[00:00:00] [00:01:00] [00:02:00] [00:03:00] [00:04:00] Hello, everyone, and welcome to a new season of Tabletop Travel Agency. Uh, tonight we will be traveling to a [00:05:00] mystical realm known as Southern Florida. Um, but for real, our game this season is the Fallout 2D20 system. I am super excited to give this a go. Uh, but before we do that, let me introduce everybody, uh, if we haven't met.
Hi, I'm Val. I use any pronouns. I'm gonna toss it over to our players. Give us your name, your pronouns, your character, and their pronouns. Uh, my name is, my name is David, uh, he/they, and I am playing, uh, Paladin Jerry, he/him.
Hi, my name is N or Nate, depending on who you are. Um, my pronouns are they/them. I'm playing a character known as Decker Lawton, The Used. Um, and yeah, very excited to play. What are their pronouns? Oh, their pronouns are they/them as well. Hi, I'm Ryan, he/him, and I will be [00:06:00] playing Travis Two, also he/him Hello, my name is Rachel, uh, her- she, and I am playing Charlie Foxtrot, him, he.
Uh, there we go. Awesome. All right. War. War, no, no, I'm not doing that. Uh, but- War not changed. War not changed. War bad. But for real, um, it is kind of just another day in the life for you all, whatever that life may be, here in the irradiated remains of Southern Florida. Life out here, like in most of the wasteland, is brutal, unforgiving, and usually brings you on strange twists and turns just in search of sort of the next place to rest your head.
Your most recent twist has turned you to Everglade City, uh, a place that is less part city and much more parts Everglade. It's a small outpost that provides relative respite from the irradiated waters, the creatures that prowl them, and the raiders that stalk them. This [00:07:00] respite is much needed for most of you after a recent run-in with the local raider group left you kind of out of sorts.
Uh, you've been here for a bit. In return for giving you a quietish spot to let your wounds heal and your bones set, you've mostly been doing odd work around the settlement. For the most part, it's been relatively calm. Uh, however, the past few days, all of you have been receiving cryptic messages. Uh, specifically, these come in the form of postcards.
These postcards are pre-war, sporting images of the, uh, famed Millennium Park, the remains of which lie up north in Arcadia. Um, Charlie, you woke up this morning with yet another one of these under your pillow. Um, the front, sort of like a yellowed, again, these are old- Mm ... hundreds of years old, uh, sports a picture of the main sort of drag of Millennium Park.
You know, you've got all the features of the amusement park, [00:08:00] and then drawn in front of it, waving cheerily, is their beloved mascot, Armadillo Art. Um, if you flip the postcard over, it simply says, handwritten, "Wish you were here." No, like, signature, no nothing. This is probably about, like, the third one of these you've received every morning for three mornings.
Uh, so it's getting a little creepy now. This is ridiculous. They don't wish I was there. I don't wanna go there. God, I don't understand this. I throw it in the garbage. I've been throwing the rest of them. Um, yeah, I- There's just a pile of them- There's just like three of them- ... that's all I've been throwing out
crumpled up in a pile. Uh, yeah, you've been staying, I think, with sort of the town's farmer. Uh, everyone kind of farms here, but she's got the biggest farm, so she's really held onto that farmer title. Her name is Norma. Um, she looks at you tossing that thing, and she's like, "Yeah, [00:09:00] I didn't see anyone come in.
That's, uh, that's a little weird. It's kinda concerning." Very much so. You got windows, you got doors. You're not watching any of these things? I... I mean- They come in when I'm sleeping. I mean, I fell asleep too. I do, you know. Oh, Norma. I got tired. It happens. It's okay. But hey, I like was talking to, uh, some of the folks around town.
Wayne said that there's a couple people that've been getting them too. Maybe you should talk to them. It's a widespread- All kind of driftwoods ... paper issue. Thank you. I'll, I'll check it out. Thank you. Yeah. I think Wayne's been out with a couple of them, you know, scavenging like he does. Good old Wayne. Uh, Wayne is the town's sort of best shot.
He has a little shop where he sells ammo and guns, and all the things he's shot. Um- I think- Let's see if he's got anything good. You know, he is probably not quite out yet for the morning, so you could hop across town to talk to [00:10:00] him whenever you're ready to do so. Sounds good. Um, I guess we should take a minute- Sure
to describe Mr. Charlie Foxtrot as he gets ready for the morning. You know- Sure ... turns to the mirror and it blows up your face and- And it's a beautiful, a beautiful face. Uh, Charlie Foxtrot is a ghoul. Um, a ghoul of a man who used to be a handsome man, and now he's a very handsome ghoul. Uh, he's got a little hat.
He's got, um, beautiful ghoul eyes. He's, he has, uh, I'd say, a good amount of hair for a ghoul, uh, that he keeps very, he keeps good care of. Um, he straps on his leather armor and, uh, gets, gets ready to go. He's a s- he's a simple guy, a simple, simple ghoul, ghoul guy. Yeah, so again, Everglade City, uh, kind of a misnomer.
Uh, it's a outpost, but it's got these sort of boardwalks that keep it above the water, which is [00:11:00] great. I mean, not super important to you, but the average person. Um- I love the smell of radiation in the morning. Um, it's really just sort of a collection of small... These are all post-war, like, um, kind of like a shanty town almost.
It's made of, like, scrap metal, scrap wood all put together. Um, but you've gotten a little bit of a lay of the land by now. I assume you... This probably isn't even your first time here. No. You know? Um- I do odd jobs all over the place. I'm a mercenary and I walk around and much travel, so. Um, yeah, so you head across town to, uh, Wayne's shop.
You know- Yeah ... it's kinda just his house that he happens to sell ammo out of if people pass through. Love it. Um- Enterprising individual. Yeah. As you head into his, um, shop- Uh, I think that is where we would see him getting ready for the day with his current drifters that he's been kind [00:12:00] of put in charge of.
We see Toby Two and Decker, uh, who have been- Travis ... assigned to... Hmm? Travis. Travis Two. Toby Two is my fox. Toby Two is. Toby Two. Travis Two. Sorry, my goodness. Uh, Travis Two and Decker. Uh, yeah, Wayne is the town's guy who shoots things, and you both are particularly equipped to, you know, help out the guy who shoots things.
Um, I think you've come to sort of vaguely know each other, in the fact that you go out and shoot things every so often for the past few days. You know- Yeah ... honest work. Um, but yeah, as you walk in, you see the drifters that you were told to go find that have been receiving these same postcard messages as you, as they're sort of gearing up for the day as well.
Okay. Open up the door. Morning, Wayne. Oh, and, and you guys. [00:13:00] Hello. Good morning. Uh, would you like to describe what Charlie Foxtrot sees? Uh, yeah. So Travis Two, uh, is a, uh, refurbished Mr. Handy. Uh, you know, pretty, pretty beaten up, uh, over the years. Um, definitely has, uh, had some modifications made. The, uh, flamer does not seem to be original.
Um, but yeah, got, you know, a, a little, uh, little hat on as well. Um, his own little hat. I love it. Like the hat. Um, uh, yeah, and like kind of tips the hat to you. He's like, "Hello. Before we go any further, do you have any snake skins?" Snake skin, snake skin. No, no snake skins. Sorry. You are of no interest to me.
Oh. Apologies. That's all right. I can get you some. Interest is piqued. Wonderful. Yeah, [00:14:00] so Decker is a fairly short, uh, scrawny human. Um, half of their face is shaven head, and very scarred and burned. Um, the other half of their body is properly protected, I would say. Um, very just, like, tiny frame on this person.
Um, they carry themselves as if they're very strong and powerful. Um, the way I like to picture them is, like, kind of think of, like, Tank Girl Apocalypse mixed with, like, Furiosa, and, like, that's kind of the vibe I'm going for. Um, so generic wastelander garb. They have some gang-related memorabilia on them, but they look like they've seen and been through hell.
No hat though No hat, no That's all right Yeah Gotta get something to protect you from the sun out there Um, at the moment they're just like, they have some sort of a musket or rifle that they're like w- ranking on, just like trying to, to get it to function. Um, [00:15:00] probably paying minimal attention to whoever just came in the room Yeah, I think, uh, Ween who like vaguely knows you looks up, "Oh Char- Charlie Charles Foxtrot it is.
Hello, Wayne. Well, we're about to head out, but you need something? You looking for... And he starts taking out, like- Oh ... the weird, like, things he's shot. You know I love your stuff, Wayne. He really wants you to, like, put just, like- Is that a fresh possum? Yeah, just, like, a possum on the counter. Fantastic. You know, it's in pretty good condition.
Only a few bullet holes. Oh, it's got a lot of character. Put that up on your mantle, it'd look real good. It would, it would, you know, if I was a putting down roots kinda guy. Mm. But I... Wayne, I heard that there was some people here, and I was just here to talk to them. I, I hear they've been visited by the same paper distributing nonsense I've been.
Oh, yeah, that nonsense with the postcards, you know? Nonsense with the post- the [00:16:00] United States Postal Service. Wait, you guys have been getting postcards? I was- I've been getting postcards. Uh, so have I. I'd hold it, but I threw it away. It looked like the same I've been getting. It's the Millennium Town with the little armadillo art.
Yeah. Tacky advertisements. I've already burned today's. Fantastic. Good hat and good taste. I thought I was supposed to be... And I'm just gonna, like, open up my pouch- ... and I have, like, 50 of them. Oh, my God. Just like, just like I've been keeping mine. I mean, I thought they were, like... I thought I was being paid, but they're- Are they all the same?
No, they're different. Yeah. Okay. You know, it's a lot of, like, armadillo art, his good friend Salamander Slim. Can I take a look at those? Yeah. I'm gonna pull, like, probably one of the fresher ones- Perfect ... and I'm gonna pass it over. Interesting. Note to self- I thought it was some sort of currency. I mean... But by the looks of it, you could start your own currency [00:17:00] with these.
Someone might like them. I mean, they're already filled out and whatnot, but, uh, if you're interested, uh, I think Harold's got a worker of his own who's been getting some of those. Real weird guy, but... More. This town, stranger and stranger. Um, Harold, you would all kind of know, uh, he's got a shop right next to Wayne's.
He kinda goes out and scavenges just, like, weird stuff, more in the manner of, like, old pre-war stuff to sell. So, you know, postcards, books, um, anything that's not guns. He's more like the general store kinda guy. But- What, um, what postcard did Decker hand me? Uh- What's it got on it? Uh, you know what? It's got armadillo art and Salamander Slim enjoying a cool cigarette together.
Do you mind if I keep this one? I've thrown out all of mine. I, I just... This one speaks to me. Just don't ask me for any favors later. Oh, could [00:18:00] I cash this in as a favor later? That is your favor. I ap- Appreciate it. Thank you. Pocket. I stick it in my leather pants
Yeah, I'll go down and visit, uh, some Harold. Um, and Wayne, can I have that possum? You c- you know what? Save it for me for later. All right. You know what? I'll keep it fresh for you. Oh, thank you. I'll just leave it, like, back in a box on the floor. On the floor. Uh.
If you do our head now, I mean I don't really know, just, uh- You been to Wayne's yet, you being a robot of sorts? He's got all sorts of stuff over there, Wayne. Is it possible there are snake skins? You know- Wayne is probably the one that, like, fixed you up. Not, like, great, but he's the only one in town that has...
Or, sorry, uh, Harold. Uh, Harold is the one that would have fixed you up, 'cause I think he's the only one in town that knows, like, anything about [00:19:00] machines. Mm. Uh, and it's not, like, the best repair you've had, but you're functioning. I've already been there. Oh. But you seem good. I will assist you for now. I'll take it.
See if we can get you some snake skins. All right. Yeah, you literally just kind of, like, walk to the next house down. Um, you know, similarly just wasteland-looking fellow. Um, Harold, he's, uh, an old man . Oh. Please. Strictly, strictly middle-aged. Be still, my beating heart. He's strictly middle-aged. Um, I think Harold catches your attention less than the very tall, uh, individual beside him, who is...
Uh, you can go ahead. Yeah. Uh, it's just no features. Uh- No features ... this is a, a set of, like, fairly beat up, um, T-51 power armor, [00:20:00] uh, standing in front of you. The, the Brotherhood logo welded onto the, the chest. Um, there's a, like... They have, like, a pretty prominent, like, leather belt that's, like, pretty large and, uh, connected to some kind of leash going under...
They're, like, behind a counter- ... I imagine. Yes. Like, and, and it leads somewhere you cannot see, and they, uh, look at you when you enter, and they go, "Greetings, friends." Like, I think you think he's just, like, working on a suit of power armor, which is impressive in itself, and then it, like- The, this speaks. Yeah.
"Greetings, friends. I am Sir Gary, the Brotherhood Knight. Salutations." My, you're a tall one. I get that a lot. Sir Gary. Sir Gary. You've earned that title. Yep. Yep. The, uh, the... I'm, I'm a paladin of the Brotherhood of Steel. I come from the mighty reestablished western branch of our proud brotherhood. What are you doing here?
Well, I was sadly, uh, assaulted [00:21:00] by a band of vagabonds on my, my way in, and, well, I, I... In a, in return for allowing me some respite, I have offered my services to appraise the pre-war technology you all should not be entrusted with. Interesting. Harold? "Hey, what you need?" He, like, look, he looks up from, like, I don't know.
