Dak Prescott,

by the way.

If anybody has that stat, drop it in

the comment section.

Nano, what's good.

Thank you for the gifts.

Not needed, but much appreciated, brother.

I mean, how many fourth quarter comebacks has

Dak Prescott engineered?

That is the number that I would like

to know.

Dak, 335 yards, didn't turn the football over.

I just love the offensive response.

Have major questions about the defense still.

Curious to see how Joey Porter Jr. continues

to get acclimated and integrated, but look, you

allowed Houston just three conversions on third down

out of 10.

I think overall, it's a great win.

Not a clean win, but it's a great

win on the road.

Keep going.

Look, today you saw Cowboys really have to

win this football game twice.

This is what separates today from a normal

comeback.

Dallas had already erased a 10 point deficit,

got the lead.

It was 23-13 at one point, 27

-23, 14 unanswered.

Dak then has to answer again after the

Cowboys defense allows the Texans to make it

30-27.

So Dak, really two comebacks in this football

game.

And this is the kind of late game

possession I really feel like Dallas absolutely needed

after some of the frustration that we've already

seen coming out of this offense this season.

Look, plenty of things to critique from this

game, but the response when Dallas absolutely had

to have points, that to me deserves real

credit.

And I think let's start with CeeDee if

we're giving out credit.

17 catches for 189 yards is freaking ridiculous.

And the volume matters because Houston knew where

Dallas wanted to go with the football.

How do you not think that Dallas wants

to feed CeeDee in the passing game?

They still couldn't stop it.

CeeDee throughout the game made huge catches, finished

it off with a winning touchdown.

And this is exactly what a true number

one receiver is supposed to look like when

a game gets desperate, when a game gets

close.

You're paying CeeDee healthily.

You are paying CeeDee good money.

And he showed up when you really needed

it.

He was the offensive player of the game

in my mind.

I think Dak can be right there, but

this is a monster performance from CeeDee.

Javonte definitely in the mix as well.

Three touchdowns.

You feel like when the game was on

the line, though, it was Dak and CeeDee

doing their thing.

And that's what you saw on that final

drive.

Appreciate all the comments so far.

It comes to a comment from TikTok.

You're not seeing improvement on defense.

I do think we're going to have to

give it a week or two just to

see what Joey Porter Jr. continues to look

like and what the defense continues to look

like as they adjust to him.

Now, I do feel like it's a two

week period for me.

Let's see what it's like next week.

I'd probably even give them the week after.

So next week, by the way, we're going

to get into the preview of next week's

game here in just a little bit.

Cowboys are playing this Thursday, by the way,

night football.

They play at Cowboys Stadium, 5.15 p

.m. for me, 7.15 start for all

y'all in Texas.

Cowboys are favored by nine and a half

right now.

Thursday night football next.

So a quick turnaround.

We're going to preview that Tampa Bay game

here in just a little bit, by the

way.

But I am going to see what do

they look like against Tampa Bay?

I don't even think you can judge it

after Tampa Bay because it's such a short

turnaround.

That's why you heard me say two weeks,

right?

We saw this week the quick turnaround Thursday

night.

Then after that, the Cowboys play at Green

Bay.

That should be a fun one.

Talking about Micah Parsons earlier, that should be

a fun one.

September, excuse me, October 18th, Dallas goes to

Green Bay Sunday night football.

That should be a ton of fun at

Lambeau.

We'll preview the Tampa Bay game.

We'll preview the game at Lambeau on Thursday.

Good stuff.

Dak to me, let's go back to the

offense.

I know we talked about Dak a little

bit already.

We definitely led with CeeDee and his incredible

game, CeeDee on the day.

Once again, 17 catches, 189 yards.

Dak to me doesn't have like a superstar

stat line.

The yardage looks nice.

335, 32 for 45 on the day, a

touchdown and no interceptions.

Not gaudy stats had seven rushing yards.

I mean, it's not like this was some

dual threat attack for most of the afternoon.

He didn't have the touchdown passes because Javonte

was finishing off all the drives.

They were just feeding Javonte.

And that's what I've said.

They should do more and more of all

season long.

That doesn't mean that Dak wasn't driving this

offense though.

Dallas kept moving the football because Dak kept

finding CeeDee over and over and over again.

And he also hit Pickens with that huge

53 yarder and avoided the mistakes that typically

kill comebacks.

John and I were talking about the interception

that wasn't on that last drive.

Dak trying to thread the needle a little

too finely, almost had a ball picked off,

didn't put a whole lot on that pass.

