Swerve was great here. This is everything that you want and expect from Swerve Strickland.
That's nothing against Will Ospreay. Ospreay wasn't bad by any means. Swerve was just that good.
All right, we are flying solo tonight because as we record this, a lot of severe weather came through the area this evening and Doug as part of his day job had to deal with a lot of it, which sucks. I've been there, it's not fun. So just me tonight because I think he didn't get home till like after eight PM, which is not super conducive to watching a show that starts at seven our time. So let's jump into tonight's Dynamite live from Sugar Land, Texas.
And believe it or not, there's only one more of these between now and Forbidden Door. Only one more Dynamite between now and Forbidden Door. And that's going to factor into tonight's show. But let's begin with the heat check. Here's where I'm gonna talk about what I think worked, what I think was just mid, and what I think didn't work. So let's begin with the things I liked. Let's start with the MJF opening segment. I liked this. I'll get into the whys behind this when we run down the show here in just a minute, but
I liked the MJF opening segment. I liked Kenny Omega's promo. I really liked The Dogs recap video package showing their wins. I'll explain more why I liked that so much, but I really liked that. Really dug Moxley and Garcia versus Brodido. The ProtOkada promo I thought was pretty good. Thekla's promo, I thought was very good. Bandido and Mox.
that backstage promo that led to a match I thought was pretty good. It's a little bit on the borderline of like and mid for me. We'll talk more about that. Liked Mercedes versus Hazuki a lot. I thought that was a really good match. The Maya World and Athena package I thought was good, and the Swerve Ospreay promo I thought was really, really good. And then Ospreay with the Death Riders after that. So then what was mid?
Everything else. I didn't put anything in the didn't like it category, which is good. Right? That's what you want. You want for me to enjoy for the most part the entire show and not think anything was bad. And I say me specifically because as we know, all about me. It's all about what I think. But so let's dive into the rundown. So we open with MJF and the Don Callis Family backstage. And what I really liked about this, not surprisingly, was MJF.
Him managing to hit everybody that has called a shot at his title in one promo was really pretty good. And working in the hangman reference and shot at him as well, I thought was good. So really good work as per usual by MJF. I also thought, you know, as they announced the team, Kevin Knight, Fletcher, Okada, Andrade, they were obvious choices. Jake Doyle did surprise me a little bit.
I thought it was going to be Mark Davis in that spot as the heavy, possibly Brian Cage since he just came back. Maybe even Lance Archer, who they do nothing with.
But I really did think it was going to be Mark Davis there. But I do think it makes sense to give Jake Doyle something to do here since he just came back. And I do think that they're pretty interested in in pushing him. So we'll see.
beyond that, you know, they keep sowing the seeds of Andrade having beef with the family soon, Andrade having beef with MJF, which would come back later in the evening. So, All in all, pretty good promo. Did what it needed to do, I think. Then we went to well, really we went to Tony Nese already in the ring. Kenny Omega, a bit of a surprise here coming out to take on Tony Nese and
You'll note that I didn't put this in my liked it section. This is part of the everything else that went into the mid section. And here's why. I'm going to continue to beat this drum of having guys stack wins against wrestlers that are the epitome of already in the ring. Literally, Tony Nese was already in the ring. We didn't see his entrance. Having people win matches against wrestlers
that you don't even deem them worthy of an entrance, of a televised entrance, really doesn't do a lot to build their championship resume. And we are stuck in this mold of we're gonna have top guy stack up a bunch of wins against people that we are either not going to see on TV again or are rarely going to see them and they're only going to be brought out to job to somebody all over again.
And I actually kind of like Tony Nese I thought I liked him back in the WWE days. I think he was part of the original Cruiserweight Classic, if I recall correctly, or Cruiserweight Classic, whatever they called it. I liked him. I still like him. But this is the spot he's in AEW. His spot is to job to people. It's okay. But Kenny Omega beating Tony Nese doesn't make me go.
