Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.
By the faith of the Son of God they will follow in His steps… – Steps to

Dark blue waves tumble onto the sandy shore in constant
sequences, setting the scene for the perfect morning with my father.
Dabbling my little feet, the cold water wraps my toes in a chilling
embrace. I shiver, my feet desiring to retreat from the waves. Jumping
away from the water, I race across the shore as my feet imprint
themselves upon the wet sand.
The salty breeze blows against me, threatening to hold me
back, but still I run to my father’s side. Gripping his large, calloused
hand, I pull myself to him. In silence, we stand gazing out toward
the hidden horizon. The sunbeams casually peek over the blanket
of clouds, while the small waves break repeatedly upon the smooth,
black rocks lining the edge of the water. All too soon, my father
decides it is time to go, and reluctantly, we begin the short trek home. I
watch as each step we take leaves big and little footprints in the sand:
his are huge in comparison to mine. Intentionally my hand slips out of
his, and I stop in my tracks while he continues walking. I curiously peer
down at the footprints he has left behind. Confusion clouds my mind
as I wonder, How are they so big?
Turning around, he lovingly calls me to him, his arms open
and waiting. Delicately, I place my tiny foot in his own footprint in the
sand and start to walk. I follow in his steps, each one slowly bringing
me closer to him. Taking the last step, I leap into my father’s strong
arms, and he catches me.
In this world, there are numerous trails that lead to various
places, but only one of these paths guides us to our Heavenly Father.
If we follow in Jesus’ footprints, we will be directed along that straight
and narrow road, which leads us straight into His loving arms.