He's, like, looking at c- just, like, a useless piece of, like, scrap tech. Yes. Uh, poking at it with, you know, screwdrivers and stuff, as if that's gonna do anything. You got a new pet power armor? Oh, yeah, this is, uh- Gary ... Paladin Gary. Okay. He knows a lot about tech. He's actually been pretty helpful. I take out the postcard out of my leather leg.
Hey, uh, Mr. Gary, uh, sir. Sir. Hmm. Uh, you s- you been getting these? He, like, reaches out and, like, waits [00:22:00] for you to put it in his hands and, like... Oh, careful with it. He kind of takes it for a minute and he goes, "Hmm. Hmm." And then he sits like this. Nope, nope, nope, that's mine. And, and, and, and then he goes, "Why, yes.
This annoying armadillo has appeared under my pillow every night- An armadillo pillow ... since I got him."
All of these again, like- Yeah ... the messages are equally cryptic. Like- Armadillo. Delicious creatures. Absolutely. "See you real soon. Wish you were here. Stop on by." You know, it's all very much like, "Come, come to Millennium Park." And none of you got... None of you have seen anyone drop these off? No. Weird question, has anyone ever wanted you guys dead?
I mean- Many people. Why do you ask? It happens. It's just, I always thought this was like a reminder, like a bad omen. Like, "Hey, we know you're there." How often do you receive bad omens? [00:23:00] Apparently a lot. A lot. Their bag's full. Hmm. Uh, but yes, I, I have been receiving the same messages you all have, and well, my interpretation was it was some hoodlum, uh, as a practical joke, leaving them under my pillows.
I didn't know if I was being paid or if it was a threat, and there was really no in between in my brain. And I'm usually not this sound a sleeper. It gets me... I don't, I don't like any part of this. Hmm. Can I have it back, though? Uh, of, of course. If, if... It's all crumpled up. Uh, are they just like postcards, or they like have our names on them?
Like, are they like- And like a bloody hand print that says, "We know." No, like, yeah. Is it like, "To Decker," or is it just a postcard? I think they would have your names on them, yeah. Oh, that's even worse then. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. No like, not who it's from, but it's to you. Yeah. To you. Is... Does it look like typed and printed, or does it look like scrawled- No, handwritten.
Okay. [00:24:00] Like perfectly average handwriting. Do you have any of them that you... Could, you... That we could see if they're all the same? I, we, could look at the backs. He, uh... He like, he goes, "Hmm." And he, he kind of leans down. And then he pulls out like a stack of like rubber banded, uh, together. I really like how I said you've been getting these for like the past three days, and you've been carefully- I'm sorry- And we all were like-
putting them under his pillow. You guys have gotten 50, I got three. And I'm just now becoming curious. Uh, okay. So I'm gonna take a look at the backs of these and see... Or does it look like it's all been written by the same person? Yeah, like- Okay ... all kind of the same handwriting. This is mental. Have you even been to Millennium Park?
No, never. Why? Gross. No. That's an interesting answer. Oddly defensive answer, if you ask me. It's like for babies. Weirdly human on that last [00:25:00] inflection. It's for babies. Little, little pissy babies. I'm not one of them. I'm a big man. No, I've, I've actually just recently got here. Yeah, no one's ever told me to go to Millennium Park, so I never decided to go to Millennium Park.
Are any of you from this area, pre-war Florida? I've been around. I've been so many places. I'm hundreds of years old. I don't know. Is it normal to receive visages of the armadillo under your sleeping situation? This is strange. Visages, presumably yes, but the armadillo is definitely a new, a new enticement in the last couple days.
I think it's 'cause it rhymes with pillow. I'm still transfixed. Uh, Harold will look up from, you know, kind of just screwing more screws into this thing to see if that helps. Yeah, you guys are the only ones that have gotten it that I've heard about. Nobody local, you know. And you haven't seen [00:26:00] anyone, Harold, late at night when you're doing your things you do?
Sleeping? No. Oh. Why is everyone sleeping in this town? You know. I have a proposed solution. Hmm. So for reasons, I'm aware, uh, the, these come from the gift shop at Millennium Park. If we burn down the gift shop, these messages will stop distracting us. They have to have them set to alter these things. It's their, their style.
Burning down the gift shop seems a bit hasty, but I can agree going and looking at the gift shop couldn't hurt. I mean, what if it is a trap? I mean, why else would they be like, "Hey-" Wish you were here I mean, from what I know about- Wish you were here so we could put a bullet in your head. If they wanted to put a bullet in your head, they'd do it while you were sleeping and they slip the card under.
They have been very close to us. You might be right about that. Okay, yes. Accepting.[00:27:00]
I mean, I haven't been to this place in a very long time, but these are authentic, to what I can tell. There's no reason that they could've killed us if they wanted us dead. I mean, if you guys are up for some adventures that might possibly involve snake skins, I'm down to check 'em out. I forgot to ask you.
Are you in possession of any snake skins? He goes quiet for a second, and he goes, "Not that I am aware." It's something you'd wanna make yourself aware of. Can you check? Can you check? Uh, no. What a,
what a great group. All open, honest people. Oh, yeah. Unfortunate. I will be observing you to see if you have snake skins you are unaware of. Shouldn't you be observing the ground for snakes? I do [00:28:00] that already. Oh. My apologies. Apology accepted. Well, you better be careful if you're heading to the park. Those folks inside don't let nobody in, especially with all the raiders that've been trying to, like, take it over.
Raiders are trying to take everything over all the time. Well, sure. But those weird park people, I don't know, they keep a tight lock on it. I mean, we could view this as an invitation. If it turns out it's- Maybe, maybe it's from the park people ... if it turns out it's not an invitation, we can hopefully leave, and then they won't be under my pillow.
Can you, uh, tell me more about these raiders? Uh, I- Park people. Raiders of the Lost Park. That's not very, a very powerful name, park people. The, the raider and park person are two totally different things. Yeah. No, they are. There's the park people, and then there's the raiders. Okay. Okay. Um, [00:29:00] the raiders, though.
You know, uh, I know that the Molt House have been real interested in sieging Millennium Park for a while. Okay. So that being said, my friends-
You what? Mm, mm. Mm. So, about these park people. Yeah, the park people. Yeah. The crazy park people. Yes. They're all, like, I don't know, descendants of the original park people or whatever, and they keep it protected from everyone. You're, you're talking about them as if they're goblins from the, from the ground.
What- Well, they are. They're, they're... Yeah. Are they not human anymore? What are we- They're millennium adults. It's not, it's not pretty. They call themselves something... The Infinites? Oi. Real into- Infinites. Part of me googling, "Are goblins in Fallout?" God, but that's delicious. [00:30:00] Yeah, I don't know. Sometimes we get a few of them down this way, but they mostly keep to themselves.
Big into that Ollie millennium guy and all his stuff. They keep a real tight lock on it all.
I have no opinions on him Are there, uh, you guys that have been there before, how much, how long of a travel is it? I'd know. How long is it? Uh, you're kind of in, like, southern-y Florida. It's kind of central-y Florida, I believe Arcadia is. Um, it would take a little bit. You would probably want to, if you were going, say, make a pit stop- Yeah
say maybe, like, where your friends hang out. Yeah. They probably have a nice little outpost about halfway. Okay. I know how to get there. Take a couple days, but we can, we can make it. I know, I know this area very well, and I have some friends up that way. We can stop [00:31:00] and don't have to trudge through the night, though I know that wouldn't bother some of our companions, but, you know, I still need to sleep.
If we wanna go, I, um, I don't want these to keep showing up as much as you may wanna turn them into currency This course of action should work I can lead you to all the snakiest parts We will do this The snakiest parts. Awesome. All right, um, so we're about to travel. This is kind of a more intense mechanic we get into- Ooh
right off the bat- How exciting ... but you do have to survive if you're out in the wasteland. I can survive Um, specifically, you need to eat, you need to drink, you need to sleep. Okay Um, so you need to have food on you- Okay ... preferably not irradiated, but, you know. Hey. Same thing, you need to have- Potato, irradiated potato
you need to [00:32:00] have liquids on you, preferably not irradiated. Um, I think, yeah, so there's some charts we could get into if we want to. They get a little, like, nitty-gritty, but essentially, you gotta keep eating food about every, like, four to eight hours or so, or else you will- Some people need to do that I find that's true.
You will start getting fatigued. Uh, you need to drink every few hours, or you will get fatigued, and you need to sleep once a day, preferably somewhere reasonable. Okay Um, so if you're about to head out for the day, you probably want to get some food. Yeah Um, whether you want to try to scavenge some or go talk to, you know- I wanna talk to Norma
the guy who shoots things. I wanna talk to Norma. Oh, yeah. You can definitely talk to Norma She's a farmer. There are two and a half pages of food. Sure are. All with different abilities. And Wayne's saving that possum for me for later, so I'm gonna- Yeah ... take that with me. No, for sure. Um... [00:33:00] How much does a possum weigh?
I'll stick it on my character sheet. There's this food item called potted meat. Yes, there is potted meat. Um, let's see. I need to find something. Possumed meat. Possum, I
think I would call, uh, possum squirrel bits. Yeah. That's probably the- That's what I was thinking ... the line of closest fit. Possum bits. Uh, yeah. So sq- Impossumble burgers. No? There's something
there. Wait, let's not- There's something there. You're, you're getting there. You're getting there. But it is, you will need to roll a damage die if you eat it, 'cause it is irradiated. I am a ghoul. Yeah, you would- Would I still get damage? No, it'd be good for you. Oh, yummy. It's a healthy treat. It's a healthy treat.
No one else eat these, it'll hurt you. Um- But Norma's a farmer, so she m- uh, might have some non-irradiated food and things. Yes. Uh, carrots, corn. Carrots and corn. Uh, it just says kato, which I assume- Oh, wait, katos. It's a cross between a tomato and a potato. [00:34:00] Ah, of course. And tobacco is tomacco, which is why- Tomacco.
So yeah, um, I believe you all should have some caps on you. Yes. Um, if we're looking- I don't remember how many ... in the book, we're on page 149 and on for the two and a half pages of food. Um- But we might wanna pick up some food. Yes. I will assume that you guys have access to most of these, like, vegetable-based things, um, because you have access to Norma for the prices listed, and you can kinda work that out.
You've got some possum bits- I've got some possum ... squirrel bits, if you will. Yep. Um, if there's anything else you want, I'm sure that Harold has some, like, random things. A sweet roll perhaps. A sweet roll. I'll take, I'll, I'll, because I can help get rid of it, I'll focus on getting irradiated [00:35:00] food. Oh, these all have descriptions too.
Wow, this really gets into it. And then same thing if we go to page 160, there's beverages. Um, I think you would be a little hard up to find purified water around here. Probably. But aside from that, you know, you've got vodka, you've got blood pack. Ooh. You've got dirty water. I'll take some dirty water- Uh-
'cause I can drink that. I know you're- And that's just irradiated water. Yeah. Okay. Um- I'll take the dirty water. And I'm sure that, like, kinda sitting around the shop, Harold has a couple, like, Nuka-Colas, you know. Um, I'm going to purchase, uh, if one's available, a Nuka-Cola and a vodka. Sure. And, um, I might grab- Might look at food.
Look at food ... would we happen to have iguana on a stick? Um, I'm gonna assume- We are in Florida ... that the scavenger- Ooh ... I'm sure. That's gonna be just, like- I'll take an iguana on a stick ... 33. That [00:36:00] might be too much money. Iguana bits I guess I'll settle for. Yeah, the stick costs extra. Yeah, that's... You can put it on your own stick.
Iguana bits are irradiated, but iguana on a stick is not? Question mark. Question mark. You know. Sure, yeah. You know. I guess the stick really, uh- Yeah ... It's a purifying stick ... purifies it. Inventory, 'cause I should have 50 caps, right? Yeah, whatever you started with in your
little pack. Oh, man. I don't think I wrote anything down. Yes. You definitely still owe the local hero- healer a little bit of money, but that's pretty beside the point. We'll come back. Yeah, we will. Right. Yeah. You only owe me money. No one else. No. Cool. But yeah, that is, um, food. You'll probably want a little bit, 'cause you're gonna be out for at least a day, and
according to the rules, you should probably eat at least three pieces of food, I think, to not get hungry. [00:37:00] Okay. Okay. I'm gonna assume that the possum, since it was a whole possum- Do they have rabbit roast meat? ... two possum bits. And I'll get some water
I think you would be more likely to find Meyer than me Really? Yeah. Hmm. We are in a wetland area It's moist out there. It's pretty moist out here. Pretty damp. How about mole rats? I guess. I don't know if this is really the native environment for them, but- Well, you said he had possums ... yeah. Yeah. I, I was just substituting mole rat for possums, because that feels like weight-wise very similar.
Oh my God, here we go. Well, no, think about it. Mole rat, this big. Possum's about this big. Possum's about this big. Possum about this big. Possum's this big. Possum about this big. About this. Yeah, but squirrel and possum aren't big. Thigh wise. How big do you think a squirrel is? Get a bottle of vodka- Thigh wise
and a can of Coke- [00:38:00] And get out there. Uh- And go kill your own possums. Yeah, I guess. What's the cheapest thing we got here? That's all I'm trying to figure out. Uh, probably just, like, carrot. Carrot? Carrot. It costs three. All right. Uh, I g- A little irradiated, but you know. I go over. Carrot, corn, all that sort of thing.
