Dave [0:01:27]: Like this one, and in person coming up a drive twenty twenty six in September, but We do these these are called X Exit Five live.
Dave [0:01:34]: We do them twice a month, and we do them because man, I am tired of listening to cloud, no disrespect to cloud if you're listening.
Dave [0:01:40]: Give me, like, advice about marketing because I think there's a huge gap and what we're seeing from our community.
Dave [0:01:45]: There's a huge gap from what people are actually doing versus what the Ai thought leader is writing about on Linkedin.
Dave [0:01:51]: So people doing the actual work inside of real companies.
Dave [0:01:53]: That's our job here at x five to bring you those stories.
Dave [0:01:57]: And that's what we do.

Dave [0:02:42]: How am Doing?
Dave [0:02:43]: Dash, what do you think?
Dave [0:02:44]: I miss anything.
Dasha [0:02:46]: I think the only thing is if it sounds intense, it's because it is.
Dasha [0:02:49]: And everyone is gonna be bringing their a game.
Dasha [0:02:51]: I sat in on the prep.
Dasha [0:02:52]: It's amazing.
Dasha [0:02:53]: You should stand till the end.
Dasha [0:02:54]: That's my plug.
Dave [0:02:55]: Alright.
Dave [0:02:55]: So stay until the end because we want you to vote.

Dave [0:03:12]: This is the real big one feature in our newsletter which comes out every week talking about your play that you ran here live on this session.
Dave [0:03:21]: So I think we've hit on all the stuff today What's fun is I don't have a sponsor for this.
Dave [0:03:27]: This is where I usually do a sponsor read.
Dave [0:03:28]: So today's sponsor is exitfive.com/drive.
Dave [0:03:31]: If you're not, don't have a ticket to our event, which is coming up in something like Dan said forty, five, forty six days.
Dave [0:03:37]: Go do that exitfive.com/drive.
Dave [0:03:39]: Otherwise, We got some time back.
Dave [0:03:40]: Marissa backstage, producer Marissa.
Dave [0:03:42]: I'm ready.
Dave [0:03:43]: If you're ready.
Dave [0:03:44]: We got a little bit of buffer, Brendan Hu our first guy up.
Dave [0:03:47]: He's the founder of Gross Sprints.
Dave [0:03:49]: You may have seen him at Drive.
Dave [0:03:50]: He's got a bunch of Lincoln followers, a really thoughtful dude on marketing.
Dave [0:03:54]: Let's pop it off.
Dave [0:03:55]: I'm ready.
Brendan [0:03:56]: We get it.
Brendan [0:03:56]: Let's go.
Dave [0:03:58]: Alright.
Dave [0:03:58]: Here we go.
Dave [0:03:58]: You'll see the timer Marissa is gonna put the timer up, and then you're...
Dave [0:04:01]: We're off to the races here.
Dave [0:04:03]: Here we go.
Dave [0:04:04]: Two minutes is on the clock.
Dave [0:04:05]: Ship it.
Brendan [0:04:07]: Hey.
Brendan [0:04:07]: Real quick.
Brendan [0:04:08]: Before we talk about these three hidden nets that print money, who loves money in a def defense career, all of us?
Brendan [0:04:13]: Great.
Brendan [0:04:13]: I do.
Brendan [0:04:14]: For sure.
Brendan [0:04:15]: So usually, in a content strategy that I would give to a client or anybody else.
Brendan [0:04:20]: I would tell him to name the problem, building these discovery loops show up where people are searching, show up on the feeds that matter, build relationships over time.
Brendan [0:04:28]: Fun fact.
Brendan [0:04:29]: We're not talking about any of this today.
Brendan [0:04:30]: We're talking about the thing I do before I do this stuff.
Brendan [0:04:33]: I've been running this play for years, it works every single time.
Brendan [0:04:38]: Because if you're like me, you want two things.
Brendan [0:04:40]: Right?
Brendan [0:04:40]: You wanna have impact in your career, you also wanna do work that you're proud of, but this is hard.
Brendan [0:04:45]: We are burned out more burned out than ever.
Brendan [0:04:47]: And it's confusing.
Brendan [0:04:49]: You end up doing something like this where it's like, I don't know, just publish, like, twenty blogs a week, like, figure it out just more checkbox marketing.
Brendan [0:04:55]: Absolutely not not today.
Brendan [0:04:57]: Because the advice you're gonna get is, like, just talk to your customers.
Brendan [0:04:59]: And I think that's easy and it is the right advice.
Brendan [0:05:02]: Some people are doing everything they can not to talk.
Brendan [0:05:04]: They're making chat Gp pretend to be their customer.
Brendan [0:05:07]: But some of us, and if you've ever been in a really big company, You know this is true.
Brendan [0:05:11]: You try to talk to customers.
Brendan [0:05:12]: You run into this.
Brendan [0:05:13]: Hey.
Brendan [0:05:13]: We already send them too many emails.
Brendan [0:05:15]: We don't wanna bother them.
Brendan [0:05:16]: Sales zones that relationship.
Brendan [0:05:17]: Legal has to review it first.
Brendan [0:05:19]: We already have n mps data.
Brendan [0:05:21]: Can't we just use that?
Brendan [0:05:22]: We talked to them last year.
Brendan [0:05:23]: Basically, it's the eye love lamp version of marketing, and this is me saying, stop it because your customers are also on forty million calls with your team every single week.
Brendan [0:05:36]: So yes, talk to customers with the play I wanna share with you today is what I call the three s strategy.
Brendan [0:05:42]: These three s, sales success and support.
Brendan [0:05:46]: I work mostly in B2B tech, but this works in other B2B businesses as well.
Brendan [0:05:51]: I am going to share with you step by step exactly how I do this?
Brendan [0:05:54]: Who do I talk to.
Brendan [0:05:55]: What do I say to them?
Brendan [0:05:56]: The exact questions you can steal them and swipe them for yourself.
Brendan [0:05:59]: This stuff crush for Ai search.
Brendan [0:06:02]: It absolutely crush for traditional Google search.
Brendan [0:06:06]: And if you bring new back for round two, I'll share all of it with you.
Dave [0:06:10]: Alright done.
Dave [0:06:11]: Make some notes now.
Dave [0:06:12]: And because what you and me we'll do after is we're gonna bring all four people from round one up.
Dave [0:06:17]: While we run the poll, we'll have...
Dave [0:06:19]: I think we're gonna have some time to ask questions.
Dave [0:06:20]: Right?
Dave [0:06:21]: And my team.
Dave [0:06:22]: Got check me on the chat.
Dave [0:06:23]: We did that last time.
Dave [0:06:24]: I thought that was useful if we have time to do that where we can have everybody come up ask couple more questions that was really great.
Dave [0:06:29]: Alright.
Dave [0:06:30]: Molly, is this your pickle ball partner, by the way?
Dave [0:06:32]: Is there bias here?
Dave [0:06:33]: Are you...
Dasha [0:06:35]: At at Drive, and we played Pickle ball together.
Molly [0:06:39]: Okay.
Molly [0:06:39]: I think we won.
Molly [0:06:40]: So...
Dave [0:06:42]: You think Might be dumb.
Dave [0:06:43]: Yeah.
Dave [0:06:44]: Alright, Molly.
Dave [0:06:46]: You're up.
Dave [0:06:46]: So I'll set it off.
Molly [0:06:48]: Super excited.
Molly [0:06:48]: Hi.
Molly [0:06:49]: I'm Molly.
Molly [0:06:49]: I'm the content marketing manager at customer Io.
Molly [0:06:51]: I'm gonna run through or play that help us boost Ai ar visibility thirty percent year over year by updating existing content.
Molly [0:06:57]: So a year ago, Ai Mentioned us in one of every twelve conversations about marketing automation platforms.
Molly [0:07:02]: Today, we're mentioned in one of every three.
Molly [0:07:05]: Our visibility score increased by thirty percent.
Molly [0:07:07]: And when our audience is searching for alternatives to our competitors.
Molly [0:07:10]: Were the number one most recommended brand by Ai platforms.
Molly [0:07:13]: New content has helped with our success here, but optimizing existing content was just as important.
Molly [0:07:18]: So Ai prioritizes content that has been updated in the last six months and bots for a specific format when they're looking for information.
Molly [0:07:25]: So you'll see on the left, there's a more traditionally formatted blog post, big block of text, non optimized h two's and outdated stats.
Molly [0:07:32]: On the right, you'll see an optimized blog that has h two's that tie back to our key prompts.
Molly [0:07:37]: Content that's laid out for bots to read easily and up to date citations, messaging and features we've in.
