00:30
DJ Whippopatomus
I'm good. I'm really excited to finally get this going. It's been a long time coming.

00:33
1pump
Hell yeah.

00:34
DJ Whippopatomus
That's all games.

00:34
1pump
I'm excited to be here. Glad we got this able to work. Cause we're doing this. Kind of a little unorthodox, huh?

00:42
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, a little bit.

00:44
DJ Whippopatomus
But it's cool to switch things up.

00:45
1pump
Heck yeah.

00:46
DJ Whippopatomus
You know?

00:46
1pump
Yeah, obviously.

00:47
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. So for the listeners out there. Yeah. We couldn't make it into the studio. I happened to be in town and so I pulled up 1pump and we're doing a little different this time, but. Yeah, why don't you introduce yourself to the people, let them know where you're from, what you do, all that.

01:04
1pump
All right. So hello everybody. I go by the name of 1pump. That is the numerical number one P U M P. Anywhere you need me to be at the number one P U M P with an underscore that's all socials and streaming networks. Like I said, the number 1pump.

01:28
DJ Whippopatomus
Yes, sir.

01:29
1pump
I'm from Virginia Beach, Virginia, 757, you know, where the illustrious Pharrell, Pusha T, Clipse, shall I say? Let them know. Missy Elliott, Timbaland. Timbaland, things like that. Michael Vick. Yeah, all that cool stuff.

01:46
DJ Whippopatomus
That's crazy.

01:48
1pump
And what else did you say? Where I'm from, what else?

01:52
DJ Whippopatomus
What you do?

01:53
1pump
Oh, I make music. Yeah, yeah, I make music. I do more than just making music.

01:58
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, you do music.

01:59
1pump
I. I'm also a CEO of Slay Entertainment.

02:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Right, right. That is my entertainment company.

02:06
1pump
Yes. All right. So that's my entertainment company which is essentially now my umbrella company to my also now production company which is called home team Productions. The Home Team Productions.

02:18
DJ Whippopatomus
Word, word.

02:20
1pump
We are a Virginia based production company that we specialize in events. Event production. What? Video production, photos, things like that.

02:35
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, for sure.

02:37
1pump
We will come record your event, we'll take pictures of the event, we'll set up the lights and things for the event. That. That doesn't. That doesn't box anything in. Y' all.

02:48
DJ Whippopatomus
Bring it to life.

02:49
1pump
Yeah, we'll do. We'll do your music event. We'll do weddings, birthday parties, whatever the case.

02:53
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, okay.

02:55
1pump
Things like that. I actually got a wedding booked in. In October of like, 2022, I think.

03:02
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, yeah, it was okay. Okay.

03:05
1pump
2022.

03:06
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

03:06
1pump
Of like 2022 that I'm doing for one of my best friends, so that's pretty cool.

03:11
DJ Whippopatomus
Hell, yeah. What's. What's the story behind your name? 1pump.

03:17
1pump
All right, so the story behind the name 1pump. So the full story. Short story. I'll give you both short stories. Okay. For the ladies out there, it's exactly what you think. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. It's happening just like that. But short story long, we literally. Me and my homies, Me and my two best friends. So one of my. One of my friends named Melvin, who.

03:47
DJ Whippopatomus
Who.

03:48
1pump
Who actually gave slay ent its name. He. Me. Him and Brandon were like, chilling in the car one day.

03:57
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

03:58
1pump
And were coming up with. We was just like. We were just like. We was just like, eff it. We about to go into the porn industry.

04:07
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

04:08
1pump
And we gotta. We gotta figure out our porn.

04:11
DJ Whippopatomus
Y' all were serious?

04:12
1pump
Yeah. So no doubt. My porn name happened to be 1pump. And it's because. Yeah, when I lost my virginity, it literally. It literally happened in 1pump.

04:23
DJ Whippopatomus
So I respect it.

04:24
1pump
There's that. So, yeah, that's the name.

04:28
DJ Whippopatomus
Hell yeah. Yeah.

04:29
1pump
But the reason.

04:29
DJ Whippopatomus
You haven't heard the full story behind it.

04:31
1pump
Nah. Yeah. The reason I kind of went over to Wop up, like, as the artist name and, like, basically the reason I did that was for search engine purposes, for my manager. My manager. Cold Cupid Shout Out Colt. Keep it. The best manager in the. In the nation.

04:50
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

04:50
DJ Whippopatomus
For real.

04:51
1pump
He basically. Basically with search engine purposes, like on YouTube, searching. Depal isn't always friendly to the eyes. Pimple popping.

05:00
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Facts, facts.

05:02
1pump
So we decided to go with 1pump. Cause I pop up automatically.

05:05
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

05:06
1pump
And that's on, like, any and everything. Like, you could Google 1pump and I'm gonna be, like, the first person that you see. You could look me up on, like, anything. And it's like, that's smart. I'm the first 1pump that pops up anywhere and everywhere.

05:17
DJ Whippopatomus
Right? Yeah. I really love how you brand yourself. You're really on point with these. You stay consistent. Hell yeah. And creative with it too.

05:23
1pump
Thank you.

05:24
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

05:25
1pump
I feel like branding's very, very important. Like, I just put in a song. My first performance ever. I wore a Turban, and it's like. And I literally sing song. My first performance ever, I wore a turban. I don't know. I just knew that I needed an image.

05:40
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah.

05:41
1pump
I just knew. I knew it was a small percentage of it and that the branding was a very much larger percentage. Percentage, shall I say? So I've always paid close attention to that, and just.

05:53
DJ Whippopatomus
That's dope.

05:54
1pump
Yeah.

05:54
1pump
Just knew that regardless if I make good stuff, it doesn't matter if what I'm presenting them isn't appealing to their eye. They want to see something nice, you know what I'm saying? So I just made it make sense. Like, that went from there. So, yeah, I definitely. I definitely take a lot of pride into my branding and stuff like that, so. I appreciate that, bro.

06:13
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, bro. Yeah, you're definitely pointing with this. It's just crazy, like, how. How your images evolved over time, too.

06:20
1pump
Hell, yeah.

