Chapter + Verse

What is Chapter + Verse?

A faith-forward podcast for people who love Jesus but also love being honest about how weird and wonderful life can be. Hosts Kerrye and Jill tell stories about the Bible, talk about their faith, and dig into what it looks like to follow God through the ordinary chaos of everyday, imperfect life. Real conversations. Real stories. No pretending to have it all together. Pull up a chair, turn the page, and let's go.

Welcome to Chapter and Verse, where people
come on and tell their real stories,

faith, failure, redemption, and the
occasional, "Lord, what are you doing?"

moment.

Some inspiring, some messy, and some that
probably should have come with a warning

label because through every chapter
of every story, God is still writing.

And He's not afraid of a little chaos.

This is Jill.

And Carrie.

Let's turn the page.

Okay, welcome, and we are here
with our friend Pam Turner.

Pam, we're so excited to have you on.

Thank you.

And why don't you tell us a
little bit about yourself?

Well, my husband and I own Kathy's Flowers
and Gifts, and I'm also a travel agent,

and we have been married for 45 years.

Bravo.

And- That's amazing.

Congratulations ... yeah.

Have six kids, 11
grandkids, so big family.

Yeah.

It's just one girl in those six kids.

One girl.

Yep.

Mm-hmm.

Just one.

Poor Crystal.

Yeah.

She's the oldest.

I was, I was sitting here
thinking like, surely...

I mean, you have more grandkids.

Like, there are girls in the
grandkids, but- Oh, yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah, okay.

I just spit, I just spit
it out of the original.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Just one daughter.

Mm-hmm.

Oh, man.

She's gonna be the one
that takes care of you.

We've talked about that.

That's right.

The girls take care of you.

Yes.

Yes.

I mean, the boys love their mamas, but
the girls take care of you at the end.

Yeah.

She has promised to.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Well, we just ask everybody to share,
like, a chapter in their life and

where God has come through for them
and, W- where do you wanna start?

Yeah.

This is your story, and so- Okay.

Well- ... we're just here to listen.

In February of 2008 I was
working at the hospital as an RN.

Retired my license now, but I was
working there in the nursery, and

a few days before that was when
the tornadoes came through Adkins.

Oh, yeah.

So, killed that family- Yes.

Yes

you know, killed several people up there.

And they had asked us the night
that the tornadoes came through

if we would stay later and go down
to the ER and help out down there.

Yeah.

And so I did that one night and
stayed down there, and so...

And I'd worked an extra day.

We typically would work three 12-hour
shifts, but that week I had worked four.

And so that night I was so tired.

I came home.

Joe was at the shop.

He was working on funeral work for
that family because they had ordered

casket pieces and different pieces.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

You know, as you do.

Yes.

Yeah.

And so he was very busy, so he
was working late, and because he

could get a lot done at night when
there were no phones ringing- Yeah

no customers coming in.

Uh huh.

So he was working late.

And so I had went to bed about 10:00,
10:30, and about 1:00 I woke up to the

sound of glass breaking, and I thought,
"Somebody's trying to break in the house."

And so I jumped up and ran down the hall,
and as I did, I could see this orange

glow, and I thought, "The house is on..."

My fire caught back up.

Mm-hmm.

Because I'd tried to build a fire.

We had an insert in our fireplace.

Yeah.

Tried to build a fire.

My wood was green.

It would never start up.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

So I closed it up and went to
bed, and I thought, "My fire

start back up, started back up."

But I knew I'd closed that insert.

Yeah.

And so when I rounded the corner, I
could see through the windows that

are on the back of the house all the
fire was on the back of the house.

Mm.

Like, our smoke detectors hadn't
even started going off yet.

Oh my gosh, and it was already
that- Yeah ... that inflamed.

So it wasn't your fireplace.

Mm-mm, no, it wasn't- Oh, wow

the fireplace.

And so about the time I ran through
the house, I grabbed the phone.

Of course, it was a landline back then.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

And, um, it was dead because the wiring
ran- Oh ... along the back of the house.

Along the back of the house.

Yeah.

And so, about that time the
windows started breaking right

there, and the smoke- My gosh

started coming in, and the
smoke detectors went off.

And I had Kirk at one end of the
house, and the twins were nine.

They were in the other end of the house.

Oh, goodness.

Goodness gracious.

And so I just stood in the middle and
just yelled and screamed, "Get out!

Get out!

The house is on fire.

The house is on fire."

And they came up very calmly, and
I told Kirk, I said- ... "Get my

purse," because that end of the house
wasn't on fire yet, so I was okay-

Yeah ... sending him back there.

I said, "Get my purse," because
my cell phone's in there.

Mm-hmm.

And so he grabbed my purse, and the
keys to my car were in that, and so we

went out, and as we got out the front
door, Kevin and Kendall- Nine years old,

looked up at me and they said, "Mama,
our dogs and our blankies are in there."

Oh, my.

And I said, "Baby, the house is on fire."

And they said, "Mama, please don't
let our dogs and our blankies burn."

Oh, my goodness.

"Please don't let 'em burn."

These were stuffed animals
and blankets they had.

Oh, I thought it was like-
No ... actual real dogs.

No.

I was like, "Did they forget the puppies?"

No, the real dogs were outside.

Okay.

No, these were stuffed animals
and blankets that they had

had since they were born.

Okay.

They were gifts.

Yum.

You know, like shower gifts.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And so I did what my firefighter
of a dad told us never to do.

Go back in.

Went back in a burning house.

Ah.

I cover...

I remember covering up my nose
with my pajamas, which were...

It was, even though it was February,
were thin summer pajamas 'cause-

Yeah ... you get hot at night.

Oh my goodness.

Well, you get hot at night.

I'd melt in- And also Arkansas
is completely bipolar.

Yes.

And you never know what you're gonna get.

Yes.

Yeah, that's the same.

No.

I, I cannot.

Yeah.

I get so hot at night.

So I took off back in the house,
and that's all I remember.

Really?

And I came out with the
dogs and the blankets.

Now what you have to understand
is that Kevin slept with 25

stuffed animals in his bed.

Oh.

Oh, man.

And so I came out with the right dog
and the right stuffed animal, and my

belief is that an angel met me- Oh.

Yes Yeah ... somewhere in that
house- Yeah ... with that dog,

those dogs and stuffed animals.

Like, "Girl, get out."

Yes.

Yes.

Get out of the house.

I believe that.