Molly [0:07:43]: To update our existing pages, we will upload a copy of the metadata and the copy into the skill claude, and they get all of recommended edits to boost our Ai visibility.
Molly [0:07:52]: Those edits often include adding in the Tl and Faq section, updating our h two's and h threes, adding new credible articles to replace outdated stats, removing huge blocks of text, adding in more charts, bullets and descriptive developments to you.
Molly [0:08:06]: And these updates also make our pages better for Humans, which is our primary goal.
Molly [0:08:11]: So here's an example of the impact, we optimize this page in early twenty twenty six, and it's now in the one hun...
Molly [0:08:17]: Percentile for citations.
Molly [0:08:18]: This page has gained eleven thousand citations in the last five months.
Molly [0:08:21]: And our active users on this page are up a hundred and four percent since we made the updates.
Molly [0:08:26]: You can screenshot this slide.
Molly [0:08:27]: This has an overview for getting started with your own optimizations, or you can put me a back up for round two, and I'll show you exactly how this still works, and I'll give you a copy of the skill to customize for your own company with ten seconds just there.
Dave [0:08:39]: Yeah.
Dave [0:08:39]: That was great.
Dave [0:08:40]: Great delivery.
Dave [0:08:41]: Awesome delivery.
Dave [0:08:42]: The receipts.
Dave [0:08:42]: She had the receipts.
Dave [0:08:44]: You.
Molly [0:08:46]: Thank you.
Molly [0:08:46]: Thank you.
Dave [0:08:47]: Alright.
Dave [0:08:47]: Good job, Molly.
Dave [0:08:48]: Austin Fuller, Austin is head of global product marketing at exeter, and we're gonna hear about product led, content.
Dave [0:08:55]: Let's go Austin, lock in.
Austin [0:08:58]: Alright.
Austin [0:08:58]: Thanks, Dave.
Austin [0:08:58]: As you said, I'm austin Fuller, I lead product marketing here at Accenture.
Austin [0:09:02]: And I'm gonna share with you how product like content had ten extra engagement and send our CEO to testify for of congress.
Austin [0:09:07]: Just housekeeping my opinions my own doesn't reflect of the department of defense or anyone else in the federal government.
Austin [0:09:13]: For a context, we prevent and reduce supply chain disruptions for large enterprises and governments.
Austin [0:09:18]: We have a small pool of accounts in a very competitive market, and we need a punch above our weight.
Austin [0:09:22]: The play is incredibly simple on paper.
Austin [0:09:25]: So we use our own product as if we were a customer to create insights.
Austin [0:09:29]: We package those insights into our report, and then we distribute it to customers prospects, industry analysts media and anyone else that'll listen.
Austin [0:09:36]: For the product part, it's really important to find a job to be done for your Ic and do part or all of that job.
Austin [0:09:42]: That's how you ensure you're not promoting and that your Ic will find it valuable.
Austin [0:09:45]: For packaging the insights, I define insight as one of two things.
Austin [0:09:48]: Teach me about a problem.
Austin [0:09:49]: I don't know about, but probably should or teach me something new about a problem.
Austin [0:09:53]: I do know about.
Austin [0:09:53]: And then for distribution, it's largely un gated.
Austin [0:09:56]: We optimize for consumption.
Austin [0:09:57]: We distribute via all of our marketing channels.
Austin [0:10:00]: Sales customer success, and it feeds our industry analyst briefings for Gardner Forrest and Id.
Austin [0:10:04]: Here's the receipts.
Austin [0:10:05]: This is a picture of our CEO, brand and Daniel testifying in congress.
Austin [0:10:08]: For some of the metrics, we get four to ten times the engagement compared to any other type of content.
Austin [0:10:13]: And it's led to him millions of dollars in in a qualified pipeline.
Austin [0:10:17]: The question most people have is, I don't have really cool data like, What do I do?
Austin [0:10:22]: If you vote for me, you'll find up?
Dave [0:10:24]: Oh, what a heck?
Dave [0:10:25]: Let's go.
Dave [0:10:26]: Let's go.
Dave [0:10:27]: Good job.
Dave [0:10:28]: Dash, I got forty seconds to kill So reactions...
Dave [0:10:30]: Reaction so far.
Dave [0:10:31]: Good job Awesome.
Dave [0:10:32]: Send them out.
Dasha [0:10:33]: Reactions is amazing.
Dasha [0:10:34]: I wanna know.
Dasha [0:10:35]: Well, okay.
Dasha [0:10:36]: There...
Dasha [0:10:36]: I can't, like, ask a question yet.
Dave [0:10:38]: No you can.
Dave [0:10:39]: We don't have a question.
Dave [0:10:39]: Can Ask a question?
Dave [0:10:40]: I just...
Dave [0:10:41]: We just...
Dave [0:10:41]: I tried to give you forty seconds right there to do that, but it's okay.
Dasha [0:10:45]: We love call them.
Dasha [0:10:46]: All of these presentations are cooking.
Dave [0:10:49]: What, I
Dasha [0:10:50]: I will I say, like, don't envy meet people that have to vote.
Dave [0:10:54]: You don't.
Dave [0:10:54]: That's the easiest job sit on your couch and be a critic of someone else's work.
Dave [0:10:58]: That's like the...
Dave [0:10:58]: That's the Internet a nutshell.
Dave [0:11:00]: Alright.
Dasha [0:11:01]: The dream Holly.
Dave [0:11:02]: Oh, I'm a sucker for a good book shelf.
Dave [0:11:04]: Holly got two of them.
Dave [0:11:05]: I like that.
Dave [0:11:06]: Good backdrop shop.
Molly [0:11:08]: I do my best.
Holly [0:11:09]: Alright.
Holly [0:11:09]: Are you ready.
Dave [0:11:10]: Cooking.
Dave [0:11:10]: Yeah.
Dave [0:11:10]: Keep it going.
Holly [0:11:11]: Okay.
Holly [0:11:11]: So go back with me everybody.
Holly [0:11:13]: It's Friday in June.
Holly [0:11:15]: I've got a launch coming up on Tuesday.
Holly [0:11:17]: We've got a new product, new Ic, a whole launch is worth of content that we gotta get Qa.
Holly [0:11:21]: And we're almost at the finish line, but we gotta make sure that everything's locked in ready to go.
Holly [0:11:26]: And I know we have all been there and felt the stress a little different than maybe the stress is presenting to Congress, but no less real.
Holly [0:11:33]: And luckily for me this time around.
Holly [0:11:35]: I had an agent ready to help me review everything.
Holly [0:11:37]: So a little bit of background, markup was rebranded from Acr lengths back in September of last year.
Holly [0:11:44]: And when we rolled out the new brand, we were targeting developers.
Holly [0:11:47]: In q1, we pivoted to marketers instead.
Holly [0:11:49]: And that meant, we had a whole library of content that was technically correct, but not actually right for a new audience, and make our content work for a new Ic, we ran everything through a persona agent so that before anything publishes, we can run it against the buyer where targeting.
Holly [0:12:05]: So in our case that may be a marketer, a developer, a tech tiktok writer, and every writer on the team is using the same editing agent in order to check against the person who's actually going to read the content.
Holly [0:12:16]: So real example here, back to that June launch, our homepage had this language, Api first architecture and Mc integrations.
Holly [0:12:23]: That's great for a developer makes sense that, you know, no issues flagged.
Holly [0:12:27]: But for the marketing persona, I got a notification and the recommendation to change that to plugs into the tools you already use.
Holly [0:12:34]: It's the same feature, but written a away that actually resonates for this persona.
Holly [0:12:38]: The agent caught this across dozens of places on our web copy and in our blog post ahead of the launch, and I was able to review that list.
Holly [0:12:46]: Figure out where to make the changes and get them done in a matter of minutes rather than having to do it over that weekend ahead of the launch.
Holly [0:12:53]: And what I love most about this is it's not a wholesale swap.
Holly [0:12:56]: It's developer still matter for us in some cases.
Holly [0:12:58]: I just get to make the changes.
Holly [0:13:00]: Without having to dig through everything manually.
Holly [0:13:02]: So for your next content launch, ask yourself this one question, who is it actually for and then make sure your content actually aligns with it.
Holly [0:13:09]: And if you wanna hear about an Ai editor we have that also helps us for Ai search.
Holly [0:13:14]: If you vote me through, I can tell you how we make our content, more citation friendly.
Dasha [0:13:18]: Wow.
Dasha [0:13:18]: Beat the clock by literally one second.
Dave [0:13:22]: I'd love to see Claude try to
Dasha [0:13:23]: do that.
