What is That's What They Said?

Join hosts Julia and Kieran as they address the myths and stereotypes surrounding the campus community.

“That’s What They Said” is a space where we pull back the curtain on the college experience — the myths, the stereotypes and the late-night thoughts nobody puts in the brochure.

No topic is off-limits! We’re talking about everything — from expectations vs. reality, to campus culture, academics, friendships and the messy in-betweens. If it’s part of student life, we’re navigating it together.

"That's What They Said" is a podcast produced by WKNC 88.1 FM HD-1/HD-2 at NC State University.

Julia
Welcome back to That's What They Said, an educationally conversational podcast where we address all the things that aren't in the college brochure.

00:12
Kieran
2026. I actually don't remember what episode this is.

00:17
Julia
Well, it.

00:18
Kieran
Oh, it's episode 10.

00:19
Julia
Yes, it's episode 10.

00:20
Kieran
Episode 10. We've officially done 10 weeks of the pod.

00:23
Julia
Let's go.

00:30
Kieran
Yeah, we turn off the bot here. All right, guys, we did it.

00:32
Julia
Great talking to you.

00:34
Kieran
We actually, fun fact. Recorded an episode before. Well, like, the last week of school before break. It never went up.

00:40
Julia
Yeah, sorry about that. Final exams got to me, y'all.

00:42
Kieran
Whoopsie Daisy.

00:43
Julia
Did not have time to be doing all that.

00:45
Kieran
But we're so back. New year, same us.

00:46
Julia
New year, new year, same us.

00:48
Kieran
But rebrand, rebrand.

00:50
Julia
I will be working on the album cover. And by that, I mean all our podcast graphic asap.

00:55
Kieran
Yeah, y' all aren't ready. There's so many things coming this semester. We have. Wait, I wrote it down. We have. Boom. Video podcast equipment up and running potentially as soon as next week. Boom. Rebrand coming. Boom. We're gonna do some photo shoots to.

01:08
Julia
Get some actually good pictures.

01:09
Kieran
Some actually good pictures of us in the same photo so we don't have to edit arms into them and rebrand our podcast album and also then have more stuff to post. Boom. We have an increased social media presence on the rise. As soon as we get the video podcast stuff up, we're gonna have compilations, teasers, funny clips, interviews. Y' all aren't even ready.

01:28
Julia
Yeah.

01:28
Kieran
Boom. More guest speakers lined up. Get ready for a monthly guest speaker.

01:32
Julia
Oh, t. Yeah, I forgot about that. Yes.

01:34
Kieran
Monthly guest speaker. We totally know who's gonna come on for January. That's my most recent, like, vocal stem.

01:43
Julia
I like that.

01:46
Kieran
But yes. Boom. So many things for the upcoming bit of the pod. Who's excited?

01:50
Julia
Boom. Five big booms. Boom.

01:52
Kieran
Boom.

01:52
Julia
Boom.

01:53
Kieran
Boom. Boom.

01:55
Julia
Oh, Lordy. Well, we have. We do have a disclaimer on here that says we have not had to be functioning humans of society or work for the past month. So don't have high expectations for this episode. We're just here to make you laugh, y'.

02:07
Kieran
All.

02:07
Julia
That is really what today's episode is. It works for me because I listen to these episodes over and over, and I laugh all the time.

02:14
Kieran
Hilarious.

02:14
Julia
No, because I am and you are. We are the funniest people on this planet.

02:18
Kieran
And that's what they said.

02:19
Julia
And. No. And that's what I always say, though. I always Say that. No, but I live by that. I live by that. Okay, so we're gonna start off with our highlight. Buffalo. Kieran, would you like to get us started?

02:30
Kieran
I would love to.

02:31
Julia
Oh, my God.

02:32
Kieran
My low. Gotta start low. Work my way up.

02:34
Julia
I like.

02:34
Kieran
School starts next week. Alarm.

02:39
Julia
Sound the alarms.

02:40
Kieran
Like, that is me. I am not ready. I don't want to go. I don't want to do it. Like. No.

02:48
Julia
But we're taking classes together this semester. This is true.

02:50
Kieran
We're taking two classes together.

02:51
Julia
Biz law and what is it? Information Systems or English?

02:56
Kieran
No, information systems. Oh, yeah. We're operating.

02:58
Julia
I don't even know what information systems are. Like, what. What do you. Could not tell you what that even means.

03:03
Kieran
It's systems with information.

03:05
Julia
No, and that's actually. That's a really great guess. I don't know how you came up with that, but, like, that's a really good one.

03:10
Kieran
You should. I should talk to someone about that.

03:11
Julia
You should be a professor. Are you teaching the class? Yeah, I am.

03:14
Kieran
Oh, my God, I can't wait.

03:15
Julia
Or you're gonna get an A.

03:17
Kieran
No. So, yeah, we're taking two classes and we're both taking less classes, but I am going to be working.

03:24
Julia
I'm not taking less classes. You're.

03:25
Kieran
Oh, I'm taking less classes, but I'm working more. So not excited about that.

03:33
Julia
I don't want to go. I don't want to go.

03:34
Kieran
Right, right. It's fine. It's whatever. My buffalo. Is that okay? This is a really long sentence, but I'm just going to do the whole run on sentence and I'll explain. There was a span of 48 hours that I was isolated with no responsibilities. And when I saw people for the first time after the isolation, I couldn't figure out how to socialize. Basically, meaning, like, picture this. I had no responsibilities, nowhere to be, and no one to see for 48 hours in my apartment by myself.

03:54
Julia
That would take me out.

03:55
Kieran
You would think that, like, I would be on cloud nine, like, running around the apartment, like, cooking and, like, throwing things and I don't know, like, every single stereotype ever. But, like, from, like, the movies. But, like, I was literally sitting there, walking back and forth. I was like, I have nothing to do. I've not. Like, I was like, I've watched four seasons of Sex in the City. Like, I was like, oh, my gosh.

04:12
Julia
Right?

04:12
Kieran
I've, like, cleaned my room four times. I've, like, vacuum under the couches. Like, I even moved the couches because I had the time to spare. Like, it was low key bad. And then I saw someone for the first time, like, 48 hours after that. And I, like, couldn't figure out. I was like, hey, like, how are you? And they're like, are you okay? And I was like, yeah, I just haven't seen anyone in 48 hours.

04:32
Julia
Don't you know. Don't you know the mole people that, like, live in the tunnels? That is. That is what I feel like if I don't, like, social, like, I'm an introvert, but if I don't socialize at least every 24 hours, then I, like, something happens and I, like, my brain forgets how to do anything.

04:45
Kieran
Have you ever seen G-Force? No.

04:47
Julia
We've had this conversation on this podcast. Oh, isn't it like a guinea pig or something?

04:52
Kieran
Yeah, there's guinea pigs spies.

04:53
Julia
Yeah, yeah.

04:54
Kieran
But every time I think of a mole, I think of the mole from that movie because he's so, like, his, like, little nose. No, not nasty.

05:01
Julia
No, I like moles.

05:03
Kieran
No, the mole from G-Force is so scary.

05:05
Julia
I like moles, dear. Do yourHigh.

05:08
Kieran
Oh, yes.

05:08
Julia
Hold on. I have to cough.

05:11
Kieran
Coughing.

05:12
Julia
Me, me, me.

05:14
Kieran
My highs. And I got a car.

05:16
Julia
Santa was good to you this year.

05:18
Kieran
Santa was good this year. Santa came down my chimney and saying.

05:21
Julia
He did what?

05:23
Kieran
Pause. Anyway, and that's what I always say. He brought me a car and I was freaking out. I did not realize that this was happening on Christmas. I knew I was gonna be in presence of a car.

05:38
Julia
In presents.

05:38
Kieran
In presents. And I present. No, I was gonna become within the presence of a car sooner rather than later. But I had no idea that it was gonna be on Christmas.

05:48
Julia
Right.

05:48
Kieran
And that Santa himself was gonna be like, here you go. Here you go. So that one got me really good. But I'm so excited. This is my first car ever. I'm literally beyond life itself. However, what is also funny, though, is my parents said, here's the car, but here's the car payments. And I was like, yeah, that is so.

06:07
Julia
Wow.

06:07
Kieran
I'm excited. It's gonna be good.

06:08
Julia
It's gonna be good. Yay. That's so exciting. Yeah, exciting.

06:12
Kieran
It's so exciting.

06:12
Julia
It's so exciting.

06:15
Kieran
Okay, so you're high level.

06:16
Julia
Okay. I'll start with my low as well. Guys, I got broken up with twice in the span of two months. Two different people. And that's just all I can say there, you know? Yeah, that's just all I can say. And I'm like, it's Like. And that's all I can say. Okay. Buffalo. I need to get another tattoo. Okay.

06:35
Kieran
The ink in her skin.

06:36
Julia
I am. It's like, I need it. I need it. Like, I. I already know I want to get some filler fish in between my. All the ones that I already have. Right. And then I. I wrote them down somewhere, but I want to get a squid.

06:50
Kieran
What kind of fish?

06:51
Julia
Just, like, little fishies, you know, just, like, swimming around. Yeah. Who's that in the. In the lobby? I don't know who that is.

06:57
Kieran
A full school of fish.

06:59
Julia
Yes. A school of fish. Am I high? Is that I had the realization that I love my life at school, which we already know that because I talk about it every five seconds, but I love my life and my friends at school, because after being at home for a month and a half, I. Okay. I love my family so much, and I love being home, but I love being home. But I live alone at school, and it is very hard to go home and not be alone for a month and a half.

07:30
Kieran
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's not talked about enough.

07:36
Julia
I. Gosh. I, like, it's, like, hard. It's so hard. I know. It's hard for my parents, too, because they get used to being alone, and. And then I come back and I'm like, hey, guys, I don't have a life, so. Yeah. Oh, my God. Like. Like, the second night I got home, I was sitting down for dinner with my parents because I had nothing else to do because I just got broken up with two days after a home. And my parents were like, hey, like, we understand. And, like, it's hard to be alone right now, like, because all my friends are dating someone, and my parents are like, we've been praying for you to just find your hood. My father was like. I'm, like. He was giving me suggestions of people that I should, like, go talk to. Yeah.

08:14
Kieran
And I remember that.

08:15
Julia
Yeah. He was like, how about, like, every time we pass a man that is, like, within my age range, which my age is large because. Because I am a very mature person.

08:24
Kieran
So you're open for business.

08:25
Julia
I'm open. Well, I would not put it that way in the sense that my business being long term, committed, serious relationship, but.