06:21
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Especially, like, with the clothing. I think you do a really good job with your merchandise. Thank you.

06:25
1pump
Thank you.

06:25
DJ Whippopatomus
You offer a whole lot of different variety of things.

06:29
1pump
Yeah.

06:30
DJ Whippopatomus
The ashtrays, the lighters, socks.

06:33
1pump
I try to.

06:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Socks are fire, by the way.

06:35
1pump
Thank you.

06:36
DJ Whippopatomus
I love them.

06:36
1pump
I basically. I approach my distributor. Okay. I approach my distributor aspect from a consumer aspect, and it's like, I basically, like, you know what I'm saying? Like, the things I like. I really like socks, you know what I'm saying? I really like cool lighters. I really like ashtray.

06:51
DJ Whippopatomus
Like, your ashtrays are really cool. Thank you.

06:53
1pump
I really like customized things, you know what I'm saying? So it's like, basically it helps me as a distributor by being such a constant consumer and adamant consumer that's adamant on quality. And, you know, I'm saying longevity of product, things like that. Just making sure I'm getting my. My, you know, my money's worth and stuff like that. So I. I appreciate that. But, yeah, that's. That's why it's. It is the way it is because, like I said, I approach it from a way that's like, all right, if I was buying this, I would want it to be at, you know, a certain caliber, quality.

07:28
DJ Whippopatomus
Like, I feel like rappers are a brand in a way. Like, they need to understand, like, how to brand and brand themselves. And, like, I think it's really cool, like what you did with Pitbull with the frontal leaf collab.

07:42
1pump
Hell, yeah.

07:44
DJ Whippopatomus
I love seeing rappers work with other businesses that can. That can really be a thing, honestly. I think, like, you're just. You're A pioneer of it.

07:52
1pump
Thank you. Oh, yeah. Shout out scholarship by D.J.

07:56
DJ Whippopatomus
Right?

07:57
1pump
He got me in with Pitbull. I. I kind of just found the Fronto. I had a friend put me onto the Clean Leaf Fronto and I found out that I was local. I basically was buying it out of the stores. Like, I would go to a store and buy all of the clean leaf that they had. So I got to a point where I was just like, how can I get in contact with this person? I was just looking at the package and then I realized that they were local, contacted them, and basically just told them what I had going on. So, yeah, once I found out bro was local, I essentially just contacted him and was like this. What I do, I make music. I got an audience of, you know what I'm saying?

08:39
1pump
I could do this for you if you're willing to support. So we just linked up after that. We ended up having a meeting and yeah, we came to an agreement. And now I'm actually a co owner.

08:52
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Okay. Making moves.

08:55
1pump
Yeah, I'm trying to get us a.

08:57
DJ Whippopatomus
Whole lot of different type of things.

08:58
1pump
Things. Absolutely. Hell yeah. I'm trying to get us. Trying to get us over in North Carolina to y' all wonderful stores.

09:03
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

09:04
1pump
Cuz y' all need this. A one clean leaf tobacco, 100%.

09:09
DJ Whippopatomus
It's hard to find good frontal out here for. For people who may not be familiar with Fronto leaf. Can you let them know what it is?

09:17
1pump
So Fronto leaf is essentially. If you smoke backwards, a Fronto leaf is where that came from. It is big. The big leaf that essentially you take a backwood from and you roll up.

09:31
DJ Whippopatomus
And you turn into a little backwood.

09:33
1pump
Yeah, yeah, it's the big leaf. It's basically one backwood, but it's like a bunch of those. So it's a large leaf, but ours is 100% chemically free.

09:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

09:46
1pump
Locally farmed in Virginia as well. So that's cool. Okay. It's just very fresh. It's. The reviews kind of write themselves with Clean leaf.

09:57
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah.

10:00
1pump
I really just want to bring it to North Carolina just to show you guys, you know, what you're missing out on, for real. And it's only a matter of time before we're in all 50 states and over the sea.

10:13
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay, so y' all are moving.

10:14
1pump
Yeah, that's how we're going right now. But yeah, for as of right now, we are only Virginia based. Yeah, yeah. However, I'm working on some things. I'm putting some pieces into motion. Playing chess Matter of time. Yeah. And they king.

10:30
DJ Whippopatomus
They king making plays.

10:32
1pump
Yeah, they came looking real takeable.

10:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

10:34
1pump
That's what I'm doing right now. Okay.

10:36
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Yeah. I love the partnership that you have. You know Tia Corinne.

10:43
1pump
I do. I'm definitely hip to show.

10:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yes. She actually did the same thing with Bojangles, because Bojangles in North Carolina chain.

10:50
1pump
Yeah.

10:51
DJ Whippopatomus
She did a music video or she made a whole song for Bojangles.

10:54
1pump
I've seen that.

10:55
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, it's tough. I love to see that.

10:57
1pump
Yeah.

10:57
DJ Whippopatomus
She's fired, but I really hope I see more. More rappers partner with businesses like that. Yeah, I think there's. There's a whole lot.

11:05
1pump
In my honest opinion. Jay Z said it himself, the route to becoming a millionaire as an artist is partnerships. And that. Yeah, that's the way to do it. Like, that's how you get the free money. That's how you get paid for being a voice, being influential. You need a partnership, and you represent someone else who has a bunch of money to give you to just be like, all right, now say you like this stuff or say you. You know, I'm saying. Say you use this thing. You know, saying, even if you don't use it, just, boom.

11:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Honestly, a lot of money.

11:39
DJ Whippopatomus
Y.

11:39
DJ Whippopatomus
Especially, like, local businesses, like, that can be a thing. Rappers, they're like spokesmen, spokespeople for their. For their communities.

11:47
1pump
Yeah, it's important to be marketable.

11:49
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Rappers are marketable, and they can communicate well. That's what they do. They articulate and so. Yeah. But, yeah, I wanted to also ask you, how long have you been making music?

12:03
1pump
I've been making music since about 2016, I want to say now. 2016. 2017. 2017 is when I, like, okay. Realized I could, like, you know, I could make. I could. I could do really good at this.

