[00:00:00] Welcome back to Fashion [00:00:15] Files with Caris Renee. I'm your host, Caris Renee, and this is season two. I'm so excited. I hope you guys are just as excited as we are. So let's jump on in here. So. [00:00:30] Today we are going to talk about the trends that we're gonna see for this year in 2025, and we're gonna go ahead and start it off strong and start with Pantone's Color of the year.
So I know y'all probably already been seeing this, but [00:00:45] I wanna get into what the color of the year is and how you can kind of incorporate it into your wardrobe as well. Funny thing is. I don't have this color. I don't own this color at all. I tried to do the best that [00:01:00] I could with things that were in my closet so that I could bring you guys something that was close to it.
So this is the closest I could get to Mocha Mose, which is the color of the year for 2025. It's this beautiful. [00:01:15] Medium brown, like giving a little bit caramel. But Mocha, I know a lot of people are like, I have a good friend that says like, uh, when you ask her like what her shade is, well not when you ask her, but when she's talking about what shade she is, she says she's [00:01:30] mocha caramel mocha.
And I'm like, girl, you're not Mocha, you're light-skinned, but it's okay. Anyways, mocha MOUs is the color for 2025, and this is the closest I had to it. So I hope this works for y'all. It's a little bit lighter. [00:01:45] But I'm gonna have to get me some so I can incorporate it. I don't wear brown a lot, so I don't really have brown in my closet because I feel like I'm Mocha mose, you know what I mean?
So I don't really wear the complexion that I am, but I can [00:02:00] incorporate it in different ways in my closet, even if it's not the main core color of an outfit. And I'm gonna talk to you guys about how to do that as well. As we already know, one of the main ways that you can incorporate things that if you wanna add a [00:02:15] pop of color that you're not used to wearing is through accessories, which is also something that is gonna be trending in this year, is bold statement accessory pieces.
So find you some. Mocha moose pieces [00:02:30] that you can add to your wardrobe, right? So if you have something that is nude or maybe even like a green or anything like that. I don't do black and brown, but if you do, I'm not gonna judge you. It's [00:02:45] okay. It's your preference and your style, but you can figure out a way to do it unless you're doing leopard.
'cause you know, leopard, that's just not a color, that's a print, but it just works. So if you figure out how to incorporate that, then you can add some bold [00:03:00] accessories that can incorporate that color. But not only will you be seeing that color in your wardrobe, you'll also see it in home decor. You'll see it in beauty, so you can add like a statement eye. Maybe you do it with your eyeshadow looks [00:03:15] or even your lipsticks. I have my favorite brown lipstick Rihanna has a brown lip color and her lip line, and it's gorgeous.
And there's another brand that I really love. True grit. Who is that by? I [00:03:30] can't remember. But if I find, if I remember who it is, I'll put it on the episode for our YouTube watchers and you'll be able to see it. But true grit and the Rihanna, um, chocolate brown. Those are beautiful ways. And so you can use that with your makeup to [00:03:45] incorporate the color.
So think bold accessories. Um. Makeup pieces. You can also add it into your home decor. You're gonna be seeing it everywhere. It is gonna take over. You might get tired of it. Honestly, like I said, I'm not really a brown girly. I [00:04:00] have a really, one of my good friends that she loves Shades of Brown, and she's going to eat this up.
She's already done her wall in her beauty room. She's also her makeup artist. She's already, hi Mercedes. She's already done her [00:04:15] wall in her beauty room. Three different types of shades of browns. It's like D different prints and patterns. And so that's another way that you can incorporate it. So incorporate it in your home day decor.
In addition to the number one color for the year, there are [00:04:30] also some additional colors that we're gonna be seeing for this year. So. The other colors are going to be fiery red, emerald, dusty, pink, , and tangerine. So if you not really feeling those [00:04:45] mocha mousse, that's okay. Try to incorporate one of the other colors, which I love.
'cause of course, of course, you know the pink I love, which I kind of have some of the dusty pink that's featured on my boot. So you can see that there. The tangerine and the fiery [00:05:00] red and the emerald. I love emerald, which I, of course I also is feature in like the jewels and my belt right here. Um, and so that emerald, we'll be able to transition that from, 'cause we talked about emerald.
If you saw our last episode, we talked [00:05:15] about emerald being a color that we could use in winter and that was one of the season colors that we could use. And you can transition that into spring as well. And so. Start bringing those colors into your wardrobe as well. If you don't want, if you're not too much of a [00:05:30] mocha moose girl, it's okay.
But these colors also pal, pair very well with, with the brown, so there you go. Next let's talk about some of the silhouettes that we're gonna be seeing for 2025. So we're gonna be [00:05:45] seeing those exaggerated shapes, which you know, we talked about in previous episodes. So think about your wide leg. Pants, your exaggerated shoulders, your oversized coat moments. So those, uh, silhouettes you should be seeing a lot and maybe figure out [00:06:00] ways to also add those and introduce those into your, um, closet.
