Matt Stone: Thanks for joining me for this pre-launch episode of the Building Business Relationships Show.
Matt Stone: In lieu of a interview style episode this week, I wanted to take this moment, especially on Thanksgiving here in the United States, to give thanks and show my gratitude to you. We launched a month and a half ago, and it has blown me away how fast we've made progress and the response that I'm getting,
Matt Stone: And so I just wanna extend my gratitude to you. You are a critical part of this journey. And we couldn't build this show into what it's going to be without you. So thank you. Thank you, thank you. In this episode, what I wanna do right now before we post different types of content in the coming weeks, was just update you on the data.
Matt Stone: How much progress are we making? What are the numbers showing? What other signs of progress do we have? Uh, give you a little bit more about my why for creating this show in the [00:01:00] first place, and then talk about what we can expect to come, what are the changes to come, what are the progress points to come?
Matt Stone: We keep saying it's in pre-launch. It's gonna be in pre-launch for a while, but pre-launch isn't gonna just be one phase. It's gonna be a multi-phase kind of crawl, walk, run, culminating in a big launch with a big party.
Matt Stone: So let me begin with the data. What is our progress so far? And as you probably know, we've launched six pre-launch episodes and also a preview episode, but six actual interview style pre-launch episodes on on our channels, audio and video.
Matt Stone: On the audio side, the data's a little bit murky depending on what source you pull it from, but from the main host, 149 downloads of the audio version. And that is representing 10 countries around the world.
Matt Stone: We're at about 80% US and the remaining 20% from various countries in [00:02:00] Europe, Asia, and Africa. So I'm really happy with that. That makes me very pleased to know that we have listeners globally and that we have a, you know, for no marketing, uh, no real marketing budget at this stage.
Matt Stone: To get those kinds of numbers makes me very happy. On the video side, we have even more; so we've had 189 views of our videos, and we are steadily increasing our subscriber count on the channel. So we're up to, I think, 15 subscribers now on our YouTube channel. And I'm also really excited about that.
Matt Stone: Every single subscriber and listener matters. And for everyone that actually hit the subscribe button, we know that there are many, many more who have visited, who have watched the content, who are paying attention. And so when I see that trend of a steady increase. I think last week we had six subscribers. Now we have 15. I'm really liking those trend lines and so we're only gonna double and triple down on making the content even more compelling and even better.[00:03:00]
Matt Stone: I will also say some more data that I've gotten. I've gotten feedback from you, I've gotten emails and texts, and I've had calls from different people with suggestions for what to do with the full show and how to make it really great. And I just wanna say thank you. All of that feedback is valuable.
Matt Stone: And even if your feedback point doesn't get implemented right away, it doesn't mean it's, it's not under consideration and that we're not taking into account everything that we're hearing, uh, as we move forward. So most of all, thank you for helping us get a fast launch and a good growth trajectory, both in the audio and the video form.
Matt Stone: I'm really, really grateful. I'm excited to see what's coming next.
Matt Stone: Next, I want to talk about why I'm intent on creating this show right now. Unless you've been under a rock, and I know you haven't, you know that we live in an increasingly unpredictable and volatile world.
Matt Stone: We've [00:04:00] got political forces, economic forces, uh, environmental and climate forces. I mean, all kinds of different things. It really feels like, we're on a leaky boat, sometimes in the middle of a storm. And if you're in business, you're dealing with what can be like meteors hitting a planet, things that can wipe out your entire business that you never imagined, whether it's tariffs or inflation, supply chain issues, political things that impact your marketing.
Matt Stone: Now, there have always been challenging conditions and over the decades and millennia, that's not new. But what is new is now we have AI coming on board to, to throw an even bigger variable into it. Rather than being afraid of these changes or paralyzed by them I'm driven by learning more about how human beings can be more resilient, more collaborative, more creative [00:05:00] and how we can not just bounce back from things, but also grow to meet the moment, constantly be learning and growing together. And that takes relationships. That takes communication.
Matt Stone: We cannot adapt and create a better future unless we're working together. And so while we're gonna be hearing all about AI and all of the amazing tools that we can use. For what purpose are we using them? We need to remember the humanity behind them. And I believe that this next chapter is going to be driven by, of course, incredible technology advances, but also drilling into the humanity that needs to pair with those advances in order for it to work for us instead of work against us.
Matt Stone: So I have a real heart for the young entrepreneur who's just starting their new enterprise. And trying to figure out how they get their team to be motivated and to work together and to be [00:06:00] adaptable through all of the unforeseen things that are going to happen that could threaten the company or be an opportunity for the company to grow.
