**James Dooley:**
so if I am a electrician and I want to scale my company's Revenue how would you go about doing it so if you're looking of how to grow an electrician business then first and foremost I'd be looking at my own brand presence online so i'd be definitely looking at SEO search engine optimization making certain that my website looks quality it's got all the right accreditations and case studies and testimonials all on my site that it's built for conversion so if someone comes and looks at my site or my brand or my company that they go yeah these look good I want to use them that would be step number one and with part of search engine optimization it's not just what's on your site but what's on the internet so if someone searches for kaz's electricians that if you don't look the website kasus electricians.com underneath it lots of other pages are saying Kazar is a great electrician and I've used him for x y and Zed I'd want lots of images and videos being done and then being shared across social media I'd want to be omni present on all different social media platforms could potentially run some ads if I've got a product that people want or a service that people want and I feel I've got a good offer that could hook people in to start using us I could start running some social media ads as well I'd say the number one part is within fat rank.com we work with a lot of electricians we do ask a lot of questions like all right you're an electrician but what is it that you focus on is it like rewiring a house or is it mainly just commercial so you're working in let's say offices or stuff like that or you do residential homes as well so we ask a lot of questions and we do actually decline a lot of businesses that an electrician company if they don't have a professional online presence if they do it's completely risk-free so we generating the leads they only paying converted jobs I'd say that's the first thing any electrician should be looking at to grow because they're going to get a consistent flow of inquiries coming into their mailbox that they're not having to pay for initially until they win the job and then they pay a finder's fee and a commission so they're the main bits there is other stuff I mean what would you think of an electrician for let's say traditional marketing would you think that that could work

**Kasra Dash:**
no unless it's it's something crazy like here no I don't think it would work with traditional marketing it's like billboard ads radio TV etc and the number one issue that I've seen people complain about is it's very hard to track let's say you go and get a fancy billboard in your in like down the motorway or let's say you get a couple signs in a roundabout or whatever it's just you just can't track it you don't know how many people have converted from that £6,000 a month or $6,000 a month billboard that's my issue and not only that is when was the last time you drove past a billboard and you remembered that that stop you got your phone out by the time you've gone past it I just don't think it works for this industry personally I think it's good for some Industries I think it's good for let's say you've got a theatre show on in man it's something short term that comes and goes and you want to be present on bus stops on train advertising and stuff like that but generally speaking for service based kind of services like electricians I don't think it's you going to get best bang for your buck the kpis you can't track what you're getting what return on investment that you're getting and I think for anyone who is spending money online whether it is PPC or Facebook ads or SEO you should always be tracking what you're spending and what return on investment you're getting on that so SEO is a long play strategy but it's also there for conversion rate and building your brand not only is it good it's also great for generating your own leads but the value of your overall business actually increases if you've got presence online believe it or not like your multiplier if you were selling for four five six years kind of profits you could get six seven eight years if you were generating your own consistent flow of inquiries yeah so I'd say SEO is definitely a play that you should be looking to have the issue is within the industry there's a lot of cowboys so just be very careful with who you're using and then the next part is teaming up with a lead generation company try out two or three different lead generation companies don't throw your eggs all in one basket try to find out who the best lead generation company is for electricians and that will certainly help your electrician business grow significantly is there anything else that you'd add on that

**James Dooley:**
so I think SEO definitely helps like making certain you've got the reviews you've got the testimonials your social media presence is also pretty decent and one thing I don't think we've spoke about is PPC and a lot of electricians are kind of like a lot of electricians that we've spoken to in the past anyway they kind of just spend money and they don't know where it's coming from right so they might be spending let's say a couple grand a month on PPC a couple grand a month on SEO and a couple grand a month on Facebook ads whereas what we've typically found is generating your own leads via PPC is pretty expensive unless you're going after super longtail which not a lot of PPC agencies are you're just burning a lot of money yeah I mean Kasra I completely agree by the way I think it's a very expensive platform to try and generate leads from you can if further down the line you start to realise that you are brilliant as an electrician at converting a certain service that you sell that it's very very bespoke to what you do it's very profitable and you've got it converting at that point you can run ads specifically for that one product but you're just turning around going electricians Manchester or electricians London you're going to be spending a fortune and it could be for someone looking to change a socket the inquiry could cost you £250 and it might only be an £80 job and at that point you've just wasted and burnt a load of money so for that reason I would say it's one of the last things I would do I'd get the SEO up to scratch I'd team up with a lead generation company and in my opinion those two parts are how you grow an electrician business
