Jacob Berg [00:00:05]:
Welcome everyone to the D.C. beer Show. We're at D.C. beer across social media. Mike Stein, what's in your stein tonight.
Michael Stein [00:00:12]:
I am drinking coalesce dry hopped Czech Pale lager. Which the beery. No, the beery godmother didn't bring this to me. The beery Brandy brought this to me. Brandy drinks gin and beer and wine and non alcoholic beer. But it's sojourn fermentary out of Suffolk, Virginia. It's a dry hop. Check. Pale lager brewed in collaboration with Schilling. It's dry hop with petit blanc. You might remember Petit blanc from Tipo Pils variant one off last year, which we're gonna have Tipo Pils day. By the time you hear this, it will have come and gone. Brandy, what's in your glass this evening?
Brandy Holder [00:00:53]:
Hi Stein. Let me just say that I had a lovely day today. I had been so swamped with the silent auction and the women's panel and all that jazz and today was like my first breath of air. And I somehow didn't even have to go to work work today. So what a wonderful day I had. So I shared some beers with boyfriend and shout out to Matt Splain of Other Half. But we had, we shared Vine Street Farmhouse saison earlier and it was incredible. Shout out to vine street out of Missouri. That beer was fabulous. 7.3. She said it was her favorite or the most popular beer there and I can see why if you want to check out that episode it was we recorded with her last, the last episode. And then right now I'm actively, actively drinking Golden Mean, which is another beer that I obtained on my recent trip to Virginia Beach, Norfolk, which is where I got your beer from. Mr. Stein. This beer is from Commonwealth Brewing. And this one, this one's amazing. Stein, you're going to love this one. It is a 2.4% alcohol American lager with Holler Towel Blanc and it is just incredible. Doesn't even taste 2.4. It tastes like there's a solid 5% golden deliciousness in there. I'm. I'm a huge fan. Give me more 2.4 beers.
Michael Stein [00:02:29]:
I did not know the 2.4 was an option. I have 4.1 but that there's 2 with Hollerd Owl Hops. New Hollerd Al hops coming out of that pocket of Virginia. Were impressed, but yes. Jake, what are you having this fine evening?
Jacob Berg [00:02:45]:
If you put the ABVs of your two beers together, you would still come up short. Jordan isn't here and so in his absence I honor him with BJ's Brewhouse. Multiple locations in the DMV. Zany Zitrus Hazy IPA. It is 7.4%. It was brewed at the BJ's Brewhouse in Temple, Texas and it is the most bitterest hazy IPA I think I have had in recent memory and I am here for it. It's like a hazy colored, opaque west coast ipa. The hot bill is wild for a hazy Bravo, Cashmere Cascade and Citra. And it's been, it's drinking like, it's like 65 IBU, like green flash back in the day. I'm not mad about that. But if you wanted a hazy thinking you're gonna get some like OJ Smooth type beer, this is not it.
Michael Stein [00:03:54]:
I will have you know, Jake, it's a bit of a through the looking glass situation where you're sipping on a beer that I can clearly see is opaque. No way I can see through it. Jordan is actually at Halfway Crooks in Georgia and when he texted me, he told me he was drinking an Ada Lovelace and Halfway Crooks. Ada is a German style pilsner. So Jordan's drinking the 4.8 ABV crystal clear Pils. You're drinking the Hazy Cloudy IPA. Brandy's got a clear logger. It's just a complete role reversal and that's how we like it. We don't like normativity to be the norm here. We like to change it up at DC Beer. If you're not following us, dcbeer.com patreon come join our group of dedicated listeners.
Brandy Holder [00:04:45]:
I agree that it's kind of a weird whack a molecule Monday because normally I, I have a dark beer in my glass, but I still want to give some shout out to our beer of the month in collaboration with the Brew Shop in Arlington. Shout out to our amazing women over Julie and Beth over at Arlington Brew Shop. Our beer of the month is Dynasty's 838 Irish stout, which is just my favorite beer at Dynasty. Go check them out. Go support local and yeah, Beer of the month. That's what's up is my choice this month. So who's. I think who's. Who's picking next month? Jake. Jake, are you next month?
