Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem

Peaches and Viktor cover an impressive range of topics this week, beginning with the exciting announcement that listeners can score free tickets to see Brothers Osborne—provided they're willing to deliver a convincing yee-haw. From there, the conversation shifts into radio station shakeups as Peaches reveals he's officially joining Z103 afternoons and stepping into a larger programming role, leading to discussions about Gen Z slang, TikTok culture, and the challenge of making a Top 40 station sound fresh without turning into a cartoon version of the internet. Just when things seem relatively professional, everything takes a hard left turn into one of the most unforgettable legal questions ever asked online: what happens when someone unknowingly contracts norovirus, falls asleep in a sensory deprivation tank, and wakes up facing an $8,000 cleanup bill? The resulting debate spirals into float tank nightmares, questionable legal defenses, and several scenarios nobody should ever have to imagine. As if that wasn't enough, the guys wrap things up with CPAP malfunctions, mysterious dental concerns, the worst possible places to experience a digestive emergency, and why broadcasting live from a restroom might make for surprisingly memorable radio. It's the kind of episode that starts with country concert tickets and somehow ends with emergency bathroom strategy sessions.

What is Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem?

The Noon Hour Of Madness & Mayhem can be heard live on KBEAR 101 weekdays at 12pm MST. Viktor and Peaches talk about a wide variety of topics depending on the day and you never know what to expect!

[upbeat jazz music] The noon hour of Madness and Mayhem, the podcast.

[upbeat jazz music] Well, Peaches, I realized I did not or we did not announce our big new ticket giveaway for next week after my show. Weren't we gonna do it at the end of my show?

You, you said we were starting it tomorrow, so, uh-

Well, we'll start re- running the recorded promo, but I figured we'd let people know, you know, via our, uh, live voices that we've got some fun stuff coming up. What's, what's going on here? Why am I getting, uh, no audio? [upbeat country music] Ugh, whatever. Anyway, we're weird. We don't give a crap.

[laughs]

We do things that doesn't make any sense, don't make any sense. We don't even know how to talk right. Um-

Speak for yourself.

I am. Anyhow, next week we're giving away tickets to a country show, all right? [laughs] I mean, I guess-

Boo!

[laughs] Now, Peaches, you even said you like some songs from this, this band.

I do.

Brothers Osborne. I guess as far as country goes, they rock more than most country, you know? I- they, they got riffs which you don't generally hear in country.

Every time I listen to It Ain't My Fault, I, I, I feel like I'm in the opening sequence for a movie.

[laughs] Oh, yeah?

I'll be, I'll be driving my car and then you hear that opening beat to that song and I'm like, "Yeah, I'm the, I'm the BA of this film."

[laughs]

I put on my sunglasses, start driving a little bit above the speed limit. Not too much. Little bit above.

Just barely.

Just barely.

Just barely. Just high enough you don't get pulled over.

If it's 40, I go 42.

[laughs] Well, Brothers Osborne is gonna be in Ford Hall at the Sho-Ban Bannock, uh, Casino Hotel.

[laughs]

I don't know.

Speaking of can't talk right.

How to do them-

I do words good.

I do words good.

The duck swam across the lake.

[laughs]

Do you need the bouncing ball? Is that what you need?

Sho-Sho Banat Casino Hotel, Ford Hall, June 20th, one week from tomorrow. Uh, so they gave us a pile of tickets to give away, and we're giving them away in a couple ways. Simple on-air giveaway. Peaches or I will be like, "Call now. Be this caller. Win." Uh, also have-

But, but you also gotta give me your best yee-haw!

Okay. We'll make people give us a good yee-haw. If you don't give us a yee-haw, then we, we'll just be like, "Sorry, you lose," and go to the next caller.

I go, "This town ain't big enough for the two of us," and I hang up on them.

That's right. You can also enter-

It ain't my fault

[laughs] And it ain't Peaches' fault. Uh, if-

See what I did there?

I did. Listeners may or may not get it.

We're like brothers when it comes to our jokes.

