Right on Rangers is where Rangers fans ride the season in real time.
The LIVE shows are the heartbeat. Big wins, ugly losses, bullpen chaos, breakout heaters, trade rumors, roster debates, and the takes that come with actually caring about this team.
Sometimes those takes get hot. That’s part of watching 162 with people who are invested. But the reaction still has receipts. We use stats, film, history, roster context, and what’s happening on the field to figure out what the game actually revealed.
Between LIVE shows, we go deeper on the players, decisions, stories, and moments shaping Texas baseball.
Rangers first, always. When the calendar turns, the Cowboys, Longhorns, Mavericks, and the biggest Texas sports stories get their run too.
If you want sterile box-score recaps, this probably isn’t your show. If you want passionate Rangers talk with actual baseball underneath it, welcome in.
Hi,
and welcome to another edition of Right on
Rangers Live.
Coming at you in the bottom of the
eighth inning, Corey Seager.
He goes ahead and he sends one into
left field.
Wyatt Langford, though,
unfortunately grounds into a near double
play.
Wyatt's going to be at first base here.
Zero-zero ballgame.
MacKenzie Gore pitched extremely well.
There may be a review here why it
might be out.
It's going to be a close one.
It really is.
He might just be out on this play.
Goodness.
Zero-zero ballgame with the Angels.
Here we go again.
You know,
we will see how this one goes.
But Texas offense, one hundred percent.
I think you have to be disappointed with
the effort tonight.
Reid Detmers, good but not great.
a guy that the Rangers have beat up
on before.
Last time Reid Detmers came to Arlington,
Rangers kind of had their way with him.
In L.A., he's been very,
very good against this Texas offense.
But you thought maybe at home,
Rangers might break through.
Hasn't been the case tonight.
But, again,
have to laud the performance of Gore.
Give him his flowers.
He pitched beautifully tonight.
Team really did need a performance like
this from him.
And with the way the offense is playing,
they absolutely needed a performance like
this from him.
Three base runners, man.
Two hits, one walk.
Gore throws six frames.
And, you know, look,
at the end of the day,
ended up throwing a hundred pitches.
Wyatt Langford looks like is going to
retain his spot at first.
Actually, no, they give the out call here,
huh?
That was close.
They were leaving him on first base.
Had me confused for a second.
I don't have audio right now.
That is close.
But look, Wyatt Langford,
we know he can turn it on at
any moment, but he has been bad lately.
We talked about that last night on the
show.
Tough guy to have hitting three hole right
now.
You know,
we know he can erupt at any moment,
but man,
he is at this point eight for his
last forty eight.
Not a awesome guy that you want to
have hitting three spot.
Not saying he's bad, not saying he sucks,
not saying he needs to be benched.
But it is painful when you're in this
kind of slump and just happens to be
hitting in a prime RBI spot.
Bottom of the eighth, two outs.
And we are going to need a big
swing here.
It's not going to take much.
Maybe we'll get to see my favorite rule,
the ghost runner rule,
in effect later on in this ballgame.
Brandon Nimmo, one and one count.
Swing and a pop fly just off the
end of the bat here.
We're going to go to the top of
the ninth.
Latz, I'm assuming, coming in.
I don't know if I've seen any warm-ups,
seen any bullpen shots,
but I would assume you're bringing in lats
here for the ninth and maybe the tenth.
It is tight baseball here against one of
the worst teams in the major leagues.
We just love to do this, don't we?
We absolutely love to do this.
One of the worst teams in the majors.
Let's play a zero-zero ballgame.
Yeah.
Oh, you know the drill here,
Right on Rangers.
We cover everything Texas sports,
but we put a big emphasis on the
Rangers during the MLB season.
It is called Right on Rangers,
and we thank you for choosing Right on
Rangers for all of your Texas Rangers
content.
Drop a comment, drop a question.
If you're not following quite yet,
hit that follow button.
Would love to have you come along the
journey.
I tell you what, it's a riveting one.
I guess it depends on your perspective.
It's all in the eye of the beholder.
I mean, if you like pitcher's duels,
we got you.
We got you.
If you like a low-scoring affair,
the Rangers got that one on lock.
Ah, look,
posting all these Rangers history reels
that I've been doing.
You know,
today I posted one from the nineteen
ninety-six team.
Rusty Greer,
big extra innings homer on this date
thirty years ago.
Isn't that crazy?
Can you believe it?
Rusty Greer.
The Rusty Greer days were thirty years
ago.
Say that out loud a few times.
Just make you feel old.
But anyways,
it's so fun watching those teams when I
go back and look at the highlights and
then you got this twenty twenty sixteen
scoring zero runs against one of the worst
teams in baseball.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Oh, geez.
What's cooking, y'all?
I'm glad to be here on a weekend
with you.
I sure hope our boys can pull off
a walk-off win.
That's what it's going to take at this
point.
That is what it's going to take.
We got other guys who are notable in
this ball game to talk about.
Zeke Duran, another great night from him,
man.
Two for three.
Zeke's been doing all he can over the
last two games to get this team across
the finish line.
He's been making some great plays out in
the field, putting the ball in play.
Had a big triple last night that gave
the Rangers a big insurance run.
Cody Freeman having a great game as well,
isn't he?
Great game as well from Cody Freeman.
Flashing the leather.
Had an opposite field base knock.
Good day for Cody.
Friend of the show.
I'm a fan.
You guys know this.
I hope that he can continue to ball
out out there.
I'm not saying that Cody fixes all our
problems,
but I've said a number of different times
when he is up with the big league
club and when he's in the lineup,
it just has a little bit of a
different feel to it.
Jacob Latz's taking the mound right now.
You know, Cody, .
average on the year, small sample size,
but I mean,
you can't complain about that with some of
the other numbers that you're looking at,
one through nine for the Texas Rangers at
this point in the season.
Mike Trout up first.
Keep the ball up here.
Do not give this guy low stuff.
Good man, Jacob Lats.
A little too high.
Ball one.
Trout, a notorious low ball hitter.
You do not want to throw him a
changeup at the knees.
That's where we get in trouble here.
Challenge him up.
If you're at the YouTube, Instagram,
Facebook, X, stream,
you can see the hot zone.
Look at that hot zone right now.
That is red right down the middle at
the knees.
Throw him up high.
Jam him.
That's the way to go against Trout.
Lats a little uncompetitive here though so
far.
He has not given Trout much.
It should be a four pitch walk here.
Fortunately Lats he gets that pitch number
three inside strike.
Probably should have been a ball.
Can't imagine that Lats is trying to be
that careful.
I mean, look,
I know that Trout is a future Hall
of Famer.
He's burned the Rangers.
But, I mean, look,
you got to at least be competitive here
with him.
Can't just put him on first base for
free.
Ballesteros on deck.
Trout on the night, O for three.
Three and two count.
That is the way right there.
They have not thrown him a low ball
yet.
They finally listened to the right on
Ranger scouting report.
Don't throw this guy a low ball.
Do not miss low to Mike Trout.
You might get away with it.
Maybe.
Don't do it.
Do not do it.
Full count pitch.
Another high pitch.
Trouty doing a good job fouling it off,
making lats work a little bit.
Lats throwing nothing but fastballs.
Apple TV showing that.
Nothing but four seamers.
Latz, you know, ninety four,
ninety five touching right now.
We got a swing and a miss.
High cheese, baby.
That's how you got to get this guy.
High cheddar.
Don't throw him anything low.
That was a perfectly executed.
You would have loved not to have thrown
as many pitches,
but that's a perfectly executed AB.
Did not throw Mike Trout a single low
ball.