And that was almost disaster.

Nevertheless, Dak avoids that big turnover that can

totally kill a comeback.

And when the game finally required him to

throw the touchdown himself, man, he delivered it.

43 ticks left on the clock.

That's a pretty great quarterback response in a

game that Dallas absolutely couldn't afford to lose.

You go one in three, you start one

in three.

I don't know what the statistics are.

I can't imagine the playoff odds are great

when you start a season one in three.

I do agree with Tecumseh here.

TikTok comment, Dak was pressured too much.

Now, a lot of that is Will Anderson.

Dude is a monster.

I don't think there's any way around that.

I don't really think you can sit here

and say, you know, they got to block

him better.

I think they were trying pretty hard.

They were doing different things.

Now, on the final drive there, right before

CeeDee scores the last touchdown, they did allow

Will Anderson unblocked to the quarterback.

That was not a okay.

That was not ideal to say the least,

but they were trying different things.

They were chipping him.

They were double teaming at times.

It really didn't matter.

Will Anderson just imposed his will and that's

what he does against pretty much everybody that

he plays.

So for me, I'm definitely not going in

too hard on the offensive line.

Does it need to be better?

Yes.

But at the end of the day, were

you playing a really good defensive front from

the Texans and probably the best pass rusher

in the league?

If not top three, yeah, you were.

We keep rolling.

Javonte, let's finish it off with the trio

here.

We talk CeeDee, we talk Dak.

Let's talk Javonte.

Three rushing touchdowns on 19 carries.

The rushing average itself came down a little

bit.

Javonte started getting stuffed.

I feel like in the third quarter, beginning

of the third quarter, he was at a

pretty healthy, like four yards per carry.

Started getting stuffed a little bit at the

end of the game there.

Maybe as the O-line was getting a

little bit tired after getting worked by Will

Anderson and company for most of the ball

game.

Who knows?

Javonte, possibly a little bit of tired legs

as well.

We'll have to see what they say in

the post game.

But Javonte definitely got slowed down a little

bit there late, but at the end of

the day, scored when it mattered.

Dallas got near the goal line three different

times and they trusted Javonte three different times.

And a lot of us last game screaming

down in the red zone, especially down within

the five yard line, feed Javonte.

And they did.

I think that this clearly is a recipe

for success.

I know a lot of y'all get

tired of the relentless fade balls that they

try to throw to Pickens and CeeDee Lamb.

You know what?

Pickens and CeeDee are good enough.

They can catch those, but it's a fine

throw.

You got to have a really high quality

throw from Dak.

I mean, look, I'm not saying that Dak

can't do it.

If I'm just giving you my eye test,

I don't know that that's Dak's specialty is

the fade ball to the back of the

end zone.

You tell me if I'm off base.

I just don't feel like that's Dak's specialty.

There are some guys that can throw that

head back shoulder fade like nothing, like clockwork.

I don't know that I put Dak into

that category.

Dak does a lot of things really, really

well.

I just don't know if over the years

I feel like that is his best pass.

You tell me if I'm out of line,

but I like and much prefer let's run

the football when we are two or three

yards away.

Maybe one fade ball.

Sure.

You get a one-on-one matchup.

You try to exploit it.

Okay.

But feed Javonte.

Run the football when you're two yards away.

You have to, have to be consistent when

you are down there at the goal line,

getting the football across the line, running the

rock.

And today they did that at a much

better clip.

They did that with much more willingness.

Like last week, it felt like painful for

them to run the football or to try

to run the football.

They just kept going to the pass.

I love that.

They kept going back to Javonte.

Hey, tick-tock comment here.

Agree with this a hundred percent.

There's better options in the fade.

It's not like we don't have the players,

right?

I think we can all agree.

They've got two of the best wide receivers

in the game.

And I know that Dak Prescott for me

is a bit disrespected in terms of his

place on the top 10, top 15, top

seven or eight quarterback list.

Dak does a lot of things.

Well, I just don't know that the fade

ball is his specialty.

He can do it, but I just feel

like there's better options down there.

I really do.

All right.

Defense.

I know some of y'all are talking

about the defense.

I've already given you my take for the

most part.

I definitely don't think the defense was perfect

today.

And as John is saying here, YouTube comment,

ugly win is an ugly win.

We'll take it.

Dude, we'll take it.

That is the reality.

Survive in advance.

These games count the exact same as games

in January, week 17, week 18.

These games count the same as the December

games.

