morning. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection, another edition of your insurance connection, right here at KU NV, 91.5 jazz and more. Early Sunday morning. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Yes, Las Vegas, we're getting a little wet with the rain, and it's going to rain a little bit more this week, too, to my understanding. So you know, if you have to file any claims because of the water water damage, please do so early Monday, morning and afternoon this program, you probably better understand what options you have with filing claims now, when, when it comes to filing claims, because, because of the weather, water loss, you know, we have to be more Pacific, especially if it's raining and on the roofs and you have water damage be but that may not I, may I may not be covered. However, if you have hell damage that could be covered, you know, it rally hills here in Vegas. I don't know why they call it hell. It's just ice. It's just little ice crystals that, but they're pretty big and they're like marbles, and they cause a lot of damage. But if you neglect from from, you know, doing your normal maintenance on your home, or replacing a roof, or tiles on your roof again, that may or may not be covered, if you have a water losses due to the roof. Water leaks through the roof into the home. You know, it may be a maintenance issue. I've had people call me and ask me questions like, hey, you know, if I have, I have broken tile, I need to replace tile. Does my homeowner's insurance replace that? No, because that's, that's more maintenance. Now, if you had a wind storm, if we had a wind storm here in Vegas or wherever you are, listening to this program right now, because Kumbh, it broadcasts all over the planet, okay, but if you have a wind damage, you know, a storm come through and cause shingles, missing shingles, and now that could be covered. But you do have to act accordingly. You do have to act responsibly. Right away, file a claim against your homeowner's insurance policy for any any damages you may have. Water heaters are excluded, you know, as an insurance agent for 30 years, I received a lot of calls over the years, my water heater broke the water, you know, the water comes out from the bottom. So today, when you get a water heater, you have to put the pan down there. You have to put the pan and the PVC pipe that goes in the hole to redirect the water, probably into a bucket or some other resource where the water can flow out and not cause more damage. Now, the replacement of the water heater could be under your homeowners, not under your homeowners, but maybe like a home warranty type of protection. I've received calls over the years, people want to know if the water heater is protected under the homeowner's insurance policy. No, it's not. Now it could be protected for maybe mold damage, maybe, but you know, you have to let it sit around for a very long time with the water damage accumulating, creating mold, for that to happen. Now, I suggest, when you wash your clothes, turn the washing machine water lines off. When you finish washing your clothes, that'll present, you know, stop any any losses, because when the water pressure is on, on those water lines, you know they could break. You could be somewhere. You could be gone somewhere. You could be at the mall, to church, the grocery store, whoever, wherever. But those water lines won't stop until someone turns the water lines off. So when you finish washing clothes, you know you completely done all washing all your clothes, turn the hot water line off and turn the cold water line off. And sometimes the homes are now, in my house, I have a level, a level, you know, you just, just push it up, push it down, and a level, and it just turns the water lines off. So leveler, whatever you want to call it, but it's like a little shift, you know, and I can shift the water on and shift the water. Off. But some most homes have them. You know, the water shut off valves that you have to turn them off individually, turn them both off because it released the pressure from the water lines going to your washing machine, because the water pressure goes up and down, up and down, and eventually they're going to break. And then you have a water loss. You wake up in the morning, and you have water everywhere. And now you call your insurance company and you quickly find out you may or may not have that coverage. Some companies will not allow you to be covered for water, water losses, yeah, so you have to check your policy. You can look at your policy. If you don't have your