Kingsley: [00:00:00] Some of the greatest people that you listen to on podcasts, they're dealing with depression, with stress, anxiety right now as they're doing the podcast, it's happening and so don't try to escape it because then we put so much pressure on ourselves to have to try and escape this, that it's impossible 'cause it's never gonna happen.
I wanna take a bit of pressure off you right now. Yesterday I was at a friend's place who invited just a small group of guys to talk. Yep. Guys sitting round talking, eating healthy food. I'm not strange. In fact, it's probably a really healthy thing to do, excuse the pun. But it was a great idea that he put together just getting guys to talk about stuff.
And one of the topics that we are talking about, obviously a big one, is mental health. And we were discussing about mental health, how it affects us, what goes on, how we [00:01:00] think about things, uh, where, what triggers it, all these sorts of things. And, and one of the things I've been thinking about a lot is that, and I'm learning a lot as I go through and study more and, and learn to live life and live life with different people.
And one of the things I've noticed is that we have in our minds this idea of a utopian life where everything's just pleasure and bliss and there's no issues and there's no problem. And, and that's what we think we should be striving for. That's what we think we should be working towards.
I remember, a guy I listened to a lot, ed Millet interviewing the guy that started the 75 hard challenge. Who, I can't remember his name right now. Andy Ella. And now this guy, Andy Ella, has one of the biggest, if not the biggest, privately held companies in the world right now. And yet at the same time, he started literally by sleeping [00:02:00] in the back room of his shop when he first started in business, when he was 19.
And in that interview. Ed asked him, he said, what's it like now that you've got all these people, you've got these massive big offices and construction and you've got offices all over the place. You've got so many people working for you, money's coming in. It must be a great, and he is like, you know what?
It is great. But at the same time, I feel just as much, if not more pressure right now because I've got all these people to look after. I've got all these facilities I've gotta maintain. I've got all of this business. I need to keep the cash flow going. I've gotta make sure that all the customers and my relationships and everything is all working well.
And he went on and on about all the pressures that he has and, and no matter what stage we are at, we all seem to think that there's this utopia out there somewhere that we need to be aiming for and live in because that's what sold to us on social media, on the ads. Hey, if you just take on my course and you do [00:03:00] this course, you'll be lying on the beach anywhere in the world with your laptop doing whatever you like.
Well, the reality is, if you are on the beach with your laptop, the chances are you can't see the screen because a sun's speeding down on the screen and you can't see it very well. So you're not sure what's going on. It's really a bit of an illusion. So what's, what's good for you? And, and as we were talking about this whole mental health side of things, I'll get back there.
One of the things was the fact that. We all live a life where we are never going to escape. Stress, anxiety, pressure, depression, side of things, all of this, it's gonna be with us for the rest of our life. And if we can understand that. That's fine. That's okay. Some of the greatest people that you listen to on podcasts, they're dealing with depression, with stress, anxiety right now as they're doing the podcast, it's happening, and so don't try to escape it because then we put so much pressure on ourselves to have to try and escape this that.
[00:04:00] It's impossible 'cause it's never gonna happen. There's always gonna be pressures and things happening in life. And I wanna read something for you right now that the, the more I look at this, the more relevant it becomes. Now I'm gonna tell you, it's written by the guy that's called the most famous or the wisest person that's ever lived.
King Solomon of Israel back, probably about 4,000. Bc you find it in the Bible and don't turn off right now. 'cause I know I've got a bunch of, friends who are atheists and that's, that's cool. There's no problem with that. But I wanna read this and I think it brings everything into perspective about there is a time for everything in our lives.
So I just wanna read this out real quick. So everything there is a season. It's a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born, a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to harvest. A time to kill, and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry, and a time to laugh. A time to grieve, and a time to [00:05:00] dance.
A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit Searching, a time to keep, and a time to throw away. A time to tear, and a time to mend. A time to be quiet. And a time to speak. A time to love, and a time to hate. A time for war.
And a time for peace. And in there we go through all of those feelings and thoughts on a regular basis. And sometimes it's like, why do I feel like this? Why do I, why do I want to do that? You know what, maybe there's a time for that. There's, there is a time to embrace and there is a time to turn away and the situations and scenarios for all of that.
So listening to that and thinking about your personal life, thinking about. Our, our business life, our professional life, [00:06:00] these areas fit into those things that one of the most obvious is a time for harvest and a time for, planting. That's one of the most obvious of the whole lot, but as you go through that different list there.
Then I would suggest having a look at it and go, you know what? Maybe I have these feelings. Or maybe it is actually a time to stop looking for that. Or maybe it's a time to, I, you know, I really need to keep searching. I really need to keep looking. Maybe it's new customers for your business. Maybe it's time to keep looking for those to keep looking to going more, to go building your business.
Maybe it's time to stop searching because you need to look after the ones that you got. These different things can apply into all sorts of different aspects of our life. But don't try to live in utopia. There's no such thing. In fact, our body was built and designed to strive to reach for something, and it's one of the greatest pleasures that we have to be able to [00:07:00] strive and reach for stuff.
But there is a time for everything and everything. Has its time and its place. Enjoy your life. Love your life. Create whatever it is that you are wanting to create, knowing there's gonna be the good times, the bad times. Tomorrow is not today. That's what there's the joy of life I.