Dude just punishes baseball thrown at the
knees.
Love lats in the approach right there.
Let's see what we can get here at
first out.
So huge.
It is so huge.
Strike number one on pitch two here.
It's a one-one count to Ballesteros.
Oh,
and three with the strikeout on the
evening.
Ballesteros hitting in three hole.
Five ninety seven OPS in the three hole
for the Angels.
All righty then.
All righty then.
Ballesteros not having a great year,
but the Angels are trotting him out there.
Three hole it is for him.
Rangers got somewhat of a shift on here
as much as he possibly can.
What do we got, a bunt here?
What is Ballesteros doing?
What are we doing here, Kurt Suzuki?
That's got to be on him.
Dude, what are you trying to do?
You're bunting a pitch that's right at
your head?
Okay, thank you for the free strike.
Thank you for it.
We got a one-two count.
Jacob Latz on the year.
Numbers just are pristine.
One seventy three ERA.
You got the whip pretty sparkling as well.
Point seven four slowly rising.
Latz has allowed some base runners in his
last few outings.
Not something we're used to.
But I mean, look, by and large,
he's been great over his last three games,
four innings pitch, no earned runs,
six strikeouts.
He's doing just fine.
Rolls over here,
and Jake Burger is going to go unassisted.
Latze gets the first two outs pretty
quickly here,
and Grissom is going to stand between
Jacob Latze and the end of the inning.
Rangers,
if they can manage to take this one
zero zero.
Well, either way.
Right.
They are going to have bottom of the
order coming up or actually part of the
order.
Depends on middle of the order.
Depends on how you want to look at
it.
Duran, Burger and Lopez.
Duran, Burger, Lopez will be coming up.
Cody Freeman, the substitute for Cody,
it's an interesting move.
I'm not the biggest fan of it,
if I'm being honest.
I wish we would have left Cody in
the game.
I'm not just saying that because I'm a
little biased towards Cody Freeman,
but you would have loved to have maybe
done that with Foscue.
I mean,
Foscue's driven the ball decent a couple
of times tonight, but...
I don't love Cody not being in the
ballgame.
The glove is good.
I know Nicky Lopez plays a pretty good
second base,
but we'll see how that factors in.
Having Nicky Lopez up third,
hopefully he can be in a spot where
he can just put the ball in play,
have a quality A-B.
Bottom of the ninth, though,
coming up next,
if Lats can retire this final out.
Grissom, O for two.
He does have a hit-by pitch.
Does have a strikeout as well.
Three-and-one count, though.
Latt's definitely having, I think,
a little bit of control issues here
tonight.
He has thrown some non-competitive
pitches.
It's worked out for him so far,
but he has been a little all over
the place here.
He's about fifty fifty on balls and
strikes.
About fifty fifty right now.
Seventeen pitches, nine strikes,
eight balls.
Full count.
That is a strike right there on the
corner.
That was much better located.
Grissom fouls it off.
Here's the pitch.
Oh, Cardinal sin, baby.
Cardinal sin here.
Jacob Latz walks the two-out hitter.
Oh, two-out walks are just killers.
Don't like to see that.
But in last we trust Jose Siri up.
Siri with an interesting at bat last time
up.
Looked like he did a Vladdy Guerrero and
hit it off the bounce.
Looked like a foul ball off the bounce
on his bat.
And nobody saw it.
Nobody challenged it.
They actually motioned down to Jim Powell
who rung him up.
Said he went.
Didn't even look like he went, honestly.
I thought he checked his swing,
but he hit the ball.
It went right from the dirt to the
bat.
I have no clue how nobody caught that.
I think they were too hung up on
the check swing call,
and it was a questionable one.
There's been a few questionable check
swing calls of late.
The Rangers were on the bad end of
a couple of them last night.
I actually think the majority of them were
pretty good.
Siri won for three on the night.
He's quickly down oh and two here.
A called strike and now a swinging strike
just moments ago.
That was a beautifully painted pitch by
Jacob Latz.
Change up.
On the outside corner, right at the knees.
That's more like it.
That is more like it.
Jax, what's good?
Comment from TikTok, Seegs is hot.
Yeah, he is.
Two for four, another multi-hit game.
We said it.
If there's one guy in this lineup that
you feel can turn it on when the
lights are brightest, it is Corey Seager.
And I'm not saying the lights are
brightest right now,
like at this moment in time,
but they're getting up there.
They're getting up there.
The lights are definitely starting to turn
on a little hotter at this moment.
You've got the Rangers right in the thick
of a playoff race.
You've got, you know, about what,
thirty four games left,
something like that.
I mean,
it's starting to get down to the wire.
Two and two count,
and it's going to be ball three here.
Up high, so full count once again.
Come on, Latz.
Bear down here, bud.
Let's go.
Sugi, what's good?
Comment from YouTube.
Langford is ice cold right now.
Yeah, he is.
We were just talking about that to begin
the show.
It's just so hard when you have your
three hole hitter Langford, just ice cold.
Woo.
I don't know what Siri was looking for
there, man.
She's right down the pipe.
He looks for strike three and latch,
just putting it right down Broadway there.
Siri, just looking, just looking.
And the Rangers go to the bottom of
the ninth inning.
Ezekiel Duran coming up.
Watson, righty in the game for the Angels.
Duran two for three.
He has had a nice night up at
the plate.
He's had a nice little homestand so far.
He's seven for his last twenty-four.
two ninety two average a seven eighty
seven OPS over his last seven games.
Good stuff from Ezekiel Duran.
When's the last time my boy went yard
here?
When's the last time he left the ballpark?
Let's go check it out.
We got to go back all the way
to August third.
Not terrible.
August third against San Francisco,
he had a solo shot.
That was the four for four night.
If you remember when Zeke went four for
four,
that was his four for four night against
the Giants.
Man,
it would be nice to get another homer
here from him.
Don't want to really go to the ghost
runner rule.
You guys know how I feel about this.
I think the home team has a massive
disadvantage here.
I've explained this many times.
I'll give the short version.
It's just like you have a very,
I think,
strong psychological effect when you go
down in extra innings.
It doesn't matter.
You can tell yourself all day long, yeah,
we get the same opportunity.
When you go down,
it automatically creates pressure.
Automatically.
When you're tied,
it's zero-zero in this case,
but when you're tied going into extra
innings,
and you're the first team up,
you don't quite have that pressure.
You don't know what you don't know.
You're not down.
You feel no need to really press,
even though it is important you score.
I just continue to not be a fan
of this rule.
You know what I'd like to see them
do in the next CBA?
Ditch the ghost runner rule.
Just go back to regular baseball, please.
Go back to regular baseball.
Play it like you've always played it for
the past one hundred and fifty years, man.
There's no need to get cute with the
ghost runner.
No need.
I think it was a totally extra thing.
They did the pitch clock fine.
They were on this kick where they just
felt like every little thing slowing down
the game they needed to change.
The pitch clock has helped a ton.
I think that the ghost runner rule is
overkill and I'd love to see them exit
in the next CBA.
I really would.
Keep going.
Zeke Duran off the end of the bat.
Get down.
Get down.
Oh, it's down.
Oh, and it gets past Trout.
Zeke's going to second.
Is he going to third?
Oh, no, he holds up.
I was about to say, thank goodness.
Did not want to see him go to
third.
The cameraman was making it feel like that
was going to happen.
It did not.
Zeke holds up.
Siri not able to make the play.
Man, this dude just,
he wears his heart on his sleeve.
I think this is a guy you're either
going to love or hate, man.
He's very demonstrative, Jose Sirius.
Little blooper off the end of the bat.