policy you can contact your insurance company and request a copy of your declaration page. It shows all your coverages, all your exclusions. Look at the exclusions, because some of the farm companies right exclude water losses right here in Southern Nevada. Just want to let you know that, and I've had people call me and I don't sell a farm, so I don't, I don't. I represent multiple companies, but that's not one of them is the farm, and it's a couple different companies called the farm, but one of the farms to exclude water losses, you have to look at your policy and see whether your water losses are included. My name is Dave Marquez. This is your insurance connection. That is you News You Can Use. My number is 702-236-2624, 702-236-2624, I'm a licensed insurance agent right here in my hometown, Southern Nevada, right here, k, u and v, 91.5, jazz or more. And I love what I do. I love to meet you and to talk to you about your insurance coverages, your home, your auto, yes, and your life insurance. We all need life insurance. I just went to a funeral last week. Good friend of mine died. He's only 68 Yeah, yeah. One of my biker buddies, and we've ridden motorcycles everywhere, all over, all over the West Coast, and, you know, we get to the campsite, we ride our motorcycles, you know, we have a camp. They have a campsite. They used to pinch tents, you know. And when I was riding, when my wife was riding with me, she wouldn't, she said, we're not, I'm not gonna be in a tent. So we would stay at a hotel, and so we would go to the campsite where they are, where they had the tents, and they would always make me to cook. For some reason, I would always have to be the cook. And we're talking about maybe about 12 bikers, and they have all the tents, and it's a night. It looks nice, but my wife wasn't going for a tent. This is, no, I rode a motorcycle to get here. Well, for an example, we were out to Zion right in the summertime, they have tents. And, you know, and one of my friends that passed away, he would, he and his wife would pitch a tent, and they were nice tents, but, you know, I'm gonna miss those fun days we had together. And you know, he would always say, Hey, Don you're the cook. And everybody's out having a good time, I'm cooking. But and everybody come back like, Is the food ready? Is the food ready? But, you know, those are good times, good memories. His name Richard Johnson, and may he rest in paradise. Just went to his funeral just last week. And it shows me, it tells me, time is an asset. Time is an asset, you know? I mean, you ask yourself, the holidays are coming up. How many Christmas do we have left? How many Thanksgivings we have left with your family? I mean, Thanksgiving, Christmas comes once a year, right? Come once a year. How many Thanksgivings do we have left in us? You know, I'm at an age where I'm looking at maybe I only have another 1718, Christmases left in my lifetime. You know, at my age, I may have maybe 20 Christmases left in my lifetime, and how many Christmases Do you have? How many? How many holidays do you have left in your lifetime? And you you don't have life insurance, you have to ask yourself the question. Now, if you say, You know what I'm I don't want to talk about that right now. Just want to put it on hold. Time is an asset. You have to live it every single day. Enjoy it every day. Take care of your health. That is most important. You know, your body. You eat right, drink a lot of water, hydrate, walk, get out and walk. Just take a walk. You know, take the dog out for a walk, or just go to for a walk. You know, get some fresh air. Some fresh air in your lungs. Get away from the television set. You know, read a book, do something productive with your mind. Because, you know, I mean, my friend was 68 and then I had another friend in September, you know, he was, he had just turned set. He was 70 or going on 71 on. Almost 71 years young, and he passed away of cancer. I mean, that was back in September, and I have a friend now to pass him, you know. And I went to his funeral just last week. That's two friends in less than three months, you know. And I'm like, wow, time is an asset. We don't have much time kicking the can down the road, you know, saying that, you know what? I won't do it now. I'll do it at the first city. What? Why? What's the difference between now and the first of the year when it comes to getting life insurance for your family? You know what? For Christmas? Hey, you know what? I bought $100,000 life insurance policy. I made you and you, and you the beneficiaries, right? Merry Christmas.