Jacob Berg [00:05:29]:
Correct. I.
Brandy Holder [00:05:30]:
What's it gonna be? April.
Jacob Berg [00:05:32]:
Yeah.
Jacob Berg [00:05:33]:
And so we can do some April Fools type stuff. We can do a beer for Easter. Probably can't do a beer for Passover, so it goes. But yeah, it'll be. It'll be fun. I'm looking forward to seeing that. The list of what's newly available?
Brandy Holder [00:05:51]:
Speaking of new, I know that Denizens is rocking out a bunch of new stuff. They, they have a new website format. And I think, and correct me, Stein if I'm wrong, but I think they're bringing on a new chef. They're. They're doing in a whole new menu, and I think it's debuting this week.
Michael Stein [00:06:14]:
That's big facts, Brandy. Launching a new menu by chef Shannon Tronoso, who you might know, because I know I, I was in my wayback machine, also known as my email inbox, my original email inbox this morning. And in 2017, chef Shannon Trancoso was celebrating the third anniversary for Brooklyn's Finest as the partner executive chef. So I know that in 2017, Shannon Troncoso had a menu with smoked wings, smoked Mac and cheese, smoked crab sandwich, and they were partnering with DC Browse, serving their pride Pils German pilsner in honor of capital Pride week, which was June 8 to June 11 in 2017. So this is a chef who's been around better beer for a decade now. Jake, you've been to Brookland's Finest. You've sampled Shannon's goods throughout the years. We're very excited to see this new, new. I believe Julie described it as a gastropub. So we're pretty pumped to see what's coming down the pike.
Jacob Berg [00:07:25]:
Yeah, I think Julie did a very good job of choosing a chef here. For those who don't know, I live near Brooklyn's Finest. It is the closest restaurant to me. And so I have been going there for as long as Brooklyn's Finest has been open, which I believe is coming up on 11 and a half, 12 years now. Shannon really knows her stuff. And Shannon likes beer. And if you go to the Denizen's website, you're going to see beer used in ways that, sure, you've seen it elsewhere, but you certainly haven't seen it at Denizens. By the way, much respect to Chris from Catalyst Hot Dogs, who was holding it down there as well.
Brandy Holder [00:08:07]:
Love you, Chris.
Jacob Berg [00:08:08]:
He's a Jersey guy. We love our Jersey guys. He's moving on with the Catalyst brand. It was time. He said best of luck to him as well. But Denizens isn't done here because they've got two collaboration beers coming out with other restaurants. One is Hill East Burger. You all know Joe Newman Sloppy Mamas. He's in Hill East Burger as well. Sloppy Mamas popped up at three stars a bunch. Three stars did a hazy pale ale for Sloppy Mamas. They know the way around that. And then later on this week, a lager with two fiddy. The best barbecue spot probably in the entire Midlantic over in, what are we calling that? Riverdale, as opposed to Riverdale Park, Hyattsville, right by Town Center Market with lots of taps, lots of whiskey, beer here, beer to go. Anyway, I think both those things are pretty, pretty cool. Plus you throw Shannon in there. Julie and Jeff have been pretty busy over the last couple weeks.
Michael Stein [00:09:17]:
Yeah, I was going to say, in addition to the two fitty beer, we're going to see a checks in logger for Hill East Burger, which I was actually texting Joe hog smoker Newman about as he goes by in his email. And Joe has been, you know, cooking up some fine pork for years. Way back in the day, a decade ago, when I used to work at DC Brow, Joe had the sloppy mama's food truck. Now he's the brick and mortar in Arlington. We have Hill East Burger on the hill and they're going to have a checks in lager, which, you know, if you don't know anything about Czech immigration patterns, at one point in time, Texas had a ton of Czechs. They have since become Czechs. It's a wonderful blend where people find similarities between Tejano culture in Texas and the Czech's love for pulled pork, barbecue beef, you know, Texas style barbecue. So Julie and Jeff at Denison's have been busier than ever. Shout out to them. And Emily, the three co owners at Denizens.