I mean, honestly,
Siri should have caught it.
It should have been caught.
I don't even know what he's pissed off
about.
I mean, maybe he's pissed at himself.
But, dude,
that ball should have been caught.
It's a tough play.
It's not like an easy-peasy routine fly
ball.
But, dude, it went right past your glove.
Should have had it.
We'll take the gift.
I mean, look, all Rangers fans,
I don't think anybody's holding their
breath at this point.
Would love to see a run manufactured here.
Not sure you've got the guy up to
do it in Jake Burger.
But I wouldn't mind at all laying down
a bunt here,
righty on righty with Burger up.
Nope, not going to do it.
He's just not, they're not,
clearly they're not confident in it.
Righty on righty with Burger.
This is, for me,
a no-brainer on the bunt.
And I say that hoping that the reverse
jinx is in full effect right here.
Like, in full effect.
I love to eat a massive plate of
crow right here.
But if it's me, I'm bunting Burger.
Get him over to third base.
You got Nicky Lopez up.
You feel pretty good about Nicky putting
the ball in play up next.
You're not necessarily needing him to get
a single or get a hit or get
a home run.
Nicky,
we know he can put the ball in
play.
Burger on the night, over three,
not able to do a lot of damage
against Reid Detmers.
And this is Burger's sweet spot.
He is, he's a lefty crusher,
much like Justin Foscue has been known for
being this year.
And
When you're over three against a lefty and
you've got the splits Burger has against
righties, not the most ideal.
It can all change quickly, though,
with a positive AB here.
Burger down one-two, though.
Down one, two.
Green Arrow, this is why the error,
the lack of an error on Jose Siri
right there is why I always tell people,
don't trust errors.
Don't make arguments defensively about
players with errors.
It's all subjective based on the official
score.
It's all subjective.
I'll never trust fielding percentage or
errors when we're talking about a player's
value on defense.
It's just not worth it.
Not worth it.
Bottom of the ninth inning,
if you're just joining us,
zero-zero ballgame.
Rangers up to bat.
They've got a runner on second with a
chance to walk it off here against the
Angels,
who they have had a ton of problems
with this season.
A ton of problems.
Here's the pitch, one-two count.
Burger going to lay off some high cheddar.
Burger, on the year,
we're talking a little bit about the
splits from Berg.
And look, the...
The reality is he's not a good hitter
against right handers.
He's just not.
And he's going to strike out here to
kind of prove my point.
This is why you bunt with Berg here.
He clearly is not comfortable.
They're not comfortable bunting him.
It doesn't make any sense to not bunt
Jake Burger in that spot.
Burger against righties this season at
this point is a six seventy OPS hitter.
Six seventy.
I mean,
it's nothing special against righties.
I'm bunting him all day long there.
I don't think it's a particularly tough
decision.
If it's a lefty,
I'm letting him swing away.
If it's a righty,
it's a no-brainer to bump Burger there.
Too bad.
That's a big out for the Angels.
Joc Pederson in the on-deck circle.
Nicky Lopez.
Let's go, babe.
Nicky on the night has not gotten in
a bat yet.
Subbed in for, well,
I guess it was Kalanick, right?
Nicky foul territory just gets out of
play.
Thank goodness.
Air conditioning must have been blowing in
a little harder for that foul ball.
She's just got out of play.
Give me a little seeing eye single
somewhere and Zeke Duran use that elite
speed to get us home, buddy.
Bring us home now.
Nicky Lopez, two sixty three.
Average on the year,
six Oh five OPS was hitting three forty
at one point.
Feels like a couple of weeks ago.
He has he's gone on a little bit
of a downturn.
We've been talking about this.
Still a useful player,
still a useful player,
but he's definitely cool.
I don't think there's any doubt about
that.
Here's the pitch.
Lopez doing a nice job taking some
sweepers, taking some pitches inside.
It's a two-one count.
Ezekiel Duran actually is going to advance
to third here.
Let's go.
And the Rangers are now in business.
Now Nicky Knox.
Put me in play.
Put me in play, Nicky Knox.
Rangers receive a gift from the baseball
gods, or the Angels, should we say.
I don't know why that wasn't able to
be stopped.
I mean,
I've seen worse pitches than that one.
Not really sure why that one wasn't gloved
by the Angels catcher, Darnot.
Actually, now it's Heinemann.
That's right, Darnot started.
Now it's Heinemann.
I mean, look, looking at the replay,
it's tough.
That's a tough one.
In real time,
the ball looked a little bit closer to
his glove than what it was.
That's a tough one.
I retract.
That's a little bit of a tough one.
Come on now.
Oh, Nicky Knox,
curveball right down the pipe.
Must not have been looking for it.
Oh, that's a hanger.
Oh, he was bunting.
Oh, what a brutal sequence here for Texas.
Brutal sequence.
Nicky Lopez.
He is going to go down on strikes
here.
Oh, this is brutal.
Can't make this up.
That's why I told you guys, man.
You don't even hold your breath with this
team.
Two outs.
Nicky Lopez.
That's terrible.
What was up with the fake bunt?
Why are we fake bunting?
Wasn't it a three?
Was it a two-one count?
Why are we fake bunting on a two-one
count?
Nicky Lopez strikes out swinging here.
What are we doing in two-one bunting?
And it's a pitch right down the middle.
I do not understand the strategy there.
You're in a favorable hitter's count.
It's a two-one count.
I understand that he ends up going with
the curveball
Doesn't matter.
Yeah, they're going to walk jock,
as they should.
Evan Carter, chance to be a hero.
I tweeted before the show,
I am getting my hopes up so bad,
so bad for an Evan Carter heater.
I really am.
Yeah,
they're showing that fourth pitch to Nicky
Lopez.
The curveball right down the pipe,
and Nicky Lopez was like bunting.
I don't even understand that at all.
To come, so what's good, man?
Comment, get in there, Austin and Coach.
I'd love to.
I would have handled this inning a lot
differently.
That's why they pay Skip the Big Bucks.
I would have bunted Burger.
I definitely wouldn't have had Nicky Lopez
fake bunting on two-one with one out.
Look, dude,
you either commit to it or don't commit
to it.
Either bunt it right down the middle,
curveball, and do a little safety squeeze,
or let's swing away to one and just
put the ball in play.
Back-to-back terrible ABs.
The Burger one, I blame on Skip.
Skip's got a bunt Burger there.
Or, you know, look,
is the bench empty right now?
Danny Jansen's on the bench.
I'm not putting in Jansen for Burger to
bunt there.
Oh, two and one here to Carter.
He's going to take a ball in the
dirt here and then a ball up high.
Look, if anyone can get on,
Foscue will be up next.
Not necessarily the matchup you really
want.
Foscue, righty, righty,
but you don't have a choice.
And it's not going to matter.
Corey Seager, I mean, look,
he'll lead off in extra innings.
It's either going to be a Rangers win
or
Or it's going to be Foscue coming through.
It might end up needing to go to
extras.
I sure hope we can finish it right
here.
Strike call on Carter.
He is going to be called out on
strikes.
Wow.
Wow, wow, wow.
Just three terrible ABs, babe.
Three terrible at-bats in a row.
I mean, I said earlier, I posted,
the Rangers season in a nutshell is when
they had the bases loaded with one out.
And then, you know,
Foskey rolls over on one.
Corey Seager takes the pitch like right
down the middle.
And I tweeted, Ben,
that's the Rangers season in a nutshell
right there.
You have opportunities on the base paths,
and then you just totally wet the bed
when it matters.
And what did they just do?
Zeke Duran, you got gifted.
Gifted.
