Jake and Rach talk their biggest passions, pitfalls, and everything in between
Jake Scott: [00:00:00] Welcome to the Biggest Fan podcast.
Rachel Scott: Wow. Welcome. Welcome.
Jake Scott: Here we are. Finally.
Rachel Scott: I know we have been talking about doing a podcast together for more than a year, and we just, we just knew we were going to do it. Like, I think the second it came up, we were like, we, this is something we need to do,
Jake Scott: which we, we've been fighting it because we don't want to be, there's a billion and a half podcasts out there.
Rachel Scott: Oh yeah.
Jake Scott: But we felt like we needed to do it.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. Well, and we were like, okay, so we'll be the billion in first podcast, but we're also the billion in first humans. Like, is
Jake Scott: that our number?
Rachel Scott: We, that's the, that's the number. There's a few between us and then, and so, you know, we were born so we can also start a podcasts.
Jake Scott: Yeah. Okay.
Rachel Scott: So
Jake Scott: that's the prerequisite for
Rachel Scott: the podcast. That's the prerequisite.
Jake Scott: You're alive.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. So
Jake Scott: here we're,
everyone
Rachel Scott: should hear you talk.
Jake Scott: Here we are.
Rachel Scott: Uh, the second thing that stopped us, I think, or that took us so long to kind of decide what we wanted to do was. That we didn't know what we wanted to [00:01:00] do it about because we were like
Jake Scott: mm-hmm.
Rachel Scott: We don't wanna be, we don't feel like we're experts on anything.
Jake Scott: We're absolutely not experts on anything.
Rachel Scott: Right. Okay. So speak for yourself. My gosh. I mean, you
Jake Scott: especially
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: But like, what do we have to talk about? You know, that was, I
Rachel Scott: mean, that was the biggest
Jake Scott: thing. I
Rachel Scott: think that's, yeah. Well, I By, because we can talk for hours, baby.
Jake Scott: Oh yeah.
Rachel Scott: I think you mean like, what are we gonna, we're not, we're not gonna be like, this is our Yeah. X, y, Z podcast and then
Jake Scott: I'm no self-help. I'm no doctor.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. But I think we flipped it and we were like, wait, we have made lots of mistakes due to kind of the theme of our podcast, which we've talked about, which is just being passionate about everything, going full force on everything we do, and diving in headfirst, whether it's smart or not.
So we lead our lives with passion, and, and that is for better or for worse, it's not always bad. It's not always good. A lot of times it's bad. It's always accepting. A
Jake Scott: lot of times it leads to destruction. Yeah. We,
Rachel Scott: we actually were in a crazy, which we'll get into at some point, situation [00:02:00] in our life like a few months ago, and then we were like, oh, we should do this is the podcast biggest fan.
'cause whatever we're into,
Jake Scott: we are
Rachel Scott: the biggest fan.
Jake Scott: We are the biggest fan. We are evangelistic about whatever we're into. Yeah. If you know us and we're in a new phase, you're gonna hear about it. You're gonna hear about all the reasons why you should do this. Hopefully
Rachel Scott: in a non annoying way, but we're unsure and don't tell us like
Jake Scott: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Like I,
Rachel Scott: we don't wanna know this is who we are. It's maturing, but it ain't changing
Jake Scott: and we die. I mean, we dive so headfirst.
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: So hard.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. So that's, that's what we felt like, and, and also we're obviously joking about how it can be hard. At the same time, it's also what, how we wanna lead life, which is with
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: Passion and, and just,
Jake Scott: it makes it fun.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. Well, and also, I mean, I do think that there's purpose, it's like. Our passions aren't there for nothing, you know, it's about refining them. Maturing them. So yeah, we love talking about what we're passionate about together. We love talking about it with other people.
So it felt like that's kind of a uniting factor as [00:03:00] humans. I know. We're not the only ones.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: Uh, so that's the podcast. That's what we finally came up with. Here we are.
Jake Scott: And we'll see.
Rachel Scott: Kinda did we say our names? I'm Rachel Scott.
Jake Scott: I'm Jake Scott.
Rachel Scott: This is Michel Mickey Scott. This is so very, she will be here.
Jake Scott: A lot of this podcast. Podcast. She'll make lots of cameos.
Rachel Scott: Uh,
Jake Scott: and we'll just kinda see where this podcast goes. Like each week it's is gonna be something new, different, whatever we're into at the moment, wherever our hearts and passions are, are taking us
Rachel Scott: whatever mistake we're, we're unpacking. We're currently whatever ship we're currently on board that is sinking.
Titanic style. Hopefully
Jake Scott: they're not all,
Rachel Scott: we are Jack and Rose and you are dead, my friend. So Yeah,
Jake Scott: I You would totally let me freeze the bed. Oh, hundred percent. No,
Rachel Scott: that would be so sad. I can't even joke about that,
Jake Scott: but, but if one person's on the door, I'll get Well, like
Rachel Scott: you're a gentleman. Come on.
Jake Scott: Classic.
Okay.
Rachel Scott: Uh, so yeah, then we, so that's the podcast. And, uh, we felt like, what better to start it with than
Jake Scott: our love story.
Rachel Scott: I know. I was like, how do I say this without sounding so cheesy? I was gonna say our passion for each other. [00:04:00]
Jake Scott: Hey, I also, I mean, look, if, if we, if the theme of this podcast we're talking about, the things that we're passionate about, you are the thing I love more than anything in the world.
Rachel Scott: Well, yeah. And
Jake Scott: so of course we're gonna talk about our story.
Rachel Scott: Yes. How we got, here we are. And also it's how these two tornadoes came together to create an F five. And so that's, uh, that's our thi that's our first episode. Wow. Our love story. How we film, how we met, how we fell in love, how we came to be here in this moment, shooting a podcast,
Jake Scott: episode one.
Rachel Scott: Let's go baby.
Jake Scott: Where do you wanna start?
Rachel Scott: Start at the
Jake Scott: beginning. You are, you are, you are much. Uh, I tend to take the the long way.
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: Whenever we get into stories, I like to give all the details.
Rachel Scott: No, they'll learn this if we're having a podcast.
Jake Scott: So don't, why don't you start and then I will fill in the holes.
Rachel Scott: Okay. You didn't wanna start with your birth year 'cause that's what was on the list first for you. All
Jake Scott: right.
Rachel Scott: Fair. Um, well, okay, so yes. So we met in LA where we lived for, I mean, that's where we met. Married, had kids, [00:05:00] the whole everything. So we, I had been in LA for a little under two years and it was 2014.
Hmm. Uh, summer 2014. I, yeah, I moved there not knowing anyone really. I knew one person and then I met this crew of people who just became like family. Um, as you know, people do when you're in your early twenties and especially when you move somewhere new, you kind of band together. So yeah, I had. In the se in the summer that I met Jake, it was July.
I had been out of a relationship for however long, six months or so, and so I was living my single life. I felt like I was supposed to be single. I felt like if I was gonna be married, which I obviously I wanted, I, you know, I did want to be married, but I wanted, I was gonna marry the ex-boyfriend in like two more years from then.
Mm-hmm. So I had my life planned out. I was single then, you know, on purpose. And
Jake Scott: you are making this so much more chill than it was.
Rachel Scott: Okay. Why don't you, what, [00:06:00] what, what's your version of this?
Jake Scott: It was, I, okay. So you that what you just said, all of it's factually true. You'd been there for about two.
Rachel Scott: All of it's factually true.
Jake Scott: What a statement. It's, but there was such a layer of, of, uh, drama that you just glazed
Rachel Scott: open it. Okay. The drama had not begun. You brought the drama with you from Arkansas. What?
Jake Scott: Let's go
Rachel Scott: the stage. I, of course, I was dramatic about my life. Well,
Jake Scott: yeah.
Rachel Scott: I mean, I was a young, young lady on, on the, you were
Jake Scott: an aspiring actress.
You moved to, to California from Texas, and you're chasing your dreams.
Rachel Scott: You, yes. This wasn't my full life story again. You wanna go back to the nineties? We
Jake Scott: gotta add a little flare
Rachel Scott: here. Okay. All right. All right. I, I had this, well, the biggest drama was that this other relationship, truly, I was like, that's the guy I'm gonna marry, but until I marry him, I'm going to be single and live my life.
Jake Scott: Yeah. Yeah. It was very like,
Rachel Scott: flourish at the end. Yeah.
Jake Scott: Like written in stone tablets. Like this is my, oh, it was my husband.
Rachel Scott: Yes. I was full in
Jake Scott: with that. Our stars are just not aligned right now. It just is a timing thing.
Rachel Scott: A hundred percent.
Jake Scott: Meanwhile, [00:07:00] I am, uh. Fresh outta college, coming from the great state of Arkansas.
It's
Rachel Scott: hard for you to start there,
Jake Scott: wasn't it? It was really hard. I had a lot of things I needed to say, but, uh,
Rachel Scott: one thing that is cute about you that I think is fun to share is that Jake has been a romantic at heart since he was like five years old, which those may Okay. That I'm going to, those will be stories for another time.
But he, he was looking for his wife from five on.
Jake Scott: Don't, don't get me started. We'll derail here. Um, I, I moved summer 2014, like you said. Yeah. I moved to California pursuing music. Never had ever even like, slightly considered moving to LA It all happened very quickly and then I moved to town. No, nobody. Had gotten connected to,
Rachel Scott: knew your guy you were working with.