Dasha [0:13:23]: Claude just still has no sense of time.
Dasha [0:13:25]: I'm pretty sure.
Dave [0:13:27]: Oh, exactly right.
Dave [0:13:28]: Yes.
Dave [0:13:29]: Okay.
Dave [0:13:29]: So that's round one.
Dave [0:13:30]: Round one is a wrap.
Dave [0:13:32]: No disrespect to anyone who's I've ever done one of these with us before, but that was like the hottest four for four round one.
Dave [0:13:38]: People were so tight, prep.
Dave [0:13:40]: The chat is trick right now.
Dave [0:13:42]: Some are calling this the greatest webinar format ever invented.
Dave [0:13:44]: I I mean, that's pretty amazing.
Dave [0:13:46]: Alright.
Dave [0:13:46]: This is it.
Dave [0:13:47]: Who is going to move on to the next round.
Dave [0:13:50]: I just need confirmation from my squad real quick.
Dave [0:13:52]: Are we picking one time we had, like, a mystery person.
Dave [0:13:55]: We're doing one from me round right here.
Dave [0:13:57]: My c hosts host.
Dave [0:13:58]: Do you know the answer to that?
Dave [0:13:59]: I see our our team is furiously yeah.
Dave [0:14:02]: Alright.
Dave [0:14:03]: If you don't win Just
Dasha [0:14:05]: we pick one.
Dasha [0:14:05]: And then if it doesn't work out for them in this round.
Dasha [0:14:08]: I think they still have a chance in the second round Okay to make it into the final five.
Dave [0:14:12]: There's a mystery pick.
Dave [0:14:13]: So we do that to keep you engaged.
Dave [0:14:14]: Alright.
Dave [0:14:15]: It's the hot let, get your votes in let's go.
Dave [0:14:17]: We got one.
Dave [0:14:17]: We're gonna close the pole in a minute.
Dave [0:14:19]: It's really close Forty one percent, thirty nine percent, seven percent, thirteen percent.
Dave [0:14:25]: Are we gonna call it?
Dave [0:14:26]: Should we call it?
Dave [0:14:27]: Any more votes last time to vote, don't vote and drive at the same time, but this is it.
Dave [0:14:32]: Here we go.
Dave [0:14:33]: Austin got slept on.
Dave [0:14:34]: That's completely just the disrespect that seven percent for, like, he hit me with the a, department of defense disclaimer, and I automatically voted for him, but it's okay.
Dave [0:14:44]: Alright.
Dave [0:14:45]: Looks like Molly moving on to the next round.
Dave [0:14:47]: Give it up.
Dave [0:14:47]: Give it up for Molly.
Dave [0:14:48]: I think I think, Molly, you know, she came with the receipts on the on the Ai citations, and that...
Dave [0:14:54]: That's always gonna gonna be great.
Dave [0:14:55]: But I'm already like, how...
Dave [0:14:57]: How we get can Austin speak at drive too.
Dave [0:15:00]: I'm already messaging the team We got the whole cruise.
Dave [0:15:02]: It's really good.
Dave [0:15:02]: Okay.
Dave [0:15:03]: So hang out.
Dave [0:15:04]: We're gonna have a mystery mystery guest, a third winner.
Dave [0:15:06]: And now we're gonna roll right into round two because, you know, this isn't...
Dasha [0:15:10]: A before roll, one important announcement.
Dasha [0:15:12]: There will be a q and a inside the Exit Five community.
Dasha [0:15:15]: So if you have a lot of questions like me, you should come to the hangout.
Dasha [0:15:19]: Tank come hang out in the five community and ask your questions there.
Dave [0:15:23]: Alright.
Dave [0:15:23]: You're hired.
Dave [0:15:24]: Good job.
Dasha [0:15:26]: Alright.
Dasha [0:15:26]: Miss You some brownie points with Fun.
Dave [0:15:29]: I I was reading your Pay who your Wikipedia just this morning, Anthony, and it said you're the only person that's ever been on three of these.
Dave [0:15:35]: So that's crazy.
Dave [0:15:36]: That's crazy.
Anthony [0:15:38]: Three p three here we go here.
Dave [0:15:41]: You're up.
Dave [0:15:41]: Talk to us.
Anthony [0:15:42]: Alright.
Anthony [0:15:42]: So we're we're this, like, content day, lots of lots of Ai search optimization.
Anthony [0:15:46]: So we're talking about Ae with Linkedin content.
Anthony [0:15:49]: So anyone who's been out Linkedin, recently, you've probably seen lots of these different reports and charts Linkedin, depending on which data source you look at, Linkedin might be number two after Youtube and ahead of reddit for citations.
Anthony [0:16:01]: It might be behind Reddit and above Youtube.
Anthony [0:16:03]: Just depends on what data source you look at, let's say, hey, they're probably in the top three top five always, getting lots of citations for professional queries.
Anthony [0:16:10]: Some of this will rely on Linkedin data they say that their traffic increased by over forty percent from Ai search.
Anthony [0:16:16]: So we can assume high profile domain in Linkedin.
Anthony [0:16:19]: If you're posting on there, you're probably gonna be getting more traffic, but the question is how do you rank?
Anthony [0:16:25]: How do you get your content out there?
Anthony [0:16:26]: So we have, a personal example from the last couple weeks.
Anthony [0:16:30]: We just launched a new platform, free Linkedin ads audit dot com.
Anthony [0:16:33]: Brand new domain, brand new web app, hopes hosting and all everything here.
Anthony [0:16:37]: We got this ranked within a week.
Anthony [0:16:39]: So got it.
Anthony [0:16:40]: On Linkedin.
Anthony [0:16:41]: I'll share one specific tactic in this first round, And then in the second round, we'll go through the rest of the list of tactics that we deploy for getting content ranked in search on Chat Within a week.
Anthony [0:16:51]: We were the number one result for working and you get a free audit.
Anthony [0:16:53]: On Google Ai search.
Anthony [0:16:55]: Also, we got under the box and then on the right hand side too within a week, and then the first tactic that I'll show you is hashtags, content wise on Linkedin are kinda dead.
Anthony [0:17:06]: They don't really do a lot, but they do feed into your Url of your content and anybody that's worked in SEO or search knows how important your Url of your content is.
Anthony [0:17:17]: So hashtags are making a comeback because now, those hashtags feed the Url of your content, and that makes a big difference into what's gonna rank for a different search in L.
Anthony [0:17:27]: So if you want the rest of these Ae tactics, vote this into the next round, and we'll talk a lot more about Linkedin content.
Dave [0:17:34]: I haven't even used the buzzer ones.
Anthony [0:17:36]: I know.
Anthony [0:17:36]: I got it.
Dave [0:17:39]: I good job mister b, get out of here.
Dave [0:17:42]: Get off the stage.
Dave [0:17:43]: Jump.
Dave [0:17:44]: B2B dough with the proper plant background.
Brianna [0:17:49]: Alright.
Brianna [0:17:49]: This is the play we run for our clients all the time.
Brianna [0:17:51]: It's scaling from a small budget, Need influencer or pilot up to a full program.
Brianna [0:17:55]: So the player we're running now has generated, or generates between five hundred k and a million impressions per month.
Brianna [0:18:01]: Our greater driven trial sign ups are coming out of a forty percent lower cost per conversion than paid social.
Brianna [0:18:06]: And creator content has become one of their top three paid channels for trial sign ups.
Brianna [0:18:10]: So I always already, you don't start with the gazillion creators and four channels.
Brianna [0:18:14]: We started with the ten k a month pilot, four creators, Linkedin only three posts each one post per month.
Brianna [0:18:20]: And now it's three content tracks, which will dive into a larger crater mix, free channels and expanding to events next.
Brianna [0:18:28]: So first, we stop treating every crater the same.
Brianna [0:18:31]: We built three tracks.
Brianna [0:18:32]: It's the evergreen content for always on visibility.
Brianna [0:18:34]: Product launch content types the client's release and then U that the client can own and repurpose across paid, organic and the website.
Brianna [0:18:41]: The reason we can scale to three content tracks is because with the pilot, you start with just refining your messaging.
Brianna [0:18:45]: So who are we trying to target what messaging is resonating, what kind of content and what channels.
Brianna [0:18:51]: We validated the motion and the approach and then scaled it from there, and we're using the U kinda overhaul the dated content they've putting out themselves.
Brianna [0:18:59]: So it's ten to fifteen pieces per month.
Brianna [0:19:01]: And we're using that kinda shift their brand perception.