I, uh, I reach into my pocket. I do not have many caps on me. I reach into my other pocket and I go- Do you have pockets on the power armor? Uh, uh. I reach in my inventory. Yeah. I pull out my, I pull out my Pip-Boy. It goes like this. There's an animation- Yeah, yeah ... and you hear the whole, uh... Um, I, I take out a, a thing of brass knuckles that comes with one of my perks- Mm-hmm
and I put them on the counter and I go, "This for three carrots." Uh, ooh, do we... I guess we can make a skill check to see how well this negotiation goes. Oh. Bartering, I love it. So- Fun ... skill [00:39:00] tests. Um, this game has a pretty unique system for how rolls work. Uh, it's called Fallout 2D20 because we use two D20s, if not more.
Um- What? Sorry, I'm vamping for time as I find this page that I had ready. Um, so all of our players have their attributes. Those are your special, if you're familiar with the game. Um, beyond that, they have skills that are based on those specials. When we make a skill roll, we pick an attribute and a skill.
So we are trying to barter with someone, which is a charisma-based skill. Um, I think that it makes sense that this is also a charisma-based check, but if you have an argument for a different core, uh, ability you're using here- I don't, my charisma's just bad and I'd like you- Correct ... not to set this as the vibe going in, but you know.
I guess you could use, like, a strength to use your big scary Brotherhood of [00:40:00] Steel vibes. Okay. Very strong. That's a perk, though. Okay. That is a perk. Yeah. That is a specific perk. Dang. I can go- You can- I can just roll a charisma check ... all right, so charisma- I will fail ... plus barter. Now, uh, we have to check the difficulty.
The average difficulty for a simple thing is one. I would say you are making a pretty cut and dry barter. This is a difficulty one check. Um, before you roll- Uh, typically you roll 2 D20s. If you had action points, which you don't 'cause, you know, we just started, you could spend them to buy more if you felt this was going to be particularly difficult for you.
But you are rolling 2 D20s. Your target is below your charisma plus barter. What is that number? Four. That's a four. Oh my God. Oh, Lord. Okay, so you need to roll below a four on this
That's a three. Woo. Yeah. All right. Cool. Yeah. [00:41:00] So, uh, we count up your successes. Thank you, Todd Howard. Difficulty was one, you had one success. Uh, that succeeds. If you had extra successes, that would convert into action points, but we are just scraping by on this check. Uh, Norma, the local farmer, she will kind of just nod, a sort of non-committal like, "Yeah," of agreement, and pop three carrots on the counter for you.
Scooping up the brass knuckles and kind of looking them over as she does. You are now the proud owner of three, three carrots. Oh, yeah, they, they don't know what happens after I step out of the counter. Uh, th- 'cause are we in a different place now? Yes. Yes. Sorry. Yeah, so when Gary, like, opens the door, he kind of...
The leash kind of tugs along, and you watch as behind him a death claw kind of like steps up on its two legs and is attached by the neck to his belt. Uh, and like muzzled. [00:42:00] It's got like, you know, some leather armor on it, and it's kind of got a, like a, a sheet over it, but yeah. A sheet over it? Like, a red, like, kind of a...
Like, something to cover it up. Yeah. Um, death claws are pretty formidable foes. Yeah. Uh- They're horrifying ... I think most of you typically would go the other way if you saw one. So yeah, as, uh- May I react to this? Yes, of course. Son of a bitch. What
the heck is that? Oh, this? And he, and he looks and he goes back, "This is my dog." Okay. Travis levels his pistol at the - Oh ... death claw. He goes, "Uh, a wild animal appears to be following you. I can take care of it- Not the dog ... in exchange for bits or snake skins." I look at him, I go, "Dog." The thing doesn't seem to be, you know- Hey, so I'm very excited to go to this park, this park.
We're gonna have a great time[00:43:00]
You've trained a death claw? That- Is that what a greeter is? They trained a dog. I- Dog. You trained a d- dog? I, I thought it was like a- Dog ... I thought it was kind of like a, like a chocolate lab. Mix maybe? Yeah. Yeah. It's, it precisely, uh, it's a super mutt per se. Yeah. Understood. Yeah. I have reclassified your pet.
Make sure that you only reclassify that thing 'cause I, uh, yeah. Yes. That thing- Okay ... has been classified as harmless. Oh. Uh, okay. What is your dog's name? It's a dog, it doesn't have a name. Interesting. Interesting. Pay it no mind. It, the dog will not matter. I won't pay it any mind at all. What are we gonna feed the dog?
It- Carrots ... figures it out. Okay. The dog will figure it out. Mm-hmm. You're like the Squeaky in the Power Rangers, like, it's fine. Reeh, reeh. Exactly. [00:44:00] Okay. Anyone have some WD-40? Harold. Is that in gear? Hold on, there's so much. Read, read all the gear. Um, I'm not looking into that. I'm sure there's something in here that's like grease.
Um, anyway. Yeah, so once you've gathered your things you need to survive, is there any other- How'd my beverage end up over here? That's on you, dog. Any other sort of things you need to do before you venture out into the wasteland? Uh, no, I, I don't, I don't have much belongings I don't think, so I, I, I, I said say goodbye to Norma and Wayne and Harold and be like, "See you next time I need patching up."
We'll see you around. Don't get too beat up. We could use your help around the farm. Always, Norma
Yeah, so you are just kind of headed northward. You know the way well enough. [00:45:00] Mm-hmm. Um, so I assume, Charlie, you're sort of leading the charge here, unless someone else is taking up- Yeah, no, I'm, I'm showing them all the spots. All the spots. And that's another tree. Look at 'em go. Look at 'em grow. We're gonna stay on the path, though.
Yeah, no, I think there's a lot of these sort of little, like, walkways that have been built. Eventually they'll sort of peter off, but you don't really wanna be walking through the Everglades- No ... uh, normally, in normal life. Uh, especially not here, where it's all full of radiation and irradiated things. Um-
So, uh, you are headed sort of to a nice stopping point between Arcadia and Everglade City. I don't think this is even really, like, a named outpost so much as just, like, you know your friends, your group, they have a, um, [00:46:00] just, like, a little, like, place they rest their heads in that area. Mm-hmm. Quiet enough, um, out of the way of sort of the hustle and bustle of Everglade life.
Oh. Um, dry enough that the raiders don't come through on their fan boats or whatever, you know. Um- So we're gonna hit this place in and out, right? These are my friends. These are- ... these are good people. We don't need to hit anything. We can sit here. We can eat our possum bits, and we can take a rest. And the dog, uh, probably should stay outside, right?
It's an outside dog. Nope. Oh. Inside dog. It's, it doesn't, it seem, uh, my, this place is quite small. It's for human si- He- Like, it's a- He looks at the death claw, and then looks back to you and goes You want me to leave my dog unattended? Oh, no. No, I wouldn't dream of it. I, uh, I think maybe- Wonderful. And he walks past you.
Oh, boy. All right, I get how you're playing it. All right, [00:47:00] so I get in after. Okay. All right I need to remember the names of my friends. Oh, they're all s- um- They're all there, all your friends. All my friends. Friends. I've got so many friends. Yeah, I assume- I'm your friend. Uh, yes you are, Travis. Do you have other friends before me?
Well, they'll be your friends too. It's all right. Barbara Ann. You home? I think it's gonna take you about a day to get there, so- Well, you're not there yet. Hold on ... are you shouting into the wild . I thought I was here. Sorry. Yeah, no, about- I wasn't sure- I don't know- How fast we walk. Pay me no mind. It is...
We're still waiting for that page, Rachel, keep aiming, keep aiming. No. We haven't left yet. I was going to say, I don't know
about how long two days of walking is in Florida- Oh, okay ... but that's how far you are from Millennium Park. Oh, oh, yeah. Two days of walking. That makes s- that makes sense, yeah. Um, so this is a nice point to stop, not have to sleep in the middle of the [00:48:00] Everglades, catch up with all your good pals. Right. Um, I'm trying to see if there's, like, something about getting irradiated in the wild.
There, there's gotta be. I wanna see if you guys are getting- Don't step in the water. Well, you really just didn't come back from that. Yeah, thanks. Thanks. Don't worry, I'm perfectly fine. It's um- I'm su- I'm sure. I am also shielded. I... That's why I was saying, it's just the- I'm, uh, the reliable- ... radiation sh- protection of the T-51 is- I am actively covering my snakeskin boots with mud
Your what-
skin boots? Check, check. Whoa, whoa. Everybody settle down. Um- They need boots. For war purposes, sure, I have snakeskin boots. You just haven't noticed yet. I imagine you are a little slowed down by, uh- Yeah ... Gerald here. Yeah. Um, Gerald. Gary, yes. Gary. Uh, this is not a very, uh, mobile piece of equipment, so you're sort of just like- Not at all
zoom, [00:49:00] zoom- Yeah, exactly ... zoom. This is gonna take a while. I think it's worth it. Right? You know, the sights, the smells. There's lots of smells. I mean, it would be faster if we left him behind. It would, but we- No one's gonna m- We formed a group. We formed a group, and we're gonna stick around with the dog and- The dog
and, and the you. No one's gonna mess with us. Very true. We- Oh, don't worry, the irradiated air- ... can mess with others ... only bothers you during combat. Oh, perfect. Wonderful. Good. Yes. The benefits of your existence. Three of you. So when the raiders inevitably come get us- ... then our lungs start burning. But yeah, I think as you're sort of trudging along with Gary here, um-
Anyone and or everyone can make me a perception plus survival. Okey doke. I'm so good at that. Do we, do we [00:50:00] roll, we roll a D20 for that? Two D20s. Two D20s for that. You're gonna add your perception and survival together- Okay ... and you're going to try to roll below that. And don't roll a nat 20, it's bad. Ooh.
Oh, no. It's a seven. Great. So that's a seven. I- So I need a- I did do that thing, but I also- All right. I also rolled a nat 20- Ah ... but also a five, which is under my score So that's two complications on the board. Um, we could- Do you wanna leave it? Well, it's too late for that. Uh- It's too late for that. We'll do that later.
I got under it, a four. Cool. I got a pair. That doesn't mean anything- Also ... but I, I like the thought. Did anyone get more than one success? Oh, no. And still no action points amongst you. No. So that's two complications. Uh, nat 20 is bad in this game. There is this concept called complications. Typically, they're on a 20.
If we're making a particularly difficult roll, uh, it can go anywhere between 16 to 20. Um, we have rolled two 20s. Yeah. So there is at least one complication. Um, I'm [00:51:00] gonna say one complication, and I will bank an action point for myself for later. Mm-hmm. Can someone pass me one of those bottle caps to- A red one?
Sure. Okay. Indicate that I have an action point to spend later. Yeah, you do. Action points can be spent by the GM getting up and punching the other player. Well, action. If we're really bad. But yeah, so you do see what is coming at you. Um- There's this sort of like blip in the water. Uh
Kind of as soon as you're like, "Oh, there's something in the wa-," uh, a mirelurk comes out of the water. Ugh. And I think our complication is it gets the first hit. Typically, combat starts when someone decides to hit someone. Mm. Uh, because we have two complications on the board, I don't think you have time to react before this mirelurk and its little baby hatchlings start- Ugh
coming at you. So, uh, we'll get into combat rules in a [00:52:00] minute. Before combat starts in earnest, the person who throws the first punch just gets to do that, and then we enter initiative and do all the combat steps. Um, so. Is that the mirelurk this time? Mirelurk was fighting. Is it gonna punch with their claws?
Um, it is gonna try to... I'm gonna do the big guy. The big mama mirelurk is gonna try to pinch someone. Mm. I don't know who. You don't like it- Probably someone who got a complication. Probably you, actually. You know, I don't need that action point. I know my complication. So smug. Um, it's gonna go after you with its pinchers.
Um-
Ooh, this thing does some gnarly damage. Okay. Um, that's gonna hit. It's going against its own score on this. And then it rolls a lot of dice. Oh, God, this thing's [00:53:00] big. Okay, this is fine
I need to convert these all now 'cause I don't have your fancy dice I do Uh, nothing, nothing, nothing. Geez, okay. Uh, one damage- That Pip, that-a boy ... damage and effect. So two damage and an effect triggers. I don't know that it does that
No. Cool. Well, it's a nice thought anyway. So yeah, this big old Mirelurk just jumps at Paladin Jerry. Would you like to describe what happens? I, I think it, like, comes at him and, uh, you guys watch as the suit of armor doesn't move- ... and it collapses onto it, and you watch... Have you ever seen a death in a Lego Star Wars game?
And then you watch as the muzzle and the, like, ca- or, and the leash kinda come [00:54:00] off the, the deathclaw, and a little microcontroller comes out its mouth, and it goes, "That was 200 hours of my life." And, uh, I wanna hit this thing. All right, so now we are entering combat in earnest. Uh- Yeah ... the sequence of events here is very simple.
Um, the creature that initiated combat takes an action. That was our Mirelurk. After that, initiative order is, uh, just based on your initiative score. Whoa. So you should have that on your sheet. 11. Also 11. 14. I should probably just write these down so I know them. Um, so nine was... Someone said nine? I said nine.
Uh. Nine. 11. And what did you have? 11 as well. 11. Um, I think you just decide who's gonna go first amongst you two. Okay. And then you had a- 14. [00:55:00] Oof. I don't know why I'm writing these in reverse order, but that's okay. I'll fix that in a minute. So I think, yeah, now that the Mirelurk has taken its initial turn, Travis, Travis Two, you are the first in initiative.
