Thundernerds are GO!

Speaker 1:

Twenty five hours in the ground at two. What are our thoughts? That's what we're talking about this week, Thunder Nerds. Also, we've had a week off there. There was a lot of news that dropped in the last couple of weeks.

Speaker 1:

We've got to get into that too. So Thunder Nerds, without further ado, let's get cracking lacking into this one. Thunder Nerds are go. Three, two, one. Thunder Nerds are go.

Speaker 1:

Also, we will be getting Lady Penelope briefly on to give her thoughts on what she thought of doctor who, the reality war, the final shooty Gatwa story. Now if you do not wanna listen to the news section, which is quite extensive today, and you're here for grounded two, use the chapter points in the show notes, and you can jump forward to where the ice warrior and I get into grounded too. Without further ado, Thunder Nerds, we are back for another podcast. Had a little bit of difficulty last week when we went to record. Long story short, the dog, he hurt his leg momentarily.

Speaker 1:

Turns out it was just a sprain, we think. So it was alright, but just couldn't get a recording out. It was meant to have Goldfinger retrospective here for this week, but mister Saint John Smite, it's one of the great Bond films. I really want to wait until he is available to discuss that one. So I've held it off.

Speaker 1:

I wasn't able to do it yesterday. All good. Today, we're gonna talk grounded. Now before we do that, there's been a bit of news in the last couple of weeks for film, gaming, all that kind of stuff. So we'll get into that one.

Speaker 1:

Grounded, we will get the ice warrior in for that, but I also think that we need him in there for some of this news as well. So let's do that now. Let's bring in the ice warrior. We'll see how he's doing.

Speaker 2:

Turning for oil in the ice, I throw fire. It's not a mammoth. It's

Speaker 1:

an ice warrior.

Speaker 2:

An ice warrior.

Speaker 1:

Good morning. Good morning, mister ice warrior. And how are you this morning?

Speaker 3:

Good morning. Gonna get over that intro. That is That's

Speaker 1:

one of the great intros

Speaker 3:

of all time. That's not a mammoth.

Speaker 1:

It's a nice one. It's a nice one. Oh, man. There's actually so much freaking news that has and it's just stuff that's appeared in my, like, just my feeds that I've that I've taken some screenshots of within the week and gone,

Speaker 2:

oh my god. Like, I'm gonna have to add that to the podcast, add that to the podcast, add that to the podcast. Just it

Speaker 1:

just doesn't stop. And and I feel like I I took one week off last week and, you know, all of a sudden there's heaps of news that stacks up. Do you know what I mean? Like and and Yeah. Usually when I'm doing this every week, there's not I found that it's been pretty quiet over the last few weeks, but now there's there's news a plenty.

Speaker 1:

So look, think well, firstly, what have you been up to recently? I mean, I I know we've been playing grounded, but outside of that, what's been going on?

Speaker 3:

Well, I've been just recently got a new promotion at work, I'm pretty happy about that.

Speaker 1:

Yes. Bus.

Speaker 2:

You can tell me that.

Speaker 3:

Very good. Bus. That's been pretty fun. Yeah. Obviously, can't speak about it too much.

Speaker 1:

No. Of course. Of course. Hey. What about your your your kind of D and D?

Speaker 1:

What's going on?

Speaker 3:

It's about to get into that too, actually. Yes. So my regular D and D show moved from a Sunday fortnight to a Wednesday weekly show. Still at 08:30PM Australian Eastern Standard Time. Check out Chronicles and Chaos on Twitch.

Speaker 1:

I'll link that. I'll link that. Can you send me the link and I'll put that in the Yeah. In the description? Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Will do. Yeah. No. It's going pretty well. We kind of reduced the group size a little bit, kind of keeping it a little bit more tight knit.

Speaker 3:

Mhmm. Now big things have happened. We're moving into some very unfamiliar territory. We've got some tension in the group. It's

Speaker 1:

Tension? What's do tell. Do tell.

Speaker 3:

Oh, well

Speaker 1:

What's going on?

Speaker 3:

Without delving without delving into it too much, my character has been kind of withholding some information from the rest of the group and is now in a position to be very well, I Are

Speaker 1:

are you a bit

Speaker 3:

I potentially hold them over the barrel. I No. I'm not a Jew. I'm not a Jew.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So you're not you're not gonna betray I'm

Speaker 3:

not being as forthcoming.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Okay. Gotcha.

Speaker 3:

We're all we're all, you know, kind of keeping things from each other, but I'm pretty much being a driving force because we're seeking these golden soul coins in hell, and I'm the only one who knows how to find them, and I'm keeping that from the rest of the group.

Speaker 1:

Are you really so hang on. Hang on. Can I ask a question? Do you and and and for clarity, Dun and Nerds D and D, Dungeons and Dragons, this is the if you don't know about this, you you I'll I'll again, I'll put a link in the bio. Do you wanna just give a high level overview of this just for anyone that might not, you know, know how this works?

Speaker 3:

Tabletop role playing game or a t p TTRPG. You sit down with a group of friends. We all draft out some characters Mhmm. Based on certain prerequisites that we have, certain rules we have to keep to. Gotcha.

Speaker 3:

And you can basically be just anything you want. The there's a dungeon master or game master who oversees the world. He gives you basically a story. Says, I'll you know, you're a group of you're a group of friends traveling down a road. You see a a boar in the middle of the road, you attack the boar, okay, and then you roll dice to do that.

Speaker 3:

And it's basically interactive storytelling. It's very, very fun.

Speaker 1:

Yep. Yeah. It it is really fun. I mean, I've been playing a variant of it, of course, in in Baldur's Gate three. That's a that's a popular one.

Speaker 1:

People will will probably know that's that's kinda like nice one. Exactly like this. Now with D and D, I've I've got a question about it. So you've obviously got a DM, a dungeon master. So is the dungeon master is that the only person who knows the information about your character that you know, or did they not know?

Speaker 3:

It's it's it's one of those things that it it depends on the context of the situation. Every group's gonna be different. There are two there's a terminology called above table Mhmm. Where when we say something is known above table or something is being said above table, it means that it's being said out of character. This is me as an individual person saying it or the players know this, the characters aren't saying this, or the characters don't know this.

Speaker 3:

So above table, everyone knows what I know. Like, everyone knows how I'm able to find these things. Gotcha. Above table Character wise, none of the characters actually know that I have this particular bit or how I have this particular ability. So it's led to some tension.

Speaker 3:

And we due to the way we're traveling through the hells, through the nine layers nine layers of hell at the moment

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Sounds pretty rough.

Speaker 3:

Had these abilities called all these things called soul coins, which are the currency in hell, and they determine how powerful of a devil that you can be. And I just picked up I just transformed, like, last session into this brand new form that I've just taken on. I've just picked up another 6 coins, which is massive. And now, I'm poised to be the most powerful person in the group by far. So it's led to a little bit more tension there.

Speaker 3:

Daddy's help. I'm working with it. Yeah. I'm working with the dungeon master in the background to kind of figure out, you know, what I might wanna do next and how I might wanna shake

Speaker 1:

things up

Speaker 3:

a bit. So

Speaker 1:

it's But for the audience, like, when when when what nights are you doing this? Like, I'll I'll put the link in again for you Thunder Nerds, but what what nights are you doing this in case people wanna tune in and watch this live?

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Wednesday nights. That is Wednesday, 08:30 Australian Eastern Standard Time. That'll probably end up being 08:30 Australian Eastern Standard Time when we get back into that. But follow Chronicles and Chaos on Twitch.

Speaker 3:

You'll also find the dungeon master Sevs over at the Toxic Tavern on TikTok. He usually goes live on there as well. But Twitch is probably the best viewing platform for us. Definitely come in, say hi, and say the podcast sent you. Yes.

Speaker 1:

Do it. Let him know. Let him know where what got you over there. Okay. Look.

Speaker 1:

That's awesome. I think we we dive on in now to the segment yesterday's news. Let let's get into it.

Speaker 2:

So let us help you rewind. The trailer's delays in the hire. What tanking, what to fly? We've got the gossipin' facts.

Speaker 1:

From Marvel flops to game past. Come take a stroll through the booze. It's time for yesterday's news. We've I

Speaker 3:

was not prepared. I haven't heard that before. Have you not heard that? No. I'm tearing up.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that was

Speaker 1:

That's wonderful.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that was beautiful. That you've given me a great gift, this beautiful I

Speaker 1:

didn't know you hadn't heard

Speaker 3:

That's amazing.

Speaker 1:

Alright. Well, let's do this. Now, the first thing that I wanna talk about, Zach Craig's weapons. Have you seen this yet, my friend? No.

Speaker 3:

On my list, but I've

Speaker 1:

heard Get to the cinema.

Speaker 3:

I have heard a lot. I've heard so many good things about this movie.

Speaker 1:

Listen to me. Get to the cinema with the fire maiden. You will love this film. I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding.

Speaker 1:

You will love this film. It is so good. It has grossed thus far a $172,000,000 worldwide USD across the world, and I think it was shot on like a $38,000,000 budget. It is a raging success. Like and it's and and it's just an amazing film.

Speaker 1:

Darkly funny, like actually very funny. Hard to predict where it's gonna go. Random. Freaky at points, like really freaky. Like like, I was kind of, you know, watching through the hands kind of thing.

Speaker 1:

Do know what I'm saying? Like like, proper terrifying in in a couple of key moments, but also dark.

Speaker 3:

You wanna you wanna let let the let the podcast listeners know. Just give them a brief summary of the movie.

Speaker 1:

Here's your brief summary of the of the movie, Thunder Nerds. If you wanna know about that, go and listen to previous edition of the podcast. We did weapons. We gave a very brief high level, I guess, spoiler free description. I'll I'll give another here, but go listen to that.