I feel like I'm doing a Rangers podcast

right now, man.

Games in March and April mean the exact

same as games in August and September.

So it doesn't matter that the Cowboys gave

up 30 points today.

What matters is they won the football game

is 30 points.

Something that you can work on moving forward.

Absolutely.

You know, the coaches are going to be

having a lot of bulletin board material, a

lot of material to impart to the players.

That's the beautiful thing though.

For those of y'all that have played

the game, for those of y'all that

have coached the game, you know, this, you

win a football game, but there's a lot

of things to clean up.

That's actually how, how it should work.

You like to have games where you get

out of it with a dub, but you

go back to work the next week and

man, there sure are ways that you can

get even better.

And I think that that is clear for

this defense.

Was it perfect today?

No, I will say it felt like one

of their better performances.

Granted, the bar was very low.

It was very low, but this felt like

a performance that was maybe more memorable to

me than any of the others.

You had a lot of getting off the

field on third down today.

That is a legitimate positive.

You can keep going back to 30 points.

I already said, and already, you know, clap

back at a couple men.

Like we can cherry pick the box score

stuff all day long, 30 points, you know,

uh, 300 plus yards to Stroud.

Now, how about three for 10 on third

down?

How about getting off the field seven out

of 10 times on third down that matters?

That's not nothing.

I do think this was the best defensive

performance of the season.

I get the bar is very low, but

I do think there's some building blocks here.

Easy money.

I think this is really well put.

Like the defense is not great, but they

stepped up today.

They got off the field seven out of

10 times on third down.

That is something to be proud of.

That is something that really contributed to winning

this football game.

Now imagine if they wouldn't have gotten even

two or three of those, this game very

well may could have been a loss.

We won the game.

That is where I stand at the end

of the day and really just to put

a bow on the defense.

We, we did give up 397 yards today.

That was on only 52 plays, 7.6

yards of play.

That's not ideal.

Stroud was at about 350 yards through the

air.

Nico Collins, seven catches 118, two touchdowns.

Houston did create explosive plays without needing long

methodical drives.

And I think that is what concerns you.

You love the seven or 10 getting off

the field on third down.

The explosive plays is what concerns me.

Like let's actually talk ball right now.

We can say 30 points.

You know, we can talk about yards and

totals.

It's the explosive plays.

If you really want to criticize this defense,

that's what you want to lock in on.

There are way too many explosive plays.

You have, you know, the one right away

at the beginning of this ball game, the

explosive plays are what they need to reel

in.

Dallas got the stops.

You know, they, they took the 27, 23

lead, got to stop.

You had the offense not able to really

run the clock out, gave the ball back.

Houston came back and scored, made it 30

to 27.

You definitely had positives today.

Getting off the field on third down was

huge, but look surviving explosive place, which they

did today.

It's not the same thing as fixing them.

Like just because you survived these big plays,

doesn't mean it's, it's all good.

You're going to get burned in a much

worse way.

Continuing to allow teams to get these 40

or 50 yard gains on you.

That just totally flip a series and can

flip a game.

Look at the end of the day, you

got a quick turnaround Thursday night football.

You play the Bucs, 10-point favorites.

I definitely am going to be curious to

see how the defense comes out on short

rest like that.

But nevertheless, I think you got to give

them some credit.

They didn't get the stop at the end.

I, they, they give up the touchdown that

makes it 30 to 27, but still could

have gotten uglier.

And they did make some key stops when

it mattered.

There's a lot to improve upon.

Still.

I'm interested to see what Christian Parker continues

to do with Caleb Downs in the wake

of the Joey Porter Jr.

Move, but obviously Joey Porter Jr.

Himself and how you're going to utilize him.

Are you going to make him mostly just

man coverage?

Are you going to do a little 50,

50 ball in that regard between zone and

man?

It's going to be curious to see what

they do with him.

And I do think you got to give

a couple of weeks here for him to

get totally integrated and acclimated defense though, remains

the biggest thing that a lot of us

don't trust about this team right now.

I don't think I have to say that

twice.

I think one other thing I want to

address as we wind down the show, before

we do the preview of the Thursday night

game, Houston finished with 13 penalties for 90

yards.

That is a mess.

If you're a Texans fan, I think that

is one of the biggest things you point

to today for why you lost the football

game.

I think some Texas fans are going to

go the, we were cheated route.

There was some undisciplined play by the Texans.

No doubt.

And the Cowboys took advantage of that.

That is fair.

