Problem Corner

On this lively Friday edition of Problem Corner, hosts Justin Miller and Nana Brooks took nonstop calls from across Juneau. From a free dining table to a rare Flying V guitar, listeners offered up items, voiced Capital Transit concerns, and shared thoughts on local taxi service delays. One caller’s Nighthawk drone sold instantly, proving the show still gets results. The hosts also reminded listeners about Saturday’s budget meeting and Capitol rally, closing the week with plenty of community updates and some classic Southeast Alaska spring humor.

What is Problem Corner?

Speaker 3:

Speaker 9:

Speaker 2:

Oh, nice.

Speaker 9:

That's that's the guy who who started Dean guitars.

Speaker 3:

Speaker 9:

A lot of guitar players will recognize that. But it's it's a good guitar. It's it's made in Korea. It's got a rosewood fretboard, and the the pickups are really good. They were designed by Dean B.

Speaker 9:

Zelensky himself.

Speaker 3:

What kind of vintage of a guitar is that?

Speaker 9:

It's it's a flying b, a blue. So it it comes with a case. And when when I when I bought the entire package, it was it was 900. But I'm I'm I'm willing to sell it for 700, and it's in excellent condition.

Speaker 3:

Speaker 3:

Speaker 2:

I feel like if you're a guitar player, you have you have to at least own one flying V in your lifetime. Like, that's that's just a given. It comes with a case, and you could reach him at 907508196.

Speaker 2:

And we got some more calls. Hi. Welcome to Problem Acorn. You're live and on the air.

Speaker 8:

Yeah. I'm still trying to get rid of that 02/2003 Ford '1 '50 '4 by four. I was on before and

Speaker 3:

Speaker 8:

Well, it's all rusted out.

Speaker 3:

Speaker 8:

Speaker 3:

What part of town is is it at?

Speaker 8:

Speaker 3:

Alright. For any of those looking to get a parts truck, just know you might have to get it towed out of Lemon Creek. Right?

Speaker 4:

Speaker 9:

Speaker 2:

And we do have another call. Let's get them on the show. Hi. Welcome to Provinc Corner. You're live and on

Speaker 6:

the air. Hello?

Speaker 4:

Hello. Hello. I'm sorry. Let me turn my radio off. Anyway, I have a pet peeve, and it's dealing with Capital Transit.

Speaker 4:

Mhmm. I use the Capital Transit bus every day. And what bothers me about the the Capital Transit is everybody crowds in front of the bus and everybody crowds in the mid the side of the bus near the entrances and the exits. Now I remember when they used to have a rule that if the seats are empty, sit down. And if you have a backpack, put it on your lap or underneath your chair because people need to sit down.

Speaker 4:

I wish Capital Transit would reinitiate that rule where everybody would be sitting down. So it's a public transportation bus, meaning everybody gets to use it. And I hate that people put their damn backpacks on the seats when people need to sit down. And I really super hate when people crowd the front of the bus and the exit side near the middle of of the bus to get off. Someone should talk to Capital Transit about reinstating that rule that everybody should be able to sit down if there are seats available and to keep their backpack either on their lap or underneath where they're sitting because it really bothers me because that bus gets really crowded sometimes.

Speaker 4:

And there are open spaces that people don't sit down in. That's really stupid. I wish they would initiate that. Everybody needs to be sitting down, and if they have, like, a backpack or something because they don't need to care where you're sitting. It just really bothers me that the the bus is always that disruptive.

Speaker 3:

Well, and it it it sounds like on an on another note too, you know, people just need to treat everyone the way they wanna be treated and have, you know, some more common courtesy. Know, there's always a lot of people, especially with, like, kids, you know, elderly people that use the bus. So making sure a seat's available for those who need it is you know, it's it's a very small thing you can do that's nice.

Speaker 4:

And people need to people need to not be so, excuse me, scared or whatever and sit down because, you know, there are seats available, but do people sit down? No. It's stupid.

Speaker 2:

I think there's a lot of social anxiety with that as far as people not wanting to just sit next to a stranger or someone that they don't know on a bus.

Speaker 3:

That is something that we see a lot more of these days.

Speaker 2:

But, yeah, people need to be considerate. And, honestly, yeah, even if you're traveling alone on the bus, make your seat available. Scooch over to the window so that seat's available. You don't have to talk to that person next to you. You just gotta everyone's trying to ride the bus at the same time.