Two. Uh, you will take, uh, one major action and one minor action, unless you want to spend AP. You don't have AP, so uh, everyone takes a turn, and then we just do it all again. Super simple. All right. Um, I think I'm already in shooting range. Yes. I would say we are within, um- You're within close range Yeah And everyone was pretty close to you, so we're all within, we're all within close range.
We're getting cozy. Uh, we have zones of combat in this game. Uh, if I can only remember all the names of them just off the dome. There's close, there's not close. Uh, close- ... medium, long, and extreme. Um, meaning close is within [00:56:00] the same zone, medium is a zone away, long is two zones away, and extreme is anything beyond that.
Are there any negatives to attacking something with... I- I've, I've got a hunting rifle. Yes, which- Which is medium, so can I not use it close? The difficulty would just go up. That's fine. There's a little- Good to know ... conversion chart for that. Perfect. All right. All right. Um, so I have the quick draw perk.
Ooh, okay. Um, so I don't need to use my minor action to draw my weapon. Nice. Uh, so I'm gonna use my minor action to aim the weapon. All right, yeah. When you aim, you get a better score if it hits, right? I can, uh- Or you pick where you're shooting ... I can re-roll one of the die on- Got you ... the first attack roll.
Okay. Um, and so then- Got you ... I'm going to shoot with my 10 millimeter auto pistol.
All right, so you should have a target number you need to roll. Yes, I have a target number of 12. All right.[00:57:00]
All right. Uh, I think this is, uh, four successes, 'cause it's my tag skill and both of them rolled under. Yes. Okay. So, um-
You just generate some... Let me actually read how an attack works before I start making bold claims. So, uh, choose weapon and target. We did that. Attempt a test. We did that. Uh, the difficulty, which weapon were you using? Uh, 10 millimeter auto pistol. Does that have a close range, or- Yes ... okay. So that is, uh, difficulty one.
Um, you've generated four successes. Um, backing up, technically we should've done this before, are you just hitting it wherever? Um, yes. Okay, cool. So you're gonna roll the funny D20 that has, uh, hit locations on it now to figure out where it hits. You're also gonna grab three action points for that. All right[00:58:00]
Uh, so I think it was right leg Right leg Yes Cool. Um, so that would be its right hind leg, 'cause it's a- It's a beast ... sort of like a quadruped. That's the closest thing we're gonna get. Um, and for that hits, you are gonna roll your damage dice now. All right.
I'm sorry, that should have been two
Nope, that's three action points for that one. I lied. Okay Um, so then a damage dice Yep. You're just gonna roll the amount it says and then count up the amount of damage. Uh, if it's got the little Pip-Boy on it, it's one damage plus a damage effect triggers if you have a damage effect on that weapon. So it's three.[00:59:00]
Um, I got the two hit and then the two Pip-Boy. Okay. So, uh, a damage effect triggers. I don't remember if you do it more than once if you have more than one different- Oh, I actually have no effects ... Okay. So nothing else. Cool. Um-
So that is four damage going at this thing. Dang, that was, uh, almost a critical hit. Ooh. If you do more than five damage, it takes an injury. But instead it just takes 10 damage, so, or
All right. Uh, that was your turn. It is now the Mama Mirelurk's turn. Oh, nope. Um, I think she's a little confused that there's just, uh, this guy just exploded.
It's just gonna go for you 'cause you're closest by. Sorry. Sorry, dude No, it's fine. [01:00:00] Um, I'm just gonna try to use her pinchers
Gonna be a hit
A lot of, whole lot of nothing. Um, two And a boy ... three damage Three damage Three damage Um, the damage resistance, does that subtract from it or- Um, yeah, this is physical damage, so you would subtract- So then nothing. So I do nothing. Cool. Yeah, you're, you're vibing, I guess. Yeah. Cool. Awesome. Um, yeah, damage resistance, some of you have them.
Mm-hmm. Um, I should in theory state the type of damage, which I didn't do, but then you can subtract your damage resistance from it. Cool. Uh, I think that's all she's gonna do[01:01:00]
It is Decker's turn Sweet. Um, so I will draw my laser musket, and then I will... I can draw and shoot in the same turn, correct? My minor action would be drawing my- Yes Yeah. Yeah, so I will draw my laser musket, and I will attack with my laser musket Hmm. No. The damage. Yeah, so it's just the 2D 20 and I'm trying to get below, uh- Below the score that your, your weapon has
my weapon has. That, yeah The laser musket. The target number, the TN. The TN. Oh
Or the, I'm looking at damage rating, damage effects, damage type, fire rate, range. That's what I'm looking at. Well, is it, what type of gun is it? Is it a big gun? It's [01:02:00] a, it's an energy weapon. Oh, energy weapon. So that would be your energy weapon target number. Okay. Okay
Which is awful. Great. Oh yeah, nothing special happens if you don't have a damage effect. Yeah. You're just I got two, four, so I make it. Cool. Yeah. Uh, this thing... You're hitting the big one? Big boy, yep. Um, okay. Do you have a tag skill in the weapon you're using at all? A tag skill? Like- It might have a little X next to it.
No. Okay, cool. Uh, you get one action point from that though. Sweet, thank you.
You can roll your damage My damage, uh- Oh, and I guess hit location. Yeah. Should be doing that. Hit location and then- Hit location and damage ... I got maybe five of these guys. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, you might- I, uh- ... crit or something I don't get to use the gun again, though, from my understanding. I have to, like, fully reload the thing.
Does it only have one shot? [01:03:00] Yeah. Dang. Its fire rate is zero. Okay. Um, and then I used the full energy cell on it, and I only have- Yeah ... five of those, 'cause it's all I was able to afford. So Yeah. All right. Um, so the target is the torso. Okay. And the hits, I got, uh, seven hits and one boy. So that's- Um- The boy counts as a hit.
Yeah. Boy plus- Is there an effect on that weapon? ... is piercing. Okay. So it ignores one of the creature's resistances. I don't think matters, but... Oh, wait. No, it does actually. She's damage resistant in the torso. Um, so that's helpful. So seven damage, ignoring one- Yeah ... resistance. This is exceptionally basic math, but it's, like, two steps.
It's really getting to me. Um, okay. Awesome. She looks, [01:04:00] uh, pretty beat up. All right. Pretty easy, just a straight blast to the chest. Just blast it. Yeah. Um, okay. All right. So it's my turn or are they going again? Um- I have no ... yes, your turn. Yeah, 11 again. Yeah. I think I'm next. We both have 11. Oh, for those of you that don't know what a Mirelurk is, it's just kinda like a big ugly horseshoe crab.
It's a crab. Yeah. Big old crab. She's got two little babies behind her, which- Uh, I've got a tire iron. Yeah. And I'm gonna, I'm gonna whack it with a tire iron. Yeah, go for it. Um-
So I'm, I'm, I'm sorry, I'm looking to roll below my, the target number of my tire iron? Uh, yes. Oh, yes. Okay. I have done so. Cool. That- I've rolled a seven. That'll work. Do you have a tag skill with whatever the tire iron uses? Yes. It's, uh, my, uh, the, the, the melee weapon. Cool. So that would [01:05:00] generate an action point.
Oh, perfect. I'll take one of them. Let's look at defenses. Can I have the Pip-Boy dice? Yes. Sorry about that. No, it's fine. I just need three of them. And then the hit location as well. Oh, right. Can I have the hit location dice? Oh. Oh. Actually- No? You can go ahead and do that. Okay. I just forgot to do a thing.
I'm gonna hit them also in the torso. Cool. What I was gonna say is because of the amount of damage that ended to her, she is injured in the torso. Perfect. Um- I'm gonna also injure her in the torso. Oh, boy.
Perhaps. Uh, there's the two of these- Yep, that's two damage ... and then one of these. That is three damage in total. And then, uh, the leg. That's nothing. Uh, nothing. Uh, well, uh, you try to injure her in the torso. I attempted to. She is a carapaceous creature. She is. Uh- Quite carapaceous. You- God. Your tire iron doesn't even, like, leave a dent- Ugh
in her carapace. It's all right. [01:06:00] Um, but you tried. I say, "Whack," when I do it, just 'cause it's- It kinda just goes like, "Fung." Ah. Ah. All right. Um, I think that's your turn, 'cause you would've used a minor action to draw your tire iron. Yep, exactly. Uh, uh, Dog. It's your turn. Uh, I, yeah. Uh, so I'm gonna use Pain Train to try to knock it.
What is... So, uh- Sorry? Pain Train is a perk- Of course ... given to power armor users and mutants. Okay. Sure. Um, so, uh, in return for, like, my movement, I, um... What is it? I roll a strength and an athletics check, or a strength plus athletic test with a difficulty of two. On success, they take my unarmed damage and they're knocked prone.
Okay.
Choo-choo. So that's an eight and a 16, uh, b- Well, you can ... my [01:07:00] strength plus my athletics would be... I can't re-roll either of these dice, can I? No. Do you have an attribute? Unless you, y- you know. I, I don't. Not yet. Kind of been having a rough day. I can't use luck, can I? Damn. Um, I think you can use luck. I was gonna say, isn't it luck, like I get five and then I can re-roll a die- Luck
in regards to luck point? That's another mechanic in this game. Mm-hmm. Much like in Fallout, you all have luck. You have a number of points equal to your luck stat. Uh, those replenish when we finish a quest. So not necessarily at the end of the session, kinda just whenever I deign to give you back your luck.
But you can do four main things with luck. You can do luck of a draw, which adds a detail to a scene. Stacked deck lets you replace a different attribute for luck in a skill test. Um, lucky timing interrupts the normal turn order to just, like, take an extra turn. Oh, sorry, no, move your turn up. Mm-hmm. And then, yes, misfortune lets you re-roll 1D20 per luck point you have.
But you have to take [01:08:00] it, whatever it is. Yeah, you gotta take it. Okay. That's ac- yeah. So my, my target number here is an 11 plus a four, so a s- a 15, and so that's a 10 and an eight. Okay. So that is two successes. So yeah, and then it takes- Uh, you generate an action point from that and- Yay ... remove a luck. Okay.
I'll take one of these bottle caps and- Heck yeah ... remove a luck point. Um, and then it takes unarmed damage and it's knocked prone, so, uh, that's my claws, so that's five. Claws. Heck yeah. There. They all dropped. Ooh, okay. Well. So that's, that's, oh, that's-
Three boys and, uh- Three boys ... three boys and- Three boys ... oh, and a shot and I have to re-roll one of them to be a 10. Uh, and then four of the, four of these. Okay. So that's seven unarmed, which I assume is physical damage, right? Uh, yeah. Um, okay. And then you get- And then- What's your effect on your claws?
Piercing [01:09:00] one. Okay. So it ignores three points of her resistance, which is most of it. Yeah, you, um, you wreck this thing. Is it dead or is it- It's dead. Oh, okay. Yay. Um, yeah, you just, like, slap it. Yeah. I, I think you guys hear, like, the death claw, like, roar after you're done, and it, like... And you guys kind of maybe, maybe parse just in reaction and it just, like, plows through this thing Cool.
Yeah, uh, so she's gone. Only her babies are left. Okay. Um, it is their turn now, and they seek vengeance
Sorry, I was just looking at... It has an ability called Little, which is fun. All right. These little guys are gonna take their turn. Um
Okay, so one's gonna hit Charlie, one's gonna try to hit [01:10:00] Travis, too
I like that it definitely hurts me
Uh, it's gonna miss Charlie- Yes ... just straight up with, um, yeah, they're both just- Yeah ... good old, they're babies. Hey. They're, like, clawing at you menacingly. It's not really doing much. Uh, with that we go back to the top of the turn order- ... with Travis too. Uh, I thought this level seven creature would be a little more intimidating for you guys.
Good to know. Um- Yeah ... how many of these babies are there? There's two babies. Two, two babies. Okay. Um- So I get in there and I start blasting. I just start blasting. Um, I actually... Is that what it's called? Um, no, it's burst. I am going to get my flamer [01:11:00] out
Um, and try and, uh, light them on fire. Ooh. Or at least, you know, make them feel fire. They do look nice. You're so ridiculous. Um... What type of damage is fire damage? Is that its own thing? Um, it is considered energy. It- it's... Sure, yeah. I guess so. Um, it's not... The flamer is not under the energy weapons- Yes, but it's-
but it does energy damage. I guess that makes sense. He, he is energy. Um- And so with that, the first step Protection from radiation 'cause you're radiating right now. Oh, I like it, David. They're actually putting me down after this series. This is my last run. This is my blaze of glory. This has, like, a couple, uh- I guess, no, the qualities don't matter.
It's the effects that I care about, and I need to roll first to get [01:12:00] those Oh, sorry. Um
And so is this considered a skill check where I could spend action points? Uh- Or is that just, like, outside of combat skill checks? You can use action points for a da- uh, a nat roll, yeah. Great. I would like to do that. Sure. Um, so I'm going to spend an action point to add an extra die here. Ooh, all right.
Really going ham on these babies. Yeah. Um, so I do have a 20 on here, but- It's a complication ... um, because I have a daring nature, whenever you attempt a skill test, uh, and you buy one or more D20s by giving, uh, the game master an action point, you may re-roll one D20 on that test. Did you give me an action point?