You didn't listen to your daddy.

Yeah, you crazy woman.

We gave you all the tools.

Yes.

Get out.

Yes.

So we put them in my car and
backed it out across the street.

I called, we called 911.

Were you in town at this point, or were
you, like, on the outskirts of town?

Yeah, it's off of Marina Road.

Okay, yeah.

So- Okay ... it's kinda out by the lake.

Yeah, okay.

And so we called 911, of course.

Mm-hmm.

And then I called my dad,
because that's what you do.

That's what you do- Yeah ... is call
your dad And he- Yeah ... when I was

growing up, for a while, he was a fireman
before, before God called him- Yeah

to pastor.

And so when I called him, this is
kind of a funny story, he s- I said,

"Daddy, Daddy, my house is on fire.

My house is on fire."

And he goes, "Okay, I'll call
911," click, before I could

say- Oh ... "We've called 911."

So he was asleep, of course.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And he thought that I was my niece.

And I w- he thought- Oh, no

she was trying to wake her daddy
up, but she had called him.

Oh, no.

And so when he called 911, he
gave them my brother's address.

Oh, goodness.

Oh, no.

And so the Russellville Fire
Department thinks that they have

two structure fires in town- Oh.

Oh ... at the same time.

Oh, no.

And so they, they jump in the car,
Mom and Dad, and they run over to

my brother's house, and it's dark.

Yeah, and there's no fire.

No.

About the time fire trucks come roaring
up- And they're knocking on the door

trying to get him awake and feeling of the
doors to see if they're hot or anything.

Uh-huh.

And the firemen are like, "You
want us to bust the door down?"

And Mom's like, "No- No ... let's see
if we can knock on the bedroom window."

And- Yeah ... so they got
them awake and Jimmy was like,

"Daddy, my house is not on fire."

But how odd for them to have this memory
now of being awakened- Yeah ... and

then find out later it was your home.

Yeah, because- Wow ... well, the
fireman said, "Do you have any other..."

He said, "I know it was
Sarah waken Jimmy up."

And he said, the fireman said, "Do
you have any other kids in town?"

And Mom said, "Well, we
have one in Pottsville."

And the fireman said, "We have a
structure fire at 204 North Street."

Ugh.

And they said that's Pam's house."

Can you imagine- Oh ... they're,
then they're like, "Oh, no."

Yeah.

Pro- 'cause probably thought,
"We just took their only-

Mm-hmm ... you know, responders."

Yeah.

And, like, also if his first thought
was, "I need to call 911 for them"- Yeah

now I have wasted all of this time- Yeah.

... bringing the fire department- You
poor dad ... to the wrong house.

Yeah, yeah.

And, "Oh, no, let's go, let's go."

Yeah.

Oh, the panic.

Yeah.

But they had called in.

Pottsville Fire Department came.

Mm-hmm.

You know, several different-
Yeah ... fire departments came.

And so, they came out there and of
course, I didn't know about the mix-up.

Yeah.

And so I'm standing out there, and
the neighbors up the street one of the

brothers was disabled, and they said
he didn't sleep much at night, and so

he was actually awake, and he looked
out his window and saw the flames.

And so he woke his brother up- Oh, man
... and they came down there, and they helped

Kirk get the dogs out of the backyard.

Mm-hmm.

They brought blankets down there
for me because here I am in summer

pajamas in- Oh, gosh ... February.

And then, um, I just kept saying, "I
just knew Mom and Dad would be here."

And about that time, Joe got there
because we, of course, we called him- Yeah

... and he- Yeah ... came rushing home.

And you're like, "I called Dad."

Yeah.

I called- Where, where are y'all?

"Where's my dad?"

Where's Dad?

I said, "I really thought
Dad would be here by now."

And of course- Yeah ... they finally
get there and- Yeah ... I'm barefooted.

Oh, man.

Was it really cold?

It was cold, yeah.

So I have a question-
Gosh ... and this, I don't know.

Did you call your dad first
or your husband first?

I don't remember.

I think we called Joe first.

I feel like I would call my, I feel
like I would call my dad first.

Well, I, I think I'm- Maybe 'cause
he's been in law enforcement ... and

I, and I think maybe Kirk- But I would
not ... Kirk had a cell phone, too,

so Kirk may have called one of them.

He may have called Joe,
and I may have called Dad.

Yeah.

But- I don't know why I've, you know,
and it's nothing against Bobby at all,

but- Yeah ... I just feel like- Well-
... I've done that ... your daddy, yeah.

I've done that.

I've called- I've called
my daddy about everything.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I mean, my dad was- He's my
daddy ... when he was alive,

he was a thousand miles away.

Yeah, so he'd not have
been the answer for me.

You're right, right.

But- Yeah ... yeah.

I know you get help, but-
Yeah ... what can I tell you?

Hey.

I just wanna let you know.

But anyway, I'm sorry.

No, that's okay.

So it was really cold and- So it was cold.

So when Mom and Dad finally got there,
of course, I'm barefooted And Mom

said, "Dad has some boots in his Jeep."

So she got his boots, his hunting boots
out of his Jeep, and I put those on.

Wow.

I looked like Granny Clampett- ... from
the- You know ... Beverly Hillbillies.

So about what time is
this at this point now?

It's between 2:00, 2:30,
something like that.

Okay.

And they brought out, you know, the
big ladder trucks and shot fire, you

know, the water up- Yeah ... on that,
because by this time it was in the attic.

Mm-hmm.

Because that house out there was, the
siding on it was that cedar shake siding.

Yes.

Yes.

It was popular in the-
Yep ... '70s when it was built.

Mm-hmm.

And so it went up like a-
Like a torch ... haystack.

Yeah.

Oh, yeah.

And they ask me, "Is
there anything in there?"

And I said, "My pictures."

That's what- And I said-

everybody thinks, or every
woman thinks of, I know.

Yeah.

Like ... I said, "All of my pictures
are right there in the front dining

room," because I scrapbooked, and
so they were all in one place.

Yes.

You are so good at that.

Thank you.

And I said, "They're all in
big, like Rubbermaid totes or-

N- well, they were in these-

baskets ... containers that
Joe had brought me home.

Oh, okay.

These- Yeah.

Yes ... big containers.

And I said, "They're all right there."

And so they were able to save one of them
and brought it outside, and it was the one

that had the lesser amount of pictures.

Oh.

Sure.

The other one, the Sheetrock
and the ceiling got wet

and fell down on top of it.