Were there some questionable plays that could have

gone either way?

Some questionable penalties, some 50, 50 flags.

Yeah.

There were always happens in a football game.

I don't think any Cowboys fans should pretend

otherwise still there are going to be fans

on each side that are going to see

this one differently.

There's going to be Cowboys fans who say

that Houston gave the game away.

That's fine.

Houston absolutely hurt themselves today with all the

flags.

Dallas though, this is always my takeaway with

penalties.

Dallas still had to turn those penalties, those

mistakes into touchdowns.

And that is what they did on that

final drive.

That wasn't a crazy penalty flag aided drive.

That was Dak and CeeDee basically ramming it

down your throat.

Hey, that is the reality there.

Was it definitely helpful down in the red

zone?

You had a couple of key holding pass

interference flags earlier on in the ball game

in the second half too.

Yes.

I still say the undisciplined penalties from the

Texans.

And there were a number of those.

It wasn't just 50, 50 PI flags, holding

flags.

You definitely had some undisciplined penalties from Houston.

Dallas capitalized on them.

And that is what good teams do.

Dallas.

I don't know if we can sit here

and say they're great.

They're above average.

They definitely have the pieces to be that.

I do think you need to see a

little bit more consistency before you proclaim it

though.

All right.

On deck Tampa Bay Thursday night.

Hey, appreciate this.

Let's go Cowboys from Nebraska.

TikTok comment.

What's good, my guy.

Actually fun fact, spent some time in Nebraska.

I went to college there, not at the

university, small, small school, about 20 minutes away.

And yeah, look, enjoyed my time there for

sure.

Go Cowboys brother.

Low Ritz Mayfield isn't looking so good so

far this year.

Yeah.

Let's, let's dive into Tampa Bay.

Shall we?

Tampa Bay lost 17 to 14 to green

Bay and they fell to 0-4.

So the Cowboys are playing winless teams in

back-to-back weeks.

So everybody's just going to say, if we

win on Thursday night, everybody's just going to

say, you, you beat a winless team.

Come on.

I get it.

Can't, can't control it.

I will say, don't let 0-4 fool

you into treating Thursday like a free win.

I get it.

It's minus nine and a half right now

in Vegas, Cowboys are favored by almost double

digit points.

Tampa though, just held Green Bay to 17

points, man.

They they've got a good, I think pretty

impressive defense, just like the Texans did coming

into this game.

Jalon Daniels gives Dallas a completely different quarterback

problem.

Stroud hurt them actually vertically today.

We know Stroud can run a little bit,

but Stroud hurt them vertically.

Daniels we know is a bit different.

He's going to hurt you by extending plays

and by taking off.

And the Cowboys have struggled against running quarterbacks

this year.

Think about Jayden Daniels for the commanders.

Think about Lamar Jackson.

The Cowboys have struggled against mobile quarterbacks.

That definitely is something that you want to

see Christian Parker shore up.

Can you contain these guys that are consistently

breaking, contain getting outside the pocket, making either

plays with their feet or because of their

extension of the play, finding open receivers and

taxing your secondary.

That is the biggest issue in the video

that I put out today before the game.

If this pass rush can make it hell

on some of these opposing quarterbacks, that is

going to go a long way, helping out

a secondary that at this point is not

one of the better ones in the NFL.

Joey Porter Jr.

Helps.

But at this point, the Cowboys secondary not

highly acclaimed.

If you can rush the passer and you

can force whoever it is that's standing back

there, trying to deliver the football into quick

throws into mistake throws, takes a lot of

pressure off of a secondary that has a

lot of improvement to make.

Silver bullet was good.

Let's go Cowboys from Bakersfield.

Heck yeah, man.

Love it.

Thank you so much for the comment.

Appreciate you, brother.

Hey, by the way, if you haven't hit

that follow button or that subscribe button yet,

that's what we do every Cowboys game.

So we will be back on Thursday night

to talk ball during the fourth quarter and

after the game.

Cowboys-Bucs.

It's going to be great.

We're previewing that game right now.

Would love to have you come back on

Thursday night.

I cover a bunch of other sports too.

We do college football.

I cover the Longhorns here on the channel.

Also cover the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA

and I cover the Texas Rangers in MLB.

Obviously the Rangers season, sadly has come to

a close, but we have got a lot

of comment, a lot of content coming your

way, especially with football season fully upon us.

I do agree with this French Toast Fury.

What's good comment from TikTok Cowboys should be

three in one.

I kind of said that as the game

was winding down, like you should be three

in one right now.

