A new report has identified that £10 billion worth of economic benefits can be unlocked in the West Midlands with the delivery of HS2.
Research into the areas surrounding the region’s three HS2 hubs found that dramatic increases in regeneration and investment have already begun, with the next decade set to bring more.
West Midlands Mayor Andy Street has said that HS2’s arrival to region is spreading prosperity and opportunity for communities.

Engineers are set to begin the final phase of work to modernise the signalling infrastructure in Devon and Cornwall. Network Rail says the works will improve the reliability and resilience of the railway in the south west.

Outdated signals will be replaced by a more modern, digital system. Network Rail sponsor, Paul Collyer, says the new technology will help unlock future development of the railway in the region, including the new Mid Cornwall Metro scheme.
Businesses across the UK stand to benefit from HS2's recent achievement at the Delta Junction, as the first huge viaduct section is successfully installed.
This milestone signifies progress in utilising innovative construction techniques to advance the project efficiently.
The 300-tonne steel section, spanning 84 meters, marks the first of two moves for the "East Link Viaduct" assembly, a critical component of the Delta Junction's intricate network. This triangular junction plays a pivotal role in facilitating high-speed rail travel.
