Southeastern's 112 strong fleet of class 375 trains has received a series of upgrades and improvements, which will provide a better passenger experience on a number of routes. The trains which operate on Southeastern's route serving East Sussex, Kent, and Mainline London stations, have received at seat power sockets, including USB points and new LED lighting. The energy efficient lighting will produce the same level of light in carriages while using up to 75% less energy, further reducing the impact on the environment of Southeastern's all electric train fleet. Alstom have entered into a binding agreement with Norebrems AG to sell its North American conventional signaling business for a purchase price of around €630,000,000 That's £543,000,000 The transaction is part of Alstom's comprehensive company action plan aimed at reinforcing its leadership position in the rail industry.

Alstom will continue to serve the North American signaling market on different segments, notably with the communications based train control and European train control system solutions. And over the early May bank holiday weekends, there will be a number of planned upgrades and routine maintenance to the railway across South London, Kent, and Sussex. Network Rail will carry out preparatory work in relation to the Victoria resingling program, as well as vegetation clearance, rail and structure inspections, embankment works, and routine track maintenance.
