what is going on everybody we are live

in san jose in a best western plus

hanging out i wanted to get on and

do a quick impromptu uh show uh just

to kind of talk about what i've seen

so far um which i'll be honest i

was on a plane a lot yesterday where

the wi-fi

did not really keep me up to date

with a lot of the stuff going on

so then i got here and tried to

take in as much content as i possibly

could for the day um and so i

got through some stuff but not all the

stuff so i don't know anyway i want

to start with

don't know i'll start with the individual

event i watched i did not see any

of it in person my photographer ishmael

was out at morgan hill he got some

great photos which you can see on our

instagram page he was out there all day

he's still editing today trying to get

through as much as he can some great

bike pictures are up there he got some

good pictures of the first event

They're up on our socials as well.

I want to give a huge shout out

to Holly Dugan, our stats and info person.

She's got all the schedules out.

She's got all the standings out from the

masters and the individuals.

So huge shout out to her.

last night or yesterday i got in because

i left my house at like four thirty

in the morning and i got and that

was eastern time and i got here uh

probably one o'clock one o'clockish

something like that um i went got to

the hotel dropped some stuff off finally

got some food for the first time during

the day went over to um

went over to the master's venue,

hung out there all day.

It looks really cool in there.

We've been dogging on them about making it

feel special.

And the vendor village was really nice.

You had to walk through vendor village to

get into the venue.

You even had to kind of walk through

a little bit of athlete village to get

into the venue.

But that's where everything kind of died

for me because if you've watched any of

the Masters games on the stream,

they're running the men and the women at

the very same time.

And as I was trying to fly in

and watch a little bit of Jamie and

Carolyn and other friends I have,

it was really,

really difficult because they would bounce

back and forth between the two.

The reality is,

even if you're in the venue,

you cannot focus on both.

It is truly impossible to focus on both

floors.

The races are amazing.

The fitness of these men and women are

unreal.

There's been some really awesome finishes.

But you could only watch one side or

the other.

My mind can't watch two sides at the

same time.

And in the thirty five to thirty nine,

you have Carolyn Prevost and Mackenzie

Riley, both multiple time games,

athletes going toe to toe,

throwing jab after jab.

And and I think a lot of that's

getting lost because on the other side of

the venue,

you have Noah Olson and Scott Pancheck and

Travis Mayer.

And so it's impossible to watch both of

those heats at the same time,

which is really, really disappointing.

Here you are trying to highlight your

event and just a simple schedule change of

not making the final heats go at the

same time could have solved a lot of

this.

You still broadcast both.

You still run both for the other heats

so that family members and friends can see

and do all that kind of stuff.

And if someone comes out of nowhere to

jump from those early heats up, they can.

But just don't put the main heats up

against each other.

It'd be like taking a network,

taking their best two TV shows and putting

them on at the exact same time.

You're just splitting the crowd.

And so it's really almost impossible to

watch one or the other.

And it's just been really difficult.

I haven't got to see any really of

Noah and Travis and Scott because I've

been focused on Carolyn.

And so it's disappointing for me because I

wanted to see that race in the thirty

five to thirty nine men.

You have these athletes from yesteryear

that we all know and we all cheered

for going toe to toe and I can't

even watch it.

So there's that.

The races are great.

Carolyn is killing it.

She has, I think.

A twenty-ish point lead going into the

final day with two events to go over

McKenzie Riley.

But the last event last night,

they both dove over the finish line at

the exact same time.

I still,

I haven't even checked the leaderboard.

I don't even know who won that event.

It was wild.

It was wild.

But the venue's really nice.

The setup's really nice.

There's bleachers.

What I will say is the vibe in

the building is pretty awesome.

While the stands are not completely full,

it shuffles in and out depending on the

age group.

And most of the fans there are family

members and gym goers,

way more community event.

And so when your person's out there,

there are these little pockets of insane

fandom

Uh, that happened throughout the day.

Um, and it,

and it comes and goes like your guys

done,

then you move off the spectator area and

another group come in and they root for

their person.

It is, um, it, it,

that part of it is really, really cool.

Um,

I got to sit with Larry young and

Shelly young yesterday for some time,

talk to them.