Speaker 1:

Go see it. Go see it and then listen to that podcast where we go really in-depth on it. But there is a a small section at the start where we give our high level thoughts immediately after seeing. I think a day after seeing, we all gave those thoughts. It's about at its highest level, a group of school children who who go missing.

Speaker 1:

Suddenly, they all they all up and leave their their beds at 02:17 in the morning on one particular day and vanish, and the investigation that ensues after that to try and find out what's happened to them. That's it. That's what it's about. It is really freaking good, man. Like, go go see this film, please.

Speaker 1:

It's one to see at the cinema if you can, if you can find the time. I know that you, you know, you've got kids and whatnot, but if you can get to the cinema, you will not regret seeing that. I just wanted to call out how it's done.

Speaker 3:

Week. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Now I saw something in the week, people. I I don't know if you saw this come up in your feed. You know how they're doing a did you see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino?

Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 1:

That was a good film. Really good film. Did you see there was a quote I saw getting around he must have done a podcast appearance, I believe, is where it came from. And he insinuated in it that he and David Fincher are the two best directors. And then he kinda went on to go, oh, you know, David David deserves to be in the conversation of the best director alive.

Speaker 1:

The quote was I'll I'll I'll I'll feed you the quote here. This was talking about because David Fincher's doing the the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Cliff Booth spin off with Brad Pitt, the shooting. So Yeah. If not now. He goes, I think me and David Fincher are the two best directors, so the idea that he actually wants to adapt my work shows a level of seriousness towards my work.

Speaker 1:

What's your thoughts on this? Can you can you can you call yourself the best director? Can you can you self can you can you self proclaim that? Is that fair?

Speaker 3:

I I think I think when you've reached the height that he has Mhmm. I think you can, without without any kind of ego, say, yeah, I'm I'm probably one of the best, if not the best. And and have it be a legitimate. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

See, I I think that that lacks a little humility.

Speaker 3:

Oh, it absolutely does.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I and look, I I don't mind someone going, look, I truly believe I'm the best and saying what they think. I will never deter someone from saying what they believe. And if they believe that, and they and they wanna shoot straight and and say it, that's fine. But I I just think it's a little look, I mean, who am I? But it it lacks a little bit of humbleness, and and his films are good, but, know, we're talking about Scorsese, Coppola, Spielberg, Paul Thomas Anderson.

Speaker 1:

I mean, they these are all Nolan, There's a lot of great filmmakers out there. A lot of great filmmakers. And to say that, oh, I I you know, I think David Fincher and myself are the best. I don't know about that. I'm not sure.

Speaker 1:

I'm not sure.

Speaker 3:

I mean, as with anything, art is subjective and is is a very subjective medium also than most. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, subjectively, sure. I mean, I can absolutely see the argument certainly being there.

Speaker 3:

He is in contention for one of the best directors alive, if not one of the best directors

Speaker 1:

of time.

Speaker 3:

Won't deny every single other person you've mentioned.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. No. A 100%. I I definitely want to deny you on that one. I think that like and maybe look.

Speaker 1:

I I just saw that come up. I thought I'd say it. That was the full quote. Now how it was said, I'm not sure. Maybe he was talking about the the two best directors he thinks would be good for the job, but it more insinuated to me the way it said, you know, to to to think he wanted to adapt my work.

Speaker 1:

That more sounded like he was saying in general. He he thinks that he and David Finch are the two best directors. I feel like he's had some really weird quotes over the last few years that have come out of podcast or at least at least stuff that I've seen clipped into headlines. I remember one, and I thought and I I can't remember if you've seen Dune part two, but I

Speaker 3:

I have.

Speaker 1:

I thought it was unbelievable. I thought it was one of the best, if not the best, science fiction film to come out of the last thirty years of cinema, IMO.

Speaker 3:

Easy.

Speaker 1:

And I saw a quote from him saying, oh, I refuse to watch any villain of Dune. And I went, why? Why am I seeing that clipped up in the headlines? Again, it's out of context. I've only seen the quote, but that's what that's what people do these days.

Speaker 1:

They clickbait you into this shit. But but I wonder what he's talking about there. I mean and I think I think the response from Denis was, I don't care. Fair enough. Like, he doesn't give a shit, but I just I just wonder, are we trying to get clicks?

Speaker 1:

Are we are we trying to get eyes on a podcast or something? I'm not sure what anyway, I just I thought I'd throw that one out there to you. So so that's that's something I saw. I'd I'm not a fan of it, but I completely get what you're saying. Like, you know, has he done a lot?

Speaker 1:

Yes. Is he entitled to maybe, you know, have a say? Yes. Probably yes. Well, definitely.

Speaker 3:

We we also don't know, like, you know, context of this.

Speaker 1:

That's what I mean. You you do not know the whole

Speaker 3:

could have been a joking way. It could have been like who know? I mean, he's one of the only people that can say that about himself, though. That's that's the thing that's the thing that makes this so contentious is that teasing that conversation.

Speaker 1:

That talk of the top directors of the lot. So so it's it's not like he can't say it if that's how he feels is what you're saying.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 1:

Now I wanna talk about Batman. Have you seen anything about these apparent leaks going around about the Batman two?

Speaker 3:

I've seen bits and pieces kind of going around, but nothing nothing really concrete.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Oh, look. I haven't seen the leaks, but this comes from Cosmic Book News on I think it was a Facebook one that came up in my feed. Though James Gunn claims otherwise, leaks are coming out regarding the Batman two as Matt Reeves has finished the script, and the report that I saw said that the Batman two leaks revealed Robin, a Catwoman exit, and Mister Freeze. Now I haven't looked into that.

Speaker 1:

I haven't looked into that further than that headline, but look. That that excites me though, because I I I really wanna see Mister Freeze in a in a and I think we spoke about this on on the last podcast, if I'm if I'm not mistaken. We talked about the the balance of the grittiness, but also the comic book accuracy of something like the Arkham games. I would love to see that that that tragic mister Freeze story done in like a Matt Reeves universe. I think I think it fits the bill perfectly for his vibe of Batman.

Speaker 1:

So I don't know if that's true. Again, I haven't looked into this. Just thought I'd bring that up, take it with a pinch of salt, but that excites me. What's your thoughts?

Speaker 3:

Oh, no. Absolutely. Like No. Yeah. No.

Speaker 3:

I'm I'm absolutely the same on that. That sounds amazing if that true. Robin's good. I this is this is where I get a little concerned.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Go go go go into this. Tell me tell me what what what's your concern?

Speaker 3:

My my concern is a lot of these movies can suffer greatly by having too much going on in them. So having having like mister Freeze and Robin and Catwoman, I don't want I don't want too much of that. I want if if if we're gonna have this tragic Mister Freeze story in this universe, I cannot just want mister Freeze. I don't wanna have Robin and Catwoman in that conversation as well because we get way more time to delve into those characters, delve into those stories, and really explore that if we don't have to worry about doing the same for every other introduced character. It suffers way too much from having divert having to diversify attention out to these other characters if they're in the film.

Speaker 3:

So hopefully hopefully, they're not there. Maybe you could balance one other. Maybe you could balance having Robin in there. But if you have Robin and Catwoman in there, the Mister Free story will suffer as a result and will not be as good. The the movie will not be as good as a result.

Speaker 3:

I can just Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I get you. So it's that it's that age old adage of going do not over bloat something with with with too much stuff, like less is more in that sense. Like, Absolutely. Give us quality over quantity in terms of, you know, more time with mister Freeze and more time so he doesn't get relegated to, you know, less scenes and it leaves you going, I feel like he wasn't in that film enough. Is that what we're saying?

Speaker 1:

Yep. Yep.

Speaker 3:

Yep. Absolutely.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. No. I'm I'm I think I I get on board with that. I saw something else come up. Spider Man Spider Man's been doing the rounds in my feed.

Speaker 1:

I'm not sure about yourself. There looks like there's been quite a bit going on with it looks like there's been quite a bit going on with Spider Man from what I can tell. It just keeps coming up. Brand new day. I know it's filming, so I guess it's topical at the moment.

Speaker 1:

Have you seen anything coming up about it?

Speaker 3:

Quite a lot. Yeah. Quite a lot. Yeah. Especially because this is kind of the intertwining information about Brand New Day with Beyond the Spot of Us.

Speaker 1:

Right. Okay. Because are we getting that this year?

Speaker 3:

Spot of Us film? I don't believe we are.

Speaker 1:

No. Is it coming out next year, is it?

Speaker 3:

At this point.

Speaker 1:

God, was a good cliffhanger. If you haven't seen that one, Thunder Nerds, you've gotta go and see that. Like, you've gotta you see those first two films. The first one's amazing. The second one, guess what?

Speaker 1:

Even better, IMO. And then the cliffhanger. Oh, guys, watch it and make sure when this third one comes out, you get yourselves to an IMAX to see it. Nothing else suffices, I'm sorry to say. I decree No.

Speaker 1:

Get to the IMAX.

Speaker 3:

Hard agree. Hard agree. Hard agree. It's it's in conversation here to be like, if they land this, I

Speaker 1:

One of the best trilogies of

Speaker 3:

all I pray to god they land this.

Speaker 1:

Pray they land it.

Speaker 3:

It will be the best Spider Man trilogy of all time and one of the best trilogies, period.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. It will. No. Genuinely, it will be one of the best trilogies of any trilogy ever. I'm I'm I'm talking about Thunder Nerds.

Speaker 1:

Listen to me when I say this. Okay? Listen to me when I say this. I'm talking Lord of the Rings. I'm talking Back to the Future, and I'm I'm sorry I will die on the hill of saying they're all good.