08:32
Kieran
Yes, but you're versatile.

08:33
Julia
I'm versatile. Well, I'm accepting no less. I'm accepting no less than long term, serious relationship.

08:39
Kieran
I met with people, like, of age groups.

08:41
Julia
Well, of age groups. Yes.

08:42
Kieran
And, like, personalities.

08:43
Julia
Yes. Because I cannot handle. I. Okay, sorry. I'm going off on a Tangent here, but I just.

08:48
Kieran
I need to speak.

08:49
Julia
I need. I need to speak my truth. And I'm really glad that you guys are here with me for this. I do not date people my age because when I have, they have been so immature. And also I am, like, kind of ahead of the curve on, like, life plan of other people my age because I'm almost about to graduate. So, like. And I already know what I'm doing. Like, I know what I'm doing for the next like, five years of my life. So, like, I don't. It just like, is hard to, like, I'm not on the same page with people my age. So I date older than me and. Because, you know, in my mind that means they're going to be mature. But actually that's not true. They're actually going to be immature still. Or then they're like, I just.

09:26
Julia
We're like, in different places and I'm like, okay, I actually don't want to hear that. Yeah. Actually, don't tell me what I am. I know what I am. Once there was a way.

09:39
Kieran
Sorry, that's what.

09:39
Julia
I can't stop doing that. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Anyway, so that is just. Yeah. So my high is that I love being at school and I missed it a lot while I was at home and now I'm going to be back.

09:51
Kieran
Anyway, kind of the same thing. Just because, like, for break, I really wasn't doing much of anything. Like, I didn't really.

09:56
Julia
There's nothing to do.

09:57
Kieran
I didn't travel. There's nothing. Like, a lot of my friends were home or, like, gone or whatever. And like, I, like, I just don't have anything to do. So I was just like, sitting around for like.

10:07
Julia
Yeah.

10:07
Kieran
Days at a time. My parents, like, why don't you just come home? I'm like, because what am I gonna do at home? Sit in a different spot of the house.

10:12
Julia
Right. And like, it's hard to go from, like, we're so busy during the semester. Yeah. Like, like three jobs, six classes, like a social life class, clubs to run. Like, and then you go to winter break and there's absolutely nothing.

10:24
Kieran
Well, it was to the point where I was telling you about this. It was the point I couldn't sleep, right. Because I was going from using my brain to like 100 of my capacity. Like, I was trying to manage so many things at one time to go into absolutely nothing. Like, the first 24 hours was great, but then after that, I, like, couldn't figure out what to do, because I wasn't using my brain enough that I wasn't getting, like, tired enough. So, yes, I would be taking my melatonin, which usually takes, like, 20 to 30 minutes to kick in. It would take almost two hours for me to fall asleep because I was so awake. Like, I was so. I wasn't even, like, energized. I was just like. Like, I hadn't used my brain at all. Like, I hadn't thought.

10:54
Kieran
Like, it got to a point where I was literally sitting in my bed doing the crossword, the duo trigordal, which is 32 wordles at once.

11:00
Julia
Oh, my gosh.

11:01
Kieran
Love that game. Literally, my favorite wordle. I was doing the connections, the sudoku, the strings, like, all of those before I went to bed, because I needed to use my brain, like, before I went to sleep to try and convince myself that I'd done something that day.

11:15
Julia
Well. And it's also like, not using your brain. But also, I. Like, I go to the gym when I'm at school because I live right beside the gym. And also I walk a lot when I'm at school. So then I go home, and I have no reason to walk anywhere because I don't, like, there's no.

11:28
Kieran
There's not gonna live in a walkable city.

11:30
Julia
Like, and then I don't go to the gym because I don't have a gym membership at home. So, like, it's like, I. Like, I'm actually a slug, like, mind and body slug.

11:37
Kieran
I have, like, no energy, no willpower, like, no friends.

11:41
Julia
No friends.

11:42
Kieran
I just become, like, a piece of flesh that just exists and eat.

11:46
Julia
Like, and then I feel guilty because I'm like, I have this all this time, but there's, like, I could be productive, but on what? Like, on what, actually?

11:53
Kieran
And then it's just, like, I could be productive on things that are, like, productive. That's like, I just been doing productive things for the past, like, four months. I don't want to do one more productive thing. I just want to, like, go do something that is, like, with my friends and just, like, no stress, you know? But, like, that's not possible. I'm under break.

12:07
Julia
I think we need, as a society to get better at recognizing that relaxation and recovery is as productive as, like, the grind. Because in order to be successful during the semester, at least for us as students, you have to take time off and to do things that bring you joy. Like, I don't know, I do a lot of crafting, and I have a lot of hobbies and that is, like, relaxing to me, and it, like, fuels my soul, which allows me to be successful in all three jobs, six classes, multiple clubs. Like, I have to do that to be successful. But it's hard. It's hard to, like, learn how to do that instead of just being a slug.

12:42
Kieran
I'll be.

12:44
Julia
Yeah.

12:45
Kieran
I mean, I think what, like, something we also need to start doing is we need to be utilizing winter break. Like, summer break. Yeah, I feel like summer break is when people are like, all right, let's pull all the stops. I'm gonna gone every weekend. I'm gonna do all the things. But over winter break, I feel like it's more like reconnecting with yourself and like, yes. With your family. And, like, I can do that whenever I want.

13:04
Julia
Well, you live close to your family. Like, when I go home, my. My mom will cry if I don't spend enough time with her. Like, she, like, sobs when we leave, and it's like, so sad. But I live two hours away. But, like, it's like, you know, you know.

13:14
Kieran
Well, in theory, I was making a good point.

13:15
Julia
No, I get your point. But, like, also, I think this winter break was different because I'm not going home for the summer. I'm gonna be like, I'm not ever gonna be going home for an extended period of time. Like, I'm going to be in Raleigh for the foreseeable future. Like, for at least the next five years. So my mom, I think, is having a hard time with that, which I lowkey am too, because, like, hello.

13:34
Kieran
Well, I think it's also hard too, because you and your sibling are so close in, like, status, even though your siblings older than you because you did all the accelerated stuff, you're basically, like, in the same issue points of life where, like, my siblings, for example, like, my youngest sibling is 14 and in his freshman year of high school.

13:49
Julia
So your parents have. So, like, there's.

13:51
Kieran
And like, my middle brother, while he's 16, he's a sophomore in high school.

13:54
Julia
Yeah.

13:55
Kieran
So, like, there's still, like, some sense of normalcy. Like last year when I was a freshman, my youngest brother was in middle school. Like, you know, like.

14:02
Julia
Yeah.

14:02
Kieran
Whereas, like, obviously you guys are so close that you're like, leaving at the same time. Whereas my parents, it's obviously hard because I was the oldest and I was like, the babysitter. I was getting this done, getting that done, doing all this, the things. And like, you know, they watch me do all these things, but they still have two more. So they're like, whatever. We got two more to get through, so we got time.

14:21
Julia
Yeah.

14:22
Kieran
I think it'll be really hard for them when all three of us.

14:24
Julia
Oh, I'm sure. But they got time. They got time.

14:27
Kieran
They got, like, four years, so.

14:28
Julia
Yeah, they'll be all right.

14:29
Kieran
Yeah.

14:29
Julia
Yeah.

14:31
Kieran
Anyhow. Anyhow, with that being said, New Year's resolutions, I am so excited because I have some funny ones that I've been really sitting with. Do you want to go first?

14:40
Julia
Well, I would like to talk about my opinions on the concept.

14:43
Kieran
Oh, okay.

14:43
Julia
Yeah, please. I think I like the idea of New Year's intentions more than resolutions, but also, I do resolution. So I. I'm very big on setting goals and making them, like, and putting them where I can see them. Like, I write them down and stick them on my desk so I look at them all the time. And I like to make a plan of each step I need to do to complete that goal so that I can actually do it. And it's not just like, I wish.

15:07
Kieran
I could do it. Yeah.

15:08
Julia
It's like, I. I saw a thing yesterday of, like, why not me? And it's true. Why not me? Like, there's nothing stopping you.

15:15
Kieran
Yeah.

15:15
Julia
Like, you just have to make the goal and plan out how to do it. And it might take, like, a couple years, but you can do it.

15:21
Kieran
Right. Like, I. Technically possible.

15:24
Julia
Right. I know I can do what I want to do. I just have to have a plan. And I do, because I plan out every single thing in my entire life. But I like the idea of intentions, like, because then you don't feel guilty when you don't do it. Like, I think that could be a harmful thing of, like, if I don't do this and I feel guilty. But I did make, like, 10 New Year's resolutions this year. On that note. Okay, on that note, don't listen to what I said. I did make a lot of resolutions, but I also made a bucket list of which I've already crossed off one thing, and let's freaking go. Let's freaking go. But, yeah, so I have resolutions and a bucket list.

15:57
Julia
The bucket list is just, like, activities that I want to do, which we made that together. You were there.

16:02
Kieran
I did 15.

16:03
Julia
Yes. And then my resolutions were, like, I want to journal for five minutes every day because I have a junk journal which has been successful and actually come to find out. I actually really enjoy journaling. I like to write about what I'm thinking because I have a lot of thoughts that I don't share. And it's good for me to write them down and see them. And also makes me grateful because a lot of the thoughts that I have are like, I love these people so much. I love this thing that I'm doing. I wish this could last forever. So, like, it's good for me to like, be like, wow. I. I'm just a very, like, in the moment, grateful person. So I don't know, like all the time I'm just like, I just love you guys so much. Like, I was.

16:36
Julia
I was at Montreat this weekend for like a retreat with my friends for my PCM campus ministry. Whatever. That was like a lot of buzzwords. But.

16:44
Kieran
Going in with the most recent vocal stim is going in with the.

16:50
Julia
Going in with the. I told my friends I love them so much they got annoyed at me.

16:54
Kieran
So in the shade 405 with my.

16:56
Julia
Morphe brush, I am going to be going in with the. Yeah, so I don't know. I love telling people I love them. Anyway. What was I saying?

17:04
Kieran
Oh, my resolution.

17:05
Julia
Yes, my. Okay. Journaling is one of them. The other one is while on campus, I must step foot in the gym at least five days a week. And I said step foot, not work out. Because I feel like if I just walk through the gym, that still should count as stepping foot. And then I won't feel guilty, you know? But like, I still. I have the intention of working out. Like, I. We're going later today, which is like, pray for us. But I. We also are taking online classes and we're thinking we're gonna do a. Put the laptop on the treadmill and listen to our lecture videos while we walk.

