Wanna again welcome you to The 405 Coffee Break. It's nice out there. Guys, get you a cup of coffee, glass of lemonade, bottle of water. Let's see what's happening.
OK Solberg:Spring wheat $6.03 before dockage, 550lb steer calf not moving much now. I'll give you a heiferite prices, 30 head from the 40 Mile Colony were sold at PAYS when a 1,020lb sold at $3.10 a pound that equates to $3,162 a head for a heiferite. Butcher hog in Iowa 68ยข a pound, and a 100lb fat lamb in Billings $3.07 a pound. But, guys, there's more, much more.
OK Solberg:I can't drive 55. One foot on the brake and one on the gas. Well, there's too much traffic, and I can't pass. Go on and write me up for $125. Post my face. Wanted dead or alive. Take my license and all that jive. I can't drive 55.
OK Solberg:Well, evidently, I can. Let me tell you that story. Went to Billings yesterday and got my chores done, full tank of gas, and, well, headed back home. Uh-oh. Flat tire. Flat tire. I haven't had a flat tire in years. Yes, sir Bob.
OK Solberg:15 miles north of Billings. That's where it happened. And I'm not living in the past. This here is a current event. It was yesterday.
OK Solberg:Well, I even wondered if I've I'd have to pull out the owner's manual and figure out where the jack and tire iron were. I even thought I might have to pull up a YouTube video to find out how to get my spare tire out. But alas, Honda CRV. It was easy peasy. Did it myself.
OK Solberg:But all I got on is a donut. Come on, guys. What's the deal with a donut? Do you know the recommended top speed for them little tiny tires is 50 miles an hour? Yeah.
OK Solberg:It is. Look it up yourself. Well, I've never been one to follow all the rules. So I set the cruise at 55. Close enough.
OK Solberg:Right? And I was homeward bound. Man, I saw a lot of sights along the drive. I didn't know they were there. I've never seen that before.
OK Solberg:At 55 you have time to soak in the sights. It was actually a very pleasant drive. But hear me now and don't ever forget. I rolled into town on the donut. Right about 200 miles, I drove that thing.
OK Solberg:Came in on the donut. Pride slightly deflated, cruising in on the emergency pancake, slid into town on the backup plan. Man, made it on just get there wheel. Just gonna get there. 200 miles, I did really good.
OK Solberg:Stop by my house and visit with me, will you? My car is the one in the front with a doughnut on the right rear. Well, when trouble arises, a good plan is to go to the bible, your bible. Let's see if we can find an appropriate bible verse. You know, guys, it is a good plan.
OK Solberg:And I did just that, and I found 3, not just one, 3 to cover my flat tire experience. Listen. First one from James 1:2-3 So that's James 1:2-3 James one verses two and three.
OK Solberg:Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
OK Solberg:Yep. And here's another for my flat tire woes.
OK Solberg:I have said these things to you that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation, but take heart, I have overcome the world. John 16:33
OK Solberg:You know, I really like that. I want peace and I like peace and peace is a lot better than being bitter.
OK Solberg:And finally, the 3rd fitting bible verse, we are afflicted in every way but not crushed, perplexed but not driven to despair, persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed.
OK Solberg:I made it home. Three different passages, 3 items of hope. James 1:2-3 John 16:33 and finally, 2nd Corinthians 4:8-9
OK Solberg:Well, that flat tire helped me in many ways. I learned to trust in him, and that donut did get me home.
OK Solberg:I went to the pit crew to get some new tires, and I saw this sign in their office just this morning. I like it a lot. Pay close attention. Heading. We do three types of jobs here.
OK Solberg:Got it? You may choose two. If it's good and cheap, it will not be fast. If it's good and fast, it will not be cheap. And if it's fast and cheap, it will not be good.
OK Solberg:I like that very much. I'm glad I had a flat tire so I could see that. It's food for thought.
OK Solberg:So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