Jake Scott: I knew the guy I was working with, and then I got connected to, to one person, shout out, or we have to say his name.
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: Bo Wyrick.
Rachel Scott: You wanna give us social security as well? We love you.
Jake Scott: Bo was like the, um, he was kind of like the ringleader of this, this crew,
Rachel Scott: the crew that I was talking about, crew that I, that [00:08:00] I became friends with.
They, he was definitely one of just, he was the connector of so many of us. Yeah. And was such a, I mean we're, we love Bo For life. For life. And so he got, Jake got connected to him and Bo on
Jake Scott: Facebook.
Rachel Scott: Okay. Way to age yourself.
Jake Scott: I mean, honestly. Yeah. Well, so I slid in on his Facebook dms and uh, he basically was like, yeah, man.
Cool. Uh, just. Text me when you come to town. And I was like, okay. So I, I get to town, I literally know no one else. Yeah. So I text him was like,
Rachel Scott: but just you're great in that situation.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
I
Rachel Scott: jake's like, take me to a circus. I'll be a clown next week. Like, he's ready to go.
Jake Scott: All right.
Rachel Scott: So Bo was your first circus,
Jake Scott: but Bo was my first, my first contact,
Rachel Scott: yes.
Jake Scott: And I, uh, I just texted him. I was like, Hey man, I'm here. So like, let me know if you like want to get a coffee or something. He was like, okay. Cool. Yeah, all my friends are playing ultimate Frisbee Saturday morning if you want to come. And I was like, I mean, I, where else do I gotta be? So I, I was there with bells on.
[00:09:00] He
Rachel Scott: was there with bells
Jake Scott: on, got my McDonald's breakfast on the way.
Rachel Scott: Ooh, that'll hit right
Jake Scott: now. Got a little sausage, egg and cheese biscuit.
Rachel Scott: And the, the very Jake Scott thing about this situation is that this happened five days after he moved to la.
Jake Scott: That's very true.
Rachel Scott: So he, you know,
Jake Scott: why? Whatever.
Rachel Scott: Why, why is that you?
'cause of course, of course. It's like, oh, I, well, and at some point you'll tell your story about, like, you, you, you release music and then boom, I'm in LA and then boom, I meet my wife. Meanwhile, the rest of us are toil in trouble and
Jake Scott: I'm sitting, oh, whatever. Come on, come on. You're the bell of the ball. I get there, I show up to Frisbee.
There was like 50 people there, something. There was a ton of people there.
Rachel Scott: 20
Jake Scott: and I.
Rachel Scott: 2050.
Jake Scott: There's a lot of people there. It's a
Rachel Scott: usc
Jake Scott: maybe I was just overwhelmed. Stars in my eyes and I, but anyway, I, I get introduced to everybody and then one of the last people I meet is this beautiful girl and [00:10:00] Rachel.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. And I, my impression of him was, well, I was like, speaking of USCI was like, this guy is for sure a freshman at USC playing football. There is no question. Freshman, I wasn't that far off. Okay. I just thought, because Jake is like. Such a big dude, you know, he just didn't look like the brooding artist type, which I guess he isn't.
Um, well, he's, you're an artist. I'm a little broody, not a, okay, you gotta, you got a bit of sprinkle a brood in there. But you are, yes, you are broody, but you know what I mean. I'm, you don't not, bro, honey, I'm not broody.
Jake Scott: I'm not broody.
Rachel Scott: You've got the brood. You don't read it though. And so I see him and I'm just like, okay, this is just a football player.
That's so sweet. He's, you're a little scholarship because every week at this little ultimate Frisbee game. Um, which Wow. Do I feel a little dorky talking about?
Jake Scott: Well, yeah. How random it is. Like, oh, we have our weekly
Rachel Scott: ultimate, I mean, yeah. What a whole fun way to spend Saturday. It was, and, uh, I mean, you didn't need at that age to burn 3,500 calories in an hour, but we did.
Uh, [00:11:00] and so I, there were always new people who came because again, this was like the band of, you know, orphans in la So it was just like, if you're new to town mm-hmm. Come meet people.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: So I just didn't think twice. It was like, I, I knew though that you stood out. I was like, okay, I can feel this isn't just a new guy or a new person who it's like, okay, cool.
New person. It's hot. It was like, okay, people are kind of checking this guy out. Ooh, there's a, okay. Chill. The
Jake Scott: truth is
Rachel Scott: revealed. Chill.
Jake Scott: Chill. Never heard this part of
Rachel Scott: the story. I, yeah, well, I just, you made an, you made a, you made some waves, but I was like, my waves are going in another direction, but That's so cute.
He's here.
Jake Scott: The, the other guy was there that day.
Rachel Scott: Yes, he was. And so I just didn't think anything about. Us, uh, you know, attraction, nothing. I just noticed you. However, we did end up.
You're
Jake Scott: telling me zero. No, nothing clocked at all. 'cause I know for me, I saw you and I was like, okay,
Rachel Scott: what's up? Shouting. Yeah.
But you also were not in the head. You, you noticed me, but you weren't like zeroing in on me.
Jake Scott: I wasn't, because I met so many of, in my recollection, 50 people a year. [00:12:00] 5 50,
Rachel Scott: 500 is what you're gonna say next year when you tell this story.
Jake Scott: But I thought it was hilarious that they, they at some point in the game were like, oh, Jake, you need to guard Rachel.
Yes. You, y'all are totally matched up. You should just guard, guard each other. And I was like, um,
Rachel Scott: okay, but wait, I didn't finish what I was saying. So, so no, you didn't make, like, I, I, there was, there was, I noticed you and you stood out, but it wasn't like there is. Something I did think in my head, oh, he'll probably make other guy jealous because he's like a significant, you know.
So you
Jake Scott: were using, you were playing
Rachel Scott: the chess game? I wasn't using you. No, I wasn't.
Jake Scott: There was a, there was a sprinkle of that.
Rachel Scott: Okay, here's how it went down, here's how it went down. You, as you already said, whoever was in charge. I don't know even remember how we got matched up to guard each other, but we did, which is so funny.
'cause again, USC guy 455 pounds six nine. But, and so I was like, by
Jake Scott: Goliath,
Rachel Scott: dainty, dainty, little me is gonna be guarded by [00:13:00] big boy. But in my head, in my head I was like, oh, I bet this is gonna make, you know, you know, whatever.
Jake Scott: Okay.
Rachel Scott: And so, alright,
Jake Scott: another truth is revealed here,
Rachel Scott: you know? But that was all that I thought because you, because you're, I could see that you were attractive and, and like all the guy, I mean the dudes there were all about Jake.
They were, whoa, look at this guy. He's so athletic. He's so, oh, I'm never going
Jake Scott: after.
Rachel Scott: And Okay. And so, so it was just like a, just a little sprinkle notice. But then, so then when we were guarding each other, we obviously chatted.
Jake Scott: Mm.
Rachel Scott: And, uh, that's when I think, no, that's when I was like, so what'd you move here for?
But in my head, I already knew. But then you were like, oh no, I'm a musician. And I was like, I, first time, I've been wrong in my life
Jake Scott: ever. I,
Rachel Scott: I, uh, I was like, okay, I'm shook. And so that's all I really remember us talking about in that moment. Yeah.
Jake Scott: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like you said, it, it was. Inconsequential as far as like the, the light bulb [00:14:00] moment for either one of us.
But that was the day we met.
Rachel Scott: Okay. This is a question because again, you stuck out to me for multiple reasons, but did I stick out to you in that same way? Or was it just, obviously you were meeting, you know,
Jake Scott: no, you definitely
Rachel Scott: four to 5,000 people, so it was like,
Jake Scott: you definitely stuck out to me. 'cause I, I remember when I was guarding you, I made you laugh a couple times.
Like we just said, like something stupid back to each other. And I was like, I loved that feeling, making you laugh particularly. And I was like, Ooh,
Rachel Scott: see, I don't know if I remember this.
Jake Scott: Yeah. And, and I just remember it because I was so, I was nervous being there, you know, I was meeting all these people for the first time.
Rachel Scott: Just the little butters.
Jake Scott: Yeah. I was just like, oh, I wanna make a good impression on all these people. So like though I did definitely clock that you were beautiful and I loved being around you. It was kind of. I'm meeting this whole
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: Cast of people here, but I knew it was the next time we all hung out.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. So, okay, so let's cut to that. So that happens, and again, this [00:15:00] crew, we hung out all the time. So we, the next time we saw each other was at one of my best friend's daughter's first birthday parties.
Jake Scott: So weird again. It was hold Fri to a one year old's birthday party. Yeah.
Rachel Scott: And so we, that is when I do remember, was that the second time we ever were around each other?
Jake Scott: I think. I think so. 'cause I remember that was the, that was the time where I was like, locked in.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. Well, and I remember I could feel that you were locked in and I was like, okay. All right. This is interesting because, well, I just, it was, you know, it wasn't like I like this because I'm into him too, but I could, you were always from the beginning, just different.
It was like. And I wasn't really consciously thinking these things at this point, but now in retrospect I can see that I, you were in a different spot. It wasn't just like, oh, it feels good to notice that someone is attracted to you. Like, that feels good to human beings. Mm-hmm. And it wasn't the feeling of like, oh, this [00:16:00] mutual, you know, we like each other.