17:34
Kieran
That's my goal. I see people do it and I just feel like in theory it makes.

17:37
Julia
Sense and I think it would make my brain work better.

17:39
Kieran
No, exactly. And then I would be like, wow, I like did my piece. Now I can go do nothing for the rest of the day.

17:44
Julia
Right? And like theory, I don't know, I just like. And also I get so bored when I'm just sitting and watching a video lecture. So I think walking would be great for me. And also like, people watching while doing that is lit tastic. I love people watching. And yeah, those are my. Oh wait, I had more but I can't remember what they. Oh, I have like financial goals because finances are very important to me. And oh my like mission this year, like personally, like mindset wise is seek to understand, then to be understood. Which is like. I mean that's like a classic, like, go to like phrase. But I I think I'm typically good at that, but I think I could be even better. Like, I think I have a lot of, like, I'm. I can be a very jealous person.

18:30
Kieran
What? No.

18:32
Julia
Anyway, I just get really territorial over the people that I care about. So, like, I need. It's. I need to seek to understand somebody else's, like, footsteps. Like, like, when, like, my friends start dating someone and I'm like, I never see you anymore. Like, I just, like, I miss you so much. You don't text me, you don't call me. Like, I never see you. But then I have to be like, wait a second. If I was dating someone new, I would be doing the exact same thing. And, like, it hurts, but it's natural. And I am so happy that my friends are, like, loving and being loved. Like, so, like, that's kind of what my mindset is. That's what my goal is for the rest of your. So.

19:07
Julia
But I have to, like, challenge my thoughts all the time because I am a very territorial person. So, anyway, your turn. What are your opinions?

19:14
Kieran
Well, after that moving piece, I was actually gonna say that my New Year's resolution is to make homemade butter.

19:19
Julia
Oh. Yeah.

19:20
Kieran
So, well, okay, let me give my basic opinions and thoughts. I think there's a lot of, like, stigma around the idea of New year's resolutions because 90% of the population makes them and doesn't fall through with them. And that's like, the whole bit is, like, everyone's going to be busy in January because they think they're going to be something, and then by the second week, it's all going to fall through.

19:36
Julia
You have to build the habit, guys.

19:38
Kieran
Building the habit, starting now. And, like, they're right. Like, it's very true. But, like, it also bothered me because, like, I like to make new resolutions and I like to, like, make goals. And, like, the thing is I usually do it. Like, last year, I hit every single one of my New Year's resolutions, except for one.

19:52
Julia
Yeah. Which was to a headstand, which is.

19:54
Kieran
Learning how to do a handstand. And that is one of the ones for this year. And I'm determined this year to make it happen.

19:58
Julia
Do it right now.

19:59
Kieran
Right. I just, like, one out and put a hole through the wall. But, like, last year, I got ordained. Last year I tried.

20:06
Julia
Ordained. Ordained.

20:07
Kieran
I can marry people.

20:08
Julia
Oh, see, when I think ordained, I think you got turned into a pastor.

20:11
Kieran
Sorry, I did do that.

20:12
Julia
Yes. Okay, perfect. You went to seminary.

20:14
Kieran
I love the Holy Spirit, the life.

20:17
Julia
Laugh, love Holy Spirit, yeah, I'm pretty.

20:20
Kieran
Sure that's what they say.

20:21
Julia
That's what I say every Sunday.

20:24
Kieran
Favorite saying to do is like, when someone's like driving me nuts. I'm like, for the life of love, happiness. Or like. Oh, gosh.

20:31
Julia
Right. No. And that's what I always say.

20:32
Kieran
Life, love and pursuit of happiness. Like John, what is it? John Locks three. Like, whatever. I love saying that. Like for the love of life in the pursuit of happiness. Get the freak out of the. Or like something like that. Yes.

20:46
Julia
So. Right.

20:46
Kieran
I was gonna say something that was really good. Yeah. Don't you feel moved anyhow? I. Yes, usually. Oh yeah. I tried a McDonald's cheeseburger for the first time last year. Had never had one until then. I also, one of my goals. This is gonna sound so stupid. Was to shave more than like once than three times a year.

21:03
Julia
No, I like shave like anything.

21:06
Kieran
My armpits, my legs.

21:08
Julia
Yeah.

21:08
Kieran
Maybe just ankle. Like I was at this point I was just going for like in like the. The general vibe of shaved something because like, I like, I'm the person who like when it comes to that, hates doing it.

21:20
Julia
Yeah.

21:21
Kieran
And also, like, I wear pants 98% of the year.

21:26
Julia
I don't think I've ever seen you in shorts.

21:27
Kieran
I literally own one pair of shorts that like I could wear outside the rest of like pajama shorts. So, like, I don't wear shorts. And so I like, why am I going to shave my legs?

21:39
Julia
And this is true.

21:39
Kieran
But then I'm like, maybe just for myself. Maybe, maybe I can do that for myself.

21:45
Julia
So.

21:45
Kieran
So I did shave more than like actually shaved like every single month.

21:48
Julia
Like, oh my God.

21:49
Kieran
I like, at least one time. I'm saying like there was. Now I don't actually don't want to clarify that any further. I feel like you can like get the bit. But like, I was actually like, I was in there doing the work, taking the hours. Taking what's hours.

22:00
Julia
I low key. I'm a big fan of an everything shower. So I be. I shave like once a week. Like for my everything shower.

22:08
Kieran
My everything shower was a hair wash shower. I was like, oh, gotta hit everything today, guys. Gotta wash my body and do my hair.

22:14
Julia
Well, I like, you know, like when you walk in my room, I have a huge cart of all of my shower stuff. And when I do an everything shower, that's going to be about 15 products that I use. And so like I will probably double cleanse my hair. Use like two different facial cleansers. I have. I Have, like a basic soap. And then I have a sugar scrub. And then I have my smell good soap. Yeah. And then I have to shave. And then I like, do conditioner and a hair mask. And then I get out and I put all my lotions on and my skin, like, I have like.

22:40
Kieran
There's a whole thing. I've, like, grown into that. But I'm also someone of efficiency. And also I pay for my own water bill now.

22:45
Julia
This is true.

22:46
Kieran
So, like, my everything shower when I do, like, the exfoliating, the shaving of the full body, like the hair, the face, the, like the whole nine yards, 20 minutes.

22:53
Julia
The dog, the cat, the fish, both home.

22:55
Kieran
On your left. I'm not right. On your left. You're right. That was also us. Before our stats final. Finally, were like, when the dog and the cat and the fish were home, that means that the P value was low. And so when the fish was.

23:08
Julia
When I left, I got. What did I get? An 84 on my final exam for stats.

23:13
Kieran
And then it got rounded up because it curved.

23:15
Julia
Yes. And I passed the class. It was.

23:19
Kieran
We. I have literally. Oh, my God. Like, I'm going back and you know, like, the meme where it's like the cat with the helmet on, where it's like the guy with the helmet on, he's like, yep. Yeah. You guys can picture the face I'm making. That was us. We studied for, like, six hours in Talley.

23:33
Julia
Going in with these six hours of studying.

23:38
Kieran
And then we, like, study in the library. And they got up early. And then I was, like, literally pacing. I was like, what if I just, like, threw myself onto a wall and, like, didn't do it?

23:45
Julia
And then we did it and I.

23:47
Kieran
Like, got a 90 something and I was like, I literally started skipping. I, like, I was literally, like, moving into the air because I was so excited for that freaking class to be done. Anyhow, going back to resolutions, the point of all of that was to basically say, I like setting goals and I like setting resolutions.

24:03
Julia
Right?

24:03
Kieran
So there's that and the goals and resolutions that I've kind of set this year. I want to make butter from scratch. I currently have a thing of heavy cream in my fridge, and that will be whipped up into butter sooner rather than later.

24:13
Julia
Okay.

24:13
Kieran
Because I also really want to make pancakes with the buttermilk. Do I have the money to be going to get the stuff to make pancakes? No. But am I going to go buy the stuff to make pancakes?

24:21
Julia
Yes.

24:22
Kieran
So that's where we're at. I'm Thinking that I might. I get paid, or we get paid on Friday next week.

24:26
Julia
So I'm thinking we put in some hours, and you get your pancake, and I'm getting.

24:30
Kieran
And I get my pancakes. Yes. And I think then I go to Food lion because I also, like, almost don't have any food. So I think I'm gonna try and make it to next Friday. That's a very lofty goal.

24:37
Julia
Well, now you have those bagels that I gave.

24:39
Kieran
I do. I have three bagels left.

24:43
Julia
You can have half a bagel every day.

24:44
Kieran
Yeah. And that's breakfast.

24:45
Julia
Yep.

24:46
Kieran
I think I have some protein shakes somewhere. I'll work it out. Anyhow, I. I want to start meal planning. I do meal plan quite a bit. Like, I'm pretty good. Like, I usually only spend a hundred dollars on groceries a month, and then, like, I can sustain it through the month. Like, I'm pretty good at, like, whatever. But I want to do more, like, cooking and more, like, things. Like, I just want to be in there, like, in the kitchen. Be doing that. I want to host. I want to have a galentine so bad. You are not ready.

25:12
Julia
Matching pajamas, guys.

25:15
Kieran
I was like, I need to feel the love in the air. Like, unpopular opinion. I love Valentine's Day. But, like.

25:19
Julia
No, I agree.

25:20
Kieran
But have I ever had.

25:21
Julia
Right. Yeah.

25:22
Kieran
Have I ever had a Valentine?

25:23
Julia
No.

25:24
Kieran
No. Am I gonna have one this year?

25:25
Julia
No.

25:26
Kieran
But am I still celebrating Valentine's every single year, and it's one of my favorite holidays?

25:30
Julia
Yes.

25:31
Kieran
And what does that say about me? I'm not entirely sure yet.

25:34
Julia
It means you have hope. You have hope.

25:37
Kieran
Myself. And I don't need anybody else.

25:39
Julia
I don't know. Hey.

25:40
Kieran
Okay.

25:41
Julia
I don't know that.

25:41
Kieran
Oh, and I'll leave. Well, please. I hope someone listening out there knows that reference. I think it's called Love Myself. It's by Haley Steinfeld. Steinfeld Baddie.

25:51
Julia
She's a baddie. She know she a ten.

25:53
Kieran
She a baddie with her baddie friends. Anyways, yes. So I want to do that in terms of academic goals. Sustainability. I got, like, all A's.