12:24
DJ Whippopatomus
Right, right.

12:25
1pump
And 2018 was a very important year as well. But, like, yeah, 2017 is, like, official. Official. So how many years is that now? Like, five.

12:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, something like that.

12:39
1pump
Yeah, five years now.

12:41
DJ Whippopatomus
How did it all start?

12:43
1pump
Okay, so I started making music because. All right, so I played the drum since I was two years old. However, I never really wanted to, like, rap or be on the mic, shall I say, as a whole.

12:59
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

13:00
1pump
Both my brothers make music or made music. Make music, either, say, or like, my old. I got two older brothers. My middle brother rapped, my oldest brother sing. I never really wanted to, like, do that, but yeah.

13:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

13:16
1pump
In college, I was introduced to a lot of producers, so I got some friends. I Got. I made a friend named Cash Flow and he was a producer. He was producing beats since he was a freshman in high school.

13:29
DJ Whippopatomus
I didn't know he produced.

13:30
1pump
Yeah. So I linked up with him and started making beats. And then I was just making a bunch of beats and no one was using them, so then I just started using them, too.

13:40
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

13:40
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

13:41
DJ Whippopatomus
Hell yeah.

13:41
1pump
He eventually. Cash, actually eventually made me a soundcloud.

13:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

13:46
1pump
Started forcing me to drop music.

13:48
DJ Whippopatomus
Need that.

13:48
1pump
And boom, now we're here.

13:52
DJ Whippopatomus
That's crazy.

13:53
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

13:53
1pump
So.

13:54
DJ Whippopatomus
So you were surrounded, like, as you were growing up, your family members made music too, so you're always kind of surrounded by it.

14:00
1pump
Yeah, for sure. I played the drums at my church for, like, ever.

14:03
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I meant to ask you about that.

14:05
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

14:05
DJ Whippopatomus
You're nice with the drums.

14:07
1pump
Yeah, that's my. That's my, like, real true forte.

14:12
DJ Whippopatomus
You ever, like, think about playing drums and rapping on stage at the same time?

14:17
1pump
Yeah, I want to.

14:20
DJ Whippopatomus
That's a. Yo.

14:21
1pump
I actually have a show coming up to play the drums on the 29th of March.

14:26
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

14:26
1pump
Right. When I get back, I'm going to LA.

14:28
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

14:28
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

14:28
DJ Whippopatomus
What's up with that?

14:29
1pump
The 24th through the 28th. Okay. I'm just going out there to just get a change of scenery.

14:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

14:35
1pump
My little vacation.

14:36
DJ Whippopatomus
For sure, for sure.

14:37
1pump
Some music.

14:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

14:39
DJ Whippopatomus
Take care of yourself.

14:40
1pump
Makes. I mean, smoke some weed.

14:41
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, for sure.

14:43
1pump
But when I come back on the 29th, I have to go to DC, play the drums for our homie Saki. He just dropped the track.

14:51
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Yeah, yeah, I've heard him before.

14:53
1pump
Saki and Tommy Richman, they just dropped a track exclusively via Rooftop tv. Okay. It's beautiful. It's called My Friends, My who? So I'm going to play the drums on the 29th when I get back in DC from my friend Saki, who just dropped a song called Taking Me Back for the Night with. With the homie Tommy Richman via Rooftop Collective. And, yeah, it's gonna be very dope.

15:21
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

15:22
1pump
He's gonna perform like his. His EP that he just dropped previously.

15:27
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, yeah.

15:27
1pump
And things like that.

15:29
DJ Whippopatomus
That's exciting.

15:30
1pump
That's gonna be fun. I'm looking forward to that. Yeah. I'm trying to play the drums a lot more and show that I play the drums because for real, it's like I said, it's my. It's my first real love, my first true love when it comes to music. And.

15:48
DJ Whippopatomus
How old were you even start playing the drums?

15:49
1pump
Two years old.

15:50
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, my God. What?

15:52
1pump
For real? I'm 25 now, so.

15:54
DJ Whippopatomus
Damn.

15:55
1pump
I like telling people. Ingrained in you playing the drums. Cause it's like sometimes it'll be older than people.

15:59
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

16:00
1pump
Like, 23 years is a long time. Yeah, yeah. Like, and it's to the point where. You know how moms play music over their bellies.

16:09
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

16:10
1pump
When they're pregnant. Like, I used to kick my mom's stomach. Yeah.

16:16
DJ Whippopatomus
That's crazy.

16:17
1pump
It was destined to happen. So.

16:20
DJ Whippopatomus
So, yeah. Your upcoming project, Slay R&B is coming up. Let's get into that.

16:26
1pump
Yes, sir.

16:27
DJ Whippopatomus
First of all, though, how would you describe your music to people that have never heard you before?

16:34
1pump
An experience.

16:36
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Okay.

16:37
1pump
It's an experience. Down to the. Down to the listening experience, to the. To the live performance. It's just an experience.

16:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

16:45
1pump
The performance, the energy is definitely different.

16:49
DJ Whippopatomus
It is.

16:49
1pump
But Slay R&B. Yup. It's my R&B project that I'm about to drop.

16:55
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I'm excited.

16:57
1pump
Yeah.

16:58
DJ Whippopatomus
You're switching it up.

16:59
1pump
Yeah, for sure. Switching it up on them. I had the creative direction by my homie Rain, and yeah, it's just two masterminds at work. Yes, it really is. Like, yeah, I went crazy on the music and he went crazy on the art.

17:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

17:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

17:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Can you let people know who Rain is?

17:18
1pump
Rain is one of the best artists. Honestly, it's crazy to come out of Virginia. He makes art in many forms.

17:30
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

17:31
1pump
Whether it's. Whether it's physical art on canvas and that can get 3D on you. You know what I'm saying? Digital paintings, all types of art. Like, he's an artist and in my honor.

17:49
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

17:50
DJ Whippopatomus
That's how he's doing some NFTs too.

17:52
1pump
And yeah, NFT, he's literally one of the NFT pioneers. In my honesty. He's making NFTs before NFTs. Knew they were going to be NFTs. Like, he was already. He was already in that. Literally. So, like, yeah, Rain is, like I said, one of the best artists come out of Virginia, period. And yeah, that's one of my very good friends. One of my brothers. My. My spirit brothers.