Speaker 1:

I I I know that three is not as good as the others, but it it they're all good. They're all amazing. You have to throw if they land this, it has to be in the conversation of best trilogies of all time in any medium. Right? Spider Man Brand New Day.

Speaker 1:

I saw a little quote saying that it will be like a comic book book to life. Did you see that one? Boo the Rounds?

Speaker 3:

I did see that.

Speaker 1:

I like that. I like looks like

Speaker 3:

it's gonna be interesting. Yeah. I think Brand New Day it'll be interesting to see what happens because Brand New Day is a how much I'm not sure how much you know about Spider Man, like comic wise.

Speaker 1:

I know it. I know

Speaker 3:

it. Does.

Speaker 1:

No. Go ahead. Go bring us up to date. What's what's what's Brand

Speaker 3:

New Day is the is the story in the in the comics of Mhmm. Deal basically that that Peter Parker makes with Mephisto. And A deal? Yes. And Mephisto just recently got introduced in at the end of Einhart's spoilers.

Speaker 1:

Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Hang Backtrack. Backtrack.

Speaker 1:

Backtrack. Is which one's Einhart?

Speaker 3:

Einhart is the series they brought out where it's the college the the chick that's going to MIT who wants to be the new Tony Stark who's back at her

Speaker 1:

own house. Is this a Disney is this a Disney plus Disney plus. Yeah. Okay. And so it's a series, this one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. So what? So Mephisto gets introduced at the end of that?

Speaker 3:

Sasha Baron Cohen plays Mephisto, which is crazy.

Speaker 1:

Oh, Sasha Baron Cohen.

Speaker 3:

But Mephisto do you know do you know about who Mephisto is?

Speaker 1:

No. I don't. I don't. I thought you were mispronouncing Mysterio initially. Mephisto.

Speaker 3:

No. Mephisto is Marvel's devil, effectively. He's like he's he's a big he's he's a big devil.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

Got his own realm, makes all the deals with people. It's his whole thing. And effectively, he makes a very similar deal with Peter.

Speaker 1:

Actually, I've I've just bought a

Speaker 3:

phone of him. Line. Yeah. So he this is he triggers a similar deal in Brand New Day with Peter that triggers the events of a situation that is very similar to the last Spider Man movie. So it's gonna be interesting to see how they kind of bring that into it.

Speaker 3:

Okay. Not to not to go too much, like, into the brand new day plot for those who don't. But yeah. So, like, it

Speaker 1:

Interesting.

Speaker 3:

What what effectively happens is Spotted Man's marriage to Mary Jane gets erased.

Speaker 1:

Right. Okay.

Speaker 3:

So Spider Man's secret identity forgotten by everybody

Speaker 1:

Everybody who because

Speaker 3:

he had been publicly unmasked. So everyone knew who he was. So it's yeah.

Speaker 2:

Hold up. Hold up. For that

Speaker 3:

has been

Speaker 1:

Remind me. Remind me. Was he publicly unmasked in the last one? Was he? Well, I don't think he was.

Speaker 3:

Or are we Yes. He was. He was. He was. That was the beginning of the movie.

Speaker 3:

Like, the beginning of the movie was, oh my god. Yeah. This is who this is who Peter Parker is.

Speaker 1:

Oh. At the start of No Way Home, was it? Yeah. Yeah. Fuck.

Speaker 1:

I can't remember that. But I've only seen it like once, to be fair. I saw it at the cinema and I was hyped for Tobey Maguire and so that that took precedence. So I've forgotten that if it happened. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's that's Okay. Okay. So

Speaker 3:

Yeah. So that's that's basically kind of the status quo at that point.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Okay. So that that is interesting. So we're saying that that might so well, I guess I guess if they've introduced that character in Ironheart, that that's a big indication he will be part of this film then. If that if it's if that's literally brand new data in the comics, if that's what you're saying.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. It's gonna be very very interesting to say. Like, it's it's a at this point, and if it's not brought in, people will upset.

Speaker 1:

I saw something that I liked the sound of about Brand New Day, and I'll I'll I'll go into it here. So it was it was essentially saying that the film so I I believe multiple kind of reporters or or scoopers of these leaks were kind of reporting on the fact that this film would include various side side villains, And the the rumor or the the apparent theory that I've seen going around, and I'm I'm sure you've seen this, but I'm just gonna let the Thunder Nerds know this, is that they would all appear in like an opening montage in this film where you see Peter progressing since we last saw him because there's a bit of a I I believe that there may be some type of time jump between the last film and this film, and that this the opening would see a montage of cameos of multiple Spider Man villains that we haven't seen yet on screen, realized on the cinematic screen and and the montages over the time, and and the suit, his spider suit slowly leveling up, and by the end of the montage, he reaches the suit that is the main suit of Spider Man Brand New Day.

Speaker 1:

That's what I've heard. I actually like that as an idea if that happens. I think that's kinda sick. What what do what do you think about that?

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Look, I mean

Speaker 1:

Too fancy for you?

Speaker 3:

Look. If it's done well, I can see it. I can see it being a thing that happens. I'm like this it sounds like it would be good, but that's what I'm saying. Like, I'm I'm holding I'm holding thoughts on that for the moment just because we just don't know how that's gonna present itself.

Speaker 3:

If it's presented well, I'm happy with it. There's no issue. I'm good. Yep. But we'll see what happens.

Speaker 1:

Mhmm. Okay. Yep. Hold hold fire on this. And it's all it's also look.

Speaker 1:

It's a theory. Take with a grain of salt. Again. May not may not be real at all. Right?

Speaker 3:

About Beyond the Spider Verse confirmed for 2027, by the

Speaker 2:

way?

Speaker 1:

2027. I need that fucking film now. Goddamn it. Oh my god. Animone Daniel Day Lewis returns from, well, his his his acting retirement to act in his son, Ronan Day Lewis' film that is premiering, I believe, at the New York Film Festival.

Speaker 1:

I could be wrong about that. Fact check me if I am wrong, Thunder Nerds. But I watched the trailer. I'm not sure if you've seen the trailer yet, Ice Warrior. Go and check it out after this if you haven't seen it.

Speaker 1:

Looks really freaking good. And Day Lewis, mean, he's one of the greatest actors alive, maybe the greatest film actor alive. Like, he is just unbelievable.

Speaker 3:

Well, it's interesting that you mentioned that. Mhmm. As a as a reflection back to the Tarantino point, he was Day Lewis was actually recently asked about his own acting prowess, and he said that in an interview recently the interview was like, you're one of the greatest, if not the greatest actor of all time.

Speaker 1:

What was his?

Speaker 3:

How do you reconcile this? How do you, like, how do you feel about your own your own ability? And he's like, the moment you start thinking like that, the moment you start thinking you're the best or the greatest is the moment that you're not.

Speaker 1:

That's why he's the goat.

Speaker 3:

Keeping that humbleness, keeping that you know, it's really, really interesting to kinda see that.

Speaker 1:

See, I love I love that. And and the thing is he is

Speaker 3:

So, Joel. So

Speaker 1:

he is so good. And and, you know, I'm an actor as well. Right? And and I think when you've when you've studied and you know the kind of stuff this guy is doing, it's just the choices this guy makes. They are just on a different level.

Speaker 1:

And man, I I could talk about it all day, but but he see, he, I would say, is an undisputed, just an absolute greatest full time in in his field, in his playing field. And I'm not saying that Tarantino isn't. Like, Tarantino's had some really great films. He's a really great director. He's a great writer as well.

Speaker 1:

But he's not for me, Tarantino's not like for for instance, Daniel Day Lewis, he is there is daylight between him and the next, in my opinion. And Mhmm. And when I watch, like, some of the some of these other directors, they are so good that they they there's inches between some of them. And I I wouldn't say personally, and, you know, again, it's opinions based stuff, but I wouldn't say Tarantino's like a daylight between, like so I I if anything, Day Lewis would have reason to say something like, you know, I've done the work, I've done this. To stay humble, it's just a great it's a great trait to have, I think.

Speaker 1:

And a and a great thing to keep yourself, you know like like like you just said, like, when the moment you start thinking that, that that's when you're kind of not the goat anymore. Like, you and when you think like that about yourself, you're not risking things anymore, you're not trying things. You know what I'm saying? Anyway Indeed. Indeed.

Speaker 1:

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I had not seen that and that linked in well with what we spoke about before. Now I've got here in the run sheet that you wanted to speak about k pop demon hunters. What what what's going on? What's dealing with this?

Speaker 1:

What is it? What is k pop demon? I don't know what this is. I've I've heard you talk about it. Can you please explain for us what what what is this?

Speaker 3:

K pop demon hunters is effectively a musical movie about a k pop girl group of these three girls who are also hunters. Hunters have the ability to use their songs to take down demons and create and uphold something called the hun moon, which is this shield almost that encompasses the world to keep demons in their own dimension and away from humans. And there's been generations of these groups of three hunters every generation that has upkept the hun moon and and kept the fight against demons alive. And the current group are known as Huntrix. They are incredibly popular.

Speaker 3:

They're the most popular k pop band and probably the most popular at all in this entire the entire obsessed with them. Yep. But then the demons are like, oh my god. There's gonna be something called the golden honeymoon coming if they if this group is able to achieve it because every group's been trying to, and it'll seal the demons away forever. So in order to combat that, they create their demon they create their own demon boy band, k pop boy band to combat Okay.

Speaker 3:

The hunters. It's very very incredibly well animated. The songs are absolute bangers. Netflix dropped this out of nowhere. There was no hype.