It was just the chemistry we had became clear that day.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: And I remember, I could tell we were talking and I, and you were looking at me obviously while I was talking, and I was like, oh. He's really looking at me.
Jake Scott: He is. He is pining.
Rachel Scott: He is pining a little. That's
Jake Scott: okay. Well, I showed up. I was, I showed up with like three of the girls for some reason.
It was like I was driving. Everybody
Rachel Scott: see this news to me too? That is the most you thing.
Jake Scott: Okay. Three of the girls, meaning like
Rachel Scott: our best friends know, but that's our best friends. That is so you, that you're there a week and you're already driving people to a birthday party for someone you didn't know.
Anyone. I
Jake Scott: dive in, babe. I'm, I'm a head
Rachel Scott: first. It's one of my favorite things about you. It's also very apropos for this podcast. Like you were diving in.
Jake Scott: Oh man.
Rachel Scott: Not only am I coming to crash this party, I'm driving and
Jake Scott: everyone
Rachel Scott: can ride with
Jake Scott: me. I'm riding the trunk, pile em in and uh, I saw you, I mean, there was a sea of children, right?
So I see you across the way and I was like, you and I. I had to, you [00:17:00] know, do the leapfrog of conversations that I didn't necessarily care about to get to you. You were all the way across the party, and, uh, I finally got to you and I was like, I'm not, I'm not leaving this until you leave. So that was the first night where I was like,
Rachel Scott: I think we both felt
Jake Scott: very consciously
Rachel Scott: to spend
Jake Scott: time
Rachel Scott: with you.
Yeah. It wasn't just like, like I, we felt like a spark and, and I didn't know what to do with it. You, you knew what you wanted to do with it.
Jake Scott: I was
Rachel Scott: saying. Yeah. So from there it became, you know, where every time we were all hanging out, we got to know each other more and more.
Jake Scott: And I was asking around about you a lot.
I was getting the drama and I would always play it cool. I was like, all right. So like, tell me about the drama of the whole group. Yeah. You know, 'cause there was like, this is a real number.
Rachel Scott: So were you wondering if I had like a boyfriend? Yes. But you couldn't tell that I didn't. You would've known. You were just wondering my history.
Jake Scott: Yeah. I wanted to know the, the history. 'cause I, yeah, I could tell you probably didn't have a [00:18:00] boyfriend, but I was also like, all right, what's,
Rachel Scott: yeah, what's
Jake Scott: the vibe? I was trying not to be obvious about it to all my friends. Yeah, friends. Tell me about Rachel. Yeah. Tell me about Rachel Kirkendal. I was like, alright, so what's like the group drama?
Every time I asked that question, you came up,
Rachel Scott: they're all like, dude, we've told you,
Jake Scott: they're like asking about it again, bro. But everybody was telling me like, oh yeah, Rachel Kirkendall, you know, she's like. She's the hot girl.
Rachel Scott: Okay. Okay. Please.
Jake Scott: I'm just calling a spade spade honey. Right. And they were all like, yeah, but ooh, she's, you know, she's taken, she's definitely off the market.
She's not with the guy anymore, but they're definitely still like, you know, they're gonna get back there
Rachel Scott: together. There was still stuff going on, but we were very single
Jake Scott: and so everyone was kind of like putting this, this, this, uh, air around the situation of like, this is kind of off limits.
Rachel Scott: Which only entices you more
Jake Scott: well yeah.
'cause I was like, well, I mean, we are vibing so you've always got it. And so we,
Rachel Scott: so yeah, he's warned away from me and, but, but it was just one of those things where well act [00:19:00] where we, we just were drawn to each other. But the biggest, this is the biggest moment where it really became a thing that like we're not just accidentally sitting next to each other at a restaurant and like when we're all at a group dinner, it became a much more intentional that we liked hanging together after the beach day.
Jake Scott: Amen.
Rachel Scott: Yes. So this is, is like
Jake Scott: these dreams. I have to tell a quick version of this.
Rachel Scott: Okay. Okay. Let me just set it up and then you tell it.
Jake Scott: Yep.
Rachel Scott: This is probably two or three weeks after we met, maybe
Jake Scott: Max.
Rachel Scott: Max, and we were all going to the beach on this Saturday, and our mutual best friend at the time, Jake was just getting to know her.
Another shout deserved Melissa Hayes has too. Melissa Gable also will list her social security number in the show notes. Um, she, no one
Jake Scott: is
Rachel Scott: safe. She is, she is a little bit of a female version of Jake. So just a connector. Let's take that. Yes, I love you.
Jake Scott: Melly
Rachel Scott: loves having fun and so she's already become good friends with Jake and I.
Um, she and I, there was a big group each day and I guess. At some point, both of us had [00:20:00] separately talked to her about going to the beach together, like driving together. And she was working down by the beach that day in Santa Monica and, or somewhere over there, something like that. So she was like, Hey, well actually this is the, she said this to you, right?
Yeah, I guess so. Ball
Jake Scott: was yours. She, this is, I'll never forget this day why? This is why it's so significant to me,
Rachel Scott: honestly. Same. Usually you like to put moments on a mountain and just sprinkle chocolate over it for the rest of your life. But
Jake Scott: sprinkle chocolate,
Rachel Scott: you, I, uh, I also have this moment on a mountain.
Jake Scott: Ooh.
Rachel Scott: Mm-hmm.
Jake Scott: Okay. Thank you. She finally, she admits it, uh, yeah. So Melly texts me and she's like, Hey, you wanna go to the beach? And I was like, absolutely. She's like, also, I know you live nearby. My friend Rachel Kirkendal, she needs a ride to the beach. And I was like, absolutely, I'm there. I will pick her up What time?
And then she put us in a group. Well, did she put us in a group or
Rachel Scott: no,
Jake Scott: she gave you my number. She gave you, she gave me your number, and I text you and I spent. 30, 45 minutes rereading this text.
Rachel Scott: Okay. And I also remember once you sent that text, we had text rapport where we [00:21:00] were joking about stuff and I was like, mad game.
Oh, this is fun. This is fun. I've not, but I, again, I was like, we are texting. He'll be my brother. But like, I, I was definitely, it was like, this is more than just, we have a moment where we're talking. This was like we were texting. It was really fun.
Jake Scott: We had, we had,
Rachel Scott: yeah,
Jake Scott: we had Riz
Rachel Scott: Wait and you gotta tell we had such Riz, you dropped down and did.
Jake Scott: Oh, a hundred percent. I second we confirmed like you're picking Rachel up in 45 minutes, I hit the deck. And I did as many pushups as I possibly could because this is the first time you're ever gonna see me with my shirt off.
Rachel Scott: Well, yeah. And I gotta say, that day I was like, okay,
Jake Scott: I tried to get a little pump going.
Rachel Scott: You had, you looked a little Bri
Jake Scott: Well, USCI had to, I had to, I had to live up to the hype, you know, I was 6 9, 4 55 pounds, pounds.
Rachel Scott: Well, by, by then you had shrunk down in size. I was like, all right. He is a musician.
Jake Scott: So yeah. So I'm like, okay. My roommates are like, dude, what is going on? A whole shaking, like, don't worry about I just getting a little, a little bump.
And, uh, I picked you up. And when I tell you, like, that was kind of like a life [00:22:00] changing day for me because we had 45 minutes have
Rachel Scott: chocolates on the mountain. But I
Jake Scott: agree, agree. Absolutely. I agree. I it. But you got the sprinkles of your family. I've got the Hershey's bottle, the 45 minutes in the car driving from Sherman Oaks to wherever we went to the beach.
And on the PCH or something, I mean. I had never in my life connected with somebody like that. Yeah. Like everything was clicking, all our humor was clicking, our stories were clicking,
Rachel Scott: just felt like we'd known each other forever.
Jake Scott: It was crazy. Like you hear people say that like, oh, I've known you my whole life.
It sounds like a Taylor Swift song, but it really genuinely felt like
Rachel Scott: that. Well, those, those, those cliches are cliches for a reason. Yeah.
Jake Scott: Because,
Rachel Scott: you know, they're often rooted in truth, which this was I, the moment I really remember and Sead in my mind is we were coming up over the 4 0 5 over the hill and the sun just like shot up.
Yes. And I think. I think there was a Noah Gunderson song playing
Jake Scott: classic
Rachel Scott: and we were just talking about mu, I was like, oh wow, this feels really natural and really good. Not just natural, you've met people before who [00:23:00] you click with, right? Yeah. But this just felt different, which obviously it was, we got married, but at that time, you know, it was just so new.
Yeah. And this was the longest, you know, every other time we'd been around each other, it had been for just, you know, yeah. A couple minutes, 10 minutes. Yeah. Or groups. So you're, you're chatting and then you're off to the, your other friend. But yeah, the thing that's funny is before we got to the beach, we had to go pick Melissa up from where she was working.
Mm-hmm. She was babysitting. And the mom of the kid, she was babysitting. Melissa told me later, because Melissa right away was like, you two, he likes you. This is, you know, she was team Jake, Rachel.
Jake Scott: It wasn't that hard to tell.
Rachel Scott: No it wasn't. But she was very pro, whereas all the guys were turning, you like, dude, stay away.
This isn't gonna happen. Melissa was like, oh
Jake Scott: yeah.