18:19
DJ Whippopatomus
Love it.

18:19
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah.

18:20
DJ Whippopatomus
So how was he involved in the project?

18:23
1pump
Essentially, he did everything art related.

18:25
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

18:25
1pump
Like, everything. Like, I kind of just came to him with like a spiel, a couple little mini sketches, and he just kind of takes everything that I tell him and alchemizes to some amazingness, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'll hit. I'll I'll hit rain up 2, 3, 4 in the morning. Bunch of random text messages. He'll text me back 9am and hit me with the. I'll read it when I'm awake. Read it when he's awake. You feel me? Boom. Later on that day, he'll tell me, check the Google Drive, and boom, it's in there. So, yeah, I couldn't ask for better. I'm very excited for everyone to see everything that we've been doing and working on, because I'm excited to see it. Yeah, it's insane. Like you said, it's definitely a different bag.

19:14
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah.

19:15
1pump
For me, it was more just like a. I don't ever really consider myself a genre, so.

19:22
DJ Whippopatomus
Right, right.

19:22
1pump
Yeah. I'm just kind of doing whatever I really want to.

19:25
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, your sound is very versatile.

19:27
1pump
Yeah. So I kind of definitely woke up one day and was just like, yeah, I want to make an R B album. So here we are. And, yeah, same with what's coming after that, which is called Pumping the Big Blue House, which is a disco album that's gonna go. Kind of just woke up one day and said, I want to do that.

19:43
DJ Whippopatomus
That is it.

19:44
1pump
Yeah. That's already in the work. So, boom, that's coming soon.

19:47
DJ Whippopatomus
So you got them lined up. You have a master plan. You're the master of collaboration, honestly, working with. With Clean Leaf and. And Rain and, like, you work with a whole lot of other people. Who'd you collaborate with on. On the shirt you're wearing right now for.

20:01
1pump
Okay.

20:02
DJ Whippopatomus
Scott Summers two album release.

20:04
1pump
Xavier.

20:05
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

20:05
1pump
One of the craziest designers.

20:08
DJ Whippopatomus
We're blessed, honestly.

20:12
1pump
Yeah. I had him do the. I had him do the creative direction for Scott Summers. And Scott Summers, too. And I move in threes. There is a Scott Summers three.

20:21
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

20:22
1pump
You know what I'm saying?

20:23
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, man.

20:24
1pump
When we don't know Scott Summers three Dark Flash, what's happening? I don't know. Yeah, it's gonna happen.

20:29
DJ Whippopatomus
Dark Flash.

20:30
1pump
Yeah.

20:30
DJ Whippopatomus
Whoa. Y' all heard it here first.

20:32
1pump
Yeah. Dark Flash. Yeah, that's.

20:35
DJ Whippopatomus
I love that.

20:36
DJ Whippopatomus
The art. I already. I can't even imagine the art that's gonna come out of that, but I.

20:39
1pump
Know it's gonna be insane because, you know, Scott Summers, to the Light Within.

20:43
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

20:44
1pump
Summers, a hero reborn. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? We're just going to end the trilogy. Right. With a Dark Flag.

20:49
DJ Whippopatomus
So for the listeners who don't know that these are 1pumps albums, what was the first one?

20:56
1pump
Scott Summers, A Hero Reborn.

20:58
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

20:58
1pump
And then we have Scott Summers 2, the light within and Pump O' Lantern is out.

21:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I love Pump Lantern, bro. I love a good Halloween song album. I be spinning that.

21:11
1pump
Yeah, I got it in my mix. Like, that's the one.

21:14
DJ Whippopatomus
It pairs well with a lot of songs.

21:15
1pump
We got April Isn't for Fools. Yeah, we got him. That's a mixtape, you know what I'm saying? We got some SoundCloud audio Mac exclusive tapes.

21:26
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

21:27
1pump
Yeah, yeah, I'm about To drop another SoundCloud Audio Mac exclusive tape called Sky High. Yeah, that's a no Ceilings style tape that I'm about to drop.

21:40
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

21:41
1pump
Thinking about dropping, like next week. I'm gonna show you some of that.

21:44
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, please, man.

21:46
1pump
I'll drop it in next week. I'm gonna show you the whole thing, actually.

21:48
DJ Whippopatomus
Who did you work with on this project? Producers. Anyone else?

21:52
1pump
On which project?

21:55
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, on Slay R&B.

21:56
1pump
All right, so yeah, Slay R&B. I worked with a couple of different producers. A producer that went to my high school, Salem High School, Shout Out. My alma mater. Yeah, Feel Me Hertz Ketchup. And then I worked with another homie that went to my high school named Mark Bees. He's a producer from out here. Then I had the homie Ek on producer track, Another homie from high school producer track named Kel. And then the homie Turner, who my great friend Zaykay introduced me to.

22:35
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

22:35
1pump
He produced Shout out, zk, a couple of the tracks up here. He produced two of the tracks. And then my good friend Zenny's produced the track up here as well.

22:46
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

22:46
1pump
So yeah, some of SlayeR&B is a little. A little. A little. Some tracks are a little from a little while ago as well. Okay.

22:55
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

22:56
1pump
I've been having it in the works for a little while. Couple years now.

22:59
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

23:00
1pump
For real.

23:00
DJ Whippopatomus
So I'm excited.

23:02
1pump
Yeah, it dates back a little bit, but it's gonna be fun. It's gonna be. Yeah, it's gonna be fun for sure. Like, I'm very. I'm looking. Oh, I'm looking forward to. To putting everyone on to like the diversity, like that different style, you know? Yeah, I feel like. I feel like a lot of people, you know, they do jump around styles often, but it's like people don't do it well. Yeah, I'm here to show you that it can definitely be easily done. It could be done well.

23:30
DJ Whippopatomus
You just paving the way.

23:31
1pump
You just gotta know what you're doing.

23:32
DJ Whippopatomus
Exactly.