Speaker 3:

There was no announcements. There was no anything for there was nothing. No one knew anything about it, but people started picking it up. And I mean, it's so much as animation. Teamed up with Netflix to do the movie.

Speaker 3:

They animated this movie. Yep. Is within the first month of of its release, it became the most popular animated and the most successful animated movie on Netflix ever. And is soon to become, if not already is, the most popular Netflix movie ever made. It it was so popular that it has spawned theatrical releases of it that have taken the world by storm.

Speaker 3:

It has entered into Oscar nomination conversations. It is absolutely

Speaker 1:

for the for the next round of Oscars. So does it look like a shoe in or

Speaker 3:

It's very It's it's very very

Speaker 1:

Has anything like that ever been nominated for an Oscar before?

Speaker 3:

I don't know. Interesting. Genuinely don't know. Interesting. It this it would not be it would not surprise me if this was the first because this is I cannot state enough just how insanely popular this this movie is.

Speaker 3:

It is Have you watched it? Entire World by Soul. Oh, a million times. The kids are obsessed.

Speaker 1:

Oh, the kids are obsessed.

Speaker 3:

It's it's I can't get away from it.

Speaker 1:

Maybe it's just maybe it's it it might be one of those things it's just knocking on the door that where they the Oscars just can't deny it. They're just gonna have to give it a donation because otherwise people go, how do

Speaker 3:

They can't. Yeah. Yeah. Like, it will it will waver war shows.

Speaker 1:

And what and what about you've got something else here, Demon Slayer Infinity Castle. What what's doing with this?

Speaker 3:

Yeah. So Demon Slayer Infinity Castle, the last arc of the Demon Slayer anime has been made into three separate movies that are dropping.

Speaker 1:

And this one's coming

Speaker 3:

out This is also this is coming out next month internationally. It's already released in Japan, but it's coming out internationally in September. And it is already hasn't been released internationally, but it's already again in Oscar nomination territory. Purely for nothing else alone other than its animation. It has the best animation.

Speaker 1:

Does it really?

Speaker 3:

Bar none. It is

Speaker 1:

Does it?

Speaker 3:

Phenomenal. It is an it is an it is pure art made real. Like, it is genuinely so beautiful that you could watch it just for the art alone and it would be sufficient enough for it would be great viewing. Very very highly suggest. That that is an IMAX movie.

Speaker 3:

That is absolutely

Speaker 1:

absolutely Do they give that IMAX runs, do they?

Speaker 3:

Not too sure. Not too sure if they will be. Kinda hope they are.

Speaker 1:

Because I think I know that they do it though at like your villages and your know, your hoits and all that, I I I don't know if they do it at IMAX. Be a good one to see an IMAX though if you're into that.

Speaker 3:

Very hard to suggest.

Speaker 1:

Beautiful up on that screen. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

It would be absolutely big. It's in Oscar nomination territory as well. It's a big year for animation.

Speaker 1:

I've got I I wanna get into some gaming stuff with you. I saw something doing the rounds, and I'm surprised I'm really surprised on the notes that people are buying into this. There's a there's an apparent map leak of GTA six. Just just a zoomed in map leak. Nothing like you can't see the full map, just a bit of it, but apparently leaked.

Speaker 1:

I'm sending it to you right now. Have a look at this one. Someone managed to take a photo of the GTA six map that was displayed at Rockstar's booth during GamesCon. Now put an asterisk next to that, Thunder Nerds, and say allegedly because this is absolute bullshit. I'm pretty sure that this is from a confirmed fake leak ages ago.

Speaker 1:

Now there's something in here that is pretty is a pretty obvious giveaway. Can you see what it is? Have a look, guys. Wait. Have a look.

Speaker 1:

Can you see what's clearly in there as rage bait in this map?

Speaker 3:

Is it it Vice City Customs? Is that what I'm saying here?

Speaker 1:

So so say that again?

Speaker 3:

Is it Vice City Customs? Is that what I'm saying?

Speaker 1:

Nope. It's not Vice City Customs. That's just like, you know, your your spray paint go go do up your car kind of thing. They've had that in all all the all the games like Los Santos Customs and all that. Have a good look.

Speaker 3:

I'm not sure.

Speaker 1:

I'll tell you what it is. I'll tell you what it is. Now it it it was already confirmed as fake. Like, as far as I can tell, I'm I'm sure this was part of an already confirmed fake leak, but the fact that this has gotten so much momentum, people are so fucking do your research, people. I mean, we're so fat and fucking gorging on content.

Speaker 1:

No one does any research anymore. Everyone just comments away and goes this and that. Like, we're just grubs, man. Like, anyway, that's my that's just a problem I've got with society at the moment in general. It says that there's schools.

Speaker 3:

Oh. Oh. There's What? Hold on.

Speaker 1:

Just not gonna be schools. This is Oh, fuck. So anyway, I I read this and I went I I read this and I went, well, one, I'm already sure this is part of a a leak that got confirmed to be fake before. Two, it's got schools in, so I went to the comment section as you do. Now this is on Facebook.

Speaker 1:

Do you wanna know what the first comment I read was? I'll tell you what it was. Can't wait to visit them kids at school.

Speaker 3:

Fucking oh, there's two ways to take that.

Speaker 1:

Neither of them are good. Right? It's just like, come on, people. Like, you fucking like, you neck beard nerds. Like, please.

Speaker 1:

Can we

Speaker 3:

just It's GTA, though.

Speaker 1:

I know. I could

Speaker 3:

see this being real. I could so see this being a real thing that they do. And if they do it, goddamn.

Speaker 1:

Well, do you know do you wanna

Speaker 3:

know what do

Speaker 1:

you wanna know what the next comment I read said? Yeah. The next comment I read said, can't wait to visit them babies in kindergarten with my rocket launcher. Oh, Jesus. And I just went, goddamn it.

Speaker 1:

What what kind of society I I know it's a game, but is that funny? Is it like is that is that what we are? Like, when we're reduced to the fact that there's no, shall we say, there's no lore about it because it's a game. There's no there's no you know, when we're reduced to no no consequences for our actions or we we let's just go live vicariously and blow some kids up in a in a in a in a kindergarten without rock and roll. Is that is that funny?

Speaker 1:

Is it? I'm not sure. I mean, I I kinda think that's a bit fucked up, really. I I think that that's a bit that says a lot about our fucking society, I think. I know it's a game, but what I'm trying to get at here is you take away consequence, you take away, you know, it ends the game and you allow people to do it, and they the first thing they do, they don't go and do, you know, let's go let's go to the let's go to that beautiful waterfall and, like, parachute off the waterfall and go and drive our car at the far as fast as we can on the highway, and it's like, no.

Speaker 1:

Let's just go to kindergarten and blow up some kids. Do you know what I'm trying to get out with that? Is it is that

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Is that too big of a leap for me to say? Or am I completely off the the the boundary here? Do you and maybe look, they're rage baiting in the comments. But Oh, they absolutely are. I just I don't I it's tasteless, I think, personally.

Speaker 3:

No. No. No. You're right. No.

Speaker 3:

You're absolutely right. Like, it's it's It's just there's dark humor and then there's just like, come on, man. Grow up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. It's like it's it's like there's there's dark humor like, can you can be a television show that does, you know, dark or crude or humor and do it in a really well written clever way. I I I've been watching Peep Show this week. Huddersfield Girl and I have been watching Peep Show and it's fucking funny. It's it's pretty some parts you go, oh my god, that is just so bad.

Speaker 1:

But like but it's but it's it's smart comedy. And then there's just senseless, you know, tasteless kind of comments like that. And you go, that's not it's not even that funny, I don't think. But anyway, just sort of bring that up. I'm surprised how many people actually think it's real for one, so that says a lot about the people that are looking at this shit.

Speaker 1:

Halloween game. Did you see this?

Speaker 3:

I did I did hear about this. Yes.

Speaker 1:

Looks pretty good. Did you see the trailer for it?

Speaker 3:

Haven't seen the trailer for it, but The teaser? I I'm I'm cautious about a lot of these like this.

Speaker 1:

Is this the people that made Friday the thirteenth?

Speaker 3:

I don't know.

Speaker 1:

The game?

Speaker 3:

I'd have to look into it, but but the Friday the thirteenth game, as buggy as it was, was a bit of a cult cult hit, you know. Did they have story or was

Speaker 1:

it just online like Dead by Daylight?

Speaker 3:

It was just it was just online.

Speaker 1:

This one has an actual campaign I think, and an online variant too. I've read the Halloween one. So that's kind of interesting. Now we're to the scary now. Can we talk about phasmophobia?

Speaker 1:

Are you excited for this new new dynamap, Nell's Diner? Looks pretty sick. Do we know when it drops? It's gonna

Speaker 3:

be so much fun.

Speaker 1:

Can we can we find that out? Is there is there something on the on the Steam page about it? I I I'm really keen for this. Nell's Diner. It was actually a teaser which was in, I believe, the the the revamped Grafton Farmhouse, wasn't it?

Speaker 1:

And it was like a little

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Brochure. Oh, the grass and farmhouse rework basically giving us weeping angels as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Literally. Literally. Like We we jumped in there. We didn't see them.

Speaker 1:

We missed them. But I mean Yeah. Yeah. I guess we didn't we we weren't we we I think we did like one or two and we were we were done for the night when we when we went in and checked that out, but we definitely didn't see any of those. But if you if I saw that and didn't know that that was a thing that they'd added to them, I would be shit scared saying it.

Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah. It'd be absolutely terrible. No. So no update for Nels Diner currently. Okay.

Speaker 3:

But it is something that is coming out this year. So I would imagine maybe next month, maybe the month after. But it looks like it is fairly like ready to go or close enough to it.