Brianna [0:19:03]: The next thing that I recommend doing is focusing on with any each content track, what are you trying to communicate to your audience.
Brianna [0:19:11]: So with Evergreen, how I use x platform to do x thought leadership always on with the product launch.
Brianna [0:19:17]: We activate a certain number of creators with coordinated drops, time to feature releases, and then U for testimonial videos and, like longer form product walk.
Brianna [0:19:25]: Each channel has a different role.
Brianna [0:19:28]: So Linkedin is that short form thought leadership.
Brianna [0:19:30]: It drives the awareness and credibility.
Brianna [0:19:31]: Youtube is for those longer form integrations.
Brianna [0:19:34]: The product deep dives the tutorials, and the newsletters are what land in everybody's inbox.
Brianna [0:19:38]: So they're closest to conversion.
Brianna [0:19:40]: With the creator mix, it's micro mid tier and macro.
Brianna [0:19:42]: Wouldn't vote for me if you want more.
Dave [0:19:44]: Love it.
Dave [0:19:45]: Proper.
Dasha [0:19:47]: Let's snuck it in.
Dave [0:19:48]: C.
Dave [0:19:48]: You got any comments, reactions, questions, comments, concerns?
Dasha [0:19:51]: I love the three track.
Dasha [0:19:53]: I...
Dasha [0:19:53]: Yeah.
Dasha [0:19:54]: I love that.
Dasha [0:19:55]: Because I feel like it's so obvious.
Dasha [0:19:56]: We do that across.
Dasha [0:19:57]: We don't treat social media forms the same way, so why would you treat your creators the same way or what they're posting?
Dasha [0:20:02]: That's so smart.
Dasha [0:20:03]: I love it.
Dave [0:20:04]: Alright.
Dave [0:20:04]: Let's go Jessica.
Dave [0:20:05]: What about you?
Dave [0:20:06]: I don't know.
Dave [0:20:08]: I get too many things going on right now.
Dasha [0:20:11]: I I'm just trying to keep up?
Dasha [0:20:12]: Yeah.
Dasha [0:20:13]: Jessica take it away.
Dasha [0:20:15]: Wait.
Dasha [0:20:15]: Actually, wait for the buzzer.
Dasha [0:20:16]: I don't know why I up.
Jessica [0:20:18]: Alright.
Jessica [0:20:18]: Hi, everyone.
Jessica [0:20:19]: My name is Jess.
Jessica [0:20:19]: I branded Air opt.
Jessica [0:20:21]: Today.
Jessica [0:20:21]: I'm sharing a play revolving around brand awareness centered in customer love and appreciation.
Jessica [0:20:26]: So this drove awareness for our brand as well as significant amount of marketing qualified pipeline.
Jessica [0:20:31]: This campaign started with something we kept hearing from customers.
Jessica [0:20:34]: They were winning at Ai search for their companies with Air.
Jessica [0:20:36]: And along the way, actually becoming a different kind of marketer altogether.
Jessica [0:20:41]: So more fluent, more confident navigating something moving faster than, you know, all teams could keep up with Ai.
Jessica [0:20:47]: And to us that felt, like, it was worth celebrating.
Jessica [0:20:50]: So we built this campaign to effectively celebrate them and their wins on air.
Jessica [0:20:55]: And the Olympics and the Super Bowl were running at the same time.
Jessica [0:20:59]: So winning was already in the air, which made the language feel natural instead of forced.
Jessica [0:21:04]: The creative theme throughout this entire campaign was marketing teams went here.
Jessica [0:21:09]: And what made this ultimately super successful that we actually strategically crafted three interconnected plays across various channels.
Jessica [0:21:18]: So the first is out of home campaign in San Francisco that featured several of our customer champion We then had each customer take a selfie and post on Linkedin, which we've then boosted with paid spend.
Jessica [0:21:30]: So this effectively took out of home into the digital realm.
Jessica [0:21:33]: An interactive quiz that delivered your unique market type so your marketing archetype with a digital collectible player card that you can then share on social, tag and colleagues in friends to share those two you and video creative that highlighted some of these champions a completely un unchanged approach to a testimonial storytelling, shout out to Studio Lewis Potter Lewis and his team for the partnership on the video.
Jessica [0:21:57]: If you vote for me, I will share more details on this entire campaign as well as play one of the videos.
Jessica [0:22:05]: Alright.
Jessica [0:22:06]: It's sweet.
Jessica [0:22:06]: Few few seconds left.
Jessica [0:22:07]: Talk really fast.
Dave [0:22:09]: Love it.
Dave [0:22:10]: Looks great.
Anthony [0:22:11]: I love it
Dave [0:22:12]: because I think a a lot of times when people do these.
Dave [0:22:13]: It's, like, so obviously a branded campaign, like, it looks like the brand and you led with, like, guess your logo was on there, but the...
Dave [0:22:21]: Yeah.
Dave [0:22:21]: I like the green green is money and wealth and the happiness and success.
Dave [0:22:25]: It's a good color.
Dave [0:22:25]: Alright.
Dave [0:22:26]: There he is.
Dave [0:22:27]: Are you are you awake now?
Dave [0:22:29]: Are you good?
Dave [0:22:29]: We're good?
Aditya [0:22:30]: I'm I'm awake now.
Aditya [0:22:31]: Alright.
Aditya [0:22:31]: Things got me going.
Aditya [0:22:32]: So
Dave [0:22:33]: Yeah.
Dave [0:22:33]: Alright.
Aditya [0:22:35]: Alright.
Aditya [0:22:35]: Let's go.
Aditya [0:22:36]: Let's go.
Dave [0:22:37]: Good headline.
Aditya [0:22:39]: Cool.
Aditya [0:22:39]: I'm gonna talk about today.
Aditya [0:22:40]: How we got Exit Five return on making a book for Ab, and this is actual revenue.
Aditya [0:22:46]: So jumping into it.
Aditya [0:22:47]: One of the questions we always ask is how can we build trust with our audiences and the channels they're in and talk about the problems they wanna solve and it's all comes back to distribution?
Aditya [0:22:56]: How do we basically drive more people know our brand, what we're doing, how do we accomplish that?
Aditya [0:23:00]: In a way that makes them feel like we're not selling them, but giving them the value.
Aditya [0:23:03]: So we thought of this, and this is where we decide to make a book.
Aditya [0:23:07]: Actually do this book.
Aditya [0:23:08]: You could see it here literally, and many vendors like books, who gives us shit.
Aditya [0:23:11]: It's another book.
Aditya [0:23:12]: I will move on.
Aditya [0:23:13]: But how do you make this different?
Aditya [0:23:14]: Design was the core element.
Aditya [0:23:15]: If you look at every single element in this book, it is done from first principles of what our authors care about and how people have to adopt.
Aditya [0:23:21]: And basically, if they don't, they die, and we sell the marketers.
Aditya [0:23:25]: And we did this such way eric, Immediately, you get a digital copy of the book, but you sign up for the print that comes to your house.
Aditya [0:23:30]: And the book is the start of these things.
Aditya [0:23:32]: That's where the campaign kicks off, and we ran this for about a year.
Aditya [0:23:35]: So how do we bake in distribution?
Aditya [0:23:37]: We have fourteen authors from Meta, Wealth, Hulu Gram as as well as few partners like High touch and Google Inc.
Aditya [0:23:45]: And there was fourteen channels of distribution baked in.
Aditya [0:23:47]: These people did videos.
Aditya [0:23:48]: We had a launch of event.
Aditya [0:23:49]: They showed up on day one.
Aditya [0:23:50]: And that way, we have reach baked in without having to just hit up email list or distribution or s certification.
Aditya [0:23:54]: And became a source of truth and education.
Aditya [0:23:56]: So distribution is an integrated campaign.
Aditya [0:23:58]: We used authors as channels as I mentioned and influencers and thought leaders, then we added in virtual bookstores, which were webinars that we hope is to people our authors.
Aditya [0:24:05]: As well as launch events where we did a pre launch event in New York at all the authors come in invited guests to pictures.
Aditya [0:24:11]: They sign autograph, took live pictures with it also as well for post on launch day and videos.
Aditya [0:24:15]: Sales of the channel.
Aditya [0:24:16]: They actually use the authors, and the lookalike audiences is to target people to send the book to.
Aditya [0:24:20]: And as a result, we got four thousand downloads.
Aditya [0:24:22]: Two hundred seventy target accounts came in.
Aditya [0:24:24]: And so far has generated ten point eight million revenue from those accounts.
Aditya [0:24:27]: So sixty five x increment.
Aditya [0:24:29]: The book work, but it wasn't alone.
