Good morning and welcome. Today’s Torah portion for Thursday of the portion of Hukkat. And I want to point out that sometimes Hukkat and Balak are combined, sometimes they’re separate. This year they are separate. In the book we use here, page 208, chapter 20 verse 22, the book of Numbers we have segued into the 40th year. We learned earlier about the passing of Miriam the prophetess, we talked about the fact that there were three great prophets during the generation of the desert among others they were three siblings: Miriam, Aaron and Moshe. On the 10th day of Nisan, Miriam passes away, and now we lead up to Aaron’s passing. Aaron passed away on the 1st day of the month of Av, Rosh Chodesh Av. As the period of the Nine Days enter, we always think about Aaron, who was a promoter of kindness and goodness and peace. So this is what we’re about to learn today. How old was Aaron at the time? 123. Imagine what he did to Social Security. This podcast was produced and sponsored by Daniel Aharonoff.