Man.

Actually protected it.

Really?

It's a God thing.

Really?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Nice.

Look how God did that.

So I told them, I said, "I can
replace everything that's in that

house, but I cannot make my kids
go back and be babies again."

Yeah.

And so the next day, after this
was all over, we went to Mom and

Dad's that night, and after, the
next day, after we slept for...

You know, who could
sleep, but- Yeah, right.

Right ... we rested for a little bit.

Yep.

Joe had to go to Walmart and buy me
clothes, everything- Yeah ... because

I had on summer pajamas and-
Yeah ... my dad's hunting boots.

And it's February.

And it's February.

Yeah.

So went out to the insurance
company, talked to them, then

went out to the house, and Joe and
Crystal were out there, and he said,

"Crystal, don't let Mom in here.

I don't want her to see that
her pictures are ruined."

Yeah.

And so we kept digging, though.

They kept digging, and they would bring
me stuff to the door to keep me outside,

and they were finding some pictures.

Yeah.

And actually, we found out that the
Sheetrock, when it got wet, it protected

those pictures, because you can
wash pictures as long as they're- Oh

professionally developed.

Okay.

I did not know that.

I didn't either.

I didn't either.

Um, but we found that out, and we
washed pictures for a couple of months.

Hmm.

Um, we were- How about that?

... at Mom and Dad's, and we would wash
them, and then we would hang them out on

her little line that's out by the- Yeah

swimming pool if it was pretty.

Yeah.

If not, we had lines in the
garage, and we would- Yep ... hang

them there and let them dry.

Wow.

But yeah, you can wash them.

I had no idea.

So did you have to like...

Were they in books that you just
redid or did you just- A lot of

them were loose, and they were
in those boxes from Hobby Lobby.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

In the little wax boxes.

Yes.

So they were in those And so- That's
good ... yeah, we, I have pictures of

all of my kids when they were babies.

Uh-huh.

And that was important to me.

That's so awesome.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So we- Yeah ... the fire people came
out to find the origin of the fire,

and he found that it was outside.

So it was an, there was an electrical
outlet outside by the back door, and

instead of, when it got hot, instead
of tripping the breaker, it caught

on fire, and so it was electrical.

So it was just like a malfunction?

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Wow.

Yeah.

I had told Joe- That's- ... many times
when we moved in that house, because

it was kinda like The Money Pit,
if you've ever seen that old movie.

Yes.

Yeah.

Love that movie, with Tom Hanks
and- That movie stresses me out.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But you also, you like
The Avengers and stuff.

I do.

And all I can think about in the
big fight scenes and all the things

is- Who's gonna clean it up ... my
gosh, who's gonna clean this up?

Yeah, yeah.

And how much money is it gonna
take to replace all of this?

And these poor people are
just walking down life.

Yeah.

And instead now they've got
all this nonsense to clean up.

And when he starts laughing when
the- Yeah ... that tub falls through.

Yes.

I love that scene.

Yeah.

So that's kinda the way that house was.

It looked really nice.

Yeah.

But after we moved in- But yeah.

There was just one thing after another.

Yeah, yeah.

And I w- I used to tell Joe all the time,
"I would love to just bulldoze this house

down and build another one right here."

And, um- Well, you got your wish.

I got my wish.

It happened.

Yeah.

Wow.

It happened.

But, you know- ... I look back
at that now, and, and we had...

There were things going on in our
life, there were things going on in

our marriage that needed to be brought
to light, and that's another story.

But- Different chapter ... yes,
a different chapter.

But the fire kinda brought
all of that out, you know.

'Cause it purifies.

And sometimes it ta- Yes, that's
exactly what I was gonna say.

A pur- fire purifies.

Yeah.

And so by that afternoon, you
know, Kevin and Kendall were nine.

All they know is they lost everything but
their dog and their blanket, you know?

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

But by that afternoon, they had clothes.

Mm.

The people just showed
up and brought them.

Gosh.

They had Legos, more Legos
than they had before.

Um, one of my daughter-in-laws,
her mother-in-law came and got

them and took them to Walmart
and said, "Whatever you want."

Oh.

Wow.

And they came back with those little
handheld DS games or something- Yeah.

Mm-hmm ... that were, like, $200 or $300.

Oh my goodness.

Yeah.

And I'm like, "Guys."

And she said, "Nope, don't get onto them.

I told them whatever they wanted."

And Junior Auxiliary-
Yeah ... shout out to them.

They were so good to us.

They brought them backpacks full
of school supplies and everything.

Wow.

Wow.

They had everything they needed.

And there was so many things
because, like, the glass that I heard

breaking that woke me up- Mm-hmm

we never found where that glass
broke, because the windows

didn't- That was the angel.

Yes.

Uh-huh.

The windows didn't break until
after I had ran through the house.

And so that glass breaking- That's God
... we never found out where that glass was.

Yeah.

Um, so there were so many things in
the fire that you can look back at

and just see God working through that.

And I would go up to the hospital,
and they would just hand me envelopes

full of money that people had given.

Wow.

You know, we worked with students- Mm-hmm
... that would come through tech, and the

students took up money and gave to me-
Oh my goodness ... um, to replace stuff.

And our insurance was great.

Really?

Really?

Not one problem.

That's awesome.

Never had a- everybody told us-
Yeah ... "Get ready to fight

with your insurance company."

Never had a problem.

Do you wanna share which company that was?

Allstate.

Ah, yes.

Still with them.

Yes.

That's who I have, yeah.

Yep, still with them today.

Um, yeah- So this- ... they
were, they were so good

this chapter and verse
sponsored by Allstate.

Yeah.

Sponsored but not sponsored.

If you want to sponsor us-
Yeah ... shout out Allstate.

Exactly.

We're totally willing.

That's good.

Yeah.

But we just- we got to rebuild the
house right back there where it was.

Wow.

Did you change things- We did
change the floor plan a little bit.

That floor plan had us in one end
of the house and, like, the little

boys in the other end of the house-
Mm-hmm ... and I did not want that again.

Yeah.

Um, but- Well, yeah, especially
after living through something-

Yeah ... traumatic and scary and- Yeah.

But we did- Yeah ... end up doing
that because one of my doctors

that I worked with, he said, "You
can't have two house fires in a

lifetime when your kids are little."

Statistically impossible.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So, um- Yeah, that's when
you'd start to like, yeah.

Did you ever- Yeah.