Speaker 1:

Close enough to go. Well, when that when that when let's when that does come out, let's jump in and and give it a go and and and we'll we'll loop back here to the Thunder Nerds and and chat about it. Do you know what I'm really keen for? I am really keen for Indiana Jones and the the Order of the Giants DLC. Like, this has me excited.

Speaker 1:

Like, it's I saw another trailer come back for it. I think it might have just been a reupload of an old trailer or maybe it was a new one, but I I watched it anyway. I couldn't remember if it the same one I'd seen before, but I just I I loved my time with that game. There was a few, like like, kind of glitches and and shit with it, but I just Yeah. Loved that game.

Speaker 1:

I thought the voice work by Troy Baker was amazing. The locations were beautiful. Geezer looked amazing. It all looked amazing. Like, it did and I was I was a bit skeptical of it.

Speaker 1:

Only my main skepticism of it was around the fact that there wasn't a third person variation of the game. But oh, hang on. Something hang on. There we go. Sorry.

Speaker 3:

That doesn't surprise me.

Speaker 1:

I had to extend something. But do you do you know what I'm saying though? Like, I I really enjoyed Yeah. Like jumping into Order of Giant sorry, not Order of Giants, Great Circle, and and I thought they did it so well that it wasn't a deterrent to it. That it was only first person.

Speaker 1:

In in some ways, I actually felt like it enhanced my experience, which is not what I expected before.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. I was we we talked about this. Yeah. We did. Lead up to it.

Speaker 3:

We did. And I was I was very hesitant about it as well because a lot of these games like Tomb Raider and Nathan Drake and whatnot are that third person perspective Yep. Which are all very great games in their own right. If you've ever had the like, if you ever get the chance to sit down and play the Tomb Raider, like the the newer Tomb Raider trilogy, Beautiful, fantastic game.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 3:

But all third person. So very, very interesting to kind of see that from a first person perspective. Mhmm. But it helped. I think I think the game benefit from it greatly.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. I I I think you're right. I think that and I'm surprised that I'm I'm coming out of it and saying that. That's just not yeah. Just just not what I expected at all.

Speaker 1:

But anyway, there's we I'll tell you what we need to talk about now because there's a bit here to talk about before we get into look, if you haven't already, Thunder Nerds, chapter points are a thing. You can go to Grounded to to hear us talk about that, but I'm just there's a lot to get through. I want to talk about doctor who now.

Speaker 3:

Yes. Yes.

Speaker 1:

So let's get into that now. Now look, we're talking doctor who, let's briefly bring in Lady Penelope before we talk about it, get her thoughts on what she is thinking about that cliffhanger just so we know where she's at. Just just just so we know where the layman is at with doctor who at the moment before the ice warrior and I go and nerd out on some doctor who news that has come out. Let's get into that.

Speaker 4:

This is lady Penelope Quieton Ward speaking. Hello. Hello,

Speaker 1:

lady Penelope. You're on the podcast. How are you?

Speaker 4:

Oh, I'm actually on the bus right now, everyone.

Speaker 1:

Oh, she's on the bus. How exciting. That's all good. Can Can I ask you a really quick question?

Speaker 4:

Yep. Sure.

Speaker 1:

My question is simply this. You watched the reality war. I want you to just tell me, when you saw the doctor regenerate into Billy Piper, Did you was there any level of care or interest in that? Like, what what what was what was your thoughts when you when you saw it? Like, did you know that the woman was shocked or?

Speaker 4:

I think I saw it on TikTok before, to be honest.

Speaker 1:

Yep.

Speaker 4:

So I wasn't shocked, but I had been waiting for it the whole episode. And then when it happened, I was like, well, finally, I'm seeing what I saw on TikTok. Mhmm. I was tickled by it. I was tickled.

Speaker 4:

I was intrigued. Well, yeah, because it's bringing back the golden era, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

Yeah. But can I ask you question?

Speaker 4:

I'm a little loud on me. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

What? Can I ask you a question? Like, did is there not though, like, a feeling of this is alarm bells? Like like, Tenet back as the as, you know, apparently doc fourteen well well, actually, yes, doc fourteen. Sorry.

Speaker 1:

Like, he he did come back, and they that was it. There was no trickery there. It was like, no. This is a numbered doctor, and they, by the end of the specials, that was what it was. If they go down that same route and she actually is the sixteenth doctor and say maybe she's only there for a little bit because you wouldn't think she's going to be there for a whole era, is that panic stations that they're trying to revive that era?

Speaker 1:

Or is that interesting? It's definitely

Speaker 4:

it's giving their beating a dead horse a little bit. It's giving their clutching at straws again, same sort of vibe. But I don't know. I just like Billie. I like Billie.

Speaker 4:

I like what she brought to it last time. I think it could be good.

Speaker 1:

I mean, that's just like, I like her too. I like her too. The fact that, you know, I've called you, you've said that, you know, what I'm hearing is you'd probably tune and watch it. That to me

Speaker 4:

that that's the problem

Speaker 1:

with Doctor. Lu. That's the problem right now.

Speaker 4:

That's what they're going for though. But here's my thing, I do think I can see her doing a really good

Speaker 1:

Oh, I can tell.

Speaker 4:

That would be I think she could actually really, really do it very well, and it wouldn't be anything like

Speaker 1:

No. I agree. I I actually think that you you bang on with that. But I think my problem with this is more the precedent that it sets. Like, can we do one now?

Speaker 4:

They just keep doing it. Like, it's time to go.

Speaker 1:

No. Okay. Look. I've caught you on the bus. I I just wanted to get your thoughts because I was interested to hear what you would say.

Speaker 1:

That that has interested me. Very, very interesting that you think that it's not so so you can see you can see the the problem that it raises, but that's not enough to deter you if if Billy Cobb was

Speaker 4:

to that off. Yeah. I'm curious that I've probably

Speaker 1:

been her friendlies Wednesday?

Speaker 4:

Wednesday?

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Season two. She's in it, isn't she?

Speaker 4:

Oh, I've never even seen that show, to be honest.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you haven't seen it? I thought we watched it at one point.

Speaker 4:

No. Think I oh, I think maybe we tried to watch it together. I couldn't do it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. I think I think I yeah. I think that was our consensus. We we tried. We tried when we're at your old place, and we just we couldn't get through an episode.

Speaker 1:

Okay, no. All good. Is it sunny there today?

Speaker 4:

It is a little overcast, but the sun is shining through a

Speaker 1:

little bit. The sun is shining. Alright. Sorry. Sorry about that.

Speaker 1:

I hope you enjoy your bus ride. Where where are you going? Actually, I'll I'll beat this.

Speaker 4:

Oh, I'll beat this. I'm going to Bondi.

Speaker 1:

You're going to really? No. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. No.

Speaker 1:

Cool. Enjoy. Enjoy Bondi. Here it's full of Enjoy. Okay.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

Thank you. Bye.

Speaker 1:

We'll talk to you later. Goodbye. Goodbye. So doctor who, first of all, did you see well, let me send you this as a as a photo. I don't know if you saw this doing the rounds the other week.

Speaker 1:

I thought this was a lovely little nod. Take it as you will, Thunderbirds. Does this is this canon for you? Is it is it not? I kinda thought it was an awesome little nod.

Speaker 1:

I like it when shows do this. Star Trek Brave New Worlds, the TARDIS was aboard a couple of weeks ago, I think. One of their episodes. Thought that was pretty sick. Throwing the TARDIS while

Speaker 3:

we're there. That's pretty cool.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. So that's a cool little thing that happened. So what else have I got to talk about? There there there's a there's there's quite a bit going around with Doctor Who. I just need to to find my notes here.

Speaker 1:

One thing I saw well, War War Between the Land and the Sea finally got confirmed as being a 2026 release, which we thought it was, but but there was one that recently, like, would they push that forward and bring it to to late twenty twenty five? No. It is going to be 2026 now. I saw something that I think happened when when I think it might have been talking about something to do with the land the war between the land and the sea. Kate Phillips, who's the chief content officer at the BBC, spoke about the future of Doctor Who.

Speaker 1:

Where was this? Here we go. Phillips was asked about the series future at the Edinburgh TV festival. Her response was any Whovians out there, rest assured Doctor Who is going nowhere. Disney has been a great partnership and it continues with the war between the land and the sea next year.

Speaker 1:

But going forward with or without Disney, Doctor Who will still be on the BBC. So confirmation that Doctor Who will survive the Disney deal be what happens with that once the war between the land and the sea finishes, which, yeah, is interesting. It's I do I do maintain that Doctor Who going off air might be just what it needs. I I'm pretty steadfast in my belief that Doctor Who could now it's in a place that it was not in in 1989. It could go off air right now, not come back for another ten years, and it would be guaranteed to a a revival at some point, whereas that wasn't a certainty in 1989 when it went off air, and the public consciousness was a little bit all the consensus around it was a it was a bit of a joke or it become a bit of a joke.

Speaker 1:

I think it's in a very different place now. It's a money making thing for the BBC. It's a juggernaut. That's why they're probably not gonna let it go off air too long, but I kinda think it could do with the rest and come back with some new ideas and some new writers behind it. First of all, before we go any further, what's your thoughts on that?

Speaker 1:

No. I mean, there's there's

Speaker 3:

a few different ways to certainly take what she said there. I mean, Doctor Who will always be on the BBC. Okay. Is it going to have new episodes? Is it gonna like it's just saying you very it's it's a very safe thing to state because of the ways it can be but we can most likely, yeah, no, it's still gonna be, you know.