Just totally gifted that double by Jose
Siri.
I'm just beside myself.
Burger not bunting was the huge mistake.
Burger not bunting was the big mistake
there.
I have no clue why you are not
bunting with Berg there.
Clearly he doesn't do it,
but that's total BS.
The fact that this team,
with how bad the offense has been,
if you're that little confident in Burger
to bunt in that spot,
knowing the righty on righty splits,
what are you guys practicing?
What are you practicing?
Why wouldn't you be practicing bunts at
this point with how bad the offense is?
It's like,
are we sticking our head in the sand
and just pretending like all these guys
are monstrous elite hitters?
We need margin right now, babe.
We need small ball.
All these guys should be practicing
bunting.
It's ridiculous.
All of these dudes should be practicing
laying down bunts at this point.
Nobody.
I mean, even Corey Seager, look,
I'm not probably having him doing a whole
lot of bunting.
I'm not going to lie.
Everybody else in this lineup not named
Corey Seager should be bunting,
should know how to bunt,
and should be able to bunt when the
situation calls for it.
By the way,
Joc Pederson out of the game.
Danny Jansen in to catch.
Rangers are out of bench players.
So maybe we'll get a pitcher running or
a pitcher batting at some point.
I don't know.
Might get funky here.
By the way,
Rangers will have Tyler Alexander in.
Jacob Lats going to be done after one.
Little surprised.
I mean, look, Lats,
he threw a number of pitches in that
ninth frame.
He did just throw yesterday,
so I understand not wanting to have him
go two.
Would be nice if we could have gotten
Latz going two.
This offense, you're just left speechless.
You really are.
The offense just continues to amaze you
just how putrid, inept,
insert whatever adjective you feel is
best.
It's sad.
I just get so tired of the team
wasting gems like we saw from Mackenzie
Gort tonight.
And the bullpen, honestly,
has been so good.
Like...
You know,
you got to keep the focus where it
should be win or lose tonight.
You got to blame this offense.
I do blame them, even in a win.
It's like it shouldn't be this close
against the worst team in baseball.
It shouldn't be this close.
No, don't get it twisted.
I'll be pumped if we walk this off.
But it's ridiculous that the offense keeps
doing this.
It's like every other game at minimum.
And sometimes it's two out of three games,
three out of four games.
got to pick it up you're going to
get josh young back maybe that that's
going to help a little bit we've talked
about jj coming back and making things a
little more interesting offensively i do
think that will happen but man he can't
do it all all right by the way
jose siri starting out at second base got
a little speed out there
And with our outfield arms,
I'm not feeling very good about a base
hit not scoring a runner.
That ball would have to be smoked.
Absolutely smoked right at somebody for us
to have a chance at a throwout.
Guzman up to bat right now.
He is over three.
Angels only have two hits tonight.
They only have two hits tonight.
I mean,
that's how dominant the pitching has been.
And here we are.
I mean,
feeling like it's a coin flip this late.
That's why I say win or lose.
Offense needs to take some heat tonight.
A walk-off win is surely going to cover
up some of the issues, but man.
And there goes the tie game.
Tyler Alexander leaves one out over the
plate.
Guzman comes through.
He's going to double here.
Wyatt gets it in.
Angels trade batter, base runner.
They've got the runner standing at second.
No out, no one nothing lead.
Disgusting.
Absolutely disgusting.
That top of the ninth, I mean, look,
I don't love to do the meltdown stuff.
You guys know, I mean,
I get hacked off and upset at
a number of things throughout the course
of a show,
but I don't like to do the full
on meltdown and get crazy extreme.
But I mean,
can I just say this like mildly calmly,
uh,
With the top of the ninth,
you kind of do deserve to lose this
game.
I mean, let's be honest.
The arms necessarily don't deserve a loss
here,
but you do kind of deserve to lose
if you're the Rangers.
You were given a free gift there in
the bottom of the ninth inning,
and you totally soiled the bed.
You just soiled the bed.
Skip, I think,
has got to take some hack.
Why are you not bunting with Burger?
He's terrible against righties.
Not been really in a good stretch.
I know he's done some things here and
there when a lefty's on the mound.
By and large,
Berg has not been good of late.
And I just don't understand why you're not
bunting him there.
The only reason I can really think of
is he's not comfortable.
He doesn't practice it enough at this
point.
No clue why not every single person on
this roster,
maybe with the exception of Corey Seager,
isn't practicing their bunts.
We need everything,
every little bit of help we can get.
Angels trying to bunt right here,
get the runner over to third base.
Smart move on their part.
You got to run.
You kind of got a free run here.
I mean, you earned it.
Don't get it twisted.
You earned it,
but you're kind of playing with some house
money here.
Texas dropping this game,
just embarrassing.
I mean,
there's no way to get around it.
It will be nice if they go on
to win the series.
I think we could forgive them.
But, man,
dropping these games to one of the worst
teams in baseball,
I'm not even trying to be disrespectful.
It's just the facts are the facts.
Record-wise,
they're one of the worst teams in
baseball.
JN, I mean, you're not wrong.
You're not wrong.
But JN, I mean,
think about it this way, my guy.
If Burger gets him over there,
you might end up with a score on
a wild pitch, right?
I mean,
if we're going to use that logic, Jay,
and don't we have to go that direction?
The comment was,
I agree with Burger bunting.
Duran still got to third base with one
out.
It's on Lopez and Evan Carter.
I probably would push back just a little
bit.
If Burger gets Duran to third base,
then hypothetically,
we want to go butterfly effect here.
I mean,
Duran scoring on that wild pitch in the
Lopez AB.
I mean,
that to me is definitely not something to
brush off.
Not something to brush off there.
Here's the pitch.
One out, by the way.
Angels up one nothing if you're just
joining us top of the tenth.
Heinemann the catcher up batting one
eighty four with the four seventy OPS on
the year.
What could go wrong?
What could go wrong?
We get a called strike here.
Ninety mile an hour cutter.
Middle end.
Two and one is the count to Heinemann.
Tyler Alexander.
I mean, by and large,
for what the Rangers signed him for,
having a good season.
I think you're getting good value out of
him.
Three twenty seven ERA.
You can just hold them at one.
This it would be really huge.
Just hold them at one right now.
Man, Alexander is catching a lot of plate.
Glad we gotten out out of that.
Heinemann going to be retired here.
Man,
Tyler Alexander is throwing a lot over the
heart of the plate.
Fly ball to Nimmo.
Two outs here.
Guzman advances to third base.
Phew.
Right down the pipe that one was.
Heinemann just missed it.
Just straight up missed it.
We'll see what ends up happening.
We're going to have Peraza up to bat
now.
A little mound visit.
Rangers in this one,
in the bottom of the tenth inning,
they are going to have really the heart
of the order coming up.
You're going to have Top,
you'll have Seager,
you'll have some guys up that can get
the job done, no doubt.
You're just hoping they can find a way
to come through here.
Peraza.
So far on the night, he is over.
Looking for a hit here.
He does have a walk.
Swing and strike.
Change up.
Down low.
Love that pitch from Tyler Alexander.
Good stuff there for sure.
Guillermo, what's good, man?
Sick of the offensive performances,
my friend.
Sick of it.
Couldn't have said it better.
It is disgusting.
Sad.
Rangers, I mean, look,
let's not melt down here.
They have a shot.
They've got some good hitters coming up in
the bottom half.
You'd love to keep it at one-oh, though.
You just cannot let them go up two
to nothing here.
I'm not saying the Rangers are pros at
manufacturing runs,
but you feel like you've at least got
a chance with a one-run deficit to tie
it up.