Did you find yourself, like,
worried about it, or was that

never a concern of yours again?

I didn't really worry about it.

Like I said, the old house had lots
of problems, and one night, the

boys would always get scar- scared
when it stormed in the old house

because the windows were really thin.

Mm-hmm.

And so they would rattle.

And so one night it was storming,
and they were not running in my

room, and so I went back to their
room, and they were just playing.

And I said, "Y'all okay?"

And they said, "Yeah, we
feel safe in this house."

Aw.

And so that made me feel better too.

And you're like, "That's all I need."

Yes.

Yep.

Yes.

Yeah.

But you know, I told Joe one night,
we were walking through the house,

and I said, "We've never had this much
new stuff at once in our lifetime."

Yeah.

It was kinda nice.

Yeah.

But- Mm ... you know, our...

it was just a...

It was a hard time to go through,
but I look back now, and I

would do it all over again.

Yeah.

To- That's what I was gonna ask.

Would you trade anything
for that experience?

Yeah, no, because it taught me so
much and just brought me so far.

I was to the point in my walk
with God that I was getting cold.

Mm-hmm.

And I needed to be brought back.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And that brought me back, and I, I
will not allow that to happen again.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Because I was...

I wasn't, you know, going out
and sinning or anything- Oh,

yeah ... but I still wasn't doing
the things that I needed to do.

for myself- Yeah ... in, in serving God.

Yeah.

I was not serving him like I should be.

Yeah.

And I won't, I won't regret that at all.

Yeah.

Mm.

And, you know, God does allow us to
go through those things, and we've

talked about it on this- Mm-hmm

not in depth before about Job and- Mm-hmm.

Yeah ... how, you know, Job
was a good, righteous person.

Right.

But God allowed him to go through
a whole- Yeah ... lot of stuff.

But, you know, Job learned a lot, too.

Yes.

He did.

And was closer to God and-
Yeah ... had blessings after.

Yeah.

So.

There were so many blessings
that came out of the fire.

It's just, it was really eye-opening
to see that even though I wasn't where

I needed to be with God- He still took
care of you ... he still took care of me.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know?

Of course, all of our Bibles, all of
that, you know, all of that burned.

Mm-hmm.

So, but like the next Sunday, the church
gave us all new Bibles, and- Where

were you going to church at the time?

Um, we were going to my dad's
church, so Harvest Time.

Oh.

Now Gateway.

Yeah.

Out on Finley Curve.

Yeah.

So that's where we were going.

Um, but like Crystal and Scotty
had moved to Bethel Assembly.

Mm-hmm.

And they gave us money.

Uh, there was so many people that
just- Yeah ... gave us money.

People would give us gift cards and,
like Walmart gift cards, you know?

Mm-hmm.

And I saved them all because I knew
that when we rebuilt and we restocked-

Yeah ... you gotta buy salt and
pepper- Right ... and sugar- All

the seasonings ... and flour and...

Yeah.

That's true.

And all the stuff you don't think of.

And so I saved them.

All the medicine.

Yes.

Yeah.

Oy.

Somebody had told us when we were
working with insurance and all, somebody

told us, "Get you a notebook and walk
through Walmart, and just walk down every

aisle and write down, make you a list
of what you had and how much it cost."

Yeah.

And that was, so that was very
valuable because we did that.

Yeah.

They did come up to us in Walmart, you
know, to kinda see what we were doing.

It's like, "Excuse me,
what are you doing?"

Yeah.

Really?

Yeah.

Are you casing the joint out?

Yeah.

Yeah.

That's funny.

Wow.

But when I told them,
they were fine with it.

Yeah.

You know, but it's not often you
see someone walking through Walmart

with a notebook writing down things.

Yeah.

What are they doing?

But yeah.

Um- Are you planning to hit us later?

Uh-huh.

Yeah.

What's, what's going on?

Yeah.

'Cause you know when I- But we
had- ... when I rob Walmart,

it's the salt I'm going for.

Exactly.

We had...

When we got ready to check
out, we had three carts.

It was Crystal, Stephanie,
and I, and we had three carts

that were just mounded over.

Wow.

And we had a, um, trash can that
Crystal was dragging behind her.

And so this kid- You could just see
it ... it was right before Thanksgiving.

Yeah.

And so one of the employees came by,
and he was like- What are y'all doing?

Y'all are gonna have a good Thanksgiving.

And so we told him.

Yeah.

And so when they called for help
to help us out to the car, because

you know it never goes back in
the cart the way it comes out.

Oh, never, ever.

Correct.

Yeah.

And so they called for help, and he
came up there and he said, "I just

knew this was y'all and I had to
come up here and see all of this."

And he handed Crystal his
employee card and said, "If

anybody asks, we're cousins."

And he said, "Scan that."

Oh.

And so I will...

I don't remember his name, but
I wouldn't divulge it if I did.

Yeah.

That is so...

I mean, you know, God- No, that's
precious ... God just- Yeah ... takes care

of you- Yeah ... in such surprising ways.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

And you know, we've talked a lot about
on the podcast about how important

it is to have a- Mm-hmm ... a
church family or just- Yeah.

Community.

Yes Yeah.

Around you.

And- Yeah ... y'all have been, you
know, generous and sown seeds into

people, and look how it came back.

Yeah.

You know?

Oh, yeah.

Yeah.

It has come back hundredfold or more.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

All, all my gift cards that I had
saved paid for our Walmart purchases.

Really?

Yeah.

Wow.

So the couple of the ladies that Joe
worked with, you know, at the flower

shop, a couple of his good customers
said, "Okay, we want to give y'all a

town shower, and so we want you to go to,
like, Melins and different places- Wow

and register."

That's, that's a very neat idea.

It was.

Mm.

But it was very awkward
to go in these places.

Daunting and, yeah.

There you go.

At our age and register-
Mm-hmm ... for gifts.

I can see that.

Yeah.

I can see that.

But it was...

I mean, they just...

We got so much there.

People just really gave back.

It was- Yeah.

It was so good.

And we lived with my mom and dad
'cause they have a two-story house.

Yeah, I was- While you're building ... I
was gonna ask, like, where you- Mm-hmm

... how you did that while you were building.

Yeah.

We lived with them.

They had two bedrooms up on one side
of their house, and then Mom had a

bonus room over the garage that had,
like, her sewing machine and stuff.

Mm-hmm.

So we set Kevin and
Kendall up in that room.