Brandy Holder [00:10:24]:
I just want to ask Shannon on, on this podcast if she would please, for the love of everything holy and delicious, to bring the Brussels sprout chips to Tennyson's, please. Those are my favorite things, period. On the Brooklyn's finest menu. I would eat hordes of those. I'm sure no one wants to be around me after I eat them, but I love those so much.
Michael Stein [00:10:55]:
Randy, this is a beer podcast, not a what I had for dinner tonight podcast. Now granted, I did have Brussels for dinner. However, that being said, we are using our platform to lobby for Brussels. What else is coming down the pike? What are we looking forward to? Yeah, in March.
Brandy Holder [00:11:13]:
Well, I want to shout out real quick because it is obviously women's month and you know, we just wrapped up our women in craft beverage panel at Lost Generation this past week and we had an amazing time. We raised over $3,000 for the Michael James Jackson Foundation. But riding on that, those curtails, I want to make sure everyone knows of the upcoming women's beverage event. I wouldn't call it a panel because it's more of like a round robin, speed dating kind of situation. This will be the fourth anniversary of this event. At Other Half this year, we have our dear friend Ann Jo of Lost Iteration. We have Samantha Newman. She is from Premium. Actually, we haven't had a distributor on before, so that's going to be interesting and fun. We have Megan Hereford from Daring Wine Insider. I'm very, very intrigued to meet her. Monica Pierce from 10th Ward Distilling. So we're representing the awesome distilling scene in Frederick, Maryland. We have Imani Collier. We love Imani Urban Garden. We have Alyssa Hackbarth, formerly of lion. She's doing some beverage consulting. Lauren Carey, our dear, dear friend and member. DC Beer member from Dynasty. And representing Pink Boots. And to round us out, we have Julie Tridente. I'm hoping I'm pronouncing that right from Precarious Beer Project, which if you recall was our beer of the month Kung Fu Kittens for February. I also want to give a shout out to our friend and member, Nick Gardner. He runs the store Choice Wine and Beer over in Wheaton and he's donating half of the profits from the beer or Brewery of the Month, which is Denizens to the local Pink Boots chapter. So if you want to support local, like micro local, go support Choice Wine and Beer and buy some Denizens and he'll donate two Pink Boots. So I'm, I'm loving this. I'm, I'm, I'm feeling the love and I hope we keep spreading that for reals.
Jacob Berg [00:13:35]:
We're gonna do the compliment sandwich thing again here. We just talked about a bunch of really, really cool stuff. Here comes the bummer stuff. Ashburn. And I guess Middleburg, Virginia's Old Ox Brewing is gonna close after 10, 11 years in business. Their last day, the weekend, April 5, 2025. Their lease is up. They tried to find a buyer. If you recall, it's a family affair at Old Ox. You got Papa, you got Marianne, and then you got Chris and Kristen, the younger ones. The parents retired a couple years ago. There was an attempted merger acquisition with Silver Branch that didn't quite work out. The lease is up. They tried to find a buyer. They thought they found one, but then the landlord went and signed another tenant to take over their lease. And so that's probably it for Old Ox. It's definitely it in its current space in Ashburn. And that's probably it for Old Ox, period. Unless we see something like Calvert, where someone Buys the brands, the recipes, the intellectual property and brews those beers elsewhere. I just want to give a shout out to the Burns family. I met them initially at Churchkey for the Old Ox launch. They are lovely, wonderful people. I want to give a shout out to Black Ox again. Piggyback on Brandy's dark beer season. A porter with a little bit of a rye snap to it. Just a really, really nice beer. I don't love lactose in beers. I always made room for the holiday season for Kegnog. I really like that beer, even if I only wanted it like one once a year. I thought it was very well put together. A really effective beer. And of course, they've got Festival, the Cherry Saison. That's the official beer of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. So thank you, Old Ox. Send them out with a bang.