Speaker 2:

So I'm

Speaker 3:

sure You're only ever five or ten minutes away. Right. Right.

Speaker 4:

But but as a general rule, if there are seats available, sit down and quit crowding the front of the bus and the side entrance of the bus because people need to get in and out. And I'm a senior citizen, and sometimes I have to use my wheelchair because I have really bad arthritis and stuff. So it's hard for me to get out of the front of the bus. We are considering quit blocking the front of the bus, especially for us senior citizen disabled people.

Speaker 3:

Absolutely.

Speaker 2:

I'm sure you're not the only one that shares that feeling towards the buses and the crowdiness. So I'm sure anyone else who is listening today and you've experienced in that, then definitely let's all kind of reach out to Capital Transit. If someone's working for Capital Transit listening right now, hopefully we could try to spread the word and other community members could kind of help facilitate that on buses as well.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. See if, you know, people can come up with a clever idea because it can always impose a rule. But, you know, while the bus driver's focusing on, you know, being safe on the road and getting people where they need to go, it's hard to enforce rules at the same time.

Speaker 4:

Right. But I remember they used to have that rule. If if there are seats available, people should be sitting down. They shouldn't they should never ever ever crowd the front of the bus.

Speaker 2:

No. Right. Well, let's And my

Speaker 4:

my second pet peeve is we need better cab companies. It doesn't take more than fifteen minutes to get anywhere in Juneau. And I can't believe that all the cab companies don't have reliable drivers because there are times when I have to like, I call all the cab companies and and and and it's not touristy. Know, you either. I can't believe some of the cab companies take up to an hour to get a ride.

Speaker 4:

They need to better drive and be be on time because, Jesus, why did they even get a raise?

Speaker 3:

Right. I've I've and, you know, with the, companies like, Uber and Lyft, you know, you got a lot more private drivers that might be able to offer more timely stuff, but I think I've even seen a new taxi company pop up within the last couple years. So it seems like it's a competitive space, and other people might be feeling that same sense, and that's why they're trying to compete in it.

Speaker 4:

Well, all I don't care what cab company it is. In Juneau, it shouldn't take

Speaker 2:

The drivers are

Speaker 4:

being like second pet peeve because like I said, there I mean, every cab company I've used in Juneau, and it's not even tourist season, takes at least an hour to get to my destination. And I only stay in flights or so.

Speaker 2:

Have you I

Speaker 4:

don't understand what the big deal is.

Speaker 3:

Have you ever tried an Uber or Lyft service?

Speaker 4:

No. I don't even have their number. But oh, and the last thing I would really appreciate is, like, maybe about five minutes before, you guys could send out the the e email address so we can just send it to your email so you could read it.

Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 4:

Read it more often, I'd appreciate it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. At the moment, we don't have a stand alone problem corner email. It just kinda gets the with the website, it just gets sent to me and the owner, Cliff Dumas, and all that. So, yeah, that's I will get with Cliff and maybe we could figure it because, yeah, we got other hosts on Problem Corner. I'm not gonna be here for every single show, so it'd be nice for those that can't access my email to still be able to get that.

Speaker 2:

So I I appreciate that that idea. So let me get with our team and maybe make a stand alone problem corner email that we could just throw out to the community rather than directing it to the website every time.

Speaker 4:

That would be so awesome.

Speaker 2:

I'm writing the note for it right now so I remember.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Let your boss know. Actually, let everybody know because it's kinda because sometimes, like, everybody most of the same people call and it's I mean, I know it's

Speaker 3:

No. We whatever. We try and talk about the emails, you know, before the show and during the breaks if anyone of them come in. But, yeah, having, you know, having the access live could definitely be a benefit to everyone else too.

Speaker 4:

Oh, and I have a a and my last thing is I have a crapload of totes. I don't remember what size they are, but every I'm gonna leave them outside Saturday morning, and you you people are more than welcome to come and get them. They're gonna be free. Alright.

Speaker 3:

Whereabouts will those be?

Speaker 4:

Switzer, lot fifty.

Speaker 2:

Switzer number fifty. Alrighty.

Speaker 9:

Well, I

Speaker 4:

appreciate you. Really appreciate your show. You guys have an awesome show.