And this happened in February,
and Kyle got married in May,

so he wasn't there that long.

Okay.

Um, and then Kevin and Kendall and Joe
and I were on the other side of the house.

Wow.

So.

How long did you live with them?

Um, we lived with them from
February when it happened until

right around Thanksgiving.

That's not bad.

So, yeah.

That's not a bad timeline-
No ... to get everything cleaned

up- Mm-hmm ... bulldozed off,
moved- Yeah ... and then built.

Yeah.

That's- And I went out there the
day they- Right ... bulldozed it

and watched them bulldoze it down.

Wow.

How was that?

It was, it was...

A little bittersweet?

Yeah, yeah.

Mm-hmm.

On one hand, I was like, "Yes."

That's what you wanted.

On the other hand You're
like, "I've wanted this."

On the other hand, I'm
like, "Oh, that's my home."

Yeah.

That's my house.

Yeah.

That's where- Yeah.

That's where my kids grew up.

Mm-hmm.

It's all the things.

Yeah.

How did the boys feel,
like, all th- the...

You had three living with
you at the time, right?

Or four.

I actually had four living at home.

Kyle was actually gone to
Stephanie's, his fiancée's.

They were studying for tests
'cause they were both at Tech.

And so they were studying
for tests late that night.

And so Kirk and Kevin and Kendall
were home with me when it happened.

Did they talk about...

I know boys are different and they
don't talk about their feelings, but-

They didn't talk a whole lot about it.

Um, I did take them to see a counselor
just because- That's good ... I

thought that they needed that.

Yeah.

And so- Better to give them the
opportunity- Yes ... and have them be

like, "Mom, this, I, this is silly.

I don't need this."

Yeah.

Than to think they'll be fine, they'll
ask if they need it- Right ... and

have it really be something that
they could have benefited from.

Right.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So we did that just because I wanted
them to- Yeah ... if they needed

that, then that's what they needed.

So did, is this the house that,
like, Crystal grew up in or no?

We had moved there when the
twins ... right after they were born.

Okay.

And so Crystal was 15, so she
didn't grow up in that house.

Um, she grew up, most of her s-
younger years were in Fort Smith.

So did she have, like, any sad attachment
or was she just like, "Okay, what's

happening" No, she had lived there
for, you know, until she got married.

Um, and she was actually married when
it happened, and we called her too.

Yeah.

And she said she got up and started
getting dressed, and Scotty got up

and started getting dressed and she...

Well, first she said, "Well, Mom
and Dad's house is burning down."

And he said, "Are you
gonna go over there?"

And she was like, "Oh, yeah."

So she started getting dressed.

And he started getting dressed and she
was like, "Wait a minute, somebody's

gotta stay here with the babies."

Yeah.

Yeah.

So- Like, we're not dragging
these kids out- Yeah

in the middle of the night and it's cold.

Yeah.

So she came over too, so-
Yeah ... all the kids came in.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But- So what do you think some, I mean,
I'm sure your dad had a lot of like,

not just fatherly advice, but like
spiritual advice during that whole time.

Is there anything that you could
share with others, like, about God?

I mean, 'cause you know, yes, he,
you could see now on the other side-

Right ... how he led you this whole thing.

Right.

But in the middle of it, even
while you're still in the middle

of it, you're like, "I don't...

Does he see me?"

Yeah.

You know, "Did he know this?"

Of course he got y'all out, but like-
Yeah ... why did this happen now?

Right.

And- That was one thing, you
know, that I was, I was so

thankful that we all got out.

Yeah.

You know?

Yeah.

Because there's so many house fires
that people don't all get out of.

Right.

And I was just so thankful
that we all got out, you know.

And, and so that was a big answer to
prayer that we all got out safely.

And there were some times that I
questioned it, but, you know, we've...

Dad always taught us
things happen for a reason.

Mm-hmm.

And God allows things to
happen sometimes for a reason.

And you may not see that
right now, but keep the faith.

You know, keep walking.

Keep- Yeah ... keep your happy face on.

You know, you can be sad at times,
but still- You know, don't get down.

Don't let it get you down.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, because that's when Satan
can move in and really start

playing mind games with you.

Yes.

Yeah.

And he's so good at that.

Yes.

Yes, he is.

Yeah.

And, you know, like, the first day
that I went back to the hospital,

one of my doctors asked me, he said,
"Do you need some sleeping pills?"

And I was like, "I really don't think
I do because I didn't sleep at all last

night, and so I think I'll sleep tonight."

Yeah.

And that night when I laid down,
all I could think of was, what if?

Mm.

What if we hadn't all got out alive?

What if I hadn't woke up?

Yeah.

And I was awake all night.

So the next day, I called him and
said, "Okay, I'm waving a white flag."

You're like- Something might be
sleeping ... you might have known

what you were talking about.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And so they were, they were just so good
f- to me and- Yeah ... one day I walked

in the nursery and they handed me a card,
and they said, "This money is for you.

Don't spend it on your kids.

Don't spend it on the house.

Don't spend it on Joe.

This is for you because we know you."

Yeah.

"And you will do for everybody else.

This is for you."

Yeah.

'Cause you're a good mom,
and that's what moms do.

And did you spend it on you?

Yes.

Okay, good.

I did.

Like, 'cause I, I feel like I, I know,
if not you very well, I know people

with that kind of personality- Yeah

mentality, and they'd be like,
"Yes, okay," with the full

intention of being obedient-
Yeah ... and doing it for yourself.

I did because- But then also being
like, "Okay, but this- Yeah ... needs

to happen, and this needs to happen."

Right.

And the next thing you know, it's gone.

But I mean, I had to have everything, so.

That's true, yeah.

I did.

You also needed everything.

Yeah, yeah.

So, yeah.

Yeah.

I'm glad they did that.

That was nice.

Yeah.

It was.

And you know, things that had
not actually burned in the fire

had gotten so smoke damaged.

Oh, yeah.

We had, like, all of our Christmas
ornaments were in the closet

in the little boys' rooms.

You didn't think about that.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

And we had all the ornaments
that the kids make at school-

Yes ... when they're growing up.

Mm-hmm.

And they were in tubs in there.

And oh, I have to tell you a funny story.

Remind me about it.

So-

Anyway, we got those out and, of
course, they smelled like smoke.

Yeah.

But we couldn't turn 'em...

We couldn't throw 'em away-
Yeah ... 'cause they had too

much sentimental meaning.