Rachel Scott: Oh. Like I could just read her mind. So she said, the mom later was like, oh, they're so cute. How long have they been together? And, 'cause we were already just coming in as if we were a couple and. Which is so cute.
Jake Scott: I mean, look at us because like
Rachel Scott: business fan,
Jake Scott: I don't know, I don't know about your experience.
'cause for you it was probably like a little seed of a thing of like, oh, this is fun for me it was like a dump truck of [00:24:00] just like
Rachel Scott: serotonin.
Jake Scott: I am in love with this girl. And, and it wasn't, it wasn't me telling myself I was in love with you. It was just that thing of what I said it, I had never, ever, ever, ever experienced this with somebody.
Yeah. Anyone. Guy, girl, nothing else. I mean it of like, oh, we're just like getting along so well. Yeah. It was like we spoke the same language.
Rachel Scott: It was like that and it, you know, this is, this started that, this hugely started that day or had already started, but this was the first kind of big moment we had together.
And then obviously it continued as we hung out more and more. But I think it's hard to put into words because, you know, I obviously had this different experience where I, it became confusing for me because I really. Did feel like I was going to be with this other person, um, long term and was single right now.
So it was just like, it [00:25:00] was like, I don't know where to put him. I mean, I don't even know how to say in words how it felt because it was just like you weren't, there was no bucket for you.
Jake Scott: Well, you've also always told me that like I was such a different archetype of a guy
Rachel Scott: than you used to. Okay. That's, thank actually you just read my mind 'cause I, that was the thought I forgot.
Well, and this is something we'll probably get into more later in the story, but my whole kind of toxic pattern of relationship and how I fell for people looked really the same in the beginning. And it was always like I wanted. Mystery. I wanted someone who felt unavailable. I wanted someone who it was like, well, how do they feel?
That was what kind of sparked my attraction. And then I would You loved
Jake Scott: the sad boys.
Rachel Scott: Uh, we, well, and not even just, it wasn't that, it was just, it was this, it was if, if someone just felt unavailable, I mean, you could be happy, but feel like you, oh, because I remember a couple moments with you. I was like, he's just friendly with everyone.
Okay. This is just how he [00:26:00] is With every, I mean, it quickly would be snuffed out, but, but those moments are the most
Jake Scott: also, it was an intentional play.
Rachel Scott: Okay. Well, it worked because, see, I want what I can't, I, I, my toxic pattern was wanting what I felt I couldn't have, and then often I would end up, I mean, I was a serial monogamist prior to you, and I would end up in these relationships where I.
You know, sometimes six months are in or maybe more, whatever. I would kind of be like, whoa, wait, wake up and be like, what was this? Like I, because once that initial kind of
Jake Scott: the hot air's released off the balloon.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. The initial, you know, chemistry in your brain subsides and you get in the relationship and all the myster over, it was like,
Jake Scott: mm-hmm.
Rachel Scott: Um, do I even know this person? Am I even into this? And sometimes I was, but it was always clearly like, this is not the person for me. Obviously all those relationships ended in different ways. But yeah, so that was my, that was my toxic pattern that I now see as that [00:27:00] I'm past it. But at the time I didn't see that at all.
So Jake, it was like he wasn't in that bucket. I could tell he liked me. Everyone told me he liked me. Yeah. I could see it or stop playing the unavailable bucket. I could feel it. Which, which in my, again, in my unhealth was a big turnoff before. And with you, it was not a turnoff. It was like, I was like, well, I, you know, I love being around him.
I love talking to him, but I didn't, I genuinely didn't have what I would've labeled as romantic feelings for you, because my romantic feelings were always in this toxic pattern mm-hmm. That you didn't fit in. I mean, obviously now I'm like, well, yeah, thank God your husband didn't come from that, you know, bad pattern.
But all that, that's, that's, you know, the whole story. So that was kind of where my head was at, and yeah. All of this was subconscious at the time.
Jake Scott: Yeah. And then you,
Rachel Scott: did that make sense how? Yeah. A hundred
Jake Scott: percent. A hundred percent. And like I,
Rachel Scott: yours was much more simple. You just met me and fell in love.
Jake Scott: Well, I also had really been in any relationships before you, like [00:28:00] I had had a couple girlfriends,
Rachel Scott: but you met a lot. You had so many close girl. Friends who this wasn't happening with. You know, you knew the difference where it's like, oh,
Jake Scott: yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no. It was undeniable for me. I,
Rachel Scott: well, and we also, 'cause you are, you did have a bit of a pattern where you would
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: Build someone up when they weren't around you. Yeah. But we were around each other all the time and it was like, the more we were around each other, the more we wanted to be around each other. So that's, that's kind of what continued from that beach day. It was then it was full steam ahead where, you know, we all hung out all the time, as we've said, and we would just end up laughing together in corners of the party.
Yeah. We would
Jake Scott: always find a way to slip away from like the, we were, we were always like in the room, but we were in the corner.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. We were, it was just, we just got to know each other more and more. And the flame only got bigger, even though I would not have called it that.
Jake Scott: It was raging,
Rachel Scott: babe raging. But I was just like, yeah, he's my brother.
Jake Scott: Oh yeah.
Rachel Scott: Who are we gonna set you up? I would intentionally be like, oh, SHA, because I didn't wanna lead you on.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: So as time went on, I'd be like, oh. I need to set you up with someone like [00:29:00] what? You know, and he would just be like,
Jake Scott: okay, yeah. Didn't buy it for a second.
Rachel Scott: No, you,
Jake Scott: yeah, because we were always, you know, we were texting, we were at that stage in the relationship,
Rachel Scott: but not, we weren't really Jake.
We were, we were texting, but it wasn't like,
Jake Scott: my memory is that we were texting a lot.
Rachel Scott: No, no, no. Listen, once we finally, later everything we started dating, which we'll get to it, then we were texting in the way that you text when you're about to, when you're dating someone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We were just texting like, Hey, you know, there's always intention behind it.
Jake Scott: Yeah,
Rachel Scott: it was just different. I'm just saying it wasn't like we were having those like long phone. Yeah. We didn't speak on the phone at all.
Jake Scott: No, you're right. You're right at the beginning though. You're right.
Rachel Scott: Because then things got a little dramatic.
Jake Scott: They got real dramatic.
Rachel Scott: They got dramatic, you know, because there was still a third party involved.
Who, who? You know,
Jake Scott: and it was a small group of friends, right? So like word got around it,
Rachel Scott: small 500
Jake Scott: was 5,000 actually, according to you. But, uh, you know, not to make up much of a thing of it, but like word got back.
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: And then drama in followed.
Rachel Scott: Well, yeah. 'cause obviously there [00:30:00] was this other guy involved.
Who, and, and, and you know, it was more, I don't even really, it doesn't matter at this point. I don't remember all the things, but I know that it became a thing where Jake was like, okay, I'm being told. You know, like this feels dramatic.
Jake Scott: Oh yeah.
Rachel Scott: And why? Where we had never talked about any of it. Well,
Jake Scott: I was trying to be very respectful of you.
You had, you had told me that you had, you know, an ex relationship that you were still very hung up on and all this stuff. And had
Rachel Scott: I even at that point,
Jake Scott: you, you had, like you had mentioned it
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: To me and so I was just trying to be respectful and not like, come on too strong or whatever. Also, I was terrified of, of getting my heart broken.
Yeah. If I were like, Hey, you know, can I take you on a date? And you're like. Never, I'll never date you ever. In your, in my life. And,
Rachel Scott: well, and you didn't wanna pop that balloon too early.
Jake Scott: No, I didn't.
Rachel Scott: But I, knowing that there was also, if you hadn't, if there hadn't been someone else in the picture, you, we, you absolutely Oh yeah.
Would've been like, let's go to date. Oh, I would've shot my
Jake Scott: shot with him like a month. Yeah.
Rachel Scott: But I, yeah. So eventually he and the other guy have [00:31:00] a conversation. I know that conversations happened. And so then finally after that, Jake and I are like, okay, should we talk about this whole situation? Like fully for the first time?
Jake Scott: Yeah. Because it was just, it was this huge elephant in the room of like, uh, you know what just happened? Right, right. It's wild because
Rachel Scott: it was all drama. And so, so then we fully talk about, you know, okay, we have this connection. Yes, we both know it. But I was really,
Jake Scott: and I even remember, I'm not trying to pat myself on the back here, but I even remember in that conversation trying to be, go
Rachel Scott: ahead and pat away.
Jake Scott: Oh, I'm warmed up. My arm is stretched.
Rachel Scott: You want me to get outta a back scratch for you?
Jake Scott: But like, I remember being. Trying to be respectful of like, Hey look, I would just love to take you on a date. I like you. Yeah. I don't feel like that's very surprising to you. We, I talk to you all the time. I'm always trying to get a be around you, lemme take you on a date.
And that's how I remember that going down.
Rachel Scott: Yeah, no, you, I do remember you always saying, I just wanna take you on a date, but I, I also was trying to be, you know, give me my [00:32:00] backpack, uh, upfront with you because I didn't wanna leave leave you on of like, I brutally,
Jake Scott: so brutally,
Rachel Scott: so I had to be brutal because I mean, okay.
It would be like. We were literally, if we were in the same room, there was no keeping us apart. And I, as much as I would try, so it, I, I knew the way I was acting was like, well, she likes me too, but I genuinely had so many other unresolved feelings. Yeah. So I was like, I, which at
Jake Scott: first I thought was bs.