Speaker 2:

Thank you.

Speaker 3:

No. We appreciate the call, and you have a wonderful weekend.

Speaker 4:

You too. Bye bye.

Speaker 2:

Alright. Bye bye. Almost sounds like with capital what he was describing with capital transit almost reminded me of getting off an airplane when you lane. Absolutely. Absolutely.

Speaker 2:

Everyone just stands up, and there's like, we gotta get off the plane. We gotta rush off the Everyone's

Speaker 1:

in a rush to

Speaker 3:

move at the same pace to go to the same place.

Speaker 1:

You're listening to problem corner on KINY, bringing neighbors together for generations. From the days of Dennis Egan to today, we're proud to continue the tradition of lively debates, community insights, and local connections here on KINY.

Speaker 2:

And welcome back to Provin Corner here on KINY on this Friday. I'm Jess Miller and joined by Nana Brooks here in the studio.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, wrapping up the week the right way.

Speaker 2:

And it's been quite the call in show today. I like it. So like, as you're saying during the break, it's spring cleaning time. It's time to get rid of some stuff in our homes and garage sales around the corner.

Speaker 3:

Absolutely.

Speaker 2:

So I do see we have a call, but I just wanna run through our call in list real quick and I'll get you on the show. So we do have a dining room table for or not for sale, it's first come, first served, six chairs and has two lease. So this is pickup only over at 8184 Thunder Street. So if you wanna swing by there, see if it's still available, you could do totally do so. And then we have a glass computer desk for $250, and then they have two shelves, wooden file cabinet, $75 for that.

Speaker 2:

So if you're interested in the desk or the file cabinet, you could reach them at 90795783. And that gentleman with that DVZ Flying V guitar, He's asking $700 for that. It's 10 years old. You can reach him at 907508196. And then we had that Ford f one fifty.

Speaker 2:

It's a little rusted, but still mechanically sound. You can reach him at 907503354. And let's switch to the calls. Let's get people

Speaker 3:

to keep it going.

Speaker 2:

Hi. Welcome to Problem Acornia. You're live and on the air.

Speaker 5:

Yes. Thanks for taking my call. I would like to hope and pray that they used to have, the number six bus would go to the airport, and then I'm hoping that that bus could go to Goebel because there's no way you can get there if you don't have a car.

Speaker 3:

Right. So that's still an issue that people are facing.

Speaker 5:

Yes. It you know, people are saying, well, all you have to do is go down to the church there and then cross there. Well, I told the young man, I don't wanna be roadkilled. No.

Speaker 3:

No. I've I've seen people doing some very unsafe passes across the highway there. And the unfortunate thing is is that it's already the one of the most dangerous stretches of highway in our community, and now having people randomly run across is, it's putting a lot of people on edge for sure. And my my hope would be is that with all the new electric bus infrastructure, is that they'll see, you know, a good enough savings to extend or add more routes to be able to accommodate those kinds of things. And, hopefully, they, do that sooner than later so someone doesn't get hurt.

Speaker 5:

Hurt. They get killed and I'm vintage and there's no way I can outrun a car.

Speaker 3:

I like how you phrase that. You're vintage.

Speaker 5:

That's. Yes. I'm very vintage. So, I want to stay above ground. Thank you so much for taking my call.

Speaker 2:

No problem. We want to figure out that solution to that. Yeah, we're going we're getting into the summer season now. There's going to be a lot more traffic on Eagan with buses and And

Speaker 3:

there was I was actually talking with community member who had wanted me to mention, it's just like a lot of people walking on the side of the highway at night, not using the sidewalks, not having the reflective gear. It's a big issue, and there's more and more people out in the nighttime with the of the dark clothing and not having reflectors on. And just the other day when I was passing by Fred Myers, there was someone with a shopping cart overflowing was going across the And I was like, that is very dangerous.

Speaker 2:

It is dangerous. I think Tuesday I was driving home from work, some dude just was on a bike and just went full send into the median just like a holy cow. It's like and there was cars, like, he was pushing it a little bit on that bike, trying to cross Eagan right there. So, please do not cross. Don't even try to tempt it.

Speaker 3:

Be safe out there, people.

Speaker 2:

And we do have a couple more calls. Yeah. Hi. Welcome to Problem Corner. You're live and on the air.