Speaker 3:

We'll have to wait and see what happens with War Between Linn and the Sea. If it actually ends up being decent and what we kind of want it to be, what we're kinda hoping it's going to be, then it's going to do very, very well for them. Mhmm. I definitely agree with you there about it needing to take a break and it being in a safe enough position to do so. Mhmm.

Speaker 3:

I think it's really disappointing, but it kinda feels like they've lost a little bit, and then you kinda bring that in, and that's only gonna come with time. But yeah. Like, I don't know. We'll we'll wait and see what happens.

Speaker 1:

I think that, like, there's just too much and I've talked about this with you before. Mean, we've we've we've had numerous conversations about this on the podcast and off the podcast where it's just too convoluted now. You know, you've got war doctor, you've got fugitive doctor, fourteenth doctor was there for three episodes, and then he regenerated to the fifteenth doctor, he bio regenerated as a different type of thing, and then we got this Billy Piper, and is she the doctor, is she not the doctor? Maybe she's not, maybe she's the moment or something from the day of the doctor, or maybe maybe she's bad wolf reincarnated or something. It's just like, I I I don't care.

Speaker 1:

Even as a hardcore fan of this show, you've lost me. I don't care. So what what is a general audience gonna think? They don't give a shit about the law of doctor who. They don't.

Speaker 1:

They don't. So anyway, I mean, I just I just think and and, know, I saw something recently, Tharries on YouTube was talking about how in the doctor who the latest doctor who magazine, right at the back somewhere, there's there's, you know, some type of talk about the the the first shooting up a final with SuTech. Right? And some Doctor Who magazine writer in there, I don't know who this was, but they've put in a bit there's some type of a spiel. I think it's about, like, it's to do with the fact that there's a new fourth Doctor SuTech audio releasing or something, And this writer in Doctor Who magazine has gone and and done like a bit of a write up on this, and in it, it's like, you know, in an alternate in an alternate timeline, SuTech, the time corridor that the doctor trapped him in in Pyramids Of Mars was actually the time vortex, and he used it to cling on to the TARDIS and and and then become a god or something.

Speaker 1:

And it insinuates that what we see in Russell t Davy's second era is actually an alternate timeline that's not even the main timeline. So what the fuck is that? That's just a little back of the magazine write up thing that insinuates that the whole of RTD two is not even the main timeline of Doctor Who. It's an alternate timeline we're watching. What what's going on there?

Speaker 1:

Has has he got inside knowledge about future plans and he's actually that we spilled the beans on something or like, it's just it's too much. There's too much divergence from from fucking sanity people. From just from just straight just just give me a linear timeline, man. I I need to just I don't need all this peeling off and shit, and and I wanna get into something with you now. Okay?

Speaker 1:

Because I don't know how much you know about this. So the Doctor Who steelbook for Shooty Gat was second season released. And interestingly, we talked about this, like, Susan shows up in the Interstellar Interstellar Song Contest. Right? Like all of a sudden, Susan's just there.

Speaker 1:

Like that's that's a big deal. Right? Doesn't return for Wishworld or the Reality War, like nothing there for Susan, which is a weird choice given that it felt like she was meant to play some type of role in that reality war finale, because now Doctor Who's going off air for however long. We've had Susan appear for one random moment, which is a massive deal in in in Doctor Who. And and what we're just gonna go, okay, well, you know, I guess we'll just that's it.

Speaker 1:

Like, wait until we we come back on air, I guess. What if she I mean, she's she's not getting any younger. Like and I I wanna talk about this with you. On the steelbook behind the scenes, they did an interview with her, Carol Ann Ford, who plays Susan. And did they give something away on this?

Speaker 1:

They they the name of the interview on the on the on the on the Blu ray extras is Reality War Cast Catch Up, and she features in this discussion.

Speaker 3:

Okay. And

Speaker 1:

one, she's there's moments where they're talking about, like, just talking and she's wearing this the the the the kind of clothing we saw in in in the Interstellar Song Contest when she cameoed. And two, there's a gray alternate version of it that she does interviews in that we never saw. Okay? Now along and I this is something I'm not sure you and I have talked about, but there was there was a leaked you know how Disney plus does background images? Like Yeah.

Speaker 1:

For for the episodes when you go to click play? There was one that was leaked from a different country's Disney plus before it aired, and it never ended up being the one that was actually on it, I believe. But it was a shot of Shudi Gatwa, Vireita Sathu as as Belinda, and and they're in a nightclub. And I've seen the image, and it's got the whole Disney thing and all that, and it was an image is if you click on and press play. Now what the leakers have said over the last few months is they they are so steadfast in that ChewDieGat was meant to do a season three.

Speaker 1:

So something went wrong. Right? The the the leaks were and the and the rumors were that they had shot the ending of the reality war, and it ended with the doctor, Belinda, and all the unit guys. They were in a nightclub, and they were celebrating, overcoming, you know, all the all the troubles of the reality war. Like, it's at the end.

Speaker 1:

It's like a it's almost like a Return of the Jedi celebration on Endor at the end, where they're all kinda, yeah. And apparently, the Vlynx was DJing in this scene. And then there's a moment right at the end where you see where Susan from afar, and she's watching the doctor in the nightclub, and that was the ending of the season. Now they are saying that Gatwell left, and it was always the plan for him to leave after season two. But my question to you, Ice Warrior, is this.

Speaker 1:

The leaks look to be true. Why did Shudi Gatwa really leave? Like, what what are they not telling us? What what is it that we're just getting glimpses of in this in this Disney league? What is it that we're just getting glimpses of in this Blu ray set where they accidentally say that she was in the reality we'll catch up, not like a why are we seeing a different costume variation?

Speaker 1:

Why are they so steadfast saying on all, you know, platforms that they're doing that that they get questioned on, and all the behind the scenes Gat was quoted, It was always the plan for me to leave after two seasons, and they're they're all saying behind the scenes that this was always the plan. What went wrong? Why did he leave? What are your thoughts on this?

Speaker 3:

I see, that's the thing. I think there's I mean, there could be a variety of reasons, but I think part of it and and here's here's my little tinfoil hat.

Speaker 1:

Put put your tinfoil hat. Hang on. Hang on. Let's put our tinfoil hats on. Yep.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. So my little Tim Foil hat moment is I think Mhmm. To a certain extent, one of the one of the reasons part of the reason why he's gone

Speaker 1:

is because he saw it as a sinking ship. Do you know what?

Speaker 3:

I think he got himself out of there. Part of part of me thinks I've you know, he got himself out of there. Do

Speaker 1:

you know what? I'm not gonna lie to you. I kinda think you might be right. I kind of think that that might have happened. Like, I really think you could be bang on with that, and I and that pains me.

Speaker 1:

But I but I I just ask myself. I say to myself, would he have left if season one was a raging success? Do you know what I'm saying?

Speaker 3:

Probably not. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Like, would he have left? Let's let's be dead honest with each other. If if season one ended and and it blew up and the world was talking about Doctor Who and what in the likes of which we hadn't seen since like the David Tennant era, would he have left?

Speaker 3:

I don't think he would have. I don't think Well, like, see, not only like not only season one going so well, but having having the entire structure of both seasons actually change, be more consistent, be decent bloody episodes. Like, they're not we're not this wasn't r t g r t g Jesus Christ. God, you know what I'm saying. It wasn't him at his finest.

Speaker 3:

It wasn't.

Speaker 1:

And that's just a fact. That's that's not being, you know, that's being objective about it. It was not it was not on the on the consistency. It was not the consistent quality of of his of his first era. It just wasn't.

Speaker 1:

Fact. So did he did he did he see well, okay. Let's let's let's think on what you've just said. So we're saying, okay, Caesar's a sinking ship. It's not doing as well.

Speaker 1:

Now he had said he had said to his agent a couple years before or whatever, or maybe a year before he got casted, he went to his agent and he said, I wanna play Willy Wonka or Doctor Who. And then when he got cast as Doctor Who, there was this excitement about it, you know. He he knew about the first era. He'd seen the first era. He was excited.

Speaker 1:

He'd gone and watched all the episodes. He probably went, you know, these are great. This is great storytelling. This is great energy. David Tennant's awesome.

Speaker 1:

Billy Piper, Katherine Tate, this is amazing. It was big back in the day. It was massive when Tennant was in it. Russell's back at the helm. I like his writing.

Speaker 1:

Did he start to see the scripts coming through, or did something deter him? He went, I don't know about this, and then and then when it didn't do well, you think, well, I've got a career here to preserve. The audience isn't liking this. I'm only just getting started. Did his agent have a chat with him and say this for your career, the best thing you can do is leave?

Speaker 1:

Did they have a chat about it? I don't know. I I I I can't see a world where doctor who succeeds beyond all, you know, expectation and he leaves. I just can't say that. I I think he would have been there for three to four seasons if it had done well and followed that David Tennant, Capaldi, Matt Smith blueprint kind of thing.

Speaker 1:

So, yes, that that is definitely a reason that he he may have left. I'm I'm trying to think outside the box what else well, I I guess that's it. The scripts allow he wants to do something else. Maybe it's also got to do with the fact that if you're an actor and you're sitting there going, I wanna do other shit. This didn't really do that well.

Speaker 1:

I the audience isn't loving it, and now Disney's not even gonna renew it until the war between the land and the sea. Am I gonna sit around on my hands and and and wait for them to renew this even though it's not even doing that well? Maybe if it was a show that was doing so well, he would have been more willing to wait around because it would have been worth

Speaker 3:

the wait. I would have.

Speaker 1:

Do you know what I'm saying? But maybe he just went, no. This isn't worth it. I'm out. I'm gone.