Rachel Scott: Yes.
That's what, and
Jake Scott: then I believed it
Rachel Scott: when Rico Yeah. I was like, no, I am genuinely confused and I genuinely need you to know that. Like, this is very real. I still love him. I, yeah. I don't know what's gonna happen. Which was the truth because this was all happening in real time. Like I had just met you a month or two before and it was just like, this felt like a train that we got on that I was like, I don't know where this train is going.
I don't think it's going to marriage. I mean, I've never clearly never been more wrong. I was just like, we will never. [00:33:00] This is not, I, I couldn't bring myself at that point. I know later I said it, but at that point I couldn't bring myself to say to you like, there's nothing here. We're not gonna date.
Because I knew.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: I, I, I was, I was genuinely like, there's something here. This isn't in your head. I'm not gonna gaslight you,
Jake Scott: but you were honest. You were like, I'm very confused about the other situation.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. Well, I was like, I, I think I'm still gonna be with him.
Jake Scott: Uh, well, not at first. 'cause I had so much hope.
I remember I went home for the holidays.
Rachel Scott: Well then you were plugging your ears up, baby. Because I was literally,
Jake Scott: honey. Denial is my superpower.
Rachel Scott: Well, and I also think, I felt at that point, this is something I remember feeling like I was still getting to know you. I wasn't gonna give you my whole heart feelings for this other person.
Like that felt so personal.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: That it was like, Hey, that's going on. Just so you know, there is no. There is no definitive anything with us. Like, I have no clue what's gonna happen. Yeah,
Jake Scott: that's true. That's true.
Rachel Scott: Um, but I wasn't also gonna get into my like nitty gritty because we're still getting to know each other and so Yeah.
Yeah. [00:34:00] So we had conversations like that, and then after, after we had that initial conversation where we addressed our, you know, situation with each other, it was just obviously more and more flames on the fire for us. Yes. The other situation, I, I was confused, but I really wasn't. 'cause at that time I was like,
Jake Scott: no, it turned into a full on like twilight style love triangle.
Okay. There were teams, team Jake's mind team me. It's, I, I just am calling a spade. Like, that's, that's how I, people were talking to me, they're like, so
Rachel Scott: yeah, it was a thing. We're team. It was, it was definitely a thing.
Jake Scott: I was like, okay,
Rachel Scott: sweet. I mean, yeah, looking back I'm like, there was no other team to be on, but it definitely come on.
It definitely, I, well, all my friends were definitely team to you. However, they would never say it to me because I would be like, listen, listen, listen. I don't like Jake. Okay, I don't like him. We are not gonna be together. But this, I just need you guys to know this. And they're all like, okay, we get it, but you don't.
Why are you still talking about it girl? Really going on about it. Yeah, you're really bringing him up a lot. But they knew to just go slow [00:35:00] with me because I think, I think that unlike Twilight, we all knew she was gonna be with Edward. I was genuinely like, I don't what is this? Because I had so set my mind on what I thought my life was going to be with him, the other guy.
And also, not only that I, I was like stuck. Like it was deeper than just feelings for someone. I was stuck in my old ways. That kept me, you know, I felt like there was this elusive quality. It was like, will this other guy and I happen or not? And that mystery was addictive to me. And it was like a drug that was part of your pattern.
It was fully part of my pattern. And so I'm on this, I'm essentially a drug addict over here with this other guy. For real though. And it was like. I couldn't see clearly because of that drug, so to speak.
Jake Scott: Mm-hmm.
Rachel Scott: And so that was the confusion I was in. And so then Christmas comes, you know,
Jake Scott: well we had to, this was a fun part of the story.
So we get to,
Rachel Scott: well, remind me, I don't remember.
Jake Scott: We get to, this is about [00:36:00] six months, the whole saga. And then we get to the point where like, you're going home for Christmas and you sit me down, you know, sit me down, but we're ha we have a conversation and you're kinda like, oh yeah, I just need some space.
Rachel Scott: Mm-hmm.
Jake Scott: I don't really know what I want. I'm very confused. I need space. So I'm gonna go home for like three weeks. And I don't think we should talk. And of course my heart shatters into a billion pieces.
Rachel Scott: I mean, so mature sounding me shocking.
Jake Scott: I mean, in my mind, you were the wisest person on the planet. I was.
Yes, of course. Like, you need space. You should go, go home, be with your family. You won't. And I was like trying to be this like, you know, night and shy. You won't hear a word from me. I were
Rachel Scott: so
Jake Scott: trying to be here. I'll a lockbox. I'll honor your, your wishes
Rachel Scott: and then I'll get what I want.
Jake Scott: But yeah, well, yeah, a hundred percent.
But I. Course, you know,
Rachel Scott: iWriter. Oh, he, so we have a conversation. I'm writer conversation the night before, uh, I'm flying out the next day. And that morning after we'd had, we'd talked, I have an email from him that's like, hello, Rachel. Just, I can tell he's crafted this thing to perfection. He's like, I am, I am Shakespeare here.
And [00:37:00] uh, attached to the email are two songs that he wrote about me.
Jake Scott: Oh yeah. Like full sin. Oh, just wrote you two songs full on. I was like, you're not gonna hear from me for three weeks, but Merry Christmas's two songs. Here's an email. And I didn't even text, I didn't even text you. I emailed you
Rachel Scott: no email.
Very
Jake Scott: formal. I
Rachel Scott: feel like we did email a lot. What were we doing?
Jake Scott: I don't know, man.
Rachel Scott: Okay, so I get the email.
Jake Scott: I look back as long as emails too and it's just cringe Fist five I
Rachel Scott: not something I'll be looking back on. Yes.
Jake Scott: I did the, I yeah, it was, it was,
Rachel Scott: well 'cause one of the songs he released California Ring.
Oh yeah,
Jake Scott: that one. I put it out. Yeah.
Rachel Scott: I always loved it. So I go home and I'm still to my family telling the same, they know everything that's going on. And he and I aren't talking, I am still talking with the other guy, but I'm just playing these songs.
Jake Scott: Let's, let's, let's say that one again, but slower.
Didn't say a word,
Rachel Scott: honey. Let's just say I never told the other guy not to talk to me.
Jake Scott: Oh, wow. Okay. That's, that's a truth revealed. Just
Rachel Scott: me. I
Jake Scott: got the
Rachel Scott: lockbox. I have literally told you that. Yeah. And you choose to make it this saga. Like I said,
Jake Scott: denial is my
Rachel Scott: superpower. [00:38:00] Well, I need, I need, listen, I think that that's fair.
To go back to the drug analogy. I needed to deal, let's get back to the, to deal. I needed to go to some rehab before I could deal with a new relationship. Okay.
Jake Scott: No, no, no. You needed to go on a bender before you could deal with
Rachel Scott: the new relationship. Let's actually very fair and very accurate scientifically for addicts.
Jake Scott: Yeah. Honestly,
Rachel Scott: quick bender. So I, I, um. Go home. I'm playing the songs to just all my friends, my family, but I'm like, Ugh,
Jake Scott: the song this guy wrote about me aren't I, is such a heartthrob.
Rachel Scott: Okay, shut
Jake Scott: up. I'm irresistible. It's not
Rachel Scott: like that.
Jake Scott: And meanwhile I've been, I'm in Arkansas, like, like weeping and fasting.
Oh,
Rachel Scott: I remember I saw
Jake Scott: a of, it was Christmas. I was eating everything on my site.
Rachel Scott: Oh, you were, you were also on a bender.
Jake Scott: I was on a
Rachel Scott: bender. And you, you fully, I remember I saw a picture of you at a party, like on Instagram or something, and you, I just was like, oh, I can tell he's pining, but I will say, you were at a fun party and you looked cute.
And I was like, Aw. Oh well. And so, so yeah, so savage. So that kind of, that was a [00:39:00] few, like three weeks or so. And that started a part of the story where I got to kind of taste what it would be like.
Jake Scott: Your bender face,
Rachel Scott: my bi. Okay. Please. To date the other guy again, I love
Jake Scott: that drugs have been so weaved into this story.
Rachel Scott: I mean, I've never actually made that analogy, but it's so accurate for how my brain worked at that time. Like Yeah. It was a full addiction.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: Um, true.
Jake Scott: Yeah. You
Rachel Scott: get addicted to, and it was so me. It was, it was, it was not just, it was all, for years of my life, I was in this addictive relationship pattern.
Jake Scott: Mm-hmm.
Rachel Scott: Um, so yeah, we, we come back from, we come back from Christmas and we have the groups all together and it's gonna be the first time we see each other. Yeah, I remember you were late. And I feel like
Jake Scott: intentionally,
Rachel Scott: I literally was like, I know. Oh
Jake Scott: yeah,
Rachel Scott: I know it. I had to play
Jake Scott: it cool.
Rachel Scott: Not too late to where I might've left already.
Jake Scott: Yeah, absolutely. I was like, I need to be like 25 minutes late to this.
Rachel Scott: Oh, 25 seconds late. You were not 20. I was somewhere in the middle of those two things. He was late. And so he comes in and I remember us making eye [00:40:00] contact across the room.
Jake Scott: Oh, babe, you, you were grinning.
Rachel Scott: Well, yeah. You're cheesing. Ear to ear.