23:33
1pump
It's pretty simple. But yeah, so yeah, that's the producers that I worked with up here.

23:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Do you have a release date in mind yet for a Slay R B?

23:41
1pump
I don't.

23:42
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

23:44
1pump
Let's talk the management facts. No, I feel you, bro, but nah. Yeah, I don't. It's done. It's definitely done. It's just chilling. It's just in the cut right now. We just. We just wait until one day we wake up in the stars.

24:02
DJ Whippopatomus
You just know and the stars on.

24:05
1pump
The line and I'll be waiting.

24:07
DJ Whippopatomus
You already know for sure, so.

24:09
1pump
But we did release Love, a single from Slay R&B.

24:16
DJ Whippopatomus
That's right.

24:16
1pump
That's the only single that we've released so far that's been out since February.

24:23
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

24:24
1pump
So we do have love out.

24:27
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

24:27
DJ Whippopatomus
And, yeah, I love Dropped Love is a lot is a vibe.

24:31
1pump
Yeah, yeah.

24:32
DJ Whippopatomus
You dropped the visualizer for that on your YouTube.

24:34
1pump
Yes, yes, I did.

24:35
DJ Whippopatomus
And that's 1pump underscore.

24:37
1pump
Just 1pump.

24:38
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, just 1pump. Okay.

24:40
1pump
The number one.

24:40
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. I love that. Yeah. You pay attention to all the details.

24:45
1pump
Absolutely. But, yeah, so we. We also have the visualizer for love out and Beautiful. It's just a vibe, like you say. Like, it's just. It's just really setting the tone. Still gonna drop a official video, but we do have the visualizer out now.

25:02
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

25:02
1pump
To just hold them over.

25:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, for sure.

25:05
DJ Whippopatomus
For sure.

25:05
1pump
Give them a little taste.

25:08
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

25:08
1pump
But, yeah, we're just. We're just working on visuals and things like that to properly execute the way we want to go about releasing.

25:19
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

25:19
1pump
I'm saying. And things like that.

25:21
DJ Whippopatomus
So it's obvious you have a whole lot of range, you know, like. Like we said earlier, you're stepping into a whole nother bag. And. Yeah, I love it. It's just that progression over time. Evolution.

25:31
1pump
Yes. And that's the most important.

25:33
DJ Whippopatomus
That's exciting.

25:33
1pump
Thank you. And the most important thing, man. The evolution.

25:36
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

25:37
1pump
Y' all gotta evolve.

25:39
DJ Whippopatomus
Exactly.

25:40
1pump
Just keep going. The more you do it, the easier it gets.

25:43
DJ Whippopatomus
You're never done changing.

25:44
1pump
Exactly. And then you do stuff like I did with the no Ceilings tape. The Sky High. I basically woke up one day and was just like, I'm gonna challenge myself. I used to. I kind of hate when people do. Basically what I did was just remixed a bunch of songs, and it's like, well, why do I hate it? I'm just gonna do it to see why I don't like it. Boom. Here we are. I enjoy it a lot.

26:08
DJ Whippopatomus
Testing the limits.

26:09
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

26:09
1pump
So now I Like it? Yeah. So boom. It'd be like that.

26:12
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Like, your music, it makes people want to mosh. Makes people want to Bob. Makes people want to make love. Honestly.

26:20
1pump
Yes, sir.

26:21
DJ Whippopatomus
You got something for everybody.

26:22
1pump
I do, Yeah. I definitely feel like I have something for everyone, and I say that often, so I'm glad that you was able to see that on your own.

26:32
DJ Whippopatomus
One of my favorite songs, actually. And I don't think you've released it yet. Major league touring with Ellis Quinn. Yeah, bro, I heard you perform that at your album release, and that was different.

26:45
1pump
Yeah, absolutely. Hell, yeah.

26:47
DJ Whippopatomus
It's probably one of my favorites. I just. I love it.

26:50
1pump
Just.

26:50
DJ Whippopatomus
Just the essence of it on its own. The beat is crazy. Ellis told me he made the beat. Yeah, it's like a little ugly mane cross with, like, OG ASAP Rocky type of vibe almost. It's like. It's trippy.

27:03
1pump
Yeah, I feel that. Yeah, yeah. That song is not out, right?

27:08
DJ Whippopatomus
Is it ever gonna be out?

27:09
1pump
Yeah. Yeah.

27:11
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

27:11
1pump
Me and Ellis working on a tape.

27:13
DJ Whippopatomus
Yo. Okay. Okay.

27:15
1pump
On a nice little. A nice little tape, because that's exciting. Yeah. We made. We made visas. It was like. Oh.

27:23
DJ Whippopatomus
So, yeah, Shout out, Ellis Quinn.

27:25
1pump
Yeah, Shout out. Big shout out.

27:27
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. For real. He's making moves.

27:29
1pump
A lot of good stuff coming.

27:30
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I heard.

27:32
DJ Whippopatomus
I heard.

27:32
1pump
Yeah.

27:32
1pump
So. So I'm definitely excited for that.

27:35
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Actually, could I ask you to recite a couple bars off of that?

27:38
1pump
Yeah. What's up?

27:39
DJ Whippopatomus
I just want to highlight. Cause it's just, like, one of my favorite bars, like, ever. It's just straight up.

27:44
1pump
I take drugs, I'm a crackhead, I hear voices in my head don't give a. What mom said ran out the window, think I'm dead. That is. That's a true story. That's all.

27:57
DJ Whippopatomus
All right.

27:57
1pump
Next to me, I like to say my. My lyrics, if you. When you really listen, my lyrics are literally, like, my life. Like, things that I'm saying are things that I experience or things that I. You know what I'm saying? That I can see firsthand, like. Yeah. Like.

28:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

28:15
DJ Whippopatomus
It's a reflection.

28:16
1pump
Yeah. It's. It's very much a diary for me.

28:19
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

28:19
1pump
And, yeah, all of that is really true.

28:22
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, yeah. Yeah. I love.

28:23
1pump
That's funny.

28:24
DJ Whippopatomus
I love the energy, bro.

28:26
1pump
Thank you, bro.