Speaker 10:

Thank you very much for taking my call. I have a medical bed. It's by Serta for sale. One five hundred for it. It's like new.

Speaker 3:

Alrighty. They have all the automatic adjustments and everything on it?

Speaker 10:

Yes. You know, raise your feet, raise your head.

Speaker 8:

Cool. Yeah. It's I

Speaker 4:

think we

Speaker 10:

815-1500. We're moving. So gotta go.

Speaker 2:

Alrighty. Are you willing to deliver or is it pickup only?

Speaker 10:

We'll debate that.

Speaker 9:

Okay. Negotiate a bit. I

Speaker 10:

also have a 16 foot Lund with trailer. All the paperwork is in order. The boat is registered till '27. License plate on the trailer is 26 and have the title. Everything's good and clean on it.

Speaker 10:

It does not leak. It also comes with two Scottie downriggers.

Speaker 3:

Nice.

Speaker 10:

Garmin GPS plotter, a boat cover, anchor chain, flare kit, and just about everything you need except for your own personal PFD,

Speaker 9:

personal flotation device. Mhmm.

Speaker 2:

And that's and that's a 16 foot line that you don't have an outboard for. Right?

Speaker 6:

Correct. Alright.

Speaker 3:

Well, you know, I have been seeing a lot of people, selling some pretty reasonable price smaller outboards and even some project ones on the side of the street in some residential neighborhoods. So this is the time to be getting getting a project like that and get a good deal on a motor because they're starting to pop up.

Speaker 10:

Yeah. I horse two stroke on it, and I'm a big guy, like, three hundred pounds. It would get on step with that.

Speaker 3:

Wow.

Speaker 9:

But then

Speaker 10:

I put a 25 horse on it and got me and two other big guys on stuff.

Speaker 3:

Nice.

Speaker 10:

So if you're a loner and you're not a big guy, the 15 works, but the 20 to 25 is plenty, and I've even seen them with 50 horse. That's too fast for me, but

Speaker 2:

yeah. I'm sure someone will slap something big on that even if they don't.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Go hot dogging around the land.

Speaker 10:

Put a little jet on it

Speaker 9:

and start jumping to your dam.

Speaker 2:

There you go. What's a good number for you, mister?

Speaker 10:

Not have that done to it. It is a very, very clean haul. No leaks. People are surprised because it's a 1985.

Speaker 2:

Oh, wow.

Speaker 3:

I know people rocking

Speaker 10:

the older ones. No leaks.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. I

Speaker 10:

don't think it's been it hasn't been, what I like to call, huna ized. In other words, used a lot.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 10:

So then give me a call. I'm asking 4,500 for it. It's gotta sell this weekend or I'm gonna bring it down south with me because I'm moving.

Speaker 2:

Alright.

Speaker 10:

So this one last chance? 2096270.

Speaker 2:

6 2 7 0.

Speaker 3:

Are are you firm on that price or open to some offers now that it's getting to be crunch time?

Speaker 10:

Hey. Show me show me the money.

Speaker 3:

There you go. Well,

Speaker 2:

let's see if we can get that bed and that Lund off your hands.

Speaker 10:

Alright. Thank you very much, and have a great day.

Speaker 3:

You as well. Yeah. Have a great weekend.

Speaker 8:

Alright. Bye.

Speaker 2:

Bye bye. Now let's get that 16 foot loan off this gentleman's hands. He's been

Speaker 3:

Well, it sounds like it has absolutely everything you need there for

Speaker 2:

a for

Speaker 3:

a sweet setup.

Speaker 4:

All you

Speaker 2:

need is a motor.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. And like those like I said, they're gonna be a lot more motors are gonna be popping up left and right here as

Speaker 2:

the season gets heavier. So Surta medical bed for $500 and then that 16 foot loan with the trailer and all the fixings pretty much downriggers and depth finders, covers. Cover. So if you're interested in either that medical bed or the Lund, you can reach them at (907) 209-6270. And we do have some more calls.

Speaker 2:

Let's get them on. Hi. Welcome to Problem Corner live on On The Air.

Speaker 18:

Well, good morning. It's it's great to have Problem Corner back. I I enjoy it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Good morning to you too.