Ear. Despite, despite myself. Could
Jake Scott: he got it. Yo,
Rachel Scott: good. Not help but connect with you like that.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: I literally couldn't help it. It it, it was like a, the opposite. It was like lighting a match, like the fire's gonna come. So, so we have that silly moment across the room and then later, 'cause the, the whole thing was after Christmas we'll talk.
That was what we had said. Yeah. You know, three weeks before. So then
Jake Scott: meanwhile, I'm storyboarding this conversation
Rachel Scott: in my room. He's got note cards and I burned them. So we get, he takes me home that night and. It was like the talk and I could feel your plans around it. Your, in your expectation and your, um, prediction of what I was going to say.
Yeah. And I was literally, I literally couldn't stand you for it. I was just like,
Jake Scott: for lack of a better word, I kind of came in with like a bit of, uh, [00:41:00] entitlement around it. Cocky,
Rachel Scott: well, yeah, you, well, okay. Because what I said to him was, I am still in the same spot. Like I
Jake Scott: uhhuh,
Rachel Scott: I don't know what's gonna happen.
Like yes, this is still here between us, but also I'm not like, yeah, the other, you know, at that point, I don't remember if we were kinda things between, I mean it's really, I don't wanna get into all that, but like, we were just starting to hang out a little bit and which was actually ended up being a great thing for you.
But like, it definitely was not helping ease my confusion at that time. So I basically was just like, Hey, things are in the same spot. And you got a little bit
Jake Scott: Oh, I was spicy
Rachel Scott: Because of your entitlement around.
Jake Scott: Yeah. I was like,
Rachel Scott: pardon me. I I did the three weeks I was silent. I, I put
Jake Scott: in
Rachel Scott: these songs before put Yeah.
And he did. I don't remember what you said. Like, I don't remember.
Jake Scott: Yeah, I don't either. But it was, it was, I was not happy.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. And that I was literally for the first time, like, I'm turned off. I am, we will never speak even again. Will [00:42:00] we even be friends? Like I,
Jake Scott: I will
Rachel Scott: tell I am not, this is never going to happen.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: Like genuinely, I was just like, Hmm. All that attraction, it felt like everything just died between us.
Jake Scott: Well, that was the first time I believed you. That was the first time
Rachel Scott: I was, 'cause I, that was the first time I meant it where it was like, I fully don't feel it just shut me down so hard. Yeah. It's actually a testament to our connection though, because in the past when I kind of cuts felt that shut off of feelings, I'll never feel them again.
And with you it was like, it obviously rebirthed, but um, in a whole better way. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, we, um. So, yeah. That, that ended not, well, really, like we weren't fighting. We were just like, you were very disappointed.
Jake Scott: I was crushed.
Rachel Scott: You were crushed. And you hand, you
Jake Scott: were, you were a bit blunt.
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: You were just like, no, this isn't mm-hmm.
Not gonna happen. And I could feel that you didn't like how I was acting,
Rachel Scott: which
Jake Scott: only probably made, I probably tried to overcompensate. And then
Rachel Scott: I do remember it was raining outside the car. Which
Jake Scott: a, which, so a mean, come on. It's a storybook. But for me it was, [00:43:00] it was very, I genuinely couldn't stay close to you because it would just rip my heart out.
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: And so I was kinda like, okay, cool. Well then I'm gonna take a step back. Like, I can't, I can't be, that
Rachel Scott: was the first time we've really separated. Yeah. Like, we weren't talking.
Jake Scott: I mean it, yeah.
Rachel Scott: No, we, I don't remember us.
Jake Scott: Yeah. We didn't
Rachel Scott: talk. I feel like you went outta town some talk.
Jake Scott: I went, I was, I was working a lot.
I was going to Nashville a lot. And I was outta town a bunch.
Rachel Scott: And at that same time I was, things were kind of coming to head with the other guy and I and it, and then you and I were barely talking, as we said, you kind of knew that was going on too, that we were hanging out.
Jake Scott: Oh, I had no idea. Oh. '
Rachel Scott: cause I guess we weren't talking.
Jake Scott: I got blindsided by it. What I got back. Yeah. 'cause I was gone and for like two months I was kind of in and out like every other week or so. And then I got back and someone was like, oh yeah, they've kind of been dating. I was like, what? [00:44:00] What?
Rachel Scott: I mean, I don't think we labeled anything, but Yeah. But basically that all came to a head and I think I ended up realizing, no, I did end up realizing kind of overnight, this isn't it, like for the first time it hit me.
Yeah. Um, which shocked me because I had been so decided as I've said that it was it, and then it was overnight. Okay, this isn't it. And so that didn't change things with you and I, because I hadn't been. Lying the whole time. You separately from that other situation, you, I didn't have the bucket for you.
And it felt like, because you didn't fit into my, into my way, you were never gonna be it. So I was like, okay, that's kind of, that's, that's gone. And now I just was single. I was like, okay, I'm just gonna be single as I've, you know, supposed to have been this whole year. I'm just gonna be single fully. And wasn't thinking about you, wasn't like, [00:45:00] was just fully in the present.
And then, you know, a couple weeks, maybe a month after that because you had been out of, I remember you had been outta town, like I had not seen you for maybe three weeks.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: And then our friend Melissa was having a party. Melissa and Laura were having a party and. I had been there, you know, half the day and that night,
Jake Scott: half the day,
Rachel Scott: well, we were all hanging out all day and then that night, you know how girls do.
And then that night, like we'd gone to brunch and then gone back to their house and then it was like, oh, let's have people over tonight.
Jake Scott: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Rachel Scott: And then you walked in late 'cause I guess you landed that day or whatever. Classic. Classic. But I don't think, were you holding it? Do you remember this night?
Like, I do, like were you walking in to their house with expectation or? No,
Jake Scott: I remember walking in with super nerves because it was the first time I'd really seen you
Rachel Scott: since. Yeah.
Jake Scott: Because I had been traveling
Rachel Scott: since, I don't remember any, even conversa. We had our, the big hard conversation after Christmas [00:46:00] and obviously like early January.
Jake Scott: Mm-hmm.
Rachel Scott: And then this was probably, yeah,
Jake Scott: we
Rachel Scott: early
Jake Scott: March. Yeah. We didn't
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: Really to see each other other than like big social We weren't
Rachel Scott: talking. Yeah.
Jake Scott: Yeah. Because I, I genuinely like couldn't
Rachel Scott: do it. But the
flame
Rachel Scott: flame was still in you. I mean
Jake Scott: Oh. But the flame was burning,
Rachel Scott: so Yeah. So you walk in nervous.
Jake Scott: Yes. But. You almost immediately like gave me that little smile and I was like, oh,
Rachel Scott: shot he's back.
Jake Scott: A glimmer of hope shot. He's back. Maybe he's got it. But I was like, it's like you see a a, a baby deer and you're like, I don't want to scare this, this deer. So I'm gonna walk real slow. And I remember we talked a little at the party, but my big move, which was always my move, was I was waiting until you were gonna leave.
Rachel Scott: You were, yeah. Well in my, okay, so my experience at the party though was like, you walked in, I don't remember if it was right when I saw you or as we were talking that night, but it felt like someone had pulled a curtain back [00:47:00] and
Jake Scott: that night,
Rachel Scott: that was the night. I've,
Jake Scott: no, I know, but the, okay, lemme just tell.
Yes
Rachel Scott: Jake, I don't claim to be a healthy person. I
Jake Scott: know what happened. Lemme just tell, tell the, the viewer what this, this happened. So we're, we're at the party, we're chit-chatting, whatever. I pulled the move or I was like, oh, I'll wait. Oh, I'll walk you to your car. 'cause. You had to park down a hill from Melissa's house to get there, yada, yada.
And so I always, my move was to wait to
walk.
Rachel Scott: We often would talk by our cars after the, for hours. Yeah. After hanging out there for a long
Jake Scott: hours, you would either, we would either talk for five seconds because you were like, all right, bye. Or we would end up talking two hours until three in the morning.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. Oh, okay. Drama till like 10 at night.
Jake Scott: Okay. Um, look, let me live in my romantic memory.
Rachel Scott: Okay. Maybe midnight. All right.
Jake Scott: Maybe midnight. Let me have this. And then that night you were absolutely savage. You looked at me dead in the eye and you were like, I will never have feelings for anybody like I did for old guy.
Rachel Scott: Which is so wild. I said that because at that point I was like, not in it, [00:48:00]
Jake Scott: that you were just tor
Rachel Scott: you literally torturing me. Okay. So lemme just finish my, my where I was. So yes, it was that night. It felt like someone had pulled a curtain back and genuinely I wasn't faking it. This whole time I was like, whoa, where is this coming from?
All the. I wish I could like show the inside of my brain because it's so hard to put into words how it felt, because I did have feelings for you. It just wasn't feelings I was able to recognize and as I, you know, was sobering up so to, so to keep to our analogy, we were coming off
Jake Scott: the bender. I
Rachel Scott: was coming off the bender, not only just from my whole life and I also am like, God came in and rescued me because if I had chosen a husband based off of my old ways, I would be divorced thrice.
Like I would be a wreck. And so looking back I'm like, well yeah, of course your one husband you're gonna marry is going to break every other pattern that you've been in, of every relationship you've had that hasn't [00:49:00] worked. Again, none of this was conscious at the time, but I see you that night and it was just like a flood of, it wasn't the same type of romantic feelings as as the toxic ones, but it was just like.