Brandy Holder [00:15:41]:
Branded that Black Ox. That is such a good beer. For real. Like, the thing is, I don't think I saw it too much in D.C. but that is a fantastic beer and the Kegnog is really, really awesome. I remember when they changed the cans, the can art, and I was like, wait, where'd it go?
Michael Stein [00:16:01]:
Well, we've had quite a week, haven't we, with Tipo Pils day at Shelter, Churchkey and Rustico. And then outside of the quintessential Italian style pilsner Tipo Pils, we had Sierra Nevada running a Bigfoot event the same night we released our Senate Bach beer at the Heurich House Museum. So, Jake, that would be the niceness. That would be the nice, fluffy bottom of your compliment sandwich. You can go ahead and talk more shit, but I think we've picked ourselves up from seeing the next closing of 2025. I'll go ahead and preempt you by saying in the article you wrote. Check out dcbeer.com to see Jake's most recent piece, which he says, you know, there were some leases signed in 2015 and 2016, so this will not be our last brewery closing. Certainly not before 2016. 2026, and probably not before 2025 is up. On that note, Jake, what do you got for us?
Jacob Berg [00:17:07]:
We have a dope ass woman who's our guest on the show tonight. Brandy. Take it away.
Brandy Holder [00:17:17]:
All right. And Cho, welcome back to the D.C. beer Show. I know you, I see you all the time and I adore your lovely face.
Anne Choe [00:17:29]:
Hi, Brandy. Thanks for having me on.
Brandy Holder [00:17:33]:
Yeah. What you drinking? Do you have something in your hand?
Anne Choe [00:17:36]:
Oh, I should. You know, I meant to and I. Right now I have water, but I am about to after this. Go get our Kolsch that just got released and go up to our. Yeah, a little patio area after this and enjoy the 60 degree weather. Really excited.
Brandy Holder [00:17:54]:
Yeah, it's, it's, it's patio weather time. Which is perfect because for those who may not know, Lost Generation has a cute little patio. You guys got that last year, right?
Anne Choe [00:18:05]:
Yeah, we did, we did. Yeah.
Brandy Holder [00:18:07]:
It was excited.
Anne Choe [00:18:11]:
It's, it's so surprising how excited people get. I mean, it's, it's a tiny little space that can fit like 40 people. We just put some Astroturf out there and some tables and it is like really cute how excited people get for any sort of green space. So that patio gets packed full of dogs and kids and it's wild in the best way. So I'm super excited for our patio season again.
Brandy Holder [00:18:39]:
Yeah, today is the day, but it's Tuesday, so you're not technically open today. So folks are just going to walk by with cloudy faces as they walk by lost narration off the Metro drinks trail. Not only is it Tuesday, but It's your birthday, Ms. Ann. We're gonna tell everybody in the Hawaii world. I know you're so excited.
Anne Choe [00:19:02]:
I'm excited. This is my one week of like binge eating and drinking that I allow myself to just go all out. So that is what I'm most excited about. And that's how I celebrate my birthday. But yeah, usually usually very private. But yeah, I'm excited to just go home.
Brandy Holder [00:19:22]:
Everyone knows it's your birthday and I want you to update folks who may not get to Lost in very often. So recently I was in Virginia beach visiting my friend Jensen, our friend Jensen's new spot. So Jorn. And it was. We visited a couple places and we saw that Lost Generation beer was on the menu in Virginia Beach. I know you guys don't distribute very much really at all. And I'm curious if you have. It's Lost Generation has any plans of changing that anytime soon.