Sure,
it'd be great to get a Seager blast
and walk it off, but...
Two-nothing feels tough.
It just feels tough.
It's one-nothing.
Jose, one-nothing Angels.
Angels are batting with two out in the
top of the tenth.
Another swinging strike,
and it is going to be a two-two
count here.
Rangers one strike away from getting out
of trouble here in the top half.
Tyler Alexander working, trying to escape.
Pitch number five of the AB incoming.
And that is gonna be ball three up
high.
We're gonna get a batter timeout here from
Peraza to follow.
Nervy times here at Global High Field as
the Rangers try and come back against the
Angels.
Right now,
trying to stop them from doubling up the
score here.
Why has Foscue been in high leverage at
bats?
Because you're batting them leadoff.
I mean, you're batting him leadoff, right?
I mean, you're putting him up there.
And the bottom of the order is actually
coming through tonight,
getting on base a little bit.
So it is what it is.
Didn't really love the Foscue leadoff,
if I'm being completely honest.
Probably would have rather gone Ezekiel
Duran leadoff.
Danny Jansen leaning into the net there.
That just got out of play.
We'll do it again.
Pitch number seven.
Peraza making Todd the painter work here.
Alexander sets.
Fires.
Swing and a miss.
Change up.
Pulled the string on him.
Rangers headed to the bottom of the tenth
inning.
And they have a shot.
You're down one.
You got your best hitters coming up.
Foscue, Seager, Langford.
Don't love Foscue in the righty-righty.
You have no choice.
You got to go with it at this
point.
But, man,
I do not love Justin Foscue in this
righty-righty.
Talking about bunting,
I think you ought to consider it here.
Maybe you can get Foscue in the cages
down below.
Have him take some bunts right now.
I don't think I'm letting Foscue swing
away here.
I am getting over to third,
and I'm letting Corey Seager hit a fly
ball,
hopefully over the fence and into the
stands, into the seats,
but at least a sack fly to score
the game-tying run.
If Skip doesn't bunt Foscue here,
criminal.
Deserves to get totally grilled.
There's no reason to bat Foscue and let
him hit righty-righty here.
Zero reason.
It's indefensible.
Media should be ripping him up and down
if he does not bunt here.
You should have bunted with Burger,
but you didn't because Burger can't bunt,
I guess.
It's the only logical reason I can think
of.
You've got to bunt here.
I don't even care.
If Foscue could rip one up the middle
and we tie the game,
I don't even care.
It's still not the right move.
It's not.
I've gone over this so many times.
It's not always about the outcome.
Sometimes you get fortunate with the
outcome.
The right move here with Evan Carter at
second base is to bunt.
Evan Carter's scoring for, I mean,
even a medium hit fly ball,
Evan Carter's going to score from third
base.
You got to get Evan to third.
I know I said I don't melt down
on the show.
You might see one if we do not
bunt Justin Foscue.
You might.
You really might.
My goodness.
All right, here we go.
Joyce on the mound.
Flamethrower that he is, man.
Pumping.
And he can get it up to one
oh four if he wants.
Bottom of the tenth inning.
Here we go.
Rangers down one nothing.
He is bunting.
He is going to pull it back here.
Skip, thank you.
He should have done this last inning.
Should have done this last inning.
Let's go.
Make the third baseman field this one.
That's what you're trying to do.
Make the third baseman field this one if
you can.
Foscue,
a very buntable pitch on strike two.
He's going to let it go.
Must not have felt comfortable, man.
That was almost perfect placement right
there low.
One-on-one count.
Foscue swinging away.
He lifts one to right field.
He's going to get the job done here.
Oh, my goodness.
I don't know about that,
but we got it done.
Nevin Carter.
That was surprisingly close.
Who's the right fielder?
Lowe.
Nate's brother, Josh, with the cannon,
man.
That was quite the throw.
I didn't think it was going to be
even close at third base.
That was an impressive throw from Josh.
Wow.
Credit to Foscue to get the runner over.
That's not what I would have done.
I would have been bunting all the way
there.
Foscue gets it done.
Corey Seager, strike one.
Looked like he just got a piece.
Big spot for Corey.
Big spot.
Got to put the ball in play.
Oh, and one infield drawn in.
And Corey's going to go down.
Oh, two, man.
Wow.
He's getting some pitches to hit too,
isn't he?
Look at where these pitches are at.
These are in the wheelhouse.
Come on, Cor.
Let's go, babe.
Pitch number three.
Ball in on the hands.
And Corey stays alive.
Pitch four.
Oh, Corey.
Dude.
You got nothing but fastballs there.
Oh, baby.
How?
You got nothing but fastballs there.
Nothing but fastballs.
No shock.
No surprise.
Just hit me.
It wasn't even close on that last one.
Did y'all see that?
He wasn't even close.
That's brutal.
That is brutal.
You don't even put the ball in play.
Didn't even foul one off.
I mean,
I guess he foul tipped the first one.
Brutal, man.
Langford, final hope here.
And he is quickly going to be in
an O-two hole.
He takes called strike.
That's right there.
I don't know what you're waiting for,
babe.
Don't know what you're waiting for.
Now you're going to put yourself in a
bad hole here, O-two.
Joyce is tough.
There's no way around it.
He's tough.
Here we go.
Pitch three incoming.
Wyatt down O-two.
Let's go, Wyatt.
Run into one, please.
Just one time.
I believe.
I believe.
I'm not giving up.
I know some of y'all are.
I'm not giving up.
Not doing it.
Here's the pitch.
Swing.
And it gets over the first baseman's head.
Little Texas leaguer, Wyatt Langford,
comes through.
Oh, you need a little luck sometimes.
He just gets it done.
Right over first base.
Little flare by Langford.
Oh, thank you.
Thank you.
I told you I believed.
I told you.
Oh, my goodness.
Thank you.
You need a little luck sometimes.
You just do.
You need a little luck.
I can't say that Wyatt smoked that one.
You get fortunate sometimes in this game.
A little flair over first base.
We'll take it.
We will take it.
Look,
I don't throw that stuff out there very
much.
I don't sit here and make predictions a
lot.
I'm not always right,
but I happen to be spot on there.
I just had a feeling something was going
to happen there.
I'm glad to be right.
There's not much of a science to it.
Thank you, Wyatt.
Oh, thank you.
Please do something here.
Zeke Duran, please.
Zeke, hits one to third.
And we have a bad throw.
Rangers are going to come home.
They walk it off.
Oh, Guzman sends it into right field.
He tries to turn two.
And the Rangers win two-one in the bottom
of the tenth inning.
It's a miracle.
It's a Christmas miracle.
Christmas in August, baby.
Oh, wow.
Wow.
The Rangers take first game.
They steal the first game in this series.
Man, you needed that.
Oh, you needed this one.
Are they giving Zeke a hit on that?
They're giving Zeke Duran a hit on that.
He's four for five tonight.
Zeke Duran,
my offensive player of the game.
Four for five.
Zeke, are you kidding me?
Are you kidding me right now, Zeke Duran?
Wow.
Wow.
Oh, I am so hyped right now.
Oh, my goodness.
Rangers Nation, we're here.
How?
How?
Oh.
Yes, sir.
Rangers win.
The solution is a beast.
I couldn't agree more.
Go to comment from TikTok there.
The solution.
He gets game one for Texas.
I can't even believe,
I am still in shock.
I cannot even believe what I just
witnessed.
That ball was smoked by Duran.
Should have been an out.
I mean, it should have been an out.
Zeke does run well.
I know I said he was trying to
turn two.
There were two outs.
There were two outs.
You could have gone one.
