Welcome to Don’t Eat Your Young — the podcast that brings you stories from the trenches of the incredible, wonderful, exhausting, terrifying, joyous world of nursing.
Host Beth Quaas been in the world of nursing for nearly decades and has worked in hospitals large and small. She's worn the hats of the floor nurse, ICU, ER, and anesthesia. She's been a manager, an educator, and a co-worker.
On Don't Eat Your Young, Beth highlights stories from nurses around the country that are doing amazing things for their nursing colleagues to support them and let them know that they are not alone. This is a show celebrating a positive culture of nursing and care, and we can be a part of this culture by sharing wins — and struggles — across the field.
We will also explore opportunities that are unique in nursing that may inspire you to go in new directions. These voices from the field are an inspiration to care for yourself, and those around you.

Nurses. Making our world better, one shift at a time!
Hello everyone, and welcome back to Don't Eat Your Young. I'm your host, Beth Quass. It's been a hot minute since I've been back, but I'm excited. I took some time to reset and regroup, and now I'm happy to be bringing you some amazing guests this season. I have a great list of people that have some stories to tell and to talk about the fantastic work that they are doing to help improve our profession.
Beth Quaas:One thing I would really like to do this year is to have you nominate an amazing nurse that you know, a nursing assistant, a student, an advanced practice nurse practitioner. Go to my website, don'teatyouryoung.com and nominate someone, and we'll give them a shout out on the show and really give them the recognition that they deserve. You can find me at my website, don'teatyouryoung.com. I'm on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and you can send me a message. I would be so happy to talk to anyone that's interested in being a guest on the show.
Beth Quaas:Come on, tell your story, and support each other. Don't Eat Your Young is all about understanding our differences, educating others, while also listening to what others have to say, and learning something along the way. Even the most experienced nurses can learn something from other people. This is about helping each other grow instead of tearing others down. So come on, tell your story and get others excited to be in our profession.
Beth Quaas:I know that we're leaving the profession in growing numbers, but it took a lot to get here. So let's try to help each other get to a place so that we can stay. I'm excited that I'm back for another season. I hope you enjoy the guests that we have and please reach out. Go ahead and find me on whatever place you listen to podcasts and subscribe and leave me a rating and review.
Beth Quaas:I'm excited to be here. Have a great day.