You know, chemical, the way humans were created, when you were attracted to someone, you wanna be with someone. It was like a, enough of my old junk had been removed that I could actually have healthy, romantic feelings. And I genuinely was like, I do not know what to do with this right now. I haven't been, I think everyone thought I had tho those types of feelings for you and had been shoving them down.
But I hadn't, I had had a deep connection with you, a drawing to you. You were unlike anyone else. To me. But it hadn't, I hadn't labeled it as romance. And so whether I was like re recognizing my feelings for you as romantic feelings or whether just the romantic feelings were actually allowed to grow because every, the weeds were cleared out, whatever it was, it all happened at once that night and it threw me
Jake Scott: the irresistible gravitational
pull.
Rachel Scott: Okay. And it was
Jake Scott: the magnetism?
Rachel Scott: Yes. Honestly. And it was, it [00:50:00] was I think a scary and also really exciting but also really scary. 'cause it was so unexpected. It was so unexpected. Well, I was, I was literally like. Not even thinking about you in those months. You know? I was just like, I just, I think that last conversation had been so hard that it was like, no.
And so, yeah. So then my way of dealing with that on the walk to the car is to push you as far away as I can. Like I said, not the healthiest person at the time.
Jake Scott: Well, you deserve an Oscar for that performance. Because I was like, I went home crushed. I believed every word you said. You'll never have feelings for anyone like you did for old guy.
We are never gonna date, and I should just accept that. And I go home and I'm just like, all right. Well that's.
Rachel Scott: Wow,
Jake Scott: that's it.
Rachel Scott: Only you'd known
Jake Scott: dagger to the chest. I am done.
Rachel Scott: You had no, how
Jake Scott: you cooked Zero. I thought I believed you.
Rachel Scott: So how
Jake Scott: did that's done?
Rachel Scott: So, so the next morning,
Jake Scott: but the next morning I have classic am the driver and I'm picking up the girls [00:51:00] and we're all going to church.
And you were the last one on the caravan to We'd stop by your house. I mean, whatever.
You
Rachel Scott: probably skipped my house in order to make me last. Of
Jake Scott: course. Yeah.
Rachel Scott: So that you could have this moment.
Jake Scott: But I, my recollection you got in the passenger seat and it was as if for me. This like gust of rushing wind just came through the door when you opened the door.
'cause I could feel your energy towards me was completely different.
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: And I, I'm sitting there, I'm sitting there driving and I could feel the way you're like looking at me and talking to me. See, I
Rachel Scott: don't remember you driving. I thought we were in the back seat of someone's
Jake Scott: car. No, girl. I was always driving.
I was always
Rachel Scott: driving. I know you were always driving. Trust me. But I, okay anyway, it doesn't matter.
Jake Scott: But I could feel the, I could feel the shift. And in my head I'm kinda like,
Rachel Scott: what
Jake Scott: am I missing? Something? Like, we got in a fight last night
Rachel Scott: and I was like, what? See that part of the story you always bring up?
And I'm like, I don't even remember that
Jake Scott: I was Hello cutie. And I was like, from that moment forward though, [00:52:00] oh, it was no looking back.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. Because that was okay. I had the same experience where I saw you and I think I had had time to process my shock and whatever I was feeling about these new feelings.
And it was just like simple like, oh. I like him. I do. I cannot believe I like him, but I like him.
Jake Scott: It was like that scene from 500 days of summer where Joseph Gordon Levitt's, like running through the, the, the promenade. There's like a choir of people dancing with him, and he's just like, yes. That was you,
Rachel Scott: literally
Jake Scott: me that day.
I was like, this is,
Rachel Scott: I mean, and I even felt that. But I will say I still, yeah. I mean, I still, it was still complicated for me, but, but the rest was truly history because for the first time, you could feel, I think you must have felt that it was me and there were no halts barred. It was like, oh, this is, there's no like holding back on my part.
You just knew.
Jake Scott: Well,
Rachel Scott: well, no later. But my point is you could tell like, you knew enough that two weeks later you could ask me on a date. Oh,
Jake Scott: yeah.
Rachel Scott: Oh yeah. Yeah. I was, it was like, this is, this is happening. And so we did, we went on our first date.
Jake Scott: Yeah. I finally, finally [00:53:00] asked you out.
Rachel Scott: Yeah.
Jake Scott: Went on a date.
Rachel Scott: Because you knew it was like, clearly we like each other. Yeah. Like,
Jake Scott: clearly. Well, well, no. So what happened was I went to, I went to Nashville again, Uhhuh the next week. I was there for a week and we did the whole, I mean it was,
Rachel Scott: that's when we were like talking
Jake Scott: on the
Rachel Scott: phone until three in
Jake Scott: the morning. Yes.
Story four in the morning.
Rachel Scott: Just the classic, classic falling for each other moment, which we had never had any of that. I had always been,
Jake Scott: well, I'd always been trying to be respectful of like, you're
Rachel Scott: well that honey, I wouldn't
Jake Scott: have tied,
Rachel Scott: it was one foot in, one foot out for me,
Jake Scott: but for me on the other side of it, I was like, I don't want to be disrespectful of what you
Rachel Scott: told me.
Yeah. But no offense dog. You would've been turned down if you had asked me any other time.
Jake Scott: Mom, come on. Love it.
Rachel Scott: So finally, it's hot. My point is, you read the room. I read the room. You knew I wasn't in, you knew. It's like this isn't gonna happen right now.
Jake Scott: And my best attempt to read the room today.
Rachel Scott: You read it, you knew it wouldn't happen and then you read the room again and you were correct that Oh this, the door has opened.
Something has changed drastically. Yeah. So, so yeah, we go on our first date and it really was the re [00:54:00] truly the rest is history. Yeah. I remember sitting across from me, and this is probably gonna sound crazy after this whole story. But it, this is why I think we both subscribe to when, you know, you know, because it, I just was like, oh, this is what it's supposed to feel like.
This is my husband
Jake Scott: Jones on third the day.
Rachel Scott: Oh, I eat that. Right,
Jake Scott: right now. But I, I couldn't subscribe to that more because
Rachel Scott: we just knew,
Jake Scott: well, it's, people ask me all the time, how do you know when, you know? Mm-hmm. Like, what's the thing? It, for me, I, the way I knew I knew was that I never had to think about it twice.
Yeah. It was a no question, mark, let's do this forever. I feel like I've known you my whole life. I don't have to, there's, there are no mental hurdles I have to jump over to be like, well, you know, there's this thing, there's thing, she's pretty good in this way. But for me it was just like,
Rachel Scott: yeah,
Jake Scott: absolutely.
Rachel Scott: Well, and if question anything, there were so many reasons for you to be like, is she stable? Is she,
Jake Scott: I was just along for the ride, babe. Like, to be honest, I was like, I guess
Rachel Scott: this is
Jake Scott: what love
Rachel Scott: feels like. Yeah. But like, I think, I think it would [00:55:00] be like, there was this, there was this string between us. No matter what.
Invisible string, no matter what piled on top of it, there's no denying that there's a string there. And that string was this connection of, of like True. It was wild. Yeah. True love. And it, it for, I mean, I think you had a different, your experience of that was like, no matter what I threw at you, you knew that was there.
And for me, I mean, this is a huge part of, I feel like my story and what I feel like is so important to share is that just because my bubble popped and I fell in love with you, maybe I should say let myself fall in love with you. I don't know. My brain chemistry changed. I um, I still had all of my crap to work through.
Like I still had
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: So many.
Jake Scott: And we had to work through it together.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. And I had so many nodded ties in my mind, and this would've happened whoever I ended up marrying. It's like a lot of, I think it's amazing to work through as much as you can prior to getting married, but marriage also brings stuff out that when you're in the safety of a marriage to deal with it, it's such a [00:56:00] beautiful place because you have this partner.
That's where true vulnerability comes in. It's like, wow, he sees all of me and is helping me with my stuff. And that's, that's unlike any other relationship. So yeah, I, I still had in those weeks, 'cause we obviously started dating and, and you know, I, but I was confused still, like when he, Jake is, so you are just the cheese master because he had the classic,
Jake Scott: pardon me?
What,
Rachel Scott: like a month later, like an official, will you be my girlfriend?
Jake Scott: Okay.
Rachel Scott: And I said,
Jake Scott: sorry, I'm a romantic
Rachel Scott: he is. And I said, yes. But then I freaked out and I was like, no, no, no, no, no, I can't be your girlfriend.
Jake Scott: She did in, in the, in the moment, within about 10 minutes you said? Yeah. And then you're like, wait, wait, no.
I don't think so. I I, you
Rachel Scott: just, I was
Jake Scott: scared
Rachel Scott: and I
Jake Scott: was just like,
Rachel Scott: well, probably. So death for the fifth time, I mean, part of what we've had to work through is him feeling like, I think you always knew I was here to stay, but like I just,
Jake Scott: oh no, I did not. No, you gotta be on the receiving end of this. So I'm just like, what happening?
Rachel Scott: But then [00:57:00] like that later, that day, I called him, I was like, oh, I'm, I actually do wanna be your girlfriend? And he was like, no, no. But then you asked, you've officially asked me again three days later. So, but that, yeah,
Jake Scott: but I had to make you sweat a little bit.
Rachel Scott: I wasn't for
Jake Scott: gonna be a fricking
Rachel Scott: thank you.
