📍 Hello, flower friends. This is Jen and you are listening to the Floral Hustle Podcast. On this week's mini sode, we're going to talk about my, one of my number one efficiency, And that is batching. Batching your work can make you so much more efficient, can make you so much more focused, and so much more, like, aligned in what you're doing, because you're doing, like, one activity.

And sticking to that activity, is helping you really get this done in a more efficient manner because your brain isn't having to like change directions a million different times. So if you are somebody who just kind of picks and, and prods at different little things in your, your schedule all the time.

You need to listen in because this is going to be so insightful. So what is batching? Batching is taking a topic or a thing that you need to get done and really just diving in and doing a bunch of it in a concentrated, focused time. Um, so there's several different ways to batch. You can batch by like picking a day of the month and like batching all of that content out.

You can pick a day of the week and you can batch all that content out. Or let's just say that you need to go and make a bunch of Lomi dishes, um, for an upcoming wedding. So you have to make with foam a bunch of Lomi dishes and you know, you're like, okay. I'm going to just like make a couple of these today and then I'm going to make a couple of them tomorrow.

Well, you're having to like revisit, how do I make this? Like, where are all my tools? Where are all these things? Instead of just really focusing in on getting things done in a concentrated time. This can apply to so many different things. This could apply to, um, making, of course, like pre making things for your weddings.

Or this could apply to social media content. This could apply to cleaning up your QuickBooks. This could apply to, uh, sending out emails, um, to TouchBase. This could be scheduling emails. If you have an email database. So many things can be batched and really done so much more efficiently that I think now is the time to really like step back and think, okay, how am I going to be more efficient this way?

Year, because efficiency Equals dollars in so many ways. And that same goes for like your team is your team periodically doing all these things that maybe are, are not as efficient because they're dabbling in it. If you are making one order. And getting it out the door versus making five orders and getting them at the door.

It's going to be so much more efficient to get all those orders done. And the driver leaves and batches those deliveries in one shot versus coming back and grabbing one, coming back and grabbing one, coming back and grabbing one. Whenever you have the opportunity to batch, you're probably going to be making more money.

So let's just talk about like one thing that I know most, it seems like most humans dread is social media content in batching your social media content. You can get this done with, you can actually have focused energy. Towards the subject. So you're in that brain space, you are in that mindset to really get like that type of work done versus if you go and make an order, then you come and go make one post and then you get a customer call and you're talking to a customer, then you have a consultation and then you're going and doing some sweeping and cleaning.

And then you're going to come back and make another social media post. If you strategically just go and batch. All of that content for let's just say your week or your month or whatever it is, your life is going to be running in such an efficient manner that you are just going to get more done. So there's separate ways to batch.

There is the way that you're like, I'm just going to spend an hour here batching on my content. There's also ways to batch within that for theme days. I try to teach all of my coaching clients and my mastermind girls that. It is so amazing if you can batch your content for days, like theme days. So I have an, I mean, this is made up so you can make whatever you want up.

I usually like to do Monday as an introduction post. So it is, I call it meet us Monday. And that is an introduction post of me. That's an introduction post of my business. That could be about. Flower farming, that could be about, um, how they inquire on your inquiry form. That could be how your service offerings, if you have full service and a la carte, that could be like so many different things.

You're just picking a day and making it around a topic. So it's a theme day and you can also do that for meetings. You could have like client meetings are on Tuesdays. So like on Tuesday, you have. Batching of your client meetings done. Um, also with social media, Wedding Wednesday could be a theme day.

Throwback Thursday could be a theme day. Friday fun day, Tuesday tip day. You could think of a million different like theme days. And then what's so great about picking a theme is that then you batch content around that theme. You're not going, Hmm. What should I post today? I don't know what I should post.

Or if you look at, and I have talked about this in another episode, uh, that you're creating content pillars that you are basically posting within. So these content pillars are your, I call them your JK five. Um, JK five is something Jenna Kutcher, who is the host of the gold digger podcast. And I like one of my favorite podcasts to listen to.

She is actually from my home state of Minnesota. And she came out with this like, Speaking and running your social media off of these five pillars of what you post. So those five pillars are, could be like full service weddings, a la carte weddings. It could be workshops. It could be, um, just like you as a person.

And so people are like getting to know you. Like one of hers was Mac and cheese. She was obsessed with Mac and cheese for a long time. And so like one of her pillars was like all things Mac and cheese Monday. And so she would make. Fun mac and cheese and like share that on her social media. What if you're passionate about an initiative, there is one florist in my market that's really passionate about donating to, um, restore pollinators.

And so she donates like 1%. To pollinators. And so that's like a theme that she can talk within. And it's so helpful to have like this guidance, because with no guidance, you're just like shooting all over the place and you're not targeted in your approach. So when you can be targeted, it's going to help you create increased efficiency.

It's going to create synergy in your feed because you are posting within Like this framework of these things are consistent. So people get to know you, people get to understand, like, this is consistent for your business. So if this is you and you're like, I'm lucky. I even posted the JK five method is, is something that you can read about.

You can actually Google, I'll put a link in the show notes that talks about it, but it is so helpful for you to have a plan. And I know if you've been a long time listener, having a plan is so critical. Like we do so many things with no plan at all. We're just winging it. And. If you want to be a successful business owner, like you need this concentrated focused plan to be as efficient as possible.

So if this is you Go in and really start to dive deep into like, okay, what are things that I think is important to talk about? And then develop a plan based on like, I really want people to know this. So like one of my pillars is cultural weddings. I really want people to know that I do cultural weddings because that is like a lot of what I do.

And it is something that I want to continue If you are a, let's just say a, um, you know, you do corporate installs or you're a hotel florist or you do something like that, you're going to want to build that into a theme day. And once you've built into that theme day, like it's going to be so much easier for you to just be like, okay, I have to pick some posts within this theme day.

And. You're then just going to even batch out a month of those posts so that you're consistently every Monday you're talking about how somebody does business, about your business, about you know, growing flowers, about doing whatever. It's going to be consistent. Then after that you're going to like go in and talk about like weddings.

Full service. Another day you're going to talk about a la carte. Another day you're going to talk about everyday orders. Another day you're going to talk about workshops. Whatever you pick as your JK five, I definitely would pick something that shows how darn lovable you are because people do business with they, with people that they like, trust and respect.

So if this is you, you're trying to figure out what to do, like start developing a plan and start batching that plan. Batching that plan will help you feel so much more at ease because I don't know about you, but I definitely, if I'm not like holding the promises and doing Actually doing the things that I, I know I should be like it, it wears on me.

So I want to make sure that we are set up for success and you can do that by batching your 📍 content.