Wow, give Kenny the title shot tomorrow, right? Also, he's Kenny Omega. His bona fides and his resume pretty well solidified here in AEW and really in professional wrestling in general. So it didn't make a lot of sense to me to have Kenny squash Tony Nese. You could have had Kenny wrestle somebody didn't have to be like Kenny and Swerve, but you could have had him wrestle. I don't know, you could have had him wrestle Brody King and win that match, or you could have had him wrestle
I don't know. I'm trying to think of any of the Don Callis Family members that aren't doing anything would have made a little bit more sense here, right? but instead, Kenny squashes him and then cuts a promo. The match was fine. I mean, it's a squash match, right? It was fine, whatever. But you know, using a match like this plus Kenny calling out MJF on Collision just really, in my mind.
Is not enough to justify a match between the two, which is still what I think we're gonna get at the pay-per-view in July in Montreal. So then Kenny cuts a promo after that, which was pretty good. I liked it fine because I liked the stare-down between TMDK and The Elite. TMDK would come out before Kenny even started talking, if I recall correctly. It was nice to see Jack Perry come out.
with the Bucks to back up Kenny Omega because there have been reports that Jack's contract is up. The fact that he appeared makes me think either that's wrong or that he re-signed. I hope he did because I really like him. And I think AEW is the perfect fit for him. The promo I thought was fine. Was it Kenny's best? No, but he did a good job of putting ZSJ over for anybody that doesn't know Zack Sabre Jr..
I would like to see TMDK versus The Elite. And I even felt like maybe they were supposed to set up a match here and that maybe Kenny messed up because at one point, it did look like Kenny got a little bit lost. There's a moment, if you're watching it, where he kind of has a look on his face, like, what was I supposed to say? But then it seems like he remembers. So I might be reading too much into it. I fully admit that, but I wouldn't mind.
a match, you know, a trios match between TMDK and Kenny Omegand the Bucks, for example, or even Jack and the Bucks that would be a lot of fun. Even though I'm kind of over multi-man matches, but I still think that would be a lot of fun. Got a week to make it happen. Hopefully it happens next week. Then they went to the recap of The Dogs picking up wins on Collision, which I thought was really good because I did not know that The Dogs had beaten The Gunns
And I didn't know that they beat the Young Bucks over the weekend. I get it. I should be watching Collision. I do. I get it. The problem is that either I'm not home for one reason or another, which is weird because I don't go out like I used to, but sometimes I'm not home on a Saturday night. Or we're doing something else, we're watching something else, and I forget that the show is on.
And that's always been the problem with any show on a Friday or Saturday night. You have real life competition, meaning the weekend is when people go do things, right? For a long time in TV, I don't know if this is still true, but for a long time it was called the Friday night death slot for a reason. Now, granted, they're on Saturday, not Friday, but still you see my point. So I
Want more of these recaps. Doug has talked about that a lot that we think it's really important that you do that. And it was really good because now I'm caught up and I go, Yeah, you know, The Dogs beating two former tag team champions in The Gunns and the Young Bucks, and beating the Young Bucks, who obviously are legit, does way more for them challenging Cope and Christian for the AEW Tag Team titles than having Kenny Omega beat Tony Nese. So
I know, Tony Khan, that you know how to do this. You just showed me that you know how to build credible contenders. Let's do more of that for the world title, please. But anyway, thought the Collision recap was good and more of that. Then we got Mox and Garcia versus Brodido And if you've been listening for a while, you know that I am coming around on Jon Moxley a lot from where he's been. That continued tonight.
It's nice to see Danny Garcia get in the ring again. I feel like we've only seen him on like run-ins a lot lately. And I like Danny.
and of course I like Brodido, who doesn't like Brodido. I will say I thought that these guys got a lot of time for a match that had no real stakes. This is one of those that it felt like if you're playing a video game and you're just booking matches, like there's there's some fun games that I have on my phone where you that's what you do. You just book shows.
That felt like a match that I would just randomly book on one of those shows because like, hey, let's put these two teams together. That'll be fun.
So like I said, a lot of time for a match that in my mind didn't have a lot of stakes. It would ultimately lead somewhere later in the show, which I probably should have seen coming, but didn't.