That's why I said yesterday, marriage
Jake Scott: baby back. That, that,
Rachel Scott: I mean, even our engagement was like that. I was like, don't do it when we go on this family trip to Paris. Okay, wait man. But that's what all Yes.
Jake Scott: Even six months after we were married, you looked at me and you're like, are you sure? But
Rachel Scott: I that
Jake Scott: are
Rachel Scott: we okay?
That's the whole point I'm trying to drive home here is I knew you were it for me. I knew it and my heart, I knew it in the deepest way. Like, I knew God was saying it. I felt it. I felt that that's what I wanted. And thank God I got outta my own way because the rest of me had catching up to do like I was still had so much toxicity in my brain and the, and things to heal from patterns that doesn't just go away overnight, especially just because you fall in love with the human.
Like God is the only one who who can heal those things. And I did a [00:58:00] lot of therapy too, but, but it took me just time to get to a place where it was like, wow, I really had this huge load. I was carrying around with me of lies about what love should be and despite every odd against me, I ended up with the right person because I mean truly that it's a miracle.
And so, so it, you had, you know, you bore the brunt of that in our early dating days, in our engagement and in our early marriage where I was still. My brain was just still circling Old beliefs. Yeah.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: And we're long past that now. But it, you know, it's, it's a part of my story. And because of that, a part of your story.
Yeah. And you were, the thing with Jake is you were always, you had a steadiness to you. I'm not saying it didn't injure you and that I haven't had to repair with you, but there was a steadiness inside you where I knew you could handle what was erupting from me. [00:59:00]
Jake Scott: Thank you.
Rachel Scott: I mean, don't you agree You can pat your back here.
Well, saying it didn't hurt.
Jake Scott: Yeah. I think, yes. I think on some levels, yes. I think if I had the tools at the time, to be honest.
Rachel Scott: Mm-hmm.
Jake Scott: Because I obviously brought my own crap into the relationship that, that we had to deal with it. But, you know, at the time, I don't think I had. I don't think I had the tools, like I said, to, to really say what I was feeling,
Rachel Scott: but that would've saved us.
I mean, but that's like saying you were also just as broken. Yeah. Your brokenness was a lot prettier looking. Mine was really on the surface. Yours was probably, yeah. I was
Jake Scott: just a lot darker. Well,
Rachel Scott: well, 'cause I was, the way I was raised was you say how you feel and so if I had a thought, now that has to grow as well.
But for you, you just pushed down and so Yes. Obviously things could have been a lot more pain-free had we both met and been perfect humans. Yeah. But [01:00:00] that's just really not life.
Jake Scott: But I think to, to a level of what you're saying, I had the, I had the wherewithal in the moment to, to see this is a storm that will pass.
Mm-hmm. She is. She is very, whatever the word is, flooded. She's very caught up in this.
Rachel Scott: What did you think at the time?
Jake Scott: Whirlwind. And
Rachel Scott: you just could see it was a whirlwind.
Jake Scott: I think the same thing that was carrying us through like the very beginning, like the infancy stages. Like when we got into the, the thick of marriage in the first couple years, I think I could still see like the bedrock of our connection is going to carry us through this because our
Rachel Scott: string,
Jake Scott: I know mm-hmm.
Is, is the thing. And, and I, I think the beautiful part of our relationship that we can always fall back on and it is kind of the, the restrictions of not being able to immediately date is we started our relationship already being such good friends. Yeah. Like we were best friends.
Rachel Scott: Yep.
Jake Scott: And I think [01:01:00] if I can look at our relationship now, you know, almost 12 years into it.
Probably the, the greatest gift that we have is that we are best friends. Yeah. To this day. And I don't, I, you know, a lot of people don't have that luxury and I'm so grateful that we have it because even at the worst day, even at the times when you're, you're having, you know, you're in the thick of your stuff and I'm in the thick of my stuff and, and we could have a, a terrible day, terrible fight, whatever it is, we still just love being together.
Rachel Scott: Yeah, we do. It's like the worst. 'cause if you're in a big fight, I'm like, well, but dang it, I just really wanted to do our date, our dinner tonight. Just
Jake Scott: go to dinner and watch
Rachel Scott: a movie. Yeah. Can we just, but I'm still really mad at you, but you're the only one I wanna hang out with right now.
Jake Scott: It's, uh, but it's beautiful.
And I think that at the time,
Rachel Scott: that was what carried you through.
Jake Scott: That carried me through it. Of just, of just saying like, this is, I don't even have the, the words to process what I'm feeling right now because I am, I feel like I'm on this like, rollercoaster of like, I, [01:02:00] I think she loves me also. Am I like.
So the lamest guy on the planet because she's Oh, funny. But like, you know, I think for me it was just working through learning how to hold space for you to, to process it. Yeah. And then also the courage to be honest about like, Hey, you know, this really hurts,
Rachel Scott: but you didn't really do that at the time. And I know how, I also think your version of holding space may have been more like freezing, but however,
Jake Scott: freezing and also kind of Codependence.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. Codependency. But there was still the truest part of you there. So you had your unhealth and then this true part.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: That was truly able to be steady for me Yeah. When I needed it, which is a huge part of marriage, being steady for each other. Mm-hmm. And then, like I said, as God, who is the only one who can heal these things, hundred percent has healed your stuff and my stuff.
It's just crazy to look back and be like, man, I'm so glad we had that connection. And also just that. [01:03:00] Maybe it was just the connection is, and, and I think we both knew God was saying like, yes, this is your person.
Jake Scott: Mm.
Rachel Scott: Um, because looking back, we were both at such a, I mean, our just immature, broken, you know, and I think some people truly are.
I, I I do think way more whole and healthy at 20 than we were,
Jake Scott: oh, I was a
Rachel Scott: hot mess. But I also would not wanna go through any of it without you.
Jake Scott: Wow.
Rachel Scott: You know, like, I think to each their own, some people would rather meet their person and be more ready, but like us, it, it just adds to our story and to our
Jake Scott: mm-hmm.
Rachel Scott: Connection even more just this history that we have. I mean, I, I, it shocks me sometimes because I think the biggest thing that I have said to people, one of my best friends is so similar to me, and she had this same whirlwind when she met her husband. And I remember saying to her like, I think. The way that my brain worked and the way [01:04:00] that all of my other relationships were was like, you know, a match that I lit and then it went out like that.
It's really a spark in the beginning and then it's gone. Whereas real love and what marriage should be is a bonfire that it takes time to nurture, but then it's this huge flame that can be with you all night. And that's what we are like I own, I 1000% love you a thousand times more right now than I have.
And I pray that in 10 more years I can say the same thing. Um, which is so be, it's so exciting and beautiful and I believe anyone, that's what marriage is supposed to be for everyone.
Jake Scott: Yeah.
Rachel Scott: Um, yeah,
Jake Scott: I agree.
Rachel Scott: Here's our craziest little story.
Jake Scott: We love a good fire analogy, man. I could go on for hours right now, but I know we gotta stop.
I love you.
Rachel Scott: Aw, love you too.
Jake Scott: And yeah, there's our, that's our story. Mm-hmm. That's kind of how we got started. And
I
Rachel Scott: mean, a really real, I hadn't thought about this, but very apropos for how psycho we are.
Jake Scott: A lot of drug references,
Rachel Scott: a lot of [01:05:00] drug references, addiction
Jake Scott: talk,
Rachel Scott: a lot of just looking back at the drama, which everyone has when they're young.
Jake Scott: Well, it's also like, I think the beginning of our relationship leads. So, like you're saying, it is so, such a, uh, a foreshadowing for where we are now. It's just. Everything we do is so intense.
Rachel Scott: Mm-hmm.
Jake Scott: Like, like 10 outta 10 intense.
Rachel Scott: Oh. Like, it could have been chill. And we're like, no, no, no, no.
Jake Scott: We are
Rachel Scott: writing God.
Cue the rain, baby. We're
Jake Scott: writing young adult novels about this. It's
Rachel Scott: gonna be great. You, we do it in different ways too. Actually. We're kinda opposite and it, so we make just a full picture of psychosis. But yeah. Thank God we still, we are meant to be times through and through. We are, despite having been to hell and back Yeah.
In a hundred ways.
Jake Scott: Yeah. We lived a lot of life together. Yeah. And we are very admittedly, uh, learning it now. We're in the mm-hmm. We're, you know, that's the thing with this podcast, we are not, there's no expertise coming from this. There's no intention for that. This is purely just [01:06:00] us wanting to share stories, share the things that we're passionate about.
And if there's anything that we can say like, Hey, learn from the mistakes we've made.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. Learn.
Jake Scott: Maybe that can help.
Rachel Scott: I think passion can lead to amazing things in, if it's unchecked to terrible things and we have, we, it's
Jake Scott: always fun. I will say that even in the chaos, you look back and like, wow, that was intense.
But
Rachel Scott: that's
Jake Scott: kind of fun.
Rachel Scott: Alright. It's part of the problem right here. It's, we unpack that in a later time, but yeah, I agree. We're not, it's just about how passion, how passion can form your life and how to hopefully, as we are fully, particularly in this time in our life, learning to do it in a really healthy way.
Mm-hmm. For, for the first time, a thousand percent.
Jake Scott: Oh, for sure.
Rachel Scott: Yeah. For sure. Welcome to Biggest fan.
Jake Scott: Biggest Fan. See y'all, we love you.