Aditya [0:24:31]: We have another part too.
Aditya [0:24:32]: So if you were me, I'll talk to you about how we did the magazine, how that continued fueling it.
Brendan [0:24:37]: Good hook.
Dave [0:24:39]: Love that.
Dave [0:24:39]: Lot...
Dave [0:24:39]: Lot of buzz.
Dasha [0:24:40]: You know what time it is?
Dave [0:24:41]: What time is it?
Dave [0:24:42]: What time is it?
Dasha [0:24:43]: Might be poll times.
Dave [0:24:45]: Twelve twenty six.
Dave [0:24:46]: Alright.
Dave [0:24:48]: So we're back.
Dave [0:24:49]: So we got.
Dave [0:24:50]: Who is gonna join Molly.
Dave [0:24:51]: We're gonna pick one.
Dave [0:24:52]: We got one person from this, and then we also have a...
Dave [0:24:55]: We got a little wild card, Don't we.
Dave [0:24:57]: So what I've heard.
Dave [0:24:58]: Alright.
Dave [0:24:58]: Get your votes up, Richard votes.
Dave [0:25:00]: Also we need...
Dave [0:25:01]: I, we need we need music.
Dave [0:25:02]: We need a sound board?
Dave [0:25:03]: I feel like there should be some energy right now.
Dave [0:25:05]: Like, We need background music for the next iteration of this.
Dave [0:25:09]: Let's let's think about those things.
Dave [0:25:10]: Which play would you like to hear more of number one.
Dave [0:25:13]: What genre there's only...
Dave [0:25:14]: I mean, I got the genre for all moods.
Dave [0:25:17]: Matt from Canada.
Dave [0:25:18]: Matt's a big rush fans.
Dave [0:25:19]: So I was listening to rush to support him my teammate, but I'm I'm mostly a a rap hip hop R and b, Ed, dance music type of guy.
Dave [0:25:28]: So I'm the Dj you want.
Dave [0:25:29]: Okay.
Dave [0:25:30]: So Anthony Blatner..
Dave [0:25:32]: Jessica on brand awareness by design and I on sixty five x return on a book for Ab b.
Dave [0:25:38]: Physical goods.
Dave [0:25:39]: Get your votes in.
Dave [0:25:41]: Everybody's sleeping on influencer marketing right now.
Dave [0:25:44]: Good news, don't sleep on it because Will be a drive to do more on that.
Dave [0:25:49]: One more vote.
Dave [0:25:50]: Come on.
Dave [0:25:50]: Let's cap it.
Dave [0:25:51]: Here we go.
Dave [0:25:52]: Roll it.
Dave [0:25:53]: Roll it.
Dave [0:25:54]: Alright.
Dave [0:25:54]: We're calling it, Anthony.
Dave [0:25:55]: Congratulations.
Dave [0:25:56]: Congratulations.
Dave [0:25:57]: And then...
Dave [0:25:58]: So we got two...
Dave [0:25:59]: Is this true, Dash.
Dave [0:26:00]: Can you confirm this we have two wild card winners in the chat.
Dave [0:26:03]: Dan's in our chat right now.
Dasha [0:26:05]: Correct.
Dave [0:26:06]: We.
Dave [0:26:06]: Can you announce them for well.
Dave [0:26:08]: So we got Molly?
Dave [0:26:08]: Yep.
Dave [0:26:09]: And we got Anthony, Who will be joining?
Dasha [0:26:12]: They will be joined by none other then, if anyone watches Love Island.
Dasha [0:26:17]: I feel like they do, like five minutes where you're like, alright.
Dasha [0:26:20]: Just tell me and that's what I'm doing.
Dasha [0:26:21]: Alright.
Dasha [0:26:22]: They will be joined by Brendan and?
Dave [0:26:28]: Instant rap airborne dot com.
Dave [0:26:30]: Not not a
Dasha [0:26:31]: sponsor.
Dasha [0:26:31]: Sweet, That was pretty good.
Dave [0:26:35]: That was pretty good.
Dave [0:26:35]: You surprised yourself.
Dave [0:26:36]: Hold Yeah.
Dasha [0:26:38]: I was like, whoa, where did that come from?
Dave [0:26:40]: Alright.
Dave [0:26:40]: Molly back.
Dave [0:26:41]: Here we go.
Dave [0:26:42]: We're right back on the horse.
Molly [0:26:43]: Back again.
Molly [0:26:44]: Alright.
Molly [0:26:44]: So I will show you the actual workflow in two seconds, but I do think it's important to set the scene for why we trust the skill and it's output so much.
Molly [0:26:52]: This was built on top of a lot of trial and error and many hours of manual optimizations and tests.
Molly [0:26:57]: I thought our Strategy, the topics that matter to our business, our audience, our voice tone guide and examples of our best content and pieces that rank really well in Ai search today.
Molly [0:27:07]: Most importantly, I have our skill focus on our goal, making sure that our brand is showing up whenever a customer or prospect is asking a question related to what we do.
Molly [0:27:15]: So with all of that context, we've seen really great outputs from the skill, but we will always have a human in the loop, reading, editing, updating pages to make sure that our content stays helpful and fun to So here is the prompt and the workflow in action.
Molly [0:27:28]: I'll paste everything that the skill needs our live Url, the current title and meta description, and then I'll give it also the full body copy.
Molly [0:27:35]: I'll prompt this to optimize the post for better Ai visibility, making sure that it's properly formatted, updating it with any new features or case studies that we wanna weave in, and making sure that our unique perspective is also reached into this.
Molly [0:27:47]: I think a lot of our outdated posts have some kind of data or just very neutral takes.
Molly [0:27:52]: We wanna take a stand.
Molly [0:27:53]: I'll also always ask for optimized meta title and descriptions as well.
Molly [0:27:57]: With the skill, you can also just paste all of that info in, it'll get started and ask questions as you need.
Molly [0:28:02]: Once I get the output, I am looking for a couple of key edits.
Molly [0:28:05]: First, I'm making sure that the changes to the page fully answer the questions of the prompts that we're optimizing for.
Molly [0:28:10]: Second, I'm making sure that we've weave in our new case studies and features, making sure that we have in our unique perspective and fresh messaging if needed.
Molly [0:28:18]: The output that I get is this example here on the left.
Molly [0:28:21]: This is directly from the skill.
Molly [0:28:23]: That's the explanation of what edits are made and why, and then I'll also get the doc that tells me kind of exactly what copy edits are needed.
Molly [0:28:30]: So pre optimization, this is what a page looks like.
Molly [0:28:33]: It's kind boring.
Molly [0:28:34]: And after it is a lot more engaging again as a human, but then Bots seems to love it to.
Molly [0:28:38]: So some of the edits are structural, Those are the most visible differences.
Molly [0:28:41]: The h two's are optimized.
Molly [0:28:43]: We have a Tl section that we add to almost a brief page.
Molly [0:28:46]: Updated stats, tables to organize data.
Molly [0:28:49]: New call outs, and everything is there to highlight the most important parts of the blog.
Molly [0:28:54]: A lot of the edits are copy though.
Molly [0:28:56]: A skill stat will always get swapped for something new, we're work in real case studies instead of vague claims And then our intro will always again get a point of view and instead of a neutral summary.
Molly [0:29:05]: So to get this new version, I'll take all of those recommended edits from our skill, put it into our Cms and update one by line on the human in the loop at all of that.
Molly [0:29:13]: Again, even though the purpose of this process is to support our Ai visibility efforts, the resulting changes make this much more engaging and relevant for humans and our our customers as well.
Molly [0:29:23]: So once the page has been optimized, I will take note of when the changes were made, so we can track the impact before versus after optimizations.
Molly [0:29:31]: This is an example of that page I shared earlier.
Molly [0:29:33]: The top here is Google Search console, their new generative Ai report, and that'll show us how it's performing and being cited from ai ar overview.
Molly [0:29:40]: We also use a tool called profound to understand how that page is performing, making sure again that it's readable for bots and that it's being cited by Ai.
Molly [0:29:48]: We check in on this page level occasionally, but ultimately, we're looking at our overall visibility score to keep track of how we're trending in Ai search as these optimizations are just one piece of that much larger strategy.
Molly [0:30:00]: And I think there's results speak for themselves.
Molly [0:30:01]: Again, so I'll drop the skill in the chat now.
Molly [0:30:03]: And if you have any questions reach out in the x Exit Five chat, I would love to talk about this with you.
Dasha [0:30:08]: Molly, one of the questions you got was are you running this for your landing pages or blogs or both?
Molly [0:30:16]: Right now, it's been just blogs.