You could have gone to first.
I mean, seriously,
you could have gone one.
I know Zeke runs well,
but that ball was hit so hard.
Love watching these replays.
I said it after the Langford hit.
Some nights you need a little fortune.
You need a little good luck and fortune.
One of my favorite coaches of all time.
You define luck.
Labor using correct knowledge.
You put the ball in play.
Beautiful things can happen.
Wyatt Langford puts the bat to ball.
You find a way to get it in
play.
And this is what you get.
This is the consequence.
And man, what a great consequence it was.
The Rangers taking game one of this three
game set with the angels.
They are going to improve to let's see.
What is it on the year now for
them?
Closer to five hundred.
We won game back from five hundred now
at this point.
Let's go.
Can't even believe what just happened.
I mean, look,
I don't know if he thought that there
were just one out.
I think he was trying to just get
the out at second.
I mean, maybe he'll,
maybe it'll come out that he brain cramped
there, but I mean,
it's not the worst decision in the world,
but he had time.
I mean, Zeke is fast,
but that ball was smoked.
What was that off the bat?
one-on-one off the bat from zeke that ball
was smoked i mean you could have gone
one you really could have
Wow.
Zeke getting the Gatorade bath.
Look, in all honesty,
I stick by what I said in the
top of the tent.
Like,
this is a game the Rangers really didn't
deserve to win based on their play.
But sometimes you don't deserve to win.
The good teams,
and I'm not proclaiming the Rangers to be
an above average great team.
I'm not.
I love this win.
Don't get me wrong.
I wouldn't call this team great.
I wouldn't call this team above average.
But you know what?
Sometimes you have to figure out a way
to win ugly.
You do.
And that's what happened tonight.
You won ugly.
You had a terrible night at the plate.
You really didn't earn it in this bottom
of the tenth inning, if we're being real.
You had a little Texas League dump over
the first baseman's head for Wyatt
Langford.
You have a pretty well-hit ball by Zeke
Duran that just ends up getting sailed
into right field on a bad throw by
Guzman.
I'm glad they gave Zeke Duran his fourth
hit of the ball game, man.
How about Zeke Duran?
I think that's his second four-hit game
this month.
That is Zeke Duran's second four-hit game
this month.
The solution.
He was four hits on August third.
He had three hits the next night.
Second fourth hit game in less than three
weeks.
I mean, look,
I think that should be Fielder's choice in
an error.
I really do.
Look, the official score,
giving Zeke a hit there.
Thank you.
To me,
that's like Fielder's choice in an error.
Probably shouldn't be fourth hit.
Minnesota, Lord Tubbington, what's good?
Good to see you.
Minnesota's down four right now in the
late innings.
Going to have a game lead on the
third wild card spot.
It doesn't feel real.
I'm not even going to lie to you
guys.
It just doesn't feel real.
This team keeps on doing this.
They keep on losing badly,
winning epically,
or whatever adverb you want to throw in
there.
I mean, seriously.
How do you describe the win that you
just witnessed?
Just total chaos.
Real estate agent,
thank you so much for the heart, man.
Appreciate that.
Not needed.
Much appreciated, though, brother.
kill what a finish indeed what a finish
indeed down to the last strike kachow
thank you for the reminder down to your
last strike Wyatt Langford with the flare
into right field to drive home Evan Carter
and give the Rangers life oh
This offense,
we got to figure out this offense, man.
Let's enjoy this win, but, man,
this offense has got to figure it out.
We can't keep doing this zero-zero BS with
the Angels.
Green Arrow, no offense.
I appreciate you hanging out.
We cannot be doing zero-zero ballgames
with the Angels.
Big John, what's good?
My guy, comment from TikTok here.
Great game.
Win just topped it off.
Look, I did say it.
If you love pitcher's duels,
I guess you're in heaven right now.
You're in heaven this entire season.
I feel like every night is a pitcher's
duel with this team.
Every night.
Two, one, three, zero, two, zero.
It's a pitcher's duel every dang night in
Arlington.
Whatever.
Just win, baby.
Just win.
Apple TV.
I feel like, I don't know,
this doesn't feel like the first win on
Apple TV,
but the national games have never been
super kind to Texas this year.
Glad we got a win on the national
TV.
Well, if you want to call it that.
I know not everyone has Apple TV.
I mean, just, what an insane finish.
I know I keep repeating myself.
I know I'm a broken record.
But I hope you're right there with me.
Like,
I can't even believe what just happened.
Literally thought we were losing
one-nothing there.
I mean, Joyce is just mowing down.
Absolutely mowing down the Rangers in the
bottom of the tenth.
We didn't even get to pitcher of the
game.
I mean, look,
pitcher of the game is MacKenzie Gore.
McJay, what's good, brother?
Always good to see you.
Comment from YouTube here,
Gore shoved tonight.
Yes, he did.
He did.
Gore was outstanding.
I posted about Gore,
I think it was in the fifth or
sixth inning, and I just said,
it's just such a shame that this offense
wastes these gems.
And, you know, win or lose,
like the margin for error that these
pitchers have is way too thin.
It shouldn't be this thin.
I know technically they don't waste the
gem from Gore,
I mean,
it's too bad Gore doesn't get a win.
Again,
this is a perfect reason why you're
talking about the pitcher win debate with
Jacob DeGrom.
Like, Gore was incredible tonight,
but his offense is absolutely terrible,
so he doesn't get a win.
Just like Jacob DeGrom.
I mean, dude was amazing in New York,
just never had run support.
We going to hold that against him?
It's bad tonight from the offense,
but they find a way.
Zeke Duran was not bad, though.
Four hits from him.
Lord Tubbington's giving the player of the
game,
the pitcher of the game to Cole Winn.
Look, Cole had a nice little night,
didn't he?
It's about time he gave us a clean
inning.
It is about time we didn't have to
use the barf bag and the seatbelt when
Cole Winn was in the game.
And I love Cole Winn.
I love Cole Winn.
I think he's a good dude.
But yeah, Cole, two strikeouts.
One of his lowest drama outings.
Lowest drama outings of the season.
Let's go.
Appreciate all the follows.
Thank you so much.
A bunch of y'all have followed on TikTok,
man.
If you haven't followed quite yet,
let's go.
We do this pretty much every night.
I know I mentioned to you guys,
I'm going to be off the next couple
of days, family vacay.
Hopefully the series continues on well
without me.
I'll be back Monday night, but man,
it is going to be a fun,
hopefully a really fun end to the year
here.
We got a lot of baseball left still
this year.
Hopefully some October baseball ahead of
us.
If you lose this game,
I'm trying to take the opposite.
If you lose this game, like I said,
during the actual game, during the live,
during the nine innings,
it's just like you probably get over it.
They win Saturday, Sunday, whatever,
but you lose another series to the Angels.
just is so deflating.
And so look,
we got two more games to play.
I'm not taking them for granted.
I sure hope the Rangers aren't.
But like we've kind of been saying all
along,
this team is just different at home.
And they won two out of three against
the Nationals.
They're so far three and one on the
homestand.
Like this is just a little bit of
a different team.
They've got a little bit of a different
swagger at home.
I definitely feel more confident when
they're playing in this ballpark.
I really do feel a lot more confident
with this club when they're playing in
Globe Life.
And I know Globe Life is and look,
it's the second worst pitchers park.
It is bad.
T-Mobile.
It goes T-Mobile in Seattle and then it
goes Globe Life.
Worst parks to hit in.
And this is advanced stats,
not just me talking,
not just Austin's opinion here.
I mean, stat cast measured,
Globe Life and T-Mobile are the two worst
hitters parks in baseball.
