What is Manna Monday?

The Team at the Real Health Co. shares a weekly message to help you center yourself and start your week off strong!

Dr. Barrett:

This is the week of all weeks, that the word thanksgiving is resonating in all of our hearts. You know that word thanksgiving or thankfulness can mean a lot of different things. Right? Like, when you think about Thanksgiving, what comes into your heart? Is it is it a family that's been divided and divorced and there's no roots?

Dr. Barrett:

Or is it a big, you know, event where there's generations of family coming together, thirty, forty people celebrating and doing life together? Regardless of of what Thanksgiving looks like, the the the word thankfulness is what we need to focus on because when we are thankful, it helps us reorganize and rewire our brain, what we focus on becomes who we are. If we are thankful in heart, we become thankful in body. And we're thankful in mind, then it lowers stress hormones, it boosts dopamine and serotonin, it softens the nervous system, it pulls us out of survival mode into a posture of abundance and safety. So even if this season isn't something that brings back beautiful memories, I want to challenge you with being thankful for the season and the life that you're living today.

Dr. Barrett:

Find something this week every day to be thankful for. And there's prayer that the in Jewish tradition, that at the end of the day, what they would do is they would ask God in prayer to show them how he intervened in every kind of moment throughout the day. And as you reflect, as you lay your head down at night and reflect on your day, from starting to where you're at in the moment, Ask God to show you how good he was, how faithful he was, and where he inserted himself into your day. And be thankful for the things that are great. Be thankful for the things that are going well.

Dr. Barrett:

Be thankful for your health. Be thankful if you can move your body. Thankful if you have food on your plate. Be thankful if you have a roof over your you know yourself at night. Be thankful if you're in a great relationship or marriage or if you have children.

Dr. Barrett:

There's thankfulness in so many areas if we just get off of our selves from what we don't have and focus on what we do. That thankfulness will root deep and provide us with a sense of gratitude in the season of peace that surpasses all human understanding. I challenge you to think about all the things that you're thankful for. And then when Thanksgiving comes, before you eat a meal, before you sit down, I want to challenge you to start a tradition, if you haven't done it already, where you and every person in your home, or wherever you're at, even if you're not hosting, say one thing that you're thankful for. And you can't repeat, right?

Dr. Barrett:

So the next person can't repeat what the other person said. So what are you thankful for that's unique and different? And, and I guarantee there's a sense of blessing that comes when everyone announces the thankfulness in the season for their life, for why they're alive, and everything good in their life. Be thankful this week. We are truly blessed if we see it.