Molly [0:30:17]: Landing pages are of would a different beast for.
Molly [0:30:20]: They're hosted on a different site.
Molly [0:30:21]: So we need to figure that part out, but blog is kind of where we started.
Molly [0:30:25]: Sweet.
Dasha [0:30:26]: This is so cool.
Dasha [0:30:27]: Thank y'all.
Dave [0:30:29]: Just to confirm with my team.
Dave [0:30:30]: Y'all are sending me all these questions, but I'm not asking them.
Dave [0:30:33]: The people?
Dave [0:30:36]: Okay.
Dave [0:30:37]: Anthony Europe.
Anthony [0:30:38]: Go Alright.
Anthony [0:30:39]: One too.
Anthony [0:30:39]: Here we go.
Anthony [0:30:40]: Feel free to ask any questions in the chat we'll get them answered.
Anthony [0:30:44]: Alright.
Anthony [0:30:45]: So excited you guys voted for this.
Anthony [0:30:47]: Everyone here probably knows that you need to be posting on Linkedin more.
Anthony [0:30:50]: Step one, step two, how do you optimize that so that you're gonna get ranked in these searches.
Anthony [0:30:55]: So kind of the one big finding that we've had and that Linkedin is shared a lot about is that the most cited content by Ai search is long form articles on Linkedin up until, like, a year ago, everyone ignored articles and rarely use them.
Anthony [0:31:10]: But now that with this data, we're leaning into articles a lot more because it's so clearly the most cited source.
Anthony [0:31:16]: So, of course, post are good, you definitely do post.
Anthony [0:31:19]: You should push in your company page.
Anthony [0:31:20]: You should push from your executives, but you should also lean into articles because across all the platforms.
Anthony [0:31:25]: They are the most ranked piece of content.
Anthony [0:31:27]: And it makes sense.
Anthony [0:31:27]: It's long form content on a very high authority domain and tied to a verified source tied to your Linkedin profiles tied to your company pages.
Anthony [0:31:36]: Number two, seventy five percent of the Linkedin citations were from individual creators.
Anthony [0:31:41]: So when you're choosing how much effort how many posts should you be doing for your executives or for your company, lean into your individuals, your executives your people for seventy five percent.
Anthony [0:31:51]: Linkedin pages.
Anthony [0:31:53]: You still gotta have content there.
Anthony [0:31:54]: People are still gonna research you, but maybe that's, like, twenty five percent of your efforts.
Anthony [0:31:58]: So lean into your executives, get your people to be posting.
Anthony [0:32:01]: That's what's getting.
Anthony [0:32:02]: That's what's earning the citations there.
Anthony [0:32:04]: For Google, we know Google indexes is post very fast.
Anthony [0:32:07]: You can set up alerts so that you get eat alerted when your name or when your company pops up.
Anthony [0:32:12]: I know I see these for us and our clients, like, within a day within twenty four hours, we get these alerts.
Anthony [0:32:17]: That Google's has already already found that piece of content.
Anthony [0:32:19]: So it's it's about speed.
Anthony [0:32:21]: So the faster you can comment on current events in your industry, the more that your piece of content is gonna be, you know, cited by those.
Anthony [0:32:30]: Let's go back to articles a little bit more.
Anthony [0:32:33]: So articles, you know, for every company out there, you guys are probably already have a blog.
Anthony [0:32:37]: You probably are spending a lot of time creating content on that blog.
Anthony [0:32:40]: One easy tactic is go take those blogs and repo them on a as a Linkedin article.
Anthony [0:32:45]: It's essentially the same format, long form content.
Anthony [0:32:48]: All your your Html headings in bold is gonna carry over there.
Anthony [0:32:52]: So your four megs is gonna carry over.
Anthony [0:32:53]: And what you can do, what we'd like to do is post maybe ninety percent.
Anthony [0:32:57]: Of that blog post there.
Anthony [0:32:59]: And then if you're posting seven tips or steps or tactics withhold one of them and say, for the original blog post, click here to go to the main website to get that...
Anthony [0:33:08]: The rest of that content.
Anthony [0:33:09]: So very easy thing to do, take your blog post scope, repo them as Linkedin our you're gonna, get a lot of the benefit of the Linkedin domain, and then you're gonna get more links and traffic back.
Anthony [0:33:19]: Again, we know that All are reading all this data on a very high authority domain.
Anthony [0:33:24]: Next for, like, content tips, what else do you post on top of that, It kinda comes back to, like, SEO best practices.
Anthony [0:33:30]: Number one, just, like, pure formatting tips, use headings in your content, even the way that you're structuring your Linkedin posts, put headings, put bullet points of lists there.
Anthony [0:33:40]: Hard data and numbers always get cited very highly, especially if it's proprietary or something that you have found, like, at your company, and then at tag your company, at tag people and at take others.
Anthony [0:33:51]: This is kind of a very important tactic because lots of people will post, but maybe not not tie it back to the companies.
Anthony [0:33:58]: So this is called the ghost citation when when you get a citation, but it doesn't actually tied to your name or your company.
Anthony [0:34:06]: It's it's kinda just data for the algorithm.
Anthony [0:34:08]: So at tag tie that back.
Anthony [0:34:10]: So best list side by side comparisons how you guys.
Anthony [0:34:13]: Whenever people gonna ask an All.
Anthony [0:34:14]: I got twenty seconds there that went by really fast.
Anthony [0:34:16]: So next is boosting posts.
Anthony [0:34:18]: Linkedin has a lot of data that when you boost it, you get more engagement, more comments, more likes on it and that ranks at higher in L.
Anthony [0:34:26]: So take your good content and boost it, forty one percent of boosted posts.
Anthony [0:34:30]: I Forty one percent more and the thought leader ads.
Anthony [0:34:33]: If but anyone anyone's heard any of my content on Linkedin, talk a lot about thought leader ads, boost your best posts into thought leader ads.
Anthony [0:34:39]: From your people, and then you'll get even more visibility out of that.
Anthony [0:34:42]: So I'll drop this here if you wanted go read that other article or feel free to ask me any questions.
Anthony [0:34:46]: I'll drop these slides in the chat afterwards.
Dasha [0:34:49]: Anthony, I've got a question for you echoing a few of the questions in the chat.
Dasha [0:34:52]: When you say long form content on Linkedin, what are you talking about?
Dasha [0:34:57]: Like, the newsletter feature, the article feature, just a really long post, what do you?
Anthony [0:35:02]: Well those are good?
Anthony [0:35:03]: There is a sweet spot.
Anthony [0:35:04]: Eight hundred to twelve hundred words is is the sweet spot.
Anthony [0:35:08]: So that's a sweet spot.
Anthony [0:35:09]: There's definitely times you might go longer, you might go shorter, but that's a sweet spot for content to give it enough content that it's gonna use that when it's ranking.
Aditya [0:35:17]: Did did...
Aditya [0:35:17]: It.
Aditya [0:35:17]: Cool.
Dave [0:35:18]: Did you also say that Linkedin content is being cited by the L.
Dave [0:35:21]: We lost him.
Dave [0:35:23]: He did.
Dasha [0:35:24]: Sure did?
Dave [0:35:25]: Because I'm just wondering, like, if that's a way you could also make the case for, like, why CEO exact key people what the company should be writing on on social now not just like the...
Dave [0:35:34]: Well how many likes did my post get, you know?
Dave [0:35:37]: Alright.
Dave [0:35:38]: Mister Brendan Hu is back.
Brendan [0:35:40]: Cool.
Brendan [0:35:40]: So we talked about this earlier.
Brendan [0:35:42]: The big thing that I wanna talk through and make sure that we're all on the same page with this.
Brendan [0:35:47]: The stuff that I'm gonna share with you here in a second works for Ai search.
Brendan [0:35:51]: There's a lot of different ways you're hearing in a bunch of different things.
Brendan [0:35:53]: Right?
Brendan [0:35:53]: We're not all a hundred percent sure.
Brendan [0:35:55]: There's a all the vendors out there that sell trackers and things like that are saying.
Brendan [0:35:59]: Here's how you optimize this.
Brendan [0:36:00]: Here's how there's a lot of correlated data The most important thing is do we have coverage on our own website on these topics that we wanna influence an Ai search or traditional Google search.
Brendan [0:36:10]: These are three different clients.
Brendan [0:36:11]: This is not your old school SEO.
Brendan [0:36:14]: It's gonna take six to nine months to win.
Brendan [0:36:16]: Right?
Brendan [0:36:16]: The question is in a world of limited time and resources, where do we spend those resources?