So maybe you'll take a oversized blazer. Y'all know I love blazers as dresses, but maybe you'll take a oversized blazer and pair it with something fitted underneath. To be able to add that interest or [00:06:15] even a oversized coat or the wild leg pant moments. We talked about cargo pants last season, but you could try some other different, um, wild lids, like a wild leg, uh, high waist trouser.
I love those. And paired with a cute little crop top, you know what [00:06:30] I mean? And go ahead and add your statement. Bold accessories, .
This is a good way to tie in those minimalistic and Maxima ways to tie those two together. 'cause I know we have some minimalists and some [00:06:45] maximalist like me, and this is a good way to be able to tie those two personalities together. And this is not one of my favorites, but we did talk about the barrel uh, pants before, but also like the balloon pants. And you're also seeing [00:07:00] balloon sleeves. I saw this one girl that was trending on TikTok.
She had a emerald green dress and it had these balloon sleeves and she had bought it for her birthday dress, and she was like shocked when it showed up, even though the dress really looked. Just like [00:07:15] it looked on the site. So I don't know really what she was expecting, but everybody was like, girl, you just need to style it.
And so they gave her suggestions in the comments because TikTok is great at this point. I don't know if it's RIP or if it's been resurrected. Not sure when y'all see this. I don't know what's happening [00:07:30] right now. Um, but they gave her great ideas on how to style it and it looked beautiful. Now, I would wear the sleeves before I would wear the pants, but figure out what works for you and.
Try that and add that to your closet as well.
So [00:07:45] now back to those accessories. We already talked about the bold accessories with the jewelry and things of that sort. But don't forget about your bags. Remember we talked about those coach bags? This is the time to get those. Bring those out. I'm about to get mine. I haven't [00:08:00] gotten it yet. I don't even know if they are on sale yet.
Listen, I am eyeing those coach bags, but remember, they are also those oversized moments, big statement bags and opera gloves. Those are having a moment. They're coming back for some reason, and [00:08:15] I love a good extra moment. Give me a reason to dress up and be extra. Yeah, I'm gonna pick that every time. And you should too. I'm so excited. Apparently it looks so close to the real thing that the girls are out here feeling like they got a Birkin.
And honestly, shout out to that because sometimes a luxury items feel so not [00:09:30] accessible for everybody. And if you get something and it makes you feel more lux than you know, I, I don't have a problem with it now. Me personally and I know, don't try to comfort me like y'all tried to do with them. [00:09:45] Tabby shoot.
Okay, but I don't have a desire for a Birkin. I honestly don't think they're cute, unpopular opinion. Actually, that opinion is very popular. I know a lot of other people that feel the exact same way, however, [00:10:00] comma. If you feel like that, you will love to have a Birkin because you just love the status symbol of it and it feels like you know you have something exclusive in the fashion world.
I get it. And so go for it. But if you can't afford [00:10:15] that and y'all are running to get these Walmart workings. Go for that too, because accessibility, things like that should be available for everyone. And so I just, I have no desire to have something that people don't really want me to have. [00:10:30] You know what I mean?
And it's just not that cute to me. Like it even Jane Birkin herself, the reason why the Birkin was created and named after. She used that bag like it was a trash, she [00:10:45] wanted a a go bag. Like she put everything in that bag and now people sit there, birkins up and like it's a, a badge of honor and trophy.
But again, to each it own have had it sis. But I wanna know what y'all think about the [00:11:00] working, what y'all think about this whole Birkin conversation. 'cause it's a lot of people that are on both sides. Some people don't like the fact that there's this new, um. Accessible looking, uh, Birkin for, for the masses.
[00:11:15] The people, they, they don't like it. And, and apparently it's making sales go down. I don't think, I don't think Hermes, Hermes has anything to worry about. Right. And so, but there are some people that are like, yeah, because why shouldn't everybody have [00:11:30] access? Right. [00:11:45] [00:12:00] [00:12:15] All right. Now [00:12:30] y'all know we wasn't gonna forget my favorite part of the episode, the style spotlight. And because it's season two, I have two style spotlights for you guys today. So the first one up is Naing Marie. Sorry girl if [00:12:45] I mispronounce your name. I really tried. Anyways, y'all should definitely check her out. She does these bold looks. Okay. And she's also got y'all for the look the color of the year, [00:13:00] mocha Mose. Okay. And she did some other looks that were, um, featuring the fiery red, the tangerine orange.
Anyways, you'll be able to see some of those color trends and how you can style 'em and add 'em to your closet. And when I tell you her looks eat down, [00:13:15] one of the things that she is known for is that you'll see her where she is walking and showing off looks on a treadmill and. It looks like she is walking down the best runway, the best catwalk you have ever seen, [00:13:30] because the looks eat down.
And in addition to that, she has these bold accessories. She normally has rings on every fingers, layers of chunky, uh, bracelets, earrings, hats. Everything. So those bold [00:13:45] accessories that we talked about adding to your wardrobe, she's also a good way that you can see how you can incorporate that into your own wardrobe.