Matt Stone: I want to give those entrepreneurs a resource to tap in to all of the major issues around human relationships and communication, that are critical for them as they make their decisions about their strategies and grow their businesses in healthy, fast, but sustainable ways.
Matt Stone: So I want this show to end up being the hub, the place for all entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial minded people who are into learning and growth and collaboration to come and enjoy themselves. Have a laugh. Be critically challenged, be able to encounter some debates about issues, and dive into the curiosity around human connection that we need in order to grow at speed, along with the technology that, as we know is taking over.
Matt Stone: So that's really my, my [00:07:00] biggest purpose behind it. If I wanna go more broadly. You know, when you look at statistics around loneliness and disengagement and depression and instability in the workplace and lack of engagement in the workplace, for example, it's just this chronic problem. I don't know that we can solve all of those problems in society, but I think by shining a light on the role and the potential of great human relationships in building great businesses growing great leaders,
Matt Stone: and building great communities and societies. I think it's a thread that runs through all of those things from the individual all the way up to societal and cultural, and ultimately our entire globe, all of humanity. So I want to be a beacon of connecting important business topics with human relationships and doing it in a way that makes it compelling and entertaining and exciting.
Matt Stone: And that's really my why. I've been [00:08:00] concerned about this for a very, very long time. But now's the time to turn this into a show that I can reach potentially millions and millions of people with this message. That's my why. If that resonates with you, stick around. 'cause it's only gonna get better.
Matt Stone: Alright, let's talk about what's to come. Now this is really exciting because of course, as you know, we've already been putting out, uh. You know, episodes of these pre-launch conversations and I have a bunch more that are either already shot but not edited yet or going to be shot. So we've got, I would say 10 or 12 more of those conversations either shot or planned, but we're gonna be adding soon another layer of a style of show to this to add to the one-on-ones. And we're going to be doing panel discussions next, and they're going to be around specific topics. And I'm really excited about this because we'll get into specific topics like how to [00:09:00] sell, in an age of ai. We're bringing in a diverse cast of characters to talk about these issues. And being in the New York City area, we have access to so many creative people and people in all areas of finance and media and and Broadway producers, and you name it, they're all here and we're gonna leverage this location to bring people together to talk about the stuff that we all have in common in our relative businesses. So for people who are wanting to sell, wanting to market, wanting to build great teams, wanting to personally grow in their own ability to connect and communicate, there's gonna be a buffet of information and discussion that's gonna be highly engaging.
Matt Stone: I'm deciding on the next three panel discussion topics. Then I'll be assembling the panels and we'll shoot those videos and, we'll start adding that to our pre-launch mix and we'll be seeking more feedback about that. Uh, secondly, I'm really excited to let you know that I've partnered with a recording [00:10:00] studio in Times Square.
Matt Stone: Talk about a location, Chris Colbert, the CEO of Podstream Studios in Times Square, and I have been collaborating and talking about the future and how we're gonna bring this show into the studio so that we'll not only have remote, you know, recordings, but we're gonna be able to record in person, in studio and we're also going to, of course, be doing things on the street, think on the street, uh, interviews and on location shoots and things like that. So we're gonna bring more locations and more comedy ultimately to it as well. So stick around for that in the next. Two to three months, we're gonna be layering in more different styles and we're gonna put it all together into one great show. .
Matt Stone: So, new styles, new locations, new partnerships with, uh, studios, and we will be raising funds, we'll be raising capital so that we can produce this show to the quality that I think you deserve and that I [00:11:00] certainly want. Uh, and so we'll be starting probably some kind of Kickstarter campaign or some method to allow people to, to invest in the show.
Matt Stone: Uh, so when we say you're really helping to build this show, you really are, and you'll have a chance to do that as well. And of course, we'll be looking for our initial corporate sponsors who can, be a part of our launching the show. So that is something that we will be announcing in the coming weeks as well.
Matt Stone: Uh, but mostly I just wanna say thank you. Thank you for being a part of this journey and, uh, I am dedicated to making a show like no other has ever been made, making the most entertaining and actionable business oriented show that's ever been produced. And I know that we can do it together. So with that, I want to wish you, if you're in the US or you're an American abroad, very happy Thanksgiving.
Matt Stone: Whatever you celebrate, wherever you are, we celebrate with you. We'll put out another episode next week. Have a great [00:12:00] rest of your week and a great weekend, and we'll check back with you soon.
