Charted

What is Charted?

Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.

Thus the Christian who will not exercise his God-given powers not
only fails to grow up into Christ, but he loses the strength that he
already had. – Steps to Christ, pg. 81
I had played with Rubik’s Cubes for many years, and I loved
it! I especially enjoyed the moments when the Rubik’s Cube was
solved and when I could see the improvement of my skills. Whenever
I look back, I see that I have gotten progressively faster at solving the
puzzle.
Nothing is easy to accomplish. It is not easy to become good
at decoding a Rubik’s Cube. As with all other skills— like playing an
instrument, learning a new language, or writing—it takes many hours
of practice to master the Rubik’s Cube.
There is something called the 10,000 Hour Rule, which states
that people take at least 10,000 hours to develop a professional
skill. Ten thousand is a big number, so there is no way anybody can
accomplish something all at once. It is not even possible to achieve
something in one year because there are only 8,760 hours in a year.
God wants me to daily grow little by little in my personal
relationship with Him. I need to take one step at a time towards Christ
in order to get closer to Him.
CFOP is an advanced algorithmic version of a layer-by-layer
method of solving a Rubik’s Cube, and it is the fastest way to solve a
3x3 cube. I started to learn this method not too long ago, and in order
to master it, I had to memorize a lot of formulas. Whenever I stop for a
minute to practice, I realize how easy it is to forget the formula I have
just learned. I am still working on this and have a long way to go, but I
believe that if I do a little bit at a time, I will reach my goal.