Anne Choe [00:20:01]:
We are. So we were lucky enough last year to get a grant from DC to expand our manufacturing. And it's pretty clutch for us because most businesses aren't able to expand until year five. They, you know, you just don't have the resources to reinvest in yourself like that. So this grant has been quintessential to. For us to expand while, you know, strike where the. While the iron's hot, if you will. So we are kind of testing the waters with Allied. Allied has. We absolutely adore them. They are great about getting us into craft beer accounts and Especially accounts that take care of their lines and we can trust that the quality control is there. So we have a select couple of accounts that they've chosen where we're kind of testing the market a little bit. And then this summer we plan on getting the tanks in and we should be able to brew by fall, honestly, which is with, with the new tanks, I should say, which is super exciting because that is when we will. We plan to distro a lot more, especially within D.C. you know, we, we don't distro a lot in D.C. yet, but D.C. try. We don't distro at all in Maryland yet, but we're going to start, you know, getting into Maryland territory and, and then. Yeah, and then, and see where we go from there. Start with Montgomery county and then maybe like move north upwards. But we're super excited to start expanding a little bit.
Brandy Holder [00:21:45]:
Allied donated recently a f ton of beer to our silent auction for the women's panel that we just had last Tuesday at Lost Generation. And I know that event is already in the past and we're looking for forward to other events coming up, which you'll also be a part of. But would you like to reflect very quickly on last Tuesday's women's panel because that was wild. That was crazy.
Anne Choe [00:22:13]:
It was one of the best events I've ever been to and I've seen and huge shout out to you. You are a one woman show there. I cannot believe how much you had accomplished. But the, everything from the panel itself, just a really impressive lineup of females in our industry. I mean, just as people in our industry. It was a really impressive crowd. So we knew it was going to be a great panel to begin with. But the thing that I really took away from that is every person had an incredible, incredibly inspirational thing to say. And I, you know, it's, I like sat in the back and I was joking. I, like, I was drink, I was getting drunk in the back and just kind of like looking at the panelists and being like, I need to be better. I want to be better.
Brandy Holder [00:23:03]:
I want to be like.
Anne Choe [00:23:06]:
It was, it was, I mean, like just. It brought tears to my eyes to see like how, how, how much, how, how, how much we've progressed in terms of our small little industry community that we've built. And then to see the inspiration behind it and being able to relate and, you know, there were laughs, there were, you know, feels. There were like few tears. Yeah, feel. So many feels. And it was, it was such an amazing, amazing panel. I hope, I hope we can do it again. Every year we raised so much money for the MJJ foundation, which, you know, kind of was, you know, speak to what we were, what we want to grow, see grow in our industry. And that's more diversity and more various voices heard in our industry.
Brandy Holder [00:23:58]:
And you're going to be on the upcoming Other Half panel on the 20th. This is actually your second time being on this panel. You have a, you have a following and you may not know it, but everyone adores you, trust me.
Anne Choe [00:24:12]:
Oh, that's, I mean, that's really sweet. I just, you know, I think the Other Half panel was so much fun and it's so different in that it's not your traditional, like speaker versus audience panel. You know, you really get to connect with each individual person one by one.
Brandy Holder [00:24:32]:
I'm curious your personal opinion with so many breweries closing. We just learned of two in the last two weeks. It, it seems like, I don't want to say the other breweries were doing something wrong because I, I'm not going to say that that's a very rude and probably untrue thing to say. But it seems like Lost, it is doing something very right because every time I go in there, you guys are slammed and most other breweries right now are struggling. And I'm not saying that you guys are, aren't like, have the best sales of your life. I'm sure you don't. But things have been really hard for all the other breweries. And I'm just curious what, what, how you're viewing this and what you think that you, you in Lost Generation are doing that maybe is slightly different that's keeping you in such good standing.