The fact that this would come back around later in the show then makes the finish make more sense because at the time I wrote down that I was surprised Brodido won. But it was a good match. It was an entertaining match. And again, I'm not gonna complain about those four guys being in the ring together on my TV. From there, the ProtOkada promo happened, which was basically Fletcher and Okada calling out. Takeshita little bit to keep that feud going.
But I thought it was pretty good to keep the tick the Takeshita storyline going and to remind everybody that there's a bromance between Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada. Then we had such a good opportunity here, and we didn't quite get there. Tommaso Ciampa cuts a promo. Now.
Again, if you've been following along on this show for a couple of weeks, you know that Doug and I are not big on this Jericho/Ciampa feud that they are working on. Based on your comments online on social media when we post stuff about it, you tend to agree with us. You agree with us that this isn't this isn't hitting There's a weak at best story here, if you can even call it a story. And they haven't done a good job of building it.
So a lot riding on this promo. And I think Ciampa walked up to the line of getting it right, but didn't quite get there. And here's why.
If you put this in a vacuum, it's a good promo. Like it really is. I have no issue with the promo and the way he delivered it and all that. But taken in the context of this Jericho/Ciampa story in air quotes, the whole problem that we've had with it has been I don't know why you two are beefing. I don't know why you don't like each other. And last week, when they were face-to-face in the ring, they didn't.
really address that. They didn't really clarify it. So Ciampa tonight basically says to Chris Jericho, I don't like you because you're being goofy.
I don't like you because I liked the old versions of you and you're not doing that now, so now I hate you. How dare you goof around and have fun?
I get it. Ciampa's supposed to be intense psycho killer guy. But that's a pretty weak that's a pretty weak excuse to build a feud on. That's pretty flimsy for these two guys to go to war with each other. I'm guessing it extends past Forbidden Door. Hopefully not. Hopefully I'm wrong on that. Hopefully they see the same things I do of hey, this feud isn't really going anywhere. Let's not.
Let's do the match and move on. But that was basically what he said. I'm mad at you because you're being goofy.
Okay. So it goes in my mid. I didn't dislike the promo, but again, you're not doing anything to help this story that desperately needs help. So I can't say I liked it either. Then we see The Dogs getting ready to come out to the ring, and instead they get jumped by Cope and Christian. There's a little bit of a fight that it happens, and then The Dogs get out of the ring and they run off. By the way.
I'm gonna say this. This is probably not the last time I'll say it. When they do the spot where you throw a guy into the ring post, and it's you know, back in the day when they would do that and they would like it looked to me like they would really slam into the ring post. I was like, Man, that had to just destroy your shoulder, right? Well, now with the ring post being so far back from the ring, that spot just doesn't work as well anymore. And anyway, Christian threw Clark Connors into the ring post and
The angle they shot it from, it didn't look all that devastating, but Clark sold it like he got shot by a cannon. Which is good on you for selling it that way, my man. But anyway. Christian then insults their moms. I'm not sure that Cope pointing out that he and Christian are old is the best angle here. However, because this is leading to a match at Forbidden Door between The Dogs and Cope and Christian. I really can't be mad at it because I'm down for that match.
I think maybe they left a little too much time between The Dogs jumping Cope and Christian, and now I think maybe last week would have been a good time to remind us of that. That's nitpicky though, and I admit. And like I said, putting this on, you know, putting this here to lead to the pay-per-view match, I'm fine with that. I'm not mad at it. Christian was great here, Cope was pretty good. I do find it a little bit odd.
That on a show that made some matches for Forbidden Door, it made AEW matches. Right. When you look at the card as we know it right now for Forbidden Door, I think that there are only two matches that feature non-AEW wrestlers, which is a little odd to me. We'll talk more about it though. Actually, let's just talk about it here, because after that was the Thekla promo.
So they did a nice job here. They showed a video package of the person whose name escapes me right now that Thekla is going to wrestle at Forbidden Door from Stardom. And we got introduced to her. Fun side note my dog did not care for her mask because as soon as she showed up in the mask, my dog started barking at the TV, which I thought was pretty funny.