I ran into Shanna Bunce.

She regretfully had to withdraw.

I will get into that in a second.

Of course, I ran into Carolyn and Jamie.

I ran into Claire Bays,

ran into Brandon Luckett,

a lot of people at the Masters event.

And

got got to see lito um got to

talk to her for a little bit um

lito's doing it crushing it she's top ten

um so yeah really the the bad thing

is the two things that i just hate

is that both are going at the same

time and that

the events are things you would see at

a local local throwdown a local yokel

throughout the throwdown um the races are

still good because these are the best in

the world at what they do and um

and so it's still been a fun watch

i just wish they got to play with

some like cooler tools

um i have not seen ken walters yet

i did not get out to morgan hill

i only had one media credential for morgan

hill i gave that to ishmael uh he

captures if you want to see her pictures

um go go check those out he did

an awesome job really total yeah train

local yokel um

Vicky, thank you.

Marissa first, Mackenzie second,

Carolyn third on the thruster workout.

You could not tell in the venue who

won.

It was pure insanity how close those three

women were.

Carolyn got no rep on one of her

thrusters on the final round,

or it could have been different.

But what a wild finish.

So crazy.

It had to be less than a second.

Masters did start outside train.

But then they've been inside the rest of

the event.

So, friends of the show,

Lito's doing great.

Shanna had to withdraw.

Trying to think what else.

Rudy Berger's crushing it on his.

Jamie got hurt, just so you guys,

I don't know how much she's put out.

I think she put out a story yesterday.

On the opening run with the med ball,

they had men and women go at the

same time.

And she was coming in on the final

lap.

And two of the men were kind of

like pinching her off because there wasn't

a lot of room and she got pushed

to the outside because she couldn't see

with the med ball on her shoulder.

She ran into a lamp post and it

cut her open pretty good.

Yeah, Jamie posted a picture.

Thank you, Pastor Craig.

And she finished.

I wasn't here.

Her co-owner of her gym said she came

in covered in blood.

The cut's pretty bad.

Thankfully, Shanna's here.

Shanna's an MD.

Shanna's super glued it up.

And she's still trying to get through

everything.

but she's definitely limited in what she

can do.

Um,

that first event was pretty dangerous for

the women.

They, I think like women got hurt.

That's the, what I'm hearing, uh,

from people behind the scenes, um,

that running with the med ball did not

go well.

It took out Shanna.

It took, she almost took Jamie out,

but she's still there.

Um,

It's we called that out last week that

that was not a good idea to run

with a med ball at the CrossFit Games.

And it played out just as we feared.

So.

I don't know.

Train has run into a telephone pole when

I was a kid before and jacked my

neck up for years.

Yeah.

Well, she was running with her elbow out,

right?

So the elbow's out because she's holding

the ball.

She can't see.

And then ran, bam.

And so the cut's like down her arm.

Yeah.

But she's, I mean, she's Jamie.

She's still going to go out there and

do her best.

Yeah.

Yeah.

As for the individual athletes,

the open division,

I've caught up on most everything that I

can through the stream.

Man, carnage day one.

Carnage day one.

Yeah, I saw a train.

I saw all the bike accidents.

Saw people get carried off from the swim.

Saw Lexus Raptors fall down a hill.

Wow, what carnage, man.

What I'll say about the stream is,

from Masters and Elites, like,

can you show the heat number and the

right age group if you're in Masters to

know where we are in day?

Running clock was in and out on the

Masters stream.

I think it was running pretty well on

the Elite individuals.

But man, they missed finishes on the run.

They're back to those like single shots of

athletes where you can't see what's going

on in the race.

All you can see is one person running

down a hill.

Two people were racing to the finish and

the camera went up the hill to catch

someone just coming down.

I was so pissed off when that happened.

Like, I want to see who finishes first.

I like that we don't have information on

the screen.

It's like being at a box and not

knowing who is who.

That's right, Jake.

You got it.

It's early form of getting you ready for

your dementia later in life.

It is a comedy of errors.

My friend Abby,

she's apparently from Italy and never left

America.

So that's interesting.

I hope it gets better when they go

inside the arena.

But I guess a lot of it's outside,

Helson.