26:04
Julia
Well, sustainability.

26:05
Kieran
Last semester cycle. Think about the three green arrows. I got all A's and 1B plus, which was my lab, which I'm so freaking mad about. But whatever. I got all A's. So six A's and a B plus. Let me make that clear. Or it was like, A plus is An A minus. And that's important to note because an A and A minus is very different. And I would like to keep that Trend moving. This semester.

26:32
Julia
My GPA went up. Yay. Because I got a D over the summer. Remember? That's because of what the first episode of this podcast was like. Yeah, I failed the class. Then come to find out I didn't fail. I got a D and I still passed it and it still counted. But my GPA was lar. But it went up. And so now I won't be sharing my gpa. But it did go up. Yay.

26:51
Kieran
Mine did too.

26:51
Julia
It's fine.

26:53
Kieran
Oh, wow. I just accidentally pulled my shirt like.

26:55
Julia
All the way down maybe.

26:57
Kieran
What other goals? I feel like I had some other ones that were good and I don't remember.

27:00
Julia
Let me think.

27:02
Kieran
I wanna get a tattoo. Yeah, I really need that to happen. My dad, shout out Joe, just go do it. Really wants us to get matching pigeon tattoos. Aw, that's nasty.

27:10
Julia
No, and I love him more than.

27:12
Kieran
Life and I know he's potentially listening to this, so. Hey, Joe, love you so much. I don't know if my first tattoo can be a pigeon tattoo.

27:17
Julia
I think it can.

27:18
Kieran
I don't think it can. I just at some point. Cuz it's also his first tattoo. He also doesn't have one.

27:23
Julia
That is crazy. Okay, guys, just found out that Joe had a tongue piercing.

27:27
Kieran
This is true. Joe had a tongue piercing. My parents were wild and out. My mom has ankle tattoo that she got in Vegas.

27:33
Julia
What is it?

27:34
Kieran
A sunflower.

27:35
Julia
Okay, that's like acceptable.

27:36
Kieran
Like she got it in Vegas. You know what I'm saying? Like it was a Vegas tatt. My dad does not have a tattoo, but he did have a tongue piercing for a while and he had to take it out because he. When he worked in person at Verizon, he had to go through metal detectors. Detectors. And so he'd have to take it out all the time. And also my mom was like, absolutely not. Take that out now. Yeah, but I also think it was cool. I think it was angsty.

27:55
Julia
No, I.

27:56
Kieran
My aunt also had one, I think.

27:58
Julia
I. I don't. We had this conversation when you told me about this. I think I would not be able to stop messing with something if I had it in my tongue, you know?

28:04
Kieran
Well, yeah, I don't want a tongue piercing, but I think it's angsty and I think it's cool.

28:08
Julia
Like low key. There's this person that I dance with at home and they have gauges, which I'm not a big gauge fan, but their. Their gauges. Oh, and that Loki looks fire and they have like. But I'm not. I'm not going to get this, guys, because it doesn't fit my aesthetic. But if it did. If it did, I would do it. But they're, like, so cool. Like, I just think. I don't know. I just think the concept is so cool. Anyway, yeah, I need another tattoo as well.

28:30
Kieran
Yeah. I think I'm gonna do something behind my ear, but we'll see.

28:33
Julia
I like that.

28:34
Kieran
I need to learn how to do a handstand this year. It's gonna happen. Yes. I think my mindset goal for this year is to be proud of myself at the end of the year. Not because I haven't been proud of myself before, but because I don't take the time to recognize or rem it. I always, like, focus on what I've done then versus, like, hey, so last year, I spoke at a national conference. I got promoted three times, like, Right. Which is truly.

28:56
Julia
That did happen. Like, yes.

28:57
Kieran
And I just don't take the time to really do that. But I've definitely gotten better at it before because I used to compare myself so much, and now I certainly do.

29:04
Julia
Still, but, like, I certainly do.

29:07
Kieran
I actually have these same habits. I still have that habit, but it's not as bad as it used to be. But I just, like, don't take the time to, like, sit with that.

29:15
Julia
At the end of the year, I'm.

29:16
Kieran
Just gonna, like, all right, on to the next thing. Like, I just don't gotta better. I'm always moving forward and supposed to, like, also being in the present somewhat. But I also want to, like. I do also second the whole, like, jealousy thing. That's been really hard for me because over the past few months, like, I think every single person in my life has either got into or has, like, at one point been in a relationship with somebody, and I didn't have any of that. And so, like, I was really struggling because, like, one of my really good friends got into a major relationship. And so, like, me and them were not close anymore, like, how we used to be. And I really struggled with that.

29:49
Kieran
And I was really angry about that for a very long time because I was like, it's not anyone's fault, per se. I'm just mad that it has to be this way.

29:56
Julia
Yeah.

29:57
Kieran
And some of my other friends, like, I had, like, four people in the span of a week all get into a relationship who I was, like, friends with. So every single part of my life, because they all were in, like, different sections of my life. But there are people that I saw, like, every Single day. All of them got into relationships at once. So every single aspect of my life had someone who had just gotten into a relationship and they're like, oh my God, I'm going on a date with this one guy. Oh my God. This girl like started talking to me and then I was like, if I had to talk about how you're happy one more time, I'm going to throw myself off a cliff.

30:27
Julia
Let me, let me tell you this.

30:28
Kieran
Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. Okay, fine.

30:31
Julia
At the New Year's party, picture this. I. All of my best friends of my back home group, there's six of us.

30:41
Kieran
I was like, okay, I'm sitting right here.

30:42
Julia
But whatever. All of my friends that I actually like, no, all of my best friends, we've been best friends since middle school, whatever, are dating someone.

30:52
Kieran
And this is like the first, this.

30:54
Julia
Is the first time that a lot of them have been dating someone. Actually, I have tea that I forgot to tell you, but I'll tell you this, we'll talk, but at the time they were all dating someone. I have tea. Oh my God. I have to tell you. But okay. Anyway, it's good though. It's good, it's good. Oh yeah. I was like, no, no, it's good tea. Anyway, they were all dating someone gets to the New Year's party and I'm like, okay, I can do this. I can be brave. It's just the fact that like New Year's kiss. Yes, that happened. That did happen.

31:25
Kieran
And I also want it to be known that I was there too.

31:28
Julia
You were also there? Yes.

31:29
Kieran
Also not in a relationship though.

31:30
Julia
That's true. It just like, I don't know. I was really nervous going in because I was like, I.

31:35
Kieran
Going in with.

31:36
Julia
Going in with the. Really nervous because I am single for New Year's. I don't know. I, like, I've always been single for New Years. Like, that's not a shock. But I like recently have been having a really hard time with the being single thing, which pisses me off because I don't. I am a very independent person and I know that I don't need anyone, but I want someone.

31:53
Kieran
Yeah.

31:54
Julia
Like, and I feel like that is valid and it. And I know that it's valid and I just, you know, whatever. Anyway, but I've been feeling a little bit jealous and territorial of my friends lately. But. But then it was like the clock midnight and they all were kissing their significant others and I just looked around and they Were all so happy. And then they were, like, dancing, like, slow dancing with their, like, boyfriends. And I was like, this is the sweetest thing I've ever seen. Like, the joy that is in my heart at seeing my friends be loved in this way is, like, astronomical. Like, I cannot explain to you how much it means to me to see my friends being loved and appreciated in the way that they are. So that kind of eased my. My jealousy there.

32:33
Julia
But then I did have a crash out a few days ago because I.

32:35
Kieran
Got broken up with again, so. Well, okay, so there's this quote from Winnie the Pooh that reminds me of Winnie the Pooh. Oh, my God, I freaking love Winnie the Pooh. And it's how lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

32:47
Julia
Yes.

32:48
Kieran
And I. That quote, I love a lot because I think that was very much like, a physical moment of that quote. Because it's like, obviously, it's like how lucky you are to be in a friend group where everyone just loves each other and is being loved and is loving someone.

33:00
Julia
Yes.

33:01
Kieran
And it's not dramatic. It's not fake. It's not, you know, like, it's like you're very. Not you specifically, but, like, you in general are very lucky to, like, be in a spot.

33:11
Julia
Yes.

33:11
Kieran
You get to be in a room full of love. And so it's like. It's like I. Again, I was also there. And so it was very hard for.

33:17
Julia
Me to be, like, happy New Year.

33:21
Kieran
Like, you know, I was like. But also how lucky I am to be in a place where, like, I actually am friends with some of these people. Obviously, I'm not, like, super close, but, like, I'm friends with some of these people and, like, you know how lucky I am to have been able to be invited to this and, like, welcomed. And, like, just because I'm not with someone romantically doesn't mean I can't be with my platonic lovers.

33:39
Julia
Yes. Yes. So I like that. And also, another thing that makes me grateful for my friends is despite the fact that they are all, like, you know, happy with them one, whatever. When I was crashing out the other night, I texted everyone. And I never crash out like that, Okay? I never, ever, never. But I did. And I was sobbing and I texted everyone and I was like, guys, come to find out I'm not enough for anyone and I will be alone for the rest of my life and nothing I do is good enough. And blah, blah. Was sobbing. It was probably midnight, and they all text back and they're like, they like. I don't know, they like fixed it. They were, they were like this. It is not you. It is like the dating scene right now. There's just something going on.

34:22
Julia
All of my friends are going through this too. Like, you are not alone. Like, it. People do want you. Like, you are loved. You are beautiful. Like, I like, you are so desirable. It's just, hey, men that are the problem and society and. And I was like, you know what? You're so right.

34:41
Kieran
Well, it's hard too, because I feel like specifically with dating as well, I feel like it's one of those things where it's like, I'll believe it when I see it.

34:47
Julia
Yeah.

34:47
Kieran
Like, my friends who are in relationships can tell me all they want that I'm love and so funny.

34:51
Julia
Yeah. Everything.

34:52
Kieran
And it's not your fault. But like, okay, girl, like, be so for real. Like, you've been in a long term relationship for three years. Like, don't even come at me right now. Like, all right. You know, like, so it's just. It's hard for me because, like, it does mean a lot. But at the same time, I'm always like, all right, yeah, like, but then if that's the case, why am I here?

35:11
Julia
Right? And that's true. And I, like, I don't know even like when somebody ends something with you and they give you, like, their reason.

35:18
Kieran
Yeah.

35:18
Julia
I have a hard time believing it. Like, I. These, the past two have said, you deserve, blah, blah, you deserve better. You deserve someone, blah, blah. And I'm like, I actually can tell myself what I deserve. I don't need you.