Donald Marquez 10:42
And everybody gets 33% now one person is going to get 34% to equal 100% when the three people is going to be 33% 33% and 34% for one person. But you know, it's just It all adds up evenly at 100% when it comes to beneficiaries. Now you can add people and you can take people off as your beneficiary. You can take people off as your beneficiary. You know what? I took out a life insurance policy with Don Marquez, listening to the program right here, KU nv 91.5 jazz and more and and I purchased a life insurance policy to say I love you to my family, right? I say I love you to my family. And I mean, you know, you three the beneficiaries. Now, no matter who three it is, you're the beneficiaries. Merry Christmas. That's your Christmas present. I made you beneficiaries on my life insurance policy. And people probably gonna look around and say, you know, okay, okay, okay. Well, how much was the policy? $100,000 and if you think about it, that's about $33,000 for each person. Now one individual is going to get 34,000 but the rest of the individuals, the other two, is going to get 33,001 is going to get 34,000 for an example, let's say we make the wife that 34% she gets 34,000 $100,000 life insurance policy. The other two beneficiaries receive 33,000 each. My name is Don Marquez. I can make that happen for you. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 my business hours are Monday through Friday. From 10am to 5pm I'm located right on the heart of a beautiful city, Las Vegas, Nevada, on the corner of Sahara Rancho in the US bank center, eighth floor. I work by appointment. 702-236-2624, I had a conversation. With a lady, one of my customers. She came in and she heard this program, 91.5 and she said to me, I heard you talking about life insurance as a savings account. Well, I'm not really good at saving money because I live on a really tight budget. I'm retired. How can a life insurance policy be a savings account? Good question. Good question, because she brought I talk about that from time to time. This is how this is how it works. If you're not really good at saving money, or you're on a really tight budget, or you have extra income to spend, let's say you take out a policy for $100,000 right? You're healthy enough to qualify for a policy for $100,000 and your monthly premium is, is going to be a monthly premium based on what you can afford, right? Because we're gonna find a policy for you that'll fit in your budget, right, according to your age, your health, your medications you're taking. We'll find a policy to fit in your budget. You what you just did taking out a life insurance policy for $100,000 you just put $100,000 in your savings account, and your only obligation is to make that premium payment month to month. Or you could pay it six months in advance, or on a whole year in advance. But what you're doing, you're buying money. And when I explained to the lady, she understood, it's like, I never looked at life insurance like that. I never looked at life insurance as I'm buying money. Yes, you are, and in most cases, and in most cases, you're gonna be gonna spend a lot less for for the life insurance policy face him out. So you're buying a life insurance policy for that day. It's a casket waiting on all of us. Okay? It just is, and it's a matter of time when that day has come and it's gonna come for all of us, each and every one of us, listening to this program, walking this face of earth, would not last forever. We're gonna we'll have a date. Each and everyone has have a date. Are you financially prepared for that date? Is your family financially prepared for that date? It's going to be devastating for family members. I've been to it. I know what it feels like, and I know the feeling every single day. And I told you my story over and over again. I lost loved ones, my mother, my dad, my. My wife, you know, and it's not easy. It's not and you live it every day. And you know, loss of loved ones, especially your spouse. You know, parents, you kind of expect it, you know, like they get they're older than us. You kind of got in your mind say, Yeah, you know mom and dad, grandparents, you know, you kind of but when you got you talking about your spouse and the person you live with. It every day you break bread with every day you get up every day with you. You know they they know your moves. You know. You know her moves, his moves right before. You know. You know what he's gonna do like clockwork, or you know what she's gonna do like clockwork. And now you lose that individual. They're gone. Now your life starts on a new journey. It starts all over again. Your life starts all over again. That's this is why I said earlier. Time is an asset. It truly is an asset, because once that person is gone, they're gone, they're gone, they're not coming back. Now you you left with the grief and the financial responsibility and how you gonna pay for all of this. Don't put yourself in that position. You know, of worry or concern. Now is the time to act when you're healthy, or even if you have, you know, underlying health conditions, diabetes, lupus, a history of cancer. You know, don't give up. Something is better than nothing. A life insurance policy in hand is better than no policy at all or no money in the bank. These funeral homes, mortuaries, whatever you want to call them, they're in the business of making money. They really are, and they cost a lot of money to go see these people. No one walks in a mortuary just to check on things. I didn't win the neighborhood. I just want to go into mortuary. Just want to say hello to everybody's everybody's doing. Take a look at your new, new and latest, greatest casket. So what's what do you have to offer? No one does