Yeah.

And so we just kept them in a
box, and a few years later, Joe

went out to the garage and opened
it up, and they didn't smell.

They...

Oh, good.

Good.

They didn't smell.

That's like- That's
amazing ... kind of a miracle.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So my funny story is in December, you
know, the Christmas before, Joe's gonna...

Sorry, Joe.

Sorry, honey.

It's okay.

He bought me, for Christmas,
he bought me- Like a vacuum?

No.

Okay.

A freezer.

Oh.

Oh.

Did you want that?

No.

And a bag full of meat from Walmart.

A bag full of meat?

Let me just- Yes ... what, what
did men, what do they think?

I don't know, because he's a pretty
good gift giver most of the time.

I mean, I would think he is.

He's...

Yeah.

Yeah.

He's got style and- Yeah.

Yeah ... like he's...

Yeah.

Yeah, a freezer and a bag of meat.

God bless him.

So.

Did you ever say, "What?

Why?"

I, uh, mm-hmm, yeah.

I was like I think he
knew I was not real happy.

Oh.

Well, especially when they came to
deliver the freezer, because the guy

said, "I've got your used freezer here."

Ugh.

A used freezer.

And I'm like, "Really?

You bought me-" You got
me a- "... a used...

Not only a freezer-" You
got me a used freezer

but a used freezer."

Yeah.

The story was it had, a lady had
taken it to her house and it wouldn't

work, so they brought it back.

They fixed it.

So it wasn't that used- It
was technically, yeah ... but

technically it was used.

Yeah.

Refurbished.

But anyway, so when the fire, it burnt up.

Oh, what a shame.

Did y'all get another freezer?

We do have another freezer, yes.

But it wasn't a gift.

That's right.

It wasn't a Christmas gift.

Oh.

Man.

Yeah.

The refrig- I bet he made
up for that later, huh?

Yeah.

Yeah, he did.

The refrigerator, you know, the
front door off of the refrigerator

was completely melted, and
silverware was completely- Oh, man

melted.

Okay.

Gosh.

That reminds me, and this is not a big
story, but something when I heard this

story before, or maybe, maybe I'm thinking
of somebody else, but I thought, did he...

You know, of course he's,
he's great at decorating and

everything, but didn't he...

Did he pay somebody to come
decorate your house or?

No.

He- With the Christmas lights ... when
we rebuilt, he did have one of his

decorator friends come out and give him-
I meant like with lights ... some color.

Oh, with lights?

Like- No.

But it wasn't- I remember this story.

Yes.

And it, yeah.

If you- If you know it, I mean, if
you know what I'm talking about.

Yeah.

Okay, yeah.

The Christmas lights.

Okay, yeah.

Tell it.

Yeah.

'Cause it's funny.

It's great.

So I, I love Christmas
lights- Yeah ... on the house.

But our roof is really steep and
has lots of different levels to it.

Mm-hmm.

And he, he won't get up
there, and I don't blame him.

Yeah.

But- Yeah ... you know, so I've always
wanted Christmas lights on the house, but

it's expensive to get- Oh, yeah, it is

somebody to come and do it.

It is.

Mm-hmm.

And so one night I had been somewhere
and I came home, and he wasn't home

yet, and there's Christmas lights on
the house, and I was like Oh- That's

so sweet ... he really does love me.

Mm-hmm.

He's so sweet.

He put Christmas lights on the house.

Look at how he did this.

And, yes.

Aw.

And so I called him and I said,
"Thank you for the Christmas lights.

I love them."

And he said, "What are you talking about?"

And I said, "All the Christmas
lights on the outside of the

house, they're beautiful."

And he said, "I didn't have Christmas
lights put on the outside of the house."

And I said," I'm standing in our front
yard, and I'm telling you that our,

there are Christmas lights on our house."

And the light company, our, in our little,
it's not really a cul-de-sac, but it's a

circle- Yeah ... down in where we live.

Mm-hmm.

And there's a 204 North Shore, which
is ours, and there's a 204 East Shore.

They were supposed to go to East Shore.

Oh, man.

Whoops.

And they put them on North Shore.

Oh.

But he let them, he let them stay.

Of course he did.

Yeah.

That's just funny.

I don't know why that popped in my head-
Yeah ... because I was thinking about

gifts, and that would've been a really
... He would, I would've taken credit for it.

Oh, yeah.

I'd been like, "You are so welcome."

Yeah.

Then I would've called him and
been like, "What are you doing?"

You know.

Right.

Yeah.

But there was, like, there was no
sign or any sign- Yeah ... thing

saying who had done it.

There's just- Oh my goodness ... all
these beautiful Christmas

lights strung up on the house.

That's hilarious.

Yeah.

That is so hilarious.

Oh.

How do you even figure out that...

You know what I mean?

Like, and then can you imagine the
poor people at 204 East Shore- Yeah

who come home and they're
like, "I thought we were-"

Yeah ... "getting lights put up."

Yeah.

They said they would be
here today- There's nothing

there ... and put our lights on.

Oh, man.

Oh, all that work.

Yeah.

Like all that work.

Yeah.

Okay.

Well, for other, you know, moms, do you
have any advice for moms with, like,

adult children and young children and
just any kind of children, you know?

Um, what kept you going, like
any kind of spiritual foundation

or what it would you go back to?

Is there any scripture you
really love, like that you, that

your mind goes to constantly?

Because you are, you know, you
have six kids, many grandkids.

Mm-hmm.

You know, you've probably seen every
kind of situation that families

go through with kids and- Yeah

when they get married and
have babies of their own.

And you're, you, you know, I've, I've
said it, not maybe on this podcast, but

you know, when you are not in control
because they're adults, it's hard.

Yeah.

Because you feel- It is hard ... like
you should be in control.

Yeah.

'Cause that's your child.

Right.

Always.

Yeah.

But what would you say to moms who are in,
you know, like our situation where we're,

we have adult children and we're like, um,
having to let go of these types of things?

It is, it's hard to let go of them.

It is.

Um, but the thing that I
usually tell people is that you

raised them to be independent.

Mm-hmm.

And a lot of times you just
have to pray for them and

trust God to take care of them.

Yeah.

Um, because you raised them
To, to not live with you all

their life- Yeah ... you know?

Right.

I- ideally.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Right?

And, you know, I grew up, when
I was growing up, when I was

little, my dad was a fireman.

Mm-hmm.