35:28
Kieran
I'm actually aware of that. I was just hoping that for the first time in my life you'd actually be that. Because you said you were right.

35:33
Julia
Like, you said that maybe that was you. So I don't really know. Like, sorry.

35:37
Kieran
I had faith in people.

35:37
Julia
No. Oh, my God. So sorry. I trusted you for that. But, like, no, it's like, fine.

35:42
Kieran
That's what I'm saying. Like, see if I care.

35:43
Julia
Right? And then I'm like, okay, you said I deserve better, but what I'm hearing is that I wasn't good enough, which is probably. I'm having a hard time. My brain isn't processing it the correct way. And I know that I am good enough and I am great and fantastic and smart and funny and passionate and slay. And like, I was talking to Cleo that night that I crashed out. Yeah. And I was like, nobody has ever wanted me in the way that like, I've wanted them. Like nobody has ever wanted a relationship with me. Nobody likes me. And they're like, well, you know, but what about unnamed? And it was the guy that broke up with me after a week and I was like, I don't.

36:14
Julia
Or that I broke up with him and then he blocked me on all six accounts on my Instagram and like, said that I was evil. You know, classic that. Like, they were like, but he wanted you. And I was like, but I didn't want him.

36:26
Kieran
Like, it's different.

36:27
Julia
It's different. Like I want somebody that I want to want me in a long term serious relationship because that is what I was built for. I'm not built for anything else. I cannot handle anything else.

36:36
Kieran
No, no, absolutely not.

36:37
Julia
Anyway, so we really went off on a tangent there.

36:39
Kieran
Ten minutes later. Okay. With that being said, yes, we would love to hear what your guys resolutions are, if you believe in that.

36:46
Julia
And if anybody is looking for a romantic partner, send us a DM on.

36:51
Kieran
The join podcast account and we'll both.

36:53
Julia
Read it and we'll both respond.

36:55
Kieran
Yeah, you can pick and choose.

36:57
Julia
Yeah, yeah. Okay, we're gonna do notes app segment here and I'd like you to go first because you have been preparing for this and I have not.

37:04
Kieran
Oh my gosh. Okay. So over the break, I like started this bit with myself, I guess I love that randomly I there. Have you seen those cat videos where it's like the cat that's spinning and it's like, oh, yeah, no.

37:19
Julia
Wow.

37:19
Kieran
I just embarrassed myself.

37:21
Julia
So.

37:24
Kieran
Okay, so the list is things that piss me off.

37:28
Julia
Hit it.

37:28
Kieran
Coming off strong. This is where this all started. Because of this specific restroom codes. Tell me. No, no, no. Tell me why I am sat at a restaurant.

37:37
Julia
Yes.

37:38
Kieran
I have my like, legs crossed. So dainty. I'm eating my little muffin and my coffee and I'm aesthetic and like the winds in my hair even though I'm in closed doors. And I'm like, got to go to the bathroom before I go take on the day in New York freaking city.

37:51
Julia
All right.

37:51
Kieran
That's where I was when this happened. And I go to the bathroom, I'm like, met with a jerk. I'm like, oh, sorry. And there's a line so the people looking at me also. And I'm like, I'm just going to.

38:01
Julia
Pull up the store.

38:01
Kieran
One second. I like put my foot up and I'm like shaking it. And then you need a code. Be so freaking for real. So I have to wander on back and I'm like, hi, I want to use the bathroom so I can tinkle. What's the freaking code, sir?

38:16
Julia
That's like, blah, blah, blah.

38:18
Kieran
And I'm like, sorry, I'm just. And I. Oh, I just knocked something over. Anyways, restroom codes are so freaking annoying to me because buying something wasn't enough for you walking to your establish and buying a seven dollar coffee that's the size of like three sips of life wasn't enough to warrant me using your bathroom. I have to find a code. I have to unlock the secret lock behind the door with the hatch and I have to breathe in a certain specific direction and face the wind of the field to use your toilet. That's like two feet off the ground and disgusting.

38:44
Julia
Yes. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. That is such a classist way of operating.

38:52
Kieran
We start going on to like, societal.

38:55
Julia
I am not joking. That is like, you must have enough money to purchase something from this establishment to be able to do this bodily function in our bathroom that.

39:04
Kieran
Well, after you've cracked the code and used the escape room.

39:07
Julia
Right. Like you. It's like, you don't deserve. Like, you aren't allowed to do this unless you buy something from us. Which is kind of crazy considering they get nothing from using the bathroom and it takes nothing from them except toilet paper. Like I think.

39:18
Kieran
And what gets me is the coffee shops where you're like, now this is like really what gets me going is when I go to the coffee shop and I'm there to like work like lock and do my grind. Like, you never, you're not even ready. And I'm like. And then they're like, okay, like, here you go. And I'm like, okay, thank you. And then I'm like, oh, sorry, where is your blah, blah?

39:38
Julia
And then I go, yeah, it's right there.

39:39
Kieran
I'm like, okay, right. And I have to come back and go, sorry, what's your wi fi password? Yeah, and then I have to go watch it. I'm like, sorry, it didn't work. Can you one more time. You said it was cocoa bean 70. Okay, perf. And then I have to come back. I'm like, sorry, I'm back again. What's your restroom like? Oh, why do I have to like get the secret password?

39:55
Julia
Are you in a coffee shop to have to type in a password to the bathroom? Like, because I feel like coffee creates a little bit of an emergency sometimes for some people. Blend out. Hey, Like, I. Not saying this is me. It is, but I'm just saying you.

40:09
Kieran
Always have a five step plan in place, right?

40:11
Julia
You need to know, like, where the nearest bathrooms are, the nearest exit signs.

40:14
Kieran
Or they might behind you.

40:16
Julia
Especially if we're doing a whole milk in our drink and the drink is coffee, Right. There's gonna be an emergency for one, right?

40:23
Kieran
Like two birds with.

40:24
Julia
Get out of the way. Like, I will be breaking the door down.

40:26
Kieran
Like code.

40:27
Julia
Like I. I'm gonna like laser myself into the bathroom. Like, I'm sorry. Like, that's.

40:33
Kieran
Yeah, I. It just really got me going. And that's what started this list. I have like 10 more bullet points. I think all of them are funny.

40:39
Julia
So just sit with me. Yeah, no, I'm. I'm sitting.

40:40
Kieran
Bullet points two and three kind of go together. Okay, first are straws that are too long for drinks. Yes, I. Okay, save the turtles. All of the things.

40:50
Julia
Love them.

40:51
Kieran
But also at the same time, why the freak is there not two straw options for if I get a small drink and a larger? Because I don't need a seven foot straw. Because do you know how awkward it is to hold your drink like a foot away from you so you can like, get the straw like water? Julia has literally watched me cut the straw off my drink to like, be a specific length. Because I hate when the straw is like the double. The length of the actual.

41:12
Julia
Yes. And yes.

41:14
Kieran
If I'm paying $5 for a freaking strawberry banana smoothie that's like seven sips long.

41:19
Julia
Yeah.

41:19
Kieran
I best be getting a straw that fits that demographic.

41:21
Julia
And. And yes. And yes.

41:23
Kieran
To go along with that. Sip lids. Unpopular opinion. I hate sip lids. I actually prefer the lids with the straw.

41:28
Julia
And I agree.

41:29
Kieran
And everybody, like most people disagree and they're like, you want everyone to die. Like you want to kill our planet. And I'm like, low key. If that's what it takes. Yeah, I do. Like, I rather like have to deal with 2 degrees more of temperature on a daily basis than sip out of a sip lid.

41:45
Julia
Yes.

41:45
Kieran
I think it's dumb. I think it's stupid. I think it's more prone to spill. I think it's. Yes, it's unconventional and like, sometimes the sip part is too long, so you have to like, really like, like.

41:53
Julia
Your mouth are really like. Okay.

41:56
Kieran
Anyways, bullet point four is the three seconds after the light turns green that it takes people to react and press the gas pedal.

42:04
Julia
Okay. But that's like you're supposed to look.

42:05
Kieran
Both ways no, as soon as the light turns green, I'm flooring it to get up to 50 miles an hour.

42:09
Julia
Okay. Actually, I was gonna say something, but I'm not gonna say it. I was. Can I. Can I say it?

42:16
Kieran
No.

42:16
Julia
Okay.

42:17
Kieran
Because I don't know what it is.

42:18
Julia
Well, it's just. I didn't want it to offend you.

42:20
Kieran
Oh, okay.

42:23
Julia
I was just gonna say, which one of us has been in a car accident and which has. Right.

42:26
Kieran
And that one wasn't my fault, though.

42:28
Julia
Okay. I know. I'm just saying. Hey, but that.

42:33
Kieran
But that one, I wasn't the one. That's. When I'm at the front of the line. I don't do that when I'm.

42:40
Julia
When I'm the first one in the line.

42:41
Kieran
Like, as soon as the light turns green, my pedal is to the metal. I don't understand.

42:44
Julia
Like.

42:45
Kieran
And not that it's, like, inconveniencing me. I just, like, don't understand why we have to take 15 full seconds, make.

42:49
Julia
It up to 50 miles an hour, red lights.

42:51
Kieran
I know. I know. Well, that's why I, like. I look like. I'm not, like, sitting there, like, just, like, waiting to, like, throw. It's not like, you know, Mario Kart, where I'm, like, already steaming the wheels. It just, like, it gets. It grinds my gears, the three sides. Because it's just like, let's go. Let's get up to speed. Next are showers with just half a glass panel as the curtain.

43:10
Julia
Oh, my God.

43:11
Kieran
Was recently staying in hotels, and. What do you mean that the curtain was half a glass panel? Because picture this. I'm like. It's like, 20 degrees outside, so I'm wearing a sweatshirt. I'm not going to strip down so that my arm is bare, so that when I turn this. Because every time you, like, has something on your arms, you have to go into the shower, around it to, like, turn the water on, and then it starts going on you.

43:30
Julia
Well, let me tell you. Let me tell you something.

43:32
Kieran
Yeah.

43:33
Julia
The Airbnb that were staying at this weekend, all the bathrooms were Jack and Jill, and the doors didn't have any locks on it. And there are 20 people staying in.

43:39
Kieran
That house, of course.

43:40
Julia
And the showers, the. Like, there was no. It was glass. Like, the whole thing was glass. And I was like, if somebody walked in right now, they would see the whole shebang. They would see the whole shebang. And I, like, I believe you, me, can appreciate the concept of a glass shower, but let's do that only in Honeymoon suites or at least have locks on the doors. Because I. The fear that I felt in that moment.