that. You only go to a mortuary when you absolutely have to, and when you go in there because of loss of a life, right? And when you go in and make arrangements. You're going to quickly find out the cost to bury a loved one. It's unbelievable today, between 15 and $20,000 all day, every day. And if you're a veteran, I want to say Happy Veterans Day to all the veterans out there. Thank you for your service. Thank you so much for your service. And I'm also a veteran us, you know, United States Air Force. Yeah, yeah. I was in Air Force. I was in the Air Force. Love the Air Force. That's like working at the airport. The only thing is working at the Air Force. I worked on the flight line. And those jet planes, when you when they come in and park, they're very loud, when you're on the floor, when you're on the grounds, out there, on the flight line, and when they come in, and you stop the airplane, and you i service the airplane when they came in, all the maintenance and whatever needs to be done, sent out specialists, radar specialists, instrument specialists. So we, we had to repair whatever was broken the airplane. Because every time you fly, something's wrong with that plane. I'm gonna tell you that right now is this way too many moving parts, but the good news is they have a lot of backup parts too, as well. I don't want to get off off subject, but you know, just thank you for all our veterans out there that serve our company, our country, and thank you for your service. But as a veteran, you can get certain benefits for life insurance, but as you age, those benefits can be reduced. That's the only unfortunate part about the military benefits for life insurance, and I've seen policies that as you age, they reduce. So let's say for you, for instance, if you start off with $100,000 life insurance policy. As you age, it can reduce down to 50,000 down to 25,000 down to 10,000 I've seen military policies like that. That's not always the best policy for you, because in the long run, as you age, this is when your family really needs the money. And how much money do you need for life insurance policy? It depends on what you need. It depends on what you qualify for. Because I get that question actually asked a lot, how much life insurance do I need? Well, let's sit down and do a needs analysis. Let's see what you need, what you're trying to cover, who you're trying to cover, even if you're not trying to cover yourself, maybe you're trying to cover a loved one, your husband, your wife, even your children. And if you have loved ones out there, children, you know, I'm a loved one that's homeless and don't, you know, just out there and not coming back with no life insurance, I can, I can get a life insurance policy on them for you. I can make it happen. My name is Dave Marquez. This is your insurance connection. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 if you just tuning in for the very first time, welcome to the show. And I broadcast right here. Kunb 91.5 jazz and more every Sunday morning from 8am to 830 Welcome. Welcome. And welcome to the show been on there now about three years. I want to thank Dr Ridley for this amazing opportunity, and also my engineer, Mr. West Knight, to keep me on time, to keep everything on pace, to edit anything that I may say,

but I am here for you. I enjoy what I do. I love what I do as an insurance professional, I just love this business. I was born to do this. I've had other careers. I've owned other I've owned a business. I own art gallery, picture frame. I taught myself how to pitch a frame, and I sold art for 10 years. I was in the casino management business, floor floor personnel at the casinos. I was a dealer, and at one time I was a carpenter, and in the Air Force i i was aircraft maintenance. They call it aircraft maintenance, but you, you know, I'm an aircraft mechanic. That's what it all. It is aircraft mechanic. So I've had, I've had a few professional, you know, things I did in my life. And I thought about when I got, when I got out of the air force to continue as an aircraft mechanic, but I probably wouldn't be able to hear right now, because those jets, when they come in, they're loud and, you know, taking care of my health. I thought about, I said, I can go out today, and I could have easily, probably got a job at McCarran. They call it, you know, it's another name now, but, you know, I could have got a job out of my Karen, or somewhere as an aircraft mechanic, but I decided, you know, to do other things and, and, but when it came to be an insurance agent, I've never felt so welcoming into this profession 30 years. Got into the insurance business in the late 90s, and I've been excited ever since coming up Thanksgiving, it will be 30 years for me. Yeah, that's my anniversary, 30 years when I passed my test and I became an insurance professional. So I'm looking forward to this Thanksgiving because it changed my life back in the late 90s, and it changed my family's life, and it educated me on insurance products I love, absolutely love what I do. I'm learning all the time. I'm meeting I'm meeting people with needs and concerns about their insurance. What I find is consistent about being an insurance agent, people do not read their insurance policies. When you say you have car insurance, you tell me you have full coverage. What does that mean? Full Coverage means you have all the bullets checked, all the coverages you have. You have uninsured motors, you have medical you have roadside assistance. You have it all. You have rental car reimbursement, and most people don't check all those boxes. You have what the state is required for you to carry. Now, when you carry the minimum state requirements at 25,000 per person, 50,000 