I did. Was that not spending the ac- No. It's- You can get one specifically by s- If you don't have any a- well, I think you can do it either way. You can say, "No, Val, you can have an action point." So that's a [01:13:00] very specific contingency. Fine. It's only if you pay me. I'll take the complication. Sorry. Um, I think the complication is just a third baby comes out of the water.
Is it near the others? Uh, yes. Oh, God. Um, 'cause I did get two successes here- Okay ... um, from- Yep ... one of my dies being under. Does that let you hit more than one thing? Is that- Um- ... what you're attempting to do? Does your thing- There is, uh- Uh, so it does have spread Yes Um
Actually, it has burst and spread, which I think- Wait ... both allow me to hit additional targets. Oh, God. Yeah, just babies everywhere. Um, but I think this is only going to matter if I- Roll well, yeah ... roll well. Um- Well. I am [01:14:00] going to also use the extra fire rate to add some, uh, D6s to the attack to try and get that.
Great. Uh, how many successes did you have? Uh, I had two. Okay, yep. Uh, no action points from that for the babies- Okay ... 'cause they're smaller and harder to hit. Um- 'Cause they have the small ability. So I'm gonna spend two extra fuel to add, uh, some more D6s in here. Cool. Um- Um, it will cost more fuel as well if you wanna hit more targets, I believe.
Okay. Cool.
Well, I lost one to- That's what the box is for, guys. You can put a second thing in. Um- My box isn't good enough
Great. I got one One damage? One boy. I got one effect. Oh, one effect. One, yeah. Great. One [01:15:00] boy. Okay, so- One boy ... uh, you can use the attack may hit one additional target. Um, each additional target costs one additional shot. Um- So- Yeah, I guess I hit the one additional target. Yeah. How much damage are these two babies taking?
Um, I think it's just the one thing. Oh, you just got the one- I just got the one thing. Great, so they both take one damage. One damage, great. Ah. And it's like they're lightly singed. I spent so much resources to do this. I don't think they have a defense against... It was a cool thought. You just put, like, fuel pack after fuel pack into this thing.
Um, all right, they will do that. While I'm figuring that all out, it is Decker's turn. Uh, yeah, I have babies to kill, I guess. Um, bad choice of words. Um- I really only have my musket. Um- Is there, like, an assist action I can do? [01:16:00] Let's see. Rally, make a roll to add survival, but contain an AP. Ready. Are you, like, out of musket shots or- You only have the musket?
I, I... So I, I don't understand how the fire rate things work. So that's just what I did to get, like, additional shots in a round. Oh, okay. Okay. So I can fire the- So you can still do it again this time. Okay. Yeah, yeah. So I will, I'll- Yeah, you can ... use one of my remaining ammo to fire the musket again. Okay. Um, yeah, so I roll.
I get the perception plus energy weapons, right? That's my, my goal. The under that, yeah. Yeah, under that and, yeah. Okay. Sweet. So yeah, I'm rolling super low today. I love it. I got both are under, so a, a two and an eight. Cool. So that is two successes, which is what you need to kill these babies. Sweet. Go ahead and roll.
Sweet. Um, where's my boy? It's your, where'd the... Where's the fourth die? It's okay. The [01:17:00] fourth boy is missing. Oh, no. It's okay. Um, so I have... I'm just rolling hot on these guys, too. So I have a pip, I have two pip boys and then four shots hit. Cool. Um, so yeah, one of the babies is no more. One of the babies, all right.
It's a miracle. Uh- Great ... that, that's my go. That's all I can really do. All right. All right. It is a musket. Charlie. Yeah. I'll draw my hunting rifle. Okay. And I'll attempt to shoot them with my hunting rifle. Uh, y-
I have one success- All right ... with my hunting rifle. That will not hit, 'cause they're so small and so hard to
shoot. Man. Um, they s- skitter. Ah. Uh, if you want, you can use your minor action to re-roll a 1D20 from your first attack roll this turn I'll use a minor action to re-roll [01:18:00] one of my new 20s and see- We'll say you aimed it real well, yeah ... I aimed it again. I didn't. Okay. Well- Yeah, they're just so tiny. Um- Dang.
Mariliths. All right. G'Huag, it's your turn. I'm just gonna hit. Yeah. Uh, so that's a 20. Really? Oh my God. I know they're... No. Uh, and a two. It's like combat that never ends. So I, I get one hit. Cool. So you can go ahead and roll that hit while I figure out the complication, uh, for hers
So that's nothing, that's nothing, that's nothing. Uh, I got two boy, so two piercing and a, and a blam. Okay. So two boys and a blam. That is three damage, ignoring two [01:19:00] resistance. Uh, yeah. Sounds good. You shoot this thing. Yep. Or punch this thing. Yep. Claws. Sorry, you punch it. Claws. Your claws. Claw it. Um, cool
Oh, sure. What's your relationship to sort of like radiation as a concept? I'm immune to it. Great, never mind. Oh. Am I the only radiation- I'm not ... susceptible person? Oh, wait. Think so. Yeah. That's so funny, Gregory. Oh, wait, hold on Uh, I have to check something. Okay. I might have been punching under my weight- Oh
maybe. Cool. Big maybe. Uh, there's a large chance we're [01:20:00] going nowhere with this- ... so if you have another piece of paper you need to pull up that you- Pull up ... have forgotten about. Um, no, I'm looking for a complication. I'm just, like, browsing through the hazard section to see if there's anything, like, fun and interesting.
Um, yeah, I think sort of the... Yeah, no, I, I messed up. Oh, well. So I actually do eight damage in a single hit. Oh. 'Cause it's, it's- Like, eight dice? Yeah. So it's- Cool ... so the death, or so the, the, the claws that I have, the deathclaw gauntlets- So we are gonna have to upgrade everyone else's to match- Are ... the fact that you have that, for sure.
Um, what is it? Are, have a damage rating of five, and then my melee damage is, like, a plus three, which I th- Okay. Or is that on hit? I'm trying to... I'm rereading it now. No, the melee damage adds an additional die to your pool. Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Okay. Um, that's wild. Yeah. I'm reading this now. Um- How do you have a plus three melee damage?
What's giving you that? Uh, I have a [01:21:00] strength of 11. Oh. How did that happen? Because super mutants get a plus two to the maximum strength they can get. Oh, okay. Sure. David did say they were power gaming. I did it by accident, for the record. Um, okay. Yeah, s- phew. Um, but the complication, the sort of thing you're on- Mm-hmm
gives way. Oh, the o- the swamp? Yeah. But no, you're on, like, a- Oh ... this little, like, boardwalk thing almost, made of, like, metal and, like, old, you know, highway signs or whatever it may be. Mm-hmm. Um, creating a terrain issue. Um, da, da, da, da.
When you attempt to move, uh, it is, you have to spend an action point if you wanna leave this area. Don't think that does much, but it's a nice thought. It's a nice thought. Um, oh, this one's probably more [01:22:00] relevant. No, these aren't that troubling, honestly. Whatever It's a cool thought, but everyone standing on it has no effect to irradiated water, and also-
it's not moving. Uh, some real challenging times we find ourselves in. Yeah, man. Uh, is that your turn? Uh, I mean, we did just determine I have plus three dice. Oh, roll another three dice. I mean, are you sure? Yeah, go for it
Uh, that's one hit, one Pip-Boy, and then two more. So it's three damage- Yeah ... and a piercing. It's- So it's dead? It's big dead. Okay. Cool. Um, it is the last remaining hatchling's turn. Uh, it's gonna try. It's gonna try to avenge its brethren and go for, uh, you, David. Yeah, okay. No. No, no. Travis. [01:23:00] Travis two. Yeah.
It's your turn. All right. The flavor did not go as well as I'd hoped. It's always disappointing when things don't light on fire as much as you wanted them to. Um, so back to shooting things.
The D20 D20s, please Oh, it's you with the D20s Yes, the D20s Which I will roll inside the box
Um, that is two successes Hey, all right. That's what you need Um
And do I have to roll the location- Uh ... on it or? I keep forgetting. Yeah, in theory. We should probably be doing that. Great. It's the right arm. Oh, gosh. It's front leg. It has, like, six of those Um I'm gonna spend [01:24:00] the extra two ammo to, uh, add more dice to this
Make sure it gets real dead. Um Uh, that is seven damage Yeah, that baby is very dead. Nice. All right. So, all right. I've resolved the situation. You're welcome. You have, uh, completed your first combat. You have taken care of this crab and its, uh, crab babies. Um, we will get into sort of the little bit of scavenging that we can do after that, but I think this is a great time for us to go on our break.
Uh, we will be right back with more, uh, stomping through the Everglades in a little bit. Don't go anywhere. Squish.[01:25:00]
I fell in love
My new love will just be for
Hello
Total cat. I love you[01:26:00] [01:27:00] [01:28:00] [01:29:00] [01:30:00] [01:31:00] [01:32:00] [01:33:00] [01:34:00]
Fallout world, specifically beautiful southern central Florida. Um, we have got this sort of ragtag group of wastelanders together who have the common goal currently of figuring out why they keep getting weird spam mail from Millennium Park. Uh, we have started our trip up north [01:35:00] to the city of Arcadia.
Uh, on our way we encountered some, uh, spooky crabs. We have dealt with said spooky crabs, and now, uh, we can continue on our way if you wanna grab some mirelurk meat- I definitely do ... that's there. I definitely wanna grab some mirelurk meat. Cool. Um, I don't remember where that page was, but yeah, you gained, I don't know, there's three babies, one mama.
That's probably, like, that's probably, like, six mirelurk meat to go around- Wonderful ... for the class. I will happily share if anyone gets hungry. I- None for me, thanks. I'm full. I can just keep it on my person, I assume. Yeah, I think just save it for now. Oh, okay. At least try to prep it. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean- Yeah
I'm fine as it is, but, you know- ... I'd rather... It's chewy, you know? I think before you can get to the big mirelurk, like, [01:36:00] I'm, I'm going over to it. I'm just, like, I'm just, like, just clawing at it. I'm just, "Stupid fool. What are you?" Oh, well, it's done. Hey, so, I mean, the elephant in the room. What are you? The elephant in the room.
Travis, too. We have to be kind when we meet new beings. I, I- But we met him earlier. I think, I think as you guys, I, like, look up and I go like, "Oh, crap baskets. Uh-
Bark. Oh, God. Um, so
I see Hello ... he's a dog. Nope, again. This is a weapon. Yeah, so they don't usually do that. They don't usually talk
It seems like things are different now. Yeah. Uh, I, I couldn't help but notice you've done something with your hair. [01:37:00] Uh, I, I, I guess, uh... Okay, cat's out of the bag, I guess. Very much so. Yes. Yes. Yes. Okay. Um, w- uh, hi. Hello. Uh, my name's Jarrick. Is it s- is it Jarrick, uh, Jare, Z? Uh, some people call me Shaun, but that's not right.
But I'm okay with Shaun. Um- What would you like us to call you? Uh, uh, Z is fine. Okay, Z. It's, uh, are we good? Uh, y- I don't see why we wouldn't be. I like it. Um, but a- any- anyway, uh, yeah, the, the armor is not a guy. Ah, yeah. Uh, yeah, I, yeah. Yeah, we get it. That was a very, very quick... You know, it's elaborate though.
It's elaborate. It was interesting. I like- It was an interesting ruse ... I like walk over and I like look at the pieces, and they're all like... You guys can see they're all like [01:38:00] hollowed out, like th- like basically tin cans with little like servos and stuff in them, and I'm like, "And it's busted."
Well ... impressive, you know, little piece of work there, but no match for one moderately sized myolic. The tin cans I was popping around. Should we keep any of this thing? No, it's, it's all junk. It's all hollowed out. Oh, that's- Any sort of power within this power armor has been wrenched out in service of making it pilotable, I think.
You're a weapon? Whoa. Uh, dark. Don't like that. Um, not true. I'm, like, a person. Okay. Like a, like a whole person. People are weapons. Yeah. But, like, okay. I don't like the sentiment of it, though. Okay. I was built to be a weapon. Rebuilt. [01:39:00] Now you can see why the snakeskin comment made me a little- I, I do understand.
I do understand. Do you have snakeskins now? No, I'm worried you're gonna see me as something with snakeskin. But it's, it's... Well, it's, it's technically, like, I think gecko skin. Some form of- Very lizard in nature. Can it be convincingly passed off as snakeskin? I don't shed it- Nope ... so I don't imagine.
Understood. We're gonna let Z keep all their skin. Do you wanna try and find out? Whoa. I mean, I can't intervene if you guys are skinning each other. I mean... And I, I look at the Mirelurk and I go, "You can try." And I'm, I'm, I'm not trying. Okay. No. No, no, no, no. I'd rather not. I'm not one for violence. Why? Uh...
You're quite good at it. You solve so many problems. Eh, it's, it's- We- ... it's scary. And I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm a little, I'm a little jumpy. That's all. Okay. We all have our passions and we all have our interests and, you know. Exactly. I, [01:40:00] I'm like any one of you. I, I put my- I enjoy violence ... my, I put my raider armor torso and leg on one-
or arm on one leg at a time. Just like the rest of you. I, I'm a normal guy. Okay Uh, Zarek uses he, they, it pronouns. Yep. Yes. Uh, they are wearing, you know, some heavily altered clothing. Uh- Yes ... yeah, for the, for the, for the real, real ones in the audience, uh- The real ones ... Zarek is a modified, uh, form of a super mutant, like, in game mechanics, and, um, but, but in, in real lore, Zarek is an intelligent Deathclaw, which is a, a reference to Fallout 2.