Uh, are, uh, like the Brothers Osborne.

Ugh.

Uh, yeah. Um, It Ain't My Fault is a song by the band you should check out. And, uh-

Maybe they can see it live if they win tickets.

Yes. We're, you can sign up in our apps as well.

Oh, cool.

Um, starting, well, whatever point I get that, uh, the page-

Maybe on the menu you should put yee-haw.

[laughs] Just put yee-haw?

[laughs]

Not Brothers Osborne?

No, just put that.

Just yee-haw?

Yeah.

That's a good idea. Click yee-haw in the menu on our apps. It, it might be up by now. It's noon, so it m- I'd have to travel back in time and-

We're pre-recording this at 10:30 in the morning.

[laughs]

Okay? We're not actually live.

We're busy, all right? We're busy.

Victor walked by the Z103 studio and he was like, "Hey, you wanna come do the noon hour?" I'm like, "Sure. Why not? I've got nothing else better to do." I was watching Ryan Seacrest and Elvis Duran talk to each other.

Oh, good for you, Peaches.

Don't you love that too?

I ain't got time for that.

Two guys who make too much money in radio talking about their struggles and how they made it to the top.

Oh, geez.

Where am I? Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Yep. So we're doing our best to make things-

Sorry guys

... better for folks around here, and we know money's tight, and we wanna send you to a show for free. That would be Brothers Osborne, a country show, yee-haw, going down at the Ford Hall, uh, Casino, Sho-Sho Banat Casino Hotel on June 20th. You can buy tickets at shobangaming.com.

Starting next week, we're gonna replace the studio chair with an actual saddle.

That's right. Yee.

I'm gonna come into the studio on a horse.

Yee.

We're gonna see how I fit in the door.

Yee-haw. [upbeat jazz music] Well, I guess since we're spilling the beans on all kinds of things that, uh, seem a little bit crazy, like us giving away tickets to a country show, we've also got something else crazy going down next week. Let's give Peaches a big, fat, "Oh, good for you, Peaches."

I mean, is it good though?

Yeah, it is.

Okay.

It's, uh, it's a better job title, Peaches, which is good.

That's the one thing I'm liking about this.

Yeah. I mean, you're gonna have to dig in and listen to lots of cringey music.

Oh.

[laughs] You're gonna have to ... I mean, you're already pretty good at, uh, diving into the pop culture, news of the day and things. You worked at TMZ. You're perfect to do afternoons on Z103.

That's right.

Brendan Peach. That's what you're gonna call yourself there, right?

Yeah. What's weird is that I'll be doing afternoons on both stations.

Yes.

A lot of people who I've, uh ... 'Cause I've sent Snapchats before of me in the Z studio. They're like, "Wait, why are you in there?" And I kind of already told them.

Yeah.

And they're like, "Well, that's gonna be weird to hear you on Z." But I'm like, "Hey, you know what? It's, it's gonna be the same me." You know? I've ... Uh, Jay's trying to, like, morph me into this, like, "Hey, everybody. How's it going?" Like, I'm not gonna be like that. It's not gonna be this, like-

No, you, you gotta be yourself

... fake personality that all of a sudden I'm just gonna pull out of my butt. No, it's gonna be me.

Well, and pe- most Top 40 DJs are-

Crass-

... so obnoxious

... and, and, yeah, obnoxious. And Elvis Duran, if you wanna listen to his show, he's the, the number one Top 40 pop DJ.

Mm-hmm.

He's the reason why Ryan Seacrest is, you know, in radio and all of that.

Does he still talk like this?

Elvis Duran doesn't talk like that.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Yeah, yeah.

You don't need to talk that way on Top 40 radio. You can be a human being. Uh, also taking over them, uh, promotions, prod- uh, geez. Program.

I can't talk right.

I wanted to say production for some reason, but program director at Z103. Congratulations, Peaches.

Thank you.

I've had that job. It's a lot of work. So yeah, it's been kinda nice, uh, having you and Justin take a little bit of the load off my plate by, uh, dealing with- Scouring everywhere for music the beginning of the week.