Brendan [0:36:22]: Like I said, this works...
Brendan [0:36:23]: This is Ai search.
Brendan [0:36:24]: These all come out of profound, which somebody mentioned earlier, it also crush for organic search.
Brendan [0:36:29]: This is literally a competitor versus competitor, two other competitors that somebody evaluating.
Brendan [0:36:34]: And if you look, the ad is user evidence, the Ai overview is influenced by user evidence.
Brendan [0:36:41]: They have two citations on the right and then the organic link first all the way at the bottom.
Brendan [0:36:45]: This is the modern state of Google outside of B2B, it's even more messy.
Brendan [0:36:49]: At least, we have some sort of organized mess right now.
Brendan [0:36:52]: What I'm gonna share it with you is exactly how I created this.
Brendan [0:36:56]: So I mentioned earlier, we're talking about the three s strategy sales success and support.
Brendan [0:37:01]: I wanted to give you the actual questions that I'm asking them.
Brendan [0:37:03]: These are literally...
Brendan [0:37:05]: These come from fathom, these screenshots here on the right.
Brendan [0:37:07]: This is me talking to user evidence as sales success support, your head of product marketing.
Brendan [0:37:11]: Alex is now the new, like, head of marketing there.
Brendan [0:37:14]: These awesome, but I'm talking to sales.
Brendan [0:37:17]: So when I talk to Mel, when I'm asking Mel is number one.
Brendan [0:37:20]: You please if you do this, ask them this question first.
Brendan [0:37:23]: Like, what is something we can do to uniquely help your team.
Brendan [0:37:26]: Then I'm asking sales questions around our positioning and our narrative, what are objections people are raising?
Brendan [0:37:32]: What are the, like, moments they physically lean in?
Brendan [0:37:35]: Like, when you're doing a demo if you're doing it over Zoom, which I'm sure where all are.
Brendan [0:37:39]: When are they actually leaning in?
Brendan [0:37:40]: When does their facial expression change?
Brendan [0:37:42]: When do they look less distracted?
Brendan [0:37:44]: Right?
Brendan [0:37:44]: Find what those Aha moments are.
Brendan [0:37:46]: Are there competitors that are coming up more than ever.
Brendan [0:37:49]: Is there anything changing?
Brendan [0:37:50]: The one question I love to ask?
Brendan [0:37:51]: I don't think I have it on here is like, what's something you're hearing?
Brendan [0:37:55]: What's a new phrase you're hearing people use more and more that maybe they weren't six months ago?
Brendan [0:37:59]: Sales a really obvious team.
Brendan [0:38:02]: And don't let your boss or if you are the boss, don't just, like, sm people together in a room and be, like, well, I set up a meeting between sales and marketing.
Brendan [0:38:10]: Well we have it...
Brendan [0:38:11]: This is what Hear from a lot of kinda, like, We have a sales and marketing recap every week or every month or so...
Brendan [0:38:15]: That's not the same thing as you actually taking time with them?
Brendan [0:38:18]: And talking to them and then asking follow questions.
Brendan [0:38:21]: Like, hey.
Brendan [0:38:21]: Tell me more about that.
Brendan [0:38:22]: Hey, what does that look like?
Brendan [0:38:23]: Can you give me an example of that?
Brendan [0:38:25]: That's how we get the language for figuring out stuff that we're gonna create that actually prints money for us.
Brendan [0:38:31]: I'll give you another example here with success.
Brendan [0:38:33]: This is the other thing that drives me absolutely bonkers.
Brendan [0:38:37]: When it comes to marketing is we tend to just be focused on this acquisition addiction.
Brendan [0:38:41]: How do we acquire new customers, new customers, new customers.
Brendan [0:38:43]: And if you're working in any sort of retention product or it, whether that's a software or service.
Brendan [0:38:48]: You have to care about the things people are searching in need in their renewal process and stuff like that.
Brendan [0:38:54]: I have a full breakdown here how it works, but I know that we're we're coming up on time.
Brendan [0:38:59]: Essentially, I'm recording all of these.
Brendan [0:39:01]: I'm taking notes.
Brendan [0:39:02]: I'm analyzing them in claude.
Brendan [0:39:03]: I'm s emphasizing that into a document that I can share back with the rest of the team and then giving a team insights stock.
Brendan [0:39:09]: This makes you the most valuable person in the company.
Brendan [0:39:12]: Please create one of these.
Brendan [0:39:14]: You become the customer whisperer, You are no longer the furthest from the customer in marketing where sales success and support are closer, People start coming to you when they need that voice of customer.
Brendan [0:39:23]: You're not gonna be the person that gets laid off or let go because we're the closest to the customer.
Brendan [0:39:28]: Two ways really quick.
Brendan [0:39:29]: I know I'm out of time.
Brendan [0:39:30]: How do I automate it number one?
Brendan [0:39:31]: I pipe it all into Slack, you feel free to screenshot this or steal it.
Brendan [0:39:35]: I pipe it all into Slack through Claude and have it do an analysis.
Brendan [0:39:38]: And then I'm also using air opt shoutout out air opt to use actual customer evidence from user evidence, and all of their customers are gonna be able to do this soon as well.
Brendan [0:39:48]: To feed right back into the content because of that, we crush.
Dasha [0:39:52]: Sla.
Dasha [0:39:52]: I have a question for, Brandon.
Dasha [0:39:53]: The clients that you're rolling this out with, What are some, like, missteps that you've seen where you're like, oh, don't do that.
Dasha [0:39:59]: Do it differently.
Brendan [0:40:01]: So the thing I mentioned earlier with, like, brick from Anchor man where it's like, well, we don't wanna, like, reach out directly to customers or we don't wanna reach out to this or, like, we already have a meeting.
Brendan [0:40:11]: Like, that's the biggest thing like, I'm fighting, I know this sounds silly.
Brendan [0:40:14]: Like, in sales, you lose most of your deals to status quo.
Brendan [0:40:16]: I lose most of what I'm trying to do inside of companies to status quo.
Brendan [0:40:20]: We already have this.
Brendan [0:40:21]: We have, you know, mom, I want drake.
Brendan [0:40:23]: We have drake at home and it's, like, we...
Brendan [0:40:25]: Okay.
Brendan [0:40:26]: It's a mess.
Brendan [0:40:26]: That sort of thing.
Brendan [0:40:28]: So the biggest mistake is, like, thinking they already have this process and not realizing how incredible, like they're sitting on this gold mine of information.
Brendan [0:40:36]: Especially when you start automating it and you take every single sales success and support call, put it into a Slack channel and s it.
Brendan [0:40:43]: This, like, the one of the best uses of Ai.
Brendan [0:40:45]: That...
Brendan [0:40:46]: Just imagine everybody in marketing has an immediate download every single day of everything that's happening with sales success and support.
Dasha [0:40:54]: Have you seen the opposite problem where, like, at our company, For example, everyone can hook up claude to Gong, and now everyone is source of truth for voice of customer?
Dasha [0:41:03]: What is the actual source of truth when everyone has the same hook up?
Brendan [0:41:08]: Oh, I love that.
Brendan [0:41:10]: Is that a real problem you're dealing with?
Brendan [0:41:12]: Where, like, everybody's...
Dasha [0:41:13]: A hundred percent.
Dasha [0:41:14]: Yeah.
Dasha [0:41:14]: There's messaging
Brendan [0:41:17]: so this is a great problem to have.
Brendan [0:41:18]: But you are like the one percent of the one percent of the one percent.
Brendan [0:41:22]: So I would love for everybody to be there where everybody's well, I listen to this, and they said this, and they said that and they said this I think then it would be, like, it's the person who can do without getting...
Brendan [0:41:31]: I call altitude sickness where you're, like, super zoomed in or super zoomed out all the time.
Brendan [0:41:35]: I think for you because you're so zoomed in.
Brendan [0:41:39]: It becomes the person that can zoom out a little bit and be, like, Hey.
Brendan [0:41:42]: I know you heard this on one call and you heard this on one call, but I actually looked at it, and they can, like, zoom out and give you some better numbers on, like, twenty three percent of calls.
Brendan [0:41:49]: This is the type of thing happening.
Dasha [0:41:51]: Yep.
Dasha [0:41:51]: That makes sense.
Brendan [0:41:53]: Which week could all...
Brendan [0:41:53]: It's also a great use case Yeah.
Dave [0:41:55]: Related to this idea, we used to say, would always called this, like, their words, and I've always found that their words is the best source of copy.