And he liked about, I think it was a
seven to 10 years in, he could have

retired when God called him to pastor.

And so for most of my life growing up, the
years that I remember, he was a pastor.

Mm-hmm.

And so growing up on that Christian
foundation, you know, and there

were so many times, because
he didn't pastor big churches.

Right.

He pastored smaller churches.

Mm-hmm.

And so, so many times we
just had to trust God.

And so we learned to trust
God in every situation.

And so, you know, when my kids are
gone and they're doing things that

I don't really think that they
should- Yeah ... you know, I try

to not preach at them too much.

Every once in a while I'll tell them,
"Okay, I'm about to preach to you."

Mm-hmm.

"Tell you this."

But most of the time I just really
try to pray for them and, you know,

ask God to put people in their lives
that can influence them where maybe

I can't because I'm mama, you know?

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

You're just mom.

Yeah.

Don't we know that part.

Yeah.

Yes.

Because I mean, really that's, you
know, when you're close to someone,

they take things differently- Mm-hmm
... from, I mean- Yeah ... we all know.

Yeah.

People can say one thing to you
and you're like, "Yeah, yeah."

Yeah.

And then but if somebody else,
"Oh, yeah, that makes sense."

You know?

Yeah.

There are literal moments where Carrie
and I will call each other and be like,

"Hey, listen, I need you to say this."

Yeah.

Yeah.

Do you think you could
find a way to fit this in?

Yeah.

'Cause they'll listen to you,
but they won't listen to me.

I have done that before.

Yeah.

But yeah.

It's, it's hard to let them go, though.

You wanna...

You know, I would love it if all of my
kids lived right here close to me, but

I would never take those experiences
that they're having- Mm-hmm ... in

their life back from them, you know?

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

One of them travels quite a bit
in the summer especially, and I

would never take that from them.

Yeah.

And every once in a while they
let us meet them where they're

at and travel with them.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know, the other one got one in Germany
in the- Mm ... military and I miss them.

I want them here, but I would
never- Yeah ... take that from them.

Right.

That experience that they're having
and- And you'll have eternity together.

Exactly.

So.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yep.

So you just have to keep them covered in
prayer and trust God to take care of them.

Mm-hmm.

Which is not always easy because-
It's not ... as moms we wanna fix it.

Yeah.

When we see that they're having issues,
we want to be the one to fix it.

Or to prevent it.

Yes.

When you see them walking down the
path and you're like, "There's a po-

there's a po- there's a pothole."

Yes.

And they're just, like,
trucking right towards it.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

I'm like, "Oh, okay."

Yeah.

And then, "Oh, look, you fell."

Yeah.

Yeah.

Like, I've been yelling,
"There's a pothole."

Right.

"You won't learn anything."

Right.

But yeah.

Yeah.

And I do think that prayers over-
Anyone- Yeah ... are eternal.

Mm-hmm.

Even if it doesn't meet it, meet
the need right then or- Right

you know, God doesn't answer right then.

You know, it says in the
Bible, he stores them up.

Yeah.

I love this.

And, you know, like I was reading
in Revelation, it said where, you

know, an angel picked up the vial
and hurled it back to the earth.

Yeah.

Like, it's with purpose.

It goes where it should.

Mm-hmm.

It's timeless.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know, I could pray now for a
future- Yeah ... child, you know,

grandchild, great-grandchild-
Right ... whatever, and it's stored.

Right.

You know?

Yeah.

And who knows what our grandparents
and great-grandparents prayed

over- Yes ... our family.

Right.

Yep.

That covers us now- Yeah ... in
a moment, in a fire.

Yeah.

You know?

And I think about all the
prayers that I've prayed.

That's gotta be a big storage.

Yeah.

Yes.

Yes.

It's gotta be like a Mary Poppins bag.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's just like endless.

Never ending.

Yep.

Yeah.

And when I was thinking about
yesterday, I can't remember what

verse it says this in, but about
Jesus being our intercessor- Mm-hmm

with us.

Yes.

What a great pair, partner to have.

Right.

Right.

Yeah.

And he knows exactly how- Yes ... to pray.

So- Yes ... we got it.

We got it.

Yeah.

And God's promises are yes and amen.

Yes.

And sometimes we just have to
let go and know that he's got it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's, it's easy to hang on to stuff.

Yeah.

And- Or to just pick it back up.

Or just to try to control it.

That's right.

Even- Yeah ... even Mary's mom did,
or even Jesus' mom, Mary, did that.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Like, um, they need some wine here.

They need wine.

Get on it.

Yeah.

And then she's like, "Whatever
he tells you to do, do."

Yeah.

Yeah.

You know, which I still think was a
little controlling, but she's a mom.

Yeah.

So I get it.

Yeah.

I get it.

I got you, Mary.

I understand.

Well, also what a vote of confidence.

Like, she knew, like, "Hey-
Mm-hmm ... he'll, he'll do it."

Yeah.

His mama asked him to.

Yeah.

He'll do it.

Yeah.

Maybe he was like, "It's not time yet."

And she's like, "Honey, listen."

Yeah.

"They are out of the wine."

I need you to do that.

Sometimes even you need a
little push from your mom.

That's right.

Yeah.

That's right.

But yeah.

Okay, we always ask, you can ask the
question, I feel like I've asked it the

past few times, our question at the end.

So we always ask at the end of every
little visit that we have with people,

if you could go back in t- She knows.

She's probably listened to it.

Just a regular one?

I mean, okay.

I have listened.

Okay.

She does.

So if you could go back in time to any
biblical event and just be, like, fly

on the wall watching not necessarily
participating in, you know- Yeah ... not

like Marcus, but what would it be?

We'll forget Marcus then.

It would probably be Esther.

Okay.

Um, because I love that, you know,
he told her, "Who knows that you have

been put here for such a time as this."

Yeah.

Yeah.

And even through the fire, you
know, a lot of times you ask me

for a favorite verse, but a lot
of times I would think about that.

Maybe I've been put here for such- Yes

a time as this- Yeah.

Yeah ... to help somebody else.

Yeah.

You know, if I, if I hear of
somebody's house that has burned

down, I usually will get in touch with
somebody that I know knows them and

say if they can save any pictures,
I will show them how to wash them.

Yeah.

Because it's something
that's important to me.

Yeah.

And most mamas, pictures
are important to them.

Yeah.

I know nowadays it's all on your phone,
but print- Yes ... your pictures.