Speaker 18:

But I tell you what, for my money, I'd rather listen to KJ and O because I can get all day talk shows, and there's a lot of worldwide information. And AM AM has been off the air again here now for better than a week. When is that gonna come back?

Speaker 2:

I've been working with our engineer on that on some fixes and making sure we could get it back up. We do need to make some adjustments to our transmitter up on the ridge, but we are looking to do that sometime this month, hopefully, at the earliest.

Speaker 4:

Sometime in the next month.

Speaker 2:

In in this month, hopefully. Well,

Speaker 6:

yeah. But it's, what, the fourth

Speaker 18:

or the April 5, so it could be three weeks before we're back up and running. Right?

Speaker 2:

Right. Yeah. It's been I I'm frustrated about KJ and O, and we are working on that as best we can at the moment. But, yeah, just we can't push our FM signal too hard for us, then it's gets bleed from other frequencies. So that's kinda why it might be kinda iffy in certain zones in Juneau.

Speaker 2:

But, yeah, that's

Speaker 18:

Yeah. I I was picking up stuff, I think, from the tower at the airport on FM.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So At

Speaker 18:

one point. So, anyway, just just you know, problem corner is a great program, but I get a I get a whole lot more enjoyment all day through KJ and O listening to the talk radio with the guys there.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah. I know a lot of folks here in Juneau in the community enjoy KJ and O. We wanna get that program out to you guys to the best quality as we can and sorry for the all the mishaps that we've been dealing with, but we are working on that and hopefully, we will make a big announcement when we are fully up and running with a strong signal and AM and FM are clear as gold.

Speaker 18:

Awesome. I'll I'll stand by and keep my fingers crossed.

Speaker 2:

Alright. We'll keep you guys updated as best we can on the status of KJ and O when we got more updates on that.

Speaker 18:

Great. Okay. Well, carry on. Have a great day.

Speaker 2:

You as well. Thanks for calling in.

Speaker 3:

Have a great weekend.

Speaker 8:

Yep. You too. Bye bye.

Speaker 2:

And we got another call. Hi. Welcome to Provincoin. You're live and on the air.

Speaker 4:

Yes. I just wanted to remind people about the about the anybody who's concerned about Elon Musk and also them closing a lot of field offices at Social Security. So anybody who's on disability, also closing a lot I think there's like 7,000 telephone lines that were cut, but They announced that about ten days ago, so they probably cut a lot more telephone lines in the process since then. And also, on Tuesday, March 14, there was an executive directive to cut into tribal sovereignty. There's a a protest about all that and more the capital steps tomorrow at noon.

Speaker 4:

And I heard that Ricardo Laurel is going to be a guest speaker, and I'm hoping that tribal president Richard Peterson will also be there. I don't know about Richard Peterson, if he's gonna show up. We'll

Speaker 2:

We do have the poster right in front of us

Speaker 8:

here too.

Speaker 4:

All my I Yeah. I hope he's there.

Speaker 3:

The poster is for reclaim our Democracy, a rally at the Capitol on Saturday, April 5 at noon.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Tomorrow. Perfect.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'm sure we'll get a good turnout for that rally tomorrow. That's for sure.

Speaker 4:

Thank you.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. Thanks for calling in.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. You have a wonderful weekend. Yeah. So that rally is happening at noon organized by the Resisters. And something else to also keep in mind about tomorrow is that assembly meetings are starting to get back in swing, and tomorrow at 08:30, there's a special assembly they're introducing the new budget, and there's a lot to digest in that as well.

Speaker 3:

So maybe go swing by assembly chambers at 08:30, and once you get out there, you can go join the rally if you so choose to do.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, there's so many things coming up in the community that are open to the public to voice their voices and kind of just make us Yeah, get

Speaker 3:

involved, get educated. That's where it all starts.

Speaker 2:

Yep, so show up, make your voice heard. That's all we need to do is just show up and make your voice heard.

Speaker 3:

Be the change you want to see in the world.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, know, that should be our Friday, the change that you want to see in the world. Maybe that's how we end Friday Prompts.

Speaker 3:

I think that'd be a great way to

Speaker 2:

end it. And we do have a couple more calls. We have about ten more minutes left at problem corner. Hi. Welcome to the show.

Speaker 2:

You're live on Problem Corner. Oh.