44:01
Kieran
Oh, you're getting in, you're getting out.

44:03
Julia
No, because I was sharing a room with this guy that I, like, have only met, like, twice. And I was like, so if you would walk in and see something that would probably traumatize you, and that's when.

44:11
Kieran
You, like, start screaming during the whole shower. Make sure everybody knows you're in there.

44:14
Julia
Sing on, like, opera singing, like, please do not come in. Like, I'm coughing, like, so they know I'm in here. You would have bursting your eardrums.

44:24
Kieran
So funny.

44:25
Julia
Anyway, sorry, I just speak my truth.

44:26
Kieran
No, but that's how I feel. Especially what gets me really going is when it's the glass shower door, but there's also a mirror right in front of it. So you just, like, see yourself naked in the shower. It's like, I'm going to turn the other one.

44:38
Julia
And also the glass gets fogged immediately. So then it's like, really, there's no point because you can barely see me.

44:44
Kieran
Well, and then the other thing, too, is going back to my half panel thing is the other half is nothing. This wasn't like a sliding door. It's just like, the one half that's like glass and then there's nothing.

44:51
Julia
It's dumb.

44:52
Kieran
But, like, what point is that serving? Like, just pay the extra freaking $20 to have a sliding door?

44:57
Julia
It's probably more than $20, but yeah.

44:58
Kieran
Well, sucks to be that. Oh, okay. My next bullet point is singers who just lip sync when they perform. And I said, girl, I could do.

45:07
Julia
That if I paid and, like, for a ticket. Then you better be, like, busting out.

45:13
Kieran
Your whole nine yards of a performance. I want you at your prime, like, because, like, the Macy's thing, simulated parade, that's like the whole base. None of them actually, like, open their mouth. And then, like, recently, I was watching SNL and Cher was on, and she did not sing a single song.

45:27
Julia
She was like.

45:27
Kieran
And you could see it, too. I was like, queen, why are you here?

45:29
Julia
At least be good at listening.

45:31
Kieran
You are Cher. Like, share your talent, Queen. Like, what are we doing? That one always gets me. Okay, I have four left.

45:38
Julia
I promise. Okay, go ahead.

45:39
Kieran
The fact that I have to wash my hands after I wash the dishes.

45:43
Julia
You.

45:43
Kieran
I'm already elbow deep in the water in the soap. You're telling me I have to wash my hands after I wash the dishes? Yes. Like, be so for real right now.

45:52
Julia
Yes. And then your hands are all pruny. Yes.

45:55
Kieran
And then they smell like warm soap, pasta, sauce. Like, it's just. Okay, my other one. Color theory. I hate color theory.

46:02
Julia
Really?

46:03
Kieran
Because. Just be the same color. Like, it's the. Like, just be the same color. Like, it's interesting, cool. Like. Oh, yeah, go on. But, like, also, like, are we being so for real? Like, the color needs the attention. Like, are we being so for real right now?

46:13
Julia
No, this is true.

46:14
Kieran
It can't be the same color if I, like, squint one eye and turn around like always. Like, are we being so for real? Like, if me and some other random person put on a shirt, it's gonna look different.

46:23
Julia
What? What? What? What?

46:25
Kieran
That's ridiculous. One extra step when I'm deciding a color.

46:28
Julia
Yeah.

46:28
Kieran
It's like, well, does it look with my theory of color and skin tone and the way that the wind's blowing today?

46:32
Julia
Yeah.

46:33
Kieran
And just be the same color. Just be the same color. Do you know how much easier life would be if every color looked good on everyone and looked the same?

46:39
Julia
Well, that's true.

46:40
Kieran
So much easier. And that's my thoughts on that. And that is two more, I promise. Oh, this one gets me cooking only a certain amount of pasta at a time. Like, only using, like, half a box and then putting the rest back in the fridge.

46:51
Julia
I've never done that in my life.

46:52
Kieran
And so I get, like, the. The point of, like. Like, you. If you're cooking for only yourself, are you gonna cook the whole box? And the answer to that is yes. Yeah, I do that. I just eat leftovers. It bothers me when I, like, am in the pantry, and they're like, yeah, you can just grab the box of pasta, and there's, like, seven open boxes of pasta with, like, seven different amounts of pasta in it. I was like, are we being frail? And also people who crack their spaghetti.

47:15
Julia
In half.

47:17
Kieran
I also, like. It's fine. Like, it's not gonna, like, change my.

47:21
Julia
Life, but it's fine. It's just.

47:23
Kieran
I don't do that, and I think it's weird.

47:25
Julia
No, no, I get. I get that.

47:26
Kieran
Sure. I just don't like that it doesn't.

47:28
Julia
Fit in there, but it does.

47:30
Kieran
If you, like, angle it does. My last one, which I told you about yesterday, and this is the one that, like, I think I would genuinely rather die than have to deal with. This is touching the white stuff that comes out of the potato, like, the little spuds things.

47:46
Julia
She. I said she would rather be.

47:50
Kieran
You can't say that. I can't I. I said in my bullet point, though, the white spud stuff that comes out of a potato. Holy cow. I'd rather be impaled with both eyes than touch it. And I stand by that. I would rather be put into fire. I'd rather be slapped in the face with a fish. I did say slapped across the face with a fish. I would rather be, like, have to streak down the street. I would rather, like. There are so many things I would rather do than someone hand me five potatoes and say, clean the white little spuds off of it. Absolutely.

48:16
Julia
App.

48:17
Kieran
So why do you think that there's still potatoes in my. Like, I would have used those yesterday if I wanted touch them.

48:23
Julia
Yeah.

48:23
Kieran
I don't. I'm literally sitting there with a knife that's, like, extremely long, so I'm a little bit extra farther away from it.

48:28
Julia
Like, my body. Like, that is silly.

48:31
Kieran
I hate those things. It's like, I just feel like it's like a little alien that's like. Like, I'm gonna get you. And it's like.

48:37
Julia
Well, this conversation came up because were watching the second Maze Runner, the Scorch trials, yesterday, and the cranks, which are like, the zombie thingies, they have the flare from the sun. Get it? Because the scorch. Anyway, they look. They look like they have those spud thingies on them and here. And didn't like that.

48:56
Kieran
Kieran did not like that. Kieran is not sitting right with that. Kieran is.

49:00
Julia
Yes.

49:00
Kieran
Like, yeah.

49:02
Julia
It's like, it's on the same wavelength as that one word that I won't say because it.

49:05
Kieran
It makes you nibble. It's so gross. I don't understand, like, why that's, like, also attention seeking. You're already, like, you're a potato who grows in the ground. Do we really need to also grow limbs?

49:18
Julia
Like, it's just proving that it can do whatever it wants.

49:21
Kieran
Like, you know the girl. Like, you know how fingers have a different vibe to within phalanges? Because, like, phalanges.

49:24
Julia
Yeah.

49:25
Kieran
It's like the scientific. Those are phalanges.

49:26
Julia
Yes.

49:27
Kieran
That's a phalange. Whatever that is. That's a lie. That's an ecstasy exterior object. That's a scientifically upsetting term.

49:34
Julia
I agree.

49:36
Kieran
Anyways, anyway, it's really got me going. Do you have any notes that you want to share?

49:40
Julia
Yes. I would like to talk about the phrases and vocal stems that I have been using as of late and that I think need to come back.

49:48
Kieran
Sure.

49:49
Julia
Or that I will be Popularizing, obviously. Said a few already. Been saying a lot of. Going in with the. And then saying absolutely anything to follow up that phrase.

49:59
Kieran
Right.

50:00
Julia
Been saying a lot of. Once there was a way from Nana Noodleman from Sing, who is low key baddie. Sorry I said it. Yeah, sorry. Been doing a lot of loaf of bread from Hugh Jackman because there's a guy that, like, does, like, his impression on TikTok. Yeah, Been doing a lot of. Oh, you know the sound that a cat makes when it's going. It's like. Yeah, I've been doing a lot of that. I. One thing that I want to bring back that I used to do. This might blow out your eardrums, but I like to do the orangutan sound of like. I like to do that.

50:43
Kieran
I like to do that. When I, like, see someone who's hot.

50:45
Julia
That'S what I do. When I'm in my car, I see a baddie walk by. Like, I do that. The time you see me walking down.

50:53
Kieran
The street, I'm just, like, doing, like, the arm scratch.

50:55
Julia
Yeah, I'd be doing that a lot. What else do I do?

51:00
Kieran
And that's what I always say.

51:00
Julia
And that's what I always say. I say that all the time. After somebody says something that I've never said in my life, I like to say that. I like to say I'm sweating. Like, we'll say a sinner in church. But that is not the word I use. I use a synonym for prostitute, but that's just me. I also obviously do this accent all the time, you know, like, if that resonates with you can do that. But I also say take what resonates. If that resonates with you know, like, I'll send a text, you know? You know, like, I do that all the time as well. What else are the other things that I do?

51:34
Kieran
There's a lot of hand movements.

51:39
Julia
I do a little bit.

51:40
Kieran
There's like a. When we go into. Pretend we're typing, you have to put your arm up as high as you can, but super slow. And then go speedrun your hands.

51:47
Julia
Yes, yes.

51:48
Kieran
One that I like to do that I don't think you do, but I just reminded me of. It was. I was like, been there, done that worldwide, Mr. 305.

51:55
Julia
Like, okay.

51:55
Kieran
I always say, like that. Like, whenever I'm, like, making a point, I'm like, I've been there. I've done that before. We throw five. Don't even play with me right now.

52:01
Julia
I like saying, we've all been there. When somebody says something, it's like, oh, like, I don't know. I like, my toe just fell off. I'm like, oh, we've all been there. We have all been there. Or like, hey, when that happens, right? I love doing that. Oh, my God. I feel like I have so many other ones which you have all definitely heard because I say them all the time.

52:17
Kieran
Nasty.

52:17
Julia
Nasty. Well, obviously, like, we all know if I, like you, am attracted to you, or think you're cute in like a like a not attractive way to you, I will call you nasty, rotten, disgusting, stinky. Like, but it's like a good thing.

52:32
Kieran
If you say something funny. Like, you are so nasty.

52:34
Julia
You are so.

52:35
Kieran
You are.

52:36
Julia
You are slaying that you are slaying.

52:38
Kieran
When you make a good joke to Julia she'll go, you're slaying. Or like, that slays me. Like, that's like the biggest praise. Like, regards from Julia. She gives you that slays me.