each occurrence, and $25,000 property damage. That's the minimum state requirement. When you're shopping for car insurance and you're only carrying the minimum state requirement, you're not in a really position, a good position, to really find a lower car insurance rate. Car Insurance companies are not really looking for clients who carry the minimum requirement to get a lower car insurance rate. Every once in a while, it happens, but it's not, not that often. It's not, it's not that often. It's just not. Now, when you see these commercials on TV, you know, 15 minutes to save you XYZ, right? Oh, I saved $700 or $600 or whatever on my car insurance. And you see these commercials because, you know, doing a football game, I don't care what you're doing. They play them all day, every day, and people tell me, Well, you know, I saw this commercial on TV. They're not talking about Vegas. They're just not talking about Vegas. And another thing they tell you, what do you they saved on these commercials, right? There's some misleading, but they want to, they want to generate a phone call now, nationwide survey probably, if you was somewhere in the middle of Idaho, you know, and it's a small town, yeah, you probably say what they're talking about. And then another thing too, what people don't know is that these, advertisers on television with these insurance companies, and there's nothing wrong with they're doing. It's just a nationwide average. What they're coming out to, you know, saying you could. They don't say you will. They say you could save on average, because they have their wiggle room. But these people are paying their premiums in full. Yeah, they're paying their premiums in full. And now you want to save money on your policy. Pay your premium in full. Don't make month to month payments when you calling around for car insurance, and you're getting How much is that? How much is that? When you contact me, I'm gonna tell you what the pay in full price is. This is how you save money. Pay it in full for six months, paying in full. For a year. My name is Don Marquez. My contact phone number is 702-236-2624, 702-236-2624, located Sahara Rancho, right across the street from the palisation Hotel in the US bank center, eighth floor. And I work by appointment. My business hours are Monday through Friday, from 10am 5pm and I work by appointment only. I've had people show up. And fortunately, you know, some I'm in a and it's, you know, funny thing about it when people show up. Sometime, I've just walked out of my office on my way to another appointment. I work in my office primarily, but sometimes I have appointments away from my office for personal reasons, right? I might have to go to a doctor or something, you know, have to go to the VA, but this is why I work by appointment, because I do have to go to the VA from time to time. I do have to, I do have other things too. I just don't sit in my office nine to five all day, every day, I have things to do. This is why I enjoy working by appointment. And that way, it frees my time up. Frees your time up. We settle on the time, and when I say and I'll call you that morning to confirm you're coming in, because, you know, I have to drive from Henderson all the way to Rancho Sahara. So that's a nice little drive for me, if I'm if I'm in the Henderson area, this is News. You can use. My name is Don Marquez. You don't have to wait to the first of the year. And let's find out together how much life insurance you do need, because when you when you do lose a loved one. There's many times you lose that financial obligation too, as well. That person is gone. So that financial responsibility, that person that was given to the household, it could be buried with them. Sometimes total loss of income. Maybe it's the income is reduced. Can you live off a reduced income with your spouse, and don't think it can't happen to you. No one lives in this bubble. No one lives forever. No one lives forever. So you do need life insurance. Everyone needs a policy is, you know, the nice thing about life insurance policy, regardless of the face amount you receive, it's a tax free benefit. If you receive a million dollar life insurance policy, and I've sold million dollar life insurance policies. And when, when we and when the insurance company had to pay out that million dollar life insurance policy to the loved ones? Yeah, they were excited, like, that's got a million dollar life insurance policy. Yeah, I've written a few of those, not a lot, but a few, but a lot. Of 500,000 300,000 you know, that seemed like that's what hovers around. But if you don't qualify for that, you know high end life insurance policy, how large facing my life insurance policies? We do have options with no physical, up to $40,000 in life insurance for a whole life policy, for a whole life policy, no physical, no physical. Most people qualify with health issues. We're talking about diabetes, lupus, history of cancer, you know, multiple sclerosis. Let's listen out. Let's sit down have a conversation. 702-236-2624 702-236-2624, life insurance we all need it. You can afford it. I'll find a policy that will fit in your budget. You can select the due date between the first and the 28th of each month, or if you want to, you can pay the policy in full for the full year. Now there is no discount to pay the life insurance policy for the full year. However, as I said earlier, if you pay your car insurance for the full term, for six months or 12 months, you do receive a substantial discount. This is your insurance connection. My name is Dave Marquez, 702-236-2624, 702-236-2624, everyone. Have a great day today. Get out, take a walk. We'll do this again next week. Until then, just keep it crispy. You.