And honestly you could be four and oh,

if you wouldn't have totally soiled the bed

against New York, that game was ugly.

And Jackson Dart, we're talking about mobile quarterbacks.

Dart ran all over them too.

Christian Parker's got to figure out the mobile

quarterback situation, man.

He does.

Back to the Bucs.

Baker Mayfield, we know missed today's game with

the dislocated right thumb.

Tampa had already missed it, but he's going

to be missing three weeks.

So Daniel was most likely going to be

the starter.

I don't think there's a whole lot of

chance Baker plays.

Dallas has four days, four short days to

get it secondary healthy enough to play another

game after Stroud just threw for 347.

You've got four days, four more days to

better acclimate Joey Porter Jr. See if they

can do it.

And Todd Bowles on the other side, he's

got a short week to attack an offense

that just had to empty a lot of

the tank in Houston.

I do think that's going to be interesting.

How does this offense respond?

You had Javonte running the football hard today.

How does this offense come back and respond?

All right, y'all.

Let's lay in this thing, man.

Let's see.

People are saying, comment from YouTube here.

People are saying there were bad calls and

it was rigged, but I saw like one

or two bad calls and they went on

both sides.

I just feel like I'm going to go

back to what I said maybe just a

few minutes ago.

There were some 50-50 flags today, but

ultimately at the end of the game, I

think the Cowboys, they went down and they

scored the football without a lot of penalty

aided plays.

You saw Dak and CeeDee put together a

great drive there.

You had a lot of undisciplined penalties today

from the Texans.

Yeah, there were some 50-50s on holding

PI, stuff like that, but the Cowboys took

advantage.

That's what good teams do.

And I'm not going to apologize for it,

but we know this is a part of

the game.

It just is.

Let's land this thing.

Today told me this Cowboys offense, they can

take a punch.

They can.

Dallas had multiple opportunities to let this game

get away and you had Dak, CeeDee and

Javonte just keep dragging it back.

Love the fight.

Still unsure about, and this is going to

be no surprise to any of y'all,

unsure about this defense, man.

I don't think this defense is trustworthy right

now.

Although I will give them credit for getting

off the field a lot on third down.

I do want to continue to see and

what I'm watching for next.

How do they continue to integrate Joey Porter

Jr?

How does Caleb Downs continue to develop now

that they have Joey Porter Jr?

You would think Downs can go back to

a little bit more of a traditional safety

role.

I know they were doing some different things

with him and you'll clearly, he is one

of your high ceiling players on defense.

You would think with Joey Porter Jr. Now

in the mix, you can play Downs a

little bit more traditionally.

So I think you're actually looking at a

couple of different things.

Joey Porter Jr. Sure.

But also how does that affect the rest

of the secondary Downs especially?

We will be back on Thursday night.

Hey, Jaren, appreciate the follow.

We will be back on Thursday night to

talk Cowboys-Bucs.

Again, Cowboys are just about 10 point favorites

in that game.

And after Thursday night, you get a week

and a half off and then you go

to Lambeau.

Little Micah Parsons ball game there.

That's going to be good.

Cowboys have, I think, a couple of winnable

games coming up, man.

They really do.

You could easily be four and two in

a week and a half.

They can.

They can win in Dallas against Tampa Thursday

night and they can beat the Packers at

Lambeau.

Packers look a little vulnerable right now to

me.

We'll see.

And the Packers have a big game coming

up against Chicago too.

That's going to be this coming Sunday.

Chicago going to go to Lambeau.

We'll see how that turns out.

It's going to be good stuff.

Thank you for all those that have followed

the show while we are live today, both

during the game and in the post game,

whether you're watching on YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook,

TikTok.

Thank you so much.

You know, this is what we do every

week.

We talk Cowboys football.

I will be talking Thursday night after hopefully

another Cowboys win.

I'll be live during the fourth quarter and

after the game.

I also do a couple of other live

shows during the week.

So don't be surprised if you follow today

for the Cowboys.

I also cover the Texas Rangers.

We do a Wednesday offseason show.

I also cover the Texas Longhorns for college

football.

We do a Saturday show next Saturday will

be a pretty big deal with Red River.

I'm excited about that.

We got a lot of content coming your

way in the next several days throughout this

week.

I'm excited about it and I hope you'll

join us.

Hope you come along for the ride.

Have a great rest of your Sunday.

Have a great week ahead.

And as I always say, attend every show.

God bless and go Cowboys.
