Hi, and welcome to the state. I'm your host, Rebecca McAvoy. Today's date is 11/25/2025. The forecast predicts that the high will be 48 and a low being 42. This date brings you the stories that matter.

Players 20 five point career day searches MSU women's basketball six to o start. With five thirteen left in the second quarter, number twenty second Michigan State needed a bucket as Oakland cut the lead to eight. Just eleven seconds later, redshirt sophomore guard Kennedy Blair delivered. She drove into the paint for another score just as she had all half, pushing the Spartans lead back to double digits and sparking a twenty seven four run close to half. Blair was unstoppable.

She already had her career high by the five zero two mark in the second quarter and finished with the half 19 points on eight of nine shooting from the field. She ultimately finished with a game with 25 points in just three quarters. The main contributor in a hundred two forty one victory over Oakland. MSU defeats Colorado to clinch historically eight. After two seasons of sweet 16 heartbreak, the Michigan State women's soccer team has finally broken through, earning the first elite eighth birth in program history.

The Spartans beat Colorado two one in a tense end to end match in front of a packed crowd at DeVarne Stadium. Head coach Jeff Hostler said after the match that he's proud of the team that finally broke the sweet 16 curse against a tough Colorado side. With the win, MSU advances to the quarterfinals and will face either number one seed Stanford or number five seed BYU on the road Friday or Saturday, depending on the higher seed. While the Spartans wait to learn their next opponent, they'll focus on the two things that have defined their success, staying true to their playing style and starting strong. East Lansing hosts its first annual Christmas tree lighting.

The city of East Lansing held its first annual Christmas tree lighting at the Ann Street Plaza on Saturday, November 22. The event began at 5PM with a crowd wrapping around the plaza all lined up for hot cocoa, tea, pony rides, and a Division Street parking garage ornament. The tree lighting was hosted by the East Lansing downtown management board. The event also had several local businesses sponsor it, including Recharge Pilates, Douglas j Avitus Institute, Financial Technology, and Macbun Computer and Phone Repair. As an icy evening breeze swept through the crowd, the holiday spirits remained high.

Fitting for the weather, characters from Disney's Frozen, Elsa, and Anna stopped by to take photos and greet the young children in attendance. Families gathered in front of the tree as children ran and played with the highlight wand and other trinkets that they had received.