Speaker 3:

Oh, no. Alright.

Speaker 2:

Next call. Hi. You're live on Prom Corner.

Speaker 4:

Yes. What's going on? Is Mel. I Hey, Mel. Call every now and then.

Speaker 3:

How's it going?

Speaker 4:

It's it's going I wanted to talk about the these scam calls because I I have a phone that's AT and T, and one feature it has is on a little screen of my foot phone is it says spam risk. And all I have to do is open it up and shut it, and I cut that line. So I got a I got a on the just a while ago, a call. I waited a while. It came on and a female voice said about your your pharmacy, and I'm I think it's a phishing type scam.

Speaker 2:

Mhmm. Mhmm.

Speaker 4:

So I I listened to her and she told me what numbers to press. So I cut that line and I called search. I got a gentleman on the line and he I said, it's a Texas number. And he said, we we don't have anything to do with Texas. So I chalked it up as another scam.

Speaker 4:

Mhmm. I'm 84. I'm putting this information out because it's vital that no matter who you are, be very careful because you can get cleaned out. I was surprised about the pharmacy thing because I I think they just took numbers at random and

Speaker 2:

That's usually how I

Speaker 4:

do it. Concerned. I I know better at 84. So this is all I have today. You you have a busy problem corner today.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 4:

I'm glad I got on.

Speaker 3:

Well, thank you for mentioning that too because it is, like, it's a real serious issue. And as a business owner, I probably get six of them a day. And it's all like, Oh, about your pre approval, or this and that. But some of them can be extremely convincing and not everyone has the experience or wherewithal to identify when that's happening. So if I'll resonate kind of what you're saying in a different way.

Speaker 3:

It's like if some sort of service that you're used to working with contacts you from a strange number or an individual that you're not familiar with working, I would almost recommend always hanging up and calling the institution yourself and explain the situation, and they'll let you know whether or not that that was done by them or whether it's a scam. I even at the bank even at the bank, like, every other day, I see someone talking to them like, hey. I got this text or this number. And almost always, the bank is like, nope. That was not us.

Speaker 4:

Yes. And and I ended it with this. I did that too, and I went to my bank. I asked them, and it it was a scam. It starts off as about your account with us.

Speaker 4:

It's a phishing thing. And if if you're getting way up there in age and that just keep your mind working and it's better to to cut the line so that you don't get scammed and get yourself in deep financial trouble. That's all I got today. You. Guys, thanks a lot.

Speaker 3:

No. Thank you. Yeah. Have a great weekend. No.

Speaker 3:

That's a I get it a lot. When someone calls like, Hey, I'm from the company, it's like, What company? The company. It's like, What is the name of who you work for?

Speaker 2:

I know. I got a couple of spam calls just this week. Like, I got one yesterday from San Jose, California. And then earlier on Wednesday, I got another one just says spam risk. It didn't give me

Speaker 3:

location. But that can also It's also kind of weird because on the very rare chance it sometimes is a legit person. So I got a spam risk number one one one one one one one I was like, definite scam, but I'll answer it anyways just to see how entertaining it'll be. It was actually someone calling from a satellite phone in Gustavus wanting something repaired. So I was just like, oh, this wasn't a spam.

Speaker 2:

I always go by the rule of thumb, if it's important, they'll leave a message. And that's how you can kind of tell if it's legit or not. If they don't leave a message, don't call them back. If they don't know the number and they didn't leave a message, just leave it be.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Must have not been that important.

Speaker 2:

And we do have one more call. This will be our last call of the program just so we have time to recycle what call ins we had today. Hi. Welcome to Problem Corner live and on the air.

Speaker 6:

Hey. How are doing? It's Mike.

Speaker 2:

Hey, Mike. How's it going, mister?

Speaker 6:

Good. Hey. I wanna comment on that capital transit thing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. What do you got, Mike?

Speaker 6:

Really quick. You know, since I'm a Capital Transit use it quite a in my my whole entire life. Right. I enjoyed the bus services. They they do have some flaws like like that that gentleman was saying earlier.