52:47
Julia
Another thing that I do is when I wake up my friends or I see them for the first time in the morning. Like, I do this to Frank when I wake him up. I love waking him up. I good morning.

52:56
Kieran
Good morning.

52:58
Julia
How did you sleep? Like a baby.

53:01
Kieran
Yeah.

53:01
Julia
And I was doing that to my PCM friends this weekend. And at the end, Charlotte. Do you know Charlotte? You've met Charlotte? I think I've met her. Yeah. Yeah. She was like. Every time she walks out of the room and I'm like, good morning. She was like, I was waiting for that because she's not a morning person. So she's like, pissed. But in the morning, I'm like, that's like my jam. Like, I wake up early and I'm like, wow, let's face the day. Like, good morning, everyone. And like, I. I woke up Blake like that. Cause he was sleeping on the couch and he, like, sat up and he was like. Cause he went to bed at 3.

53:29
Kieran
And I was like, good morning, Blake.

53:32
Julia
It was fun. My.

53:33
Kieran
One of the ones I do a lot too is like, be so frill right now. Be so.

53:36
Julia
I do that all for the time.

53:37
Kieran
But there's also a slow blink that goes with it. Be like, be so fro.

53:42
Julia
I do a lot of facial expressions too. I do my one eyebrow up, like, lip sticking out. Mog face.

53:49
Kieran
My favorite is to do like the chin bounce.

53:51
Julia
Yes. Do what?

53:54
Kieran
Like, girl, I've been told that I'm so expressive. Like my. My English teacher my senior year of high school. She was like, you are the Most expressive person I've ever met my whole life. Because sometimes she'd ask me things and I would just, like, respond with, like, my eye twitch. And she'd be like, okay, yeah, heard. Because I also sat with the most. Like, I sat with, like, the class clown, which he chose to, sadly, I don't know why I, like, had talked to him. He wanted you so bad.

54:18
Julia
He wanted you so bad.

54:19
Kieran
So I love saying that too. Whenever, like, something happens, I'm like, yeah. And then he walked by me today. He wants me so bad. Like, so bad. My family loves that bit because I'm like. And then he texted me hello after I texted him first. He wants me so bad. So bad. Like, so bad. Like, you literally need to calm down. Like, you need to calm down because you want me so bad.

54:41
Julia
And, like, I can't be there for everyone.

54:42
Kieran
Like, I need to take time for myself. Like, it's just getting too much.

54:45
Julia
Just stay away. Like, it's too much.

54:48
Kieran
I'm actually kidding. Please take me back. But it's just, like, I love doing that.

54:52
Julia
So funny. No, I, I, I resonate with that. Oh, my God. What else?

54:58
Kieran
Oh, what starts. What, are we out in time?

55:00
Julia
We're at 55 minutes.

55:02
Kieran
Oh, my gosh.

55:02
Julia
Yeah. What else? My opinions on dreams. I have a lot of weird dreams.

55:08
Kieran
I've been having the craziest dreams lately.

55:10
Julia
Yes. And one thing that I like to say, sorry, guys, I'm admitting this, but I use this line on a lot of people is that I'm like. When I'm like, oh, good night, I'm going to bed. I say, I'm going to see you. Like, I'm going to find you in my dreams. Like, I'm going to find you and then I'm going to be in your dream and then we're going to have a conversation. I'm going to.

55:27
Kieran
You were in my dream last night.

55:28
Julia
Really? I found you.

55:30
Kieran
You got me.

55:31
Julia
I found you. I did use that line on someone yesterday. Did it work? Yeah, actually. Oh, it was pretty good.

55:37
Kieran
Okay.

55:38
Julia
Anyway, so I, I'm interested in the concept of dreams. I had a dream that Rotten died the other night, and I woke up sobbing. Like, it was so sad. I, I, like, in my dream, I, like, fell to my knees and, like, was sobbing so hard I could not breathe. And I woke up and there's, like, tears all over my face. And I was like, okay, so, all right.

55:59
Kieran
Anyway, I, I'm a big believer that dreams are, like, they mean something. They mean something.

56:04
Julia
Yes. Don't know what that one meant.

56:07
Kieran
You're scared of losing Rotten.

56:09
Julia
Yeah, I love rotten.

56:11
Kieran
Because you had to leave Rotten. Yeah.

56:13
Julia
Wait. I just thought of another thing that I've been doing recently. I. I do a crying thing and I just go, anyway, it gives me.

56:23
Kieran
The same vibe as, like, a whale.

56:24
Julia
Yeah. Do you know Dory? Y.

56:29
Kieran
My name. I've been told by multiple people that I give the same vibe as Dory.

56:33
Julia
Well, when you do that scream thing. No, no, she, like, it's like. Like, I can't do it. Yeah, that's the. That's the Dory.

56:42
Kieran
Anyway, yeah, I. Yeah, I'm a big believer that dreams mean something. I don't know why, but it's just like, if the fact that our brain is able to take things that we've seen in life that we don't even remember, or, like, things that are, like, people and places and whatever, and able to turn it into its own scenario. You're telling me that doesn't mean something on some level? Like, I'm sure the dreams where I, like, am like a shark that's in a tutu dancing across, like, a field with a cow. I don't think that means much of much. That might just be my brain. My brain on a break. Right. But I do think on some level, everything means something.

57:12
Kieran
Because, like, there have been times where, like, I'm really angry at something or someone, that my dreams are that scenario or they're with that person, or they're like the scene. Like me, I'll say role playing or playing out. Like, I don't even start. I hate. I'm like, the scenario in which I confront them. Or, like, if I'm really upset about something, like, I'll dream about, like, the falling out of it again or, like, you know, like, so I just feel like on some capacity. Like, obviously those are more extreme scenarios because, like, though that specific time, I was, like, seething. I was so angry for, like, months that I was, like, literally could, like, feel it in my bones. Like, that probably impacted it somehow. So I'm sure, like, a lower level.

57:50
Kieran
But, like, you know, like, I. I think that because I'm able to, like, impact my dreams and on some level, control them. You're telling me that, like, it all means something.

58:00
Julia
Like, it's not like, that's what I'm.

58:01
Kieran
Saying, because I feel like it's like your subconscious thoughts.

58:03
Julia
Yes. I had a dream the other night, which I posted on my spam story. I dreamed that I was in New York City and I was at my. Well, actually, maybe I didn't. No, I did. I did post this. I think in my dream I was like, in New York City, but there's like some sort of portal or something. Because I was also at my old job. I worked at an after school for like two or three years. And I, like, somebody grabbed me out of my after school room, was like, come on, quick. And then we ran out the door and we ran through another door and were in like Central park, but Central park was just one giant trampoline. And I was like, this is weird.

58:37
Julia
And there were people sitting on the roofs of all the buildings, like around and like, looking down. And she gave me like two poms like cheerleaders have. And she's like, okay, quick. And it was. And she was like, it's. It's our like cheerleading ballroom dancing performance. And I was like, what? I don't know this routine. Like, I don't know, like, what are the moves? And she's like, quick. And she ran out and put me somewhere and I like, could barely stand, like, because the trampoline was moving around. And she's like, okay. And five, six, seven, eight. Wow. And she's like doing all these things and I, like, was supposed to follow her. Blah. And then it turned into just a ballroom dancing. And then were ballroom dancing, which I can do. But like, I was like, what is. I don't know this routine?

59:11
Kieran
Like, I don't know these people. I don't know how to do this.

59:13
Julia
And I. And then I woke up and I was like, I don't know what just happened.

59:16
Kieran
I've actually had dreams similar to that before where I'm on a dance team and I have to perform a dance.

59:19
Julia
And I don't know the routine.

59:21
Kieran
Yep, yep.

59:21
Julia
Terrifying.

59:22
Kieran
I think that just means that you feel unprepared probably.

59:24
Julia
Yeah.

59:25
Kieran
For major events in your life.

59:26
Julia
And also, I had a dream after, like a bad breakup. I, like the last one with the four month situationship. I, that night, had a dream. Every single one of my exes was in it. Every single one. And I said, so what I don't need right now is this actually.

59:47
Kieran
Well, that's what I'm saying though. Like, you're telling me that, like, dreams aren't some subconscious.

59:51
Julia
No, like. But that was not. I feel like that was not a good message to be. I was like, okay, so let me actually look at my failures. Yeah. Anyway, dreams, I have weird dreams. And like, when I get sick, I have like, whack dreams. Whack. Like, I wake up and I'm like, what the freak just happened? I'm not real.

01:00:10
Kieran
Yeah. Something's been going on where I've been having very lucid dreams recently.

01:00:13
Julia
That's scary.

01:00:14
Kieran
They've been, like, very long and very, like, I've been, like, not, like, awake, but, like, more conscious in all of them. Like, usually I just get, like, snippets of things. It feels like it's, like, only, like, two minutes of a snippet.

01:00:26
Julia
Yeah.

01:00:26
Kieran
Whereas these are, like, 20 minutes. Like, I'm, like, in the dream for a much longer periods of time before it transitions to the next one. And I'm, like, in that one, too. And I don't know if it's just because I'm, like, again, not sleeping well enough. So, like, I'm sleeping, but, like. And I'm just, like, tossing and turning a lot, and I'm not. I feel like it's because I haven't been using my brain so much that my brain is trying to use itself in my sleep. Yeah. Like, I just, like. I don't know.

01:00:48
Julia
Well, I feel like. I'm pretty sure we talked about this on the podcast before, but I. I have dreams of, like, I had a baby. And, guys, one thing about me is there is unfortunately nothing in this world that I crave more than being a mother. And so I will have a dream that I have a baby, and I love this baby. And I only go through their whole, like, first, like, three years of their life. And I, like, have. I'm, like, carrying them on my hip. I can, like, feel the weight of them in my arms. I can, like, smell their little head. I can kiss them. Like, they are real to me.

01:01:22
Kieran
Yeah.

01:01:22
Julia
They are a part of me. And then I wake up and I don't have them, and it's not real. And I, like, I'm, like, depressed for at least a week. Like, I.

01:01:31
Kieran
You're grieving the loss.

01:01:32
Julia
Yes, grieving the loss of something that was never real and completely a delusion, which is, like. It's so annoying. And, like, I also have the same thing where I, like, get married and, like. Or, like. Or in the dream, I'll have, like. Like, a husband or whatever.

01:01:47
Kieran
Yeah.

