A weekday morning devotional series written by Aaron Marcarelli and hosted by Chad McBeam
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or what person is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?”
“So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Matthew 7:7-11 NASB2020
Today we add verse 11. Jesus says we are sinners, He even says later in his ministry that only God is good. “But Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.”
Mark 10:18 NASB2020
In verse 11 He actually calls us evil. If we still give good gifts to each other how much more will our Heavenly Father give us what we need. Therefore let us continue to put our trust in the living and Good God who loves and provides for us!
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.”
Psalms 20:7-8 NIV
Yesterday and today’s verses sets up tomorrow’s verse, which is the “Golden Rule” and how we should treat others!
Lord, you are a the Good God and we praise your Holy Name! We pray that you give us peace that surpasses all understanding. We trust in you and know that we have victory over sin. Help us to continue to seek your perfect and pleasing will. In Jesus Name we pray Amen…