28:28
DJ Whippopatomus
Man, that's funny.

28:33
1pump
Who.

28:33
DJ Whippopatomus
Who's doing the COVID Or Rain's doing the COVID art for your album?

28:37
1pump
Yeah. For SlayeR&B. Yeah, I got the COVID art finish. Oh, too.

28:42
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Okay. I'M excited for that. Yeah.

28:47
1pump
I already know for Scott Summers was done by Xavier.

28:51
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

28:51
DJ Whippopatomus
Because all your cover art is fire too. Like, you pay attention to all the detail. Like. Like I've been saying.

28:55
1pump
Hell yeah.

28:56
DJ Whippopatomus
Just all aspects. You're there. Yeah.

28:59
1pump
Xav. The COVID art for the first two.

29:01
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Yeah. Shout out Zay the Ruler.

29:03
1pump
He definitely. Yeah. Zay the Ruler. He definitely. He had. He had all his. He had his whole foot in his bag when he did the first. Yeah. Oh, God.

29:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Like, okay.

29:16
1pump
That was all. We went to the beach in, like, the middle of the winter and shot in the water, and I'm. It's freezing cold.

29:26
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

29:27
1pump
And then for The Scott Summers 2 Jones, I had the COVID shot by my homie Avery.

29:33
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

29:33
1pump
Who I met the day I met him.

29:36
DJ Whippopatomus
He shot the COVID Constant collaboration.

29:38
1pump
Yeah. I met him, and he's the homie from Tennessee who I met through my manager. Like I said, the day I met him, were just talking, having a conversation, and he was like, I'm a photographer. I was like, oh, you're a photographer?

29:48
DJ Whippopatomus
Well, he's nice with it.

29:50
1pump
I got an album coming out. You want to help me shoot the COVID And we shot the COVID literally, like, 30 minutes, and boom. Xavier helped. Was right there because Xavier is actually my roommate, so he was right there, and boom. We just. Boom. Made it. Made it do what it do. And yeah, he. He snapped on the first. I'm going to cover as.

30:10
DJ Whippopatomus
Honestly. Yeah. And what I love about your collaboration is all local, and you're keeping that dollar within the local community.

30:16
1pump
Yeah.

30:17
DJ Whippopatomus
Just stimulating.

30:18
1pump
I pride myself in that part.

30:19
DJ Whippopatomus
Exactly.

30:19
1pump
It's important. Like, for one, it's a control freak sense because it's like, I want to be able to pull up on you if I need to.

30:27
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

30:28
1pump
But two, it's like, you say, like, it's. I want it to be Virginia. You know what I'm saying? I want it to be someone that I can say is, like, representing the culture. Yeah. Like someone I could pull up on someone. I could call them on the phone and be like, I know this person. You know what I'm saying?

30:44
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah.

30:45
1pump
If I have.

30:46
DJ Whippopatomus
You have a connection to it.

30:47
1pump
Yeah. If I have the tools around me, it's like, I feel it's best to utilize what is around you because it's like. Is there, like, the connection, like, you can make more of a connection with someone that you can pull up on opposed to someone that's across the country? I feel like you're just Twitter dming.

31:05
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah.

31:05
1pump
Yeah, stuff like that.

31:07
DJ Whippopatomus
Exactly.

31:07
1pump
That's just me. And that's how I like to work. I like to work. Very interpersonal. And hands on, face to face. Face card is important, you know what I'm saying? Because one day they could literally snap their fingers and turn all the electronics off, right? All you got is the strength of your face card. So.

31:27
DJ Whippopatomus
Exactly. So, yeah, we're gonna take a quick break to play, y'all Major League Touring by 1pump and Ellis Quinn.

31:34
1pump
Yes, sir. Enjoy it.

31:37
DJ Whippopatomus
Let’s go. Y'all stay tuned. We'll be right back.

31:40
Music
[1pump & Ellis Quinn – Major League Touring]

36:03
DJ Whippopatomus
And we are back again. I am DJ Whippopatomus. This is local industry talks. And I am here with 1pump.

36:13
1pump
The number 1, punp. Anywhere you need me to be.

36:17
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. All right.

36:18
1pump
All that Scott Summers. All that heard.

36:22
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

36:23
DJ Whippopatomus
The black Scott Summers.

36:24
1pump
Yes. The black Scott Summers himself.

36:27
DJ Whippopatomus
The kid with the shades.

36:28
1pump
Kid with the shades. My mama called me black Jesus.

36:32
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

36:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Love it. Yeah. So can you. Can you tell us a little bit about. About your image, actually? Because that's a kind of a component of who you are.

36:42
1pump
I actually love Cyclops from X Men, like, a lot, like, since I was a kid.

36:47
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

36:48
1pump
So finding the shades was like. Like finding a pot of gold for me. Like, you know what I'm saying? Kid in a candy factory type vibe.

36:58
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

37:00
1pump
I kind of found the shades at a prom, and they were a prop in a photo booth, and I kind of just ran with it because, like I said, Cyclops has been my favorite X Men since I was a kid, so why not?

37:12
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I love it.

37:13
1pump
Yeah. Like I said, I knew it was a lot about image, and for real. For real. I realized growing up. I know you said keep my answer shorter.

37:22
DJ Whippopatomus
No, it's all good.

37:22
1pump
I realized growing up is really about becoming a kid again and just doing all the things I didn't like to.

37:26
DJ Whippopatomus
Do as a kid. Yeah. Okay.

37:27
1pump
It helps me really, like, you know, be about my inner kid. Plus, I have to be shaded up because I don't like looking people in the face. And your eyes are sacred. So I cover my eyes.

37:40
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Okay. Yeah. And all the pictures, all the social media, your eyes are covered.

37:45
1pump
Yeah.

37:46
DJ Whippopatomus
I love that you keep it consistent. Like. Like, it's serious.

37:49
1pump
Yeah. It's legit. Like. Yeah. Like, even to the point. Like, my friends know.

37:53
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

37:53
1pump
Like, if they're taking a picture, they'll either, like, edit my eyes out or they just won't capture my eyes because, like, that's important to me because.