So anyway, Starlight Kid. That's the name I was looking for. Starlight Kid. Okay. So then Thekla turns around and cuts a promo. I like this promo a lot. I thought I thought she did a really good job. I think Thekla, her promos have been really, really good for
Like a month now, maybe even a little bit longer. It's really showcasing her character and her basically saying, you know, you need to stay on that side of the Forbidden Door because on this side, you know, I rule. I was like, that's that's really good. Did a great job of selling the emotion behind this match that's coming. And I look forward to it. I look I've never seen Starlight Kid ever.
But I like the mask. I think it's pretty cool. Even if my dog didn't like the mask, I think the match is going to be fun. So good job. Good job, everybody here. Then we got the Brodido backstage interview, which ends up making a match between Bandido and Jon Moxley for the Continental Championship at Forbidden Door. So yet again, an AEW match in a show that's supposed to showcase other companies.
I don't I just don't fully get it. You know, so we've got Starlight Kid representing Stardom, ZSJ representing New Japan against Omega, and that's it. I don't think there's a CMLL wrestler anywhere on the card, despite their logo being part of, you know, the poster and the promotional stuff. So to me, where I'm gonna nitpick Forbidden Door, I'm not even sure this in nitpick.
To me, the fun of Forbidden Door was you're gonna show me wrestlers that I don't get to see otherwise because they're in other countries, right? And I thought that was a lot of fun. And you could create these sort of quote-unquote dream matchups, right? Where you can have whether it's Kenny Omegand ZSJ, or you could have, you know, MJF wrestling, one of the, you know, the New Japan top guys or whatever it is.
And we're just not doing it this year with Forbidden Door, and I don't fully understand it. I imagine that there are behind the scenes things going on that we don't know. I know New Japan was just sold to a new ownership group. I'm gonna guess that factors into it a little bit. I'm guessing there are some visa concerns and issues. I mean, that's pure speculation on my part, but
I mean, you've seen issues happening just with teams traveling into the US for the World Cup. I can't imagine that wrestlers coming in for Forbidden Door wouldn't run into the same thing. So that might be part of it. I really don't know. It's just interesting to me that there are three segments in a row here that set up or further matches for Forbidden Door, and only one of them.
Features a wrestler that's not currently in AEW. Just an interesting little thing to me there. But in terms of the actual segment itself, I thought that this was pretty good. I again, I like what Mox is doing here, the more like kind of Zen, not being the cryptic, weird, intense talking like this guy, you know. I liked it. I liked him just being like, okay, but you can have the match, Bandido, but you understand what it means, right?
Means Brody's not allowed at ringside. Like you get it, right? I thought it was fun. I thought it was a fun little little exchange. The match will be fun, so can't be mad at it. Then we got Mercedes Moné and Hazuki, who I guess wrestles for Stardom. This is part of why I'm kind of ragging on Forbidden Door here. I've never seen Hazuki ever before tonight.
And I came away very impressed with her. And that's what I really like about Forbidden Door. It's an opportunity to see these wrestlers that we don't normally get to see and go, like, wow, that person's really good. I'm going to seek out more of them via the internet, right? That aside, this was a really good match. This is actually my match of the night. This was fantastic. I thought they did a great job. they really made Hazuki look
Like a legitimate contender to win this match at multiple points. I knew Mercedes was going to win. Logically, I knew she was going to win. But there were multiple points in this match where I thought, maybe not. Maybe they're going to find a different thing for Mercedes to do at All In because there were a couple times where I really thought Hazuki was going to take it. This was a good match. If you didn't watch it, seek it out. It's worth your time. They got a bunch of time, they should have.
Very, very, very good match tonight between Mercedes and Hazuki. Again, my match of the night. Then it went to the video package, basically hyping up Maya World and Athena, who are the other semifinal match in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. That's happening on Saturday. I probably should have mentioned Mercedes and Hazuki were one semifinal.
