Hi, it's Sarah Schultz from Schultz Realty, and today I wanna talk about something a little different. If you know me, you probably know I'm a big believer in mindset and manifesting. In fact, it's one of the reasons I wrote my book that I released recently online called Craft a Better Mind. But what does manifesting actually have to do with real estate?
It's probably more than you think. I've been in real estate for a long time, and one thing I've learnt is that buying or selling a home is rarely just a financial transaction. There's a lot of emotion attached to it. There's fear, there's excitement, there's uncertainty, and sometimes there's a huge amount of stress I see sellers worrying before their property even goes to market.
What ifs, you know? What if nobody comes through? What if we don't get the price that we want? What if it takes too long to sell? I get it. All completely valid. But what if we can't find somewhere else to live? And buyers do exactly the same thing. What if we miss out? What if we pay too much? What if something better comes along and we're already under contract?
The thing is, is that our minds are very good at creating problems that haven't even happened yet, and that's where mindset becomes so important. So when I talk about manifesting, I'm not just talking about sitting on the couch, thinking about winning a million dollars and expecting it to drop into your lap.
That's not how I see it at all. That is something you could do if you wanted to. Technically, not on your lap, but you could bring in that if you wanted to. But manifesting is about getting really clear on what you want, believing not only that it's possible, but that it's aligning with your thoughts and actions, and that it's already here.
And action is the important part. So if you're selling a home, what do you actually want? Is it simply just the highest price possible, or is the bigger goal to move closer to family and get a really good price? Is it to downsize, have less maintenance, to buy your dream home, to have no debt, maybe no mortgage, creating a better lifestyle?
Or maybe you just wanna pack up, get in your caravan and travel, and maybe you wanna start somewhere different, a completely different country. The house sale might just be the vehicle that helps you get to your next set of goals. So rather than focusing all your energy on everything that could go wrong, start focusing on where you actually wanna end up and what you want out of the sale, and then create the plan to get there.
That's something I do for my sellers all the time. I listen. I wanna know why you're selling. It's important to me because once I understand what you actually want to achieve, then we can build a selling strategy around that goal, and I can help make those things happen. I can help look. I think the same applies to buyers.
Get clear about what matters to you. What are your non-negotiables? What do you really want to have in your dream home? What can you compromise on that you can fix later, and what lifestyle are you trying to create? Because if you don't know what you want, everybody, every property is going to become confusing.
One house has a beautiful kitchen but doesn't have the pool. The next one has the pool but hasn't got a nice kitchen. Another one's got the big block that you want, but it doesn't have side access. Another's closer to work. Suddenly you're going around in circles. Clarity changes that. And I think that applies to life as much as it does to property.
Your thoughts influence what you notice as well. So what you notice influences the decisions you make, and those decisions influence your results. That's why I believe working on your mind is one of the most powerful things that you can do. It doesn't mean pretending. We're not faking or anything like that, where you're pretending everything is wonderful when it isn't.
But it means that deciding what you want to go for, instead of constantly concentrating on where you don't want to be, or the things you don't want, otherwise they'll keep popping up. So you've got to think about the things you want in a property, making a property move, or what you want out of your sale.
Ask yourself this question, "What do I actually want my life to look like in six months from now?" Where are you living? How do you feel? What does your financial situation look like? What are you doing that you can't do today, which is causing you to move in the first place? Get really clear on that picture, and then work backwards from there.
What needs to happen to make this possible is you believing, first and foremost. And that's where manifestation becomes practical. Vision first, then action, then decisions, then believing that it's already here. And when those things start working together, you might be surprised what you can create. I'm Sarah Schultz from Schultz Realty.