It's been nice having you take over the, uh, the, the promos for K-Bear because you got to see what I had to deal with for the past couple of, uh, months, maybe a year.

Oh, yeah, I've, I've done this before, so it was-

You needed help updating the website. What are you talking about?

Yeah, I've never used our new website, so I did need a little bit of a, "Hey, where's this at?" But yeah, doing promotions, piece of cake.

I feel like I'm getting syndicated.

You feel like... Well, you're on two stations now.

Right.

So that's pretty cool. And, uh, it's been nice for, uh, you know, me to be able to show you guys why it took me sometimes longer than Monday to get the music done on multiple radio stations. You know, it does take some time to determine where tracks are going, uh, what tracks are coming in, find out what's new.

The weirdest part is that, um, there's no right answer.

No.

And that's what I'm trying to look for-

Mm-hmm

... every single time. I'm trying to make it as perfect as possible because I want you to see what I did and you be like, "Oh, that was perfect, Peaches."

Bad job.

[laughs] That's not, that's not, that's not what I'm looking for.

[laughs] No, you did fine this week. This week was an easy week. Um, i- in Top 40 it was just add Taylor Swift.

Right.

You know, there was nothing else, uh, big that happened. Um, I scrolled through and took a look quickly to see if anything else popped out at me. Uh, Justin seemed to do pretty good over on The Hawk too, so.

But that's also the reason why I've been bringing up Z103 quite a lot. The listeners were curious of trying to bring up the, uh, Gen Z lingo. I've been trying to-

Mm

... uh, we're revamping that station. We're bring- putting it down to its bare bones is what Jade said yesterday, and we're revamping the entire thing. Of course, the music's gonna stay the same.

Yeah.

But the overall messaging in between the songs, all that stuff's gonna be updated with, uh, the current terminology.

All right. Well, I look forward to hearing cringey Gen Z sweepers. [laughs]

There's gonna be TikTok sounds.

[laughs]

There's gonna be, uh, uh, Vine references, like-

Vine?

... Shia LaBeouf.

Vine is no longer a, a thing.

People like that though.

Yeah.

It's all people, people are nostalgic too.

I guess so.

Like, uh, the, the thing is is that the demo's 18 to 44.

Yes.

So of course the 18-year-olds are not gonna remember what Vine is.

No.

But the 44-year-olds surely are.

Yep, sadly. [laughs]

I mean-

I never used Vine

... and people still li- li- liked, even if like the, even the 18-year-olds are looking up on, uh, YouTube, like old Vine compilations and watching those old videos-

Oh, yeah

... and finding those funny.

Nostalgia is massive right now.

You see? So there you go.

Yeah. So yeah, uh, check out, if, if you, uh, [laughs] wanna listen to Peaches, you can jump back and forth between the stations.

Yeah, it's gonna be pretty much the, the same stories, just tweaked differently.

No.

I told Jade it's gonna be me like, it's gonna be l- over there, it's gonna be me talking to my mom.

Talking to your mom?

Yeah, like keep-

Your mom's outside of the demo

... though keeping the jokes.

It's not classy.

No, but keeping the jokes that not necessarily all that crazy, 'cause you know, there's gonna be kids in the car.

Yeah, not like-

And there, there's kids in the car with K-Bear, but th- their parents are exposing them to this kind of music anyway.

Yeah. Z103 definitely a little bit cleaner. You've got, uh, it, it's not the K-Bear audience listening.

Right.

[laughs] Yeah. You might be on in businesses. You know, shout out to the businesses who play K-Bear. You rule.

That's gonna be s-

All the ones that don't, they're, you're weak

... that's gonna be so much fun to realize I'm, I'm on in a business and I'm just gonna-

It's me

... full on go crass with it. [laughs]

[laughs] Yesterday's noon hour was pretty crass, so yeah. That was fun.

Oh, you just reminded me of something.

Uh, should we save it for the next break?

Yeah, yes, we, yes, we should.