And for some reason,
this team loves playing here, man.
They are now seven games over .五百 playing
at Globe Life.
Whew.
Whew.
I am so pumped we got the win
tonight.
Glad that we could do that one together.
I love it when that happens.
We sometimes get treated to something
special here during the show while we are
live.
And sure enough, trust me,
we've seen it go the other way.
But man,
it is fun when that is just totally
live.
You guys are here reacting with nothing
better.
Nothing better.
Darnell, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
It's actually my little girl's birthday,
so I'm excited.
We're going to head out of town,
have some fun, celebrating.
We're really excited.
But, man, I hate to leave y'all.
Hate to leave y'all in the middle of
a good series,
but we will have a couple of good
days off.
We'll come back Monday for the White Sox
game ready to go.
Look, I told you guys,
I know I say this almost every show.
I'm just taking the games as they come
at this point.
I'm not trying to get too deep.
What does this win mean?
What is the meaning?
What is this win going to do for
the clubhouse?
It's like your guess is as good as
mine.
Your guess is as good as mine.
This team does not make any sense.
They have a big emotional win like this,
and who would be shocked if they came
out tomorrow and took a dump?
Nobody.
Nobody would be shocked.
Hey,
appreciate you guys wishing happy birthday
to my little girl.
Thanks so much.
Yep, we're super excited.
It's going to be a fun couple of
days.
Yeah, man, I'll miss you hanging out,
miss you guys,
but we'll be back ready to go on
Monday night.
I am just hoping we can get two
more here.
I'll still be posting.
I think I'll still do some live posting
during the game.
Just won't be doing the show.
So you'll still be seeing stuff coming out
of the account,
but just won't be doing our typical live
shows.
That's all.
We keep rolling.
Wyatt and Duran,
they did say we're winning this game.
And Wyatt had had such a poor game.
He is in a bad stretch.
Look, talking about the deeper meaning.
Hopefully this jump starts him.
And Wyatt has been cold as ice.
We need Wyatt to get it going.
And you hope that that can be a
stepping stone for that guy.
I'm done with the team.
And what does this win mean for the
team?
They're just too unpredictable.
But we'll play the game when it comes
to the hitters and to the offense.
I sure hope that's a springboard for Wyatt
Langford.
We need that bat.
It's clear the Rangers are going to keep
on hitting him right up at the top.
I'm not advocating for them to move him
down.
I already played that card once this year,
and then he immediately just went on a
tear.
Maybe I need to unlock the right on
Rangers reverse jinx and just set it free
and see what happens.
But I think Wyatt Langford is going to
be up at the top of the order.
They've got to get production out of him.
They have to get production out of him.
I just really,
really hope that he turns it on this
last forty days.
You got basically forty days here till the
end of the season.
And if Wyatt Langford,
like Corey Seager is right now,
gets on a little heater,
this offense just looks so much better.
So much better.
All right,
let's talk through some of the main points
here.
We are already over the hour mark.
That's what happens when you go to extra
innings.
We are over the hour mark,
but we are going to roll through as
much as we can.
I mean, look, let's take it back here.
Rangers, eleven hits.
I mean, no runs for a while there.
He had, I think,
eight or nine hits going to extra innings.
He had opportunities.
Rangers just have to figure out a way
to do things with runners on base.
I think that's a big takeaway here
tonight.
Gore did his part again tonight.
We already talked about Gore a little bit
and what he was able to do.
Three base runners tonight for Mackenzie
Gore.
Very, very impressive.
Look, over his last seven games, .
Pretty serviceable here.
You'll take that.
Gore definitely needs to be that dude with
the injuries to Evaldi.
Leiter is looking to come back here pretty
soon.
DeGrom has looked good.
But look,
you're kind of start to start with DeGrom,
aren't you?
You just don't know if he is going
to be durable over the next two months
or not.
You're hoping so,
but nothing is going to surprise you.
Look, Cody Freeman,
pretty nice game from him tonight.
I know he ended up getting thrown out
at home.
That preserved a zero-zero tie.
But look, he had a great defensive game.
You go watch some of the highlights I
posted of Cody tonight.
He dove diving around, making game.
I mean, honestly, game-saving plays.
Run-saving plays for sure.
But with how low-scoring this game was,
game-saving plays.
He had the ball going back,
the fly ball that he catches over the
shoulder.
I really love having Cody Freeman around
this team.
It's just a good feeling.
I'll feel even better when Alejandro Osuna
is back up.
You already know.
Bases loaded failures.
I mean, just continue.
I don't want to harp too much on
negativity,
but it just goes to my bigger point
already.
You're getting opportunities with this
team.
You're getting runners on base.
You're just not coming through.
And so at this point,
I just don't know if this team is
going to be able to sustain late season
success if they cannot come through when
they get these opportunities.
You're playing a really bad team in the
Angels, and you're able to survive it,
right?
But you go up against some of the
best in baseball in the American League
playoffs.
It's going to be really hard overcoming
opportunities, missed opportunities,
where you're leaving the bases loaded.
You're getting gifted.
Runner on second, nobody out,
and you're back-to-back-to-back terrible
at bats.
Rangers got to improve in that department.
Look, Reid Detmers was good.
It's a lot easier to give him his
flowers after a loss for the Angels and
a win for the Rangers,
but
He continues to stymie Texas.
I mean, he is a good pitcher.
I don't think that he is terrible.
I don't think he's mediocre.
I think he's got some good stuff.
I really do.
And he's been a problem for Texas.
I'm glad that they were able to find
a way.
Look, once again, you get past Detmers.
So hypothetically,
the game that you're feeling the worst
about,
you're not going to have to face Ureña.
Ureña threw yesterday or a couple of days
ago.
He is down for this series.
So you've got two guys coming up on
Saturday and Sunday.
Clawson is pretty good.
I mean, Clawson's pretty good.
He's pitching Sunday.
You should be able to win tomorrow.
We're going to go through the pitching
matchup here in just a little bit.
uh Rangers win two to one by the
way if you're just joining us a walk-off
error I guess we're calling it a walk-off
hit technically but I mean a walk-off
error Guzman Angels third baseman airmail
and one into right field Wyatt Langford
comes around to score we'll take a few
more comments along the way
I am definitely hype right now.
It's going to be hard to go to
sleep after this one.
It really is.
Adrenaline is pumping, y'all.
It's like that's why you love this game.
If you don't understand.
If you need a great encapsulation of why
baseball is so great,
you literally were at your lowest of lows
about to watch the Rangers lose
one-nothing with Wyatt Langford down to
his final strike.
And then you have elation as Wyatt reaches
base, scores Evan Carter,
and Zeke Duran manages to walk it off
for Texas.
Uh, MBJ comment from YouTube here.
Team needs more power arms in the
outfield.
Yeah.
I mean, look, they,
they definitely need to improve.
I don't think why a Langford and Evan
Carter are going anywhere.
Brandon Nimmo definitely leaving something
to be desired out there in the field.
I wouldn't say NIMS has been particularly
great.
playing right field,
the arm is not that good.
I don't think you're going to have a
whole lot of wiggle room unless you're
planning on DH-ing Brandon Nimmo a lot,
which maybe they will do.
Maybe they're going to DH Nimmo a lot.
Who knows?
Appreciate the follows, by the way.
Thank you so much.
I know a couple people recently just
followed.
It means a lot.
Thanks for hanging out.
We do this almost every night.
I won't be live the next couple of
nights.
I'll be on vacation,
but we're pretty much here every night.
I mean,
I think I took a little bit more
than ten games off this season.
Definitely over one forty.
We did over one hundred and forty.