38:01
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

38:01
1pump
That's your gateway to your soul, so.

38:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Exactly. Okay.

38:05
1pump
I try to keep things as sacred as possible about me and myself is sacred to me.

38:11
DJ Whippopatomus
I love that. And you hear that in your music too.

38:13
1pump
Yeah, for sure. Because it's like I give you. I give you myself in my music. So it's like, just listen, you know, I'm saying it's not about what you see, it's about what you feel.

38:21
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

38:22
1pump
Yeah.

38:22
DJ Whippopatomus
And I guess going off of that now, we got to talk about your performances, because I feel like you bring a lot of that type of energy to your performances.

38:28
1pump
Yes, for sure. One more time. It's definitely an experience. Like I said earlier, it's the experience. When I go on a tour, that's going to be the name of the tour.

38:40
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

38:40
1pump
1pump Experience.

38:42
DJ Whippopatomus
So it's super inclusive, too.

38:44
1pump
It's gonna be like the 1pump Experience. Cause, like, it's truly one of a kind. It's something that you can only experience, you know, like there, like. And like you said, because you've been to an event, like, you know, it's a different energy that you feel like you could never hear the song ever before that you'll hear it that one time, and it could become, like, your favorite song. Yeah. And then I could play you another one right after that, and it's like, whoa, wait, now, wait a minute.

39:14
DJ Whippopatomus
You know, it's a vibe, but, like, it also, like, you can connect the lyrics too.

39:18
1pump
Exactly. Like, like you said, it'll make you want to mosh. It'll make you want to bop. It'll make you want to two step.

39:23
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

39:24
1pump
It'll make you want to make love.

39:25
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, exactly.

39:26
1pump
So it's. It's different. So it's an experience.

39:32
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

39:32
1pump
It's the experience.

39:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Bet.

39:34
1pump
So. Yeah.

39:35
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. So going along with that, are there any rituals you sort of perform before performing? It can be anything.

39:42
1pump
I don't really. Yeah, I don't really do anything that's, like, consistent.

39:49
DJ Whippopatomus
Right.

39:49
1pump
In my honest opinion, my. The most consistent thing about the things that I do is the unorthodox approach to it and how unorthodox I am. That's the most consistent thing about the things that I do. The fact that it's unorthodox. So there isn't really a consistent. Okay, it's performance day. I know I'm gonna do this because it's performance. There's nothing like that. Yeah, I know I'm gonna get really high.

40:17
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. That's a ritual in itself.

40:19
1pump
Yeah. How? Like, what kind of high? I don't know until I get there. But, like, I know I'm gonna get really high, and I know I'm just gonna. I'm gonna be. I'm gonna be in my zone. Like, it all depends, though. Cause a lot. A lot of the time lately I have A lot to do with the event that's being thrown. So I have to play a bunch of different roles.

40:43
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

40:45
1pump
But it all depends, you know, I'm saying if I have the opportunity to fully hone in and focus in on being an artist at the time of performance, then yeah, I'm probably going to be on some real deal me time in my head, hyping myself up, getting myself right. It's, it's like a football game approach, right?

41:09
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

41:09
DJ Whippopatomus
Because you play football.

41:10
1pump
Yep, I definitely played football in high school. It's still, it's still the same type of football esque approach, but you know, different type of outcome.

41:19
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

41:20
1pump
Kind of the same.

41:21
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.

41:22
1pump
Yeah. It's still, it's still kind of the football esque approach, you know what I'm saying? Hype you up, things like that. And then you just attack. You go for it. So.

41:33
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh yeah. So I also like to get into who the person is behind the artist. So I like to ask a couple personal questions just to help the listeners get to know you better. Yeah. So as we established earlier from Virginia beach, what has the music scene been like in 757 for you?

41:53
1pump
For me, it's been the life.

41:57
DJ Whippopatomus
Right, Right.

41:58
1pump
My first performance ever was actually with a lot of powerhouse names such as Aldams.

42:07
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Okay.

42:08
1pump
So. And like I said, this is 2017, 2018.

42:12
DJ Whippopatomus
Damn.

42:12
1pump
First performance ever was with the likes of Al Dams.

42:15
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

42:17
1pump
Who else was on that event? ERA Hardaway.

42:20
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

42:22
1pump
I can't really even think of some other people. But you know, I'm saying like those two alone, like I, I rocks with ERA Hard. You know, I'm saying hard body. Like he's one of my good homies. Like. Cause like just like I said from being, from then to now, like the progression and the growth has been insane.

42:40
DJ Whippopatomus
Right.

42:41
1pump
Essentially like that was my first event ever. And after I performed there, it was basically like that introduced me to so many people that I had no idea of and like I didn't really know what's going on. Like it put me on to people like to like Traptastic. Another one of the names, another one of the big names from my first performance ever was formerly known as Huey Supreme. He's now known as Jesse Boone.

43:10
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

43:11
1pump
You know what I'm saying? Was also on the ballot. And it's like people like that like have already have strong established careers and Things like that. Like, I had no idea where I'm. You know what I'm saying? I'm performing alongside. I've always had the energy. So after that performance, it basically brought a lot of eyes and attention and a lot of people contacted me, like, there and afterwards and stuff like that, and it basically, like, really formed and molded my relationships. A lot of the relationships that I made and have. Have in the area right now, literally off my first performance.

43:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

43:46
1pump
And yeah, so I wouldn't say it's really been difficult because, like I said, I kind of made all the. All the needed ships that I needed to make and like one. One venture.

44:00
DJ Whippopatomus
Right, right.

44:02
1pump
But I don't know. It's been a lot of hardships, but like, for me, in honest, the. The area treats me well. You know, I feel that there's a.

44:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Lot of moving pieces.

44:17
1pump
Yeah, for sure. I just maneuver the best I can to the best of my. To the best of my want and to the best of my ability.

44:28
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

44:28
1pump
But mainly to the best of my want, because if I'm not doing what I want, then I'm not going to do a good job. That kind of feels for everyone. If you're not doing what you want, you're probably not going to do the best job because it's not what you want to do.

