Rick: Hey everyone, welcome to Dutch Dialogues by Dutch Fluency! I'm Rick, and today Emma, Lars and I are out for a walk talking about something we all use every single day on our phones. Trust me, you'll recognize it the moment we start explaining it.
Rick: "Hé, moet je horen!"
Emma: "Wat nu weer?"
Lars: "Rick heeft nieuws. Ik voel het."
Rick: "Nee maar serieus, kijk hier."
Emma: "Laat zien. Wat is het?"
Rick: "Van Agt. Ken je hem?"
Lars: "Uhm... ja? De oud-premier?"
Rick: "Ja! Hij vraagt de koning iets."
Emma: "Wat vraagt hij dan?"
Rick: "Excuses. Aan de Molukkers."
Lars: "Oh. Echt waar?"
Rick: "Ja! Hij vraagt de koning: doe het."
Emma: "Wow. Dat is groot, toch?"
Rick: "Ja, tja. Het is best groot."
Lars: "Maar... de koning doet het niet?"
Rick: "Nee, nog niet."
Emma: "Hmm. Dat is jammer."
Rick: "Typisch Nederland weer, hè?"
Lars: *lacht* "Haha, ja. Typisch."
Emma: "Maar wie zijn de Molukkers?"
Rick: "Mensen uit Indonesië. Vroeger."
Lars: "Eh, niet vroeger. Nu ook nog."
Rick: "Ja ja, klopt. Sorry."
Emma: "Ze wonen hier? In Nederland?"
Rick: "Ja! Al lang hier."
Lars: "Mijn buurman is Moluks, geloof ik."
Emma: "Echt? Dat wist ik niet."
Lars: "Ja. Heel aardige man."
Rick: "Zie je wel. Het is dichtbij."
Emma: "En de excuses... waarom nu?"
Rick: "Goede vraag. Ik weet het niet."
Lars: "Beter laat dan nooit, toch?"
Rick: *lacht* "Haha, ja. Precies."
Emma: "Maar Van Agt zelf... is hij oud?"
Rick: "Ja. Heel oud. En ziek."
Lars: "Oh. Dan snap ik het."
Emma: "Hij wil dit nog meemaken?"
Rick: "Ja, denk ik. Snap ik wel."
Lars: "Dat is... eigenlijk mooi."
Emma: "Ja. Echt wel."
Rick: "Mm-hmm. Maar de koning zwijgt."
Lars: "De koning zwijgt altijd."
Rick: *lacht* "Haha! Ja, dat klopt."
Emma: "Is de koning dan schuldig?"
Rick: "Uhm... niet hij persoonlijk."
Lars: "Nederland. Als land."
Rick: "Ja. Nederland als land."
Emma: "Oké oké. Ik snap het."
Rick: "De comments online zijn ook gek."
Lars: "O nee. Wat zeggen ze?"
Rick: "De helft zegt: doe het!"
Emma: "En de andere helft?"
Rick: "Die zegt: laat het los!"
Lars: "Tja. Zo is het altijd."
Emma: "Nederland is verdeeld."
Rick: "Altijd. Over alles."
Lars: *lacht* "Haha, ja. Over alles."
Emma: "Maar jij, Rick. Wat vind jij?"
Rick: "Ik? Uhm... excuses is goed."
Lars: "Echt? Ik weet het niet."
Rick: "Hoe bedoel je?"
Lars: "Woorden zijn makkelijk, toch?"
Emma: "Ja! Wat doe je erna?"
Rick: "Oké, dat is een punt."
Lars: "Precies. Wat verandert er dan?"
Rick: "Nou ja... het erkent iets."
Emma: "Erkenning is ook iets."
Lars: "Hmm. Misschien. Beetje."
Rick: "Zie je, Lars. Toch belangrijk."
Lars: "Oké oké. Een klein beetje."
Rick: *lacht* "Lars geeft toe! Dit is nieuws!"
Emma: *lacht* "Haha! Zet het op NOS!"
Lars: "Haha, nee joh!"
Rick: "Breaking news: Lars is het eens!"
Lars: "Stop! Ik ben het niet eens!"
Emma: "Tja, te laat. Rick schrijft het op."
Rick: "Haha! Ja, ik stuur het naar NOS."
Lars: "Jullie zijn gek."
Emma: "Maar goed. Wandelen we nog?"
Rick: "Oh ja! We lopen niet meer."
Lars: "Rick stopt altijd voor nieuws."
Rick: "Nee joh. Ik loop en lees."
Emma: "Dat is gevaarlijk, Rick."