So who will she get between Maya World and Athena? We'll find out Saturday. This was a good little package, though. I thought it made Maya World really look good. They did a nice job of building on the momentum of her picking up the win last week. They did a good job of letting you know if you didn't that hey, there's a relationship between these two from Ring of Honor.
Between her and Athena, because I didn't know that. So I thought they did a really nice job with this package to continue building interest in a match that I think a lot of us were already interested in because of Maya World's win over Skye Blue, which none of us saw coming. So looking forward to it on Saturday. Will I remember to watch Collision? No, I won't. And then I'm gonna be bummed when I realize I forgot.
Maybe, maybe at some point between now and next Wednesday, I'll remember and I'll watch that match. But we've met me, so probably not. I'll keep forgetting. But anyway, it was a good package. Good job to build momentum for that match. So then Swerve and Ospreay were in the ring. Now you're gonna see a lot about Ospreay's interaction with Tony Schiavone online because of what he said before Swerve came out, which bottom line, congratulations.
To Will Ospreay and Alex Windsor on getting married over the weekend. And then it got a little bit weird for a minute there. That's all I'm gonna say. Go look it up if you didn't see it. It gets a little bit weird. Then Swerve comes out, and Swerve was great here. Let me say that again. Swerve was great here. This is everything that you want and expect from Swerve Strickland.
He laid out a great case of, you know, I thought we were friends and I thought that we agreed that we needed to take down the Death Riders. So we go and do that. We help hangman Adam Page of all people win the championship because we got to get it away from Jon Moxley. They break your neck and now you're hanging out with them. And you haven't told us why. Swerve specifically said that. I went, you know, that's a good point. He hasn't really addressed it. He makes some good points here.
Ultimately, like I said, Swerve makes this promo. He's really, really good here. That's nothing against Will Ospreay. Ospreay wasn't bad by any means. Swerve was just that good. And they did a great job of taking a match that already was going to have heat around it because it's the Owen Hart Tournament final, because the winner goes on to All In to challenge for the championship. And look, Swerve and Ospreay, you don't even have to give me a reason, just
Put them in the ring together and I'm in, right? But Swerve did a tremendous job tonight. Really both guys. But again, Swerve did, I think, a lot of the heavy lifting on this. But they did a really nice job of reminding you there is a lot of history here. There is a lot of emotion attached to this. And now it took that match that already was going to be pretty hot and just ratcheted that way up. Like the intensity on this is through the roof now. This is going to be something to see.
at Forbidden Door a week from this Sunday. So great job to both guys, but especially to Swerve for taking this match and finding a way to ratchet the build for it up a level when I had no expectation they were going to do that. I didn't think they needed to do it and yet they found a way. So good job.
After that, we get a quick backstage. And I liked that it was quick, but we get a quick backstage with Jericho, which again I did not mention in my like list. This falls in my mid. Basically it's his response to Ciampa, and it's basically him going, you don't like that I'm not serious? All right, well, then on Saturday, let's get in the ring and be serious or whatever. And that's it. I would have preferred that he said, Okay, then on Saturday.
Let's have a match. And I would have preferred that they make the match for Saturday. They do the match on Saturday, and then we all pretend like this never happened. But that's not what we got tonight. So they're gonna do a face-to-face in the ring on Saturday, which is gonna be tough because Swerve and Ospreay just set the bar for that very high.
everything for this feud is riding on whatever it is they do on Saturday at Collision. And we'll actually know because I think they're taping it tonight. So we'll probably actually know, but everything rides on that because this feud is.
I'm gonna be generous and say it's stuck in the mud. This shouldn't be a feud based on the groundwork that they've laid. This is not good. For two guys who are good at what they do, this is not good. This is a match that I should be into because I like both of them. And I just want it to go away. So they're gonna have to find a way to save this on Saturday. And they've got to find a way to tell a story that goes beyond you're goofy and I don't like it because I'm Mr. Serious guy.
puffy beard and my weird collar on my jacket, which kind of doesn't track with Mr. Serious Guy, but okay. So anyway, a lot riding on Saturday. I have a suspicion that it's not gonna be great. I have a suspicion that they'll probably, much like tonight, they'll walk up to the line of making this good, but it just won't quite get there.