I tried to get one hundred and fifty.
I know we're not going to get one
fifty.
There's a couple more games I need to
miss,
but we're doing over one hundred and forty
live shows.
That's pretty dang good.
If I do say so myself, man.
Appreciate you.
Some of you guys have been there for
every single one too.
That's what blows my mind sometimes.
We don't take any of that for granted,
by the way.
Thank you so much for all the ways
you support the show.
Hey, look,
let's go ahead and start looking ahead to
tomorrow a little bit.
Green Arrow, good game for sure.
Appreciate you hanging out as always.
I say it all the time.
I love when we get other perspectives
coming in.
It's fun hearing from the other opposing
side.
And so look, man,
come back as much as you can.
I know I won't be live the next
couple of nights,
but always love when you stop by, brother.
walked off the angels in the tent yeah
i mean look edward it's not it's not
flashy it's not flashy but sometimes you
gotta win ugly sometimes you have to win
ugly and that is what happened tonight uh
do i think guzman should have just uh
held on to the ball instead of throwing
a second there i think guzman dan uh
comment from youtube here i think he
probably should have gone to first base i
i think he had a shot to get
zeke it would have been bang bang but
it was going to be a bang,
bang play at second.
I think maybe second was,
I don't even want to say it was
slightly better.
I'd have to see the wide angle,
but that ball was hit so hard.
Guzman gloved it pretty clean.
If he just gets up and fires to
first,
I bet they get Zeke by a half
step.
Maybe a full step,
but definitely a half step.
I think that they could have gone to
first base there.
I really do.
I don't think you hold on to the
ball.
I think you throw it to first.
I think that just the nature of who
they had running there.
I mean,
you had a few different options you could
have gone to.
I might have just got up and fired
to first base there.
Ka-chow.
We'll see you later, man.
Thank you so much for the kind words.
I appreciate you.
New Rangers were bad with bases used.
A five Oh eight OPS.
Hey, Sugi, where did you find that stat?
Is that,
is that like just team stats somewhere?
That is wild.
Five Oh eight.
I knew it was under six hundred.
I didn't know we were approaching sub five
hundred status.
OPS.
The Rangers team OPS is five Oh eight.
Sugi is telling us.
Brutal.
Absolutely brutal.
All right.
Hey, tomorrow.
By the way, yeah,
Minnesota is losing right now by,
it looks like, four.
Six to two to the Padres.
Okay, then.
Okay, then.
Man,
I got to close out some tabs right
now.
Hopefully,
my computer doesn't have a meltdown out
here.
So many tabs.
My goodness.
Tomorrow, though, we have a six.
Oh, five.
Start time.
We have Johnson on the mound for the
Angels, six, forty one ERA.
What could go wrong?
And Bradford on the mound for Texas,
two ninety three ERA.
He has been pretty sharp, I would say,
since returning from injury.
You go to the preview,
you check out the numbers each pitcher has
against the opposing lineups.
And look,
there's not going to be a lot for
Johnson.
A burger over three Carter over to Duran
over one Langford over to Lopez over to
Nemo one for two.
Joc Pederson, home run.
That's right,
Jock had the leadoff bomb against Johnson.
Seager, one for three.
Nobody else has ABs.
Diaz, Foscue, Freeman, Jansen, Kelenic,
no ABs.
On the other side,
Bradford against the Angels.
Ballesteros, O for three.
Grissom, one for three.
Heinemann and Lowe, both O for one.
Meckler, one for three.
Neto, five for nine against Bradford.
Look out for Zach Neto tomorrow if he's
playing.
Peraza, oh for three.
Shanuel, one for four.
Jose Siri,
one for four with a home run.
Mike Trout, oh for two.
Darno, no at bats.
Same with Guzman and Frazier.
Got to feel pretty good about Bradford on
the mound tomorrow.
I think he gives you a solid chance
to win.
I can't say I feel it's a lock
or anything,
but I like the Rangers' chances tomorrow.
Meckler's still hurt.
Is there anybody else that's hurt?
Why didn't Neto?
Did Neto not play tonight?
Why didn't he play tonight?
Is he hurt too?
Look, I'd love to sit here.
Neto did play.
All right.
I felt like we didn't see him much
today.
He was one for four with two strikeouts.
I remember the hit now.
It's coming back to me.
It's been a long day at the office,
y'all.
You got to forgive me.
You got to forgive me on that one.
Look, tomorrow,
be interesting to see what the Rangers go
with for a lineup.
I'm particularly curious about Jake
Burger.
Are they going to platoon him?
You're going to see Joc Pederson play a
little first base tomorrow,
give Burger a day off.
I'd like to see the Rangers go to
that format more and more often.
I don't think Burger is a great hitter
right now against righties.
Has he ever come through?
Yeah, sure,
he's come through at different points,
but I would probably tend to want to
bench Burger against Wrighties and see
what else we got.
We'll see how the Rangers decide to play
that one.
But we got some players heating up.
Corey Seager heating up a little bit.
Hopefully Wyatt Lankford heating up a
little bit.
We know Zeke Duran's red hot.
Holly makes a good point from TikTok.
Osuna is getting work at first base.
Osuna had three hits the other night in
Round Rock.
Did you guys see that?
Three hits in Round Rock.
Hey,
surely we have no use for a guy
like that at the major league level.
Am I right?
Surely we have no use for a guy
like Alejandro Osuna getting three hits in
Round Rock at the major league level.
Logan O'Hoppe hitting a home run.
I think I saw he hit a home
run tonight.
O'Hoppe, I'm pretty sure,
came through with a big fly for Round
Rock tonight.
I'm going to check the Round Rock score
right now.
We'll see if I can get an update
for you guys.
Round Rock tonight looks like they were...
Where are we at here?
Come on.
Fifteen to seven.
My goodness.
Round Rock scored fifteen runs tonight.
Whoa.
Let's check this box score out.
Alejandro Osuna, walk, run scored,
but went hitless.
Cam Cauley, two for five.
O'Hoppe, two for five with four RBI.
O'Hoppe had a double and a home run.
And by the way,
I think tomorrow or Sunday,
he officially is down long enough where
the Rangers gain that extra year of
control.
So you could see a Logan Ohopi call
up sooner rather than later.
You could see one.
Ohopi is now three Oh seven with a
nine seventy six OPS in the minor leagues.
Ohopi has been red hot of late.
I posted, dude's raking,
and a bunch of people were pushing back
on me.
O'Hoppe, I mean, look,
he has definitely been playing well down
there.
He had a couple of big games this
week.
He has another one tonight.
It's good stuff.
Good stuff.
All right, y'all.
I got to head on out.
I will see you guys on Monday night,
White Sox series.
We'll have some posts out to you guys,
some videos out to you guys in between.
I'll be posting during the game.
So, hey,
if you still want to keep up with
my reactions and my thoughts,
definitely follow me over on X or Threads
or Facebook, one of those sites.
Whichever one you prefer,
would love to have your follow over on
that spot.
Just, again,
more live commentary throughout the games.
This is where the live streams,
the post-game stuff lives a little bit
more, but over on Xthreads, Facebook.
just about anything,
just about every social we're on.
But follow one of those if you want
to keep up with us in-game.
But, look, appreciate you guys.
Hope you have a great rest of your
Friday night.
Have a great weekend ahead.
We will see you on Monday.
Hope the Rangers can get a series win
tomorrow, maybe a sweep.
We'll see what happens.
I'm not trying to get too greedy, but,
man, that would be nice.
That would be so nice.
All right, y'all.
Have a good one.
And as I always say to end every
show, God bless and go Rangers.