They're doing a lot out there in that

park.

on Barack Obama so it's going to be

a little bit of that I did not

follow with the live stream chat I know

I heard about the girlfriend of the drone

operator basically telling everybody what

went wrong and why it went wrong and

her trying to defend her boyfriend and

and so i did see that what a

wild concept man uh jabs has been fired

says yawn um yeah nothing like someone out

there telling you all the secrets of why

everything is a show live on a chat

uh

I had a mini episode of Cops on

Barbell Spins livestream.

I heard about that.

I was talking to Larry and Shelly Young,

John's parents, yesterday.

Shelly came down to get her DoorDash while

that was all going on.

So, crazy.

Tessa, all negative.

I've had some positive experiences at the

Masters.

Now,

I've been secluded over there with the

Masters because I don't have,

I only have one credential to get around

to the outdoor events.

And I gave that to my photographer to

make sure we could get some good shots.

So.

But the races have been fun to watch

at the Masters.

Carolyn is doing so good,

and her and Mackenzie are just throwing

jabs at each other.

And Marissa's in there trying like hell as

well.

It's crazy.

So that's been really fun to watch.

The Masters athletes, like,

I posted on my story yesterday,

the

depth was better than the elite athletes.

Seventy plus.

Seventy plus.

Those are the things we need to be

highlighting.

My God, like, at seventy plus,

they're still out there doing their thing.

It was so fun to watch.

I don't know.

We'll see.

We'll see what happens today.

After six plus hours on a plane yesterday

and sitting on metal bleachers at the

Masters games,

my back locked up overnight.

So I'm trying to get it loosened up

enough to get over there to at least

see the finish of the day.

They're going to start here in about

twelve, eleven minutes, maybe.

Twelve minutes with the DT,

and it's only the two younger age groups.

The thirty five to thirty nine and forty

to forty four will be doing a form

of DT in ten minutes.

So if you want, go check that out.

If you have your flow subscription,

you can do that.

Should be an interesting and fun watch,

but you'll have to pick one side or

the other.

Train Olive, honestly,

I've never been more invested in Masters

as this year.

A large part is thanks to Clydesdale.

Well, thank you.

I hope you brought muscle relaxers.

I so wish, Jody.

I so wish.

I've been laying with a Theragun on my

back for about an hour,

just trying to figure that out.

Opening ceremony should be cool.

That's tomorrow morning.

I should be in the arena for that.

So I have more to say on those

things.

Tonight is the block party and hopefully

my brush with Tyson Bajent and getting an

autograph from him or I got my Bears

hat with me for him to sign.

Hoping for that later tonight.

Jamie wants to go over to that,

so I think we'll do that sometime this

evening.

I'm going to try to get on tonight,

but if it's like last night where I

didn't even get back to the hotel till

nine Pacific,

I'll probably just do an early morning one

again tomorrow before all the action gets

started.

Because this seems a lot easier.

I've been up for a while now because

I'm still on East Coast time.

So, yeah,

today was breakfast with the Clydesdale.

I've run into a lot of people that

listen to the show.

I will say that I'm going to leave

you guys with this story.

I'm sitting at the Masters Games and a

guy comes up to me and shakes my

hand and just said,

I want to tell you,

I listen to your podcast every day on

the way home from work.

And I listen to it on Spotify.

and I listen to you and Corey every

single day.

It's what gets me home in the afternoon.

But I then watched you on YouTube and

I was shocked when I found out that

Corey wasn't Black.

That guy couldn't have made my day any

more than he did with that comment.

I have laughed about that all night and

through today.

He's not black.

Oh, you guys are the best.

You guys are the best.

Yeah, he's decent.

He is.

The guy then was,

I think he was like, well,

should I have said that?

And then he, you know,

with the Cajun accent and the Southern

draw and all that, I just,

by just listening, I thought,

I just thought that he was black.

So anyway, is this true?

Oh, anyway.

Sorry about the low...

Vindicate says I'm streaming from a

potato.

I'm in hotel wifi hell.

At the Best Western Plus in Alameda.

Avera,

do you have behind the scenes access for

individuals over the weekend?

It's tricky, Avera.

