But Texas offense, one hundred percent.
I think you have to be disappointed with
the effort tonight.
Reid Detmers, good but not great.
a guy that the Rangers have beat up
on before.
Last time Reid Detmers came to Arlington,
Rangers kind of had their way with him.
In L.A., he's been very,
very good against this Texas offense.
But you thought maybe at home,
Rangers might break through.
Hasn't been the case tonight.
But, again,
have to laud the performance of Gore.
Give him his flowers.
He pitched beautifully tonight.
Team really did need a performance like
this from him.
And with the way the offense is playing,
they absolutely needed a performance like
this from him.
Three base runners, man.
Two hits, one walk.
Gore throws six frames.
And, you know, look,
at the end of the day,
ended up throwing a hundred pitches.
Wyatt Langford looks like is going to
retain his spot at first.
Actually, no, they give the out call here,

That was close.
They were leaving him on first base.
Had me confused for a second.
I don't have audio right now.

But look, Wyatt Langford,
we know he can turn it on at
any moment, but he has been bad lately.
We talked about that last night on the
show.
Tough guy to have hitting three hole right
now.

we know he can erupt at any moment,
but man,
he is at this point eight for his
last forty eight.
Not a awesome guy that you want to
have hitting three spot.
Not saying he's bad, not saying he sucks,
not saying he needs to be benched.
But it is painful when you're in this
kind of slump and just happens to be
hitting in a prime RBI spot.

And we are going to need a big

It's not going to take much.
Maybe we'll get to see my favorite rule,
the ghost runner rule,
in effect later on in this ballgame.

Zeke's been doing all he can over the
last two games to get this team across

He's been making some great plays out in
the field, putting the ball in play.
Had a big triple last night that gave
the Rangers a big insurance run.
Cody Freeman having a great game as well,
isn't he?

I hope that he can continue to ball
out out there.
I'm not saying that Cody fixes all our
problems,
but I've said a number of different times
when he is up with the big league
club and when he's in the lineup,
it just has a little bit of a
different feel to it.

but I mean,
you can't complain about that with some of
the other numbers that you're looking at,
one through nine for the Texas Rangers at
this point in the season.

I'm not the biggest fan of it,

little biased towards Cody Freeman,
but you would have loved to have maybe
done that with Foscue.

Foscue's driven the ball decent a couple
of times tonight, but...
I don't love Cody not being in the
ballgame.
The glove is good.
I know Nicky Lopez plays a pretty good
second base,
but we'll see how that factors in.

hopefully he can be in a spot where
he can just put the ball in play,
have a quality A-B.

You guys know how I feel about this.
I think the home team has a massive
disadvantage here.
I've explained this many times.
I'll give the short version.
It's just like you have a very,
I think,
strong psychological effect when you go
down in extra innings.
It doesn't matter.
You can tell yourself all day long, yeah,
we get the same opportunity.
When you go down,
it automatically creates pressure.
Automatically.
When you're tied,
it's zero-zero in this case,
but when you're tied going into extra
innings,
and you're the first team up,
you don't quite have that pressure.
You don't know what you don't know.
You're not down.
You feel no need to really press,
even though it is important you score.
I just continue to not be a fan
of this rule.
You know what I'd like to see them
do in the next CBA?
Ditch the ghost runner rule.
Just go back to regular baseball, please.

You're not necessarily needing him to get

And this is Burger's sweet spot.
He is, he's a lefty crusher,
much like Justin Foscue has been known for
being this year.

When you're over three against a lefty and

righties, not the most ideal.
It can all change quickly, though,
with a positive AB here.

right there is why I always tell people,
don't trust errors.

The fact that this team,
with how bad the offense has been,
if you're that little confident in Burger

has been so good.

against the worst team in baseball.

doing this.

And sometimes it's two out of three games,

got to pick it up you're going to
get josh young back maybe that that's
going to help a little bit we've talked
about jj coming back and making things a
little more interesting offensively i do
think that will happen but man he can't
do it all all right by the way
jose siri starting out at second base got
a little speed out there
And with our outfield arms,
I'm not feeling very good about a base
hit not scoring a runner.
That ball would have to be smoked.
Absolutely smoked right at somebody for us
to have a chance at a throwout.

opportunities, missed opportunities,

planning on DH-ing Brandon Nimmo a lot,
which maybe they will do.
