What is Daily(ish)?

Challenging myself to record a podcast episode a day for my 50th year on this planet.

Hello and welcome to Dailyish for
Monday, September 28th, 2026, I think.

I'm recording an episode every day for
this, my 50th year on the planet YouTube

viewers will have noticed that I brought
a bowl of nachos, salsa, sour cream as

my late lunch here as I record this as
my reward for finishing the recording.

Unfortunately, I did have to dip into them
a little bit, and so I apologize for any,

uh, nacho mouth noises in this episode.

We'll see how good the, uh,
filters are at getting rid of it.

My brain is not braining today
Since it's Monday, I'm doing the

mailbag and responding to, uh,
listener/viewer comments, and

just, uh, one main one this week.

I apologize if I missed your comment or
reply somewhere on social media between

Mastodon, Blue Sky, Discord, YouTube, uh,
Fax Machine, and Teletype, and Pigeon.

I sometimes miss or forget to reply
to comments, but shout at me again

if I missed it, and I will endeavor
to get it into the next episode.

Anyways, the one comment on YouTube, uh,
was f- in response to yesterday's video

about how I was posting on YouTube again
from, uh, Void and Cra- Void and Cozy,

not Void and Crazy, uh, under an alternate
username on YouTube, so which I get.

That happens.

So I'll do my best to make sure my
brain tracks some of those things.

But anyways, uh, just saying if
money is not the end goal for your

videos, then post what you enjoy,
which is generally what I try to do.

Uh, I, I do feel like there's a slight
business thing that I maybe would be

wasting if I didn't do some sort of
podcasty related stuff on my YouTube

channel, just in terms of, you know,
getting future clients or consulting

jobs through my YouTube channel that
I've gotten in the past might go away.

But, uh, it's not my primary focus
these days, and so I'm happy to

sort of experiment and see what
happens with, with the YouTube stuff.

Coincidentally, the, uh, episode
I did on Saturday, the…

Just talking about video games I was
playing when I recorded it later at

night, and, um, it's gotten over 50
views, which and somehow in ad revenue

it's, like, almost, uh, about $4.50

US, which most of the videos
are, like, one cent, seven cents.

So less views than most videos or
higher-- less views than some of

the higher-ranking videos anyways
in terms of view count, but in crazy

amounts of ad revenue on that one.

So I guess maybe in the future
I should just ramble about video

games even if I don't have a lot
to talk, to say, and do it late at

night where I'm very low energy.

Um, apparently that's what the
advertisers are looking for on

channels like mine anyway, so I won't
be doing that, but it is kind of just

a funny little, uh, analytical trend

All right, just a quick episode today.

Not a lot to talk about, work
to get done, and, uh, also wanna

thank the Patreon supporters, John
and Justin over at transistor.fm,

Abby Fisher, Eileen Smee, Three Guys
Three Questions podcast, and my mom, Lynn.

And also a special mention to Void
and Cozy who, uh, slash Vibe B, I

think is the name on YouTube, joined
my YouTube membership that I didn't

realize I had set up, uh, and turned on.

So just a way to support someone, creators
on YouTube directly, which is kind of fun.

So we'll see.

There is, like, different levels,
membership levels you can set up on there,

but I don't have any, like, gatekeeping
of content or anything like that on there.

So, and they mentioned just in
a reply as to wh- why they did

it there, just an easy way.

They're obviously on YouTube as it is,
and so easy way to support that way

rather than setting up a new account
on Patreon or other things like that.

So anyways, thanks t- for doing that.