Play Fallout 2. Um, actually, don't, it's terrible. But play Fallout 2. We'll go with that ringing endorsement. You know the, uh, the the very popular game, Fallout 2. The very popular game, Fallout 2. Very accessible right now. There were- [01:41:00] Very easy to find ... very, very easy to find, yeah. Very easy to... Uh, yeah, David is our resident Fallout lore person.
I'm obnoxious. A lot of us are rolling on, uh, Fallout New Vegas in a dream, not even games. Well- Um- ... it will be a little faster now. That thing was very slow. Um, you hungry? Do you want to eat a mirelurk? We can make a fire or something. I, I'll ask for it later, but yeah, yeah. Yeah. I am, I am, I am rather peckish.
All right. Do you wanna take a break, and us people with stomachs, uh, take a break? People with stomachs. Travis, you need any- I mean, I can- ... oiling for things? I... Da, da, da, da, there wa- plenty of mirelurk. I am primarily self-sufficient. Fantastic. Um, yeah, so mirelurk- Give me a second. Sorry. No, that's okay. Um, we...
Can we... Should we s- how long have we been traveling? Because I know we have to break every four hours for a snack. You don't have to. You will go from, like, s- I don't wanna get [01:42:00] hungry ... um, to get into, like, that. So there are levels of hunger. Most of them are fine until you hit the ones that start, like, actually fatiguing you.
That's- And then you need to eat more than one piece of food. You could technically go a day without eating as long as you, like, scarf a whole bunch of mirelurk meat when it's all said and done. Okay. Um, let me pull that chart up. It is in survival, if you're looking at that whole mechanic thing I did. If you're not, that's okay.
So we start at full. I'm assuming we started our day full. After an hour, you become sated. After four hours, you become peckish. After eight hours, you become hungry. And after 16 hours of being hungry, you become starving. Okay. So it takes you, like- We're probably not- ... over a day to become starving. Starving is when you start gaining fatigue.
Like- I say we eat when we're hungry. Yes. Okay. And then- So yeah, that would be about 12 hours from the start of your journey. Okay. I'd say you've probably been walking, like, I don't know, three to four. Okay. Perfect. Um- Let's just check ... [01:43:00] probably got about three to four more before you get to your friends.
Okay. Um, if there's any rousing conversation aside from bothering Zarek that you're getting up to while you're walking, please. That bothers Erica You know? Nah, I mean, I'm a ghoul. I get it, you know? I- it's... You're something. You s- people see something and they expect something, and I gotta say, you're not what I expected, but, uh, you're with us.
You're on our side. I'm, I'm with it. Why are you the way you are? Interesting. Hold- I mean, do you want the scientific answer or do you want the, the personal answer? 'Cause I don't really feel comfortable giving the second one out right now. I barely know you guys. That's- Fair enough. Okay. Do you want the first answer?
Is it interesting? Uh, I mean, kind of if you're a dork for history, but not a lot. It's a talking death claw. It's [01:44:00] going to be interesting. I, I'm more than just a talking death claw. I, I can do computers pretty well. Yeah. I, I, I know computers, uh- Yeah ... pretty smart. Computers are for nerds. Uh, I, and I, I point my- The, like, barely put together Mr.
Handy says. I, I point to the Mr. Handy that I got. Like, a plate falls off of him as he says that into the water. I go, "I, I could probably fix some of you. I'm pretty good with, with computers and robots and stuff. Um..." Now, robots, robots are cool, like me. Okay. Yeah, I think so too. If that's your, your, your, your focus, and I'm just staring at the weapon that is next to me.
I'm definitely gleaming at you grinning. Like, it's not like a- Uh, uh, uh, but yeah, no, I, I'm like a... There's, like, reasons for my existence, but, you know. Um, [01:45:00] uh, I'm, I'm from Utah. How about you guys? Utah, huh? That's far out. Florida born and raised. Are there more of you in Utah? Sure. I'd say that, probably, yeah.
Mm-hmm. Okay. Are they as smart as you in Utah? Yes. Where is Utah? What is Utah? How do I... You know how we're going up? Yes. Utah is left. Okay. Really, really left and up, but, but left. Oh, that's Mississippi. More left and up than Mississippi. I don't have that data in my maps. Where do you kinda cap out at when it comes to left?
Mississippi. Mississippi. So like, like four or five Mississippis this way, and like three Mississippis up, and you, and there's Utah[01:46:00]
He just keeps like floating away Yep. All right. Don't know, don't know what I expected. That one's on me. Um, my bad. My bad. Yeah, I don't think like you need any sort of repair check on this. This is not like a box standard- Yeah ... Mr. Handy of any sort. Um, it's, it seems a little whacked out- All right ... in your experience with these things.
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
So, uh You guys seen any cool weather lately? Uh Weather? I, I don't know. I don't normally talk to people So what is, what is, what, what is our plan with this? We're walking Is that where we're going? We're, yeah, we're heading towards my friends, their camp. That'll be, it'll be safe. There's gonna be food, more than enough.
We'll, like... The... It'll be fine. We'll explain you as well as we can. We'll explain you. [01:47:00] I'm sorry for insinuating I wanted to leave you outside when I didn't realize you were the intelligent being. It, it, it's fine. I was just really nice to be talked about. Oh, no, I don't, I don't, uh, I don't abide prejudices.
I apologize. It's, it's fine. I was cosplaying as kind of a turbo racist for a second there. I can hold you on a leash if it makes you feel more comfortable. Not at all. Where'd you get the armor? Oh, uh, well, long story. Well, no, actually it's pretty short. Um, there was this guy and he was bothering me. Uh-huh.
Oh. And I didn't kill him. He did run out of power, and, you know, I'm a pacifist by nature. I did kinda just leave. But when I came back, the armor was empty. Hey, there you go. Now, a lot of it was picked clean, but it was empty, so, [01:48:00] um, I just found a Brotherhood of Steel logo and slapped it on and yeah. You know, if you, uh, weren't a pacifist, it wouldn't have been picked clean, right?
Not only would you be, you know, you- But here's what I have for it I will get the scrap. It would not be scrap. Mm, probably would be scrap. I had to pull a lot out of it to make it work. We'll, we'll talk you out of it. It's fine. It's fine. Okay. I'm just nice to be... It's just nice to be talked to. Yeah.
You're a beautiful monstrosity. I just prefer the term beautiful. You didn't need to add the other thing onto it. You make lots of robots? Uh, no. No, I... Well, I, I did this one out of necessity. You see, you walk into a town and then you're a deathclaw, and they always go, they always go, "Ah!" And so you gotta- What else do you do?
Uh, you gotta do something about it, so, so this was more a, a necessity thing. But now I [01:49:00] have you guys, so you can be my cover. Okay. Okay. Oh boy. Like, as you're saying this, there's some other just, like, wanderers walking kinda down the path, and they see the giant death claw, and they, like- I, like, wave ... and turn around.
Oh. Think you kinda leave, they're like, "Ah." It's funny, like, everybody greets me like that. It's really weird. Don't be afraid. This is merely our dog. Merely our friend here. You do, you do know I'm not a dog, right? I don't know if we ever- That was, like, a cover ... updated his database for him. I had. So that people wouldn't kill me when I wanted food.
What would you like to be classified as? I am a death claw
New entry added. Okay. Surely this won't come back to bite us. No, never. Never. You see some snakes go by mid-conversation. I go for the snakes. Okay. Um, are you [01:50:00] just, like, shooting them? What are you doing? What is the plan here? Um- Catching them? I, I... Immediate response is try and shoot a snake. Sure, yeah, roll to shoot the snake.
I, I like it when you vacuum them up like you did. Um, that is... Uh, equal is not a success, right? Um, no, yeah, like a one is a success. Or equal- Oh, equal. Um, that's a good question. That seems like a, the most basic thing of the game that I should know, but, you know. I think equal is a success. We hear Tabletop Travel Agency- Equals or beats the difficulty of the task.
Yay. Okay. Yeah, I thought so and then you said it and I was like, "Well, now I don't know." We hear Tabletop Travel Agency- I had four successes ... We hear Tabletop Travel Agency don't read, so. I have read this and the document I wrote for this four or five times. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It's gonna leave my brain every time.
If you're DMing- Um- It was four successes? They're in trouble. Oh, my God. Um, okay, so you generate three action points from that. Um, and I [01:51:00] will say, yeah, you manage to just, like... You shoot the snake. Um, its skin is now in two pieces 'cause you did just shoot through the snake, but- ... you have a dead snake before you now.
Great. Um, yeah, I, I start skinning the pieces- Great ... available. You... Uh, snake skin for you. Great. Toss it in my bag. What's in your bag? Don't worry about it. Okay, great. Um, it does smell awful as I open this bag. Okay. Okay. So you just watched this, uh, Mr. Handy shoot skin and retrieve the skin from the snake. I mean, I guess that is on par with everything he's told you about his character as a person.
Yes. Uh, Travis, do- what's your, what's your plan with these skins, there? What skins? Okay. [01:52:00] You know- Yeah ... Travis bag of snakes, you know? Something is just dawning on me. Oh. That out of this whole group, the weirdest one here might be you. I'm, I'm- For being complacent with all of it. You see some things out on the road, okay?
You see some things and, uh- And that, that's also adding to it ... this is, um... It's all coming together. It's all coming together. Okay. A- all right
Um, I assume for the rest of your journey the conversation remains similarly tepid, unless there's anything else that you guys want to address I'd like point out random fauna and flora on the way there. Oh my God. I'm a dork. I think, uh, at some point the conversation goes to hats- Yeah ... and how I wanna make everybody hats.
So everyone should get a hat, and, uh, what kind of hat we feel would most represent ourselves. Okay. Do you [01:53:00] wanna role play that out quickly? Absolutely. Of course. So like, so if, if- Real character moment ... I mean, this is a phenomenal hat. It's, it's, it's, it's a good, it's a good hat. It's got purpose, you know?
You need, you need something to put on something else. I like my hat. You can twist it around, you can, you know, c- catch it and do one of these. What do you think? You got a, you have a fantastic head for it. I like, I l- I look at you, I like... I look at you and I, like, my head cr- I go, "No." No? You never thought about a hat?
I point to the horns on the side of my head. I know. It'd be perfect. No. Really. What, how are you gonna fit a hat- Oh, I like a challenge ... in between two football goals? What, what- I like a challenge ... or in between a football, like a, like a... What, what are they called? We could do one of those ties. Like hooks. Oh, a very tiny bowler hat.
Do one of those ties. That would make me look silly, and I'm already a rather silly creature by nature, so I don't think that would be good for me. I, I think it [01:54:00] can lean in. I, I think if, if I do a small hat- Uh-huh ... it will cause people to look down on me- ... and maybe as like a circus animal. It's impossible for people to look down on you.
You're very tall. Yeah, well Yeah. All right. All right. I'm, I'm not- No hats? ... I'm not that tall. No hats? I understand. I, you know what? How about you? It could be bigger. What about me? A hat. A hat? No, I- Have you ever... Maybe it could protect- No, but hats are not my style. Hats- The Florida sun. The Florida s- yeah.
That, that's fine. Let it, want me baked in the Florida sun. Oh. And feel the heat. That's the gateway to melanoma, my friend. What? You're one to talk. I can't get melanoma. I am a melanoma. I try and help people. Yeah. I'm, I'm pretty sure I'm fine. I'm, I'm fine. All right. All right. I don't need no stupid protection-
from a tiny little piece of leather. Protection from the sun is no joke.[01:55:00]
As you're having this conversation, I think your surroundings are slowly giving way to, like, what used to be a town at some point. It's mostly, like, you know, twisted pieces of metal and, like, some concrete now. But amidst it, there is most of a building left that looks like it was once, like, a, a barber shop, I would say.
Uh, you know, it's got the big swirly thing not swirling anymore. Um, and like- There she is. Yes, you have found your friend's lodging. Fantastic. All right. These, these are good people. I'll be fine here. Uh, hey, let's... I do, I do one of these to make my hair look nice. My ghoul hair. Take off my hat. It's important, you know.
All right. Barbara. What? Is [01:56:00] that you, Charlie? You know it is, baby. Let's go. Yeah, all right. Uh, there's a moment, a pause before kinda just, like, pushing open the door comes, uh, this individual, also very ghoulish in nature. Um, yeah, she's- A ghoul, I wanna say. She's got probably a little less hair than Charlie.
Um, a hat of her own, you know. Fantastic. Matching, perhaps. Um, just like simple outfit. Oh, you brought the... Oh. Nope, it's all right. What the... It's okay. It's fine. He's just a death claw. I, and that- It's okay. Yeah, I can see that. You're just very intimidated. That's all. Would it be less intimidating if it had a hat?
Well, that might help. Is this- See? See what I told you, Z? It would... I think it would- Is it with you? It is. This is... They are. This is Z. Hello, ma'am. My name's Eric. You can call me [01:57:00] Z. Okay. Uh, might be a little hard to get you through the door. I can wait outside if it's inconvenient. No, no. No, you're part of this group.
We'll get you in. It's just, you might have to... My, like, teeth go, like, I like, really? Yeah. You just have to duck a bit. I've never been part of a group before. It's exciting. I, yeah, come inside. Come on in. I'm not gonna do the ghoul voice. I just got over that dry cough. But it's, it's there in spirit. Ah, come in.
