In the Torah portion of Vaira, we come across a moment where God commands Moshe once again to speak to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Why the need to reiterate this command? It's because there was an interruption in the narrative, and this serves as a reminder and reinforcement of Moshe's mission. It underscores the importance of persistence and resilience, even when faced with challenges.
Moving to the question of punishment, we find a profound discussion. How can God harden Pharaoh's heart and then punish him for his actions? The bottom line is that Pharaoh had long deserved punishment for his cruel treatment of the Jewish people. The hardening of his heart is a complex issue, but it does not absolve him of the responsibility for his earlier choices and actions. His punishment comes as a result of what he did to the Jewish people, and it fulfills the principle of justice.