All right. Well, Peach is gonna be a busy man starting Monday. So, uh, if you have any friends that listen to, uh, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift and all that on Z-

Or maybe you secretly do

... or maybe you secretly do, that's fine. I wore a Lady Gaga shirt to work like two days ago. It's fine. Uh, yeah, tell them to listen to Peaches. J- or, uh, Brendan Peach, I should say, in the afternoons on Z starting Monday. [upbeat music] All right, Peaches, you said I reminded you of something when I said we did a crass noon hour yesterday. Uh, what was up?

I hope you're ready for this one. This was, uh, posted in r/legaladvice, and the title says-

[laughs]

... Diarrhea in Sensory Deprivation Tank.

Ugh. [laughs] That's a bad day. You're just all...

Just listening to the sounds of your own body underwater.

Am I in mud? [laughs]

All of a sudden. [laughs] And then all of a sudden you hear this. [upbeat music] Well, not that. Hold on. Uh, th- this is the perfect sound effect for this. [fart] [laughs]

[laughs]

You all of a sudden hear that [laughs] and, uh, I, I don't have any other sound effects, so [laughs] you'll have to deal with it.

You ready to hear this, this whole thing?

Yes.

Title pretty much sums it up. "I paid for a sensory deprivation tank experience not realizing I had contracted norovirus."

Oh, no. [laughs]

"It was about to become, it was about, it was about to became," he wrote, "became symptomatic."

Okay.

"Initially, I was having a lot of weird hallucination type sensations where I chalked it up to the experience."

[laughs]

"Later turn, l- later turned out I had 103 degree fever [laughs] and somewhat fell asleep. I woke up to an awful odor-

Oh, no

... and demanded to be let out of the tank, and it turned out I had you know what in it. [fart] This alone was a traumatizing experience-

[laughs]

... but now the facility is trying to charge me $8,000 to replace the tank, as they do not feel they can safely disinfect it. I don't recall signing anything with some sort of diarrhea clause. Am I actually liable here?" [laughs]

Wow.

Well, you know how [laughs] when you go swimming in a hotel pool, they always have you, please do not have diarrhea within the last 14 days.

Yeah, exactly. [laughs]

[laughs]

This is a great question for the advocates injury attorneys too. Like if, "I got into a sen- sensory deprivation tank and caught norovirus. I pooed everywhere."

[laughs]

[laughs]

"I've got mental anguish and my bowels hurt." [laughs]

[laughs]

"What can you guys do to help me out here? They're trying to charge me eight grand." Oh, man. Dude, that would be horrible. I've never been in a sensory, uh, deprivation tank, so I, [laughs] I can't, you know, truly imagine it, but you... I know that they've got what, warm water in them.

You wake up

and that water, it's got a little bit different texture to it.

It would freak me out because you can't see anything in there.

What's floating in here?

Yeah. [laughs]

Aside from me.

Yeah. [laughs]

[laughs]

If something touches me, I full on-

Oh

... I full on jump out.

Oh, poor guy

We should, we should have you do a whole series. You know how Conan O'Brien does, like,

those weird travel remotes? We gotta have you do, like, uh, things you wouldn't normally do. Like Victor Wolf does a sound bath. [laughs]

[laughs]

'Cause I feel like it would be funny if you just laid down with a blindfold on you or something-

Yeah

... and some lady's like, you know, circling the bowl-

[laughs]

... and then you had fake diarrhea come out of you. You're like, "Oh, sorry. [laughs] I thought I had more wipes."

[laughs] Just pack a bag with, you know-

You go around the bowl

... Hershey's chocolate.

[laughs]

Just sneak a bottle of Hershey's, you know, chocolate syrup in with me. Squeeze it out in there.

It's like the movie Bad Grandpa.

[laughs]

"Watch this." And he hits the button, it all comes out the back of his pants.

