What is Middle East Regulatory Policy Brief?

Regulatory news, updates, and insights for countries in the Middle East presented by the Carver Agents team

Welcome to Carver's Middle East Regulatory Updates for August 16, 2026.

In the United Arab Emirates, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has issued detailed requirements for mobile phone device type approval, supplier registration, SIM card sales outlet registration, customs clearance permits, and early warning system specifications. These measures mandate that manufacturers, importers, and distributors must register with the Authority. Devices must obtain type approval before being sold or used in the UAE, and SIM card sales outlets are required to be registered and licensed.

Turning to Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority has identified labelling non-compliance for Batch no. 3024 of Flindix, which contains Isosorbide Dinitrate. The Authority requires that pharmaceutical products include Arabic and English labelling information on their outer packaging.

Additionally, a safety communication has been issued concerning Aurum Adrenaline, also known as Epinephrine Injection. Healthcare providers are alerted to the risk of syringe blockage when Aurum Adrenaline Injection is used with incompatible needle-free connectors, or NFCs.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority also approved Clindamycin Hikma. However, the product was found to lack an English Package Leaflet inside the packaging. The Authority mandates that the English Package Leaflet must be included.

In a broader regulatory development, Saudi Arabia has introduced new measures to enhance product safety through the use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. These measures affect the food, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors.

Furthermore, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission in Saudi Arabia has published a new usage policy for accessing and using its website and related services. This policy clarifies user obligations, restrictions, intellectual property rights, liability limits, and responsibilities. Users must comply with all terms and conditions and applicable Saudi laws. Prohibited actions include uploading unauthorized or malicious content, disrupting site operations, and violating intellectual property rights. The Commission reserves the right to terminate or restrict access without notice in case of violations.