01:01:47
Julia
Or whatever. And, like, we are, like, a happy family. We're, like, doing all these things together. And then I wake up. I'm like, oh, my God. I can't even, Like, I can't remember his face or anything.

01:01:54
Kieran
I just know that it was there. But I remember the feeling.

01:01:56
Julia
Right? I remember the feeling of being in love and having a child and being happy.

01:01:59
Kieran
That's how to. Sweet. But I have, like, the opposite side of that. Like, my anger and my sadness dreams is, like, I feel it so much that I wake up, like, in a rage.

01:02:07
Julia
Yeah.

01:02:07
Kieran
Like, I'll wake up, like. Like, crying. Yeah.

01:02:10
Julia
Or crying a lot.

01:02:11
Kieran
Or I'll wake up, like, sweating. Like. Like, I had a dream. I think it was, like, after we watched Maze Runner, because I just watched it for the first time with Julia a couple days ago.

01:02:19
Julia
Baddie cast.

01:02:20
Kieran
I need the entire cast at the same time. Next question.

01:02:22
Julia
At the same time.

01:02:23
Kieran
Yes. Literally, I was, like, rocking back and forth yesterday because I was like, wow. Every single time they blink, I, like.

01:02:29
Julia
I need to, like.

01:02:29
Kieran
I need to, like, reset.

01:02:30
Julia
I cannot believe you. And not watch that before because I have. I. They're so fine.

01:02:34
Kieran
Every single one of them. I need it. Every single one at the same time. Next question. Yes, But I had a dream that I was, like, being chased, and, like. Well, I was telling her I had a dream that I was, like, at work, and then these, like, two people came and, like, threatened to kill me. And, like, then I had to, like. And one of them got hurt, so I was, like, trying to, like, stitch him up. And the other one was like, if you don't fix them, you're gonna die. And I woke up, like. Because, like, I literally had dream that, like, my life wasn't, like.

01:02:57
Julia
Yeah.

01:02:58
Kieran
And I thought it was real because I was, like, running, and I was, like, trying to hide, and I was like, you know, like, whatever. And so, like, I, like, definitely, like, remember the. Like, I don't. I couldn't give you the whole, like, play by play, what happened in the dream, but, like, I can tell you that it made me feel terrified. Like.

01:03:12
Julia
Well, let me. You know, like, when you have a dream about someone in your life that you're like. Like, they're not, like, a main character of your life, you have a dream about them. Yeah. What? Because I had a dream I was in one of the Bridgerton houses. Like, have you watched Bridgerton?

01:03:24
Kieran
No, but I know what it is.

01:03:24
Julia
Okay. And it was. It was, like, beautifully decorated. There were flowers everywhere, and I. It was like. Like the week before, I was getting married to this guy who's, like, a family friend of ours who. Oh, I was just DMing him yesterday.

01:03:37
Kieran
Oh, yes.

01:03:38
Julia
Yes. And in my dream, our.

01:03:40
Kieran
I love his mom.

01:03:41
Julia
I'm friends with his mom. Like, we get along very well. Right? That's, like. That's, like, we Talk. Oh, we do. Anyway, and so our families were, like, hanging out and getting together, and, like, were all, like, living in the house together. Like, before the wedding. I was like, oh, my God, I'm so excited. Like, yay. And then on the day of the wedding, he like, oh, my God. I. I don't know if I ever told you this. You were there, and on the day of the wedding, he was like, actually, I have feelings for Kieran. And I woke up, and I was so pissed at you. And I was like, this is a dream. This is a dream. It's not real. It's not real. None of that was real. Like, I.

01:04:13
Kieran
Hey, I don't want your man that I've never met before.

01:04:15
Julia
And then I woke up and I was like, wow, I need him really badly. And I'm really pissed at you.

01:04:20
Kieran
And I'm gonna drop here.

01:04:21
Julia
And right now I'm actually quitting my job as a podcast co host because.

01:04:24
Kieran
You stole my man in my dream. Yeah, sorry that I'm better than you.

01:04:28
Julia
I cannot believe I did not tell you about that. I must have been, like, embarrassed that I had that dream, but.

01:04:31
Kieran
Or still mad at me.

01:04:32
Julia
Nah, I'm not mad at you, because it's not. It wasn't real.

01:04:35
Kieran
I promise.

01:04:35
Julia
I promise it wasn't real. Wait. Okay.

01:04:37
Kieran
Thoughts and feelings. I know we're, like, coming to time, but, like, that gave me a thought. Do you like.

01:04:44
Julia
Huh?

01:04:44
Kieran
Right? And.

01:04:45
Julia
No. And I do.

01:04:46
Kieran
Okay, perfect. Next question. So do you, like. I mean, maybe you've never experienced this? Like, what are your thoughts on when people have dreams of their significant others cheating?

01:04:54
Julia
I. The rage that I would feel, I think would have to, like, I would have to work through that for, like, Oh, a little bit.

01:05:02
Kieran
Okay.

01:05:02
Julia
Like.

01:05:02
Kieran
But would you actually be mad at your significant other?

01:05:04
Julia
I wouldn't actually be mad at them. I would just. I would just. I would definitely have to talk through it. I'd be like, hey, like, I know.

01:05:10
Kieran
You'Re definitely not, but, like, that's the craziest dream I had. Was that right?

01:05:12
Julia
Like, the fear that I would feel, like, I being cheated on is, like, the worst. The.

01:05:17
Kieran
I, like, I have been there.

01:05:19
Julia
Yeah, it sucks. We've all been there. I cannot explain to you the, like, fear of that I have. And, like, if I had that dream, it would take me a while to, like, trust my partner, even though it wasn't real, but not, like, a while. But, like, I would, like, have to be like, okay, like, take a second and let me come back to reality. Like, this is not real. They did not do this. Like, you know.

01:05:41
Kieran
Yeah.

01:05:41
Julia
But, like, hopefully I will not ever be dating someone that I'm. Like, they would lie to me like that.

01:05:46
Kieran
Well, see, and that's when I really want to choose to not believe that. I believe in the idea of dreams meaning something. Because then it's like, I must realize this subconsciously, but don't want to admit it to myself. Like, yeah, don't I?

01:05:59
Julia
It's actually just me being anxious.

01:06:00
Kieran
Yeah.

01:06:00
Julia
Like, hello. Oh, my God. We were just talking on the way here. Well, I was talking to you and you were listening, but I. I was talking about when a guy is clingy, I become anxious avoidant.

01:06:11
Kieran
Oh, yes.

01:06:12
Julia
And I feel, like, claustrophobic and trapped, and I'm like, I can't do this. Like, and then I distance myself. But when a guy is anxious avoidant, then I become anxious attachment, and I'm like, I'm the clingy one.

01:06:21
Kieran
To which I responded. Oh, so you're anxious.

01:06:23
Julia
And the answer is yes. The answer is yes.

01:06:25
Kieran
And so, yes.

01:06:27
Julia
Maybe something I'd like to work on in the new year is to find a balance between that. Because I don't like being anxious avoidant, and it's not my nature to be anxious attachment either. So I think. I don't know, I'm, like, not too badly into that. Like, anxious avoidant. I was really bad about that in that one.

01:06:44
Kieran
Sure.

01:06:44
Julia
With the one guy. Yeah, that was my. That was my bad. That was. We remember. Hey, I'm sorry about that.

01:06:50
Kieran
All for one. One for all.

01:06:51
Julia
Hey, you don't listen to the podcast, but if you did, I'm really, really sorry about that anyway. But yeah, so were just talking about that. I think that's a very interesting concept. And I never thought about it before, and now I'm like, wow, I just am a really anxious guy. Like, sorry.

01:07:04
Kieran
And that reminds me, like, that it's something I also want to work on is, like, the concept of, like, that you should be following our podcast on Instagram @TWTS pod. That is actually something I'm going in.

01:07:16
Julia
With the TWTS Pod.

01:07:18
Kieran
Oh, my God. During break. I don't. I think my extended family, like, registered this and then forgot and then remembered again. Because they're like, you have a podcast?

01:07:28
Julia
And I was like, oh, my God. Yeah.

01:07:31
Kieran
And they're like, oh, what is it? I was like, wtspod. I like, went like, you can follow us on Instagram. And then also we're on all major streaming platforms, wherever you get your podcasts. I was like, I need to chill. I need to calm down.

01:07:43
Julia
Yeah, you do.

01:07:43
Kieran
I need to calm down. But your guys new year resolution, it should be to listen to every single episode of the podcast and then also to follow us on Instagram and send us a DM and then comment on our Instagram post every single one. And then also follow our personal accounts that are linked in the bio and then also share it with all your friends.

01:07:58
Julia
Well, yes.

01:07:59
Kieran
So that we can pass a billion streams this year. A billion? We don't even have like 400 yet. We're like a million streams. Is you're like Mr. Beast. Who's that?

01:08:08
Julia
I chat generated Mr. Beast.

01:08:09
Kieran
Oh my God.

01:08:10
Julia
You were in a Mr. Beast. Oh my God.

01:08:12
Kieran
Lord Job, I can finally talk about this. Last May I filmed with Mr. Beast in a Mr. Beast Netflix interview. And it just came out over winter break.

01:08:21
Julia
It's true.

01:08:22
Kieran
So you can see me on Netflix. It's a David Letterman fun fact. I thought it was David Guetta, like the DJ artist. Oh my God. And so I was telling everyone I was like David Guetta x MrBeast.

01:08:31
Julia
Like that's where I was.

01:08:31
Kieran
And they were like, do what David Letterman.

01:08:35
Julia
So it's right.

01:08:35
Kieran
David Letterman's interview series on Netflix called My Next guest needs an introduction and it's the Mr. Beast episode.

01:08:41
Julia
Wait, that's a good name.

01:08:41
Kieran
And it actually cuts to meme more than once.

01:08:44
Julia
Oh my God. Because you're such a baddie.

01:08:45
Kieran
And I have photos from the set because we filmed at Mr. Beast, like filming. So we're on like on set. Like I saw. I know where it is.

01:08:52
Julia
Let's go. Let's go on the pod.

01:08:55
Kieran
That's what I'm saying that because since.

01:08:57
Julia
You not you are now best friends, we obviously sleep and going in with the.

01:09:02
Kieran
Hello, Mr. Beast.

01:09:04
Kieran
Welcome back to the pod. Yeah, so I was in fact in the same room with Mr. Beast and David Letterman and I was on a Netflix show and you can see me and I'm going to put it on my LinkedIn. So.

01:09:13
Julia
And we're here to tell you the truth because they don't always get it right. Bye bye guys.
