Welcome to WORDTheatre Weekly where each Saturday we share stories from our archive of live performances of the world's best short stories, recorded in LA, New York, and London, brought to life by great actors!

I’m your host, Cedering Fox, WORDTheatre Founder & Artistic Director.

Please note that WORDTheatre holds the copyright to these recordings so no portion of anything you hear may be reproduced without permission.

Today we’re diving into a story about two step sisters at odds who have never bonded or shared any common interests, except for the boy they love. Here is Ask For Pain written by Julie Orringer and performed by Halley Feiffer.

Ask For Pain plays…WE DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHTS TO PRINT THE WORDS OF THIS STORY. Doing so would violate copyright laws.

We hope you have enjoyed Ask For Pain by Julie Orringer. Julie is an amazingly talented author whose resume includes New York Times bestselling novel, The Invisible Bridge. Along with her collection of short stories, one of which was featured today, she has another novel titled, The Flight Portfolio. Thank you, Julie! And we are so grateful to Halley for sharing her talents with us here at WORDTheatre. Halley is a remarkable actor having performed on Broadway multiple times, written five full length highly acclaimed plays , and more recently was the writer for the latest season of television's acclaimed, American Horror Story.

If you are enjoying WORDTheatre® Weekly, you’ll find stories by the authors we feature on Bookshop.Org! You can find not only Julie Orringer’s work but a plethora of other authors we've featured as well. Just visit Bookshop.org/shop/wordtheatre.

Now, we have been offering stories to you every week for over three years and we hardly get any feedback. Would you please shoot an email to admin@wordtheatre.org and it would be really helpful if you'd tell your friends about us, assuming you like us, and if you'd leave us a review on Apple, Spotify or wherever you are listening!

If you are in Los Angeles on March 9th, you can join us live for a beautiful evening of Randall Kenan's stories.

And if you are in New York, we will be there with four fabulous authors – Jacqueline Woodson, David Means, Sidik Fofana and Dashiel Carrera, on March 19th. Read all about us at WORDTheatre.org.

And now some thank yous!
