So everyone knows about Florence Nightingale as the founder of Modern Nursing. Florence Nightingale, many know for her work in the Crimean War, where she was able to really look at sanitation, cleanliness, and being helpful for healing soldiers, as well as having recreation. The World Health Organization has designated 2020 as the year of the nurse and the midwife, and there are celebrations going on internationally. 2020 was chosen because Florence Nightingale wrote in her journal that she estimated it would take at least 150 years for nursing to be the full implement of her vision, and that year turns out to be 2020.