Oh. But yeah, um. This is Decker and Travis, too. We're heading to Millennium Land. Oh. I know. I thought you... Right, why would we go there? Didn't wanna do that, really. I don't, but I, we keep getting these. Look. Yeah, yeah. It's Salamander Sa- it's Salamander Slim- Salamander Slim ... and Harmon and the [01:58:00] Heart, and that's of no meaning to any of these people, but, uh, we've all been getting them under our pillows at night, which is, it's strange, Benz.
Is- It's weird. Yeah, this, uh- Is this salamander racist to me? Why? What, what are you talking about? You- I don't know. I guess. Are you a salamander? I'm a gecko, technically. I- Do you smoke copious amounts of cigarettes and wear a hat? Not yet, I don't. Then I don't think it's racist against you. There's not really, like, a history check in this game.
Oh, yeah. Like a social, like, know things about the world. Like, it's- I guess if you wanna know more about- I think actually I'm a chameleon. Sorry, I keep saying gecko. If you wanna know more about these fun characters, I guess that would be like a intelligence and survival. Uh, you two just know. No, I [01:59:00] mean- Yeah.
I know nothing about those. No, you don't know anything about them. But yeah- Lame ... Armadillo Art, beloved, uh, mascot of Millennium Park, and, uh, the creation of Oliver Millennium, uh, who founded Infinitainment Inc., which was a major player in the entertainment industry. Also dabbled in a whole lot of other things, 'cause he was just kind of an eclectic guy.
Um, later on, during kind of the war times, Salamander Slim was created by his son, Donnie Millennium, to raise money for the company, uh, as it was struggling due to his father's refusal to work with a lot of the other companies at the time. He was very, like... Again, he was a very, like, um, like, eccentric, that's the word I'm looking for, guy.
Didn't work well with a lot of the other, like, major players on the scene. Uh, Salamander Slim was made to push cigarettes during the war. Um, a lot of true Millennium fans don't love Salamander Slim, but some people like him. Um, he would've been made kind of during the [02:00:00] Resource Wars
I didn't know the cigarette thing. Now that I do, it does feel racist. He's got a hat. He's often smoking a cigarette in pictures and mascot appearances. Uh, and he is a very divisive figure in the Mul- Infinitainment fandom. And you could get your pictures taken with kids in them. Do kids smoke? Not yet. Uh, you got a, you got an entourage.
I do. I think it'll be- And they're heading to the park. Well, it says, "Wish you were here." I, I can't... I, I could ignore it, but they keep- Who would wish you were there? I don't want anyone wishing I was there. You know the- I'm, I'm thoroughly convinced it's a trap. There's been a lot of activity over there lately.
What do you mean? Well, Vickery[02:01:00]
is- Snakes. Sorry? Salamanders. Snakes. No. Snake activity. No, I don't believe so. Snak activity. Barely controlled lust.
I mean, he's been going at it with the Raiders Everyone know about something I can't believe he's still there. Oh, yeah. Who? Um, and you would know that kind of the Vickery fan, uh, fandom, family- Yeah ... has been a mainstay in the Infinites forever. Yeah. Like, since Infinitone. Yeah. Um, this one in particular is just sort of the most kinda out there.
He kind of has the most hostile relationship with the others in the region. He's caused a lot of, like, conflicts [02:02:00] amongst, like, the raider groups, 'cause he takes it very personally. Mm-hmm. Um, very, like, almost like a militaristic guy, which is not, like, yeah. Yeah. But yeah. And he hates us. Yeah, there's been a lot of activity over there.
You know, he's been getting kind of real aggressive with anyone that gets too close to the parks. When will they get it through their heads there's nothing there, not really. Well, they think so.
Well I mean, how would you know? I mean, I'm a ghoul. I've been around for a long time. It's, Infinitowns were everywhere and Millennium t- land was a big attraction, you know? That was where you took your family, if I had one. Which I don't. All right. Yeah, I mean, forget about the parks, there's the town under.
That's what everyone's- The town under? Yeah, the [02:03:00] Infinitown. Oh, you're not a local. No. No. They're from, uh, Ut-ah, Ma-tah? Utah. Sure. Not Me tah, but Utah. Yeah. Our tah. Yeah, that all makes sense. But there's Millennium Park, and then Ollie Millennium, Donnie Millennium, real crazy guys, they built a town under. It's kinda like a vault, but it's not.
Legally distinct. Oh, very. They were always-
Legally distinct underground dwelling at Millennium Park. That's kind of the whole conceit of it, yes. Um, but yeah, it's an Infinitown. Okay. They built it without vault tech, so there's all sorts of, like, weird tech in there that, in theory, could be looked into. Oh, so that's probably why the raiders wanna go in there.
Well, yeah. I mean, everyone wants to see what it's about. Yeah, they think they can get in [02:04:00] And they think there's all sorts of riches and all sorts of nonsense in there. Oh. They got all sorts of weird stories about Ollie, and Donnie, and the town, and all of it, and how it's gonna bring about the future or whatever.
Why would an entire cult exist to protect this place if there wasn't something important? You're right. We should probably just we should probably...
We're going anyway. We're going, so we'll find out what's up, what's, what's there. Well, be careful if you're going over there. Like I said, it's a hotspot right now. Thank you, NPC. Patrolling the nuclear- ... the Mohana- Terrible darkness today. Hope the king doesn't come out like it. Okay. I gotta do a little exposition.
Come on. Hey, you've been doing great though. Thank you. It's been great. Great Have you, you seen Penny around? Been in and out, you know. Like I said, the [02:05:00] sort of things up north of here are a little more active, so she's been staying active up there. You know, a lot of people willing to pay. There always is.
Might stop by, uh, oh, God, the General's. General Drey's. Perfect. Right outside- We should not do that ... right outside of Arcadia. Couple, you know, he's been housing a couple mercenaries and stuff, holding down the fort outside of Arcadia. I'll st- stop- She might be there ... I'll stop in and say- Uh, she's not there.
I'm- Okay. Why, why would, no. Well, I don't know. He's been housing a lot of like folks that don't wanna go in Arcadia, but wanna be near Arcadia. I'm sure, it's a wonderful place, but why would we go there? That's not where we're going. Well, if we could get mercenaries to come [02:06:00] help us with this, you know, getting into a hard-to-get-into situation
You seem opposed What if I stayed outside? Of? The, the, the away from- Okay ... the general. Mm. I think it's this general guy. I'm beginning to think it's the low rates online. Hey. Oh, my God. You know, you don't have to go anywhere you don't wanna go, but, uh, is it a dangerous thing for the rest of us?
You know, hearing a robot laugh is actually quite terrifying. It's terrible, really Okay You'll be fine. Well, that's good. Is the gig gonna be canceled on Saturday, you think, then? Oh, no. Oh, well that's good. Good. You've been [02:07:00] practicing your scales and all that. And my arpeggios. Babs and I are in a barbershop quartet.
It's, it's where we get to hang out and spend our days, you know, when we're not doing this. We call ourselves the Barbie Ghouls. Oh. We're a Barbie Ghoul in a Barbie world. There's a you. That's fun. I know music. Are you a tenor? Bass? No, uh, well, I, I, I'm, I'm really terrible at singing. I can do drums. I tried to g- I know piano- You can do drums?
and I can read sheet music, but I, I can't, I can't play 'cause- Oh my G- We've, oh, this would be fantastic. Yeah, we could use drums. Okay. Absolutely. Hey, does this- We could definitely use drums. I, so are none of us going? Are you, we just gonna stand and wait- Oh, no. The gig's on Saturday No, yeah, yeah, yeah. The gig's on Saturday.
Oh, we got time. I just- Listen, you don't get your neck snapped by the infinites, you come back, play drums. Okay. Absolutely. You know? We're, we could be a quintet. [02:08:00] Yeah, there's no rules against it. None of us have a debt. No rules when you're with the Ghouls. Mind if we eat? Because we are hungry. Oh, yeah. Let's settle down.
Fantastic. I, I'm s- I'm so confused about... I think I might have joined the wrong party here. This is- You don't wanna join the quintet? Yeah. Well, now that we've got a drummer. Yeah. I assume the other members- A barber shop quartet with a drummer ... of your quin- your quartet, now quintet, are here as well. I just didn't wanna play it for you.
That's, that's okay. There's a couple other folks hanging around. Chilling. Yeah. So this is kind of a quiet area. Nobody really has a reason to be here. It's all been pretty picked over, so you have a place to rest your head if we want to, you know, rest. Rest. I, I mean, mechanically we must. Oh my gosh, we must rest.
Okay, let me pull that up. So when we rest, we have to do that. Um, if you don't, you get fatigued, and [02:09:00] fatigue is bad. No interest in that. Um, luckily, nobody's really, like, super harmed. No, I don't think I- Has anyone- I, I didn't get hit Did anyone- I haven't taken any damage Has anyone taken any damage? None.
Great. Uh- No ... cool. Cool, cool, cool, cool. What a difficult fight we all had. It was super scary. Yeah. Um, so- I almost got pinched. He tried to pinch me. I almost got pinched. The worst thing that can happen in combat. Oh my.
So during rest, we have a few things that we can do. If anyone had been injured, which nobody has yet, we could do some medical attention to one another to- Help assist on those injury rolls that we make at the end of our rest. Um, we sleep, which helps you to regain HP. We are in a, uh, safe and comfortable place, hopefully getting at least eight hours of sleep, so you all will be well-rested tonight- Yeah
meaning that your HP is increased by plus [02:10:00] two. Ooh. Ooh. Um, nobody has any injuries. If they did, they would be making a check based on kind of how difficult of a day we had. Today would've been a heavy activity day, so it would be a little harder to treat those injuries. So luckily we're all good. Yeah. Um- Similarly, medical attention works with our robot friend.
Uh, when we heal a robot, we do in and repair instead of in and medicine. Um. I have a question on that. Yeah. I have a perk called jury rigging where I can do temporary repairs. Oh. Does that work on Travis? I would say- I don't know exactly what it does, but that sounds interesting and I'll go read the perk.
I can temporarily repair weapons and, uh, they last until a complication. The, the repair lasts until a complication, if I remember- I would say- ... correctly. Um- You're just like the repair skill. I, uh, [02:11:00] I, I mean, I... It's, it's a special kind of repair that just does... I don't have to, like, do anything crazy. I think the way we could, like, swing that rules-wise, if we wanna get silly with it, is- Okay
there is, there is an ability called first aid, which is, uh, tending to an injury during combat. Maybe you have some sort of, like, little, like, buffer tag, specifically when you're helping- Okay ... um, your robot friend to patch up his injuries. Sounds good. Um, besides that, you probably want to eat some food for the day.
We traveled, in total, probably, say, most of the day, so you need to eat, I don't know, three foods. Three foods. Three foods, so you're not- And a nibble. Or I guess you could just be hungry. Could I cook that mirelurk meat? Yeah. Cool. Um, you know, get a little bit of a fire going. Okay. Cook some mirelurk meat. Um- That was six mirelurk meats.
I will- So I would have enough for people to share. Yeah. If the mirelurk meat is cooked, I'll eat it. [02:12:00] Of course, of course. Yes, 'cause then you don't have to roll for disease- Exactly ... necessarily. 'Cause nobody... Let's check. We also need to do that. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Check if anyone has to roll for disease. Disease. I don't believe so.
Um, nobody suffered damage from the mirelurks, right? No. No. Uh, nobody drank any dirty water? Nope. No. Uh, uh, uh. Uh, nobody ate raw meat? No. Uh, and nobody breathed in noxious or toxic fumes. Nobody was within reach of someone with a contagious disease, and we are sleeping in beds tonight. Oh, man. What a rare treat.
So yeah, nobody has to roll on the disease table. Yum.
A pretty successful first day of traveling. All right. So I'll give out mirelurk meat to anyone who wants it. I've got six of them, so I could give two to each of us. I like how [02:13:00] we are- Okay, I know that you don't eat mirelurk meat. Do you just completely ignore, like, hunger and- Uh ... hydration as a thing? Yeah.
Cool. Um, I usually... It's, it specifically said, like, I don't eat or drink. I haven't s- found anything about sleep. I assume you have to, like, charge up. I hope so. I hope you pretend to. It says I get no benefits from rest. Okay. Um. Okay, so- So you don't get those two HP that- Yeah, you don't get those two HP, I guess.
Yeah. Also, really quick, we're immune to d- or to radiation- Yes ... and poison. Yes. But we can still get the flu. Yeah, you can still- Which is crazy to me. Well, some of these are, like, parasites. I, I, it's just- Uh, I don't feel like a parasite would do well in the post-apocalypse. I know, but like, it doesn't say that I can, I can, like, take mic- like I can open a microwave and take that to the face.
Yeah, but you can still get the whoopsies. Yeah, but I can get the whoopsies. I can get old 1950s diseases. Oh. You got the whoopsies. The effect of the whoopsies is you have to spend twice as much luck. [02:14:00] You know? Oh. Got a big old fat case of the whoopsies. You've, you've got the shivers. Like, what, what- Whoopsies
I've got a case of the vapors. Like- Yes. Like... Um, yeah. I don't think that the Barbie Ghouls have much to, like, offer you in the way of, like, stuff. No. If there's anything else you wanna, like, talk to them about, ask them about. Um, but they kind of, like, just, you know, just like you, they're just trying to survive.