Dave [0:42:04]: And so I've always kept a swipe file or even just an Apple notes this was back in the day before This was all, like, recorded in Ai and Gong five, but, like, sometimes you're trying so hard to explain what you do, and then you find on a customer call that, like, someone who just says it and explains it.
Dave [0:42:19]: Oh, here.
Dave [0:42:20]: I...
Dave [0:42:20]: Here you guys do this and this.
Dave [0:42:21]: I'm like, yes.
Dave [0:42:22]: That's the headline on the website.
Dave [0:42:23]: That's where so much of this comes from.
Dave [0:42:24]: So.
Dasha [0:42:25]: I feel like a especially with Ai, like, Ai will take...
Dasha [0:42:27]: It will strip the customer words out.
Dasha [0:42:29]: So, like, I've started prompting Ai to say do not strip the voice of the customer, like, use their words verbatim.
Dave [0:42:35]: Right now, as of twelve forty seven on Friday, July twenty fourth.
Dave [0:42:39]: Dave Gerhardt is of the camp that Ai sucks.
Dave [0:42:42]: And I'm I'm sorry that's just how I'm feeling right now.
Dave [0:42:44]: So with that, let's talk about it.
Dave [0:42:47]: Let's talk about it.
Aditya [0:42:49]: Right into what my next thing is and We need to get to those numbers.
Dave [0:42:53]: Okay.
Dave [0:42:53]: Great.
Aditya [0:42:53]: Well, kick it off here.
Aditya [0:42:55]: So we we did the book.
Aditya [0:42:56]: Right?
Aditya [0:42:57]: And we talked about it, we got the launch.
Aditya [0:42:58]: We got people downloading.
Aditya [0:42:59]: That we had a base.
Aditya [0:43:00]: But we found a few things that didn't work while the first time that we thought we'd tackle the next sign.
Aditya [0:43:03]: And that led us down to actually building a magazine, and I'll talk about that.
Aditya [0:43:08]: So I was missing the first round.
Aditya [0:43:10]: We noticed that we had one hit.
Aditya [0:43:11]: We had a bunch of events following it, but the problem was that it was just one book and one asset, and it covered one core theme.
Aditya [0:43:17]: And we got feedback from people will download the book as well as those who came to the virtual events, they wanna to go deeper.
Aditya [0:43:23]: They wanna to understand how it relates to them in their industry and the problems they are having.
Aditya [0:43:27]: And that's where we start looking at industry based problems.
Aditya [0:43:30]: And with practitioners we work with and new ones also as well.
Aditya [0:43:34]: And then the the part is they wanna understand how our own customers were doing it.
Aditya [0:43:37]: They actually asked for this.
Aditya [0:43:38]: And we...
Aditya [0:43:39]: First time avoided customers on purpose, and we brought them into the mix and start sprinkling them and connecting them to their industries and how they solve them the problems they had.
Aditya [0:43:47]: And that's why we started to think of as a magazine.
Aditya [0:43:49]: And the way we der risked it, was we stress tested with Friend.
Aditya [0:43:54]: Asked them, hey, what are the topics you care about.
Aditya [0:43:56]: And we weren't even sure if human in our Ai was the topic.
Aditya [0:43:58]: We wanted something else substantial, and we came this after talking to five, six folks who were like, yes.
Aditya [0:44:04]: I'm a.
Aditya [0:44:04]: I'm an exact...
Aditya [0:44:06]: I have problems on where I should use Ai, Dave, I know you ua Ai today, but where I should use human.
Aditya [0:44:10]: And that's where all the taste and judgment stuff came up.
Aditya [0:44:13]: But then the themes actually resonated was Hey.
Aditya [0:44:16]: For human Ai, what are the key things I struggle with?
Aditya [0:44:19]: Is it data?
Aditya [0:44:20]: Is it personalization?
Aditya [0:44:21]: Is it...
Aditya [0:44:22]: What are the risks that come with taking one or the other?
Aditya [0:44:25]: And me as a leader I wanna dig into more and understand how people in this space are doing this?
Aditya [0:44:29]: I'm thinking about it?
Aditya [0:44:29]: And that's where we start taking that feedback, tweaked it, got the right people in place, leverage our partnerships team, call this out.
Aditya [0:44:36]: That's a secret weapon.
Aditya [0:44:37]: If you're in marketing your partnerships team, use them to get practitioners and influencers and other products to work with you.
Aditya [0:44:43]: They are gonna have baked in distribution.
Aditya [0:44:45]: So now the issue was on the first goal.
Aditya [0:44:47]: Like I said, we had one big launch.
Aditya [0:44:49]: We had virtual events, but timing is a challenge.
Aditya [0:44:53]: Right?
Aditya [0:44:53]: Accounts don't by when we want them to buy.
Aditya [0:44:55]: They buy when they wanna buy, and they're gonna do it on their timelines.
Aditya [0:44:58]: So we need some way to nurture the account, and then we thought, hey, why don't we do a Magazine?
Aditya [0:45:03]: And the database isn't gonna be ready by right away.
Aditya [0:45:06]: But we give sales reason to reach out to our target accounts with the practitioners who are in the book, that are from look likes of the target account.
Aditya [0:45:15]: So simply put, hey This could me my customer.
Aditya [0:45:17]: There's a author in this magazine.
Aditya [0:45:19]: Let's talk about the problem.
Aditya [0:45:20]: Let's use this to reach out.
Aditya [0:45:21]: And we actually made the hat that I'm wearing human Ai that we ship with every book physically.
Aditya [0:45:25]: So then just moved us towards more and more.
Aditya [0:45:29]: Like, the campaign ends, but we have more physical to ship.
Aditya [0:45:32]: The book still get shipped out to the this day, I'm out with Mo more, but now we have three additions of the magazine that are coming out.
Aditya [0:45:38]: So the first one went live in May, it was human Ai.
Aditya [0:45:42]: Data or part of it.
Aditya [0:45:44]: And every one of them represents the industry went after, and I can't call out how critical is when you look at these practitioners influencers that they are resonating with the target accounts we wanna go after for your sales team.
Aditya [0:45:54]: This does not work.
Aditya [0:45:55]: If you don't combine those two.
Aditya [0:45:57]: You can't just put whatever you want in there, You have to make sure your sales team is trained to after target accounts with the folks who talk about the problems they have in there.
Aditya [0:46:04]: The next one was personalization with the same methodology here.
Aditya [0:46:07]: When after personalization in industries, we know personalization matters, which was food, which was mortgages, right?
Aditya [0:46:14]: Which was credit unions and also retailers like Blah blah.
Aditya [0:46:18]: And the last one was what are the risks.
Aditya [0:46:20]: And this is universal.
Aditya [0:46:20]: This is more for leaders that are traveling that are dealing with this deploying Ai.
Aditya [0:46:25]: And what are the downsides, what matters for it and so forth.
Aditya [0:46:28]: So when we did that, we launched the magazine May.
Aditya [0:46:31]: I'm not there anymore.
Aditya [0:46:31]: When we did that, we have over a thousand downloads, find more additional copy shipped and hundred and twelve new Ab accounts engaged.
Aditya [0:46:37]: And it fed into the seven point eight million that we closed.
Aditya [0:46:40]: So I don't say...
Aditya [0:46:41]: I always start with the audience, start with their problems where they buy and how they buy and then go from there to drive distribution.
Dasha [0:46:46]: Dave, can I ask the question?
Dave [0:46:48]: I'm letting you lead today, sister.
Dasha [0:46:51]: I did yeah.
Dasha [0:46:51]: I'm sold on this play.
Dasha [0:46:52]: How do I get started?
Dasha [0:46:53]: I wanna know, like, the logistics?
Dasha [0:46:55]: When you did this, how much if you're open to sharing did a single magazine cost?
Dasha [0:46:59]: Were you shipping them directly from the manufacturer?
Dasha [0:47:02]: Like, how do you do this?
Aditya [0:47:05]: Yeah.
Aditya [0:47:05]: So I think, like, the magazine tier too.
Aditya [0:47:07]: Right?
Aditya [0:47:07]: Right?
Aditya [0:47:08]: There's a little copy.
Aditya [0:47:08]: The biggest thing is that you wanted to think about logistically the magazine was, like, three, four bucks.
Aditya [0:47:14]: The book was substantially more, but we got just three years of printers.
Aditya [0:47:18]: And we actually use send those to to ship them out.
Aditya [0:47:20]: So, basically, at the logistical point is we launched them, and we had a pre launch where would get others in friendly.
Aditya [0:47:27]: So on the launch that you'd have Magazine out in their everyone's hands and being the wild and be sharing outside of the authors.
Aditya [0:47:32]: And so that's where logistics came in.