Anne Choe [00:25:26]:
Well, that's very, those are, that's very kind of you. Thank you for, for saying that. We, honestly, I think we, first of all, we do have the advantage of being the new kids on the block, though. When you're the new kid on the block, then you're popular and everybody wants to check you out. That said, we're very small, so we have a very small team. So we do keep our costs down in terms of community, trying to wear as many hats ourselves as possible in order to do so. And part of the reason is, you know, we like to keep the small team. We've always wanted to stay pretty small. We've never wanted to be the, you know, multimillion dollar conglomerate brewery. We were in it for the passion. We do it because we love it. But then also, you know, for us, we've always wanted to be very community focused. So what we do notice, you know, all of our neighbors, like, a majority of our success comes because the community loves us so much. I think they frequent. I mean, there are people who come four to five days a week, like, for the past three years, religiously. So that really helps keep our lights on. And we, you know, we give back as much as we wear most of our hats so that we can use as much funds as we can to give back to our community as possible. It's something that we learned actually, from Lagunitas. They did a fantastic job in really giving, donating a lot back to their community. And we saw what kind of outreach it did, how many people it touched, the culture that it provided. And so that is what we strive to do. We always have a. Like a charity collab. We try to do once every other month. We have a charity event once a month. You know, we. We provide space for, like, I mean, Eckington alone. Like, all of our regulars call us Eckington's living room because the. There's. There's even one chat that goes out where all they do is put up a bat signal. One person puts up a bat signal, and then, like, a group of, like, 20 will show up out of nowhere because they're just like, all right, it's time to go loft, then. And that's what it means. And so I think that's what contributes to our success. And then, of course, you know, Jared, my husband and co owner, I call him our creative genius. He's the brains behind all the beer and the art and anything that's beautiful inside the tap room is thanks to him.
Brandy Holder [00:28:14]:
So, yeah, shout out to Jared. Jared makes some damn good beer, and I think he brews them specifically for me because he always be putting some mosaic hops in there. And I'm like, yes, Jared, thank you for me. I knew it.
Anne Choe [00:28:28]:
Sure does.
Brandy Holder [00:28:30]:
Do you have any grand plans? Are you thinking ahead for your third anniversary?
Anne Choe [00:28:34]:
Oh, that's a great question. We have not. I'll be honest with you. We haven't even. We should start thinking about that. That's a reminder. I. We have not even started thinking about that yet. But we're. Every year. We manage every year. I think, you know, this is the best that we're going to do. This is. This party was amazing. How. How can we top this next year? And I think the past few years, we've been able to top it each year, so I hope this year is the same. We're. We're going to work on some cool collabs. As every as always, bring in some fun bands and I don't know, hopefully make it bigger and better.
Brandy Holder [00:29:15]:
Yeah. Speaking of collabs and beer, what beers are coming down the pike in the next couple weeks?
Anne Choe [00:29:21]:
Oh, you know what? That is a great question. Well, a couple of nice, exciting ones. So we obviously just released our cult, which I think Ann had touched on.
Brandy Holder [00:29:31]:
And had a fantastic cult service.
Anne Choe [00:29:33]:
Thanks for joining us. It was wonderful seeing you and but.
Brandy Holder [00:29:38]:
We got a, our next up is.
Anne Choe [00:29:41]:
We'Re releasing a German style Bock 6.3% with Tet Nang and Holotau Blanc. We will be releasing that not this.
Brandy Holder [00:29:51]:
Friday, but next and that's going to be what we're taking down to Maillard.
Anne Choe [00:29:56]:
Fest down in Norfolk, Virginia at Benchtop Brewing. And then after that we have one of our favorite beers for many reasons. It's called Where's Denali?
Brandy Holder [00:30:08]:
It's a American pale ale with what.
Anne Choe [00:30:13]:
Used to be called Denali Hops and now it's called satana hops or Mount McKinley hops or whatever you want to call it.
Michael Stein [00:30:19]:
And Mosaic and such.
Brandy Holder [00:30:21]:
But we take a lot of the.
Anne Choe [00:30:22]:
Proceeds and we, we fund the local.
Brandy Holder [00:30:26]:
Dog parks here in the neighborhood. So it's a way of us raising.
Anne Choe [00:30:30]:
Money for Eckington Parks and Arts.
Brandy Holder [00:30:33]:
And it's got a beautiful Whereas Waldo.
Anne Choe [00:30:37]:
Theme where you have to actually find our brewery dog Denali in the where.
Brandy Holder [00:30:43]:
So cute. Yeah. Because for those who don't know, their dog is named Denali and it's adorable.
Anne Choe [00:30:52]:
And then we got, we opened with.
Michael Stein [00:30:55]:
A rotating beer called There Are Always.
Brandy Holder [00:30:57]:
Hops and we're up to version five.
Anne Choe [00:31:01]:
But we'll be releasing version six of that. And yeah, I mean that's what's coming up in the next couple weeks. Oh, and a new west coast pilsner.
Brandy Holder [00:31:11]:
Called Highway Clouds with Citra. Sorry, I brew it and I don't remember Citra Centennial and Citrus Centennial and Simcoe.
Anne Choe [00:31:23]:
Sorry. Yeah.
Michael Stein [00:31:24]:
And it's, yeah, we just dry hopped that.
Anne Choe [00:31:26]:
So it'll be a couple weeks, but.
Michael Stein [00:31:28]:
That'Ll come out and that's what's coming.
Anne Choe [00:31:30]:
Out in the next couple weeks.
Brandy Holder [00:31:31]:
Thank you, Jared. Special appearance by Jared on Anne's birthday podcast. Thanks for being on the show. No, I'm just kidding. I know someone who's going to be excited about that Bach beer. His name is Michael Stein. So I'm, I'll be sure to tell him that. So we'll be first in line to get that. And Happy Women's Month to you. It's so thank you Special.
Anne Choe [00:31:56]:
You too.
Brandy Holder [00:31:57]:
Thank you. It's so special to have you and so many other incredible women in the local dmv, beer industry and beverage industry in general. And you are adored and loved and you do bring the community together. And for that, I very, very gratefully thank you. And we all do. And thank you to Jared for making delicious beer and cheers to Loched in.
Anne Choe [00:32:23]:
Because we freaking loved Lost to you and DC Beer. I mean, we. I don't know if you remember, but when we first met, I was kind of like, I was secret stalking DC Beer and we first met at City State and I sheepishly came up to you and introduced myself and. And it's thanks to DC Beer now that we got, you know, our first kind of like, press launch during those first couple of months, which contributes to our success. I think it's really important. So thank you for everything that you do and for what D.C. bureau does to help get the word out.
Brandy Holder [00:33:00]:

Jacob Berg [00:33:29]:
Thank you so much, Anne, for so many things. What you did with Lost Generation and the Women's Brew Culture Club and the panel for the Michael James Jackson foundation was tremendous. Happy birthday to you and thank you so much. Brandy. I do want to say one more thing about the fundraiser from Michael James Jackson foundation, and that's that $3,000 is a life changing amount of money for someone. It's the difference between going someplace and not going someplace. Where if you go to, say, GABF on a scholarship, you network, you meet people, things happen. It was just super, super cool to even play a small part in that. It's great. Let's do it again sometime.
Brandy Holder [00:34:22]:
Let's. I cried. It was a lot of work, but I would do it in a heartbeat, again and again, because it really brought everybody together. The turnout was so heartwarming and it felt great. It felt powerful to have all those women in the room and everyone show up and support. And when I saw how much we raised, I was shocked because honestly, I wasn't going into it expecting to race that much. And huge, endless love to all of our sponsors. Who donated things to the auction? Everyone. Everyone had a great time bidding. And I'm so thankful because without you, we couldn't have done that. And I know it's hard to give things right now. Businesses are hurting. But every little bit that you gave helped us achieve this goal and to help someone else. And I'm going to cry just thinking about it. But thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. That's all I have to say. Thank you.
Jacob Berg [00:35:29]:
I encourage you all, as the weather changes, to walk the Met Beer Trail and patronize your local breweries. That will be a happy day indeed. Remember, sign up for your passport, get rewards, get swag, get a T shirt, get a cool beer holder thing that can hold a glass while you bike, Please don't drink. And then bike all over the place. Be smart about it. And again, we are at dcbeer across social media. Dcbeer.com dcbeer.com Patreon for the support of the readers, the interactors, the influencers, viewers and listeners like you.