Yeah. Not much to give. If you want more lore dumps from your good friend Barbara. But otherwise, you just have a restful night here at this, uh, abandoned barber shop. Yeah. I'm like an Oblivion NPC. You keep going up to her and she just keep going, "Heard any good rumors lately?" "Greetings, Ghoul." "Tell me more about..."
Yeah, I like it. All right. I mean, I'll take some So are we going to- Hey, you can have some mirelurk meat. It's been cooked. Okay. Are we going to head to General Drey's? Because [02:15:00] we could go into Arcadia. Once we get into there, we are gonna be dealing with like, you know, if not the Infinites, then the raiders that are all up in their business.
I mean- I w- I don't wanna fumble into somebody's backstory this early. Let's, let's just move on past that, huh? You
are a backstory. Ah. You're the moment- I don't wanna fumble into someone's backstory this early- ... I was backstory ... and it's a four-episode campaign. You're the moment of the backstory. I mean, if you had Ultimate to- I... I can wait outside with you if you want. They probably don't want me inside. Will anything bad happen to you if you go in there?
My current, uh, ability to think for myself is dependent on accomplishing my current task. Ah. If my current task is changed, I may be unable to continue with you. Okay. [02:16:00] What- Do you... Can you tell us your current task? It's snake skins, I imagine. I have been ordered to retrieve 10,000 snake skins. I have currently completed .34% of this task.
Look at you. That's still, like, three... I can't do math off the top of my head. Not, not the, the Deathclaw the player. Uh. That's 3,400 snake skins. And you believe this, this guy might change your, might change your goal? Or .34%. I wouldn't be- What, 34? 3, 34 snake skins. 34 snake skins. Yeah. You found 34 snake skins this whole time?
It's the Everglades. I'm pretty sure the general was being sarcastic when he gave me the order to collect 10,000 snake skins. Um, but that doesn't change that it was an order, and I- Okay, we'll just- ... left to accomplish my goal. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Your sentience is currently based on a sarcastic order that [02:17:00] your commander gave, and you have the knowledge to be aware that the order was sarcastic, and your entire existence is based on a joke Yes Would he recognize you with a different hat?
So you, you say this person's existence is a joke, but I can't call you a weapon? And you don't want a tiny hat? I, I ignore both of you. Can't you use- Can I study you? I don't see why not. Hmm. I mean- What if we just take out your ability to hear? That would work. I can put it back when we're done. Great. As long as I don't hear a conflicting order from the general, I can continue on my present task.
Are we sure they'd recognize you? There's lots of Mr. Handys out here. The... I think the- We have a way of knowing that this is his old Mr. Handy? Uh- Did you have the hat before? Spray paint on the back it says like- 'Cause I'm- ... [02:18:00] General Dre's like crush. We can definitely scrape that off. No, it's okay. It's up here.
It would be a considerable risk for me to be able to hear him, to me completing my current task. You just put an image in my head of a Mr. Handy with butt cheeks sprayed on the back of it. Oh, God. If he gives me a new order, that will mean I have failed my task. My goal is to not fail my task. So then, okay, for the sake of your current task, we'll pull your ability...
I can take out your ability to hear. And then we'll put it back when we're done, but for now just follow us after we do that. Just follow us around and then whenever we look at you just say, "Yes." Yes. Sound good? Do you wanna swap hats? Yes. Yes. I gotta get a hat. Okay. I'm gonna try to do that. His ability to hear.
Okay. Okay. That would be- I'm gonna wait till we get to the place first- ... before we start doing that. The
[02:19:00] inevitable combat encounter where we're all getting ripped to shreds, and I look at the Mr. Handy he goes, "Yes."
Great. Yeah. Um, you have a lovely restful night, those of you that can gain benefits from rest, you know, plus two. Fantastic. Um, you're just vibing. Travis, too. Um, yeah, you got up about- well, half the day to, uh, General Dre's, oh gosh, what is it? Croc shop. There's so many people. General Dre's Fun Croc Experience.
Um- Fantastic. Kind of just this little- People in the wasteland together smoke croc. Like, what the, what is going on? What is a croc experience? A croc experience. A croc experience.
What is a croc experience? Is this like a, like- Have you never been to Florida? That's like every other bar. It's a croc experience. Oh, like dile? Like crocodile? Or like- Yes, like dile. I was thinking like [02:20:00] croc. Like, we go there and he'd be like, "Who's up for ribs?" Like. It's a fun croc experience. Okay. It's croc-o-time.
Oh. Oh, God. Like the dile. Oh my God. But yeah, uh, the general has always, you know, Fun Croc Experience only makes so much money. Um, he notably kind of has his little shop and his Fun Croc Experience- ... set up right outside of Arcadia, um, which to people who are trying to get close to Millennium Park, that's a nice stopping point.
So people have kind of used it as a, a little hotel, you know, Fun Croc Experience. Um, it's kinda like when you go to, uh- You can't just say words- ... and expect them to have meaning. It's when you go to, like, the Millennium Park in real life, and you stay at, like, a Howard Johnson- ... 'cause you can't stay at the, you know, the real hotel.
Like that. Um, we heading out for the day? Yeah. It's [02:21:00] the morning. I, uh, we've eaten. We're, we're good. We're well-rested. Those of us that can be. Sorry. Rub it in. Yeah. And we swapped hats. We swapped hats. You're getting out of the sort of marshy bit of Florida into the slightly less marshy bit, which makes traveling a bit easier, um, especially for those of you that care about being irradiated.
Um- Couldn't be me. Me. Couldn't be me. We. Um, with that said, there's not a ton going on the first few hours besides, I assume, more tepid conversation. Um, you have only so much to say to each other, obviously. It's clear that everyone in this group has, you know, their secrets, as most people in the wasteland do.
You learn not to ask questions. Um, whose perception's the best? Mine's a five. [02:22:00] Mine's a six. Seven. Ooh. Uh, mine was six. Mm-hmm. Yeah. All right. Don't your, aren't your eyes cracked, like...? Still, you know, it's- The headlights- They're still mechanical eyes ... special robot eyes. The headlights on your, like, uh, 2004 Subaru Baja.
Oh my God. Okay. Um, yeah, as you're walking, you see a pretty sizable group ahead on your little, like, heat sensors or whatever. Um- Sorry, imagine there are lights on a Subaru Baja scanning the Florida forests. You are now a Subaru Baja. Certain models have the WRX Impreza lights, just so you know. I love the Bajas.
Um, try not to think too hard about Subaru Bajas. If you win 10 Magic tournaments at T- at the gaming center in a row, you get a Subaru Baja. [02:23:00] I went on vacation in October. I saw, like, vacation photos, and then the one Subaru Baja I saw in a parking lot, and was just, like, pointing to it. I was really excited about.
Anyway. You, like, clap like a seal.
tourist destination towards the Subaru Baja parking lot. Anyway, um- I see people. You see people. Um, decently sized group. I think if you want to, like, discern more about what's going on there, that would be a perception plus survival. Yeah. I can do that.
Uh, that is two success. Cool. Yeah, so that will generate an action point for you. Nice. Um, it is a somewhat large group of raiders. I would say at least a dozen, um, moving along. There's raiders ahead. How many? They may have snake skins. We should [02:24:00] engage. Oh, God. How many raiders? Less than would be trouble for us.
Well- You should go say hi. Yeah, by your count, there's 14 people in total in that group. It's a perfectly manageable number of raiders. I think at this point, now that they've been pointed out to you, you can see it is, uh, 14 people giving you- A large group. They, I see if they are familiar raiders. Yes, they are.
Yeah. Just, like, fully, like, you see the- The, their memorabilia and everything. Yeah. Yeah. Sweet. Um, these guys thinks I'm dead. Okay. Do you wanna continue being dead? I don't... I mean, I think they could continue being dead because- They're not currently dead. Do you want them to be dead? I can make them dead. No, there's 14 of them.
They will, they will do that before you do that. I say we just- [02:25:00] We could scare 'em. No, we just don't engage. Well, right, I'm saying- We run, or we sneak. We, we don't do that. Even 14 people probably wouldn't wanna take on a death claw, that's- Perhaps. You could try to- Strength in numbers ... perhaps. I'm also not a, like, an adult death claw.
I'm not that intimidating. Maybe. Um- You were very scary when I first saw you. I'm, I'm more like a- Think about it ... you had two successes on that roll? Yes. I am an adult death claw, but- Uh, as you're sort of viewing this group, you realize you recognize someone in the group. Uh, this is your good friend Sam.
Uh, you can roll-
Don't do the thing you're about to do. I know what you're thinking of doing. You're thinking, "I'm going to immediately yell, 'Hey, Sam.'" Think of it, though. Think of it. Perception and speech, I guess, is a sort of insight stand-in to see, like, the vibe there. Okay. So yeah, to get, figure out what the deal is? Yeah, what's the deal?
Okay. [02:26:00] Decker- Oh ... returned from the dead, tamer of death claw. Pretty impressive. One success. One success. Um- I want to pretend to eat you if that'll discourage you. Yeah, you're not sure, like, exactly what the vibe is there, but you kind of get the sense that, like, uh, Sam is very much not, like, a part of them.
Like, they're not really giving him trouble, but they're also kinda like, you know, almost like high school bully behavior. They'll, like, elbow him every so often if he's, like, lagging behind or, like, crack jokes about how he's a nerd or whatever.
Not everyone in that group is a raider. We could more easily take them. Okay, so we've gone from 14 to 13. Why? The numbers are ever in our favor. Exactly. I was being certain. Hmm. If we think these people may be friendly to us because they know [02:27:00] you- They weren't very friendly to me the last time- Oh, okay
I've seen them. Okay, okay. Um, I don't know- Did they try to cause you to be dead? No, there's just- Oh, okay, okay ... I, I, my face just looks like this 'cause I like it. Oh, uh- Yeah ... well, um, this is the sarcasm from before? Okay. Yeah. Okay, I've- I don't know what happened to... I don't, I'm not gonna ask a person what happened to their face or how long ago it happened.
It's the wastes. Okay. But nonetheless, the, the, the interaction we might have if I'm seen- Not good ... not good. Okay. But Deathclaw, but Killbot. I mean- But- ... I g- I guess you have a fancy hat. I do. I, it's, it's, it's- I, um, now to... I say we just don't engage I don't think we should [02:28:00] try and fight these people either.
I think we should just- Like- ... sneak on by. Oh, do you feel... Are you sneaky? I think they're heading kind of like the same-ish direction from you, a little ways up, so if you just waited a bit they would get pretty, like, a ways from you. Okay. I, I say we just don't- They seem to also be heading northward. We just don't engage.
We just let them go. I'm, I'm very pro letting them go. It's too many people. It's... If we wanted, it's, it seems like there was some history there. I don't know if they... But it's not good. Eh. We have one of their victims and snakeskin guy. I'm good. It seems unlikely they would have a significant number of snakeskins.
Raiders use a lot of stuff. Letting them... They could have snakeskins? No. I don't know. I think- No. No, no, no ... the Molotovs, we, we use snakeskins all the time. All the time we use snakeskins. Wait, I don't- In fact, I'm going to take off my snakeskin boot. We make boots out of [02:29:00] them. I, I look at you and I go, "So, so you're called the Molotovs?"
Yes. And they burned you alive? Well, they threw me off a cliff. But- Burned... Then wh- Did- I thought you said you got the burns related to the- You ever fallen off a cliff, my friend? When... Uh, we, maybe I fell- But do you catch fire? You. But- What did you, uh, what did you get? You know, the burning cliffs. The, the, the road rash.
Anything scraping up your face. Oh, okay. Yeah. This is not just one thing. I'm not great with human anatomy. My apologies. Yeah. I... You think you would be. Whatever. Why would I be? I'm a lizard. Nonetheless, I believe they have plenty of snakeskins. So we should kill them and take their snakeskins. I would say that you would have 10,001 snakeskins.
I will not need the last one. If
the rest of the group wants to, I guess. I, I don't. I don't want to attempt to engage [02:30:00] 14 people. Okay. Even with a death blow. I am just audibly, visibly trying to egg this person on. That is a-
Good. I, I, I'm just gonna sit back. You guys decide
We're probably heading the same place that they are anyway. I say we give them their space. We- Then take the snake skins ... if the opportunity arises for us to take their snake skins, if they've even got them, we obviously take their snake skins
I'm just gonna like be visibly stubbornly tapping my foot. Convince me we're letting them go and we're not sneaking by. Uh, why do you need us to do that? Convince me we are letting them go and not letting them sneak by. Their position is in front of us. They are moving away from us. Sneaking has not been [02:31:00] necessary.
See, they're at least attempting. They're at least attempting this. So what, you wanna get... You, you, you want us to try and attack these people to get... Why did they throw you off a cliff? I'm trying to find that out, but don't you think- Oh, you don't know? Don't you think you could handle it? Do you think you need- Do you think what?
You could handle it
You know, I never actually- Are they in a good mood to push me off the cliff? Is this like a thing they do? I don't know. I, I- The only gang I'm a part of is a barbershop quartet on the weekends. So why am I asking you? Yeah, what am I do- why am I...? All right. We'll get the snake skins later, I suppose. Look, they're running.
Oh, they're gone. Okay, bye. Okay. Thank you. Cool. All right, so you let them kinda continue on their way. After a bit, they're kind of out of sight again. [02:32:00] Um, and you continue back headed northward. Um- I think as we just sort of see General Dre's Fun Croc Experience, um, large building thusly labeled, I think that's a good place to call it for tonight.
