109: 6 Big Business Tips For Introverts (like me)
I’ve never made any secret of the fact that I’m the world’s biggest introvert. I’m super introverted.
I know that many Soul Rich Woman entrepreneurs are introverts too. And I regularly hear women saying that they can’t build a big business “because they’re too introverted”.

Genecia Alluora: Hello, gorgeous. My name is Genecia Alluora. I'm your host for today. And in this episode, I want to share with you the 6 big business tips for introverts. Now, I've never made any secret of the fact that I'm the world's biggest introvert. Yes, really, I'm super introverted. I know that many soul rich women entrepreneurs premieres are introverts too. And I regularly hear women saying that they can't build a big business because they are too introverted. Now, I am today going to share with you tips on building a really powerful and introvert friendly business. Okay? Are you ready? Now, before we get to the tips themselves, can we bust a common myth? Being an introvert is not about lack of confidence or being shy. It's about being around people. I will drain my own energy, okay? So it means that whether being around people drains or energizes you and I totally get drained by people, by being with people. And I need a lot of time alone.

Genecia Alluora: So your personality type won't make or break your business. But here's the thing I want you introverts to know. Number one, you don't have to become an extrovert or become extroverted because I'm serious. I'm not someone who has built a million dollar business because I am introvert. Right? I really have to share with you that the key is to set up business in the way that works best for you as an introvert. And there are six different ways to do that. Okay? First is to choose a business model that works for you. Yes, if that's true, that a big reach will help. If you want to build a big business, it's not just about the numbers, but there are also tons of ways to create the reach. For example, if you love speaking, you don't try live streaming. No need to leave the house. And if making videos scares the hell out of you, make podcasts. Like what I'm doing now, even though I can do videos. But if I have a choice, I would prefer to do podcast. No need for makeup and no need to worry about other things. And if you like many introverts, you love writing.

Genecia Alluora: Don't forget the power of email and social media too. Actually, that goes the same thing. Anything in your business? If you don't love one on one coaching or one on one work, try running online group programs like or creating purely passive income products. Okay? So figure out a business model that works for you as an introvert. As always, your business, your rules. Okay? Number two is outsource and partner strategically. I'm not talking about collaboration here. Now, this tip is about having good boundaries and very crucial for introverts and partly about believing that you're allowed to spend money on making things easier for yourself. Obviously, you don't just hire team members before you are ready for them. But look at the real business cost of doing things that exhaust you make you tired or that you're not good at.

Genecia Alluora: I find that I progressed in it on doing things that drain me. So unless I'm willing to be the bottleneck in my business, I have to outsource. So like I said, start by outsourcing delegating in the areas that you are the weakest. Because this is the way, right? I am huge on delegating. I don't know why, but over the years of running Soul Rich Woman, one of my big topics I love and truly passionate talking about is delegating 80% of your to do list. Really. So for example, you can find an extrovert to hang out, hang around with at conferences so that they can introduce you to connect us or hire a part time assistant to manage your customer service. It's fine to start small, but start somewhere. The best and first thing ever I did was to outsource my business for just 5 hours a week. Because by doing that I was able to focus on my zone of genius. And really dealing with so many requests energetically overwhelmed me.

Genecia Alluora: Like all the emails, for example, doing all the interviews. If I handle all the coordinating, I'll probably die. So in just those 5 hours it saved my life and it really frees up my time and allow me to thrive as an introvert. So you need to figure out what is your worst thing or you completely hate to do and start from there. Number three, take all the downtime you need. Do you know that energy levels aren't the only difference between introverts and extroverts? Apparently introverts brains also take longer to task switch. We just tend to work better if we get some buffer time between finishing one task and starting another. Once I realized that I stopped making myself feel guilty for wanting to take time off in the middle of the day. I headed out to see a movie or just read a book in the park at east coast even though my recurring money block insisted that earning money has to be hard and that made a huge difference to my energy levels and focus for the rest of the day. Sometimes I even drive out to eat my daohui tui and my yu tiao. And seriously, you are the boss.

Genecia Alluora: Give yourself some time off to reenergize and you will honestly see your productivity rise. So don't assume that you do online or you want passive income. You have to die. Dive in from the computer for 18 hours. You don't have to. Okay? You can take in between in order to be more productive. Number four, batch, batch, batch and automate. Okay, batching and automation. This is like my thing. I love talking about this also. Oh my god. As an introvert, I definitely have days where I just want to hide from the world and social media and that is why I delegate everything out. Now my social media I only do like when people talk to me. I will respond. And everything else is handled by my team because I just can't manage everything myself. And I have others where I feel like I don't have anything to say.

Genecia Alluora: Yes, that's me. I'm an introvert. In fact, I've had weeks where I just wanted to do nothing but watch TV, watch Netflix and chill. Yeah, it's so tempting to only work on your business when you feel like it. But truth is, my dear, if you do that, you won't have actually have a business. So set up systems that allow you to automate as many tasks as possible. Like example sales, follow up sequence or social media posting. And where that's not possible, like writing blog post or doing a podcast or writing a book, aim to batch your task. Batching, batching, batching. I often make my podcast months in advance so I don't have to stress if I don't feel like getting in front of the microphone for a while, or my videos, I don't feel like getting in front of the camera for a while. I just batch all my videos or I batch my podcast if I don't feel like getting in front of the mic for a while. So that's how I do it. The idea is to make sure your business keeps working even when you're feeling particularly introverted.

Genecia Alluora: Number five, don't allow yourself to hide away. Now, online businesses can be awesome for introverts, but they can also be very isolating. And that's not good for you or your business. Personally, I can stay at home without leaving the house for days at a time. Really. I can just stay at home and don't go out unless I make a real effort. But I always feel better after I do. Introverts can often hide away their best talents. For example, a while ago, you probably can find my sales page to my Soul Rich Woman Blueprint Course without really searching for it, right? But now it's on my navigation bar now. But and make my customers work for eight ages, which really let's face it, it's really silly. Remember to balance the time you spend working on your business with interactions that allow you to make offers and create leverage.

So interact in ways that work for you as a human being, as an introvert, okay? Like via email, social media, group groups, but make sure that you do actually interact with the rest of the human race. Number six, get over your resistance to passive income. Now, passive income is a dream model for introverts. I love it so much. Seriously, you do the work once and then sell it over and over and over again without needing to leave your house. Seriously, who cares about COVID when you're making passive income, right?

Genecia Alluora: And then when people buy a product, you don't have to interact with them, really. They just buy. They just download. Of course, beyond that, sometimes customer service glitch, then you have to deal with them. That is introvert heaven when you have passive income products. So I love that. And that's why in Soul Rich Woman Blueprint, we advocate for that. We want you to create your own passive income, and you'll find yourself resisting marketing or even creating a passive income product because you find it difficult or even doing podcasting, this will sell for you, and this becomes an advertisement without you even selling for you at all. It's like a salesman without you paying for one, right? So the thing is this.

Genecia Alluora: Trust me. All I can say is trust me. I don't know how else to say it, but trust me, it will make a huge difference to your business if you don't rely on your personal energy to make money each month. All right? So chart your business path of least resistance. In short, building a big business as an introvert really is just about setting things up that work best for you. And that's why I hire people. I built my team because I want to build a business with least resistance and not becoming the bottleneck of my own business. All right? So it's also about giving yourself permission to follow the path of least resistance. Okay?