44:41
DJ Whippopatomus
So.

44:42
1pump
Yeah, but that takes a lot of trial and error.

44:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

44:45
1pump
Yeah.

44:48
DJ Whippopatomus
So another question I want to ask you is. This is a fun one. What are your favorite or what's your favorite local restaurant around you?

44:59
1pump
The Atlantic.

45:00
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

45:01
1pump
Sadly.

45:02
DJ Whippopatomus
What do they serve that's at the ocean?

45:04
1pump
Oysters. I will. I will go to the Atlantic and spend a hundred dollars alone by myself.

45:10
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

45:11
1pump
Oysters and beer.

45:12
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

45:13
1pump
God, yeah.

45:14
1pump
And then.

45:15
1pump
And then talk about how I want to get them closed down or get. Get one of the people fired. Well, not closed down. I won't get them closed down, but I will get somebody fired because I run that restaurant. I own that restaurant.

45:25
DJ Whippopatomus
Shout out to.

45:25
1pump
Shout out to my homie, my white boy, the bald guy that owns the restaurant.

45:29
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

45:29
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Okay.

45:30
1pump
But I own the Atlantic on Pacific.

45:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay, pull up.

45:35
1pump
We have oysters all night. Not on me, on you. You feel me? Tell them 1pump sent you.

45:41
DJ Whippopatomus
That's something that I feel like is unique out here. To the 757 is the oyster game, too.

45:45
1pump
It's seafood in general and how fresh it is and how close we are to the coast, things like that. I never really put that into account until I go places like Colorado.

45:52
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

45:53
1pump
In the middle of nowhere.

45:54
DJ Whippopatomus
You gotta go other places to gain that perspective.

45:57
1pump
Yeah, I love it though. So like I said, I'm about to go to the west and it's gonna be. It's gonna be foreign to them.

46:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

46:04
1pump
Kinda high key. Not really. Depends on what part San Diego is not. But I'm being like north la, so.

46:10
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

46:10
1pump
Kind of foreign to them, but.

46:11
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah.

46:12
1pump
Tacos ain't right. They having tacos, right?

46:16
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

46:16
1pump
Like this area, not having the tacos.

46:18
DJ Whippopatomus
They do have oysters on the west coast, right?

46:20
1pump
They. Nah, yeah, they. Yeah, they do for sure. I'm knowing they do.

46:23
DJ Whippopatomus
So.

46:24
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Another question I wanted to ask you is are you a cat person, Dog person or do you. Yeah, absolutely.

46:32
1pump
Yeah, I like dogs.

46:34
DJ Whippopatomus
You're one of the first people to say that. I've been asking that to a lot of artists.

46:38
1pump
Dogs are cool. I don't like. I mean dogs, not. I don't like dogs. Yeah, yeah, I like. Dogs are cool, but I don't like.

46:47
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

46:48
1pump
Dogs need too much. Cats come out the womb. Like I know to poop and pee over there. Cool.

46:55
DJ Whippopatomus
Exactly.

46:55
1pump
Where's the food? You know what I'm saying? I'll cuddle with you when I feel like it.

47:00
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. And the personalities are so distinct and.

47:03
1pump
All it is you. They just don't learn from you. They're going to literally turn into you. So I love cats, though.

47:08
DJ Whippopatomus
Cats, yeah. One last question I want to ask before we start closing things out. Just helps us gain a bit more perspective in how your work process is. How many hours of sleep do you usually get a night?

47:22
1pump
That can all depend on what's going on. I don't really. If I had to give you an average number, I could say from 7 to 12.

47:31
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Yeah. So you make sure you get it in.

47:34
1pump
Yeah, sometimes it all depends.

47:35
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, I feel like.

47:36
1pump
Get that 7 to 12 in after being up for 24 to 48 hours. After being up for about 24 to 78 hours. Hours, maybe 7 to 12, but you know, I'm saying we just catnap it and keep it going.

47:50
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

47:50
1pump
There's no such thing as a night and day. We kind of just. They all just roll together. We constantly, we constantly have to figure out what the number numerical day of the date is. That's. Yeah, that's a thing for us.

48:03
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay.

48:03
1pump
Yeah.

48:04
DJ Whippopatomus
Hell yeah. Yeah. So yeah, why don't you go ahead and let the listeners know where they can find your music, where they can find socials, all that.

48:15
1pump
The number One P U M P. Anywhere you need me to be. Wanna underscore on the socials? That's Twitter and Instagrams.

48:23
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

48:25
1pump
Apple Music, Spotify Audio, Mac, Google Music, Xbox, everything.

48:31
DJ Whippopatomus
Xbox Music what? Everything that's lit.

48:33
1pump
You can find me everywhere.

48:34
DJ Whippopatomus
Okay. Hell, yeah.

48:35
1pump
But, yeah, it was really fun. I was. I'm really excited to do stuff like this.

48:41
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

48:41
1pump
Because like I said, Slayer R&B is coming out and it's gonna be. It's gonna be worth it. It's gonna be worth the attention, it's gonna be worth the listen, it's gonna be worth the time, it's gonna be worth the support. It's gonna be something you want to get behind. It's timeless.

48:58
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah, it is.

48:59
1pump
Eight tracks. Because when you turn the number eight sideways, that's the infinity symbol.

49:03
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, man, it's deep.

49:05
1pump
It's. It's. It's. It's forever music.

49:08
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

49:10
1pump
Whether. Whether you're here because of Slay R&B, whether you're here because of Scott Summers. 2. Yeah, you're here because of Scott Summers, whether you hear from Pumpalander, whether you hear from him, whether you get here from the sky high, no seeing. Either way, you're going to enjoy the experience. You're going to enjoy the discography that you can go through. And like I said, it's the experience. 1pump is the enigma and him is very fitting.

49:44
DJ Whippopatomus
So, yeah.

49:45
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah.

49:45
1pump
It's very worth it.

49:46
DJ Whippopatomus
Oh, yeah.

49:47
DJ Whippopatomus
Yeah. It's been a pleasure. I really appreciate you sharing your story with us today.

49:53
1pump