And I think probably it's because they've already done too much damage to this story. I hope I'm wrong. We'll see what happens, but I don't have high hopes. Then we got Ospreay backstage where he almost killed Danny Garcia. This I thought, this whole exchange I thought was good and funny. So basically what happens is, if you didn't see it, is Garcia is yelling at Ospreay, he called you fragile.
He called you fragile. What are you going to do about it? What are you going to do about it? And Ospreay basically slams him against a wall, which, yeah, warranted. And then Mox comes up and is like, those are just words, man. Words can't hurt you unless you let them. And words are all they have. And I was like, this is amazing. This is amazing. Because once again, it's Mox being kind of the Mr. Miyagi here, and he's crushing it.
He's doing such a good job with this. And I was like, you know, that's true. Why don't we say that more often than not on wrestling? Like, okay, yeah, you talked a lot. Great. I don't care. Like, whatever. All you did was chirp. I don't care. Like, let's get in the ring. I it was great. It was great. It was very very funny to me when Garcia was like, Yeah, they're just words. And I'm like, dude, you were just in his face about like, he called you this. What are you gonna do about it? So that was pretty funny. And I know they did that on purpose. That was pretty funny.
but the whole segment was pretty good. It shows again this kind of mentor sensei-ish relationship that Mox has going with Ospreay. Ospreay did talk a little bit tonight about like my ground game's gotten better. You know, it's interesting. It remains interesting to me. I don't know what the payoff is gonna be.
But I'm fascinated by it. I really am. And that brings us to the main event, which was yet another multi-man match, which, like I mentioned earlier, I'm a little bit over. I believe this was 12 people,
I guess it was to try and build momentum for the main event at Forbidden Door. I'm not sure that it did that tonight. Really, what happened was we got the teams. We know who's going to be on Team MJF and we know who's going to be on Team Briscoe. And if you thought about it, you probably already knew the answers. So we had the answer earlier. Kevin Knight, which I think they had already pretty much said he was going to be on MJF's team. Jake Doyle, Andrade, Okada, Fletcher.
That's Team MJF, along obviously with Max. I assumed Briscoe was gonna have the conglomeration, and he pretty much does. So earlier in the night, I forgot to mention that with the ProtOkada promo. They took out Ishii. So you remove him. But it's Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, Roddy Strong, Takeshita which I assumed was gonna be part of it, and then Darby, which that surprised me, but I went, yeah, duh.
he and Kevin Knight have beef right now. So that makes total sense. So all right. So there are your teams.
They did an interesting little stipulation where if somebody got disqualified, they were out of the match at Forbidden Door. Excalibur said it. Then they went to a backstage promo where Briscoe is announcing the team. And Kyle O'Reilly says, well, Tony Khan told me if you get disqualified, you're out. And Briscoe's like, I didn't know that. But Excalibur framed it as it has been confirmed. And I'm like, that was an oopsie. I think that's just all it was. It was an oopsie. They fed him the line. They fed Excalibur the line earlier than they should have.
There were several kind of oopsies tonight, but whatever. We'll set those aside. That made me wonder if somebody would then get disqualified. No, nobody did. I thought maybe somebody would get DQ'd and that would open the Forbidden Door for one of the other companies to send somebody. Didn't happen. Okay. The match is fine, about as fine as a match involving 12 people can be.
There's some cool spots. There at one point Doyle chucks Darby from the stage into the ring post, and that was something, man. That I was like, whoa. That that that looked awesome. I liked the match more than I thought I would, but I still wouldn't put it in my I liked it category. I wouldn't say that I was super into it, right? I think part of it is I'm not all the way in on this story as it is. I don't love that we're getting this multi-person main event at Forbidden Door. I do understand that I think that it's all to protect MJF, who hyperextended his knee in the match against RUSH So like when he was doing the knee thing, which he does a lot of, so all of us assumed it was fake. apparently it was real. Apparently he really did hurt his knee.
