What is Soul Medicine with Carina Bull?

You might think you need more clarity.

But most women already know what they feel.

They’ve just spent years overriding themselves to survive.

Hi, I’m Carina Bull - trauma-aware facilitator, intuitive mentor, and professional pattern interrupter apparently 😅.

I help emotionally exhausted women recognise the survival patterns underneath over-functioning, hyper-vigilance, people-pleasing, emotional labour, and self-abandonment… so they can reconnect with who they were before survival taught them who they had to be.

Soul Medicine is a podcast about the emotional truths many women quietly live inside:

→ burnout,
→ resentment,
→ identity loss,
→ nervous system exhaustion,
→ relationship patterns,
and the invisible weight of always being “the strong one.”

No fluffy wellness advice.
No performative positivity.

Just honest conversations, nervous system awareness, emotional truth-telling, and the kind of pattern recognition that makes women stop and think:

“…oh shit. That’s actually me.”

Welcome to Soul Medicine.

Podcast Episode #21 - Why You Can’t Hear Your Intuition (And How to Fix It)
===

[00:00:00] Hello, and welcome back to yet another inspirational podcast episode brought to you by yours truly, Carina. I'm your truth speaker, truth seeker, truth keeper, and I am so glad that you're here with me today

Hey, it's Carina, and welcome back to Soul Medicine. If you've ever sat there thinking, "Why can't I hear my intuition? Why do some people get clear signs and mine feel like static?" Or, "Am I even intuitive?" [00:01:00] this episode is for you. Because here's the truth no one actually explains. Intuition isn't loud. It's not dramatic.

It's not a Hollywood moment. It's subtle, like a feather landing on water, and it speaks through your body long before your mind ever gets involved. By the end of this episode, you'll understand what intuition really is, why it speaks differently to each person, and how to recognize the intuitive language you've been using your whole life without even realizing it.

In a moment, we're going to unpack the biggest myth about intuition that keeps people blocked, disconnected, or convinced they're not intuitive at all. So stay with me

Most of us grow up believing intuition should look like a big moment. A voice from spirit, a vivid picture, [00:02:00] a loud knowing that hits like lightning, an apparition standing at the foot of your bed, a sign so obvious it practically taps you on the shoulder. And when it doesn't arrive like that, we assume we don't have it.

But intuition doesn't perform. It doesn't compete with your thoughts. It doesn't yell. It whispers like wind moving through long grass. It nudges like a hand on the small of your back. It hums under your ribs like an engine warming up. Quiet, steady, present Just because it isn't loud doesn't mean it isn't there.

Here's the truth most people never say out [00:03:00] loud. Intuition doesn't speak in one language. It's an umbrella, and underneath it are different ways your soul communicates, and we call these the clairs. So there's clairsentience, you feel the truth in your body. Claircognizance, you just know without logic.

Clairvoyance, you see inner images or flashes. Clairaudience, you hear words, phrases, lyrics, guidance. There are more, but these are the main ones. Here's how mine speaks to me. So through feeling, my body reacts before my mind makes sense of anything, so that's clairsentience. Through knowing, truth drops in like a stone into still water.

I know things, but I just don't know how I know them. [00:04:00] That is claircognizance. Through images, I see short movie clips in my third eye. I'm sometimes shown a still image. So that's clairvoyance. And then there's through words, so this is clairaudience. So I will hear sentences, um, songs sometimes will land in my mind like little soul notes from heaven.

I will hear quotes. And so your intuition may use one of these or a combination, like myself. But I promise you, it uses something. Everybody is intuitive. You're just dismissing the doorway intuition naturally uses to reach you. [00:05:00] And before we go deeper, let me say something that will help you if you struggle to hear your intuition because your mind is loud or your energy feels chaotic.

When your nervous system is overwhelmed, intuition becomes a whisper drowned out by static. That's why grounding is the gateway to clarity. And if you don't know where to start, I've created something just for you. My Ground And Protect free, I'll say that again, free guided meditation is designed to quiet the noise, bring you back into your body, and create the energetic space where intuition can actually be heard It's short, gentle, and powerful, and you can grab it through the link in the show notes.

If you've been feeling scattered, anxious, or stuck, start [00:06:00] there. Now, let's get somatic for a moment. Think back to the last time you sensed something was off before you had any proof, or the last time you felt pulled towards something before you could explain why A bit like when a person walks into a room that you don't know and you can feel the energy before they've even said anything

That was intuition. Not a thought, but a compass. Your intuition is like the tide. It moves you long before you consciously decide to move. And here's where the neuroscience meets the soul. Intuition isn't a magical right brain superpower. It's a whole brain [00:07:00] experience. The right brain is the storm cloud, sensing pressure, mood, energy, the shift before the shift.

The left brain is the thunder, loud, delayed, rational, trying to explain what already happened. That's why your first three seconds matter. Your intuitive hit arrives like lightning. It's quick, it's clean, it's undeniable. Bam. After three seconds, the thunder rolls in. The left brain starts analyzing, doubting, rationalizing what's just happened.

So intuition comes in as a frequency, and your clair is the translator. So clairsentients feel truth ripple across their skin. That is why you often will feel goosebumps or a tingly sensation up your arms. [00:08:00] Clairsentients will feel truth drop into their body like an anchor. Clairvoyants will see truth flash like tiny inner films.

And clairaudients hear truth whisper like a voice through a cracked door. It's a tiny voice inside your head. Very hard to work out if that's your reading voice or if that's a message because they are very similar. It sounds like you're talking to yourself. But with patience and trust, you do learn to know the subtle differences.

So you're not disconnected. You're just listening with the wrong part of you And intuition is not something you learn either. It's something you remember. Like I said, we're all born with it, and it's not until the [00:09:00] age of about five, six, where we start school and we start to get shaped by society's rules that we forget It's like recognizing your mother's footsteps in a crowded hallway.

You know the sound even after years of not hearing it. Your body knows intuition. Your energy knows intuition. Your soul knows intuition. You've just been taught to trust logic over sensation, proof over truth, overthinking over instinct. But your intuition has been speaking to you your whole life. The flutter in your stomach when something feels wrong, the warmth [00:10:00] when something feels right, the tightening around a no, the softening around a yes, the way someone's presence feels like home or danger before they even speak.

Intuition is ancient. It's ins- it's instinct wrapped in divinity. This is why when I work with clients through tarot, reiki, or coaching, we always start with intuition. Because real healing isn't about learning what I know, it's about remembering what you already know. So tarot mirrors the truth in your field.

Reiki clears the static so the truth can rise. And coaching helps you to trust your own compass instead of abandoning yourself for someone else's map. Your intuition doesn't need to be louder. You just need to get quieter. So let's [00:11:00] just take a moment just to come back into the body and invite you to just place a hand on your heart, another one on your belly, and just like you to start by breathing in slowly And let the exhale fall like a stone dropping into deep water

Now ask yourself, where in my body does my intuition speak to me most clearly? Don't think, just notice. Maybe you feel a slight tightness, a gentle pull, a warm sensation, a drop, so a heavy feeling, a lift, a lighter feeling, a soft yes, a clear no, or just a small [00:12:00] shift somewhere inside you

Whatever you noticed in the first three seconds, that's your intuitive channel speaking. And if nothing came, that's okay too. Noticing the stillness is also information. And just whisper gently, "I'm listening." And if you want help strengthening that connection, supporting your body and clearing your energy enough to actually hear yourself, my free Ground and Protect guided meditation will help you anchor into that space every single day.

It's waiting in the show notes for you, and it's the perfect companion for the work we're doing here. Your intuition isn't outside you. It's not something you can [00:13:00] chase. It's in your breath, your body, your bones, the quietest parts of you. It speaks in the language your soul chose, and it has been whispering your whole life.

Just because you doubted it before doesn't mean you can't trust it now. Just because it was doesn't mean it will be. And when you're ready to deepen into your intuitive language, I'll be here ready and waiting. With love, Carina.