[upbeat music] Three Days Grace and Break. It's the noon hour of madness and mayhem, and I guess we're already at that point of wrapping things up. Um,

what else we got going on? I mean, we continue on with our, uh, No Beach Beach Bash next week. Make sure to go see Peach's 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Juicite Vapor in Idaho Falls, where you can get five entries next Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, uh, to win our No Beach Beach Bash getaway package, valued at 500 bucks. You know, a lot of that stuff, it'd be great for just

even the 4th of July, really.

Truly, yeah.

I mean, it could be the prize package to attend the Idaho Falls Community Hospital River Fest, presented by ICCU and Riverbend Media Group.

My friends Bryson and Charlotte, they live in that apartment, like, looking over Snake River Landing.

Oh.

So what I might do is I might just park there or have Bryson come pick me up or whatever.

Oh, that's, that's a good idea.

Just spend the night there.

Heck yeah.

Bring my CPAP with me.

Mm-hmm. Oh, don't say CPAP to me. That stupid cord got disconnected again last night. I'm so mad.

Do you need a new one?

I might need a new, uh, hose.

I have a box full of hoses and masks-

Do you?

... 'cause I, I got sent a whole bunch.

Okay. Maybe I'll swing by this evening-

Yeah

... and pick one up. 'Cause it... You know how you got the, there's like a plastic plug that slides into the hose?

Yes. Mine falls off all the time.

Yeah, the plastic piece is sliding out. It isn't the mask disconnecting from the plastic piece.

Oh.

It's that piece that actually slides into the hose.

I, I'm glad you brought this up because I am a little concerned about what I'm doing.

Okay.

'Cause I, I'm waking up and

my nose and my mouth are extremely dry.

Okay.

Do I put water in the basin? No.

That's part of your problem. [laughs]

That's one. But then I go to the bathroom and there's, like, brown marks on my teeth. I'm like, "Am I making myself bleed in the middle of the night?"

[gasps] I have never had that happen to me.

Is it like dried blood that's on my teeth?

That's a weird one. Um, I've been using a CPAP a long time.

I bet we sound like very gross individuals-

Hello

... on the air.

Where it's at

'Cause we talked ... So far we've talked about eating boogers.

Mm-hmm.

We've talked about, uh, having diarrhea in a sleep deprivation tank first.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And now bloody teeth-

Sensory deprivation tank

... after waking up in the morning-

Y-

... using a CPAP.

Yeah, and yeah, we, we sound very healthy.

[laughs] Yes.

We-

Now listen, neither of us had a diarrhea problem in a-

Well, it's, knock-

... isolation tank, if you're just tuning in

... knocking on wood.

[laughs] Yeah, I guess.

Knuckle.

Depending on the day, you're just-

What's the worst place to have diarrhea?

... relaxing.

[farts] Um-

Like a massage table?

That's pretty bad. It's gotta be something you couldn't get out of, like a, in the middle of a meeting. Um-

Hey, you know what? If all of a sudden I just get up and hold my butt and walk out of the promo meeting-

Yeah, I think that-

... uh, uh, people will understand.

Yeah, they'd... We'd be able to get out of the meetings, but-

Peach's poo party's about to start

... you know, uh, Thanksgiving dinner,

Christmas when you're unwrapping presents with the family. [laughs] There, there's, there's some pretty bad places you can suffer an unexpected bout of diarrhea. Um, uh, generally work-related. You're, okay, out on a live remote.

That would not be good.

But then I'd be broadcasting from the toilet.

Yeah, well what if you-

And that would make for great radio.

Okay, but what if you didn't make it in time and you're-

Great radio

... you're in [laughs] the first hour-

I'm in the stall trying to wipe.

[laughs]

It won't stop.

[laughs] Make sure to talk to our-

If the listener has a cork, please.

[laughs] Make sure to talk to our sales guy 'cause I'm gonna be in here a while.

[laughs] And you just hear the sound effect, the [blows raspberry]

Please go find, uh, Daniel and Jacob. [farts] They're out somewhere out there. Oh, I'm having a bad time. Oh.

Oh, I'm playing the latest Sublime album in here. I need to... [laughs]