Speaker 1:

And I don't know how that god, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall and seen how that conversation went down because you've got to think they shot this. That that's the crazy part about this. The the the reality war was shot, picture locked, done. It had an ending with Gatwa, and then all of a sudden, the whole last twenty five to thirty minutes changes and his reshoots. Anyway, it's food for thought.

Speaker 3:

I would I would love to have seen and we'll never see it, but my god, I would love to see the original ending.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. I wreck and and that's the thing. It's like, now that we've seen so much leaking out about it, it's kinda it that makes me all the more interested as to why they are continuing this narrative that it was never meant to be the case when it's it's becoming very very obvious to everyone that cares to look into it hard enough that it was absolutely not meant to be the case, but they're sticking to that narrative. It's very interesting. So that that makes me more and I think I think, look, time usually tells.

Speaker 1:

Like like, I I think that if we we leave this long enough and when it goes in and becomes a part of history, I I I imagine this will all come out in the wash down the track. And I'm really interested to know how it all played out and and what what people say about it when a bit of times passed. But anyway

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think if they admit to it now I I mean, if they admit to it at all

Speaker 1:

It's conceding defeat almost at the moment.

Speaker 3:

It's conceding defeat, and then it's it's gonna be worse for them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. It is.

Speaker 3:

They have to actually

Speaker 1:

They have to bite they almost have to knuckle down and say, we've we've sold this narrative. We have to keep this narrative. The if we say that ChewDie Gabba came back and left and we reshot because of it, that the optics of that don't look good for this show. So anyway, it's very interesting how history repeats itself, like a doctor who leaves very soon and somehow has a breakdown of relationship. Eccleston and Gatwa, very similar.

Speaker 1:

Very similar. How these two RTD eras have have have mirrored each other in in the best and worst ways possible. Very, very interesting. But anyway, let's let's press on. Should we get should we get into the main feature of the day now?

Speaker 1:

We we should probably get into it.

Speaker 3:

We should.

Speaker 1:

Let's do it. Let's talk about grounded two, and then let's wrap this party up because I wanna play it. So, grounded two. Can we talk about the good, the bad, the ugly? I'm about twenty five hours into playing grounded two now.

Speaker 1:

Where have you found the time to to you've you've sunk almost double what I've sunk into it. How how have you done that? When have you been on? Have you have you had it loaded on the screen or something and it's contributed towards your steam hours? Because I was looking at the other day and I went, how the hell does he have more than me by like double?

Speaker 3:

I think I think that is part of it. I think that is part of it. But I have also been

Speaker 1:

You've been on?

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Gaming out. Like, I was I was up until like 03:30 in the morning

Speaker 1:

Last night? Kind

Speaker 3:

of doing stuff.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. On grounded?

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

You absolute

Speaker 1:

Oh. No. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on a second.

Speaker 1:

Are you serious?

Speaker 3:

That's I'm not even joking.

Speaker 1:

Holy shit. You were going to town.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. No. I was I was going for it.

Speaker 1:

But you're not progressing the story though. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Sure. No. No. No. No.

Speaker 3:

Was good. No. I haven't been doing that. I've running doing other stuff. I've also I spent a lot of time just kind of just not like having the game up, but also like doing other stuff as Doing

Speaker 1:

other shit. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So what what what are we liking about it thus far? Like, what what what's what's what's it doing that, you know, doesn't just just warrant you switching it off and going back to Grounded One?

Speaker 3:

I think I mean I mean, definitely because it's it's a brand new area. It's a brand new story. The systems are a bit refreshed, you know. It's it's it's got enough going for it that I don't feel the need to go back. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Also, I don't really feel the need to go back to ground one because it's for me, that's over. Mhmm. So I wanna delve more into this new story, this new evolution. Well, story I mean, if we're gonna talk about the big one. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

If we're gonna talk about the thing they're doing the most right, and we're on the same page about this Yes. It's the buggies.

Speaker 1:

Buggies. Oh my god.

Speaker 3:

We haven't even un we haven't even unlocked the orb we've used yet, and it's just just the ant alone is so goddamn good. And the fact we're gonna be able to ride so many more things. I

Speaker 1:

was reading well, actually, yeah. I'll we'll get into that in a moment. We'll get into that in a moment. The buggies at a high level are freaking awesome. And look, for context, I was playing this game early, Thunder Nerds.

Speaker 1:

I was enjoying it. I'm not gonna lie. I was enjoying grounded two just just just because like like the ice water said, like, new game, new story, it's it's got new biomes, it's new locations, it's not the same locations I've been in before, like, it's already a massive map. Just just what they've released thus far is pretty much the size of Grounded Ones map, and this is only like one fourth of the the map that it will be when they release the whole thing. It's great.

Speaker 1:

Right? But I was definitely at the start going, you know, yeah, it's good. I I mean, new area and all that, but the buggies, as soon as we got them, entirely changed the game for me. I have been hooked on it since. It is such a great quality of life update to be able to jump on a buggy that can carry stuff for you.

Speaker 1:

They can run fast. They can you can use them in combat. You can you can kind of hail to to get back up and all that from other ants and all that. They're gonna add more buggies over time. They're gonna add mutations.

Speaker 1:

They're gonna add customizations. I imagine you'll be able to do more with them, like, they are an awesome quality of life update. And what about the the Omni tool as well? It's great.

Speaker 3:

Not having to, like, craft all these different bloody

Speaker 1:

Different items and use

Speaker 3:

them in

Speaker 1:

your backpack.

Speaker 3:

And stuff. It's

Speaker 1:

good. It's beautiful. It's a great quality of life update. I wanna talk about so one thing, and I I I've been building out base, which we've kinda just made pretty close to the starting area.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. It's just easy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Just an easy place to to to put it, I suppose. And it's got good resources and all that that don't take too long to get to. It's kinda near the tap. There's probably a few taps in the game.

Speaker 1:

But anyway, look, the what I wanted to talk about was I've been cutting weed stems down and I've been going, oh my god, like this buggy, can it not be like linked to the omni tool? Like, if I upgrade my omni tool to to to a level two axe, can I not be able to cut weed stems and not just the dandelion ones? Yeah. Was on Reddit last night doing a bit of reading. It looks as though the Orb Weaver cannot cut the tier two down, unfortunately.

Speaker 1:

Didn't think

Speaker 3:

it would. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Apparently, it's very good in combat. You've said it's very fast as well. Now one people are speculating that eventually when they release like, you know, when they allow you to to use the black ants, like their tier two. So they'll probably have the tier two ability. The fire ants tier three will probably have the tier three abilities.

Speaker 1:

So it'll go up like that, which makes sense.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that makes sense. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Do you what

Speaker 3:

I mean? Actually, no. That's a very good point. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. So so as they bring in more ants, they'll they'll you'll probably be able to just have higher tier event that will be able to do that tier of things, if that makes sense. One thing that I really think that this game could do with and look, get on board with me with this one.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

When you're and because I I I I'm looking to build a base at one of the trees that that, you know, when they bring ziplines in, we'll be able to get us from from our, you know, the tree base that I'll build to the the base we've already got. Now I extensively tried to to build my

Speaker 3:

You need to tell the people what you did, bro. You need to tell the people. Because I need to I need to let everybody know, Trevor says, I knew what he was doing. Fully let him do it, knowing full well he's going to end up regretting it. I'm like, bro, you do what you wanna do.

Speaker 3:

You're off in your own little world. You you oh, it's like Yeah. Tell the people.

Speaker 1:

It's like what it's like a kid in a candy store and you go, you know, I'll let you do it. Okay. Enjoy it. But be careful. Are you sure you wanna do it?

Speaker 1:

And then and then they regret it, and you go, I I I didn't wanna say it to you, sir. That's kind of what the the ice war was like.

Speaker 3:

It was Exactly. Yep.

Speaker 1:

I built a scaffolding into the sky. I planned to build myself a a pathway for all intents and purposes from our base, from a scaffold in the sky, all the way over to where the tree was so that I'd already be at the tree, then it's just the plan was I can just run up and and and and I don't have to, you know, cross any bugs or spiders on my way, and I can just get stuff over really quickly to the base. I tore it down pretty fast. Actually, let me preface that. I built myself pretty much all the way to the tree, and then I bought it crashing down.

Speaker 1:

And the reason for it was I realized this is a lot of resources. It is nearly crashing my PC because the render of this huge sky tower and trail above me has to render every time I'm running under it or around it. It was almost scratching the PC and I just went, you know what? It's not that hard to just run stuff over to the tree and then just build Which

Speaker 3:

is what I thought the entire time, especially with the buggies. And he's like, oh, this will make it easier.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. So the the

Speaker 3:

Sure, buddy. Sure.

Speaker 1:

Sure. So that's what happened. Now, what I wanna say is this. Please, Obsidian, if you're listening to this, and you very likely are, I need you to bring in palettes that can carry chests. Please.

Speaker 1:

Something like that. So bring me in a, you know, a little a cart or something that I can attach to the back of my buggy that that I can load the cart up with stuff, and then the buggy runs it. Allow me to to build a big pallet that I can put all the chests on, and then I just move the pallet. And then with the pallet, once I place it, all the chests are on it. I just oh, when moving bases, it was a problem in the first game.

Speaker 1:

It's gonna be a problem here. Moving bases and moving materials from one or the other is so time consuming. If we just add a pallet or something that attaches to the back of the body like a trailer, that would be a massive health. Thoughts on that?

Speaker 3:

Oh, no. No. Absolutely. No. That I can see them adding a little like cart feature.

Speaker 1:

I think that's

Speaker 3:

absolutely sick. Maybe it's a maybe it's a black hand thing or a fire.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Like something like that. You know the you get the vision. You know what I'm saying. Like

Speaker 3:

Yeah. No. I when it because you need you need to have something like that, otherwise, you've got no incentive to move.

