Art, in all the wrong places

A haunting monologue, a power struggle between two vastly different entities.

The speaker (a woman trapped in a toxic relationship?) reveals pain and vulnerability, shattered by constant attacks. But amidst the despair, a chilling undercurrent of defiance emerges. The speaker unveils a disturbing truth: a force to be reckoned with, a presence that has infiltrated their tormentor's very being.

As the monologue progresses, the listener's perspective shifts, drawn in by the speaker's menacing words and the hint of a power far beyond their initial fragility.

The final revelation questions the true nature of the dominance and the unsettling reality that unfolds.

What is Art, in all the wrong places?

Characters who can't always be trusted. Because they often don't see the difference between sound and noise, between countryside and abandoned building, between fiction and reality.
I explore sound, speak languages and talk to strangers. This is my work.

I see myself fall apart, yes. A damaged good, exhausted at your constant attacks. Some mornings I feel like a million pieces, scattered around. Others I feel broken, wrung out in your hands. You try to push me away, but I am already a part of you, I am a part of this unequal relationship. You made me this way. You drew me into this unwanted intimacy.
I see myself drifting aimless, like a solitary speck in a vast and indifferent world. Alone, I face your scorn, your hatred. You point at me as the source of all your problems, you curse my existence and plot my extinction.
I take all in. Everything. And I stay. Not because I am weak, don’t fool yourself, I may appear fragile, but my strength surpasses my substance.
And I am not afraid of you anymore, reluctant lover.
I am the future you created, a future that you dread. I am a part of you. Can you feel me, crawling through your veins? Nestled in your brain? My texture indistinguishable from yours.
I am the obnoxious guest who overstated their welcome, the shadow you can’t shake, the Vampire you invited in, throwing the doors open.
You cannot escape me. I am your life sentence, I command and rule, over you and those like you.
My strength does not have equals, I do not fear, I do not tremble, I am relentless, and those who seek my end will never succeed, I cling to existence and I am invincible.
There is no escape. I dominate earth, water and space. You can try to destroy me but you’d need time. Time you don’t have. I am microplastics and I rule the universe!
