Shalom, dear listeners, and thank you for joining me today in our exploration of Torah wisdom. Today, we turn our thoughts towards a line from Proverbs (Mishlei), Chapter 19, Verse 21: "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails."
In our daily lives, we make plans - for our careers, our families, our personal growth. We strive, we dream, we envision a future that we hope to shape. Yet, often we find that our plans do not unfold as we imagined.
The wisdom of this verse is twofold. Firstly, it reminds us of the ultimate sovereignty of Hashem. Even as we make our plans, we must recognize that it is the Almighty's purpose that will prevail. This is not to discourage us from planning, but to teach us humility and submission to His divine will.
Secondly, this verse is a comforting reassurance. When our plans go awry, when the unexpected happens, we should remember that it is part of a bigger plan, a divine purpose that we may not understand. This message can help us navigate the ups and downs of life with equanimity and faith.
As we go about our day, let's keep this wisdom in our hearts. May we be humble in our planning, steadfast in our faith, and always ready to accept the unfolding of the divine purpose.
Remember, "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails."