Speaker 1:

To move. Because otherwise, you're like, oh, it's just too hard. Just won't do it. So Yeah. Please add something like that.

Speaker 1:

You know, if I'm I'm sure that that's what they're doing with the ants, like like making them be upgraded to do tier tier abilities that match the tier level that they are, so that that takes off one of the things I wanted to talk about. There are a few bugs in this game. There's also a few bugs. There's both. Now, is it enough to deter us from playing the game?

Speaker 1:

Thought? No. I agree.

Speaker 3:

It's just too much fun, man.

Speaker 1:

It's too much fun.

Speaker 3:

It's it's it's just I I now when we did initial, like, initial grounded

Speaker 4:

Mhmm.

Speaker 3:

I we came pretty early into the early access for it. We jumped in. We had fun, and then I then we kinda just dropped out.

Speaker 1:

I didn't finish the story with you, did I?

Speaker 3:

No. I jumped in

Speaker 1:

probably

Speaker 3:

about four months ago now, close enough to it, with another friend of mine and did Grounded. We we did all of Grounded One. Smashed it out. It was really fun.

Speaker 1:

Great story. Fun bosses.

Speaker 3:

So It much better getting into it there.

Speaker 1:

In it in its in its fully yoked state, you mean? Like, it's it's it's a state where it was clean and smooth and

Speaker 3:

It was fully it was fully done. Yeah. They And were just about to announce grounded two. Like, that's that it was the most stable Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You did it recently before they announced grounded two. That's when you did it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like, it the best place for it to be. It was fantastic. Yep.

Speaker 3:

So part of me is like, I'm loving getting into this now, but my god, when this is fully done, is it going to be astronomically better? And Probably. It's getting to the point very closely now that I we're to the point where we can't really do too much more. There's a few other thing that we can do realistically, but I think Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I think you and I are fairly close to finishing the story that is released thus far, I believe. In fact, I saw something, and I don't know if you saw this, but I saw something when I was going on Reddit that suggested that the story thus far doesn't even allow you the Weaver access as a buggy.

Speaker 3:

I've I've been seeing so many things about like you'd like having an Orb Weaver buggy though. I've seen so many people say that, oh, they use it.

Speaker 1:

Interesting. So because I I saw something suggesting that the content where it's up to thus far, maybe it's just where that person's up to. That essentially, they were saying, I can I know where the eggs are, but the the like, the where the story is, I can't do it yet? But may maybe they were just talking about their story in particular. Because I I saw a while ago that I thought that the two buggies in release right now were the Orb Weaver and the the ant.

Speaker 1:

So when I saw that the other time, was like, don't tell me we don't even get the Orb Weaver because that's gonna be so annoying.

Speaker 3:

Oh, I'm gonna be very upset if that's the codes.

Speaker 1:

So no. Hopefully, that's that's just their story. Because we we found where they are. You found where they were. So

Speaker 3:

I found out they a couple other places where they are, actually.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay. We so we know places where they are. We're just waiting for it. Look, I think that we'll probably we'll progress some story today. But it is and it is a fun story.

Speaker 1:

Hey, so so a ladybug buggy is coming. That's one of the ones that's coming soon.

Speaker 3:

Yep. That could be that could be the car puller, honestly. I mean, that could be a situation where we do that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Well, it it and it very well may be. It very well may be. I saw something about the new boss coming. Did you say this?

Speaker 1:

No. So in the roadmap, it's got a x l on the first Yep. For the first boss. Yep. Now Yep.

Speaker 1:

I thought this was interesting because they Because someone someone mentioned the other day, like, oh, they've they've put up a teaser about something, like a new day or something. And and it and it was seemingly suggesting that the first big update was actually closer than we think it is to coming out, which is exciting. The first boss and I don't know if it was in the trailer, but I but they've the the the first boss, this AXL has been confirmed. The rumors are that the the chick that we've been listening to who's been hacking and everything, that she'll be riding the boss coming out. That's the rumor.

Speaker 1:

The boss is a tarantula.

Speaker 3:

Oh. Oh my god. Give us that.

Speaker 1:

And there's photos of it.

Speaker 3:

Show me the photos.

Speaker 1:

I'll find them. I'll find them. I haven't I haven't done this. Let me send it. Grounded to oh, let me send it here.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Here we go. I'll send it to you. So I don't know why it's called AXL by the way. I'm sending it.

Speaker 1:

Tell me when you can see this. Tell me that this doesn't get you It's

Speaker 3:

like it's like

Speaker 1:

Tell me this doesn't get you fucking hot and horny. Look at this.

Speaker 3:

Oh my god. Bro. Bro. Oh, look at it. Oh, that's that is beautiful.

Speaker 3:

That's beautiful.

Speaker 1:

So sorry.

Speaker 4:

Know what

Speaker 3:

I want? You know what I actually kinda want? Yeah. With all these with all these trees and everything got around, I kinda want a squirrel boss.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yes. Like

Speaker 3:

How dope would that be in squirrel? Can, like, get make squirrel armor out of it and stuff like, oh, bro, please.

Speaker 1:

Sick. That would

Speaker 3:

be Like, I I don't even like, gives you gives you a bonus to, like, Because That gives you a bit of like climb things or something. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Were the what were the in the first? There was the brood mother spider. That was terrifying.

Speaker 3:

Oh my god. There was a man's

Speaker 1:

How big was the brood spider? Was that?

Speaker 3:

Huge. Massive. Bigger than anything else.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if I ever fought the brood.

Speaker 3:

There was the infected variants of all the others. Because the infected brood monster was crazy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. The infected brood and the infected wolf was big. I'm gonna look at I just sent you another photo of the tarantula.

Speaker 3:

It's terrifying.

Speaker 1:

I'm just gonna look up the brood mother now.

Speaker 3:

Brood looks dove.

Speaker 1:

Branded to brood mother. And there was like a

Speaker 3:

In comparison to an old weaver Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's that's a lot. So big, man. Oh, the Broodmother was freaky. I think the Tarantula looks freakier than the Broodmother though.

Speaker 3:

100%.

Speaker 1:

But that looks terrifying. Is that a fully grown Orb Weaver? That's not

Speaker 3:

I don't think it is. That

Speaker 1:

couldn't be, surely. No. I don't think so. So there was there was Praymantus, I think, as well, wasn't it? In the in the I think it was a Praymantus boss.

Speaker 1:

There was a few different bosses in the first one, but no. Look, really keen for that. I don't actually have a lot of bad things to say about this game because I just think it's so good. There's something I'll tell you something that's annoying me, and I don't know if this is standard for everyone. Sometimes when we're playing, the hosting seems to do this thing.

Speaker 1:

I'm getting this issue come up where, like, you know, all this grass is grown or whatever, and the ice warrior is hosting the game, and I go to chop it down, and I can't chop it, I can't interact with it. And then when we we get out of it, reload it, it's not there. It was just a glitch for me that I can see all this stuff. You could

Speaker 3:

say instances where I've chopped down things recently. Right. And like, I've chopped down some weeds, for example. And then the weeds, like, reappear, and I chop them down and nothing happens. It's like a ghost weed in a in a sense.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. That's that's

Speaker 1:

it's weird. It's really really weird. Like, it's something's going on with that. It's it's like between hosts on the shared world, something's going on. The other thing is and I don't know if you've tried this, like, in my inventory, I really like to use their, like, where you can I think it's on the keyboard y, you can hold it and you can sort your inventory out?

Speaker 1:

You used to be able to do that in grounded one with the chests. So you could go into a chest, you put all the stuff in there that you want in there, and then you do the the button and it will sort the chest like optimally to be like, okay, if there's a stack of 15, there's a stack of 14, a stack of one or something, it'll move that one to the fifth, and then you don't have to do it manually. And and on this one, when you go to do that in the in in a chest, it's like glitched and won't let you do it. I don't know if you've noticed that, but but but you can do it in your inventory. It's really fucking annoying.

Speaker 1:

But anyway, that's it's minor shit. That that's that's how good this game is. It's minor I like the dodge feature they've introduced where you can be in the battle and dodge away, like especially if you're fighting like mosquito or a bee or something, dodging is really good. I'm trying to think what else there is to say. Love the oh, I love the ice biome.

Speaker 1:

Very cool. Scorpions are freaky, very freaky. Anything else to talk about? I mean, we're 20 we're twenty five hours in. I mean, the story is good, but I feel like we're from what the developers have said, we're barely touching the story in the in what they've released thus far.

Speaker 1:

Like, they've said, oh, we realized that you were getting through the story so fast that we've made the story way more extensive for game two, and that's exciting. So I've heard I've heard people say that they really like how the story ends thus far when we get to it with what they've released. That's exciting. But should we just progress the story today?

Speaker 3:

We should.

Speaker 1:

Let's just do it. Let's just do it. Is there anything else you wanna say about it? I mean, was our main feature, but I I I feel like I've covered everything off. I'm I'm enjoying the crafting.

Speaker 1:

It is one of the funnest, most smooth crafting systems I've ever played, I think. Like, easy to understand, works. Everything just works and makes sense, if you know what I mean by that. Like, the crafting system just works.

Speaker 3:

It does. It really, really does, man. Like, it it makes a massive, massive difference, I think. The it the crafting the crafting system is just it's nice. It's nice to see.

Speaker 3:

It's fun. It's like it's intuitive. I think I think that helps out a lot. It is intuitive. If it wasn't then yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. It's really it like it's not hard to pick up and understand it, I think. Look, let's leave it there. Let's leave it there. I I I think we need to progress this story, my friend.

Speaker 1:
