Hello and welcome to the Transfer News Podcast! I'm Archer, your host, and it's Sunday the twenty-first of December, two thousand and twenty-five. Hope you're all surviving the festive period and not eating too many mince pies before the big day itself. We've got an absolutely jam-packed show today with twenty stories to get through, so let's dive straight in.

First up, Manchester United are plotting a move for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo this January. The Ghanaian winger has been in electric form this season and United clearly think he could add some much-needed pace and directness to their attack. Semenyo's versatility to play across the front line makes him an attractive option, and Bournemouth might find it tough to resist serious money for a player they signed just under two years ago. I have to say, this feels like exactly the type of signing United need right now.

Staying with United, there's a deadlock in negotiations over Joshua Zirkzee's potential move to Roma. The Dutch striker only joined United in the summer but has struggled to make an impact, and Roma are reportedly interested in a loan deal. However, the two clubs are yet to agree on terms, particularly regarding loan fees and whether there'll be an obligation to buy. It's a tricky situation for all involved really.

Back to Semenyo, and it turns out Manchester United aren't alone in their pursuit. Five clubs are reportedly chasing the Bournemouth forward, which could drive up his price significantly. It's always interesting when a player suddenly becomes the hot property everyone wants, isn't it? Semenyo's stock has absolutely skyrocketed this season.

Moving to Manchester City, and they're targeting Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi for the summer transfer window. City are clearly planning ahead for their defensive needs, and the England international has consistently proven himself as one of the Premier League's most reliable centre-backs. Palace will demand a hefty fee though, especially after Newcastle's failed pursuit last summer. According to BBC Sport, Bayern Munich are also planning talks with Guehi, so City could face serious competition from the German giants.

Manchester United could reportedly block any potential move for Kobbie Mainoo this January. The young midfielder has attracted interest from several clubs looking for a loan deal, but United view him as crucial to their long-term plans. Given his performances when given the chance, you can absolutely understand why they'd want to keep him around.

West Ham United have set their sights on Norwich City striker Josh Sargent. The American forward has been in decent form in the Championship, and West Ham are looking to add depth to their attacking options. Sargent's physicality and work rate could suit the Premier League, though it remains to be seen if he can make the step up.

Crystal Palace want Tottenham's Brennan Johnson, which is a really interesting one. Johnson has had a mixed time at Spurs since his big-money move from Nottingham Forest, and Palace think they can get the best out of the Welsh international. Whether Tottenham would entertain selling to a rival remains to be seen.

West Ham are also watching Middlesbrough's Adam Clayton, according to BBC Sport. The experienced midfielder has been performing well in the Championship, and West Ham are keeping tabs on him as they look to strengthen their squad depth. It's perhaps not the most glamorous signing but sometimes experience can be invaluable.

Now for the big one, Mohamed Salah is the top priority for the Saudi Pro League this winter. The Liverpool superstar's contract situation remains unresolved, and Saudi clubs are circling. Salah has been absolutely sensational again this season, and Liverpool will be desperate to tie him down to a new deal. According to BBC Sport, Al Hilal are preparing a bid for Salah that could test Liverpool's resolve.

A Premier League pair are reportedly eyeing Sporting Lisbon's Ousmane Diomande. The young centre-back has been impressive in Portugal, and with Sporting willing to listen to offers, there could be movement on this one. Defensive reinforcements are always in demand.

Paris Saint-Germain are considering a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford, according to BBC Sport. The Manchester United forward has endured a difficult period, and PSG are exploring creative ways to bring him to France. Swap deals are notoriously difficult to pull off, but stranger things have happened in football.

Kobbie Mainoo is in demand for a January loan move, with several clubs interested in taking the Manchester United midfielder on a temporary basis. The nineteen-year-old has shown glimpses of real quality, and a loan spell could be beneficial for his development, though as we mentioned earlier, United may block any move.

More on Salah, and reports suggest he could still make the move to Saudi Arabia even if he signs a new Liverpool contract. The Saudi clubs are playing the long game here, and they're determined to bring one of the world's best players to their league. It's a situation that'll rumble on for months.

Crystal Palace may consider bids for Jean-Philippe Mateta if the right offer comes in. The French striker has been solid for Palace, but the club could be tempted to cash in if someone meets their valuation. Mateta's physicality makes him an attractive option for several clubs.

Saudi clubs have set their sights firmly on Salah, with multiple teams interested in securing his signature. The financial packages on offer are absolutely eye-watering, and it's going to take a massive commitment from Liverpool to keep him at Anfield beyond this season.

Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford reportedly wants to leave the club. The young keeper has found opportunities limited behind Ederson, and he's eager to play regular first-team football. A loan or permanent move could be on the cards in January.

Liverpool are planning a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to BBC Sport. The French international is one of Europe's most talented young midfielders, though prising him away from Real Madrid would be incredibly difficult and expensive. It's an ambitious target, you have to give Liverpool credit for that.

Liverpool are also in a trio of clubs chasing Everton's Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegalese forward has impressed since his move to Goodison Park, and several clubs are monitoring his situation. A cross-city move would be absolutely huge if it happened.

Manchester City prefer Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson to Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton in their search for midfield reinforcements. Anderson has been excellent since joining Forest, and City clearly rate him highly. According to BBC Sport, Forest are ready to reject any bids for Anderson, viewing him as integral to their plans.

Finally, Arsenal are eyeing Elche defender Fidel Mendoza. The Spanish youngster has caught the eye in La Liga, and Arsenal's scouting network has been working overtime to identify emerging talent. It's exactly the type of signing that could pay dividends down the line.
