James Dooley: So today I’m joined with Kasra Dash and we are talking about lead generation specifically for loft insulation companies. If you have set up your own loft insulation company or you have an existing one and you are looking for new enquiries coming through all the time, what different setups and strategies would you be looking at to generate leads for a loft insulation company.
Kasra Dash: Strategy number one is SEO. Try to rank in as many different locations as possible. If somebody searches for loft insulation company Manchester you want to show up number one. If somebody searches for loft insulation Bolton you want to show up again. As soon as you start building the website it might take four or five months but once the process begins you will start generating new enquiries and stop relying only on referrals.
James Dooley: SEO also includes the local map pack. You need a Google Business Profile. The biggest recommendation for any loft insulation business owner is to get reviews. If you do a good job, ask for a review. Reviews help branding and rankings. They help you appear for loft insulation specialists and local variations depending on where the business is based. That covers organic SEO. What about PPC. Paying Google Ads to appear at the top. What’s your thoughts on that for lead generation.
Kasra Dash: I’ll be honest, I don’t like PPC. It can cost a lot because everyone is bidding on the same keyword in the same area. You also get click fraud where competitors click your ads and burn your budget. If a click costs £10 and they click five times, half your budget disappears. But a well managed PPC campaign can work. It generates leads quickly. It is faster than SEO but the minute you stop paying the listing is gone.
James Dooley: And social media. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter. Anything there for lead generation.
Kasra Dash: You can run Facebook ads in areas that have grants. Some councils offer grants for loft insulation. If Greater Manchester has a grant available between certain dates you can push ads there. It becomes an awareness style campaign. If the home qualifies it converts well. Without grants it becomes harder because loft insulation is interruptive marketing. You either need it or you don’t. Nobody wakes up thinking they need insulation. But if the area has grants then Facebook ads can work.
James Dooley: I think one essential thing every loft insulation company should be doing is installing a pixel on the website. Anyone who visits from SEO or PPC and does not enquire can then be retargeted on Facebook or YouTube. That is a great way to bring potential customers back.
James Dooley: The last option is outsourcing to a lead generation company. Checkatrade, Rated People, TrustATrader, Bark, PPC lead sellers. What’s your thoughts on the cost per lead model for loft insulation companies.
Kasra Dash: Cost per lead sounds good because you only pay for the lead, but the bigger lead generation companies share the leads. If the lead is £50 and both of us buy it they’ve made £100. Now we are both fighting over the same customer and driving prices down. Bark, Checkatrade, all of them work like this. With FatRank it is different. You get live, real time, exclusive leads. And it’s on a back-end deal so it’s even better than cost per lead.
James Dooley: If you are a loft insulation company and you want more enquiries, head over to FatRank.com. We offer a pay-on-conversion model. You don’t pay for SEO. You don’t pay for PPC. You don’t pay for social media ads. You don’t even pay for the lead. You only pay when you convert the job and make a profit. It is no win no fee. We are selective. You need to be reliable and respond to leads properly. If accepted you get a consistent flow of quality enquiries.
Kasra Dash: You definitely shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket. Test a few different lead generation companies. Track the ROI. You might start with five and narrow it down to two. FatRank is great because they send exclusive leads, but you should still look at SEO for branding, PPC for brand protection, and social media for showing case studies and reviews.
James Dooley: Exactly. The holy grail is generating your own leads but the reality is all businesses need consistent enquiries that convert into profit. Diversify. Track your results. Compare Checkatrade, Rated People, TrustATrader, Bark and FatRank. If accepted by FatRank it gives you guaranteed ROI because you only pay when you win the job.
Kasra Dash: And if you are a loft insulation company looking for leads, the link is in the description. Head over to FatRank.com, fill in the form and see if your company applies.