Yes.

Yeah.

Put them up.

Put them out.

Print them.

Yes.

I have- Yeah ... boxes of pictures Yeah.

Yeah.

That my kids will have to
go through when I'm gone.

And they'll like it.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

And I've told them, "Y'all better go
through every picture because there's

money in them, inside of them."

That's funny.

That's a good ... That's
a good thing to do.

That is very funny.

Yeah.

Go through every single thing I have.

It's gonna make them go
through all the pictures.

Oh, yeah.

They're just keeping pennies on the back.

Mm-hmm.

Hey, pennies may be worth something.

Pennies are good.

Exactly.

Yeah.

They don't make them anymore.

That's right.

So.

I like that.

And you don't know who's listening
to this podcast when it's released.

Yeah.

You may not know the person who's
listening, and they've just went

through something- Yeah ... like this.

Mm-hmm.

Losing a house or whatever, and they
will- Yeah ... find a lot of comfort in-

Yeah ... in your wisdom and, you know.

Yeah.

And most of ... You just have to trust
God that he's, he's gonna come through.

He always does.

Yes.

He's never failed us.

Yeah.

He's always faithful.

Yeah.

And it may look bleak right now, but on
the other side, it's gonna be sunshine.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

That's so good.

There's a, there's a small club of
people that have endured a house fire,

you know, and just a devastating loss
like that, but there's a, there's

such a big club of people who have
seen God's hand through- Mm-hmm

all kinds of things.

Right.

I just ... It just makes me happy-
Yeah ... to think about, like, no matter

how isolated you can feel in your moment
of need and trial, there's so many

people who have been through similar
things- Right ... or completely different

things, but can testify to, to God being
there and pointing the way, and- Yeah

can help you through all
of yours, and I love it.

Yeah.

I don't know what people do without God.

Me either.

I don't either.

I don't either.

Struggle.

Yeah.

That's all they do is struggle.

It ... Well, and like I said, before
the house fire, you know, I had moved

away from where- Mm-hmm ... I needed
to be, and I was struggling- Yeah

in lots of different areas.

Did you ... Were you, like, aware at that
time that you had, had kind of fallen

or, like, that you were getting cooler?

I usually tell people that I
let Satan rock me to sleep.

Mm-hmm.

I thought I was okay, and he
was just rocking me to sleep.

That's a really good expression.

That is a very good-
Telling me, "You're okay."

For sure.

Mm-hmm.

"Okay."

He was rocking me like you do a
baby, and you go, "You're okay."

Yeah.

And I wasn't okay.

Yeah.

I wasn't, and I knew it.

So you, you knew- Oh,
yeah ... pre-fire, like- Yeah.

I'd been- ... "I'm, I'm complacent."

Yeah.

Essentially.

Yeah.

Okay.

So it wasn't like a a wake up moment
after the fire where you're like, "Whoa."

It was a wake up moment in that
I thought, "I cannot do this."

Gotcha.

I cannot keep living like this.

Okay.

Because I'm letting Satan in places, in
my family, in my home, in my marriage.

I'm allowing him as he rocks me to
sleep, he's moving into those areas in

my life, and he's gonna destroy me if
I don't get where I need to be- Yeah

and get things straightened out.

Yeah.

So it, it was a wake up call.

I mean, I knew that I
needed to be doing better.

Yeah.

But that was a wake up call and
said- You can do it now ... you

better get yourself straightened out.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Do it now.

Okay.

That's, I mean, I like it when God
does it in a, in a miraculous way too.

Way.

Even the...

I'm gonna think about that angel a
lot, like waking you up- Yeah ... and

then giving you- And then giving
you the- Yes ... purposes.

I mean, even though you don't, you didn't
see it, but- Right ... that had to be.

Yeah.

It had to be.

And also, maybe you did see it, and
that's why you can't remember anything.

Yeah, that's true.

That's true.

Because if, I would've- Because
there's too much for your brain to-

Right ... comprehend at that point.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Because I would...

We were at the front door.

I would've had to run through the living
room, through the kitchen where the

fire mostly was, down in their room.

Gosh.

Find their dogs and blankets on each bed.

Yeah.

'Cause they slept on separate sides
of the room, and then run back

through the house was burning, where
it was burning and out to them.

So.

There's no way.

There's no way.

That, that, it was not a miracle.

No, it was a miracle.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I love it.

Wow.

I love when it's like
there's just no other option.

Yeah.

You know?

Like we're- Yeah.

What do you say?

What other thing could there be
other than just divine intervention.

Someday- Yeah ... that memory
is going to be- Yeah ... crystal

clear- Yeah ... to you.

Ooh, yeah.

I hope it's before we go to heaven,
'cause I wanna hear about it.

I mean, we'll hear about it
in heaven, but- Yeah, yeah

I wanna hear, like, I don't know,
if in a dream it'll be revealed.

I don't know.

Yeah.

I'd love to hear about
it when it happens, so.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Okay.

Yeah, for sure.

But- Yeah ... well, thank
you so much for coming on.

You're welcome.

I enjoyed it.

Oh, well, you can ask her that one.

I don't even know if we asked
it last time, but the...

I'll just ask you.

Yeah.

Um, if you could have any super
power, what would you wanna have?

Like- Oh ... you know,
any kinda superhero power.

You can make up your own too.

Oh, yeah.

Jill made up her own, of course.

I said I wanted to be
invisible, but- Yeah.

Did I say that?

I said that.

Yeah.

I would probably, I think
I would like to fly.

Yeah.

That would be fun.

Like- To get there.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

Yeah, 'cause you love to travel.

I do love to travel.

And if you want to travel- Yeah, I
heard y'all dishing about cruises.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And if you wanna travel, you
need to contact Pam Turner.

Oh, thank you.

She can- For sure ... like
plan it for you and...

Thank you.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

You, you did plan the cruise-
Yeah ... that we went on.

Yeah.

And it was fantastic.

It was.

So, I'm ready to do another cruise.

Yeah, me too.

It was so relaxing and yeah.

We had so much fun.

We did.

Yeah.

They are fun.

I loved it.

Had a good time.

Yeah.

So yeah, that's a good
one- Mm-hmm ... in Flossie.

Mm-hmm.

Well, thank you for coming on.

You're welcome.

We're just, we're so happy that,
that you came on and talked to

us, and we want to have you back-
Okay ... whenever you wanna come.

Okay.

Bye.

Bye.