Speaker 6:

They have some flaws, but the thing is, you know, they they people I every time I write the best, I don't I see some of that, you know, the people putting their packs on their on their on their laps and stuff like that and things like that. So, you know, they put a rib on the buses, but the thing is you gotta remember too, in the summertime, it's worse because the tourist tourist use the city bus all the time. Yeah. And the buses get I but last year, they did a really smart thing last year. They ran the express bus on the weekend as well.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Well, and they made the designated routes just for tourists to try and alleviate the residential routes, but that was in response to that year before.

Speaker 8:

Was not

Speaker 6:

good for the summer because of because of so the regular bus bikers like myself, we we were able to catch the bus. I had no problem no problem playing the seat. So I just wanted to get my 2¢ in before the show was over.

Speaker 2:

Well, I appreciate you calling in, Mike. And, yeah, you are a frequent Capital Transit rider, so I'm glad that you called in and voiced that it it is it does happen. It's pretty crowded, and, yeah, hopefully, people are listening.

Speaker 6:

All the time. So the summer. That's the that's the worst that's the worst thing in the summer. It's like, hey. I I stand up on the bus several times too.

Speaker 6:

It's like, you know, then when a seat comes open, opposite the lady or opposite the elderly, that kinda put up and then go from there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. That's all we can do is help out those that actually need a seat and make sure we have plenty of space for everyone on

Speaker 3:

the Treat treat others the way you wanna be treated.

Speaker 6:

Exactly. Exactly. So I just wanna get my 2¢ in.

Speaker 2:

I appreciate you calling in, Mike, and it's always good hearing your voice here on ProblemCorny. You should call in more often.

Speaker 6:

I'll try.

Speaker 2:

Alright, mister. You have a great day and a great weekend, and I'll see you soon.

Speaker 6:

You too. Alright. Have a night. Alright. Bye bye.

Speaker 6:

Bye.

Speaker 2:

That was my Uncle Mike that called in. Hey. Always good to hear him call in. So we do have a couple more minutes left of the program. So I do just wanna cycle through all of our call ins real quick.

Speaker 2:

So dining room table, six chairs, two leafs, first come first serve. You do gotta pick up the table. So it's located at 8184 Thunder Street. And then we have that glass computer desk for $250 and the two shelf wood file cabinet for $75. If you're interested in either of those items, you could call (907) 957-8813.

Speaker 2:

And then that DVZ Flying V Guitar with a rosewood fretboard, they're asking $700 for that, and it's about ten years old. If you're interested in that guitar, you can reach them at 907508196. And then we had that 2,003 Ford f one fifty, a little rested, but still mechanically sound. If you're interested in that, you could call them at 90750335. And then we got some plastic totes popping out for free tomorrow over at Swipe for fifty.

Speaker 2:

And then we had that gentleman with the medical bed by Surda for $500 and then that 16 foot Lund with all the fixings except for the motor. If you're interested in either of those items, you could call (907) 209-6270. And that shall do it for all of our items today. I do have to find our closing element real quick. So real quick, Nayno, what is going on tomorrow with the assembly before we close things out?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so it's a special assembly meeting at 08:30 and they will be introducing the new budget and there'll be opportunities for public testimony. It's a very, you know, thick document when it comes to the budget, so there's a lot to go through, a lot to digest. It's a good thing to sit there and read through it while they're presenting on it, and then after the meeting, you know, you can ask any of your assembly members any specific questions that you may have about it. But it's an excellent way to, you know, get an introduction of municipal dealings and getting educated and experienced on how the city operates.

Speaker 2:

Sweet. A lot of stuff happening. We've got that budget meeting. We have a rally going on tomorrow at noon. Folk Fest is around the corner, so a lot of stuff happening here in Juneau this coming week.

Speaker 2:

But thank you all for calling in today. It was definitely a very interactive Problem Corner today.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, just the way we like it.

Speaker 2:

Just the way we like it. Thank you, Nana, for always joining us on Friday.

Speaker 3:

Oh, thank you.

Speaker 2:

And I hope you guys have a great weekend. It is closing weekend at Eagle Crest, so if you did not see that announcement, it is the last weekend of Eagle Crest for the winter season just due to the snowpack and the base. So they they don't wanna operate that last weekend just because it might rain, we might lose some more snow. So get out there. A lot of fun to be had.

Speaker 3:

Get your last runs in.

Speaker 2:

Oh, yeah. Well, this has been Problem Corner here on KINY. I'm Justin Miller, and we'll see you guys back on Monday.