I mean he got in the ring, he mixed it up tonight, so obviously he's okay to go, but I think this is probably their way of protecting him. To keep him on the card, but then also protect him. And I think as these things go, there's probably worse ways to do it, you know. They I guess they could have just taken him off the card, which is probably not the right move. So I get it. I just don't love it.
And I'm just not going to love it. And that's just me. You may disagree, and that's fine. I you might be all the way into it and cool. If you are way into watching these 12 dudes in a cage at Forbidden Door, more power to you. I'm not here to tell you're wrong. I'm just here to tell you what I think and what I think is the match is going to be entertaining. I don't think there's any doubt about that. I'm just saying that I don't particularly care.
You know, there are some matches on this card that I'm into it on an emotional level, on a story level. This is not one of them, but they did do a nice job tonight of using this match to help further some storylines. There were issues with Andrade and MJF. There's when they pose, MJF's team wins. When they pose at the end, there's issues between Fletcher and Kevin Knight. There's some issues with Andrade again.
You know, so they did a bit of storytelling here, which you know, that's what you're supposed to do, right? So I can't nitpick this too hard. I'm just kind of over the multi-man matches. I'm not sure that I'm in love. No, I know I'm not in love with a twelve-person match ever. But particularly this one that happened tonight and the one that's happening at Forbidden Door. But whatever. Forbidden Door will come. I'll probably enjoy the match a lot.
And then we'll move on, hopefully. You know, from there it'll further some more storylines. I hope. As we head into All In, I do have to question what in the world are we gonna do with Andrade though? Because he's not in the Owen Hart Tournament, so we know he's not gonna be in the main event at All In. I don't see a path for him there. Maybe they put him in the July pay-per-view in Montreal, but it really feels to me like it's going to be Kenny Omegand MJF. So I'm not sure what we're going to do with Andrade. I'm not sure what we're going do with Swerve. If he loses to Ospreay, and I enjoyed him calling that out tonight in his promo. If everybody's just saying it's yours and I should just get out of way, and I'm one of those people. I'm not sure we're going to do with Swerve.
after this is over, if he does not win the Owen. you've got my attention on a lot of these storylines because they're interesting enough. But as you look down the road at both the pay-per-view in Montreal and then All In, which is obviously the big one and the one that they really should be building towards, I don't know where you're gonna go with a lot of these people.
I think you're painted into a corner a little bit with some of these stories. Like I said, with Andrade, I think there's a potential for Swerve to be painted in a corner a little bit. I don't know what you're gonna do with Thekla. Well, I guess it'll be then the build between her and probably Mercedes, whoever wins the the Owen. So okay.
Got that one. The women's tag team championships again, nowhere to be found. The Women's Champions, nowhere to be found, not mentioned. They continue to just be in purgatory, I guess.
Barely talked about the national championship. Actually, I don't think they talked about it at all. So Mark Davis suddenly has nothing to do. So you see where I'm getting at here. If you've got a bunch of people that really don't have anything to do, and I think the multi-man matches are a result of them wanting to get people on TV, which I get and I respect. But then you've also got a bunch of people, Jack Perry's got nothing to do. The Bucks have nothing to do. I just it's it's very interesting to me how many people have nothing to do and how many people that when I go.
Okay, once we get past Forbidden Door, I'm not sure what we're gonna do with you. I'm not. You know, unless the main event of the Montreal pay-per-view ends up being a multi-person match for the world title with, you know, MJF, Omega, Andrade. And I don't know, would they throw Kevin Knight into that? I don't know. I don't think so. I don't think they should throw him into a championship match yet. I think he should defend the TNT title, but that's me. Point is
You got a bunch of people that you've done a really good job of building, and I'm just not sure what you're going to do with them once you get past Forbidden Door. And I'm not sure how you're going to find a way to get them into All In. And, you know, with a guy like Kyle Fletcher, a guy like Okada, Swerve, I think they should be on the All In card. I think you need them on it, and I just don't see the path for it right now.
All right. So that brings to an end a solo and if I'm being honest, somewhat messy episode. I've I've had better. that's on me. I can't even blame Doug for this. But with that, we have come to an end.