We have one lanyard,

and we have to rotate it between me

and my photographer.

So only one of us can possess it

at a time.

We do have access, I think,

to the warm-up area, the corrals.

We have access to two small pits at

the finish line.

And then we both have a band to

get us in and into seats in the

arena,

but we have to pass the lanyard back

and forth, which I get.

I like the fact that they're kind of

reducing the numbers down a little bit.

So it's not like everybody's just all over

the athletes while they're getting ready

to go out on the floor.

So I'm cool with that.

Vindicate says Corey's told me he is

black, but it's from the waist down.

I'm not sure why he needed to tell

me that.

Anyway, with that, guys, it's been real.

I just want to do a quick catch

up today.

Today,

hopefully I can catch up on everything as

the elite individuals are not going today.

So finish up with the Masters.

We got the block party.

And then tomorrow,

hopefully we can hit the ground running.

I did see,

I think it was Hexy Lover maybe,

asked if I was going to do Clydesdale

interviews.

I'm going to try to.

It was so loud in the venue yesterday.

I'd have to do it outside the venue

or not outside the venue,

but outside the area where they're

cranking music.

The best thing about Masters CrossFit

Games is you get to see people recording

where people,

their friends working out with their

iPads,

which I never see at a regular CrossFit

event.

And that it's the only place I've ever

heard a James Brown Led Zeppelin mashup.

So that should be fun.

At least the music is cool.

His knees were quite ashy,

if I remember correctly.

I'll podcast with Carolyn and Jamie

tonight for Masters Recap.

I will try.

jamie with her injury is um i just

don't know where she's at with all this

um carolyn's in good spirits because she's

in the first place um but we'll see

how it goes today and then i can

i don't want to like take their their

mind off of what they're doing i want

them to go do their thing and then

um and then we'll talk about it when

it's all done so um

My eyes are getting bad.

I might have to start using my iPad

for content.

I'm with you.

I'm going without glasses today and I'm

still able to read.

The crazy thing about California where one

last little thing is my allergies are

gone.

It's been awesome.

I can breathe so easily here.

It is amazing.

Amazing.

I may have to move to California,

but the taxes are way too high.

What did Jamie injure?

Because you were late to the party, dude.

We talked about it.

She got hurt on the first event running

with the wall ball.

Two men were with her at the same

time because they ran the men and the

women at the same time.

She got pinched a little bit and she

couldn't see to her right.

And so because she was holding the wall

ball like this.

And so she got pinched to the side

and she ran into a lamppost.

And it cut open her arm really bad.

And thankfully for Shanna Bunce,

who is in our chat all the time

and was competing in the sixty to sixty

five and is an M.D.,

she super glued her shut.

so she's trying to compete jamie's trying

to finish the weekend but she is

definitely at limited capacity uh with

that gash on her arm for sure but

she's about to go in the next i

think her heat is at eight twelve local

time so eleven twelve eastern uh first

heat is at eight she's in the second

heat

And she's really working her way up the

leaderboard.

She'd fallen all the way to sixteenth.

Last I checked, she was about eleventh.

But I didn't see anything after the last

event.

I was so tired last night.

My head hit the pillow and I was

out like a...

Did it leave a mark on them beautiful

arms?

There's a mark there now.

I don't know if it's staying forever,

but it's a pretty good gash.

Vindicate,

I didn't even realize Jamie was competing

this weekend.

She just competed in podium last weekend

in Michigan.

Beast.

She won Fresh Coast with her team last

week, Vindicate.

And, yeah,

she was bored getting ready for the games.

And she was also upset that they only

got six or seven events here at the

games.

So she wanted to up her volume to

make sure she got enough in.

I'm not saying I believe in everything

that she says, but that is her belief.

And that's, that's who Jamie is.

All right, guys, I'm going to hop on.

I'm going to hop off this.

I'm going to hop over to flow to

watch the, the,

The event that only two age groups get

to do, that's the DT event.

It starts in one minute.

So with that,

hope everybody has a great day.

We'll check in either tonight or tomorrow

morning with more information live from

San Jose.

Hope everybody has a great day and we'll

see you then.

You wouldn't wait to get to the editing

room to jazz me up.

I'm already jazzy.
