The family of Ashley Flynn is remembering the slain Ohio mother of two as a woman who "loved Jesus with her whole heart," after a jury found her husband, former worship leader and "American Idol" contestant Caleb Flynn, guilty of her February murder. Jurors deliberated just two hours. The trial included testimony from his former mistress, Alleigha Botner, who read messages in which Flynn allegedly said he wanted to kill his wife and "not go to Hell for it." In a statement read by prosecutor Paul Watkins, the family said, "Ashley's life will not be defined by the way it ended." Caleb's mother, Kim Flynn, called the evidence "circumstantial junk," insisting, "He's innocent." Defense attorney Patrick Mulligan plans an appeal. Sentencing is set for Monday.

A Pennsylvania school system is reversing a policy that kept parents in the dark about their children's gender transitions at school. Alliance Defending Freedom announced Monday that the Chester County Intermediate Unit agreed to rescind Policy 103.2 after ADF and the Independence Law Center sent a demand letter in May on behalf of a client connected to Brandywine Virtual Academy. The policy barred staff from revealing a student's transgender status to parents without the student's consent and required staff to use preferred names and pronouns. According to ADF, the district also kept a database tracking which parents knew. ADF Senior Counsel Tyson Langhofer said, "Schools must cease participating in this dangerous experimentation on kids." The reversal follows the Supreme Court's March ruling in *Mirabelli v. Bonta* against a similar California policy.

Creationism evangelist Kent Hovind, known as "Dr. Dino," is calling for the abolition of America's prison system in favor of what he calls biblical punishments. In a resurfaced January episode of the "Strength for Life" podcast with Pastor James C. Johnson, the 73-year-old declared, "We shouldn't have prisons at all. Under God's law, you fine them, beat them or kill them." Hovind, who served nearly nine years in federal prison on tax-related convictions, called the system costly, corrupt and "modern-day slavery." He said that when he surveyed about 1,000 fellow inmates, all but one said they would choose 20 lashes over five years behind bars. A spokesperson said Hovind "does not have the time" to respond to requests for clarification.

A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit against the Anglican Church in North America by a breakaway chaplains group. On Monday, U.S. District Judge Bruce Hendricks in Charleston, South Carolina, dismissed the case brought by leaders of the Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy, citing the church autonomy doctrine. Hendricks wrote that ruling on the claims would force the court "to wade into these ecclesiastical disputes," which "would run afoul of the First Amendment." The group moved to cut ties last September over ACNA's treatment of Bishop Derek Jones, whom it called the victim of "a targeted attack" by Archbishop Steven Wood. ACNA, which accused Jones of abusing ecclesiastical power, refused to recognize the split. Last week, it deposed Jones after a church court found him guilty of four canon law violations.

Israel is treating a midair emergency aboard a flydubai flight as a suspected terror attack. The Boeing 737 MAX, flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv with about 180 passengers, broadcast an emergency code Wednesday and plunged roughly 14,000 feet in one minute before landing safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Israeli officials say evidence suggests a pilot, reportedly of Omani origin, stabbed his colleague while trying to seize the aircraft. Israeli passengers subdued him, an off-duty crew helped land the plane, and an Israeli dentist aboard reportedly saved the wounded pilot's life. A senior official told Channel 12 that "the most severe disaster was prevented." Another official warned, "If it turns out that Iran is behind the incident, it will pay dearly for it." Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is monitoring developments.

Texas Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico faces accusations that he trivialized the deity of Jesus Christ after a 2019 sermon resurfaced online ahead of the November 3rd election. The Lone Star Liberty PAC, which supports Republican Ken Paxton, released a clip from Talarico's sermon at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Austin. In it, he lists Buddha, Muhammad, Gandhi, Mr. Rogers and others as "prophetic voices." Talarico told the congregation, "Christianity, like all religions, is trying to help us understand what it means to be human," adding, "Jesus is the prophetic voice in my own life." The sermon also contrasted Jesus with President Donald Trump, calling Jesus "the clearest anti-Trump we have." Despite the controversy, the RealClearPolitics polling average shows Talarico leading Paxton 47.6 percent to 44.7 percent.

Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla and Life.Church pastor Craig Groeschel are following Tim Tebow in cutting ties with Life Surge, a touring Christian wealth-building seminar accused of pressuring attendees into buying costly real estate and stock courses. Some participants say the company left them in debt, and one Better Business Bureau complaint calls it a "scam." Mazzulla canceled an October appearance in Hartford, saying, "I just completely backed out of it." Groeschel has dropped his fall speaking commitments, and Tebow is "pausing" the relationship, calling the allegations "extremely, extremely serious." Life Surge CEO Jeremy Nosek disputes the claims, declaring, "We will not apologize for who we are, what we believe, or the work we do."
